Andrea is very knowledgeable. She works in the field and knows her stuff. She seems to enjoy teaching and is genuine. The class was fairly easy and she is not a hard marker.
I dropped my class because she is such a hard marker. Her ppt is the worst ppt I have seen.
She's a nice prof, but her teaching skill just doesnt work in the class. She passed me but I still dont recommend her.
andrea is really knows what she is talking about and when she teaches she is trying to prepare you for the real world. she doesnt make u do useless assignments, she does stuff that u do in a real proffession. she keeps the class engaged with good disccusions, good teacher, would recommend but u have to work for it.
go to class, do the case studies, work on the final project and you will come out with at least a B... her midterm exam was everything she points out in class, nothing not expected. i read over my notes for an hour, got an A+ on exam...she doesnt rely on ppt, she likes class involved. awesome prof, very helpful.. real life examples that make sence!
Andrea knows her stuff, but didn't really treat her students well. Sometimes seemed abrasive when asked questions. She has high expectations and isn't very accomadating
Hard marker whos unclear of what she wants and when you do what she says she's still unsatisfied therefore deducts marks. Spent too much time on this elective class and still getting a low grade. And I'm an A/B student. she's a good lecturer don't get me wrong, but Don't take her for 2nd yr classes too much for a 2nd yr, not worth it.
Does not care about the students, at times could be very rude. Also she makes mistakes often in marking tests. I suggest do NOT take her class, if you do make sure you check your exams see if marks adds up.
Andrea is a smart professor, the only issue is that her masters is in Business, not communications. Took a course with her and she does not know what the concept of being accommodating means. One step further, she does not have a strong enough grasp on actual communications theory. Never once heard her talk about Grunigs theory of Comm's

She doesn't know how to teach. Doesn't teach any thing from the textbook. Its all case studies, but doesn't give you the answer key afterwards. Unclear for the exams, so it's hard to study for. Definitely would not recommend her.

I like the case studies we did in class and they were useful for the exams but not for the quizzes. On papers and projects she critiques grammar more than anything and has high expectations for such an unclear assignment. Which is ironic since half of the handouts had typos.
Hard Marker, says the case studies are not for marks but that's what she uses to judge your participation mark. Assignments are unclear. Multiple choice quizzes are brutal. She teaches this course as if it's the only one you are taking. Rarely uses the textbook in class but uses all the little concepts instead of the big ones.

Poorly planned lessons, not helpful.
her lessons are sometimes jumping around but she is one of my favourite profs at Kwantlen and her 1299 class is a lot of fun especially the group project presentations
She's really excited and into the material. During class time she puts us in groups and we play games to do with the material. Her quizzes are MC and they are EXTREMELY hard. She even admits it. I'm not sure why she is okay with giving a quiz so hard that people don't do well. Her exams are fine enough if you take notes in class and study.

avoid her class! she is not helpful and likes to insult her students. she definitely plays the favorite student game. does not evaluate her students on students effort but her own favor. she wont answer the questions and would tell you look for the answer yourself. the most disobliging instructor ever!!!! run!!!
she judge you by her preference, even you hand in all of the weekly assignments, if she doesnt like you then too bad! if you let her keeps her eye on you, you are not likely to survive through this course
Honestly shes a nice prof. She does set her expectations so make sure to follow those and shes strict on rules but they're pretty common sense -- don't cheat or text in class. She makes class interesting, group project is a bit of work but overall I would take her again.

she has been my WORST professor,doesnt know how to teach.when you're confused and email her, you get:"sorry, i don't teach over email". She doesnt answer questions outside of class or office hours.her notes are messy and disorganized,like she is. She gives you multiple case studies and barely tells you what she wants you to do. Any time when u c a class that gives out participation, attendance, and arbitrary marks , stay away! The quiz is hard, and the MT and final r very hard because they r all written concepts seemed to be designed for a MBA class! She's so mean, and she only give out good grades to people she likes. She's the reason y I switched to ACCT.
I would say Andrea is fairly a good professor. Her notes and handouts are a bit confusing sometimes, but she makes her point across the whole class. Yes, you do not have a mid term, but her exams are all about the case studies. If you do them well and understand every concept from them, you shall be fine. I bombed my first case study and still ok.
This is terrible prof. She's not mean or a bad person, but she simply cannot teach. Nobody learnt a thing the entire semester and basically had students "teach" class for her. I'd avoid this one.

Andrea is an awesome teacher. No, she isn't an easy teacher because she actually makes you work for your grade. She expects you to know your stuff and be able to apply it properly. If you need help she is always available. She's funny and keeps things interesting while applying it to real life. I can't wait to take her again for my next course!
Unbelievably hard marker!!! it's not even funny how hard she is, it's almost impossible to get an A. The highest grade given in the class was a B-. Not only she a hard marker but she does not teach any material so students are basically teaching themselves and she is not helpful what so ever!
Andrea is a great teacher and is enthusiastic about marketing. YES, she is a VERY hard marker but i wouldn't go so far as to say unfair, she just expects you to know the material that she taught you. Andrea does a fairly good job of teaching the material and is happy to help you understand. Would take again despite knowing i won't get an A.
Andrea is the worst prof Ive had in my 4 years at Kwantlen. She marks horribly and will not meet outside of office hours. Unless youre a mind reader, you wont do well in her class. She cannot communicate what she wantsexpects so it's impossible to do well on assignments. Ill never take her class again and do not recommend her to anyone.
Andrea is unorganized when she presents and inconsistent in her marking. The class did not know final exam content until 6 days prior and the test itself did not cover IMC marketing concepts from the textbook ($140 waste). My worst mark in 4 years with KPU. Be careful with this prof as you have to follow her creative direction just to pass.
She was not actually teaching. In her class, we just watched so video and write a paragraph common, which she didn't put any feedback. No one get a good mark from her for our midterm. I've learned nothing from her class. And when you say something she doesn't want to hear, she will yell at you in front of your classmates.
Andrea has funny and relatable stories towards the subject, but when it comes to teaching.. she kind of throws you under the bus and stabs you with a poor mark. Her class was really hard especially since we had to have the online textbook and there were know hard copies available at the bookstore. Work really hard and good luck.
Unless you absolutely have to, do not take courses with her. Her teaching style mainly consists of showing videos in class. She does not know how to teach, yet she is such a tough marker. Lacks empathy and enthusiasm. My best advice, just avoid taking classes with her.

Although some of her lectures were fun and interesting, she lacks sympathy and does not have the students best interest at heart.
I will be straight up honest .. Please avoid Andrea if you want a good mark! I am a 3rd year marketing student and she is one of the worst prof's I have come across so far. She teaches NOTHING at all in class. Make the textbook your best friend for a semester and have fun watching pointless videos in class. AVOID!

Im just finishing 2 classes with Andrea, the 2 classes are very biordinal. Her consumer behaviour class is extremely hard, very difficult to achieve a good mark in that class. But on the other hand her intro to emarketing class is extremely easy with no mid term. highly recommend her emarketing class, do not recommend her consumer behaviour.

Andrea is really passionate about marketing, and she loves students who are as well. Make notes and each textbook chapter throughout the course, as she barely lectures and you will be fine on the final. Read and stick to her rubric for the essays and you will be fine. She is very knowledgable about marketing.
I was force to take her class cause she is the only professor who teach this course in this semester. I was afraid to take her class because of all the negative comments in here. It turns out she is really nice and encouraging students. The only problem is she did not teach anything. You have the listen carefully for what she want in the easay.
Never take her courses, totally nonsense, only watching the movie in class and then let you write your paper, many students dropped after the first assignment.
I can't say enough good things about Andrea, super caring, funny, tells you what she's looking for and on top of it all is real good looking. Class isn't too hard, online quiz every week which isn't too tough and in class assignments. Assignments are done in groups and the big project is solo.
I initially didnt like how she was in class since she didnt really teach much. A lot of it is heavy on group in-class assignments. I find you have to take a little more responsibility and initiative in class. However, shes quite helpful and encouraging when you feel like you need to keep up.
Andrea is a great prof in how she teaches and connects with us but she will not prepare you for the final exam. The $100 USD online text is a waste, it is 50 pages at most, but required as part of a simulation that you graded on by how well you do online, not the experience, which I don't agree with. She is great but her course needs work.

Can't say enough good things about Andrea. She truly cares about her students and is super passionate about the marketing program. She expects you to come to class already having read the chapter and finished the online quiz, and then she'll quickly go over some of the important concepts you should know. Easy class as long as you follow the text!
Andrea is the type of teacher that you can tell is just so full of knowledge. Some may say she's difficult but thats just because she knows so much about what she's teaching that it needs to be correct to get full marks. So inspiring, definitely would take her again if given the opportunity.

Amazing prof! Andrea truly cares for her students and it really shows that she loves what she is teaching. The course consists of two individual assignments (based on films), one group or individual presentation, and a final. No midterm. Definitely, hope to take her again in the future.
Andrea's class did not make a whole lot of sense. She did not teach us and did not have lectures, just random partner assignments (majority however were easy). A big part of the grade is base on how you do on an online simulation which is confusing and unfair. There is math involved which she also does not teach.
Andrea is the most caring and inspiring teacher I ever met! this class has no homework, textbook, or midterm. if you just show up you're guaranteed to pass. theres a simulation which is hard but your mark is based solely on what you learned from it, not how you did. Its a great class and even though its lecture heavy, its still interesting. 10/10
Andrea is a very nice instructor, however, I found it really difficult to follow this course. There isn't much structure, she does not give homework, and the notes are not very detailed. If you can teach yourself and have a lot of time to spend on the class, it would be an easy pass, if not, I'd suggest another instructor.
I took MRKT 2111 w/ Andrea this summer online. I was blown away by her sincerity and kindness shown towards students. Her grading criteria was fluent, and allowed the students to work towards their desired goals. She was not reliant on textbooks, as she used useful information she has acquired over her years of teaching marketing. Thank you Andrea.
Andrea was one of the best profs Ive had! Especially with school being online, she was so caring towards her students and gave incredible feedback! Shes an easy grader as long as you do the work, most of your grade comes from participation and the assignments are an easy A if youre super creative. I definitely would take her again!!
I told her that I was late because I had to see my dad off at the airport, he was gonna be gone for a while. She looked at me as if it was a stupid and insane reason to be late. Completely no compassion or empathy whatsoever. Then she rudely announced that she would deduct marks from my attendance.

Took PRLN A10 summer condensed (May-June, 2023) 6 core assignments, you can get a B+ or A- just by completing core assignments There are 5 bonus assignments, you can choose which ones you want to do to achieve an A or A+ Lectures are usually 2.5h long, sometimes takes the whole 3h, no breaks Class attendance is not mandatory, but encouraged.
She is well worth the score. She should be expelled, she doesn't respect the fruits of her students' labor. I haven't gotten a response to my emails to her. Also she is just grading students as she sees fit, with no real basis for her nonsense. Yet she is still the only professor in this class, which is really desperate.

Would recommended steering as FAR away as possible from this teacher, assignment outlines are extremely vague, consistently asks for revisions, doesn't teach/explain anything within the course.
As long as you come to class and understand her expectations, it will be very smooth sailing. She has an unconventional grading method where she offers the chance to revise your work before getting your final grade. So, if you're willing to do revisions then it's quite easy to get a good grade. Overall, I thought her class was very straightforward.

Andrea has an unconventional grading system where it essentially revolves around you getting an opportunity to revise your work, but she explains it the very first class. She is particular about what she wants, so as long as you attend class and read the briefs then you'll do good. Otherwise, just take some time for some revisions.
Don't listen to the bad ratings, she is a great professor. I personally really like her unconventional grading method. I see a lot of people saying she doesn't answer emails and giving her a 1 for it, but she literally mentioned in the first class that her emails are flooded and she recommends attending office hours instead.
The outline is unclear and did not help ask questions outside the classes. If you want to pass you better choose another prof.

She has a bad attitude toward students and often dismisses our work as AI without reason. It feels unfair and even biased at times. Her presentations lack depth like a nursery kid, and the research she assigns seems pointless. She acts like she knows everything but doesn't. Smart work isn't always AI—some students just try hard.
Even though I got good grades last semester, this professor made me feel bad for asking questions and now she's doing the same to my friend—taking belittling to the next level. She discourages even good students. We're here to learn, no question is stupid. Avoid her if you can.
