Professor Boito is an excellent choice for anyone who struggle with math. She is clear with formulas and is always willing to go over things if you have questions. While attendance isn't mandatory, it's in you bets interest not to skip class, as well as do the practice problems in the book
One of my favorite teachers I've had at Altoona. She makes everything super easy and simple to understand and gives you an equation sheet for each quiz and exam that has basically everything you need on it.
She is one of the best teachers at Altoona and I would say the best when it comes to stat. As long as you attend class you will be fine. Never has she called out a student unless they were being rude. As long as you go to class and practice outside of class you will get a great grade. Her lectures are critical and easy.
Professor Boito is overall an easy and good professor. However, for a 200 level statistics class, I expected to learn more. If you are going to need statistics in your field one day, I would not recommend taking her because once you're in grad school you will know much less than everyone else because she doesn't go in-depth on topics.
Shes a stricter teacher, if you dont do well it seems like she judges you instead of helping you. If you come late to class she will hold it against you. Also she will NOT round a grade even if it is .01% away from being a letter grade higher. Other than that shes good teacher. Dont skip class.. easy at first. Then gets harder.
Prof. Boito is a very good professor but she is kind of a tough grader. She will not round anyones grade. If you come to class late she will call you out, the class starts out easy at first but then it gets crazy hard so go to class.
Except for the binomial chapter I didn't use the textbook once. Love the prof though. She gives you every single thing you need to succeed: discussions to ask questions, cheat sheets for tests, immediate feedback on all assignments, and two attempts at each weeks chapter quiz.
Mrs Boito has a very good teaching method and is also a very kind lady. She makes it very clear what will be on tests and quizzes and gives good study guides. You can always ask questions during class although she is very good at explaining concepts so you wont need to. Only homework are the optional study guides which are easy if you attend class
She's very helpful if you're not understanding a concept. If you can do the quiz/exam reviews you will get an A on the quiz/exam.
Great!
By far one of the best professors at altoona and shes so sweet LOVEDDD her. She has homeworks on canvas for each chapter (you get 4 tries each so you should definitely get 100 on all of them)and it really helps for quizzes and exams. Make sure you go to class bc if you dont youre truly screwed. If you dont get something ask bc shell show you.
She is the best professor at altoona by far she is the sweetest human ever and she really cares that her students understand the material. If you dont get something definitely ask even if its right after class shes so willing to help. This summer i was so nervous about this class and was going to drop but its my highest grade at a 98%.Def take!
She is by far the best Stat professor I have ever had. She does a very good job at explain concepts and making sure you better understand what you are learning and how to apply it. If you are taking a stat class and she is a professor for that particular course, Id pick her 100%.
Great professor! Will help you if you ask for it. A really nice person and explains the material nicely. I took this class for math credits and do not like math but she made this class so much better than it could have been.
This professor is what you would expect and need for STAT200. I took this coruse via World Campus and found the integration of online textbooks and YouTube video lectures perfect, and do watch all the lecture videos, it helps. The Mid-terms and Final allow you to have one page (Front and back) of notes so take advantage. Easy pass if you try.
Professor Boito was a great professor! I took this class as a WEB class. Every 2 weeks there was lectures and homework (all online no textbook needed). She even has study guides for every exam. Only thing was we had lots of easy group projects. Overall was super easy, just make sure to turn everything in by the due date (no late work accepted).
Take her you wont go wrong. Easy A class, just put in the effort. Do all the assignment. She drops the two lowest quiz and hw.
Prof. Boito's class was well organized and I appreciated the online lectures provided. Each week had a hw, lab, and quiz due but they were straight-forward if you read the notes/watched the lectures. Super quick grader and offered feedback and clarified material where needed. She was also super encouraging throughout the course. Great teacher!
For someone who struggles with math and having to take this course completely on the web, Andrea was a great professor. She gives a clear outline of how you should get everything done and is willing to help you along the way as long as you put in the effort. She puts out study guides which are similar to exams. Only down side is the group projects.
She is super nice. Her lectures are very clear, and she is great at teaching. Since the class is online, you can watch the lectures and do the homework on your own time. The assignments are easy, and she gives you 4 chances for homework. Quizzes and exams are reasonable. She also gives an extra credit assignment that is worth a lot of points.
Anytime you email her she will tell you, you have something wrong with your computer or to contact Penn State IT. No matter what the email is about that will be her answer. She made us use Minitab Express and it was incredibly difficult to figure out how to set up and when she gives you instructions for it, it doesnt line up.
The class is challenging in a great way. It wasn't that difficult and it's easily passable. Prof gets back to you really quick and her grading doesn't take that long. There are about 3 exams and a quiz every chapter. Homeworks have multiple chances, so you can retry for a better grade.
She was helpful and quick to respond, but there are only a few tough graders that Ive come across in my entire years in school, and shes definitely one of them. I was really torn between taking her class and another instructor but risked it and took hers. Just a few weeks into the class I was about to swap for another instructor but was too late.
Ms. Boito was an awesome stats professor. She explains everything clearly and at a good pace. Use the quizzes to study for the exams because it's the same thing usually. She makes class interesting as could be, and is all around really nice! I suggest going to class because she covers a lot of material in one class.
I have always seemed to be more confused by math than my classmates which led me to believe that I was just "not good at math". This class completely changed my mind about that. Professor Boito explains things very much in-depth and takes the time to stop and answer all questions without judgment. If you pay attention, you should have no problem!
Amazing professor. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow even at 9am. Gives you reasonable amounts of homework with plenty of time to complete. Always provides worksheets before quiz/test that help guide your studying. So nice and approachable, making it easy to ask her questions. I really enjoyed her class and her!
Class was very made easy by her teaching philosophy and phenomenal lecture design. All concepts are explored thoroughly and applied very well to real-world ideas and examples. Ability to help out and assist incomplete understanding is excellent. Left the course with a full understanding and appreciation of the concepts and their applications.
Very well done class. Simple and explained thoroughly so anyone gets it. She will work with you. She simplifies the material and isnt out to trick anyone. The trick is, you have to show up to learn. Trust me, its worth it.
Go to class, take notes, and pay attention. Do the homeworks and show up to class on test and exam days. That's all. Great professor! You don't need a textbook.
I could go on for quite a while about how great of a professor Andrea is. She makes the class very welcoming and from the first day you know its going to be one of your most bearable classes. She is always willing to help, and breaks everything down well. I took math 36 with her last spring and I'm taking stat 200 this fall. Favorite professor.
She randomly takes off from class for a week but requires extensive documentation if you need to miss a quiz or exam for any reason.
She was a good teacher when it came to learning material if you actually attended class. However, she does post a lot of homework and you have a lot of tests throughout the semester. She is awful if you miss class and need to make up work since she will only give you one extra day and you must provide documentation if you miss a class.
The previous reviews are accurate. However, take them with a grain. This was a STAT class, I expected nothing less than what she assigned. I was nervous to learn STAT at first, based off all the stories I heard but ProfBoito made it so simple and quite fun. If you miss class, good luck but it isn't hard to go, she might even cancel just because.
Professor Boito is the best math professor I have ever had! She makes you feel like you really do know math and she appreciates it when you try your best. She gives extra credit and her lectures are easy to follow. She does give quizzes but she is always there to help if needed. I highly recommend taking her class.
Wow, what a great professor. If you have to take STAT 200, take her class. She gets right to the point with the material and doesn't try to trick you on quizzes and exams. Amazing professor, would take her again if I could.
Professor Boito reminds me of those great high school teachers we took for granted. She breaks everything down step by step, passes out printed lecture notes prior to class, and is an extremely fair grader. She does Kahoots, games, extra credit, and the works. She will give you everything you need to succeed.
*as a person who is bad at math* Her quizzes and Exams are curated to be accurate to the material. She is VERY caring and helpful. You just have to put the work in to learn the material. The exams are HEAVILY graded, but you'll be fine if you show up and practice. She even makes the material interesting.
Professor Boito is a very clear and concise teacher. She makes hard material easy to understand and has great techniques to remember information. Her review sheets are very close to the exam material, and her homework have multiple attempts. Definitely recommend for any statistics class you take at Altoona.
I loved this class! Professor Boito was so helpful, & all of her lectures were clear. She explains topics well, so don't hesitate to ask questions! There were never any surprises on the homework, quizzes, or exams. Homework assignments are easy, & you have lots of time to do them. You get a formula sheet for tests, so no worries about memorization!
Boito is very sweet. Her STAT200 was set up in a way that each assignment prepares you for exactly what you can expect on the exams. As someone who has never been good at math in school, I passed this class with an A+. Do all of the assignments (they're not bad at all) and do the extra credit reviews and you'll be fine!
Boito is very sweet and nice. She care very much about her student. Her STAT 200 was set up in a way that each assignment prepares you for exactly what you can expected on the exams. As someone who has never been good at in math, I passed this class with an A-. Do all of the assignments and do the extra credit reviews and you'll be fine! Lover her!
Professor Boito is one of the best professor is have ever had. She is so understanding and I ALWAYS willing to help. If you do bad in the class it is probably because you didn't show up or pay attention because she is so clear with the material in her lectures. I would 100% take her again.
Boito is a caring professor who structures her STAT200 class to prepare you for the exams. As someone who struggles with math, I passed with an A- by doing all the assignments and extra credit. Unstuckstudy was also super helpful for study prep.
She is a great professor and is more than willing to help you.
Super nice and clear lecturer. So helpful to everyone, and fair grader. Not much homework, but what is assigned is fairly short. Occasional quizzes, she always tells us when they are. Does several examples, and always makes sure we understand. Love her!!
She's literally the actual worse. It's so hard and she goes really fast. And she doesn't even give partial credit.
just pay attention in class and you'll be fine, the course doesn't load you with a lot of work, and if you don't understand she'll always get you to understand before moving on so make sure you ask questions if you are stuck
She's actually really nice, and I love her teaching style. As long as you show up to every class and pay attention, you will easily pass the class. Everything is very straightforward. Attendance is graded at the end of the semester, so make sure you show up. Workload is light.
Dr. Boito is really a great stat professor. She is a very forgiving grader on the exams, which is good because the exams are a big part of your grade. She also posts her lecture videos online so you can go back and watch them. This class is very self-explanatory, and as long as you go to class or watch the videos, you will do well.
She sets you up for success. All the resources you could possibly need, she gives you. She posts the lectures online in case you miss, she always has things organized in canvas. She grades so fast it's actually crazy. Definitely one of the best teachers I've had through my life. If you have the option to take her, do it. Also, so stylish!
