She's very clear explaining things and does examples many times to get you to understand the problem. She goes everything VERY thoroughly... she's ON TIME to class, no matter how sick she feels, she'll come to teach. She covers a A LOT in one lecture so attendance is a MUST. She grades very fairly, she tries to give you points as much as possible.

i took her for a quick winter session. she really doesn't play. i didn't grasp the material until the 5th day and the next day was the final. she isn't one of those math teachers who give you credit for previous work once you mastered it. I hope i get a B ??

She is a cool teacher don't miss class because she doesn't allow make ups, she goes over everything pretty thorough so you shouldn't get lost, don't be afraid to ask questions keep up with math XL, participate it helps a lot when it comes to extra points, and try not to be late she will signal you out.

I took Professor Steelman for Algebra Fast Track during the Winter 2011 session. Before her class, I hadn't taken a math class in years. I usually don't like math classes, but Steelman makes it easy with her clear explanations. She's very friendly and very helpful. Just make sure you're ON TIME. She hates it when students are late. Steelman is a great professor. She is tough and her grading can be very specific but well worth it. She also has her random hilarious moments. Take her! Really nice professor, always willing to help students. However, her tests are a bit tricky and has a huge impact on your grade. Don't bother buying the textbook, as she only uses it for a source (which is rarely). Otherwise, she's serious, and motivated for all of her students to do successful in the class

Be prepared to learn and show up on time. Prof. Steelman delivers organized, focused, quality instruction. The instruction is based off the textbook and she makes good use of MyMathLab. If your goal is to learn, and not just pass, Prof. Steelman is an excellent choice. The homework level makes her class hard (2), but prepares you. Highly recommend.

Prof. Steelman is an excellent choice for Precalculus. This is a difficult class which is why the rating is 'Hard'. If you are here to learn and want the best value for your school dollar then register for her class. This was my second math class with her and I would take any math class she taught. Register early, her classes fill fast.

If you manage to get her for Calculus, count you lucky stars. She provides so many resources, responds to emails quickly, grades and has it up pretty much with 24 hours, if you ask for it she will help you and she understands the material very well. She's the best.

I had Steelman for Math080, a non credit math. She was very nice and helpful during our meetings. This class is mainly self taught and online. I recommend you take math 080 in half a semester and take the next non credit math in the second half. 080 can be very easy if you push yourself and don't get distracted by the professors good looks.

You do board work in class and she is always available during her office hours. One of the few professors at MC who actually cares about making sure you do well in her class. I took Professor Steelman for Calc 1 and Calc 3. She is the BEST professor I've ever had. She made class seem "easy" - I agree with others that she is demanding but she knows how to teach and inspires the class to do well. I will say that she is a bit tougher than I expected though. You will work a lot outside of class if you want to do well.

She will send you reminders. She will push you really hard but its for your own good. And, if youre doing good, she lets you know. She emails back immediately too.

Professor Steelman is a really good professor! In Math 050 the lectures are in the computer through ALEKS software. But she will com to check on you and see if you have any question, she will sometimes lecture for the class as well to make sure everybody understand a complicated topic. Attendance is very important! I highly recommend her!!

If you want to learn and need to take DL, take her. If you want to just get through the course with a grade, don't take her. Calc 2 is hard but she provides all the resources you need and responds to emails almost immediately. She also gives test reviews on weekends online. I have never met her but I know she cares.

Professor Steelman changed my life. I thought I was bad at math until she showed me I could do it. I just passed calculus with a B and owe it her. She gave me confidence. Go see her in office hours and get to know her. She is blunt, honest, but wants you to succeed.

I took Prof Steelman's online Calc2 class. She was so supportive, very responsive and really wanted people to learn. This was the best online class I have ever taken. But you MUST be willing to do the work. You cannot skate by and expect to do well. This is true for all of life. She wants you to succeed but you must do your part and work hard.

I never was good at math, and struggled a lot in the course, especially in the 5-week summer semester. Prof Steelman got me through it. Whether it was answering dumb algebra questions at 3 am, grading my final extra fast so I could take the next course, or staying after overtime office hours to help me work a problem, Prof S always has your back.

Before this class, I was so disappointed, stressed, and upset about taking math but professor Steelman changed the way I used to think about math. She was there for me whenever I needed help and that was very important for me. She answers emails very frequently and provides clear feedback. She is nice, but you have to study.

Good teacher in person, I do not recommend online learning with her. Due to her silly and sarcastic nature, it can be hard to communicate over Zoom meaningfully and to understand what she means. Rewrote the entire textbook down to the basics, very determined and hardworking. WTA.

Professor Steelman made this online class super manageable and stress-free. The class was self-taught through the online textbook and supplemental videos provided by the professor. Each unit included online homework, chapter tests as well as a midterm and final exam. She is very fun to talk to and accessible outside of class.

She is a teacher who teaches to the level of the individual student. Of course, the same amount of submissions and homework is given, but it is organized to keep the student manageable! In addition, her video lectures are excellent and clear. You should definitely go to Class Hour as well! I took two courses, and both were very well organized.

An incredible professor! She makes sure all instructions are stated at the top of the home page for the class, setting up a schedule for you for the week! The coursework is difficult, with a discussion post every once in a while! She gives plenty of time to complete the unit homework and test, and I took an accelerated course! Would 100% Recommend!

This is the best professor I've had yet at Montgomery College. She cares about her students and will respond to emails quickly. Not a tough grader whatsoever. She gives every opportunity for extra credit and her blackboard layout was very easy. Would definitely have her again.
