Really sweet lady, explains things well, cares about your metal health because Physics is ridiculously hard. She is on your side when it comes to answering questions thoroughly and meeting with you if you need extra help understanding the concepts.
Professor Strock is amazing. She's such a great teacher and an even better person. She really cares about student success and is very accessible outside of class. She's pretty funny and gives great feedback. Physics is hard at GCU as it is sort of self taught, but she's great at explaining the content multiple ways so you understand. I recommend.
Professor Strock is so helpful and so approachable. She explains things so well in lecture and she takes it at a steady pace so that you can understand it! She is more than willing to help you with your homework as well as your CAT problems (2 online questions that are graded). UTALIZE HER! She is great! She is the best teacher for physics at GCU!
Her lab is very straight forward and she is very active with her students. She is always walking around making sure everyone knows what they are doing and if they need assistance she jumps right in and helps. She is very specific on what she is looking for when grading your reports HAVE HER CHECK OVER IT! She is amazing please take her if you can!
She is amazing. Truly wants her students to succeed and is willing to help in any way she can.
Can't express enough how awesome Professor Strock is. She's incredibly helpful and very personable. She's approachable so you're not intimidated asking for help. She has a good sense of humor so class is never dry. She is always so positive and encouraging. I would highly recommend taking one of her classes, you will not regret it.
Professor Strock is the best teacher I have ever had a GCU. She is a great physics professor and she is a great person to get to know outside of class. She goes out of her way to make sure that her students understand the material and stops during lecture to explain things in a different way if her students do not understand. I highly recommend!!!!
Strock is one of the best professors I have ever taken. She breaks down difficult topics and really makes it so simple. Always asks student for questions and will go over material until everyone fully understands. Gives real life examples to help relate topics. She's so funny and laid back I'm so lucky to have switched into this class with her.
Professor Strock is the best teacher you could ever get. She is extremely helpful both in class and in office hours. She genuinely wants every student to succeed and sat with me on a regular basis to help with homework and the practice quizzes. She will do anything she can to help her students succeed.
She gives the answers to the multiple choice practice quizzes each week. She holds study sessions before exams. Very sweet woman, she even brought donuts for our class once. She helped me all semester with homework and understanding concepts. She made an unbearable class worth taking.
She is the best physics professor at GCU. She cares for all of her students. She has a good sense of humor so class is always fun. During lab, she always walks around checking on every group. She even helped me for lecture, which I didn't have her for. She doesn't give you the answers, but makes you think about them until you get it. TAKE HER!!
Professor Strock is the best! I have so much respect for her, not because of what a great educator she is, but because she is an even better person. As a professor she makes herself available at convenient times throughout the semester. She is also fun to hang out with and get to know. She makes Physics interesting. You will not regret taking her.
I loved being in Professor Strock's lab. She's great for lab because she continuously walks around helping everyone. If you're struggling, she WILL help you. Put in the effort and you will be fine.
Professor Strock is the best! She's so sweet and cares about everyone's success. She's so smart and is always willing to help students. She has a good sense of humor and is easy to talk to. I HIGHLY recommend taking any one of her courses, even if it is at 7am, it is worth it. You will love being in her class and you will not regret the choice.
Strock is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is very knowledgeable and will do whatever she can to help you understand something. She even helped those in my lab class who did not have her for lecture. For my second semester, I had her for lecture and she was so helpful, you just have to work hard to earn a good grade,
Andrea is a amazing teacher. I had her for Physics Lab. She is very clear with what she wants on her lab reports, and she actually made learning about physics fun. During labs she would play Disney music, and was very helpful with asking answering questions on the lab. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
Great teacher, very caring. Clear lectures and material and make sure you understand everything. Helpful with homework. Made a tough class better. Would definitely take again.
Strock is awesome! Would definitely recommend. Wish I had her for both 121 and 122.
Shes awesome, helps you when you need it and is very understanding
Andrea was great! By far the best lab instructor I've had for any class period.
Prof. Strock goes above and beyond the typical teacher at GCU for physics. In contrast to other classes where DQ questions and feedback are largely ignored, her lectures are catered around what the students are struggling on in addition to the content she'll be testing you on. Don't expect big tests to be identical to practice questions though.
If you can get Strock for any physics lecture or lab, do it. She is an amazing, wonderful, caring professor who will work with you to make sure you understand the concepts she is teaching. She also does a great job of answering questions in class and going through all the important concepts and equations you need to know for homework/quizzes.
I had Strock's 7AM physics lab and it was maybe my favorite class of the semester. Once you form groups, she allows you to do a 'group submission' for each lab. If you have questions about the procedures, the setup, or the data and calculations, she will sit down with you and explain it until you get it. Overall, a solid choice for physics lab!
I would absolutely recommend Andrea Strock for any class whether its physics lecture. She is kind, considerate, and helpful. Her labs are always filled with fun, laughter and Disney music. She makes the material easy to understand and she makes herself accessible if there is anything you need help with. 10/10 would recommend.
Easy class. Make sure you participate in the discussion questions and respond to at. least 4 a week in order to get full credit for participation.
She's funny and nice, makes lectures go by fast. Her projects are a little confusing and not important, more like busy work. They're not hard but definitely check the rubric and they're time consuming. She is very accessible outside of class and helps you a lot.
Strock is AMAZING! Best professor I have ever had. I highly recommend her. She is energetic and lively in class and is always willing to help even if it is for lab or PHY112.
Strock is so amazing! She truly does care and wants you to succeed. If you get the chance to take her, do it!! Very easy to get ahold of. If you take the time to ask for help you will succeed in the course. If I could take her again I would. BEST PROFESSOR ON CAMPUS!!
If you have her or any other professor at GCU for SCI-150 I give you my best. She is very smart, but the course curriculum is terribly structured. She helps as much as she can and is lenient, but again, the course is just a mess. Everyone loves her, though.
She's an amazing professor. Her lectures are always engaging and funny. She's always herself and going to her office hours is the best. She's a physics major, therefore teaching Critical Science isn't her best subject, but she tries her best and covers everything you need to know on the quiz. She'll do her best to make this class an easy A for you.
I love this professor so much!!!!! Her lectures were engaging and she made the subjects easy to understand. She is always available to help you and makes class enjoyable.
She was amazing! Go to her office hours they are supper helpful and ask her questions on homework, CATS, and quizzes she will help you until you get the right answer. You can get 100% on all of these things if you just talk to her.
Not great. Take this class somewhere else.
I had her for university success which is a general class you need to take as a student at GCU. I t was very easy and she made the directions very clear of what was needed. You do have a handful of assignments but they are easy ones. Don't stress about this class.
Great person, so nice and really cares about her students. WOULD 100% RECOMMEND
This was an easy pass class, especially with Professor Strock. As long as you put in effort and participate when asked, it was an easy A. She was always accessible through Remind texting, and in office hours, and her assignments and tests were clear and easy to perform.
Take Professor Strock. If you're intimidated by physics, she'll make it very simple for you. Would definitely take her again next semester.
very nice professors, made class fun to go to. easy grading and clear expectations
A great professor who provided good material to aid me and my classmates in our future classes. She was fair with her grading and was very helpful if a problem came up. In our personal lives, and any of us students had to miss class or an assignment she was understanding and gave us instructions.
Professor Strock continually goes out of her way to help students. If I ever had any questions, I would reach out of remind 101 and she would help me as soon as she could. She truly cares about your success as a student and makes physics easier to learn.
Professor Strock is a very kind person who really cares about her students and makes sure that the lectures are both exciting and engaging. Most assignments are explained very clearly and even if there is any confusion, she makes sure to clear it up. There is a lot of reading for the class, so do be ready for that. Overall, phenomenal professor.
Prof. Strock honestly was not hard but I slacked off SOOO much so I fell off a little bit. All of her RATs and CAPPs are literally comprehension questions so if you did not read, you will NOT get the questions. Her class was def one to look forward to, especially early in the morning!
Strock is an amazing professor and is so kind and funny. The twice-weekly quizzes are tough and your grade is almost completely reliant on them. They make the final extremely easy though. Overall, LOVE her!
I took Klaus for PHY111 and struggled. Coming into PHY112 I knew I wouldn't pass in his course with his teaching style. Strock was the perfect fix. Her in class teaching style helped me learn the material. I'm not very good with this subject but I can say that without Strock I would not pass Physics 2.
I hate math so this class was pretty challenging for me but the professor made it a little helpful to grasp the topics.
She is amazing! Cares so much about her students, and knows so much about Physics! Always willing to talk to her students and help them out. She made the lab engaging and it was easy!
Great professor overall. The structure of this class is very intense with the final exam being 29% of our final grade but professor Strock did a good job of preparing us and making physics fun. I never took physics in high school, so she was a great professor to have during my first time ever learning the material. I definitely recommend her!
She is a very great professor! Very funny and knows ALL of her students. She has a lot of office hours and will go over anything that you do not understand.
Best professor I've ever had.
Physics is a very dense & challenging course but Professor Strock makes it very bearable & grades fairly. This class also has dense labs & challenging midterm & finals. However, you have plenty of resources to help you learn & understand the content. Professor Strock will also give you extensions if you need it. Be sure to understand equations! :)
very nice and friendly to work with and understanding and helpful if you need help
Literally the best professor ever! She is so helpful and will make physics easy and fun. Shes always available and helps all of her students whenever they are confused.
Overall Professor Strock was a great professor. She was east accessible outside of class and during her office hours. She made the lectures entertaining and easy to understand. However, there are a few group projects throughout.
Shes such a wonderful professor. I had her filling in one of my classes for a month, and shes the reason I stopped skipping it every day. She is super funny and always cracking jokes, but also really wants to get to know you. She goes the extra mile and is always willing to help in office hours. She makes the worst classes fun. Wish I had her more
Professor Strock was wonderful, she was so kind and funny. She wants you to succeed and was very accessible outside of class. She is very clear about expectations and gives meaningful feedback on assignments.
Professor Strock took over for 3-4 weeks when my previous SCI-150 professor got severely ill. She was a great substitute and I will choose to take her if I am presented with the opportunity in the future.
Shes really nice but honestly does not know how to answer questions outside of the material she is given. Also, only has one way to explain things, so you either understand that one way or youll be screwed because she wont teach it differently. Not many choices for physics professors at GCU though so good luck
I highly recommend professor Strock. She is very nice and also a very good professor. Be aware that physics is not an easy class, therefore, you need to study outside of class and not just blame the professor for a bad grade. For physics you definitely need to go to lectures since is the best opportunity to ask questions.
Professor Strock is so kind and wants everyone to succeed! This class is slightly difficult with all the RATs and CAPPs, but she prepares you for them well. The material for this class sometimes seems random, but her class was my favorite to go to because it was so fun and engaging. I am definitely going to take her again in the future!
Professor Strock is an amazing professor. She makes this somewhat boring class fun because of her great sense of humor. She explains any questions you might have, and she also helps you build a great community within the class. I believe that I have to take physics in the future, and I know I will take it with her!
We would take small quizzes based on reading comp. every class period & had to complete & present quite a few projects, group & individual. Prof. Strock is a lovely person & radiated good energy to the class. The course itself was not enjoyable and was more of an English/reading comp class than science-based.
great professor. One of my all time favorites. She's super caring and knew everyones name before the first day of class. She also is super willing to help in and out of class.
Prof. Struck is too smart. She's really fun in class, and will help you in the best way possible. She intriguingly will remember your name on the first day of class. The class is set up in a flipped classroom format which is my only complaint, and is super exam heavy with a cumulative 300 point exam at the end of the semester. Choose her! :)
If your learning style includes both visual and auditory, Strock is for you. Professor Strock is such a caring and sweet person. She made physics so much more enjoyable and easy to understand. I also had her for lab. Despite her specificity on the format of the lab reports, she is willing to help you to the best that she can.
Strock is seriously the best professor at GCU. She cares about students success, which is hard to find. She teaches concepts so well and caters to all learners. She is accessible outside of class and encourages people to text her! Seriously take her class. If you're reading this, her class is probably full so get on the waitlist haha!
Great class, makes it fun and interesting. Plays games to see which group doesn't have to do the quiz for the week.
She is a very good Professor and understandable. This class in general was easy and some parts were some what hard. She is very accessible with her students and has her office hours open for her students.
Professor Strock is amazing! She is kind and makes her class fun. Graded by CAPP, pre-week assessments, and a few other assignments.
She had the task of redesigning the entire engineering physics 2- and has done well so far. I think the way the class is set up allows students to chaet somewhat easily which suggests the system works (and she has fixed some of that). However, many students cannot function with learning outside of class and testing inside of class.
Strock genuinely is a nice person trying to make the best out of a bad program. She is actively trying to rewrite labs and sections that she is not even teaching- although the setup of the class is not great (a quiz every day). However, I learned a lot even though my test grades don't prove that.
She's the best physics prof GCU has. Always willing to help you in class and in her office hours. ASK QUESTIONS, it's the best way to actually learn in this class. Has the best analogies to help you understand the concepts, especially dealing with the abstract ones in Physics 2. Super nice and funny; tries to make class enjoyable. Take her!
infinity/5 Had her for lab and lecture and I would take her for both again. I struggle a lot with physics and she was so awesome I definitely recommend studying a lot more than I did. She is so sweet bought class donuts for our final.
She is one of the best professors at GCU. I took her for both of my physics classes and between her and Klaus, she is better. Physics is a hard class because of the course, not because of her. But if you stay on track, you'll pass the class. There is a lot of material and homework, but physics is all about practicing CONSTANTLY.
Professor Strock is AMAZING. One of my favorite professors. She addresses any and every question and explains the content well. The only downside, I would say is that a lot of people take advantage of her office hours, so it can be very crowded, (but don't be discouraged. go.) Participation matters a lot because you take a "quiz" every class period
Professor Strock was one of the best professors I've ever had. She is super approachable and answers questions asked in class. She goes over homework and how to do problems so that you'll succeed. I'd highly recommend taking her class if possible.
Strock is probably one of the best professors I've had here at GCU. She's super approachable and wants all of her students to succeed. She goes over questions during class, provides Kahoots most times before our Tuesday quiz. Can't recommend her enough for physics
She is one of the best professors that I have had! I am taking this class as a summer course so it is very condensed but manageable. It was a flipped style classroom but she made sure to answer everyone's questions when they had them and clarified. There were quizzes every class which were difficult but fair.
Best teacher ever, always happy to explain questions you might have both in class and office hours. She is also a very good teacher and will basically give you a step by step explanation on how to solve every test question she gives you. Overall incredible
This was a challenging class overall but Strock tries to emphasize what is important in lecture. She also helps out a lot more in terms of preparing you for the weekly quizzes which goes a long way for those not inclined in this physics.
Professor Strock is an absolutely amazing teacher. PHY-112 was a hard class so I definitely recommend going to her office hours or the IA's hours. She truly cares about her students. She will always respond to messages and try to help you-- even around your schedule. I cannot say enough how much of a wonderful teacher she is! Take her if you can!
Lectures were highly engaging and responsive to students. Course layout was confusing at first but stayed consistent throughout. Strock is funny and helpful in office hours as well. Highly recommend to take her, she made physics not too hard.
Would take again.
Professor Strock truly loves Physics and teaching. She explains tough concepts clearly and stays patient when we struggle, always finding creative ways to help. Even with busy office hours, she gives each student attention. The class is challenging, but I've enjoyed learning from her. She's easily the best PHY instructor, and I highly recommend her
Strock is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had. She makes physics so interesting and fun. If you have to take Phy-111, TAKE HER. You have to be there for every single lecture though, like if you miss on day your grade will take a hit. But Strock 100% makes it worth going! Also use the practice questions and videos for exams, trust.
I loved Strock in both PHY111 and PHY112. She basically gives you the answers through Kahoots and class problems for the RATS and EATS, which was very helpful. Shes a great explainer and is very easy to talk to.
