Ananda is a great teacher. I belive her class is "easy" to do well in, but her students walk away with more than just a good grade, they walk away with a new understanding. I feel I have a good understanding of all material covered, and the way she teaches is creative and fun. Awsome teacher!!!!!

Anada spike .. was on of the best teachers i have had. She clearly states at the beginning of the semester what she expects, and how you will be graded. She grades fairly and gives plenty of extra credit. There is no excuse not to do well in her classes. She also responds quickly to email.

I was really impressed by how well Professor Spike, Ananda was. I took Hum120 with hey, and she has been one of the best Professor I've had so far here at Oakton. The Power Point presentation made the class more interesting and made me understand the textbook better. She would even stay after class if we had any questions regarding the class!! ~

During my time in Ananda's class I laughed, I thought, I listened, and I learned. My confidence grew as she encouraged us to become a team. Ananda Spike is overall one of the most pleasent teachers I have had at Oakton. I loved my intro to philosophy class I had this fall because she was very clear and made the class interesting. She really cares about how much her students learn and their success.

fast paced but thorough

She does a great job sorting out a lot of the abstract ideas in philosophy. She assimilates critical pedagogy into her classroom and is very successful at making us think for ourselves. She belongs at a university, not Oakton. I hope she is successful if she continues on this career path.

She keeps you interested though it is a lot of reading and work. Study all you can. Lots of extra credit and do as much as you can it helps you with quiz and exam points. Participate it helps to. A lot of work but good stuff.

There's alawys going to be teahers you love and teachers you hate. Ananada is a good teacher who try's to be as helpful as much as possible. No one is perfect, and we are all human beings who have busy agendas. I would reccomend taking one of her classes but be prepared to take notes don't get aggrivated when she doesn't email you back right away.

I took ms. spike's PHL 106 ethics course a few semesters ago. I loved it! we talked about ethical issues and relayed them to the real world. we always discussed the pros and cons of each topic. we had guest speakers and we had great debates. Very easy grader, lots of extra credit. Very easy A, but also keeps class fun and exciting. Uses lots of movies to help tie in the lessons with current examples. Highly recommended.

She is a great person. She is very understanding and helps you in every way she can. This class goes by very fast though, and ability to take quick notes is recommended. Internet is a MUST! Quizes and exams are somewhat unclear but she offers TONS of extra credit, which is how I passed the class with an A+ while still getting D's on all exams

This class is a bird course with an added advantage. You learn a great deal of culture, broadening your knowledge of the world. This class is not for procrastinators. When I say bird course I don't mean that the professor will give you an A just for coming to class. You have to earn it. But I promise you'll have fun and find it worthwhile.

Ananda is a very intelligent teacher and a very understanding person. She is great to be around, just to chat and is very flexible, but you have to show her that you care about the subject and about the class itself. Reading is very important in this class and sharing your thoughts and feedback on the topics read is also very crucial.

Ananda isn't one of those philosophy teachers who wants to brainwash you into adopting her personal views-- she is one of the most open-minded professors I've ever had. Before this class I had no prior experience in Philosophy classes. Ananda taught me so much about philosphy but also presented the essential questions that I was ready to ask myself. She had a genuine love of the subject that showed through in her daily enthusiasm. I will miss her, she was definitely one of the most influential teachers I have had

Ananda is one of the best professors I've ever had. She makes every subject interesting and I laughed every class. There is a lot of work. I had to stop one night because my fingers hurt from all the typing. But if you do all the homework, she grades fair and reconginzes the effort.

This teacher is great and loves to teach. Its not an easy A but doing the work on time will get you an A in her class. Teacher recognizes both effort and extra effort by rewarding bonus points. If you don't understand the text you are reading just state that in you questions and she will clarify and try to give you some credit.

I loved having Ethics with Ananda. I have taken other philosophy cl****es and not had any interest in them. Ananda shows her interest and excitement with the subjects and makes students feel the same way. I'm glad I got to have the experience of taking a cl**** with her. She's going to be missed here at Oakton.

Ananda is charismatic, personable and generally enthusiastic. She takes the time to gauge the interest and energy of the class and designs her lessons in order to maximize these things when they are lacking. I am taking her for a 2-month summer class and I've been really impressed with her ability to generate enthusiasm among the students in July.

Ananda was a cool teacher. I just dreaded going to class because it was like 3 hours long and by the break time I was ready to shoot myself. The class was all right, mostly because the material is not the most interesting subjects in the world. If I had to take another class and Ananda was teaching, I'd take it. Hope that helps.
