This class is super hard for those of you who hate essay tests. Her lectures are unorganized and sometimes she has no idea what she is talking about. SHE IS VERY UNHELPFUL!!!! She is very arrogant and if I had it to do over again I would not take her class or art history for that matter!!this course is a waste of time!!!
if you want to have to memorize 70 different works of art along with their patron, date, material, artist, city displayed in, and probably a few others to only be tested over 5 of them then this is the class for you. Otherwise, don't bother with her class. She might know the art but she doesn't know how to teach the class. She's VERY unhelpful.
I would NOT reccomend this teacher to anyone! Displays things not in the book. Tests are UNREAL!! All lecture and visual. Part time teacher, full time mom. Shows up late and on the run. DO NOT TAKE CLASS WITH HER. She is very knowledgable, but not student friendly. If your not an art major and this is mandatory, find another core class.
This teacher is horrible! The tests that were given were completely awful. Bad directions, and overall understanding of the class and the tests caused me to dislike the class and teacher as a whole. I love art, and this professor made me hate the class. She cared more about moving her children into a house than our understanding of the class.
This class is terrible. Her teaching skills are comparable to those of a four year old with downs syndrome. If you do take this class... MEMORIZE. Everything is essay. Oh, and if you aren't interested in womens rights... she'll kick you all out of class. Concluding thought: Read Romans 13.
Lectures only, has accent, need to memorize entire book
This was a good class. The lectures were organized and the exams are very doable, with some studying of course. Just do not get behind with the reading, and do not skip class. From talking to people who took her class before, I think she has changed the class a lot from her first semester. I definitely recommend it.
Tests are difficult to study for, she has an accent that can be difficult to understand, and she's not very student-friendly. It IS possible to do well in her class, though. Just study hard and know everything she says in class.
Don't take this class - not only is it a waste of time but it's very hard to understand her and follow her lectures. Her test can be difficult and she's extremely scatter brained. Most of her tests are based off of the book and not on her lectures. I would recomend taking another class - or with another professor.
She is difficult to understand and is not clear on what she wants you to study from.
Her accent is difficult to understand at times. The books are necessary because all of her tests come from them and you are required to read for each class. She highly values participation and insists you answer and maintain eye contact each class period. Her tests are also confusing and the answers are similar. A more difficult than an elective.
WORST CLASS EVER. WORST TEACHER EVER. TAKE A DIFFERENT CLASS AND SAVE YOURSELF THE WASTE OF TIME. SHE IS TOTALLY UNHELPFUL AND SO IS HER CLASS.
This class is awful. She is very difficult to understand and the tests are almost impossible to pass unless you plan to memorize the whole book and everything she ever said in class.
Not a bad teacher, despite her accent. It's not as bad as people are making it seem. However, her tests are all multiple choice; & while this might SOUND easy, it's not. Most of her questions look like: "A. Impressionism B. Post-impressionism C. A and B D. None of the above". (Not a good example, but you get the point)
I really enjoyed her class. You have to take good notes and listen. Reading ahead and being able to answer her questions in class will dazzle her. She seems like she gets a lot of corp boys and is tired of their disrespectful attitudes. (Take a different class and shut up.) But other than that, her tests are easy. BE in class.
It's a really easy class if you pay attention and take notes. It's a little boring, but sometimes interesting. Her accent isnt at all.
You can study for days an still fail her tests. She wants you to memorize the text book.
I have NEVER had trouble understanding her lectures. I think some use that as an excuse for the fact that they did not pay attention! Attendance is important - if you show up and pay attention, you will not have a problem with the tests. She is a nice teacher, but does not put up with immature BS, it's college - not kindergarten people!!!
Anyone who says you need the book to pass the test obviously never paid attention in class. I have not once cracked my book, and still have an A. The entire class is common sense and she is quite funny and very clear with what she wants. However She DOES NOT PUT UP WITH BS!!! If you want to text in class or read magazines beware! I love her!
Can't understand her. Expects you to know every detail of everything discussed and not discussed. Basically had to memorize the textbook and still got a C.
very rude, does not respect any students, cannot understand a word of her "English", DO NOT TAKE HER
She is horrible. She can talk for hours about how interesting some simple cup from centuries ago is so complex. The material is very uninteresting, and there are tons of dates to remember. Terrible course and horrible teacher.
This is literally the most disrespectful teacher at N.GA. If you can help it, DON'T take this teacher. She is rude and boring and her accent is ridiculous. Worst class in my college career so far, no doubt.
she is hard to understand and all your final grades comes from is 3 or 4 test. its boring and a pointless class.
I had no trouble in her class at all. As long as you attend class you won't have to read the book. The tests were cake as long as you scanned through her notes the night before and know the terms on the review sheet.
Tries hard to make sure students understand her. Goes in depth about art making it easy to remember stuff when going to take the test. Tests are easy if you go to class and review notes. Answers questions thoroughly. Nice teacher.
She is a wonderful person and teacher. If you make an effort (and state your case on those pesky test questions you miss, and yes, you will miss some) then you will do just fine. do your work, come to class, and pay attention. is that so hard? why are people complaining? you DO have to work but ... you have to work for anything worth having. :)
I think this teacher is great. Absolutely wonderful. Very knowledgeable and eager to help students who demonstrate an interest in the material. Yes, it's a class that requires work and effort, but isn't that how college classes are supposed to be?
Not the most exciting class but an easy A if you put in some effort. Make sure you ask questions before the test because she will answer them in accordance and she will be helpful if you show interest. If you have a choice, you should definately take her.
SUPER EASY! Seriously all you have to do is look at the power points and write down what she says about them. I only looked at my book once and still got A's on all of my tests! Just make sure you're not on facebook or else she will kick you out of class.
Her class was subpar. I never studied and came out with an A. She gives a lecture based off of a powerpoint, and her tests are based entirely on them. You don't need the textbook, and she can even get the history wrong. It's a mess of a class.
She is nuts. I worked so hard in this course but basically if you don't have a photographic memory or unless your and art teacher prepare for a diffcult long boring class
This class is super easy. If you take notes and actually study you are guaranteed an A in the course. I'm not an art major but I actually found this course interesting.
Very clear on what is going to be on the test. Has everything planed out what she is going to talk about, and you can take notes about the paintings. She gives opportunities for extra credit and those that care to study at least a little do very well.
She is very strict and will not put up her power points on vista. you have to be in class and write down everything she says to get good notes that will be helpful when studying for her tests. her first 2 tests were hard but they get easier the more you get used to her style and class. overall I enjoyed the class but she is challenging.
The class is pretty challenging. Tests consist of comparing and contrasting different works of art so be prepared to memorize everything about a painting. She is a very sweet lady and attractive as well. Sexy accent.
Art History is difficult no matter what because there is a lot of memorization. However, I prefer her style of teaching because she gives you exactly what she wants you to know for the test prior to the lectures;there are no surprises. Pay attention and take notes with the image list she gives you. She asks questions on the test about what she says
I loved this professor! She is very knowledgable about the material. She does lectures through powerpoint so the book is not a requirement and her powerpoints are on D2L. She is funny, but does not put up with people having their phones out in class. As long as you take good notes and look over them before the test you will make an A.
I adore Dr. Pozzi-Harris! Art History is a tough class no matter who you have, but she is clear and concise with the information. Her tests are challenging, but it feels amazing to put in the work and get a good grade. I'm looking forward to taking Art History 2 with her this spring. Overall, a friendly, helpful and intelligent prof!
Worst teacher I've had at UNG. She makes her tests impossible and if you don't make an A on the first one, you won't make an A on anything for the rest of the semester. She is so rude in her office hours and only makes you feel worse. I had her for this class and the next, made a B in one somehow and a C in the other and I am an A student.
This class is joke. She comes to class everyday and takes fifteen minutes trying to figure out how to turn off the lights or how to start the computer. She seems very knowledgeable about art but rambles a good bit. For test she gives you a weeks notice and gives a study guide. Many extra credit opportunities are available.
The class itself is boring and there's a lot of info to memorize. Attendance is mandatory and even if you have an excused absence she will count it against you. Her tests are not hard copies but power-points on the screen; you will be expected to answer each question in a certain time before it goes onto the next slide. She can sound rude sometimes
She tells you up front what is expected and needed to pass or get an excellent grade. She lectures with photographs the full class period. There is a lot of memory work, but if one really knows the information A grades can be made. he expects you to be in class, no cell phones, and participation encouraged. How a college class should be.
Had her for Art History Survey 1 and 2 and they were easily two of my most enjoyable classes. She never comes to class with any form of notes because she really knows her stuff. Tests can be intense-all essay for an hour and 15 minutes, but not a problem if you have studied. Definitely a favorite professor of mine. Accent may take getting used to.
She's obviously in love with art and she tries to get everyone else interested too. Extremely knowledgeable. Very professional, respectful, and humble. Study hard because there's a lot of information that is presented in class. But if you don't work hard then don't expect to get good grades. Lots of studying and work is key. Pretty hot too.
Don't get me wrong, the class is super easy but she is incredibly rude! I've never had such a disrespectful professor or teacher in my life. Her accent is hard to understand at first but it does get easier, her attitude, on the other hand, is persistent and uncalled for.
The worst "teacher" I've ever had. She is completely incompetent. She is a bully, all the students know to steer clear of this one. Too bad I was new and didn't, but I learned, and am still paying the price. Her tests are ridiculous, she doesn't seem to care about her students, or her role as a teacher. No stars! She drives students away.
I went into this class thinking it was going to be an easy A. Wrong. Tests are incredibly hard, be ready to know SPECIFIC info. Even with the paper, attendance, and activities if you don't make A's on the tests you won't get an A in the class. All lecture, hard to stay awake for so long. Would have rather taken it online
Really enjoys the arts and strictly teaches through powerpoints. Listen to the lecture and take notes and youll do well on the tests, which are in the form of slideshows with one minute for each question. Dont be worried, it usually only takes a few seconds to know the answers.
She is really funny and a good teacher but get ready for a group project.
Overall, pretty easy class and A. I didn't so much in class, but I did study quite a bit before the tests by just reviewing the power points over and over again. She does incorrectly define some art terms, so if that bothers you, don't take the class.
She was an okay teacher. She likes to give group projects but then not be specific enough about what she wants. You need to attend the class to catch the stuff she doesn't put on her PowerPoints because she will test you on them. She has an attendance sheet every day and it counts as a part of your grade.
She's a great teacher, but be prepared to pay attention in class or you won't be able to pass the exams. She likes to have small details about art work in her test that she only covers for a split second in class. Basically, you have to go to class to get most of the information. Great class though!
No textbook, no final. Attendance isn't mandatory, but is encouraged by her giving participation points every day of class. Her tests are literally so easy, she types EVERYTHING she says in lecture and puts it on D2L as a study guide. Don't even bother taking notes, what's on the PowerPoint is not what's on the test. Just use the study guide.
An easy A, but make sure you study the material she provides before tests in order to ensure your grade. She is super cool and understanding, just make sure that you are in class or have an excuse, or you will get 0s that effect your grade.
She is a good professor but only lectures through power point. Be warned she will turn off all the lights so in the morning you will fall asleep. One good thing is that she puts all her lecture notes online so you can read over those and do well on the test.
The class is very easy you just go to class and listen to her lecture off the board. All of her notes are on D2L which is the best way to study them. There is three group projects which you do in class very easy. She does count attendance, go to class. The tests are very easy 40 questions all multiple choice.
Dr. Pozzi-Harris is amazingly passionate about art history and explains the subject very well. There is no textbook to buy, all her lessons are online, but you still need to keep up with them if you want to do well. While an interesting class, her tests are a nightmare. They are very long and have very intense essay questions. Overall great teacher
Just show up to class and pay attention. I reviewed for the tests the night before and did just fine. Attendance is a big part of your grade so don't skip too often. DON'T PULL OUT YOUR PHONE THOUGH. She gets pretty chippy about that. 3 group projects that are easy A's as long as you meet the requirements. You don't have to take notes, just listen.
Ana Pozzi-Harris is an amazing professor and would highly recommend taking her for Art Appreciation; I have learned a lot. There are 3-4 tests and with each test, there is a group project. Both are very easy and there is no final. Attendance is incredibly important; you have to go because your grade will be affected, so don't skip.
Pozzi-Harris is a good teacher and is very passionate about the subject of art. This class is lecture HEAVY, but I honestly took very few notes the whole year. It's boring, but easy. Her powerpoints and lecture notes are on D2L, just review those before the tests and you'll be fine. There are 3, 40 question mc test. 3 easy 100 group assignments.
Dr. Pozzi-Harris is a solid choice for art appreciation. A little boring because it is 99% powerpoint lecture, but it's an easy A if you pay attention. She deducts a point from your grade each time you skip class so you have to show up. She is nice and knows a lot about art, so it can be interesting. If you need this class take her, you'll be good.
Shes clearly passionate about the arts and makes the class interesting. Only one paper and after one test you know exactly how to study.
Best online teacher I have had! At first the class was confusing and art appreciation was a scary class subject. But by the end of the class I understood how to look at art and truly appreciate it. Easy grader and gives good feedback. By the end I was making 100's on my papers. She responds super fast and is always around to help her students.
Attendance is a point every day so its required. Her class is pretty easy... but her tests can be difficult. Its easy to not pay attention, until you have an activity or test due. 8/10
the class is easy, but you have to show up. she cares a lot about what she is teaching about and talks the entire time. there's 3 test, as you pay attention, and look at the notes and PowerPoints posted you will be fine. you have activities to complete in class about what she has talked about, you just have to answer in the format she expects.
She likes it if you interact with her in class. You can have a computer to take notes but do not use your phone. Her lectures aren't boring but if you are tired you may lose attention easily. If you take notes on extra details you'll do great on the essay part of her tests. The tests are daunting but she will let you stay after to finish.
I was nervous going into this class but once you take the first test, all are the same as that one so you know what to expect. She goes into great detail in lectures and as long as you take notes during lectures and study you will do well in her class! She is a funny lady without trying to be and I thoroughly enjoyed learning in this class.
Dr. Pozzi Harris is a FANTASTIC teacher! She expects you to participate, carefully read and follow instructions and as long as you do that, you'll be prepared. She's extremely organized, knowledgeable, straight forward, clear about her expectations, and makes tough work easier as a result. I've taken multiple classes from her and would do it again.
Looking for an easy A? Don't take her class. Looking for an education? Take her class. A brilliant teacher, inspiring lecturer, and demanding grader. Patient and understands that students are learning, but expects them to do their part. Works extremely hard and expects students to do the same. Looking forward to next semester with her again!
I LOVE Dr. Pozzi-Harris she would post two lectures a week and we would have one homework assignment to present in class the other day. The test really are not hard if you just know the art pieces. Just study what she tells you to and pay attention to the lectures/take good notes and it really is not a hard class. Do good on the homework and study
Where do I even begin? Professor Pozzi Harris is a wonderful, wonderful professor. I had to really try in the class to make an A, but the content is so organized. If you pay attention to the lectures and take good notes and study you will do well. After the first test you know exactly how to study.
Despite people saying her accent is hard to understand which is not true this class is fairly easy. Yes you need to memorize certain things about the paintings but its all multiply choice with 4 essays. PLEASE take notes when she speaks about the paintings in detail it helps a lot with the essay portion on tests.
I took this class over the summer. Her D2L was not organized and it made it very confusing to see what was due and when. Ana told me I was the most confused student she has. Who says that? She wasn't a great teacher but there is worse at UNG so beware.
Great professor. Lecture heavy, and lots of studying. Cool subject material and you can tell she knows a lot about it. Take notes, make flashcards, study them (45 min-1 hr) for a few days before each test. Caring teacher and fairly accommodating. Takes attendance as a grade. 1 paper - you have to go to a museum for it on your own time.
Her lectures can be boring at times, but you gotta constantly take note of everything she says. Every detail counts towards the test in the essay section. Gotta study a good bit to pass this class. Attendance is a grade.
Loved this class! Prof Harris made class so interesting, her lectures were very good. Exams were partially written, partially multiple-choice, attendance is mandatory & u r graded everyday for showing up, but it was my favorite class so I didn't want to miss it. She is very helpful & knowledgeable & puts all the information on D2L for you to review
Amazing professor and amazing content! First history class I have ever found enjoyable, fun, and actually remembered anything! She makes it so easy to understand. She is hilarious and caring. TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Spent the first half of our semester adverting a new Art History major and her Tapestry installation. Talks more about religion than the art/artist. I was so excited to take her and LOVE art history, but she's RUINED it for me. Her tests are outrageous for how little we actually get taught. Takes weeks to grade. I feel like I've learned NOTHING.
It's all lecture and attendance is worth a lot but you only have one assignment and 4 tests. tests are hard but if you just pay attention and study it'll be ok. pozzi is intense but show up and shut up and youll be good
Good for STEM majors to get a fine arts credit. Take the hybrid class, it will save you a lot of time if you work or have to study a lot for your other classes. If you go to all the lectures, pay attention, and read the notes posted on D2L, you will do very well on all the exams. Easy A+
She is very passionate about her subject and rude to students. Everyday is an attendance grade, so show up. Pick the hybrid option because her lectures are very boring and you will have less class time. There are only 3 tests which are very difficult if you don't study. She did end up curving my end of semester grade in the end which was nice.
She is nice, but the assignments are usually changed last minute, and test questions are hard to understand with only having 45 seconds per question.
History of Graphic Design was an easy online class. The exams were simple and she goes over the material a few days before. As long as you do the discussions and take decent notes, you should be fine. She grades very fairly and gives straightforward feedback. Just do the work and you'll be fine. This class isn't difficult and you still learn a ton
Professor Pozzi Harris is very passionate and knowledgeable regarding art. However, her lectures get boring when without a lot of engagement. Usually, just a few people responded to her questions so that it could get dull. Be prepared for powerpoint-style tests. Overall, I'd retake her, but be warned that you won't like it if you don't like art.
This professor is so passionate about art, and you can just tell how much she enjoys it. She is very lecture heavy, so be sure to take notes when you are in the class. As for the class itself if you are not interested in art it can be long at times, and she is very hard to reach outside of class by email, so I definitely say go to her office hours.
Took ART4850 through D2L and it was pretty straight forward. Bi-weekly discussions (really easy) where you upload works and respond to others. Be specific with times spent and talk about what you did. Her feedback is helpful and she guides you at times to make better posts. Upload EVERYTHING for the final and it should be an easy class.
Only assignments are group projects. You better hope your partner can pull their end because you will have to do all the work if not, pretty typical of partner work but not right. If you sign up for something, don't expect it to be solid. Your spot will probably get moved to something you don't want. Disorganized.
I have had alright experience with Pozzi in the past. She's very blunt and can be kind of rude. This class required so much memorization of concepts and vocab words that had to be implemented in serval essays for exams. Simply too much material to remember to the level of specification she's looking for.
She was such a great professor, very lecture heavy but her classes are always so interesting. There's only one essay and 4 tests, if you do not study or take thorough notes you will not do well, otherwise her class was pretty easy.
Overall not bad! This class does feel very high-school-like, though. Prepare for a whole lecture if you take out your phone to check the time. There's no homework, but do your share of studying and participation because attendance is graded and you only have a writing assignment and 4 essay-based tests. You will be completely fine if you can write.
She is an amazing professor! She made my class laugh multiple times throughout the semester. Be prepared to take a lot of notes, there are ONLY FOUR TESTS for the entire semester, no quizzes, and what ever she decides for the final. Attendance is mandatory.
Dont take this professor. Will publicly humiliate you for not knowing/ forgetting something. Nervous about presentations :) your gonna be. Ive never been so disrespected about something so miniscule. Ive never had to drop a class because of a certain situation and I wasnt going to continue the class with someone like that
