This is the best English professor anyone can have, he's very laid back and makes jokes. He gives easy assignment with a lot of time to do them. The final was a 7 page persuasive paper, not too bad.

He was an wonderful teacher. He made writing the final paper a breeze. You must go to class. You pay for it anyway, why wouldn't you go. Every class was interesting and helped lead up to the final paper. I learned more from him in 16 weeks, then in any English course I have ever taken :).

Pretty easy grader, really nice guy as long as you do your homework. Do not skip class or you will not pass, grades as much on classwork as he does homework

Be ready to go to class, or you won't pass. I left early once at the break and thought it wouldn't matter but it did! Everything is digitally submitted so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but taught a skill after the break that I needed to use and since I wasn't there, I didn't do it right. Holds class for the entire time- good- we $ for it

He looks like Johnny Depp, so he is deffinitally some eye candy for the ladies in the class! Don't be surprised if he has a new story for you each week, he always kept us up to date on the funny happenings in his life. If you attend class and do the work, you'll pass. It's all about comittment and dedication. Funny guy, cute and interesting!

Easily one of the best English Professors I have ever had. Some English teachers have you read boring material and write something boring about it. Professor Buyce not only has you read some really cool stories, but he also has you write some really interesting stuff as well. He is very helpful and inspired me to be an excellent writer.

Really funny, lively guy. You'll get an essay as homework every few weeks, but he prepares you for it a lot during class time by working you through creating an outline, doing research, etc. Reads and discusses essays aloud, makes them easy to understand. If you go to class, do the reading and the hw, you'll pass. - Put in the work and it shows.

He is a really good professor. Probably the best English professor you can ever have. You can get an easy A or B by just going to class. His homework may seem plenty but guess what? whatever the homework is, is what you are going to do next class. Finish your homework for next class an you get to leave class whenever you want. Essays now and then.

I highly recommend this professor for both englishes. He has a great sense of humor. If you show up and participate in class discussions then you will be fine. He will help you to gain the information you need to successfully write papers throughout the course. Reading the material and handing in your assignments are a must. Great english teacher!!

He is a very funny guy, but definitely talks too much. That's his biggest downfall. He's had us do maybe 5 papers overall, so not bad. His talking can get a little boring at times, but then he'll say a joke and you'll regain focus! Not a strict grader. If you're doing it for credit, he's and easy A.

Professor Buyce is great! As my class with him was online, I really didn't do much interacting with him, but he gave fair grades and always responded to my emails. I think my only suggestion would be for him to give a comment or two when you don't receive full points so you know what to improve upon. All in all, though, great English professor!

Usually really bad at english took english comp 2 with buyce during covid and he made it super easy to do schoolwork while at home.

He is really an awesome teacher and I had a great semester and learned a lot from him and id take his class again he's great!!

My writing improved so much this year. My confidence to write did as well. He always responded to my emails and took time to answer my questions.

As long as you attend lectures you will do fine. Professor Buyce is very passionate about teaching and goes over all expectations and instructions for assignments in class. As in any English course there are many written assignments but you have ample time and resources to do well on them. Professor Buyce is always available via email.

I have never been a great student when it comes to English. This class is one of the many English classes I have taken that I have enjoyed taking. The Professor will work with you if you need help and is very understanding. I would have this professor again if I could.

I've always enjoyed taking English throughout high school. This class is no exception. I struggled with the online format, but I believe Professor Buyce was very reasonable in the workload we had to do over the summer. I went to office hours a lot through the course for feedback and help on parts of the assignments I didn't understand. Always there for questions. Went above and beyond explaining everything I needed to know. Very clear and easy to understand. I wouldn't say he's an easy A, he makes you work for your grade, but he helps you give your best effort

Pretty nice guy. Assigns what I think is a reasonable amount of homework for an ENGL 101 class. I think if you struggled he would want to help you. If you show up and hand in assignments I think you'd get an A

Professor Buyce is an excellent Professor who's very knowledgeable and makes the class interesting. I improved a lot in my writing skills and overall found this class enjoyable. The workload was fair and reasonable, also he responds to emails and clarifies any questions.

While at first glance at the course there appeared to be a lot of work, Professor Buyce has the course set up in a way that is not overwhelming. Throughout the course, he teaches different parts of writing that aid in the writing of the Final Project. The topics taught were informative and understandable throughout the weeks.

Although there was a decent amount of work, he was always available to email for help and made it quite easy to understand. Yes there was a lot of reading and writing, but the topics we had to read and write about were pretty interesting, and we got lots of freedom in what we wrote.

Exceptional online sprint course. He was there to answer questions via email. Clear expectations. There were a lot of assignments but he chunked the work to make the final paper less overwhelming. Very fair grader. Complete assignments and ask questions if you need clarification and you will do great! The readings are relevant and interesting.

I only had him for English Comp 101 online sprint class, he was very attentive and accessible for help. He is a little bit of a tougher grader in some aspects, he gives you everything you need to succeed. I think because it was a sprint class was the only reason I felt a little overwhelmed with the amount of papers and reading and work I was doing

Gave good, clear feedback. Everything was very well organized and easy to find. Grading criteria was clear, and professor was easy to reach through email.

This was an online sprint course. I am terrible at writing and I found the work tough but what you would expect of an Eng 101 course.. Professor Buyce was a fair grader and expectations were clear. He was always accessible to answer questions by email. I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Buyce made his expectations very clear and did a good job of making the course very intuitive, I had no problem getting into the swing of things. A lot of the lectures revolved around genuinely interesting information. I kept finding myself very comfortable with the material after having completed each assignment. Definitely Recommended.

While there are a good amount of writing assignments, they all correspond to your research paper and help you better understand what you are writing about and how you are writing them. Professor Buyce is a great professor and person. His class was very fun and I learned a good amount. Make sure you take the early prep assignments for the final project serious and the final project will be a breeze. Get ready to write a 1-2 pg essay about every 2 weeks though and show up as attendance counts toward your grade.

Loved this class!! easy assignments, you start prep for the final paper almost immediately which makes the final paper easy to write. Very nice teacher & his lectures were always really good.

This course has a lot of work to do but if you do the work on time, all you'd have to do is to organize your notes for final project. He makes you do everything in steps which may seem a lot but it pays of in end. I learned a lot from this course, and I enjoyed it very much.

Professor Buyce is one of the most prestige professor that any university will have the honor of having him teach students ENGLISH 102 COMP or any ENG course he teaches. Respectful, enthusiastic, and very helpful. Professor Buyce has been amazing these past 6 Weeks Summer Course and he helped throughout the process and is greatly appreciated. .

His 6-week summer class was okay. There was ample time to complete the work. The class mainly involved reading, a few tests, and papers. I didn't learn much new about writing and expected more detail. Assignments weren't clear with expectations and guidelines all the time. Feedback was inconsistent leaving you wondering about your grade.

Took Professor Buyce's 6-week English 102 sprint in May 2024—easily one of the best classes I've taken. No textbook, no attendance policy, and everything was clearly laid out online. Fun lectures, fair grading, and zero stress. If there's a spot open, grab it. I'd take him again in a heartbeat!

Professor Buyce was an amazing teacher. He grades assignments with fairness and consistency, as long as you follow the criteria he gives you, you'll have no problem getting A's on all of your assignments. He is always approachable and willing to offer help whenever needed, showing care for his students. I would gladly take a course with him again.

Very informative and helpful. Responds promptly to emails and addresses issues quickly. Instructor had no problem offering assistance when needed. The assignments were well explained but the course workload was extensive but manageable.

There is a lot of readings. Due dates change for things. Some assignments or homework don't show up until you have done readings so be sure to start early so you have time to do discussions and assignments on time. Gives detailed feedback. Very respectful. Just study, it's hard work but you will improve with feedback and pass the class.

Awesome, so understanding and clearly cares about his students. I needed extra time on two assignments due to a heavy work schedule and he worked with me easily. Class is actually interesting and workload is a good amount, I feel like i actually took a lot from it.

This was a tough but fair class. The prompts were not always easy to figure out, but you really had to thoroughly read through all the material. Overall, it was a good class.

Class was easy to follow and engaging, and assignments were always explained clearly with due dates. He is respectful, organized, and I would highly recommend him. There was never confusion!

Teaches a fair course overall, his material is never too much to handle, easy to get in touch with if needed and responds in good time. The course is well paced, especially for such a short course, and you'll likely leave the course with a strong sense of writing fundamentals.

After the first essay, I decided to start writing my own essays, rather than using AI. Professor Buyce graded it, and it scored really low. I started using my own style. My next honest essay scored higher. He gave useful feedback, and I have become a much better writer. There were only 3 essays, and he guided me through the research project!
