Andrea is a very good instructor who is always helpful and clear. Her class is very structured making it a very easy class to take. Aside from that she is also a very pleasant person which makes the class that much better.
I took this class at night during Summer quarter. Not the best idea. Too much info in too short of a period of time. Wish we could have spent more time going over homework problems, however, Andrea wants you to succeed. She's never guilty of making her students feel stupid if they don't understand a concept.
A very good instructor. Very organized, and always willing help you understand the concepts. She is very pleasant, which makes learning much more pleasing. (No one likes a grumpy instructor ;) Her organization help keep you organized, and if you take notes on what she is teaching, you will be able to easily study for and pass the tests.
Andrea is a great teacher!!! she is very helpful to her students and is has lots of information for you that is easy to understand. She also gives review questions before a test so that you are ready for the test
Great teaching style and will work with you until you understand the material. Delightful both in and outside of class. Extremely fair in grading. Need more professors like her in the world.
Great teacher! Very understanding and helpful!
awesom and hot!!
Lots of tests
Best math teacher ever. I never understood math. Now, its a breeze. She is so good at what she does and she's hot too!!! 5's all around!!
Prof Cahan is very polite and understanding she lets us use notes and often kids are absent on test dates and she lets them take the test anyway
She is the best
Andrea is very upbeat and bubbly, clearly has a great deal of enthusiasm for her job. She explains things very well and always has a couple different ways to teach a topic. If you don't understand, she'll help you during office hours until you get it. If you want to succeed, she will make it happen. And she is RIDICULOUSLY smoking hot too, omg!
Outstanding professor. She wants you to succeed and if you DO THE WORK you will. I recommend this professor to all students who feel nervous about Math.
THE BEST MATH TEACHER IN EvCC!! I took her class and got an A! She gives extra credit. Very straight forward on her lectures and helpful! I will definitely take her class again!
Easy to understand, reasonable and clear. A very pleasant math class this time around. Also, incredibly good looking. Too bad she's married...
Super nice teacher who will explain a problem many different ways until you get it. I will take her for every math class that I can. She is as pretty as she is sweet!
Professor Cahan is a wonderful teacher this is my third time taking her. She explains w. such clarity and always gives us the oppertunity to ask questions and get help. She also lets you miss on test days and make up the test just email her and she will email you back right away. I have never had such a great math teacher!
I love her teaching style so much that I actually plan my schedule out in advance so I can have her as my math teacher.
She's great at what she does. She's accommodating, clear, and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better math teacher. Will definitely try to take her again!
Andrea is an amazing teacher. She really wants to help her students understand what it is that they're working on, and is always willing to go over problems for people who don't understand. She's also very accommodating to those who have missed class and need to catch up on what it is that they've missed so that they don't fall behind in class.
She is awesome!
Wonderful, beautiful lady! I did'nt pass her class BUT was of my own accord. She's amazing, takes time to reiterate if you have quesitons on the material she's trying to show you, exams are on key concepts, usually w/ a take-home section. If you go to class, she'll remember you, = more apt to grant lieniency, do the homework and you'll pass! :)
I really liked her, she was very nice and did a good job explaining the subject. I didn't like that your grade is based solely on exam scores, I suffer from terrible test anxiety and frequently do poorly on exams. I wish she had counted homework points as well.
I took most of my Math classes with this teacher. As much as I hate Math overall, I loved studying it with Andrea! SHe does an excellent job teaching, very clear explanations, fair grading and warm personality.
Awesome teacher! Made my first quarter back in school in 3 years so much better, just wish she taught higher math classes.
One of the best!!!!
Love Andrea!!!she is a great teacher!!! Math is harder for me to grasp, but Andrea is so good at explaining that I got everything the first time she said it. She gives you so many tips and tricks that make math so much easier. She is by far one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She is so good at what she does.
She really is a great teacher. I pretty much suck at math, it's not a strong subject for me. Andrea will take time to explain concepts, allow some wiggle room for homework, and is totally accessible if you need help. I rated her hot although I am a female, just because she's easy on the eyes and dresses casually which I find relaxing in a math clas
Andrea is by far my favorite teacher so far at this school. She is extremely helpful and is willing to explain problems again and again until you understand. She grades fairly tough on tests. Just make sure to show ALL of your work and you should be good. We didn't use the textbook much.
I loved Andrea! I missed two weeks of school and she was okay with me taking one exam early, and the next late till after I came back. She's very understanding. The course compass really helped me improve in math. She explains the concept of a problem well and answers email fast. She's extremely helpful!
Andrea is a great teacher. I had her for Math 80 and she explained things clearly and made things easy to understand and work out problems. Math is a hard subject for me so I had to work extra hard to pass the class and she made it easy by putting every problem with examples on the board. With hard work and her help I got out of there with a "B".
Andrea is a really great and helpful teacher. She cares about her student and understands that they have lives outside of class. She is really good at communicating. I really enjoyed having her as my teacher and hope to have her again. If math is a hard subject for you than she is a good choice.
I absolutely adore Andrea. I am taking my second quarter of math with her. she is very helpful and she never gets frustrated no matter how many times shes explained the same problem to you. With her help I pretty much taught myself algebra. Fabulous teacher!
I've always been terrible at math, until I took this class. Andrea was so helpful and really clear when explaining each section. She was willing to help outside of class and i'm taking another math course with her next quarter. Definitely the best math teacher i've ever had.
Great teacher! Nuff said.
I really love Andreas teaching style! She is willing to go over concepts until everyone understands and you can tell that she loves teaching, The tests were exactly what we learned and she allowed students to use a sheet of notes
Very awesome teacher. She is very clear and is extremely fair with grading. Made the accelerated class go by with ease. I highly recommend her class. There is a lot of homework but it really isn't that bad if you do a little every night.
Explains things in the BEST way! Andrea has ruined every other math teacher for me, because her teaching style is one that made me actually LIKE math and UNDERSTAND the info unlike any other math instructor. If you need to take a math class, take it with Andrea. Show up to class though, because she will tell you secrets about the tests during class
Amazing.
She is awesome! I went into this class expecting it to be stupid but she made it much more enjoyable. I hope I can manage to get into another one of her classes. She is super helpful and so nice!
She is very helpful and patient and helps you make sure you know the math pathway to you degree or future needs.
she is a very explicit peroson, good to understand. she is alsways there when you need her and gives the time to explain to you. she is a very inspiration person. Her lectures && homeworks are great to understand and easy to do because she does to good at teaching. she is ana amazing person to go for as a math teacher. VERY well RECOMMENDED.
If you are like me and find math challenging she is the teacher for you. She makes math make sense. Her lectures are worth gold if you want to pass and she really works with you.
There was way too much homework. Your mid term and final is 60% of your grade. Homework was only 10% and there was a lot of homework i'll tell you that! I will try avoid taking her in the future. I took her class based off of these reviews and regretted it the whole entire quarter.
I really enjoyed taking her math 91 class and I wish she was teaching 92 next quarter.
Super easy class. It went by like a breeze.
I had her for College Success online and she was so great to work with. She's very easy to talk to and responds quickly. In addition, the class material was relevant and really useful. I would definitely take a class with her again.
Challenging class with LOTS of extra homework. The class is weighed heavily on exams that are held in the evenings. Andrea is helpful and I enjoyed having her as my professor for this class. Sometimes it takes her a while to respond to help questions but her intention is good. The fact that it's online can make it hard to communicate math prob
It's an online class so you don't really get to work with Andrea a lot, but she's there if you need help and are frustrated and can't get a problem. The exams are tough, and there is a lot of homework both on the computer and written, as well as chapter quizzes; It requires a lot of time and effort. I would pick Andrea hands down as an instructor.
I took her online college success class and it was really easy. She really wants you to succeed so things aren't set up for you to fail. Clear instructor.
Always there to help, makes things easy and understandable.
Helpful, always available and a great instructor.
she makes math easy.
Get ready for hours of homework online and written. I took Algebra 1 and 2 in high school but when her coursework was presented, half of what we learned was stuff I haven't done in forever. Also if you are not a fast note taker, she will not stop or slow down for you. She was a good person but she could slow down with her teaching.
Being that I took the online class (COL101), I didn't have the opportunity to meet Andrea, but, by the way my class was organized, I infer that she's a pleasant person to be around. The class was embarrassingly easy; simply do the quick 2-3 assignments by Sunday night, and that's all you will do for the whole quarter.
You can skip class, but you will miss the material for the day and it may be hard to learn on your own. There is a lot of homework but it is very organized when it comes to when it is due. I thought she was a very good teacher and I think she did a good job at teaching the material.
Math is my worst subject, this teacher kind of made it bearable. The only thing I was a little upset about was that I had to drive to campus for both the midterm and the final exam, but the teacher can't change that. If you email her with a problem she is more than happy to help. Use MyMathLab, not Canvas. Written homework mandatory.
She has good energy, comes to class with a smile. Very organized and communicative about what we are learning and when. Teaching style is direct, easy to follow. Moves quickly through new material so ask questions! attentive to needs of class/students. Homework is easy A, she will go over any problems you need help with before grading
Loads of unnecessary homework, half the lessons she taught doesn't even help you complete the homework so you have to teach yourself how to do most of the material. Don't take her unless you don't mind spending an extra few hours teaching yourself the material.
(*Math in society-107) I struggle with math but Andrea is incredible. Not only does she show you step by step how to solve a problem, but she explains why it works the way it does and that helped me so much. She is kind and cares about her students. If I ever take another math class, I will definitely take it through her. Highly recommend!!
I am taking an online class but Andrea anytime I have emailed her about a question or issue she responds quickly and kindly. We spend 8-10 hours a week on ALEKS a math website- some writing assignments in canvas. One was late and she gave me full credit still. She also puts a smiley face in every correspondence. 10/10 would recommend!!
She cares about her students and is always willing to help. She goes out of her way to make sure people have extra credit.
This class was my third class with Andrea, and she is a great instructor! The class is well paced as you work with an easy program. She gives weekly extra credit and is available to help students with problems, she is open with meeting through Zoom as well for a check up on how you are doing in the quarter with the class. Shes really personable!
Professor Cahan is an amazing teacher. She was very understanding, helpful, kind, and would go out of her way to help out. If you are scared or not good at Math like I am, I'd recommend taking her class. It was an easy class and I felt I learned a lot from the class.
Great professor! Homework assigned every class day, make sure you don't fall behind. Lectures were not too bad, I mostly had to learn from PowerPoints on Person (online textbook) so I didn't like that. There was always an opportunity for extra credit, really easy. Only three exams but many quizzes. Overall 7/10
I took Andrea for Math 086 online, she was a great teacher. She used MyMathLab for assignments and quizzes, and we did not have a final exam. I ended the course with an A, as long as you do your homework and study you will enjoy this course.
Such a kind teacher and genuinely cares about her students, very approachable. I'd recommend getting ahead on the textbook (Pearson) before each class on that section and attending every lecture. For the most part you get what you put into this class; but she also gives ample opportunity for extra credit throughout the quarter, so don't miss out.
Honestly one of the most caring, helpful, and understanding teachers I've had. You can definitely pass this IF you take good notes for exams. The only downside is you HAVE to show work which means a lot of writing on top of all the chapters of homework you already did.
I am horrible at math and have failed my previous classes several times- until I took hers. she uses MML and the homework is accessible, quizzes can be retaken 3 times, and there are weekly accountability discussions you can do for 2pts extra credit. she is very helpful and clear on what to expect on exams, which there 3 and are 70% of your grade
Amazing lady! I recommend taking her in-person classes, she tells you what sort of questions will be on exams, she truly wants you to succeed. Most of the time she stays before and after class to help with anyone who as questions. Yes there is quite a bit of homework but its pretty easy. I would love to take her class again.
Cahan's class wasn't too bad. It was just a cut-and-paste class basically, but the work was easy. There was a final project we worked up to for like three weeks but it was really easy to complete.
Professor Cahan was awesome. I was nervous about taking an online class, especially math but she didn't make me feel overwhelmed at all with the assignments. You only meet once a month for the chapter exams, there's no final, and you can retake the quizzes up to 3 times to get the score you want. I highly recommend taking her class if possible.
Take her class!! Andrea is incredibly helpful and is always available to students-even over the weekend! There are up to 3 weekly tasks, either two homework and a quiz or just three homework assignments. Not sure why some say she assigns a lot; I thought the workload was light. Three exams- 70% of your grade. All homework is through MyMathLab.
2-3 assignments a week which are due by the test date, so it is easy to fall behind and procrastinate. Extra credit weekly which goes in the exam category, 3 exams total. You get to use notes on the exam and overall not a very stressful class. Quiz for every chapter which is online. Very helpful. Only downside is having to write out hw problems.
Professor Andrea Cahan was great, clear and concise grading. I love how we are able to work at our own pace as long as everything is turned in on time, this especially helpful while working full time. She's amazing! :)
I absolutely love this teacher. I can't do math to save my life but this teacher makes me actually learn math which is a miracle if you can teach me any math. I love the program that this class uses, it is self-paced and open note, it is a nice quiet, calm environment, no annoying lectures and talking for hours, just help when you need it. 10/10
Got aggravated at the class. Lots of homework... Not organized. Not available outside of class. Would cancel lots of assignments not caring if you had spent hours doing them. Not much in person teaching just gives videos and says "figure it out". Focus on what she's teaching in person, homework doesn't relate to tests. Tests are easy.
Andrea is very sweet and caring, you can tell she really wants you to understand the material. Helpful in answering questions. Sometimes she goes a bit quick in slides/writing the examples for your notes so be sure to keep up and pay attention! Test questions are a lot like the quizzes.
She is a great professor and teaches well. She offers great support to students. Genuinely loves her job, you can tell. Helpful, caring, clear instruction. 10/10
Took her online class and had a great experience. She was responsive to every question and encouraged communication.
She is good but uses WAY too many acronyms and abbreviations on notes and sometimes its hard to follow but other than that it was great,
Great professor take if avail She responds quickly to questions and grades assignments weekly. Course requires the purchase of Pearson. Homework consists of about 2 sections a week so around 20-30 questions. Don't fall behind, make be sure to keep up with the weekly assignments since each problem needs to be written by hand, There are 3 exams.
Andrea is a wonderful teacher and she makes it very easy to succeed in the course. She uses a My Mathlab online book, that walks you through how to do that course work. I am terrible at math and was able to get an A.
