Mrs. Andrea it is one of the best professors for the computer classes. She did an amazing job and always there to help you! she cares for the students and always in a good mood. i would recommend her to anyone that wants to go in the computer field

TBH when I first started the class I did not like Andrea. She assigned way more homework than my first instructor, and she has a strict late homework policy. However after being in the class a few weeks I realized the extra rigor really helped me learn. Andrea's CNT160 class is what ultimately helped me pass my ICND1 exam. I highly recommend her!

Andrea is one of the most knowledgeable instructors I have had in my academic career. The amount of Cisco material is quite cumbersome, but rarely would she not have an answer to any question. She ensures that the material is explained in a clear and concise manner, and will reiterate if it is not understood. I highly recommend any of her courses.

Andrea is hands down the best instructor at GCC in my opinion. If you care about getting the most out of your education, take CNT 140 - CNT 170 with her. Be prepared to put 100% effort into these classes, communicate with Andrea, take her certification study class and you will have the best chance to pass your certifications that GCC can offer.

Great teacher. She teaches everything you need to know about networking. I learned a lot from her. Other students had a different teacher and they were behind in knowledge of things they need to know. I would take any of the classes she teaches.

Andrea Schauer utilizes several teaching techniques to keep the class alive and interesting. She is willing to explain a topic a number of times till its clear and understood. She is patient, and willing to come to the lab on other days to help students with their assignments. Although the 8-weeks class seems saturated, but I truly learned a lot!

Andrea is one of those rare teachers that is passionate and knowledgeable about the subject while also possessing an exceptional ability to educate students. I went into her CNT140/150 classes with absolutely no networking and computing knowledge, and was able to pass my ICND-1 first try with just a little review. Caring, thorough, passionate, tough but incredibly patient. A true asset to GCC.

Andrea's class CNT140 was amazing! She is a very good teacher and makes you participate in class, it makes more dynamic and interesting learning new concepts/topics. Of course, you need to read the chapter and take notes so you will be prepared for that lecture.

Andrea is the best teacher, she is always there for you, about any questions you may have about the course. Make us participate in class, there is a lot of homework to do but there is no other way around to learn new things, especially in this class.

TLDR; Awesome Professor I learned more in this class than I did throughout my entire degree. Expect a lot of homework and labs. My only complaint is that I felt class time was wasted going over the PowerPoint slides. I would have much rather spent that time addressing the areas that needed further explanation (SNMP, tunnels, QOS, BGP, etc).

Do the work and you will learn and pass. Legit 12-15 hours per week outside of classroom time.

Andrea was the best instructor Ive ever had, I wish I could take all my classes with her. she simply cares a lot about students, she show you different ways to learn the material and let you choose one. CNT 160 will be much more easier if you take CNT 140 and or CNT 150 with her too. She is awesome.

Andrea is by far one of my top 3 best instructors I have had. She is someone who is very intelligent regarding IT. CNT160 was brutal. Expect to work at least 6 hours outside of class on packet tracers, labs and reading. Handwritten notes due each week on all chapters. A lot of activities are weighted more than labs SO DO NOT SKIP THEM.

This class is hard and has a lot of homework to do but professor Andrea makes this class easy and enjoyable. She is very respectful and knowledgable. She cares about her students and how they learn and always looking for feedback from students to make sure they understand the material. I recommend her to everyone who wants to learn Cisco.

She is s GREAT instructor. Yes the workload is heavy, but you will be in an excellent position to pass the test for the certification.

If you are serious, and I mean really serious about getting certified, (ICND and CCNA) then choose Professor Schauer. I already had an A in CNT140 with a different professor, when I took 150 with Andrea, I quickly figured out that I was not properly instructed in the previous class, I paid out of my own pocket to retake Andrea's 140 class.

Be prepared for this hybrid to be a full time job. It is not easy, even when you are working in the field. You will work HARD constantly from start to finish bc its a compressed class. Your homework load is consistently heavy! If you aren't prepared to work nonstop this is not for you. Andrea is easily accessible and Im in 150 with her now.

I got my CCNA R&S because of her. Very positive professor and she take care of her students. This class opens your mind about networking and it all make more sense what was learned from CNT140 up to this class. Andrea knows the material and it does know how to explain a topic. Be prepare to work. Best professor I've ever had.

Andrea is an amazing instructor I took her CNT140 class in person. I took CNT150 with her this semester. Due to Covid pandemic the class was made 100% online. Andrea made sure every class was successful. Her lectures contain valuable industry experience and after taken both classes I feel really prepared to take the CCNA exam soon.

Andrea is a great teacher who brings years of industry experience to the classroom. She demands a lot from her students but its all worth it seeing as how I passed the CCNA exam on my first try. Follow her lead and she will take you were you want to go.

Every class, she uses fun fast paced games and class quizzes along WITH the lecturing which not only makes each class go by fast, but also helps students inadvertently memorize what she is teaching. Andrea, is a great professor. She's very accessible. Anytime i send an e-mail, she responds promptly. She's also very engaging in class, making sure everyone participates. It helps reinforce the material. Questions are always welcomed, She's happy to make sure all her students are well informed and understand the material.

Professor Andrea is the best professor I have ever met. She is very sociable and friendly with students, not difficult during classes. You can raise any issues about the lesson or a new knowledge that you update and discuss with her, there will be a lot of surprises, because she always gives you the answers you need and more What you expect.

Having Ms. Schauer as my CNT150 teacher has really taught me what the expectation is for the networking industry. She always gives excellent feedback on all labs and lab commands and ways that you can fix your mistakes. In terms of work, it can be overwhelming sometimes but it's a reasonable amount for everything that your learning.

Amazing teacher. Great enthusiasm for this class. Her class is definitely tough and required to take a ton of notes, but it is worth it if you are aiming to earn your CCNA. She has a ton of assignments and quizzes but are all great and meant to help you retain everything you are learning for Cisco. I would take all of my Cisco classes with her.

If you want to take a networking class, definitely take it with Andrea. While the class was condensed, and you had to learn a lot of information in a little bit of time Andrea made herself very accessible, and very understanding so it was very easy to get help outside of class. She was definitely the most caring professor I have met in college.

Especially, she made the atmosphere in the class is always fun, so I could not feel boring or fell asleep. Besides, she had a mentor I loved too. That was Leslie. In CNT150 she rearranged the chapters so subjects on the same information were put together allowing the students to learn and comprehend the information better. Teaching style is good as it's more student lead and participation by students is key to your success. Generally don't expect to leave early and she always wants to use the whole class period to go over topics and any questions you might have.

Professor Schauer is great. She really cares whether or not you are grasping the material, and does everything in her power to help you "get it." There is, however, A LOT of course work. If you want to do well in this class you need to be able to devote the time to do so. BUT, the course work is NOT Busy work, it all has a point and purpose.

She is not afraid to call you out but she means it in the best ways possible as she is doing a great job in preparing you for the CCNA exam. CNT140AB is a great introductory course into Networking Administration. This course is very content heavy and fast paced, but professor Schauer makes sure students are understanding the material and is flexible with most assignment due dates. The course provides great hands on experience & plenty of tutoring opportunities. Great course overall!

There are a lot of IT classes, but there aren't many that are quite like the ones at GCC. The use of actual cisco equipment prepares you with real life skills and makes you familiar with devices that you'll be using in your career. On top of that, she is a strong advocate for her student's success and will work with you if you work with her.

I love Andrea's classes. I started my college education not knowing a thing about networking, but now am comfortable setting up topologies and building my networks. Extraordinarily knowledgeable professor that is able to teach lecture in a disgustable and interesting manner. Very hands on with labs that directly implement everything taught from the lecture and easily shows the practicality of the course material. Fairly heavy workload/note taking and lecture length. Would happily take more classes with her.

There were a few times when I felt overwhelmed and did not get the course material, but Andrea hopped on a video call and worked with me so that I could get it.
