He's very laid back, and Easy!!!!! He does teaches, just not probably not to teaches too much out of what Math70 teaches.... He's doesnt really take attentance, his quizes are easy and testes.... If your uncertain about something... You just ask, and he will explain it
omfg, hes like a high school teacher. tha class is nothing. all i did was 5 hw total, each hw has like 1 week to do. and 2 midterm, the mid term was ez like hell, havent take final yet. hopefull its ez too. if you are lazy, take his class
He's really laid back. totally doesn't realize anything...really cool...i too walked out of his class laughing...
he is a great teacher.. i 've acutally learned a lot from him... i am pretty sure if u take this class u will pass it!
Andrew was pretty cool. The class gets tedious at times since he assigns a chapter and homework per day, but as long as you understand its pretty easy. Also makes himself very available for extra help which is great.
this is a really fast paced class, but if you stay on top of it there is no way to fail. my understanding of algebraic equations and trig was totally expanded on...i really recommend this class if you are taking calculus. andrew is a cool teacher who is always willing to help and makes you feel really comfortable askign questions. highly rec.
The class is very fast paced. We got through the whole Math book with about two weeks left of school. His lectures are easy to understand and if you don't get it, he will make himself available for you. His exams were super easy, basicalll questions from HW, and his Final was also very easy. I got there 15 minutes late and was the 3rd person done.
He is an extremely east teacher. The material is not hard to learn or understand because he teaches you ways to do so. He offers as much help as possible and you get to use notes on the final.
This class is really easy and somewhat fast pace, but it does get boring. He seems like a cool teacher. He usually lets you out early so that's good. He gives test after every chapter and it is just modifty questions of the HW. I always find myself the only one sleeping in class and i still pass.
i am so not a math person but he made presented the material with lots of clarity. he was very knowledgable and always was there to help if you needed it.
If he isn't the best math teacher you could ever have i dont know who would. that is all i have to say.
AWESOME teacher!!! Made the class fairly easy. Goes over material really well and is always willing to help. Highly recommend for pre-calculus. Always gives homework due the next class but it's reasonable. Always goes over questions that you might have. Tests are fairly easy as long as you understand the material. Practice tests are harder.
extremely helpful and would break down problems for you.
he doesnt give much homework. good teacher. easy highschool math. He gives like 3 problems and osmetimes like 7 and he gives out quizzes that go towards your homework grade and quizzes are like 5 problems and for tests he gives like 10 which are easy. good teacher overall. He teaches well
Omg. Greatest teacher ever. Totally helpful, nice. He would jump into our little side conversations. He was super funny & just overall amazing. If I could have him teaching ever math class I take, I totally would. I would recommend this teacher to anyone and everyone.
Great math instructor! He was very clear and consistent. Too bad he doesn't teach Calculus.
Its AndREW to whoever misspelled his name. Beyer is a great teacher. He explains the work in detail and clearly. He'll go over homework problems at the end of time if you have questions or you could leave early. Class always went by fast.
AMAZING teacher. I HATE math but andy made me actually enjoy going to class. super legitimate teacher he should teach every math course at sfsu
I love this class. No, not statistics, Andrew Beyer's class. He is very straightforward, lectures straight from the book, but is very knowledgeable as well. If you don't understand, he will re-teach it. Also, super available during office hours if you need some one-on-one time. And yes, he's HOT!
I took Beyer for Monday night stats and I got a B. First off, he's really attractive. He should be modeling. But more importantly, he just reads from these power points provided by the book and doesn't really teach. I feel like I taught myself more than he did. His class is really really boring. I wouldn't recommend him.
i had him for monday night's stats class. horrible! he knew what he was talking about but didn't really know how to teach it to us. he just read off the powerpoint and it was like he hadn't gone over anything the night before. he just winged it in every class. get an easy teacher for stats cuz it's a hard class!!
Took the once a week night class, quiz every class, 2 exams w/ cheat sheets, online assignments which you have all semester to complete, easy class. He basically reads off the slides each lecture...
Beyer's class is pretty simple and do-able. He is very generous as far as the online homework goes, all you have to do is the midterm, final, quizzes online and homework online. He let us have a page of notes for the final and the midterm! He is thorough which can be annoying but he really wants you to do well.
for people who aren't too great at math, Beyer is the perfect teacher. however I'm good at math, so this class seemed really slow, boring, and monotonous. the pace is slow, the homework is too easy, and you're allowed multiple pages of notes on the midterm and final. he takes forever explaining easy algebra, so if you need extra help, take him.
To be honest, this class wasnt too bad. I managed to pull off a B but thats because i didnt bother studying the last two chapters of the book so its my fault. But if you do all your homeowork and study, you'll be in great shape! He's not that hard tto get an A actually since the tests are based off of the homework.
He is a very nice and down to earth teacher. All the work is pretty easy.homework and quizzes are done online and are graded. So it is easy to get a perfect score on those . Attendance is not mandatory. He is very helpful and good at getting back to you if you e-mail him. i got a B in the class.
This professor is legit, if you ever have any trouble, just stop by his office hours. Trust, it helps a lot.
He's pretty cool. I'm not good in math but I managed to pull a C. I would recommend him because he's a good and cool teacher. No notes on any tests
I got an A- in his class and trust me, he was one of the most helpful teachers I've ever had. We get assigned weekly homework and quizzes which aren't too difficult, but if you need help, his office hours are very useful. We had two midterms and one final, none of which were too hard. I highly recommend this teacher to anyone.
By far the best pre-calc teacher at SFSU. He goes at an appropriate pace and explains EVERYTHING in detail. Homeworks are easy and tests are not so bad, just do your homework and go to his office hours if you need extra help. Lectures are extremely organized and everything is explained thoroughly. Plus, he's super handsome. Take his class.
He should teach calculus only; he's so good!
Midterms, final and some quizzes are multiple choice, HW is online and he is very helpful, especially when you stay after class and ask him questions. He speaks pretty clearly and doesn't speed through the topics like some other professors. He will help you if you need it.
He was so good at teaching I never needed any extra help from out side sources and never attended office hours. Take his class!!!
I had him for Statistics and it was such a breeze! Everything he taught was super easy. His statistics class has a very high pass-rate, and the exams are short and easy too! You don't even have to show up all the time. Plus, he's very good looking and has a nice voice.
Homework is online need to buy the software ($70), really reliant on lectures or if you can read the book on your own, lectures go by really fast, tests are easy and open note
he is a good teacher as long as you attend lectures regularly and are on time. is always willing to help and would take him again. would recommend to people who arent lazy
I took his Pre-Calculus class and i have to say this man definitely knows what he is teaching. His exams are simple and straightforward if you study the homework problems he gives you. I got a B but could've gotten an A if i had studied harder for the final =).
By far the best math teacher I have EVER had. He does use power point presentations, but will mostly lecture as the class progresses so you should attend. Quizzes about every two weeks (9 total, 2 dropped), midterm, final, and online homework. It helps that he enunciates and has a loud voice, which is rare in an SFSU professor. Also, verrrrry sexy.
Amazing math lecturer!!!!! I wish I had him for Calculus II!
This is the Best teacher I've ever had in life! Normally math teachers are clueless when they lecture and they don't know how to teach the things they are paid to teach. If you are looking for someone who teaches well and teaches you well enough to get a good grade Take Him! I got an A grade because he was helpful & lastly hes an AWESOME PROFESSOR!
Take this class! Best business calc class. You get small hw assignments that you have 7 chances on. In class quiz problems are in the hw and its about 12 problems long but easy. I got an A+ in the class. He drops your lowest quiz and hw scores.
As a guy. I must say I love him. He is by far the greatest math professor at state to teach. Final for this semester was an option if you did well on your past tests (which was 2 for us) hw every now then. Easy, knowledgeable of the work. Wish I taken him earlier to get my math segment done. TAKE HIM! you will not regret it.
Beyer is a great instructor and makes math as easy as can be. You can tell he's passionate about teaching, but his delivery can be a bit dry at times. Easy to get an A if you do all the assignments which prep you sufficiently for the quizzes. He is young and very attractive if that sort of thing matters to you.
He's very good at what he does, which is teaching math. His lectures are very helpful and informative. His exams are very straightforward and he allows one page of note, front and back. From my pov, I can say that an average student can understand everything just from his lectures and nothing else.
If all tecahers were like him I'm pretty sure the drop out rate would diminish. He knows how to teach extremely well and with a subject that I personally hate (math). He is very clear and informative and perhaps the greatest math teacher ever.
He's a good teacher. i took him for calculus, and business calculus, and i have to say he's really clear. if you took in calculus in high school his class is even easier. i could've skipped like every class and still gotten an A.
GREAT teacher. I'm a pretty bad math student, but his teaching is designed for you to pass the class with a B. Not a lot of homework, and 4 tests. I would recommend him.
Had him for Calc I, which I haven't touched for almost 10 years. He is an excellent prof. Clear, funny. The beginning he moves really fast, but he tells you what you don't need to know and slows down a lot near the middle/end. It's an easy class to get an A in if you pay attention, study, and aren't stupid. And he's foxy. Every girls crushed on him
GREAT PROFESSOR! I absolutely hate math, but he made it easy and clear. He takes the time to make sure you understand. He is very straight forward as to what will be on his exams. You could skip the class and just practice from the reviews, but going to class is very helpful. Best math professor! I suck at math, but I did well in his class!
Beyer is REALLY chill and very easy going with work. Barely any homework, and the in class lessons were thorough and easy to understand. Coming from someone who is horrible at math, this class was so easy and clear. Very good teacher overall
hE'S AWESOME BASICALLY
Super weird guy, but a pretty excellent statistics teacher. Math is not my strong point and he made it pass-able for me. I took stats with Fredericks before and had to drop it; I would definitely recommend Beyer over any other math teacher I've had at State. Go to class (there are pop quizzes) and do your online homework.
Really cool guy, gets right to the point. I'm not a huge fan of math but he made it easy to get through. Show up, listen to lecture, do three problems at the end of class, four tests (non-culmutive). Easy stuff!
3 exams 1 final. lowest grade dropped. all multiple choice. he posts online a sample exam beforehand -super easy. the way he teaches is crystal clear and accepts any questions. he was absent a few times but posts online PDF's that are easy to follow for that day's lesson. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. semester isnt over but i know i'll pass with an A
Take him!! Easiest math course you will ever take. Super nice guy. Plus added bonus that he is very attractive. Just go to class and do the homework and you will pass!
Andrew is exceptionally clear during his lectures. I'm not very strong in math but his effort to break down the material is phenomenal and his willingness to help you on an individual level is also comforting. I was able to enjoy stats much more than I expected because of his teaching. Also just an overall friendly guy, take his class!
If I could take Beyer for every math class, I would do it in a heartbeat. Incredible mathematician and equally cool guy in general. To give you a sense of what I mean, he wears Nikes and Thrasher sweatersflannels to class instead of dress pants and church shoes. If you need help, he will help you!
I took Beyer for Calc 1 & 2 for the fall and following spring semester. It was a no brainer to take him again just because he's such a great professor. I despise math, I hate numbers. Calculus is hard, and Beyer makes it easy, or at least understandable. Absolutely recommend! Won't regret it. I got an A in Calc 1 and a B in Calc 2 (harder).
Andy is, by far and away, the best math teacher I've ever had. I struggled with math my whole life but I came out of his Calc I class feeling like I had really learned the material. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and explains new concepts clearly. I can't say enough good things about him!
Andy is one of the nicest and most helpful math teachers I've ever had. I've never been very good at math, but he taught the subject in a way that made me very successful in his class. He's also super funny, which is a huge plus! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Lectures make sense, even if you don't necessarily understand the lectures.. the midterm and final exam are very similar to the practice exams he provides. There are homework assignments with no due date(as long as they are due before last day of class) and unlimited amount of attempts. Put in a little effort, you'll get an A no problem. RECOMMEND!
His lectures can be boring but then again I'm not really a fan of math to begin with. He is extremely nice and is always there for help. Overall a bit boring but the class is super easy. I hardly did any of the homework, there were like 3 exams but I still got an A in the class.
Andy was the most amazing math teacher I've ever had. Good math teachers are hard to come by but Andy's teaching methods made it incredibly easy to learn new material. I enjoyed going to that class every week even though attendance is not mandatory. There are 3 exams for the whole semester but he hands out practice packets to use which helped a lot
Wonderful teacher. I have always sucked at math and I passed this class with an A. He did grade attendance but I wouldn't have missed a day even if he didn't. His instruction was exceptional and if I had any confusion he cleared it up. I never felt the need to go to office hours or cram b4 a test. Never left class confused which says a lot!
Do not take this class as a 3 hour block in the evening, you WILL fall asleep! He is so monotone and excruciatingly slow, but he does cover concepts thoroughly and clearly. Exams are easy enough as long as you practice the math and do the homeworks, and he curves exams.
He's honestly such a great math teacher. He goes into depth about the concepts and explains the subject in a simple way that everyone can understand. You never have quizzes. The class is basically a couple of online assignments that are 5 questions each and can be done whenever you want since they have no deadline. 3 midterms and 1 final. Easy.
Really disappointed that they're aren't more reviews for this brilliant professor. Beyer deconstructs the mathematical language to help further your understanding to real world applications. His quizzes are basic problems (remember rules) so the grade reflects accurately. Overall a handsome yet scintillating prof with really nice hair.
Really basic intro to statistics in MATH 124, if you have taken a stats class before this class should be no problem. The class has a clearly defined grading system, and schedule of important dates. He is very knowledgable and truly interested in the subject which makes the lectures go by quickly.
Beyer is THE best teacher I've had so far. Never been good at math but earning an A is his class. He makes the course very clear and never leaves any room for confusion. 4 exams plus the cumulative final. He splits the exam in two days so its not overwhelming. The final reflects the exams you take during the semester. Not lecture heavy. Easy class.
Took ISED 160 with Beyer in Fall 2016. As someone who had my fair share of struggles with math in high school, Beyer was a godsend. In addition to being a nice guy, he explained everything clearly. Basically, as long as you attend lectures regularly and ask questions when you need to, you should be fine. Would easily recommend Beyer to anyone.
Great teacher, wants his students to pass. Will help you out if you reach out.
Excellent professor, he doesn't have office hours but he will work with you if you have a question. The only thing I would say he lacks is accessibility outside of class and communication with his testing assistant(s). When I would go to the Friday classes, the assistant would bring out vocabulary that we hadn't gone over in class.
Very easy to follow lectures. Homework was exactly like the lectures, and tests were exactly like study guides. Very thorough with his lectures and explanations.
I suck TERRIBLY at math and was scared to take statistics, but he is a GREAT professor. step by step and makes sure everyone understand if not you can easily go up to him and ask him questions with a more detailed explanation. Homework every other week, 2 tests, 1 final that has 2 parts. Highly suggest taking him, he's never been in a bad mood
Andrew Beyer is daddy. His class was so easy I could take it in my sleep. He provides all the materials you need and doesn't make you pay $200 bucks for a stats textbook. (I took ISED, it might differ depending on course) TAKE HIS CLASS. YOU WONT REGRET IT.
AMAZING PROFESSOR. He's a daddy both in and out of the class (literally he has a child). Lectures are easy to understand and exams are just like the study guides. Textbook was not used, but was there for extra material/help. Homework was easy! Trust me, I took the 3 hr class on Monday afternoons. If I passed with an A, you can too.
His lectures can very easily go over your head if you've never taken a calc class before. He REALLY likes to use his fancy words and notations, so sometimes it can feel like you're lost. However, despite his lack of office hours, he is for the most part very willing to sit down and explain something again. Don't be afraid to ask questions with him!
Great teacher. Very organized lectures and very helpful layout. Made calculus so enjoyable I almost considered taking more lol
I took the Monday afternoon class from 4-6, even though he only lectured for about an hour. His exams are contents from study guide that he gives us before each exam, there's two midterms and one final which he lets you use one page of notes (back and front) on it. Highly recommend this professor if you're a pre-nursing major. An easy A in general.
Andrew was seriously such an amazing professor! He gave little homework that you get an A for just turning in and he lets you bring notes in for the final! His finals are exactly the same as the exams with different numbers. It's an easy A class and I don't even like math nor am I the best at it. He made a grading system which help everyone pass
He is the father I never had. No, but seriously he is an amazing math teacher. He cancels class a lot of the time but still manages to teach us everything without making us feel rushed. We only had about 5 homework assignments and he only grades off of completion. He really prepares you for the tests and his final are just like the tests. TAKE HIM!
Andy's a great professor! He makes the course much more simpler and beneficial for the students. You don't the need the textbook AT ALL. All you need is paper and pencil, maybe throw in a pen, for lectures. Lectures are very concise and thorough. Just show up, COMPLETE & TURN IN all your assignments, take the exams and you'll pass!
Andrew is an amazing, organized, and incredible professor ever! For the finals, he lets you use open notes and that really helps alot. In general, statistics is hard but you can talk to him outside of class. He was very useful and help me with the materials. I recommend taking him especially for those who are not good at math. You won't regret it!
Business Calculus may sound scary, but he really takes his time to go over the main concepts and steps from each chapter where it's easily understandable. He is organized and I like how he sets his grading scale. The final was sectioned off into two parts. He also gives you the opportunity to raise your midterm test grades through the final.
I have always hated & struggled with Math my entire life but this professor has to be the best Math teacher placed on Earth. Literally just show up and turn everything in. He wants everyone to do well and is willing to help if youre lost. His lectures are pretty accurate and theres no curveballs.
I am Mathematically challenged and was really nervous to take Business Calc, however Professor Beyer made learning math extremely simple and easy to understand on top of the fact that he only requires us to turn in his weekly assignments to pass the class. Just show that you're trying and you'll pass. Amazingly chill professor! Would take again!
