This was a 12 week long class, she did not give us back any of our papers until the 9th week so we really did not know what type of grade we had. Instructions are confusing, no one in the class ever seems to know what is due on what date. I do not recommend this class.

Teacher is very cool and has new unique ideas.She seems a bit scattered brained on returning papers and have the time you don't know when to turn things in.Over all she is very cool and different.
Instructor very nice about allowing students to revise work and offers bonus exercises which helped me a lot.Her style is different,could be fun at times and works well for working students. She really cares about student success

Wonderful teacher extremely knowledgeable,very patience beyond years,good by clarity in discussing assignments but very, very helpful. She will work with you all the way. She is a GREAT TEACHER, I has learned a lot in her class then any English teacher so far...Take her if you want to pass!!!
She is a very good teacher, willing to help. Forgets to turn back papers, but you won't need them because she allows you to revise them 1000 times before you turn them in. Easy A, attend class and that is it. Very easy A. I loved her, you don't see teachers like her very often @ FCCJ.
Simmons is nice but very vague about assignments, HW and due dates. Syllabus isn't handed out the first day & don't expect to follow it afterwards. Group essay required. She doesn't warn you that you will need to meet with your group outside of class. She's good about helping you if you have slacker group members. Get familiar with MLA format!
She is a horrible teacher who should not be allowed to teach. Very unclear as to what she expects of her students. She makes us read the "assigned readings" out loud like we are in first grade. She does not follow her itinerary and no one has a clue what she wants. Expect frustration from this one, she is completely unorganized.
Excellent teacher who goes above and beyond to make sure you understand. She does not pass back papers very often, however, she does give extra credit so take it! Readings are done out loud, but that helps since there are a few that never read the assignments or come prepared.
As some of the other people said, she is kinda of scatter brained at times. Other than that, I loved her class. Was my first real class in college, since 99, and when I was confused as to what I was supposed to do, she took the time to explain. Always 10 min late to class. She does not have a direction with the class. She is very sporadic (SAT word). If you go to school wanting learn, and not just pass a class, she's not the teacher for you. Very nice person, but seems like teaching is not her main priority.

She is smart, tries to stir things up a little and get open discussions. Sometimes she does make assignments a little unclear but just ask her if you are uncertain; she is forgiving.
If you want academic freedom to write what you want take this class! She lets you express yourself and makes English fun again. My research paper was on Chocolate and she loved it. You use the book a lot as assigned reading and discuss in class. I really loved this class and I highly recommend her to anyone :]
She is not a good teacher.. very unorganized, She has no way of tracking your grades, NEVER responds to e-mails, VERY boring class, half the time she doesnt know what they heck shes talking about.Makes you do stupid busy work, and a lame presentation that no one ever does good on. She is a horrible teacher. SHe has the class teach the book and she offers hardly any help and misses alot of class without notifying the class
Ok this teacher is unorganized and does miss class a lot but I would say she was fair with my class and we didn't have to take our last test. Make sure you read the book her quizzes online are easy as long as your READ. DO YOUR COMPANIONS. Basically she wants open discussion in the classroom so she can see that you understand what you are reading.
This class is wonderful. If you still think you are in highschool then this is not the class for you. She is not going to hold your hand. She gives you an easy assignment and you can actually be creative. I got an A and I didnt even try. I have been out of school for 15 years. I will be taking her again for my other humanities requirement.
Easy A. If you dont like humanities then this is the class for you. She gives easy assignments and alot of time to get them done. She is friendly and funny. I am so glad I took her. She doesnt talk about the useless propaganda of evolution. I cant stand that nonsense. Easy A without trying. Take her class you wont regret it.
Easy class for people that don't need a babysitter. The complainers are the ones that still think they are in highschool. They cant think for themselves so of course it has to be the professors fault. This class is an easy A. She stays after class and talks with students and if you dont understand she will explain it again.

Overall, I would say she is a fairly mediocre teacher. This class was not her priority, and the time and effort that she was willing to commit was minimal. She was not entirely clear on her expectations or due dates and appears to grade everything on a curve. She did not provide much of a syllabus..All work was submited online.

I don't think she should be called a teacher. The class was a huge let done. She was a the worst "teacher" i've ever had. The whole class is basically self taught. We watched movies and did alot alot of group projects. I DO NOT RECOMEND
I liked this class. although i didn't always understand the assingnments and often had to call a friend to expain what was going on in the end i felt i had learned what i needed to from the class. real nice person. you'll watch alot of movies and do alot of group projects but there easy.

Easiest A ever! She goes over the basic rules. Grades are composed of a number of essays. Class activity is usually a short discussion, or movies. She does not reply to her emails, and is slight disorganized. It is an easy A as long as you follow her guide lines.
She doesn't answer eamils, makes you go on stupid trips and then write about them, gives way too many projects, doesn't post grades, and it is hard to understand her explanations of procedures, projects, etc. If you're absent the day of a presentation she won't let you make it up. I don't recommend this teacher at all and she shouldn't be teaching.
I never understood an assignment in this class. She was never clear on what to do. This was not an online class and all the assignments were online and she would not tell us when assignments were due! I do not recommed this teacher at all. VERY disorganized!
Professor Thaxton is a mediocre teacher. She isn't overly enthusiatic about teaching and you can certainly tell. Though I didn't particulary enjoy her class, it wasn't hard. An easy 'B' if you turn in all assignments.
Interesting course. Discussions and topics made me think. I read most of the assignments she gave, so I learned.
My class complained alot because most people didn't read. So, of course they didn't know what she was talking about. If you read and keep up with her the class is okay.
Our class had fun. We did quite a bit of reading on heroes and watched strange but interesting movies. I think she is nice. She wanted us to listen, work together (a lot of working together) and learn. I enjoyed this class. It was some work, but not too stressful.
Interesting discussions. I liked the discussions on the enlightenment and social reform. She tried to create discussions that would help us to see today's society. We listened to a very funny comedian who could have been talking about the past or the present. Fun class to take.
I think she sort of made up the class as she went along, which was a little confusing at times. However, she did tell us that she was given the class at the last minute. Overall, it was an interesting class, fairly easy, and she is a very nice teacher and seemed very willing to help. I would take her for other classes
The class was fairly easy, but I don't think she knew what she was doing. We hardly got anything done in the semester. She didn't really teach the coursework, just gave us projects with each chapter. She was a bad teacher, just a little scatter brained.
Ok if you listen to her she tells you that she has a high rate of passing and a high rate of failing NO INBETWEEN. If you pay attention and partisipate in the class discussions you will get an A. If you dont like to talk dont take her. And yes she is sexy as hell
She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She gives lots of opportunities to pass and tries to help. My mom was extemely sick this semester and she encouraged me to stay in the class and worked with me as much as she could.
This teacher does not hold your hand, she gives you plenty of time to complete assignments and easy A. She is disorganized and takes forver to grade. As long as you do the work, youll pass easy.

Professor Thaxton fosters debate in her class, but gives it direction.I've never seen her belittle 1 persons opinion.Choice of material to study was gr8.Some people may not pass because when she makes it so easy, there are less reasons to not do A work, on time.It must be affirmed that she is absolutely stunning. More involved in literature than history. She's nice. Be VERY careful w/ scheduling. Too many times I went in class to be given a handout & sent home. Other times we were let out after only 30-40 mins & at least twice we arrived to learn class was cancelled. If you're not careful w/ your scheduling, you will waste your time and gas!
Ms. Thaxton is AWESOME! if anyone diagrees then you obviouly suck! You really have to be an idiot to fail her class! and if you ask she will tell you your grade even if she is a little late with giving back assignments.
I'm not exactly sure how this 'professor' obtained a position as such. Possibly the most unorganized educater I've ever been taught by and couldn't care less about whether students learned anything or not. I literally sit waiting for the class to finish from the time I come till the time I leave.
You really don't need the textbook, except for a couple quizzes... literally a couple quizzes. She's a very pleasant professor, but no real learning experience in this class. There are "group activities" every so often that count as class participation grade. If you want an easy "A" with little work, take her.
This this lady has to be the most unorganized educater. Homework gets misplaced, I'm not exactly sure how this professor obtained a position as such. She seems as if she doesn't care about teaching. No passion at all. You will do random assignments. She often adjust the schedule. Would not recommend her at all. Loses your HW too.

This class is boring. She is not very organized. She will never return your homework. So keep copies of everything you do or you will get srewed. A major portion of your grade is taken from class participation and group assignments. Easy A if you attend class. Expect to wait for her late arrival each day.

Professor Thaxton is a wonderful person who cares about the success of her students. She will go out of her way to help you,all you have to do is ask. Her classes are centered around the textbook material and class discussions. Quizes are given through blackboard.Read the ch.'s given & get involved in the class discussions. You will love her class.
This class was awfully boring. It was hybrid so at least it was once a week. There was no structure, late grading, and she was not helpful for the one paper we had to do. She read from the powerpoint and talked the whole time. easy but so boring. Learned nothing.

Make sure to get your field experience in and do the discussion boards. Assignments were pretty easy once you got the right info of what was expected. I liked the prof, this was her 1st time w/ this course, so it wasn't as smooth as I would have liked. BB was messed up so much it over complicated things. Overall though, I enjoyed the course & prof.

There is not much homework or quizzes but when there is it's usually easy. Although you can only take the quizzes and tests once and there's a short time limit, but the class was EASY!
Super easy and laid back. As long as you go to class and participate you will pass. Quizzes and modules must be completed by deadlines. Her instructions are sometimes confusing until you ask her to clarify, and she is always willing to help as long as you ask!
This teacher was so unclear with how to teach that I barely knew what I was doing half the time, she screwed up the dates for one of the essays so by the time I could complete it it already passed. This woman is rude and snobby to anyone who doesn't get 100%. I highly suggest any other class except with this woman you will fail.

I took this class online and it was easy. You just read and do the modules. The quizzes are easy. Once she replied on time. And after that she took a few days to reply.
She is EXTREMELY unclear with directions - syllabus is wrong on all dates and page numbers for modules/quizzes. Didn't open links for first half of quizzes until day before they were due. Doesn't respond to emails quickly. I get all A's and work very hard but this class is WAY TOO MUCH WORK. AVOID online class unless looking for ENORMOUS workload.
Took her because her reviews said she was easy which is true. However, she is super unclear with instructions and doesn't reply to emails which kind of just has you guessing and assuming how everything is supposed to work. If you like to show up to class all the time and understand the topic then maybe she'll be the right teacher for you.
ths was a easyyyyyyyyy grade. However the syllabus was not organized properly, Called, text and email no reply... quizzes where not open when stated would be.. no structure, but again easyyyyyyyy class.. I got a b... and not tht much effort googled most of the info to do work......
I took this class after not taking an English course in 11 years. My learning curve was a big one. Professor Thaxton has a unique way of teaching that I began to love. Just use Grammarly and the Word settings she prescribes, the rest is pretty easy. Her description of assignments was clear as mud, but you get used to it. Plenty of extra credit.
Professor Thaxton was a great professor. She was fair and human. She wrote the syllabus straightforward and followed it to a T. I would recommend her and I would take another class with her. Follow directions, participate, put out some honest effort to learn and you will succeed.
This was a fast track course for only 8 weeks. This is an online class, because it was a fast track there was a lot of work to be done for one week. Be ready to read, there were no discussions just exams at the end of the week. Professor grades late so do not worry about it so much as long as you do the work.
It was a fairly easy class. There are quizzes at the end of each week and that's about it. However, the class was very unclear and unorganized. The syllabus was poorly written. The quizzes didn't always have clear directions and the reading material did not always help with the quizzes. One of the least organized classes I've ever taken.
This is a great professor, sometimes her lectures are a little scrambled, but she is a really fun teacher. Is willing to help you with anything. All but one exam is taken online in blackboard. The course I took was a Monday/Wednesday class and we almost always only had class on Monday and she gave us a little assignment to do at home on the wed.
The teacher is not very clear of what she wants in her work. No, seconds chances. Her work can be very misleading. I will not pick her again.

Easiest class I have ever taken. There are NO quizzes, or test. You do homework in class with your group. For final exam, you can go to one of four seminars she has offered or if you can't attend one of them, there is a paper you can write. Overall, the BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD and I have had plenty in the course of my AA program.

Her humanities class is pretty easy. Sometimes her assignments are unclear, and I needed to text a friend for a better understanding . Her test are very easy and she lets you look at the questions in class before you take it. The textbook is required, but we hardly ever used it..(I would save your $200). Overall, this class is an easy A.
This was a good class, but it was a bit disorganized. This was the professor's first 7 week course so she wasn't sure how to schedule everything. Other than that, it was a relatively easy class. There were some fun assignments and plenty of chances to get extra credit. There are good discussions within the class, and interesting topics. Easy class!
I took Ms. Thaxton's course online and enjoyed the class. My only complaint is the syllabus could have been created better. Even with that, you knew what she wanted to be done and when she wanted it. She made sure you were beyond prepared for the exam and provided extra credit.

One of my favorite professors for Humanities. Her class is very easy as long as you show up to class you get a 100%.
Go to classyou miss one or two and youll miss out on an easy A. The classes were basically discussions and the topics made everyone talk. Im typically a quiet person and I spoke out at times. She makes it worth your time! Teaching style is comfortable. Syllabus was easy to understand.

The first 5 weeks she only posted 2 assignments, the last 2 weeks she posted the rest of the course assignments. Did not respond to any of my emails either.
The assignments are quizzes and watching 3 movies. Two are on Netflix and the other one I watched online. I rarely used the book. If you want the book I recommend you purchase via pdf. She grades the quizzes on the last day and she does give weekly extra credit assignments. There are no discussions in this class.

I took a humanities class w. this amazing teacher over the summer. At first she was a little confusing w. her criteria. I like her take on the class we learned the objectives in a real world perspective. 3 projects. You chose when you would like to present. She gives instant feedback after your first project. Present 2 upload all 3. Easy A+

She would post directions in discussions half way through the week so if you have obligations avoid this class. AVOID THIS CLASS.
While I did receive an A in this class, I was not a fan of the class or teacher. She does not respond to you if you have any questions, If you don't understand an assignment then, you better figure it out on your own. Everything is based on one character from a poem. I was so over writing about this character by the end. Wouldn't recommend!!!!

Professor Thaxtons class was amazing. She makes the class very interesting. You will have several papers to write, but as long as you follow the format you will be ok. I heard great things about her class and it fills up quickly. Take this class and you wont regret it.

easiest 7 week course. take her. We discussed architects. if you login to the conferences you will earn points for your grade. 800 points give you an A. I had over 1,000. finished in 6 weeks.
The class was very easy. She knows students have to take this class for an elective, and she makes it easy for you. The quizzes have no time limit until the due date, and she tells you what's on the quiz during the conferences. There are no tests, and she gives little homework.
This is a very unique class, mostly a lot of reading, but an interesting book. No homework, only quizzes. There's a quiz every 2 weeks or so and discussions are used as study guides. Plenty of extra credit available within the quizzes. Do your reading and you will be fine!
Everything on quizzes is all mixed up. There is absolutely no participation by professor with students in the online class. There is no response at all to emails. I don't prefer a class where there is no professor available and I feel that is a complete disservice to students. I had to get this credit - only prof. available. I would not recommend.
She is so completely enjoyable to be in class with. I took her online with set lectures throughout the week and I just love her. She has a great personality and genuinely cares about you. If you don't understand something, she makes sure you don't feel uncomfortable. Interesting course material about that I wasn't expecting at all!

Professor Thaxton was absolutely amazing! She answered my emails within a couple hours at most, her assignments were very entertaining and different compared to other classes. Her grading scale was very fair and she gave a lot of extra credit. It's impossible to fail her class.
I have yet to receive a response from this professor. It is as if she designed the online class, plopped it on Canvas, then went on her merry little way. There was little interaction wither her. Even in the discussion forums she was absent. The text was great and I learned a lot, but she was not necessary from my experience.
Super easy 7 week in person class. No papers! Show up, listen/ pay attention, and you'll pass. There is 900 pts total for graded work; only need 800 to get an A. She gives lots of easy extra credit too. If you want to learn something though, I'd take a different prof.. Definitely take this prof and class if you just need the class for the credit.
Dr. Thaxton made Humanities fun! She used modern-day metaphors and analogies to help us learn about the architects and their methods. I loved this class! It was a hybrid class but she gave us the option of logging online to Canvas to attend the sessions. She also had pre-recorded lectures for each class which helped a lot with the quizzes.
You are given a long time to get the simplest assignments done. I was able to complete many easy assignments that we were given 2 weeks to do in 1-2 hours the night it was due. Attendance is not mandatory if you take it online. She records the lectures so you can watch them later on your own time. She does not use the full class period to lecture!
Very easy A. Make sure you watch the provided video, that's exactly the answers on the quizzes. Easy assignments.
The class was informative but super easy; she went over the quiz in class and discussed the answers. Her class was only about 30 minutes long and you only had to go one day, the other day was assigned "Quiz Day". SHe was nice and once you hit 800 points in the class then you are done.
Nice teacher, watch her recordings before taking the quiz and you'll have the answers. Once you reached 800 pots. you're done with the class, 800 points is an A in her class. Easy assignments.
Prof. Thaxton class was super fun. She is straight forward. Very easy class to take. She gives multiply amount of opportunities to get extra credit. I would take her all the time if I could. Just show up and flollow her simple instructions and you will pass even before the semester is over.
She does give extra credit but she does not answer your emails if you have any questions. Her instructions on assignments are very confusing and unclear and then you cant email her because she wont answer.
Professor Thaxton's HUM2020 class is a breeze. With easy assignments, extra credit opportunities, and pre-recorded lectures, it's a great class to take. unstuckstudy is a helpful tool for acing the quizzes. Overall, a rewarding experience.
Professor Thaxton is who every student should want in a teacher. Do the assignments, turn them in on time, and show up to class. If you can't show up, access the easy to find PowerPoints online. 10/10
