Andrea is among the best instructors that I have had (14 years post Bach, with eternal continuing ed). She values teaching, student progress, and clarity in presentation. She makes mistakes, willingly admits them, corrects them, and moves on. I highly recommend Andrea if you like A/P.
Probably the best instructor I've ever had. I learned so much from her and have recommended her to many others. She really wants her students to succeed as long as they're willing to work hard for it.
One of the best professors at Sac City. Truly cares about her students. Lectures so that you understand what she is actually talking about. Highly recommend this professor.
Great teacher!!
Mrs Greenwell is awesome. I plan to take her for 430. She was easy to approach and gave a fair amount of work to her students. I did great in the class and it's only because of her because she wanted us to suceed. She is the best professor I have in college the last two years.I would defiently recommend her over Ava Waite. That teacher is horrible.
Andrea kicks butt. best instructor ever!
Because of Andrea, I love biology even more!!
She is the best of the best!!!!!!!!!!
More than 1/2 of the class fail the class or dropped out. She fail to help the ones who need help the most. Very wordy. Unfair grading. Not recommand to take Biology at SCC at all. Poor lecture skills. Make others failing asleep. If you want challenge is class is it, but you must score well all the way. She'll change her mind w/her grading.
She is very good teacher. Provides clear information. Gives homework to help out with grades. Very helpfull and nice. Probably one of the best teachers from all biology teachers.
This teacher is very nice, straight to the point, and professional. I would take her class again.
Andrea is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. She was so dedicated to our class that she missed a few lunch breaks to go over the information again. The class is extremely hard but for a good reason. I am now in the nursing program and I have a good solid understanding of all the body systems. I'd highly recommend her class.-super *
Good Professor. Teaching style is good!
I had Andrea at sierra. She is the reason Im a bio major now. She has forever changed my life, and I have much love for this woman! I also have her to thank for a wonderful cat that she rescued and allowed me to adopt. Thanks Andrea! <3 Go get that PHD!!! =)
new style: more critical thinking questions and less memorization in 431 than 430 = much harder.
One of the best biology teacher at SCC! Her lecture notes are clear and concise. Very enthusiastic in teaching. She is FULL of energy. The class is hard but she makes it as fun as possible. She knows her stuff so take her! Willing to help students anytime.
I had Andrea for lecture and I got A's on my lab test with another teacher and D's and F's for Andreas Lecture test! Her lecture test are very difficult and includes information that aren;t even in my notes! she is the reason I have a bad grade in my class
she does a great job in lecture and lab. she's also very helpful if there is a concept you don't understand.
This class is not easy, but Andrea was very entertaining and she really knows her stuff. Her tests are a little challenging, and going to lecture and taking notes is vital.
Her lecture exams are very hard and I mean VERY hard. She includes stuff for critical thinking in her exams that she has never explain I did great in lab but horrible in lecture because she is way too strict in her lab exams.
A nice teacher with alot of knowledge. She is a tuff lady when it comes to test and boy does she get you on spelling on diagrams and tuff with extra credit points. Homework is easy if you do the work but make sure you write everything because she checks.
I think if you don't read the book, then yes, her tests will be hard. I always got A's on her test, but that was b/c I studied her lecture AND textbook. Unless you only study her lecture, then of course you will say she is HARD! In actuallity, she is okay!
I TOOK ANDREA/TROY OVER THE SUMMER AND GOT A B. ANDREA IS GREAT AND HAS THE BIGGEST HEART. SHE TAKES TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND IF SHE SEE'S YOU TRYING SHE WILL TRY TO HELP. HER TEST AREN'T BAD AS LONG AS YOU STUDY AND READ THE BOOK. YOU CAN'T GO OFF THE NOTES ALONG. I WOULD RECOMMEND HER, SHE IS A SWEETY ; )
I also took troy/Greenwell in the summer, i also got a B. andrea is very nice and helpful. Her notes are not as detailed as troy's so you BETTER READ THE BOOK! Andrea reminds me of another bio teacher at CRC her name is Salmi, very sweet ladies, but in order to get a passing grade in their classes you have to REALLY study and READ THE BOOK!!!
She is such a nice human being! I just love her teaching style. She has a great personality. Very helpful and in tune with students' needs. She is so inspirational and has definitely inspired me. I think you can easily get a B just studying off of her notes. To get an A, you need to read the book.
she makes her lecture very clear and makes it so much more interesting.
I took her for both 430 and 431. She is a nice lady, but isn't as helpful as some other teachers in the department (like Carberry-Goh) but a good teacher. You must study, this class is hard, a lot of material to cover in a very short time!
I can't believe anyone would say Andrea wasnt as helpful as others! If u ask her a question or are confused no matter if during her lunch, in lec.,catch her on campus, etc she will cheerfully explain and make sure u get it. Just ask, I love this Prof., on top of everything she is a beautiful & caring person. She cares more than any prof. I've known
andrea is not easy so dont try taking her class if ur looking for a easy way out., you have to read and study hard and pay attention. ask questions if u dont understand and her attendance is not mandatory. your grades will reflect that. overall shes a good teacher and grades strictly. everyone will get wut they deserve if they work for it.shes funn
Excellent teacher very helpful and makes learning extremely fun
Honestly, I love this professor because she makes the class so interesting. I took a Micro class and I thought it was a lot harder . If you read the material and textbook then you will do good on her exams. She based majority of her exams on lecture notes and some on the textbook. She is very approachable and if you cant passed her class then you
I am not very impressed with Greenwell. I heard so many great things about her, and while I enjoy her as a person, she grades way to strictly. She is trying to prepare us for nursing school, but I do not think every test question should have D: A.B.C OR F: All of the above. As we know this class isnt' easy and it takes work, but it's frustrating wh
andrea is an excellent teacher. she is very easy to approach and has a great personality.she will take her time to explain the topic so you'll understand it.this class is hard and i have to study my butt off to pull an A. but will definately take her again.
overall she's an excellent professor, but if u want to pass her exams my advice is read, read, read the chapters 2-3 times. tests are not hard, but very tricky!!! exam questions comes from the book, not her notes...
Very, very challenging class. Lectures are recorded for you which is very helpful. No homework but there are several quizzes. Probably 80% lecture, 20% book based tests. The level of detail required to get an A is high so you must must be crazy detailed. She's likely not much easier than other bio teachers but she's very nice and funny -which helps
She is a good instructor, but extremely strict on grading. The verbage on her lecture and the test is different. Better off studying from book. Quiz weekly.
Great teacher. Without her help I'd have to wait an extra year to transfer. Lectures are crystal clear, and recorded in mp3 format! Good sense of humor and drops hints on test questions. Lectures are extremely efficient so pay attention. Grading isn't too easy but you should take her if you want a good foundation in microbio.
Very detailed teacher. She's what you need, specially for lab materials.Has 1 quiz before exam. She will curve jst a bit. Explained everything to where you understand, like to a child.Great for slow learners. Bio, is hard no matter who teaches it,but she is good. Takes dedication and being positive. This class is my first A in science.Im always a C.
EXCELLENT teacher!! if your a slow learner she is perfect for you. she makes the class fun to learn. very detailed. she want her students to succeed!!not out there to fail!i took bio w/ another inst. and she did not explain well dropped her class. bio is hard for me but takeing her made it each! you have to keep up w/lec and lab. TAKE HER!!!
She has a way of making reallly difficult material seem not-so-hard. Very enthusiastic, and great at helping to prepare for tests!
Andrea is a great teacher. The subject is hard but she made learning it fun. Takes exam questions from text bank so read the book along with her lectures. Lectures are recorded & posted in MP3 format which is really helpful. She grades on a slight curve. I highly recommend taking Andrea.
AMAZING!! She's fun, she makes the material easy to understand. Really cares that her students learn the material. LOVED HER CLASS!
Fantastic teacher! She is really enthusiastic about the subject and it comes through in her teaching. Her tests aren't easy, but if you put in the time studying you can do well.
The semester was fun and everyone in the class enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm she brought to biology. The only downfall I would say of the whole class is the fact that the tests require super detail. The test reviews will not help you at all. If you take this class stick to the book and notes. If you just memorize the notes your prone to fail.
Prof. Greenwell is very nice, friendly and helpful when you come to ask questions, especially with your lab reports and exam reviews.I don't want to make comparison, but she grades fairly easier(not so picky as other Bio professors),but you still have to study hard. I love her enthusiasm she brings to class everyday. Great teacher!!
She is the best bio teacher. Very clear in her subject. Explains it with humor. I would recommend her for everyone. To get A you need to study, but it is not hard if you into it. She gives some home asigments which easy points.
Professor is very friendly, and knowledgeable. Easy class if you come to class and study. She makes excellent notes for you to print up and fill in blanks during lecture. Would defiantly take her again and again!
Mrs. greenwell is a excellent bio teacher. she teaches at a level so that every body can learn because she loves what she is teaching and sh loves to help those who want to learn
Difficult course that taught me how to study for all BIO classes. GOOD: very positive, great lab sections, great @ office hours, audio recording of lec . BAD: very tough grader. If she asks for A, she wants EVERYTHING related to A, not only A, so you need to regurgitate lec notes, diagram for diagram, notes for notes. Often makes mistakes.
I took this class as an ITV and i thought it was a great option. shes a very good teacher. the course work is hard but with a tutor and good memory I pulled through with a B. this was my 1st semsester ever taking classes and I did fine. alot of work though, cant slack off.
Professor Greenwell is an extraordinary teacher. She goes above and beyond most professors for her students. If you take the necessary steps, she'll meet you half way. For a summer course in biology, she rocked it! Love her teaching style and I look forward to having her for Bio 430 next spring...and fellas, she is definitely "HOT"!
GREAT instructor. Takes time to explain thoroughly. A&P2 is not an easy class. Lec: clear and recording available. Great diagrams. Tendency to get behind. Lab: consistant and detailed in going through all material an. Great in histology also. Better in lab than lecture, IMHO.
TOOK THIS CLASS AND LOVED IT. I DONT REALLY LIKE SCIENCE CLASSES BUT I WAS ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE BECAUSE I WAS ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDING HER LECTURES CLEARLY. PRINT OUT THE LECTURE NOTES AND FOLLOW ALONG AND STUDY AND U WILL DO GOOD.
Andrea Greenwell is an excellent intro anatomy instructor. I'm not so great when it comes to science but I've managed to make it through the entire semester with an A and most likely end with an A. I personally feel that Nutrition 300 is tougher. Clear lectures, fair exams and plenty of points with quizzes & take home assignments.
Andrea is the best professor to take for any anatomy and physiology course. She goes by power point lectures that you can print out and follow along adding your own notes on the side. Exams and Quizzes are the core so know your material and study! She's just wonderful! Can't wait to take her for A&P 1/2
Awesome Teacher. As advice, rewrite her notes... If you miss a class, copy the notes from a classmate and rewite the notes! I wish I can take her for my other Biology classes because she gives perfect examples and helps you understand everything!
Doing well in Bio 100 will help with bio 430/431 & Andrea (she prefers this instead of Prof Greenwell) is a GREAT instructor! Take her courses if you can!!! She is very helpful & approachable. Power point lecture notes = easier to concentrate on the lecture material. I enjoyed this class & will try to take her Bio 430/431 courses!
Prof. Greenwell is an amazing instructor. She's very organized, which keeps things on track and brings cohesiveness to the massive amounts of info you have to remember to get through this class. She has good examples to make sense of it all, and she coaches the class on ways to remember everything so it sticks with you.
This class is REALLY hard and requires a lot of time and commitment. Prof. Greenwell is very professional and she will push you to be more than satisfactory. To earn an A, you MUST read the book, and study A LOT on your own. There is no way you can earn a good grade studying your lecture notes only. No extra credit, but she curves a bit.
The amount of material she covers the lecture b4 the exam that she will test u on is OVERWHElMING! Study guides are not helpful. If you are looking for an easy A, don’t take her. If you're a serious student who wants a VERY GOOD foundation in the subject and likes big challenges, take her. I am taking someone else for BIO431 and I did earn an A.
Omgg her exams are like so tricky. If I could do this all over ill pick a different instructor. Too much material.
SHE IS AMAZING! makes you feel important, wish i had came to class and actually tried but with 2 jobs it was insane! still got a B. she does great lectures and coves everything on the tests!
Hard critical thinking lecture exam. Must not read and memorize because its all about understanding the material. Pick a different professor!.
She made college life so much easier. She explains everything clearly to make sure you understand. Quizes are easy and test are easy to pass just make sure you study the diagrams because getting them right makes a BIG difference in your test score. Not a lot of homework but when we did have it, it was easy. i recommend this teacher to everyone.
Greenwell is nice, funny, and lively. She wants you to succeed. She records lectures and uploads them online, gives mini extra credit quizzes, and makes lab interesting. You don't get much homework in this class but you have to put in the work to get a good grade, obviously. I would definitely recommend taking her, I'm taking her again for Bio 431.
She is one of the best professors the department has! Shes not the easiest- tests are sometimes worded a bit tricky but she does this to make sure you really know your material! Not much hw is assigned but you should always study! she directly goes over what will be on the exam on review days and the final review she goes over every concept!
Andrea is AMAZING! Down to earth. I broke up with my 5yr girlfriend mid-semester, totally heart-broken, and she completely understood. She will understand you, and what life is putting you through. AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING!!! HARD class, but she teaches it better than ANYONE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. BEST SCC HAS TO OFFER!!! See for yourself.....
Lecture exams are critical thinking! Read and re-read! You can't get by on JUST lecture notes. Lab exams are pretty straight forward. She could go through lecture quickly on some days, just be sure to write questions and ask her during office hours. Few HW, 30 good behavior pts, records lectures. Extra credit quizzes, grades on a curve. LOVE HER!
Professor Greenwell is an amazing professor who explains the concept clearly during lecture and lab. Her lecture exams are tricky which is why reading the textbook is important. There are few assignments at the beginning of the semester and that's pretty much it. Her lab is simple and straight forward. Avoid taking too many classes or you will fail
Bio100... She gives you lecture notes on D2L study your Notes and you're guaranteed an A. She is very straight forward. I wish hat I could take bio430 with her.
Tough course in general. I'm taking 100 to get me ready for BIO430 this upcoming fall. Learned a lot. Summer can be very tough with this course, and she is very knowledgeable on A&P. Very thorough during lectures. Summer consisted of 7 exams, one each week, and about 6 HW assign. I highly recommend her. Too bad she doesn't teach 431 in spring.
Professor was very helpful in everything. Her grading was pretty straight forward, and she gave you full credit for any asignments done and turned in on time. Also she gave some opportunities for extra credit. I would re-take her if i could. Helps a lot with review before test. And as long as you study the study guide then you shoul pass the class.
Andrea is a very passionate teacher, and it shows. She's always willing to help you if you need it, and is a very kind individual. Not much HW, and the exams are fairly easy (multiple choice). Very interesting lectures, would love to take her again! It was always a class I looked forward to.
All of the students in my class loved Professor Greenwell. She's very kind, and tells lots of good stories that make it easy to remember lessons. Everything you need to study for her tests are in her review notes on D2L, you don't even need to read the book really (unless you're confused on something). But you do need to show up if you want to pass
She is very kind and understanding. She cares about student succeeding. If you read and show up to class, minimum B in class. She is very passionate about her class and I enjoyed attending everyday. (Perfect attendance) She is very simple and down to earth like her exams. She grades on a curve and gives extra credits. She is #1 in teaching Biology
She is an AMAZING professor. Would definitely recommend her and wish I could take her again. Greenwell is kind, funny, and there for you. She is good at helping you understand the material and really wants to help you pass. She gives mini extra credit quizzes and not much hw (do it). READ and you will pass her multiple choice tests. You'll love her
Best science teacher I've taken by far! Go to class and you'll be fine, because her lectures are all you need for her tests. Very thorough on lectures and wants to help students pass, even those who skip. Used book couple of times only. Need book for homework assignments. Gives extra credit. Will def take her again.
Wonderful class and great professor! She will help you through anything as long as you have common sense. Read the chapters and her lectures make it all click. Follow all of her advice! She is there for you to succeed! Easy A. She does not take attendance, but she really prepares you for her exams. You only study what she tells you to.
Best professor at scc! The class is not easy but she provides a lot of material that will help you study and succeed on her class. I love her! Took her for bio 430 and 431. Test and quizzes are a little challenging but pretty straight forward .
She does not provide study guides, does not allow you to take home old exams to review mistakes, she does not let students know what to expect on exams, instead she says to just read and this can be frustrating because the chapters contain a lot of information. Her exams are tricky; not straightforward. I don't recommend taking her. She's Nice tho!
Study guides are listed on D2L. Tough class, so READ & STUDY, A LOT! Tests come w/many trick questions but most are multiple choice A-E, & about 10 are fill in the blanks. Her WIX website, FB page, & open labs are helpful. To pass, reading is a must. She grades on a curve. The HW&ExCrd helps a lot. Awesome professor, taking her again for Bio431.
Andrea is a great choice for the A&P series. She is fair and treats her students with respect. Her expectations are clear and she will help you succeed. Such a lovely and genuine person to know. For the A: Read your textbook early and often and earn all extra credit offered, Open lab/detailed flash cards may help, depending on your study style.
She is a very kind professor who has great lectures and provides great tips for all the memorization. My only gripe is that she posts grades ridiculously slowly so you don't know where you stand. We have homework from 3 weeks prior that hasn't been posted an it's an 8 week summer class. But very approachable and smiles a lot. I'd still take her.
very thoughtful and her lecture is following through the notes . HOWEVER be prepare to sacrifice your weekends to studying and memorizing the names and the functions.
This is the second part of A&P, people. You know what's required to pass this class. Yes it is difficult and requires quite a bit of studying. Andrea makes everything easier, though. Her lectures are very thorough but READ THE BOOK. She genuinely cares about her students and has high expectations since most of us are going into the health field.
Professor Greenwell is honestly the best Professor I have ever had. She is intelligent, sweet, thoughtful and explains the material very well. You can definitely tell that she cares about her stidents, and she's super funny. It's heavy set on memorization, so you have to study a lot. But isn't that what you're supposed to do in college anyway?
The class is based on the lectures she gives you. At least 7 Exams and 8-9 quizzes. She will drop your two lowest grades on your quiz and drop one of your lowest exam. Make sure you STUDY! and work for the grade. She also gives figures of pictures on the exam which is an Easy A. She is fun and interesting to listen to. BE PREPARED and STUDY!!!
I loved this professor a lot. She helps us in many ways. She drops your 2 lowest quizzes and 1 of the exam. She gives extra credit only one time. She also tests us on pictures and she tells which ones are on the exam. You have to memorize and label it on the exam. Just study and attend class
She's a great teacher. Very clear with there grading. She is amazing with test prep and letting you know what areas to really study for the exams. if you do the reading, her study guides and put in the time, you'll get an A. She gives a lot great resources for studying. Available if you want to talk about you grade/ class material.
I got an A and all I can say is that she is not very helpful. Got mad a few times with the questions we needed feed back and sometimes she didn't even have an answer. READ YOUR BOOK. She will test you on things that she didn't even went over in class. The study guide doesn't always follows her lectures. She gives extra credits (spelling counts).
She should stick to teaching bio100(intro to biology). I got a good grade but it was because I love biology. She is moody, sometimes unprofessional. I never asked questions because she would literally make people feel stupid and put them on the spot for asking a simple question. I'm so happy I got in to Prof. Sartre for bio431 next semester.
Gives extra credit. 5 lecture exams all multiple choice with 10 fill in the blank questions. 5 lab practicals. 1 cumulative final (100 multiple choice questions). Read the book go to tutoring if you need help because she is not helpful. If you love biology and learn well on your own you will be fine otherwise take another professor.
I loved her for Bio 430 I wish I could take her for the second half. She is an amazing professor. She records her lectures which was very helpful. She tells you what will be on the exam with the exception of about two questions per exams that you would know if you read the book like she says. She repeats how to be successful in the class.
She doesn't respond to her students, so if you have a question good luck having that answered. Lectures are monotoned.
Online class. She never responds to emails or Q. discussion board for the professor. It's pretty frustrating since it's an online class and the only way to reach her. Lectures are recorded and pretty annoying b/c she keeps clearing her throat EVERY OTHER MINUTE. Tests and quizzes are monitored.
Be aware the online Bio 100 is proctored meaning it is recorded for quizzes and tests. She gives pop exams and expects it to be completed within a short time. I do not recommend her. Maybe on campus is a better environment for her teaching style. I felt violated with the online class being recorded and my anxiety was extremely high.
Prof. Greenwell is great & those saying she isn't; the problem is likely them. She's compassionate & dedicated to students. She does her part to help students but they don't appreciate her bc they are too concerned w/getting an easy A. The classes she teaches aren't easy A's. Put in the time & work; you will see that she was not the problem
Took her class this Spring 2018. 5 Lecture Exams, 5 Lab exams, 5 Lab Quizzes, 1 Final Cumulative Exam. She also gives extra credit points through reading quizzes that will help out a lot in the long run. Curves every exam in lecture, lab and the final. She's not just helping students, she's giving you odds to get an A; just put in time and work!
I REALLY had to work for my grade. It was extremely hard. There's barely any extra credit offered, so it's really hard to boost up your grade. Lectures are fun, but the lecture exams are not. There are questions that weren't covered in class, the multiple choice answers are A through E, and totally different answers than what we learned in class.
OKAY ITS BIO, its a tough class but Greenwell is so awesome. I was in a financial bind and she let me borrow her book until I got my own. She is there to help you. I've taken her for Bio 100 and 431 I LOVE HER! She's great both in class and online.
Unless you have no other classes or responsibilities this class is too demanding and the exams are difficult. Do not use her exam study guide unless you want to waste time. It's best to read the book and use the review/tests at the end of the chapters. Extra credit isn't an option for this class. Would have been nice to have.
Professor. Greenwell is very friendly and wants her students to pass, shes open to questions after class but attending her offices hours will surely help you pass. Exams are mainly based on the textbook so get ready to read until you full understand the material. She occasionally gives Extra credit lecture quizzes, final exam replaces lowest test.
Pro. Greenwell is cool & makes her class enjoyable although Bio is hard. She curves grades and offers many extra credit opportunities. Lab exams are straightforward that is what she covers in class. You have to read the TB a lot because she can't cover every detail in lecture class which is only 1 and a half hours. She tries everything to help.
Professor Greenwell is so amazing! She gives great lectures and feedbacks, very knowledgable and super organized. I respect her so much because she is a great person to learn from. Her profession, devotion and passion inspired me deeply. Feel so lucky to have her as my teacher.
Andrea is a very knowledgeable professor. She cares a lot about her students and their success. Her Bio 430 and 431 classes are the 2 toughest classes I have taken besides Chemistry. I am a Kinesiology major. If Chem was tough for you these classes will be tough too. I got a B in her classes but I spent A LOT of time devoted to studying. Good Luck
Andrea Greenwell is an amazing professor. I started off failing the 1st exam without putting much effort into studying. Going to her office hours really helped. I ended up getting an A in the class. Greenwell and I now have a great relation and would absolutely recommend her class.
This professor is really fast pace in all of her lectures even online, I took her for Bio430 spring 2020 and no she doesn't give extra credit. Lots of work and no matter how much I studied she made the tests harder. so no I won't take her again.
The subject itself is tough, not the professor. Expect to study 10-20 hours a week if you want a B or better. Lab exams are straightforward, but lecture exams may contain a few tricky questions. Study from the textbook and not only your notes. Few extra credit opportunities, up to 15 points only. Will be taking her for BIO 431 this upcoming fall!
knowledgeable & well organized, extra credit op in the form of a quiz x3, 5 points ea. Not very clear on what to study most of the time She wants you to learn every detail from all sources You will b tested on your homework so study it Must hv 15-20 study time/wk, study all pictures on lec notes, not always avail outside of class, curve is a joke
Would not recommend her. She isnt much help. Lectures and Labs are prerecorded videos that you will need to memorize. And make the best out of. The Textbook is difficult to understand and content is heavy besides being very expensive. No EC was given. Be prepared to teach yourself. Exams are long and hard. Not an easy class and she makes it hard.
She is horrible! If you're planning to take her class, be prepared to self-study because all the lectures and lab notes are pre-recorded and she doesn't teach you anything at all. You won't really know what will be on the exam and she doesn't really tell you what to focus on. Heed my warning, she's a very difficult teacher.
Get ready to read a ton of stuff in a VERY DIFFICULT textbook to understand. Along with keeping up with power point slides and listening to pre recorded lectures she created. She doesnt make her own exams she uses the authors. Bio is hard yet when taking w/ someone who doesnt teach you nor you have a sense of direction on what to do its harder
Took online . Sweet lady but makes you learn your own material and majority of points are all from exams 12 exams in total which are very hard doesn't go off study guide expects you to know all this oh and all exams are used with Proctor system wouldn't recommend unless you have time to teach yourself
No, i would not recommend professor Greenwell. I did not find her helpful nor resourceful. Biology is a very difficult class but having a professor who doesn't teach during Zoom, keeps you for 5-10 minutes in class to go over class schedule & sends you to watch prerecorded videos isn't teaching! Lab manual isn't needed. Her Exams are hard!
Get ready to read. She does not lecture and puts up lecture videos. Makes you attend zoom meetings to just go over the schedule. Avoid this teacher at all cost! Minimum HW. Grades heavy on lecture and lab exams. Exams are hard as well. Makes you memorize all lab material from the power point slides.
She doesn't have the time to lecture live zoom meetings. Everything is recorded and there's a lot of content to cover. No extra credit given, 1-2 H.W. assg. per chapter worth 5-10pts., Lab manual wasn't used, exam questions range from 60-75 questions for both lab ex and lec. ex., DO Not recommend. Very disappointed! :(
I had Greenwell for both my biology classes and it was nice! She does want you to pass and if most people take the test and don't do well she will curve or adjust grade points. I didn't really watch lectures but reading the lecture book was enough info for me to pass the lecture exams and studying the lab pages is enough to pass the lab tests. FXNS
I recommend taking it with really easy classes because this class will take up all of your time. It does feel like I'm already in a medical program based on how much you have to study. The best thing about her is that she does curve grades on exams, but the HW will not boost your grade at all. The only way to pass this class is to religiously read
She is a sweet lady, but I would not recommend her as a professor unless it is your only class. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself. Lab manual is not needed and the only way to pass her class is if you read every sentence in the textbook. All lecture exam questions involve critical thinking. Not an easy class nor an easy professor.
Greenwell has been really understanding about online learning and is doing everything she can to help you pass the course. She'll only test you on what is on the powerpoints. 5 lecture&lab exams, 1 lecture cumulative final exam, no lab final. Curves grades, unlimited attempts on assignments, no extra credit. Must read!
A&P is a difficult course. but Prof. Greenwell has your back, but don't expect her to hold your hand throughout the course. Read the textbook, actively watch the lectures, and do the adaptive practices - multiple times. Lots of memorization. Exams are curved, There's a mandatory-final exam, your grade on it replaces your lowest lecture exam grade.
Great professor for biology. Since classes were online, her lecture and lab videos are useful. Very clear on what she will test you on and she gives you so much time to study since there is no homework or extra credit. In short, this class is all about memorization and studying on your own. If you fail, it's because you didn't put in your effort.
Makes you memorize all lab material from the power point slides. Aweful. Didn't learn much. Take another professor.
Makes you memorize everything. You do not learn you memorize everything for the Quiz. All lab material from the power point slides. Aweful. Didn't learn much. Take another professor.
Sweet lady, but I would not recommend her as a professor unless it is your only class. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself. The only way to pass her class is if you read every sentence in the textbook. Memorize without understanding - bad experience.
You do not learn - only you memorize everything. If you ask her something not from the textbook she doesn't know the answer. Not a good instructor. Exams are strictly from classroom models. Completely waste of my time according to my nursing friends. Take someone else. Trust me. She will ruin your GPA.
this professor has lectures online and yes you can print them out or write them out, whichever floats your boat. and lab everything is in person, big hint what ever models she touches take pictures of them because she sometimes puts surprising ones out that she went over just once, so be careful. whatever she goes over in the lab about lec do it.
She is very knowledgeable and passionate, but makes things much harder than they need to be. I had several tutors throughout the course and they all told me that when they took BIO430/431 they did not have to know as much as I did, or in nearly as much detail. The avg grade for all of her lecture /lab exams are D/F. Extremely difficult exams.
The avg grade for all of her lecture /lab exams are D/F. She is not passionate about the subject or teaching, she only pretends she does. I regret taking her class because I didn't learn much. Semester with her was just waste of my time and energy. Well, that's an honest opinion.
No, i would not recommend Greenwell. I did not find her helpful nor resourceful. I am serious about doing well in the nursing program and I do not feel that this class is preparing me enough. If you take her class you will pay the price in the future. My friends took her class and now they regret.
If she's going fast make sure to ask her questions (ridiculous questions) to slow her down. she is available after class for clarification on lab or lec material and makes sure whatever model she touches takes pictures of it because it could pop up out of nowhere and give you bonus points. FYI don't take any other classes, this will be good enough.
Professor Greenwell makes the class as easy as possible but doesn't get me wrong, It is a hard class and hard work is required on your part if you want to do well. All you need to get an A and even more than 100% in her exams is in her notes and lectures. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she curves exams. She cares a lot so just talk to her.
I would not recommend her as a professor unless it is your only class. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself.
Quizzes and exams often, lots of reading, lectures are online, labs are in person. Seems like double the tests because we get separate lecture and lab exams.
She wasn't terrible, just watch all of the lecture/lab videos and memorize her lecture slides, the first lecture exam was the hardest, and after that, the next exams were mainly about hormones, so memorize what each of them do and you will do great! It could be an easy A if you put in some effort! She does offer some extra credit and curve exams.
Professor Greenwell is one of my favorite professors I've taken so far. A&P is a dense course, but she does her best to help you succeed. As long as you stay committed and put in the work, you can pass this class easily. She's also super funny and made me laugh a lot throughout my two semesters with her. Definitely will miss her!
I DON'T not recommend her as a professor unless it is your only class. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself. Total 10 exams, two given on the same day!
Professor Greenwell's class is challenging, but with dedication and tools like Unstuckstudy, you can succeed. The exams require deep understanding, so stay committed, use the textbook, and consider tutoring. Overall, a rewarding experience if you're up for the work.
I don't recommend her as a instructor....horrible person. You have to memorize everything she says. Currently, I am in health care and I can honestly say this class is waste of your time.
Bad reviews are coming from people who never learned how to study. Obviously it's a lot of memorization, it's a bio class. Go to open lab for extra practice. Actually STUDY your lecture notes. Spelling counts. She gives plenty of extra credit and curves the exams. She gives you everything you need to be successful, use it. She is very nice too
Good reviews are coming from her favorites. Don't trust good reviews.
If you think about nursing program, don't take her. No innovation, only memorization. I regret taking her class.
Professor Greenwell has certain expectations for her courses, however, I was able to pass her class with an A- by asking questions about her grading style, what to expect on the exams, etc. She teaches pretty fast but you kind of get the gist once you figure out her teaching style. She's super lenient on grading and she gives extra credit!
One of the few classes I enjoyed. Yes, the class is information-heavy, but she gives you all the material you need to succeed; you just have to put in the work. Prof Greenwell understands that life gets in the way and will do her best to accommodate you. Truly one of the best professors I've learned from. Exams are curved to!
This is a difficult class no matter who you take it with but Prof Greenwell made this class fun and enjoyable. She is a VERY fair grader and cares about her students a lot. She wants all of us to succeed. Also offers lots of extra credit and grades her tests on a curve. DO NOT MISS CLASS AND STUDY and you'll do well. Wish I could take her for 431!
She's a great professor, very understanding and a great person. Class is hard regardless of the teacher but she tries her best to make it easier, lots of memorization and time needed outside of class. Lecture & Lab have their own exams & also lab quizzes. Not much homework but most of your time will be used studying and doing online lectures.
Prof GreeInwell is a great prof who actually cares about her students. Separate exams for LEC & LAB but grades are curved. plenty of extra credit to land an A. Pay attention to her teaching style and find your studying technique for this class early on and you will do well. I'm excited to have her again for 431!
This class was a hard one but she made it relatively easy for us. Exams are lecture based which are online. She is such a caring professor I would recommend her for A&P. She will curve exams so try your best. Final was cumulative and generally easy if you did good on the lecture exams.
Sweet lady, but I would not recommend her as a professor unless it is your only class. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself. The only way to pass her class is if you read every sentence in the textbook. Memorize without understanding, overall bad experience.
