Re: Oral Interpetation. Very good about giving study guides for tests and project guides for performances. Her grading is honest and fair - she breaks down the points so you know your strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend her!

Analisa is really nice instructor. But I thought her midterms were unnecessary. I had a friend who had her a while back and Analisa didn't give out any tests. Which would have been nice b/c the tests wasn't easy.

Analisa is a doll, really. She is just so wonderful to be around and talk to. When I had her she was pregnant and she never took a day off, ever. I am so fortunate that she didn't because I would have missed meeting such a fantastic professor. Take Analisa for any and all of your speech classes, with her it's barely class at all.

Ms. Ridenour is a great professor. She is straightforward and teaches you different techniques on public speaking. Use the book for the 2 tests, do your best on each speech presentation and you will do well in the class. I practiced all the above techniques and got an "A" in the class.

I took her over the summer a few years ago an she was truly one of the best teachers I ever had at LBCC. She makes class seem like a breeze and our class really bonded.

Speaking in front of people sucks, but she made it bareable. She is a good teacher, knows HOW to teach. Take her if you have to take speech.

i took this class over the summer and it was awesome. the nereves kill you before the speeches but ridenour creates the kind of envoirnment & atmosphere where, when you're up there, it all seems to go away. you learn a lot from your classmates because the class is almost set up that way. tests are a breeze if you do a little reading and take notes.

Ms. Ridenour is a great instructor. 3 M/C tests, a few speechs w/an assigned partner. Just do your work & show up to take notes. Book usage is minimal, but you should get it. You really learn a lot and she makes it very interesting!!! Again, great instructor, definately recommend to take her!!!!

Excellent teacher. She creates an easy-going atmosphere and makes everyone feel comfortable about giving speeches. Class consists of 2 major debates and 2 exams but they very easy. Just show and take good notes and you'll get an A. She is also hot and good looking.

I too a course in high schoo as well and that teacher was great to but the second time around im improving one the skill that I need to work on in public speaking. Keeps on pace, has very interesting projects. This is probably the most fun speech because you're allowed lots of choices on projects. Will answer questions, really cares. Tests aren't so hard, should read textbook. She tries to give freebies on exams. Sometimes it's confusing, unless it's just me haha. Awesome sweet woman.

Had her for SP10 also. Debates aren't my thing, but surprisingly Analisa makes it all interesting. Little homework, few minor debates, 2 major debates, 2 exams and she tells you exactly what's on it. Attendance is mandatory. If you actually pay attention to lectures, skim over the book, and make it to class, you'll do fine. :) I recommend her!

1) I took her for SP 10 and 50; I would take her class again 2) SP10 does not require the textbook but SP 50 does. 3) Does not accept late homework; the homework is easy so do it! 4) If you want to maintain your GPA, take her 5) I highly recommend to study for the 2 exams she has.

Anyalisa is the best speech teacher I have had at LBCC. Shes the best. Makes the class fun. Just do your speechs and you will be fine and exams. Shes really smart she use to teach at Cal State Long Beach. take her for all your speech classes.

She does not use a book so you save some money (a BIG PLUS!!!) but she teaches you the same things you would learn out of a book. Literally the best prof i have ever had in my LBCC history. She is EXTREMELY nice, helpful, and easy! I hate giving speeches, i literally rather die but with her she makes it so easy! i got an A+...no book, only 2 exams that are beyond easy. If you take her you will have NO PROBLEM.

Great professor and very understandable. Her tests are easy mode and the way she helps us prepare our speeches with a guideline is excellent! (since she uses those guidelines to grade it anyway so follow it!) I never had a problem with public speaking so it was a breeze for me BUT...always prepare your speech (practice, etc.) and you will do fine!

You will do in class speech about once every 2 weeks but she helps you and grades based on the time you spent preparing for your speech. Prof. Ridenour was incredibly helpful and her class was a pleasure to be in! Public speaking is not easy, but she provides her students the structure and framework to become more relaxed and more confident with their class-mates, other professors, and most importantly, oneself. Ms. Ridenour is one of my favorite communication teachers that I've had so far. She is very encouraging and allows everyone to truly feel comfortable sharing their opinions. I am not the best with attendance but I made sure to make it to class as much as I was able to. I would definitely recommend her for any COMM class she instructs.

She's a very good teacher, she talks a lot and that could get a little boring. Some of her lectures are dry. This was my favorite class the speeches are fun and enjoyable and she lets you talk about what really matters to you as a person. She has a very broad subject for each speech you just have to narrow down what you like.

She was very inspirational and was very receptive to student opinion. She had her opinions, but was always open for new opinions. She cared about each of the students, which is fairly rare in a professor. She was by far the most influential professor i have had. I definitely recommend her.

Very fun and interesting Class. This is my second time taking her as my professor. Had her for Comm 50. Makes public speaking very comfortable. Always there after class for help and only gives you 2 tests and 4 major speeches. Do not need a textbook unless you want a reference. She covers everything in class.

Took 2 of her classes and consider her one of the best comm professors at LBCC. She's passionate, helpful, and kind. There were 5 easy hw, 2 papers, 2 exams, 1 group project. Really easy if you do it. Show up to class though because she knows if you're absent or even late and will dock off points off your grade each time.

She gives you assignments that are completely do-able you literally just have to do them. She grades fairly easy. I loved her positivity and her ability to include everyone such a sweetheart wish i could take her for all of my comm courses!

4 minor speeches, 3 major speeches, 2 exams, and a few small homework assignments. The outlines make them fly by quick. Classmates are supportive and engaged. Exams are easy and shell give hints on what will be on them. Analisa is a sweetheart and its a guaranteed A if you go to class and complete all assignments. If you get a chance, TAKE HER!

Analisa Ridenour has to be the nicest teacher at LBCC. I took her 8-week class which she says is rigorous, but if you stay on top of your speeches it'll be a breeze. The class was easy for me because I have a low level of communication apprehension when it comes to public speaking but if you get nervous in front of crowds you'll have to work harder

Analisa made everyone feel comfortable with her from the get go and made us comfortable with each other. She is clear as water. Her grading is fair. There are 5 Minor speeches 2-3mins max and 3 Major speeches 6-7mins. Her speech topics are straight forward and can be funny depending the speaker. ATTENDANCE IS CRUCIAL. She gives 2 freebees and overtime you miss that 5pts taken away. Super nice and understanding would take again.

TAKE HER! Analisa, is amazing! Took for her Comm 10 & Comm 50. She requires a textbook for Comm 50, but youll pass if you dont buy it because she provides her book on the projector when you need it. I bought it & only used it twice the whole semester. She is an easy A! Beware of a group project in front of a daycare.

One of the best professors I have had! There are a total of 8 speeches - 5 of them are 1.5-2.5 minutes long, one is 3.5-4.5 minutes long, and the other two are 6.5-7.5 minutes long. She gives you the outlines for each speech so you can follow her structure, making speech writing a lot easier. One midterm and final, but both are easy. TAKE HER!

Ive never written a comment for a professor before but I felt the need to this time. Hands down, THE best professor Ive had at this school!! She is very understanding and will accommodate is needed. She trys to make class fun && is very easy to talk to. She is also considerate if you fear public speaking just so long as you try.

Enthusiastic and fun! This class will pull you out of your comfort zone, but you will learn so much about yourself along the way and Analisa is the professor you want throughout the experience. Show up as there are participation exercises almost daily, not a lot of lectures at all, ask her for help cause she is willing and rehearse!!!

Prof Ridenour will grade your speeches hard on the items she tells you at the beginning of the semester like time. She's funny and really makes sure you know what you're doing. You have plenty of time to go over speeches in class and ask for help. If you do the work, follow her rules, and practice at home a little bit you'll be fine.

Being in Professor Ridenour's class was really great and fun. She uses fun examples in her lectures to keep us engaged and you can tell she really cares for her students. The work is sometimes intimidating but as you go through the class and apply her feedback to your work you will most definitely improve. She really walks you through assignments!

She's by far the best teacher I've had. I had Monday Zoom (speeches) and any assignments were due later in the week. Her lessons were super simple and easy to take notes on. I absolutely hated doing speeches but doing them every week allowed me to get better and she gave great feedback.

I skipped one class on accident and my grade dropped a lot. Please don't skip because the work is actually REALLY easy. Be prepared to give speeches on zoom and record your speeches to send to her. The major speeches should last 4 minutes minimum and the minor speeches are about 1.50 - 2 minutes. She's a sweet/kind funny Professor take her.

analisa is amazing and so sweet to her students. we met up through zoom for most of our speeches so attendance is important. she provides the textbook and she replies quick to emails. very understanding with her students and gives good feedback. she gives study guides for exams and theyre very helpful. i definitely recommend taking her class.

One of the best experiences you may have in a class with a great way of creating bonds with classmates. This class is very easy if you're not doing 18 units with a job, since the class is accelerated it goes by very quickly. Overall not an overwhelming class but make sure to get stuff in on time. Also give yourself plenty of time during presentations.

She's a good professor that gives thoughtful feedback and her lectures are concise and easy to follow. The speeches were by video and she gives a lot of room to make your own topic. Offers lot of extra credit by letting you record yourself doing your speech in front of others which is nice. Turned in some speeches late and still did well, take her.

Took during winter semester, great class. Not too fast-paced and assignments had clear instructions. All speeches had to be recorded, and three required at least one other person in frame as "audience", so keep that in mind if you prefer not to be recorded. Gave good feedback on all assignments and offered lots of extra credit. Would take again!

i took her class online and she made it super easy. many self recording videos about really interesting topics although she makes you have an audience in most videos, it helps you get going.

I took this class in 8 weeks and although it was pretty fast-paced, it wasn't hard as long as you kept up with the speeches and their due dates. Professor Ridenour truly cares about her student's success and gives opportunities for extra credit. I would 100% take this class again, I truly enjoyed it!
