Great teacher...will definitely miss her. She made the class so much fun! Hope she's having fun at her new position in Cali!
Great teacher, outlines all chpts for notes, curves all tests, even mid-term & final. Sooory to see her go..:-(

Great professor! The class is challenging, but if you study, you'll have no problem getting an A. I would definately take her again!
Her class is well organized. She knows her stuff. The class is easy AND you learn. She also goes over what is on the test so you know what to study. Take her she is worth it. I wish she taught A&P!!!
very interesting class, but she can be very hard. to pass dont miss and you need to study very hard. But if your up to a challenge she will give you one. She does keep you awake during the class. she is very energetic. she does not give extra credit so dont ask. giving a 10 min presentation is req
I WAS SCARED ABOUT TAKING THIS CLASS SHE MADE ME LIKE MICROBIOLOGY STUDY,DON'T MISS CLASS OR LECTURE,AND BE APART OF THE CLASS AND YOURE SURE TO GET A PASSING GRADE:) WILL TAKE HER AGAIN IF SHE TAUGHT A&P I
Enthusiastic, Fun, Organized. Take this professor. You can't beat a teacher who gives you all the lecture and homework outlines for every section. LOTS OF TESTS means you really have to screw up to fail this class! The only way you will be surprised by anything on the tests is by not showing up to class.
She is a great teacher! She has so much energy and enthusiasm about microbiology, she made it fun! It is not an easy class, you have to study. Pay attention to her reviews for the test and you'll be fine. Loved her class!
Very Nice strict about grading, very few if any curves.. Really wants students to succeed in class and in life. Take notes and DO THE HOMEWORK it really helps and its a BIG part of the Grade.. I like the grading scale. I didnt do to good on the tests and still pasted the class with a decent grade. Will be taking her A&P class next semester. STUDY F
Hard class but she gives you all you need for tests and lecture. Do homework and bonus points. I failed 4 of 6 exams and ended up with a "B". She loves the subject and is very entertaining.
Great teacher she is hard but she is willing to help you if you ask. Grading scale is great you can fail 1 or 2 things and still get a decent grade I took this class over the summer and got a B I failed 1 test and didn't do so well on a few lab quizzes. She is a great teacher she is hard because she want the information to stay with you.
She is tough but extremely helpful and makes the class really interesting. Tests are all short answer style, no multiple choice or T/F, but she prepares you very well. I was able to get an A in her class because she makes it enjoyable to learn the information. I would highly suggest her!!!
She is a great teacher. Very entertaining & enjoys what she is talking about. I hate the subject but I enjoy her class. The tests are pretty easy if you study. i dont so I barely get by.. HW papers are due every 2 wks and are one page and very simple. you have to try to get a bad grade.. SHOW UP FOR CLASS, she gives extra credit sometimes for it
was dreading taking this class for the 2nd time but she made it so easy. explains in a way you can remember and understand. the homework/ fill in notes help you for her exams which can be tough.
PRE-NURSING STUDENTS: SHE'S A MUST! Teaches from a health care point of view. Interesting professor. Takes what could be a dry subject and puts life into it. Labs were relevant to healthcare. Uses hmwk/study guides (required) makes studying a breeze. Engaging, lectures well. Pre/Post lab write ups. Essay exams. Short answer quizzes.
She has a GREAT personality, and very knowledgeable about what she teaches. She moves quickly, but provides impressive lecture notes for you to look back and study from. Tests are very detailed and difficult that consist of atleast 6 ch each. Lots of h.w., and the mini quizzes are derived from the end of ch review in the book. Fun teacher though!
I loved Andrea. She is probably the hardest teacher I have had, but worth it! If you want to become a good healthcare professional, I strongly recommend her. If you're lazy...Take someone else. She is wonderful at what she does. Easy on the eyes to.
Great Teacher, great person. If you get a chance to take her don't pass it up! She'll acctually TEACH you something. :)
Really cool professor. I learned so much in her class. just do all homeworks, and study of of the hw.
Professor Rediske is awesome! She makes biology fun, and I actually enjoyed going to class. Tests are a little tough, just make sure to do the homework and study. Definitely take her if you get the chance!
Don't take, did not learn s thing hardly, very very hard, harder then it should be.
Some of the class is online and it is not good at all.
I took this teacher after reviewing, her comments on here. So far it has been a complete nightmare, I see that there have been some recent comments and I would have to agree to all of the recent ones. Harder then it should be. I don't know what has changed about this teacher, but something is not right. I would not recommend her at all.
This class is hard no matter what! It?s even harder online. If you have all the time in the world, then this class is for you! The homework she had us do is useless & it really takes a lot of time. You really have to study & READ the chapters. The test & quizzes are difficult. Overall this class is a disaster & taking her makes it worst:(
Well I would have to say that, I would like to give her some positive feedback here but I just can't. I really hope she makes a lot of changes next semester. I will let you know more after my grade. Because everything that was online for the lecture part, was totally scrwed up from the 2 hour exams with a hundred questions to the homework. DONTTAKE
this class is already really hard, but the teacher makes it ten times harder.
This teacher does not believe in any extra credit, even though more than have the class is failing the online portion of the class. The online exams or very worthless. If you want a passing grade don't take her.
My suggesting to anyone who is reading this, and is thinking about taking this class with this professor. THINK long and about taking this professor for this class. It has been absolutely the most ridiculous class ever, and not just because the class is hard but because how Ms. Rediske had it set up. Part of the class was online and I can?t even ex
even express the words for how bad it was. I consider myself a very smart and intelligent person, and yet I have learned
This professor it nice for the most part and the lab was not o bad, but the online portion was the worse part. I would not recommend this teacher to anyone~
HORRIBLE!
Fun lab...... but the online part was BAD
Worse class/teacher ever......
The lecture part is online & pretty tough. The lab part is great & Andrea is a really good teacher. You have to work hard and study alot but the lab practicals & quizzes are fair. You can tell she loves micro & relates it to your field of study. I got a B+ so its def. not as bad as people say. I would recommend her..shes a great professor!!!
Stay away at all cost!!!!! I have never worked so hard in any class in my life! She plays fav. big time and if she does not like you watch out! I would never ever take her again and I usually never complain. STAY AWAY!!! Any one would be easier and better I DIDNT LEARN A SINGLE THING!
Like the person said below me, she plays FAVORITES BIG TIME, so be aware, I am sure the person before the one below was one of her few favorites. The online exams were all bouched and because of that we got screwed. Do not recommend this teacher for this class at all. STAY AWAY!
Oh my God, what a complete nightmare taking this professor, she made this class that is already hard 50 x's more harder. You will study your butt off and be lucky to get a passing grade in her class. Walk away while you still can, take any professor but this one. Trust me you won't regret it.
Mrs. Rediske is cool however I felt she could have handle this online course a lot better than she did. The HW really has nothing to do with the lecture exams and they are to damn long! The one thing she did do good for us was curve our exams.Overall this class is difficult no matter what you have to study!
From start to finish it was bad! The lab was okay, but she talked really fast and gave us no breaks. For the online protion she did curve but the curves were not that great, it did not help in the least. The online lecture portion, was a complete mess. There were 6 exams with 100 tions on three chapters and you only had hours to finish. VERY BAD
Does not believe in making any mistake human or not. Her life is obviously hard, so she has to make everyone?s life hard with hers. Horrible teacher!
Ms. Rediske, has some major issues, and take them out on her students. I was reading some of the other recent comments and they are all pretty much true. Very sad to say, but she really needs some help.
Well, I personally do not recommend the professor to anyone! She truly goes out of her way to make your life HELL!
ALL THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE PROF ARE TRUE. SHE DEF TAKES HER PROBLEMS AT HOME OUT ON HER STUDENTS.I TOOK HER IN SPRING 08. ONLINE PORTION IS TERRIBLE. TESTS TOO HARD AND THERE IS NOTHING TO PREPARE YOU FOR THEM. HOMEWORK IS RIDICULOUS AND DOESNT HELP.
She was a good teacher in my opinion, yes it is not easy, but its microbiology, how easy can it be??? My only complaint was the online exams which were made for microbiologists, that was something I dreaded doing. You just need to make sure you set aside time to study and read....The lab was not bad at all, she lets you know exactly what to study
Not a very profesional teacher at all....has no respect for her students and made a already hard class 100 times more dificult then what it all ready was.
I have to agree with all the comments. Professor Rediske is very helpful and good at explaining the lab. However, do not get on her bad side, she will not be so helpful. Homework and exams are extremely long, you have to read the text to pass. I made a good grade but I probably couldnt have done as well if I was taking other courses
She was by far the worse teacher I have ever taken. I guess I was one of the many students that got on her bad side. The test were 2 hours long and out of this world hard. She was not very nice and took her problems and family issues out on some or most of her students I do not recommend to her to anyone, unless you like me misery.
Don't not waste your time or money, on this prof...... She is not very understanding, and she make your life a living nightmare~
Ms. Rediske really was a unprofessional teacher. She loves to put her students out there and not in a good way. SHe like to embarrass you to the point of disbelief. I regrets taking her. And her exam are set up to make you fail, they are ridiculous. And I learned absolutely nothing. SHe deserves the WORSE teacher of the Year AWARD.
I personally do not recommend her, and would agree with 85% of these comments.
OMG the worse teacher there ever was! RUN WITH YOUR LIFE
Hard. She is knowledgeable on the subject. Test are long and hard. LOTS of assignments to complete. Wants you to be an expert and know EVERYTHING. No extra credits. Willing to work with you sometimes. Overall, pretty nice and good personality. Funny as well. I thought she was good, but a bit hard.
No e-xtra credit at all, test are awful and does not care if u fail.
A+ Prof! Microbio is hard no matter where or w/ who. Rediske loves subjet & it shows. This is a real college course. B prepared to study! All neg R peeps who didn't study. Took hybrid. Convenient 1 night class ea week. Quiz ea class on prior lab's content. HW or Exam due each Sat (2nd chance to resubmit after she grades). 2 lab practicals.
That was Mrs. Rediske that wrote that below here, it sounds just like her. But the truth is that she is trurly a hard Prof to work with and 90% of her class fails unless you are one of the 10% that is willing to kiss you A**
Hybrid class. Lots of work with this class since it's online but it helps to boost your grade if you're not good at exams. Mid-term and final are tough but manageable. Online exams are killer but you get 2 tries at each. Labs are fun and easy. Overall easy class if you have a good science background. If not, take the traditional one.
Great teacher. The labs were fun. There is a lot of work but it can be done. I took the hybrid course. The tests online were REALLY hard, but you do get 2 tries for each. She's very helpful and always available. I would take her again :)
There is no way you could work, take other courses and pass her class. Shes a over obsessed freak that gets off on over assigning homework with things that isn't even in the text. You get tested on 6 chapters at a time. No matter how hard you work it ain't good enough. She don't care if you fail. if u want 2 pass micro go 2 a real professor not her
The whining of these "children" makes me ill. I took her for my nursing pre-reqs, got an A, almost 2 yrs ago. Learned a lot. I still hear today as I finish nursing. She prepares future nurses well. If you want to be spoon fed don't go into nursing. If you cannot get it from Rediske...don't bother with nursing, you will fail.
If you want an easy class, this isn't it. It's tough and time consuming. But the material is interesting and you learn a lot. I took the summer hybrid class. She tells you what's on the lab quizzes. The online exams were hard. If I had the choice of taking an easier professor, I would have but I did learn a lot and she?s not bad looking either.
This is a difficult class, lots of work and she is very strict. However, she is very accessible, it is a hybrid class, so you'll only see her in lab, so you have to learn the material by yourself, but if you have questions, she'll definitely answer your emails and try to help u as much as possible. Great professor! Be prepared to study, though.
Worse prof ever!
Not a very professional, her test are ridiculous, and she gives NO EXTRA CREDIT at all?
dont take her class at all she is crazy her tests are ridiculous and very hard she'll make u study 24/7
Where to start! Don't waste your time or money. She is completly unreasonable prof.
I don't understand why people are saying the professor is "hard". Its not the professor, its the subject, if you don't study, you won't pass! I pulled an A, BUT she tells you from the beginning that her class is hard and she has serious requirements. Micro isn't the easiest class, but she def. knows he stuff!
Insane, if you exist outside of the classroom, than you will fail. Don't have a job or any other classes, you won't be able to pass. She think everyone in her class is seeking a doctorates in microbiology. She is proud of the hell she puts students through.
Wow! Taking her Summer Hybrid course now... This insructors has structure yet, a bad way of teaching. For the students? NEVER! She will not work with you even if you accidently submit the wrong homewor after working on it for weeks... Exams are 100 question in 2hrs... How insane is that? Exam are based on 4 Microbiology Chapters. I dislike her!
Do not take this prof This woman needs proffesional help. She wants you to be an adult and handle her very challenging course load but then treats you like a child. (disrespectful) and def gets off on it. she also screams narcissist Makes class harder than normally is. SHE IS very knldgble on subject matter but try 2 avoid this crazie peep.
This professor is extremely difficult and treats students like 3rd graders. This course is hard enough without having the challenge of her belittling students for ever little mistake. Test are beyond hard and not enough time allowed to complete them and still have time to go back and double check your answers. Find another professor or wait until t
OMG!!!!! She need to get the WORSE teacher of the century award. She lives, eats and breaths micro and expects her student to do so as well. Granted this is a HARD class, but she makes 100 X's harder. PASS this Prof up, you won't regret it.
By far the BEST professor I have ever had! Took Micro my first class back after 5 years away from college & aced the class! The hybrid Micro class is the hardest class Valencia offers! Be prepared to work and learn! She is tough as nails but very fair in grading ad expectations. We are adults people, not babies, she expects that from us. <3'd her!
Very disrespectful to students! She admits that Micro is her passion and expects students to feel the same way. Makes several snide comments throughout her Lab classes and thinks she's being funny. NOT!!! Material is taught well, but her overall attitude makes this class just plain unbearable. Find another professor! She' awful!
Hard-The class itself is hard, not the teacher. The teacher is helpful if you turn your assignments in on time (preferrably early). Great teacher! Not an easy A but if you are looking for something to challenge your mind take her class. Whatever you do though do not take the class with A & P, try to take it with Medical Terminology, it will help.
She is great! I enjoyed this class tremendously. She is fair and gives you plenty of chances to get a good grade. If you do the work, which is a lot but manageable, you will do fine. She makes a somewhat tedious subject very interesting and actually fun. Make sure to partner up with the right lab partners that are willing to work hard.
Great Professor!! More than willing to help, and knows her stuff. She is EXTREMELY organized which I absolutely love about her. If u r taking this course as a prereq for nursing and fail it (or even get a C), don't bother applying for the nursing program. This class is a wonderful prep for the program. People who r complaining didn't put any effort
This professor is by far one of the best professors I have had at Valencia! She is extremely helpful and gives everyone plenty of chances to passing this class with a B or better. If you do not pass this class then you are just not putting the time and effort into it. This is a hard class in general, don't think you and just wing it and pass.
The Hybrid class is hard & requires you to study, but this professor is excellent in that she tells you exactly what you need to study for. If she didn't, no one would pass it because there is simply too much detail in a short period of time. This method works as it ensures you WILL learn what she tells you to study. Great Job!
To the person who rated on 10/30/10: Are you in medical school to be an "MD". Look at yourself first. A person who get an A or B that doesn't mean he or she will be a good nurse. A person who get an C grade not always stupid, understand???
I find her to be very rude. she knows her stuff but she has a way about her to make snide comments and tend to ignore you or embarrassed you in class. I would not recommend her plus her test are unbelievable and everything is a big deal with her.
Very tough professor. She thinks that her class is the only class students are taking. She makes you do so much homework weekly, that is almost impossible pay attention to other classes. I took her Hybrid class and she even made us write a paper at the end of the semester. The quizzes are online, 100 questions in 2 hours. Don't take her
I'm A & B student through my whole time in College. I dropped her class the first week because she is so demanding and kind of rude. Valencia has much better professor than this lady. I would not take her unless you don't care about your GPA.
I actually love this class. You HAVE to study about 20+ hrs/wk. I took it as a hybrid, there were 6 exams with 3 chap. in each. She lets you take the exam twice and gives you the higher grade. She gives you points for completeing the post and pre labs. which r due every wk w/ a lab quiz. I recommand her if you have taken bioloy before.
This professor is completely and utterly ridiculous . I can tell you with out a doubt that she is the one writing all the detailed wonderful things about her self. She is one of the ruddiest and un professional professor out there. BE-AWARE.
AWESOME TEACHER! Hoestly, I've never gotten an A in ANY science class since middle school and I'm one of those overacheving students (took AP bio and AP chem). You MUST study! You pretty much get points for anything as long as u complete it (pre/post labs). 2 attempts for test (online if its a hybrid class). 2 hr time limit with 100 questions.
I LOVED this class! Yea, it's a hard class, but she makes it so much fun and interesting. I took it as a hybrid class & I have suggested it to a lot of people. I love it, had a pretty steady B throughout without really much studying or effort. Some people may need more studying than I did though. I'd take it again if I had to
Learned a lot in the hybrid class, but a lot of work. The learnsmart hw takes 6 or more hours a week. Many other assignments: prelabs, postlabs, exams, lab practicals, lab quizzes, journal entries and a really annoying APA style paper. She was nice and lab was easy/fun. Take her if you can.
Well to be honest, the class was no doubt hard, it MICRO what do you expect. I had to work very hard to earn a A. But the teacher no help at all, and quite rude to say the least.
She's a nice teacher but I wouldn't take her again. She expects for her students to be as energetic and crazy about science as she is. Also, she makes you do way too much homework and her test are critical thinking questions, which are pretty difficult. But she is caring and is willing to work with you. If you're an introvert don't take this class
Professor Rediske is a nice professor and does care about her students learning, but tough. If you don't do the homework, go to class, or actually watch the crash course videos, you will not pass. The exams are super heavy on the material and very detailed, not to mention the homework assignments are a lot. Also, extra credit is rare and strict.
Might be one of the best professors I have had! I had a medical condition and she worked with me as best as she could. She really connects this class to the healthcare/profession aspect. She gives 10 points of extra credit on each test if you create your own study guide for each set of test material. You can really tell she wants you to succeed.
Rediske is a great professor. I was a little nervous at first because her reviews weren't good, but I'm so glad I took her. She gives an easy quiz every class and allows some extra credit on exams. Micro is a hard class as it is, but she enables you with everything you need to do good in the class. It really just comes down to the effort you apply
Dr. Rediske is very personable and provides you with necessary means to do well. She's more than willing to explain topics and really tries to help you remember the information. Of course the class is hard, but what else what else would you expect from an anatomy class? Pay attention, do the work, and you'll be fine. She's awesome, 10/10.
Dr. Rediske is an amazing and very helpful professor! The workload is heavy, but that's to be expected. Review the material, make the study guides, and focus on the homework! If given the opportunity, I would definitely take a class with her again.
Dr. Rediske is a great professor for Microbiology! She truly loves teaching and it shows! We all know Micro is not easy. She gives a lot of homework and quizzes BUT it helps you learn the material! Lab is great and lab reports are pretty easy and straightforward. She gives extra credit on exams! It's tough but stick with her, its worth it!!!
I've been coming to Valencia some time now and its really hard to find a teacher whos is understanding, personable, & passionate. Is her class challenging? Well yes, but this is college! If you're planning on taking this class you're probably interested in healthcare and this professor helped me prepare! I 1000% recommend this professor!
I would recommend that before taking this course you consider your schedule and other requirements. You will have NO LIFE. And that is because this course is taxing and very demanding. The professor does not care about your other issues although she states that she cares. I would recommend that you take Prof. Ingram. ESCAPE while you can!!!
This class was difficult. I will not sugar coat it. It required time & dedicated study. The best advice I could give is READ the textbook-if you care about KNOWING micro for your future this is the professor to take. She is passionate about micro-SERIOUSLY! She knows the class is hardoffers a ton of extra credit. Quizzes in EVERY class Lab & lec.
I took her for Microbio and AP1. Her classes are difficult as with most science courses but don't be discouraged. She starts each lecture with a check in quiz worth 5 points and she offers 10 extra credit pts per exam. As long as you read and get yourself into the habit homework. you'll be fine. I got A's in both micro and AP1, it's doable.
Prof. Rediske is really cool, but her class is really hard and she doesn't teach well or really at all. Anything I've learned from this class I've taught myself through the HOURS and hours of work she gives each week. DO NOT consider taking this class if you're lazy. I'm doing well in the class but I still don't recommend it because it is soo much.
Professor Rediske is a good teacher, but just make sure you do lots of studying to pass. She offers extra credit which helps a lot. There are 5 tests, lab quizzes every week and check in quizzes every week as well.
The excessive workload is completely unneccessary and unbeneficial. Group projects in class for no grade, lab reports, coloring pages, class entry quizzes EVERY class. You will work your ass off in this class to finish leaving dazed and confused. She will NOT answer questions you may have in class because it takes "the class off topic". Scattered
Absolutely LOVE Professor Rediske. Yes, the class is difficult but there is honestly no reason why you shouldn't get at least a C, honestly at least a B. She gives so many extra credit opportunities and will always curve the test if needed. She is happy to help outside of the class and is always available. Just do all your homework and STUDY HARD!
Literally the nicest human being and best professor I've had. 4 recorded zoom meetings. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. She goes above and beyond to make herself available to you and your schedule. The material is tough but she makes it easy to understand with the lectures. I'd take her over and over again
Took online due to covid, SHE CARES!!! projects, text reading 1 chapter a week, pre post lab 1 a week, lab quiz every week, extra credit study guides we make, lab practical and final, total of 5 tests (not including lab) this class is heavy but she makes it easy to learn take her it's an easy A she will rearrange anything for her students!!!!!!!!!!
She is one of my favorite professors at Valencia college. She makes learning fun with everything being online. Her zoom lectures are the best she is really funny. She also understands life happens and will work with you and do everything to help you pass her class!
She is the best professor. She records 1 hour zoom meetings 4x a week and you get 1 pt of extra credit a week just for attending. Cares a lot about her students. If every teacher at valencia was like her, it really would be a better place. There is 2 lab assignments and 2 check in quizzes weekly but she lets you revise and resubmit. EXTRA CREDIT!
She is a great professor. She really loves Micro and that evident. She wants to help you and makes herself accessible. She will work with you. Yes, you will have to work for a good grade! Lots of assignments but they make you really understand the concepts so its not busy work. 10/10 PROFESSOR I would recommend her to anyone! Model professor.
She really cares about her students. She is very good at teaching. I was scared to take this class online but she made everything possible to still get to "practice" the labs without actually being there. She is always available for her students if needed. She's truly amazing.
Dr Redinske was the best professor i've ever had. She's bad ass and has passion for teaching. She is also a very compassionate human and gives you the tools you need to succeed in her class.
Dr. Rediske is very knowledgeable and loves what she does you can tell! She is lenient and understands life happens. Plenty of extra credit opportunities, the assignments are heavy! tests are straight from the textbook. Pro Tip: study the chapter quizzes in my lab and mastering. Easy A if you do all of the assignments to the best of your abilities
Dr. Rediske is very passionate about her students success and learning. She will make you work!! Lots of extra credit. Group assignments on Google Doc, tests and quizzes, and Zoom live or recorded class available. We had 4-5 required Zoom classes each week we had to attend or watch recorded class. She had two TA's helping out too which was great.
This professor does do a lot of zoom meetings but she gives you unlimited attempts on assignments so you can correct them as many time until the due date for full credit. there is TONS of EC as well. Science is not my strong suit but I ended up with a high A. Definitely would take her again.
It's very clear that Professor Rediske has a passion for teaching. I learned so many materials that has helped me in future advance science courses. All the materials professor Rediske offers will help you! If you are planning to pursue a career in the medical field, I honestly recommend.
There are a lot of small assignments, but if you are not a great tester they balance the grade. It is really have hard not to get an A or B in this class if you do everything. Not protruded at all and lab videos are better than the horrible simulation labs in other classes. TAKE HER!
Took her this semester for micro, shes good, a tough grader but you can still pass. Uses lockdown browser and she gives lots of extra credit opportunities. She focuses a lot on plagiarism and she lets you resubmit assignments until the deadline to fix them.
She is nice so asking her for help was no problem. Unlimited attempts for pre/post labs and check in quizzes that she gives you feedback for (good for studying for the quizzes). Mastering bio does not take points off if you get wrong answers. Lots of assignments which is helpful in case you bomb a quiz or two. Mainly memorization for tests/quizzes.
Micro is a hard class regardless but Dr. Rediske makes it known she wants her students to succeed and does anything she can to help. Her lectures are easy to listen to, the lowest test grade gets dropped and replaced with an average of your other exam grades, chances to resubmit work before the deadline, and extra credit. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!
cons: lecture heavy, lots of busy work, check in quizzes, projects, Participation matters, grades heavy, gets mad when students dont know the answers, short answer responses. Pro: she makes it interesting and clear just keep up with the assignments and study everyday and dont have a life youll do great!
Good luck. You will have no life and be semi-traumatized. Find someone else if you have a job or easily get stressed. Narcy.
All honest review here. This professor isn't all that bad as the other reviews make it seem--in fact, she has the highest rating compared to other Microbiology instructors. Advice: if you take this class, it should be the only class you have on your schedule for the semester because it's ALOT of material every week (9-12) assignments due per week.
I firstly want to say DO NOT take this teacher if you are lazy or have a lot going on. How she has a good average on rate my professor blows my mind. Her class is really hard and she doesn't teach well or really at all. She was lecture heavy but I would not learn from them and would have to go home and reteach myself everything. Do not recommend
Okay, Professor Rediske is a good professor. But the work that is required every week is crazy. Its the feedback you get from her and then to fix your assignments just to turn in again so she can correct and leave with more feedback. She uses unicheck and that has to be under 25%. Take her if you like to do a lot of hw and just really into Micro.
THIS PROFESSOR IS HORRIBLE!!!! FIRST OF ALL SHE USES SOME STUPID PROGRAM CALLED UNICHECK, WHERE IT CHECKS IF YOU ARE COPYING FROM WEBSITES. WHICH IS STUPIDDDDD BECAUSE EVEN WHEN YOUR NOT GETTING YOUR INFORMATION FROM THE WEBSITES AND WRITE EVERYTHING IN YOUR OWN WORDS, YOU STILL GET A FEEDBACK TO DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. I REGRET TAKING HER
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
never again will i take this professor.
She is an amazing teacher, but the class is SO MUCH WORK. She's willing to help you in any way she can, you just have to put in the effort. I will say she gets annoyed when you don't know or remember something. She is an extreme extrovert so be prepared for loud, screaming, yelling, jumping, all of that. Group work is huge in her class as well.
She is bar far the best teacher I have had in my education past high school. She sets you up for success. She cares and will work with you. She goes over your test with you, so you can learn, AND gives you extra credit. You can redo all your work before the hard deadline and make a 100. Learning to write in your own words was tricky but got easy!
If you have a busy life, trying to fit in a degree, you won't have time for this class. This professor is extremely specific in what she is looking for and will return your work ungraded or failed until you correct it. I had a hard time keeping up. She gives several assignments and has several long lecture videos weekly that go over an hour each.
So I took this course and never again. I understand that microbiology is not an easy class, but mostly this professor is the one that is making it hard. Every time I submitted an assignment, she would always provide feedbacks and most were rude. All her tests are hand written and would take points off if she didn't like the response.
Not that much homework in this class, but the feedback makes it more homework. Meaning you can redo the assignments as many times as you want before the hard deadlines but 4 assignments can easily be as if they were 12 just because of how much you need to redo them to get a decent score. I would recommend aiming for an A then butcher the final.
I would not recommend this professor. She can be nice and give good lectures, but 1 hour long. Homework is a lot, and she gives feedback, so you have to go and correct it, which sets you back and then its hard to keep up. She can sometimes make you feel a little dumb when you ask questions. She really needs to specify better in her hw questions.
Don't listen to the people saying Dr. R is bad. She was hands down one of the best professors I've ever taken, She's engaging, offers feedback on your assignments and lets you re-submit for full credit and really does care about you as a student. Microbio won't be easy no matter who you take it with, but Dr. R will make sure you succeed.
Everything is written hw,quizzes, tests( lockdown)but if you take notes and watch her lectures you'll do fine. all test questions are in her lecture vids.labs are fun. she pushes her students but if you put the effort in you'll do great. allows u to resubmit hw for better grade upuntil deadline. ur grade depends on u ur not required to resubmit.
Professor R can be demanding, but is ultimately a great mentor who pushes you to succeed. The workload is heavy, but using tools like unstuck study alongside the textbook and lectures can help you stay on top of it.
I am currently in my clinical year in PA school and took her class in 2020. This microbiology class has helped me in my graduated program. I still use the assessment: explain how vaccines work in non science terms weekly. She makes you wish other sciences classes were like hers. Still 5 years later, I compare my graduate level classes to hers.
I just started her class at WSU, but she is so unbelievably disrespectful to her TA in front of students. She is always putting her down, which is super uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially in front of us. Hard to look past
