This teacher was very helpful, she answers any questions asked and makes sure everyone understands. She doesn't go too fast like most math teachers and is very down to earth; Shes not easy but not too hard; so expect to learn and do homework. I have always done bad in math until I took Alcira. She's awesome.

Had her 4 Math Liberal Arts 2. In class, u will understand everything so make sure u write everything down bcuz when u get 2 the computer part, u will b confused. Make sure u read the book and ask questions because u have 2 have the answers a certain way on the computer for it to be right. I recommend her only because she explains n BE ON TIME!!!

If you go to class & just pay attention, its a piece of cake. & Not stressing about studying or anything, just pay attention & you WILL get an A in the class. At first it seems she will not be teaching anything and that the class will be hard, but I got an A in the course so it turned out she was helpful and was open to questions.

Very good teacher .. you have to do 40 hawkes math modules ... if you come to class the whole time you get 4 extra credit points. if you do good on the first 3 tests you dont have to take the 4th one. take home tests .. no test is over 20 quesions. she is very nice and will go over things untill you completely get it .. take her !

She is great and very helpful! She tells you straight forward what to study for the test. I tried this class online couln't do it, took it with another professor and got a C, had to take it again to pass it with a B in order to graduate and that's what I got with her! and it was a summer class.

Professor Alcira was great, she gives great notes and answers all your questions. She also explains everything very thoroughly. I recommend her 100%!

1 of the best teachers EVER! She's sooo nice! The ppl who complain r the ppl who don't do the work, study, or r never there! There is no excuse for failing this class, she goes over the exact quizes u have to take at home. She'll explain things over and over again until u get it! B real!

I found it funny that the people that complain about her are the first ones to leave the class either early or not show up all. She is clear in her expectations, this is college kids. Come to class, do the work, ask questions after class if you need help as she is willing to help anyone, and you will do well.

Summer class is fast as usually so you have to do extra studies on your own. She goes over the homework quizzes and you have to participate in class. College Algebra is not a walk in the park so you have to study and practice. Some kids just want everything for free.

If you go to class, take good notes, and fo all the homework and quizzes you can get a good grade in this class. The material is difficult but she takes her time explaining it and answers any and all questions!

I have a really hard time with Math! After taking this class for the 3rd time - i would not of been able to pass without her help! Classes were well organized and understandable!

She is nice and all but if you like to be show all the steps and not have someone tell you this is easy all the time then she is not for. And she moves to fast.

I say that Mrs. Alcira is very helpful and I enjoyed being in her class. The only problem I had with her is that she teaches way too fast like she gets too carried away. But In overall, she is a great teacher! and I totally recommend her! :) Attendance is not necessary but I suggest you go to class every single day. Do not miss out on anything!

This is an awesome teacher. I failed this class 2x already. I took her and she was very passionate about math and actually knew how to teacher. Yes! I agree she teaches fast and misses steps but if you asked her to slow down. She will. If you do the online work you will pass. I got a 'B' because of her. And I am now taking her for MFG2107.

She is an awesome professor if you ask her for the help she will give it to you. She loves for students to ask questions and if even one student does not understand something she goes over it. If you do the computer work and attend class to get the lesson you will do great with her. Extremely helpful!!!!

She is awesome .if you do the example that she go over in class in do the computer work you will be fine. I love her teaching style. That's how every teacher should teach. I had a few rough times in her class but it was all my fault. She was still great and she helped me catch back up. Awesome teach.

Math XL used for 20 quizzes over 4 chapters = 20% of grade (can take anytime up to due date). Can retake to receive 100%. Test are mult. choice =80% of grade. Goes over quiz questions in class. Gives few notes as necessary. Fast paced. Helps to do MathXL homework-but not part of grade. I liked her a lot, but be strong on prerequisite math concepts.

Professor Alcira is the best! Math is my weak spot, this was the third time taking the class(first with her) and I got a B. Her tests are on scantron and quizzes are on mathxl, you can take the quizzes as many times as possible till your happy with your grade. She is a great person and teacher!

Ms. Alcira is a great teacher! It was literally the easiest class. She went over what was going to be on the exam for the first hour of class so you wouldn't be confused. She takes her time with each individual student. She's just awesome! Highly recommend her for any Math class or just life lesson classes!

She is not always very clear but clear enough.. She loves questions and will be happy to answer any. She is very helpful and will work with you if you can not make it on test day etc.

If you are not good at math, this class may be challenging because she is fast paced, but she is willing to slow down and go over problems again. Attend all of the classes and go to the reviews before the exams, do the HW, ask questions, and you'll be fine!

She is really nice and friendly. The class was a little face paced (I took it in the summer though), but she is more than willing to slow down and go over problems multiple times as long as you ask. You don't need the textbook itself, but you will need MathXL (which has the textbook online). She will work with you if you need extra help. :)

Nice caring teacher but fast paced. But there is tools around school if you need help. Don't take in summer if math is confusing to you. With M/c tests its definitely do able.

Very thorough math teacher. She didnt feel she had gone over a few of the questions on final and gave us 3 answers. You put the work in, you will pass.

I was not excited for math at all but professor Anaze was very entertaining and made frequent real-life comparrisons to the topics. Im in high school but she made it easy for everyone class age range of 17-50. Very helpful and knowladgable.

Ms. Alcira is the most outstanding professor I've had during my college career. She has managed to make math, a subject I've always had difficulty with, a little bit less stressful. She is incredibly helpful and an overall excellent teacher. You should absolutely take her class-- you definitely won't regret it!

I was really dreading this class but Ms. Alcira is an amazing professor. She's actually interested in your success. We had 20 quizzes on MathXL, 4 exams (one gets dropped), and a final. It's not an easy A, but if you study and do the quizzes, you can do well in this class. I got an A! I would definitely recommend Ms. Alcira.

Ms. Alcira was very helpful and kept the class interesting. Summer Class was fast paced. If you have questions you need to ask them and she will slow down. I love Prof Alcira! She may be a bit fast but makes math easy to understand, especially for some who are afraid of math. (ask questions if you need to.) I have not taken a math class for 13 years and I am so thankful I had her. I took her for ALL of my math classes and couldn't have ask for a better teacher. The work load was not over the top.

Easy way to learn college algebra without failing. She is awesome, speaks fast but she is only getting excited about her teaching. Only 4 tests and quizzes no homework. Passed with an A in the course. If you want an easy math class she is the one to go to.

Alcira is a great teacher. I love how she takes her time to write the notes with you so you can understand them. For the average person who struggles with math- as long as you do the homework, dont get behind, and ask questions in class you will pass. We used the text book for practice problems, you need to purchase the computer program.

Ms. Alcira was a pretty good math teacher. You must however do some amount of work. If you are anything like me and you are pushing for the A, it's definitely possible. I received a B in this class because of procrastination with the online quizzes on my math lab. Missed 14 quizzes. If you're not good at math, read other comments :p Overall good.

I am a DE student is such a good teacher and tells you everything that will be on the test no way you can fail! You learn a lot oh told of that she is super funny so you won't get bored and has a pretty face.

I'm kinda surprised to see some poor ratings on here. There was one test I found to be difficult, but it was the hardest chapter, and she will help you! I'd take this class over statistics any day :)

Great teacher willing to help her students the best she can to help them pass I love her class there's no homework just quizzes and you may take them as many times as you want until you get your grade you want. TEST ARE NOT TOO BAD SHE REVIEWS BEFORE EACH TEST. BOOK NOT REQUIRED BUT THE ACCESS CODE IS.

Very nice teacher. Clear on what grading criteria is from the beginning. Tests are the same as reviews just different numbers. Love questions! Very helpful even on tests would guide you in the right direction wo giving you the answer. Would take again! Book not needed but code is to do hw. You can always keep track of your grade on mathxl.

Overall she's a good professor. She does go very fast and does offer an explanation if you ask a question regarding a problem. I spent way too much time in the math lab and if I wouldn't have I would not have passed. She does give 4-5 quizzes as homework to prep you for a test over the course of about two weeks and they have unlimited submission.

If you're looking for an EASY A take this class with Ms. Alcira!! She is very helpful and answers any questions you may have. Her pace may be a little fast, but she explains all the information clearly. Don't bother buying the text, everything is posted on MyMathLab. And she drops the lowest test grade at the end of the semester. Love her!

For a three hour class she kept it fun and focussed. Im not that great in math, but i was comfortable with the material because she is willing to do ten examples(she actually did this) of the same style problem as long as you ask. She will go quickly if you don't speak up, but she urges you to ask.

I took this class in the summer and got a B. I haven't taken MAC1033 for 7 years though! It was tough catching up, but with Prof Alcira, I was able to pull it off. I highly recommend her because she gives plenty of chances to ask questions. She also drops the lowest test grade. I bombed my first test, which motivated me to do better on the rest!

Excellent professor! Professor Alcira can really teach math to break it down to simple concepts that is easy to understand. If you're stuck on a certain topic, she will work with you on it to make sure you understand it.

SPOILER ALERT! This professor is for people that math and algebra comes easy to them because she is very fast paced. If you are someone that needs more help and step by step explaining, you can get by at the ASC lab or find another professor. Personally I loved the class and the way she teaches! OH SHAZAM!! Professor Alcira is hands down THE best Math teacher at IRSC! She is a very inspiring, understanding, respectable, caring and Nice teacher. I haven't taken math in such a long time and she put math in such a simple way for me to understand! She's a great professor! She goes through everything really fast but she makes sure she's clear about everything. She only took the quizzes from MML as a homework grade. She loves questions!! The only downside is that she takes awhile to answer emails. Shazam!

If you have a slower learning pace when it comes to mathematics, you may not want to take this class during the summer. You do not need a graphing calculator to pass, but it definitely will benefit you. Overall, it was a great class. Also, it is HIGHLY recommended you buy a GRAPHING calculator for her class. Helps immensely.

The class was very enjoyable and learned a lot of new things. This was my first math class in 30 years and I got an A so it wasn't very difficult. Professor is almost too fair when it comes to giving extra time to do old work or pushing off a test, but then the material is condensed at the end. Allows class to vote. Very funny but fair teacher

I loved Ms Alcira. I wish I could take her for every class. She truly cared about us passing her class and would even stay after to make sure we understood it. She would even go off topic to explain things to us other teachers weren't willing to explain, like how stocks work and about scholarships we would apply for. An absolute angel.

Loved having professor Alcira. She was so caring and attentive. She'd always make sure our class understood the lesson and if you didn't she'd give examples. There is quite an amount of homework but all online. They're not too bad. Her class is kinda easy, so if you show up do your work and take notes you'll pass no doubt.

This was the third time I took this subject, It was always hard for me to understand the subject because of how boring some professors were. She has lots of homework due between every test, but in math that is expected. She is hilarious and truly shows how much she loves her job.

Teaches all course content and problems throughout the course, but can move quickly at times. Reasonable amount of work outside of class. Tests are 80% weight. Provides Pretests similar to a study guide that are nearly equal representation of the upcoming tests content. 3-4 tests drops lowest test score if 4. All in all quite enjoyable class.

I love Ms. Alcira. She does her best to cater to her students and adjusts assignments and tests according to how well people are doing. I consider the class fairly easy; it's a combination of Algebra I and II. As long as you keep up with your work (unlike me), you'll be alright. She does assignment questions in class, which is helpful.

Professor Alcira is a great teacher who tries to cater to students. The class is manageable if you keep up with the work. I found unstuck AI helpful for test prep alongside the textbook. She teaches quickly, so stay engaged.

Love Professor Alcira! She has been my favorite math teacher since my sophomore year of high school. I was super nervous about taking college math, but she had made everything so easy and fun! 1/2 Professor Anaze is an amazing teacher. She doesn't make you feel stupid for asking any questions she literally encourages you to ask them. I'm REALLY not good at math but I studied super hard and did the quizzes she will tell you what type of question will be on the test by using the quizzes. 80% test 20% quiz and homework. You have to study.

Tests matter!! If you aren't doing the homework TAKE the quizzes. This teacher is flexible for the class and also kind, don't take it for advantage.
