If you want to pass Bus. Calculus I Class, then take this professor's class. She is VERY helpful in explaining the subject matter, and her reviews are structured the same way as the tests, except for the actual problems :-) If you look like you might have trouble understanding the problem, she will stop the lecture and help. GREAT PROFESSOR!!!

Prof Blum Rules! She really cares about math, her 'math is awesome' attitude makes it really easy to learn the material. Her class isn't easy if you just blow it off, but if you pay attention there's no way you won't get an A. I mean it! I wish all teachers loved what they taught so much, it really makes you love learning and coming to class!

I took both my Cal 1 and Cal 2 from her and I loved her classes. She has organized notes and goes over a broad range of questions for each chapter. So when you do your homework on the book you could pretty much do most of it by reviewing your notes. She has four tests and one optional final test.

Took her last Fall. She's the best there is as far as clarity goes. She covers everything in detail and if you ask what amounts to a dumb question, as I did a few times, she doesn't make you feel like you should have known. Very professional and highly recommended.

Professor Blum is great! She goes out of her way to make sure that the students know and understand the problems. If you are willing to take the time to stay after class then she is also. Tests are hard and you must study. However you will walk away knowing math better than ever

Do the homework, don't procrastinate. She always explains everything thoroughly and will make sure everybody understands. Made it very easy. Four tests, homework, and a final. Final is optional, homework grade is meant to help boost your grade as well. Great teacher, highly recommended.

An overall good teacher. Show up to class and take notes. Tests are a bit difficult, sometimes big questions are only quickly covered in the lecture. 4 tests and a final, lowest grade out of the 5 is dropped. Homework can raise your grade. Def recommend doing it, it raised my B test average to an A in the class over. Would recommend her class.

I really enjoyed Prof. Blum's class. She teaches visualization and comprehension of math concepts rather than rote memorization. Homework is turned in quarterly allowing you to work at your own pace, and she allows you to drop or substitute the final for a previous test grade. She's also very helpful during office hours. Great professor.

Prof. Blum is incredibly fair and clear. She's not overly easy, but also provides tons of extra help if you ask. I loved this class!

Mrs. Blum is a GREAT teacher. She explained topics very concisely which allowed for concept understanding, versus memorizing a bunch of formulas, etc. Highly recommended.

Professor Blum has has the most straight forward requirements for her class. She allows the students to choose if they want to rely solely on the tests or tests and homework for their grade. She is my favorite professor by far.

Andrea is the best math teacher EVER! Her way of explaining math really makes sense to me, and she is willing to work with students who are struggling. She gives an option to do test corrections if you don't do well and also drops the lowest test grade. She is the bomb.

She is a free spirit! very bubbly, very funny. She taught me Intermediate Algebra and i got a B on the class, considering I usually classify myself as not very good at math. She is a good teacher, but kinda tough on homework assignments.

Professor Blum is probably the best math teacher I've ever had. She makes calculus seem as easy as high school algebra. It is calculus, so there is a lot of homework, but not more than any other math class I've taken.

My wife recently gave birth to our first child. I wanted to go back and finish my degree so I could provide a better future. I took Calculus 1 over the summer and was very impressed with Andrea Blum's lectures. I am now in Calculus 2 and I am still using her notes! She is a hidden gem and her attitude is awesome. She is super nice and is always very helpful. She gives very clear explanations and always tries to make sure that we are all prepared for the test. She even says herdelf that the tests are difficult, which they are, but she gives out very helpful reviews. There is a lot of homework but it is all very helpful!

Honestly, I wish there were teachers like her. Her patience and positive attitude is rare and is very welcoming. My God, where would I be today if all my math classes were taught be her. Very professional and wants to see you do well. Hands down one of the best experiences of university level math I have ever taken.

I would recommend her to family and friends. Amazing at taking complex ideas and turning it into simple understandable ones. This the kind of professor you want to take. After running into so many bad professors I finally found a gem. Test reviews were excellent and lectures were crystal clear. Happy personality is very refreshing to have in class.

Ms. Blum is a solid, good teacher. She really cares, enjoys answering questions, and really takes the time to explain. She respects peoples' different learning styles and is understanding but will still push you to do well. Only downfall is the expectation of 8 hours a week- it's intense, but necessary to finish ALEKS. It will affect your grade.

I took her class in the spring and I'm glad I did. I was obviously not prepared to take this course but she is such a positive force that I never skipped her class, despite it easily being my most difficult. I barely passed; that was all the math I need for my BSLS. Yet now I have this zeal for math that's even inspired my friends to learn it!

I had her for ALEKS and MATH 1314. She genuinely cares about her students. She grades on work shown, not just on final answer which is how I passed. Show up,do HW, you will pass

Prof. Blum is the best. I learned ALOT in her three different classes. I finally got through math beacause of HER and I would take math again just to have a class with her, and I HATE math! She's funny, interesting and very intelligent. Loved her.

The best decision I made during my time at ACC was to take Andrea for math. I had dropped algebra twice before her & was so anxious taking it again. But she is amazing! I felt comfortable w/ her & she was so easy to follow along w/. 4 test grades & a hmwk grade, each worth 20%. With her help I made A's on 3 of the 4 tests (so crazy for me!)

She is the sweetest person I know! Her lesson are well-organized and her tests are not too hard if you know the material and practice! DO the HW assignment and the review and you should be fine. 4 tests and a final exam (optional if you did the other 4 tests and if you like your grade on them). She is easily accessible outside of class!

She is a great teacher. She does lots of examples in class and truly cares whether you learn the material. For most of the tests she even came out over the weekend and spent hours reviewing with us. Definitely recommend!

Her lectures are organized and her examples are helpful, making the homework much easier than some other math classes. The tests are always given in the testing center, so take advantage of your time!

I followed Professor Blum from 1314-PreCal and I must say she is an amazing professor. I have asked many obvious question (x >1) to ensure I understand the question or answ. She does not get frustrated , instead, she is patience and kind. I recommend her if you are looking for a professor who is organize, easy to understand and challenges you.

Professor Blum is patient and kind when explaining concepts, and she really cares about her students. Homework is assigned every class, but there are always opportunities to ask questions at the beginning and throughout the lecture. Tests are tricky, but if you do the reviews, you'll be fine.

Tough Professor but she'll make other math courses easier. I recommend taking her if you require higher math. She'll cut out all the BS.

Great knowledge in calculus. Come to class and you will really understand the concepts. Like any calculus class, she will give quite a number of questions for homework but 4 homework grades will be dropped. I took PreCal (MATH 2412) and Cal 1 (MATH 2413) w/ Professor Blum. She is patient and always willing to answer students' questions. Big fan of her grading system, which was the same in both courses. Homework due 1 week after being assigned w/ 4 lowest grades dropped. 4 exams w/ a optional comprehensive final that replaces lowest test grade.

I was really pleased with Prof. Blum's lecutres as they were always clear and thorough. I was also pleased with her grading- you do the homework and even if your answer was wrong she'll give you some credit for actually doing the work. She's a GOAT, Super Caring, took her for Pre-Calc, and you can tell she still has the love for the game, which translates to enthusiasm and thats essential for math.

She is always patient with her students and always there for office hours incase you need the extra help or choose to study a bit more. She has clear grading criteria and assignments. The material assigned will be used to help you.

Professor Blum can give a lot of homework, however, the homework really helps understand the course content better. She also drops four of the homework grades at the end of the semester. I definitely recommend taking notes during her lectures. Askings questions during and after class will also help with understanding the material better.

Dr. Blum is a great professor. She does assign homework that is due every lecture day, and they are very time-consuming to finish. However, they prepare you for the exams if you take the homework seriously. Unless you have strong time management skills, I recommend having this as the only rigorous class in your schedule.

Prof. Blum taught the subject well. My only 2 problems with her is the hw and handwriting; There was way too much hw I know it helped some ppl, but it was unnecessary for me. I ended up not doing any hws and getting a hw avg of 50. Her handwriting is kind of trash but she knows this and more than makes up for it, so it wasn't really an issue for me

Your grades come from just the homework assignments and the 4 tests she gives out throughout the semester. Be prepared to do homework, if you don't do it you won't pass!!! If you do better on the final compared to your lowest test score from the semester she'll replace it with your score from the final!
