Dr. Dini knows his stuff. But for an introductory Italian course he demands a lot. Can't speak in english on the first day of class? What kind of policy is that? Took Italian 101 hybrid in Fall 2007. The best course ever! We stressed Italian conversational skills. Ital 102 hybrid is the best class! We concentrate on speaking the language, and we do very little grammar drills. I had taken 101 hybrid before, so it helps. We do many Wimbas, and some QUIA (not as much as in 101). The best, is the conversation in Italian. And no written exams!!!!!!!!!! Almost all is oral (there are some compositions).

A lot of homework but it was worth it. I can have small conversations with my cousins and grandparents in Italy and I understand them better now! Studying the Italian gestures also helped! I never felt under pressure for the class, the open book assignments allowed me to relax. Less voice files would be appreciated though!

Dr. Dini is a phenomenal professor. There is a good amount of homework, but when it comes to learning a new language, it's necessary. He encourages students to participate, and has a very personable approach to teaching. If you genuinely try and stay on top of your work, this class is a great time & you will see a lot of growth in your italian!

Professor Dini is a very good professor. He is very passionate about the Italian language and it is evident in the way he instructs his class. He is very approachable and answers any questions you may have. This may seem like a hard class but if you read, do the homework and participate in class, you will do great. Good luck!

he is a decent guy but the amount of work that he gives is a lot. there is a lot of reading and he expects you to know and understand every single detail. he tends to call on students and put them on the spot during class discussions. one would need to spend a lot of time on his work in order to be prepared and not embarrassed during his next class

Professor Dini isn't really that bad. But if you don't participate in class, then he'll call you out in front of everybody. be ready for a lot of voice files and mindtap because thats basically your grade. He also gives pop quizzes out of nowhere and tells his students like a day before. The only good thing about him is that he doesn't give exams.

Professor Dini isn't a bad professor. The class is pretty straight forward. He is very organized. He doesn't give exams. My issue is, he gives way too many readings. I had to purchase 3 books and read all the articles he posted. If you are not a person who likes to read and write essay every week or every other week, I wouldn't suggest taking him.

Dr.Dini's course was a joy to take, I have learned a lot about this subject in unexpected ways. (The book A Queer History of the United States was a good choice.)
