Alden is amazing!!! She never keeps you the full amount of class time in fact there have been times that I have only been in class for 15 mins. She explains the essays perfectly and is not a tough grader at all. If your class is good she will cancel class for the rest of the week just to be nice! If you have her you are very lucky!!!

Dr. Alden really wants you to do well. She has you write your papers in class so if you have any questions you can ask them. Go to draft conferences, it could be the difference between a B & an A. Professor Aldean is beautiful and smart. She is always ready to help and has a younger persona so she relates well to students. She will do a lot for you to help your grade. You do have to participate in class for it to be easy for you.

I have never been motived in any English class but this class was different. Dr. Alden gives you free reign on each assignment because of this I did better on the papers. Her powerpoints usually have some humor so it is not completely boring. Her memes in each powerpoint motivated me to come to class, lame but it worked.

This class is definitely my favorite English class I've taken, and Dr. Alden makes every day interesting. We get out of class 30+ minutes early regularly. Essays are explained and we are given a chance to draft in class, and then we also get the chance to have it edited by the IA or professor before turn in. 10/10 reccomend.

This woman is a saint! I LOVE Dr. Alden! There are only three papers due in her class and she will give approximately three weeks per paper. She truly cares about the well being of her students and making sure they succeed. Very easy class. I am taking her again next semester for ENG-106. She also brought in her baby hedgehog to class once.

Prof. Alden is AWESOME. She has great lectures (even in the early morning classes), gives great feedback, and is big on peer reviewing so all of your papers get critiques before you turn them in. She's a very "chill" teacher who cares for all of her students. She's laid back but also a great and knowledgable professor.

Though she is an easy grader and very lax on a lot of things, she has so much knowledge that class was fun to even just listen to sometimes. I didn't feel like it was so much an English class as a research class, but it was fun to see and she was easy to talk to. I would take a class with her, again.

Alden is SO funny, keeps class entertaining. All essays are straight to the point & easy to understand the directions for. Only issue I experienced was that her IA's graded different than her-confusing, not her fault though. She's great & will help you outside of class & gives week off before essay is due to get help.

Easiest class this year, and she actually helped me with my writing abilities. She posts most lectures online, so you don't need to go to class for the work but more so just for participation. She always lets you out early, the longest she has kept us is an hour. But usually she only keeps us for 30-45 minutes.

If youre looking for an easy A, take this class. Shes funny, shes clear on assignment instructions, and she has you do most of your writing in class. Most days she only keeps you for about 45 minutes which is so nice.

Favorite Professor on campus! She is straight and to the point with what she wants done and is funny while lecturing at the same time. She engages students and is not a tough grader. most everything for Eng-240 was done in class. she offered 5% FIVE PERCENT extra credit at the end of class. alternate assignments for most everything so that every major could get something out of the course. super helpful. made an 8am fun (didnt think it was possible). willing to help in any situation. cool & spunky.

Hands down my favorite teacher here at Grand Canyon University. She gives you class time to write your essay and walks you through it. Her class is fun and engaging. On top of that she lets you make appointments with her so she can review her essay. All my life I was sure I was a horrible writer until I got her class.

Andrea Alden is an amazing professor! I had her for ENG 105 and ENG 106 and I had great grades in both classes. She clearly lays out what needs to be done, and as long as you do the work you will get a good grade. She usually says no class on Wednesdays and puts memes in front of all her powerpoints. Sometimes she even brings in her pet hedgehogs!

Overall, Dr. Alden was a spectacular professor. It was extremely obvious that she values her students and truly desires them to succeed. There are about 3 or 4 papers due per semester and they are all relatively easy to write because she provides so many examples. She is not a hard grader AT ALL and gives you draft conferences to help you improve.

While this is a senior level course and we've taken English courses before this, Professor Alden is a great professor but doesn't provide much information in this course. Lectures don't pertain to our assignments at all and don't help. She mostly jokes around but didn't teach the material we needed. She's fun but not very serious.

I've taken Prof. Alden twice now (ENG105 & ENG106), because I liked her so much the first time. There were only 3 papers per class (Most were <5 pages), which was easy enough. She was probably one of my favorite teachers I have taken at GCU, I would gladly recommend her to just about anyone.

I'm a freshman at GCU and Alden is one of my favorite professors on campus! I have never felt so confident in writing English papers until taking her class. Her IA's are equally as respected as they also partake in helping grade essays throughout the semester. I would definitely retake Alden and definitely recommend her to incoming freshmen.

Professor Alden was a fantastic professor whose lectures were super interactive and informative, the classes were always less than an hour long. The grade is primarily based on 3 essays. She makes the essay process straightforward and the week before the essay is due she holds review sections where she grades the paper and tells what to fix.

Honestly, this was my easiest class because of how Professor Alden teaches. ENG-105 is just three papers so as long as you follow the power points and listen to what she talks about in class, it will be an easy A. She also gives great feedback and is very helpful during draft conferences so you can receive the grade you want.

Dr. Alden is so fun and genuinely wants her students to succeed. She truly taught me how to break up my essays for the rest of my college career so that they never become too much to handle. She makes lectures entertaining and is just so nice!

In Dr. Aldens ENG-105 class, her lectures were incredible and kept the attention of all the students in the class. She clearly explained all of the assignments and essays we had to do as well as clearly explained APA citations and how to do them, since many of her students used MLA in high school. She was a great teacher and gave great feedback!

Professor Alden was incredible! She is hilarious and actually makes the class enjoyable. She understands that this is a gen-ed and nobody wants to show up; so she makes her classes short and interesting. Just make sure you format papers correctly and you'll pass.

Professor Alden was one of the best and easiest English teachers I've had. Her expectations of essays are clear and simple and she provides many opportunities, like one-to-one meetings, to improve and check your essays. She slayed and I would recommend her for an easy semester.

She has been the only professor at gcu who has broke my pattern of procrastination. The way she breaks down the essay into smaller chunks that are required to turn in made me finish every essay early. Before final drafts are due you get a 1 one 1 conference with your grader and they basically tell you how to get an A with their feedback.

The best professor at GCU. I was lucky to have Dr. Alden for both ENG-105 and 106. She had interesting lectures that were never boring and was always engaging with the class. All essays are drafted in class which makes it super easy to get them done on time. Get Dr. Alden if you can, she is hilarious, kind, and just overall an amazing professor.

Attendance is mandatory but as long as you read the powerpoints and follow her criteria you will get an A on all papers and can miss some class.

Super sweet professor and not a hard course at all. It was 3 essays for the semester and they were all spread out super well and I was given plenty of time for each. Definitely go to her or the IA's for help and you will have a good grade. Classes aren't super long or lecture heavy, and on the longer days it's pretty enjoyable to be there.

This was my first English class in college but after having Dr. Alden, I would not want to take English with any other professor. She was hilarious, kind, and straight to the point in her lectures, which is appreciated instead of adding unnecessary fluff. She is very helpful, and we were usually able to leave class early. Show up and you will pass!

I loved her for english and cannot reccomend enough for this class. She is funny and does not make the lectures long or boring. For essays, we only had 3 including the final, she will make meetings with us before we submit the final to ensure we are meeting criteria and it is good overall. I love her and I wish I could take this class again.

Only 3 essays all semester that make up over 70% of the grade. They are very easy and you get to choose your topics, but make sure to do your best on them. Attendance is mandatory but she gives 3 freebies that allow you to receive an excused absence.

This class was hybrid, so we didn't have to go on thursdays. She always let us out early to go work elsewhere, but also left the room open for help! She was very helpful with our essays and she was very easy going!
