Andras is a nice guy, but this is a difficult class. He will go over the very basic concpets in class, and when it comes time to complete your assingments, you will have no idea how to do them. A+ prof Here's what you need to succeed in this class: 1) attend lectures and take notes (better yet, bring a printout of slides with you to class and annotate) 2) seek out marosi during office hours. he is extremely helpful for clarifying difficult concepts 3) pick a good group for the group presentation (mine pretty much gave up half way through)

I have nothing against Andras, but I am posting because Bus 201 is a joke. The grades you get are no reflection of the effort you put in. Your grades depend on how lucky you are to get an easy or tough marker since the class is marked by undergrad students. The business faculty is abusing its power by making this class mandatory. Good luck.

Andras is probably the best finance prof in the UofA undergraduate business school. FIN 422 is an awesome class and I would recommend everyone that takes this class takes it with him. Awesome at explaining concepts in lecture, and is accessible outside of class to clear up questions. Would take every finance taught by Andras if there was more

Professor Marosi is an A+ professor. His course was challenging, however, that is to be expected with Capital Investment & Budgeting (422). He was available for any questions and takes a genuine interest in your financial literacy. I wish the UofA finance faculty takes notes from this guy. Best finance professor in UofA by far!!!

Andras is a lazy prof. FIN301 has a lot of material, but he just read off his slides and didn't go through examples. Even his solutions are lazy and didn't show the work, so if you were lost, the practice was no help. I am disappointed with this class. It was not easy for me, good luck.

This class was a complete waste of time. I know it's mandatory to graduate but what a poorly constructed course. Andras did nothing the entire year- he had guest lecturers teach every class and the seminar managers (TA's) were extremely rude, slow, and unhelpful. I had the worst group I've ever had to work with. Rough.

The course was completely a mess. Although online teaching brought difficulties, I don't believe they put enough efforts to overcome, and even to plan for those challenges. There is no excuse to have a big technical issue in midterm, and to send a single announcement multiple times to make corrections.

As a professor Andras was fantastic, he seemed to genuinely care about the success of students. Unfortunately for the course it was a disaster, almost none of the material we learned was cohesive, Andras really only taught a handful of lectures, the rest were guest speakers. The TAs have no consistency when grading, it was just a mess of a course.

Andras seems like a really nice guy, but this class is a catastrophe, class size is huge and most of the heavy lifting is done by seminar managers and TA's who really let him down. The marks are seemingly random (my group had a horrific presentation but received well above the average mark). It's also more work than all my other classes combined.

Had him for bus201 but since we had so many guest lecturers, he barely taught us. Not much to go off of for rating, but the lectures were mostly clear and the test wasn't too hard. if you are in this class, the lectures aren't necessary to go to after the midterm (as there is no final) but go to all seminars because those are for the projects

Andras is lazy, he brings guest lecturers for everything and tests you on tiny tidbits of information that they say. You have to hope you get a good group or its incredibly rough. It takes weeks to get marks back even for basic MC tests. Grading is very inconsistent. You are marked by other undergraduates that have clearly different standards so.

Andras is the best finance prof I've had. He is a deliberate lecturer, and doesn't waste time. That said, manages to give the class a laugh or two. Assigns a project which actually gives you a legitimate modelling/equity research experience, and lays out expectations for exams crystal clear. Don't expect an easy A though, you have to work for it.
