This instructor is fantastic! Lectures are helpful to all students; whether you're a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner, she's got it covered! She's young and can relate very well to the students, and is always willing to help. She's always in a good mood and likes to be funny. Tests are very straightforward and easy if you take time to study
shes SICK! very cool and makes a very comfortable learning environment. like i said "SHES SICK!!!"
Prof. Schnitz is great! The class is easy but loaded with fun and interesting information. Prof. Schnitz is funny and her lectures are extremely helpful. Study for the exams and you'll get an A. There's PLENTY of extra credit given, so if you get a C or lower in the class.... there's something seriously wrong with you. Great class!!!
Lectures were clear and she took the time to help if there were any questions. She was available for office hours. Laboratory was fun and interesting. Exams were fair and covered all aspects of learning abilities. Her enthusiam for the class was contagious! If you study, you'll get an A in her class. It was a BLAST!
The lectures are a little on the droning side. all it is is lectures the entire class period. But the tests are easy and if you study your handouts you will get an easy A for sure. She is a young teacher who is very enthusiastic and you can tell she loves what she does! Well worth taking class with her. Bring an ipod though juss incase ;-)
A Lab taken to the next level! The class was alright, but the lab was amazing. We had so much fun and its just a chill environment! She acts more like a friend than a teacher the entire time. Just socializing and having fun for 2 hours! and who knew you could have that much fun on a field trip.. really!
Great teacher, young and enthusiastic. Just pay attention and go to class. She is very helpful in answering any questions. Study for the exams, (after all this is college & you do have to study) and there is no reason why you can't get an A in this class.
This Class was so easy with her. She is very helpful and gives out lots of Extra Credit. You can't take her class without passing it and the tests aren't that hard either. She grades attendance, in-class activities (they are rare), participation, homework (Article analysis), Ethogram Project and presentation, and Tests. There's no final Exam.
GREATEST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD IN COLLEGE!. I give her an A+++!! She is VERY helpful, her lectures are VERY clear, i never get bored in her class, and just absolutely amazing! Get her for a teacher, and she'll rock your world.
BEST TEACHER EVER!! she is really helpful and her class goes by really fast...YOU SHOULD DEFINETELY TAKE HER CLASS!!
shes probably the best teacher ive had at any level, def take her class!!
ms. s is cool.i had her for bio lab hell i should have taken her for lecture. she gives tons of extra credit so that you can pass the class.
Just take her. Shes such a sweetheart. You'll do well if you put in the effort. Trust me.
You have to be a complete idiot who does not care about school to fail her class, she is the most helpful teacher i've ever had, it's a lot of hw, but its all simple stuff, dont take if ur lazy, overall GREAT TEACHER
Very cool professor. Really enjoyed her class and the project done as well. I would take her lab class if I didn't already finish at the school. Really down to earth and gives a lot of extra credit
Ms.S is a great teacher. She is very clear about what needs to be done. Her class is easy and she gives out so much extra credit its insane. Easy A+ Shes cool and has a random humor. Take her class.
She just regurgates the book to you. The first two tests the whole class failed. She curved it...but still that's a little weird in a class out of over 20 everyone needs a curve.
Had her for lab, and she was really nice. Little quizzes everyday, plenty of extra credit, and easy labs. You pretty much spend class explaining the lab, completing question from your lab book, and after you complete the lab you can leave. Its a chill class, just make sure you show up cause too many absences will hurt you, no make up quizzes!
She doesnt restate the book to you which in some cases which leads to confusion.also has a problem with tests.the last 3 tests the class avg was in the low 50's. I dont know about the final because she graded thos after we were gone 3 out of 4 tests is bad. she also has a tendency to lose your work. I turned in 2 assig. and she says I didnt.
Nice teacher with a cute sense of humor but her lectures are vague, which may require you to probe her with questions. Her office hours are practically non-existent (and not listed on her syllabus). She accepts late work & extra credit but I would consider another teacher- one that generates interest in the topic and has more availability.
She is a nice woman and all but her teaching talent is not all that good. THe class is so boring. Nice sense of humor but all she had was powerpoints and pretty much read you the book in her own words. I just suggest a different teacher.
she is a great teacher, may not have office hours but she goes online, which makes up for that. very helpful. lets studetns do much extra credit. many ways to get a grade up. i recommend her.
took her lab course, it was very fun and easy. The best part of the lab activities are the field trips! there is lots of writing and charting all of the results of the labs. Quizes are easy and no exams, just lots and lots of writing. TAKE THE CLASS.
She's certainly a character. She's sweet, passionate in what she teaches, gives plenty of extra credit opportunities, but if you're not interested in the subject, class can be so boring. She is very repetitive and a lot of what was taught seemed like common sense. I'd recommend the class however.
Her tests are very hard but if you go to all classes and do ALL the extra credit stuff you can pull an A even if you do bad on her crazy tests.
I took Bio 130 Animal Behavior class with professor Schnitz and I found her class so interesting! She loves animals and she is obsessed with her dog. The class is not difficult, however you have to put an effort into it so you can pass it. It is now an easy A but it is EASIER than Bio 100
The class is interesting if you had a good night sleep and a healthy, nutritious breakfast in the morning. This is important so you can use every bit of energy to stay awake. With that said, it is probably one of my favorite class because Ms. Schnitz is a good professor all around. The test failure rate is quite high though, so study hard.
Took her for BIO 130 & 131. She's sweet. She actually cares about what she teaches, and is refreshingly intelligent. The exams are a little challenging, but she mostly gives take home quizzes which are straight from the notes. Lots of extra credit too. I got an A with no background in Biology. The lab class is fun because of the field trips!
This professor is a very sweet person always trying to say jokes and trys to be the best drawer. Her homework is sometimes hard you just need to really focus a lot. But her exams are crazy but the good thing is if you do all the extra credit you will pass with a good high grade. Plus the trip to the zoo makes this class even more fun.
This professor really has a funny personality she really talks a lot about her dog though. Her exams are a bit insane though so you really have to study hard! Her homework are kinda easy as well. Make sure to write good notes to study. The only main fun thing about this class is going to the zoo, Which at the end you will create a big project!
Miss. Schnitz is really nice and helpful. She can draw awesome pictures and she has really funny comments that are totally random. This class was really hard due to her intense exams which are half scantron and open ended questions. The hw wasnt easy but she gives you a lot of time to finish it. Be prepared to do a 6 hour ethogram report!
Awesome teacher. Do the work, attend each class and ask if it's unclear, she'll be happy to explain it further. :)
Had her only for Animal Bio lab, but loved her class! She's fun and keeps things interesting. Lots to learn but she's very thorough in her lectures. She's a nice lady and you can always talk to her about homework. You'll get an easy A if you keep up and do all you work.
I took her bio lab class & she is such a sweet professor. She genuinely wants her students to learn & pass the class. Very understanding. Thank you, Andrea!
Professor Schnitz is awesome! She was a wonderful professor and for a difficult subject like biology she makes it easy to understand. Her exams are not that intense especially if you study. There is extra credit offered and if you do well on your homework and quizzes you may receive extra credit as well. Fun professor! Take her but study hard!
took her lab class Very nice professor! She is helpful and funny. Really seems like she wants everyone to pass. If you don't understand something she will explain it until you do. Recommend
Took her Wed night class from 630-920pm and she really uses up the entire length of the class, so don't expect to leave early. Her lectures are very thorough and she is funny so it makes the time fly. She is very organized and prepared, giving tons of real-life examples to explain the topics so everyone can relate & grasp the concepts. Thumbs up!
Great professor! She's very organized and respectful. Her lectures are interesting and funny sometimes. Bio 100 is indeed demanding, so expect to READ a lot in order to understand the course.
She's cool, her quizzes and test are very easy as long as you study. Her lecture is also very informative.
She is awesome!!! I should of taken her for lecture. I learned more in her lab than my lecture. I really recommend her. She's always willing to help you.
I took her in fall for BIO lab, got an A. She is very nice and sweet and will explain everything to you. Plus she is understanding. There is a quiz each lab, at the start. So you better be on time. She drops your 3 lowest test scores at the end of semester. There is no homework for exception of 2 papers (A lab report & a lab reflection). & NO FINAL
Absolutely loved this class. There is a 5 question quiz before every lab but she always gives extra credit on them. Super nice and always helpful. One major project but it was really fun. For someone who's not into science, I had a great time in the class. If you attend you will for sure get an A.
Prof. S is AWESOME! I took her over the summer and the lectures were 3 hours long but she made it go by fast with everything we covered and the way she explains the topics. She's very clear on he grading system, if you stick to that and get at least C's on the tests, you can still get a B. She gives extra credit so make sure to do it! Great Prof!
AWESOME TEACHER! You will read a lot, but it's nothing complicated. Her lectures are super clear and interesting, the whole class is. Easy is you go to all her classes and pay a minimum of attention. Well organized, lots of extra credit. Cliche as it sounds, the real obstacle is really yourself
She is hands down the best professor I or you will ever have. She is extremely helpful, always answers your emails, and is very nice and friendly. Her lectures are fun and interesting. Her exams are exactly what she taught you in class and exactly what you will read in the textbook. Extra credit provided, don't miss class or arrive late, I warn you
Her attitude makes the class better even if you are not interested in the subject shes pretty funny and has fun personality. for bio 130 you do one major project but its not hard. over all its an easy class but you have to do all the work to get a good grade. i would take her again shes a nice lady
She's funny and enthusiastic about Biology and explains everything clearly. She tells you what you need to know for the quizzes and exams in simple terms. Reading the book can get overwhelming at times but she is very good and making you understand the material during lecture.
Took Professor Schnitz's night class over the summer for Bio, and she is such a sweetheart. Lecture's heavy, but it's a 3 hour course. She made learning bio easy and fun at the same time. Not that much homework though. Gives many extra credit opportunities. Would take her again!!
One of the best professors ive had at SWC.
Professor Schnitz is so sweet and funny! Her class is interesting and she makes you enjoy learning about biology. Her exam are kind of difficult it just really depends if you study or not. Make sure you do all the homework and assignment to receive full credit and she does drops the lowest exam
She is probably one of the best professors at SWC, she is extremely sweet and funny. I enjoyed her class because she made it fun. I recommend this class to everyone who does not need bio 100. For the lab class we have a lab every class so if you miss class you are missing a lot of points. Go to class and you'll pass and have fun.
Professor S is so nice and funny. You can tell she cares about her students and wants them to succeed. The material was hard to understand but she explains it very well. You have 4 quizzes but 3 of them were in groups, 8 homework assignments, 2 reflection on bio,4 study guides, and 4 exams which she drops lowest. Extra credit as well! Take her!!
She was honestly the worst professor I have ever met. She has no sense of compassion at all. Her lectures are extremely boring and her sense of humor is extremely WHACK. It is so hard to listen to her lectures because she is terrible at explaining things and goes off topic a lot. The only reason for my decent grade was because I had to each myself.
Overall a professor with a warm and caring personality. Exams are a good chunk of your grade but study guides are always provided. Definitely wants her students to understand the content but sometimes I got pretty lost. Bring the text with you to class. It'll help you follow lecture easier. Easy pass if you just do the little work required.
Prof. Schnitz is such a sympathetic person and wants you to succeed. Although there's a ton to read and memorize, she does a tremendous job summarizing each concept so don't skip class. On top of that, she provides a lot of extra credit which is simple and helps your grade, so do them.
Easy A, engage in the lectures & you'll earn an A -- she makes the class enjoyable and interesting.
Professor Schnitz is a really good professor, but get ready to do TONS of homework and TONS of papers. You have one project due at the end of the semester which is the Ethogram. She is not a tough grader however you truly need to understand the material in order to get A's or B's on the exams. STUDY for the exams they are super heavy and hard.
She is an amazing Professor, and is always so happy and positive. Lectures are FUN and DYNAMIC. She wants YOU to learn, and will help you in anyway if you are interested in learning. Homework is easy, 4 small quizzes, and 4 Exams (she will drop the lowest score). You also have a ton of EXTRA CREDIT. She will also curve exams!!! :-)
If Biology is your major, then take it. If you are taking Biology just to get over it , don't. She has a weird way to grade assignment, don't be surprised. She has no empathy at all. Lecture heavy.
Took over the summer, great professor but if you want that A you gotta study hard for those tests, she has study guides so work on thoses. She's nice and respected, if I had to take a science class again I would take her again despite hating science.
I took the course in summer and she was sooo good considering how fast it goes. Shes very clear on what will be tested, and she drops the lowest exam. She makes lecture go by really fast even if you dont like bio youll understand atleast enough to pass ! Take her !!
I had professor Schnitz let me just say she is really caring and determined to help you pass. If you put in the effort or are struggling she will break it down or find different methods for you to grasp it. I am telling you she is a great professor. hahha if you have her she is cheesy and speaks with her hands best Biology teacher I ever had !!!
Mrs. Schnitz goes off on tangents a lot but I love her lectures. She makes learning about tougher subject matter fun and enjoyable. She answers questions in a way that really gives you the clarity that you need. I would highly recommend taking her as she always has a fun way to help remember things. Absolutely wonderful
She was great, gives you clear assignments & her lectures are very informative. She does take up every minute of class time, so if you are late or miss a class, you will be lost/behind. She gives 10 question quizzes every week, and 50 question exams, with fill in the blanks. Homework every week, and tons of extra credit towards the end of semester.
#Bio190not100! I LOOOOOOOVE Professor Schnitz!!! The semester isn't over just yet, but I had the need to rate her.. She preps you well for her tests, she is SO SWEET, CARING, and informative.. She enjoys her lectures, and teaching them which makes learning easier.. BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT IN TH EFFORT TO STUDY!! Study, study, study and you will pass!
BIO 260 not 130 Prof Schnitz is very caring and honestly wants her students to succeed. Took her for Anatomy, ALWAYS helps any time! She goes out of her way to help you understand. She literally will test you on everything. Don't go based off her lectures because she uses it to hit main point, READ the book and use YOUTUBE.
#BIO260 not 100. She is the sweetest prof. I had so far, she wants her students to pass. This class is so hard honestly, I had to drop it within the first month. STUDY A LOT GO TO OPEN LAPS. yes you will need the textbook and lots of flashcards. PLEASE DO NOT SKIP CLASS, every class is important.
I enjoyed taking this class. Professor made the class fun. As long as you do your work, find a good group to work with and do all the assignments you'll pass. Quizzes aren't hard and the projects are fun to do.
I loved this professor. Shes always very energetic and keeps class exciting. Very approachable and helpful if you dont understand something. Tests are pretty intense so make sure you go by her studying guides, if material isnt on there it wont be on the exam. Read book, and record lectures. Thats what helped me a lot.
Her lectures are hard to listen to because she is boring and she goes off topic a lot of the times and it makes you lose track of what you're even learning. Expects you to know what's she knows already and her tests are very hard. Would not recommend
Ms Schnitz is a very nice teacher! She does know her area of study, she gave about 6 major exams (half practical/half lecture), and 6 packets of homework overall. Bio 260 itself is a lot of information to take in, so be sure to read the textbook and go to open lab to make use of the models, those are used for exams.
Professor Schnitz is a great instructor. She knows how to keep you interested in the subject and doesn't hesitate to help when you ask. Take her class, you won't regret it!
She's honestly a great professor. You can tell she is really passionate about teaching. Anatomy is hard AF, though. Do not go into this class expecting not to study a ton. 6 test days on different anatomical systems. 2 tests each test day. One on models, slides, and body parts. Second is more conceptual with multiple choice and free response.
Professor Schnitz is an alright teacher. With the online classes I think her teaching got worse. Her lectures are tedious and boring and she expects you to know and understand everything she's teaching. Her exams are hard and she's extremely picky with short answers and using the textbook as reference during exams/quizzes.
shes very nitpicky about how you spell things on exams, one letter off and you get the entire question wrong. during class she keeps it very energetic and lively. however she goes through slides really fast & expect you to already know the material shes teaching.
Professor Schnitz was such an amazing professor, one of the best at SWC! Anatomy is not my favorite subject but she managed to make it fun and interesting to the best of her ability. She is a very easy going teacher, allows ways for you to do extra credit and boost your grade throughout this semester. I would definitely take any class she teaches!
Great teacher Bio can be difficult so in order to pass I had to take notes from the lectures following the study guide & being able to explain it in my own words. The class consisted of 4 exams (than can be hard if you don't study), 4 quizzes, daily homework & short discussions. She also gave us 20 points of Extra credit at the end of the semester.
Because this class is hard and a lot of memorization, I had to seek out office hours. You have to be prepared to take a lot of notes. I advise you to take pictures of everything in the lab because you will be tested about it on the lab practicum. All models, microscope slide was asked in the practicum. Take pictures and videos of the dissections!
Professor Schnitz is very passionate about Biology! However, she does grade tough, ensuring to not only study the material but also know exactly how to spell it. If you misspell an answer, she will deduct points. Grading aside, her class is very fun, I loved it!
I took this Professor for Bio 210. Though keep in mind a hard class, she makes lectures very accessible and is awesome when it comes to Lab. She provides a study guide for every exam, and encourages team work. Greatest study tip I can give for her exams is to use flashcards and memorize models till you're able point out anything in them.
Prof schnitz is one of the best professors you are going to have . I can really tell she cared about her students and felt love . The thing is that Bio 210 is an extremely memorization based course I am not the greatest at that. Keep in mind you will have to do a lot of memorization . If you are good at that take the course. If you are not then idk
A lot of material is covered, more like an 8 unit course than 4 unit. Expect to study 2x more. Focus, read the textbook and answer the questions in it, use the lab time wisely, go to open labs, practice writing the labels by hand because spelling is worth 1/2 point. If you know the study guide and can answer the section questions you should be ok.
Bio 260 is an extremely hard class. I would suggest to take this class by itself because of the amount of work you have to cover. The professor seemed nice but her teaching style was giving me more anxiety than anything else. I wouldn't take this class with this professor. Unless you already know a lot about this particular subject.
You will never catch a break with either a quiz or an exam every week. I've never cried about a class until now
Loved having her! She is incredibly smart, and is willing to help you with your schoolwork. Human anatomy is tough in general, lots of studying, but she made everything interesting and fun. Be careful on spelling and show up to open lab as much as possible if you want to pass. She also offers extra credit.
She cares about her students and is always willing to answer any questions. Anatomy is not an easy class in general, it's a lot of memorization of the anatomical systems, and don't forget about the lecture. You have to be willing to put in the hard work and study bit by bit after every class because the practicals and lectures are worth a lot.
BIO260 is a very difficult class but she makes it really fun and makes sure her students understand what she's teaching. Expect a lot of information every class and it takes a lot of your time to study outside of class so it's something to consider if you're planning to take more classes. The exam is difficult and includes short response questions.
I will admit her class is challenging. We had either a lecture exam, quiz, or lab practicum every week. You must dedicate time after class to study dissections and lecture material. That being said, the class was fun learning about different organisms and seeing their organs and unique characteristics. I would retake the class if I had to.
I absolutely love Andrea. She is very personable, and she has a way of presenting the material that really helps. With that being said, anatomy is a very tough, test heavy class. If you want an A grade, make sure you dedicate time to it. Pay attention to class and follow her study guides. There are no surprises, just never-ending arduous work.
Professor Schnitz was very patient and kind. The course material is what got most of the class to withdraw/fail. She does give extra credit points to help. Her study guide can be confusing since most of the time the exam doesn't have any of that material in it. However, at the end of the day it's up to you to put in the time.
Professor Schnits is very good and helpful, she definitely loves teaching but if you are not able to put in at least 6 hours of study every week then do not take this class. There are a lot of studying concepts and she really wants you to learn so it is a very difficult class. Labs are fun but you are expected to learn all the parts of animals.
She was awesome!! The exams were kinda hard because of how much info we saw in every single lecture, but I would totally take her again. You can definitely see that she cares about her students and that she loves her job, which makes labs more fun. 10/10 love her
has a passion for biology and will clearly explain and answer all of your doubts, the lab exams are very hard, however, it is all in the lectures. Lectures are packed of information, so be ready to take notes.
I have taken different professors for different sciences, but I have to say she is one of the best professors I have had. She is clear about expectations about this course. She gives you all the tools to continue performing well in her class. You want an A or B, it is strictly on you. She gives you different ways to approach the material.
Schnitz is a super kind, enthusiastic and caring professor. She has clear expectations on everything, fair grading & gives you a ton of chances to get points in. It can be a tough class but its also SUPER FUN, & getting an A is totally possible! Study hard, make some friends, pay attention, & take good notes/pictures. Take her if you need 210!!
In my personal opinion, Zoology with professor Schnitz is quite easy, as long as you dedicate a solid amount of time outside of class for studying all the material very closely. She's very open about what will and won't be on exams, and will guide you throughly through any question you might have.
I already gave her a rating but I wanted to come back now that I'm studying for the TEAS. I'm using the ATI study material, and I'm scoring in the high 90s on all of the anatomy questions and it's all thanks to prof Schnitz. This class covers a lot of material, so commit. The review that said the study guide material isn't on the exams is wrong.
She is a good teacher, I do feel like she does not well prepare you for lectures. The study guide is nice but not too dependable on the lecture. Might have to rely on an expensive textbook. When u ask for help, she mainly makes u find it. Lectures are long. Makes you stay the whole time. I feel like there are less stressful teachers instead.
Professor Schnitz is my absolute favorite. The class does have a lot of info but she holds your hand the whole time. And she was hilarious, it would be 7am and she would be cracking jokes, getting everyone's brain going. In a relatable corny way. She made biology fun and kept students engaged. Definitely recommend taking her if you want to learn.
Professor is tough grader, you only have homework every two weeks and the exams are heavy graded. Spelling matters when it comes to anatomical vocabulary. The study guides are very 2 to 3 pages long and prof makes you study everything on it, and only half of it will come up on exams.
I really loved having Professor Schnitz, she is amazing. Her lectures are clear and detailed, and she truly cares about student success. She is always willing to answer questions and gives us all the tools we need. In the end, it depends on the effort you put, but if you study consistently and go to open lab from the beginning, you will succeed :)
Biol 210 is an overall difficult class, but she makes the material so easy to follow and understand. I loved her class and wish more bio professors were like her. She is so sweet and understanding and rarely gives out hw. Her grading system is amazing and there's no final!!! I 100% recommend and hope to take another one of her classes in the future
Anatomy is hard but she makes it manageable, be ready to do the work and read a lot, also spend as much time as possible on the lab using the models. She's very sweet and caring and her lectures are very easy to understand. She is willing to explain things in different ways until you get it. I love her and would definitely take her again, love her!
