HIS LECTURE IS CONFUSING, AND HE MUMBLES A LOT!

Take someone else if you want to actually learn. Do not challenge him even if your right, he prefers brown-nosers. Easy but I think he has devalued my degree by taking him.

Waste of time. This professor is terrible. Doesn't explain anything well. I learned everything from reading the book. It is a shame, this could have been a great class

Hard to understand. He prints out notes for you.

I wish there was a negative rating for clarity, Prof Do would be -100! He must have wrote the previous comment, because it is not true. If you do not have the proper tools and you have a prof like Do that creates mass confusion, it is impossible to learn. He make everything so difficult.

Very hard to understand, has a thick accent. Tests on what is in the textbook and not on lecture. Gave extra credit if show up to class on random days he takes role.

Taught this section for free and it shows. School got what it paid for in a pretty sorry class overall. You'll hate the book, you'll hate every minute in class, but he was flexible with grades so he's got that going for him. Otherwise this was just a pointless class. Didn't learn a thing.

Aside from his very thick accent he rarely says anything remotely useful class. Attending is a good idea because he takes attendance at the end of most classes. Very moody and his grading policy changes daily based on how he feels. Avoid if possible. If you have to take him get there early so you have a laptop charger, going to be a long class.

Don't understand how SDSU hired him as a professor. He is awful. During class nobody is paying attention because no one understands his poor English,even when you ask him a question he has a hard time answering because he still didn't master the English language. On top of that he gets upset when you ask him questions

You learn nothing, your grade suffers, and he does not help you at all, and I MEAN IT. Office hours....you'll be lucky to talk to him for 5 seconds before he chews you out. No joke the worst! WORST! HORRIBLE! Careless, stubborn professor with tenure. Warning!!! It is worth changing your major. He teaches every real estate class and he is your worst nightmare..no joke. Ask anyone who had him for any class. Do not take him at all costs. Not only is he a tough, careless grader but you don't learn anything.

WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!! He does not care about his students. His office hours are a joke, he will NOT help you. He is rude, stubborn, and can't teach. Don't expect to learn anything during lectures. I don't know how this guy still has a job, SDSU needs to get rid of him ASAP. He's ruining the real estate department!

Missed the drop date, and now I'm stuck with this guy. HARD CLASS! BAD FOR GPA! No joke. Not even helpful. If your looking for a class that HARD, useless, and won't learn even half of what your supposed to then take him.

VERY MOODY, TERRIBLE accent, should not be teaching real estate (SDSU: GET RID OF HIM). Tenure or no tenure, GET RID OF HIM!!! It is clear he has never worked outside of academia. Very smart, but terrible communicator, and no PRACTICAL or real world insight relating to RE. Tests are riddled with misspelled words and extremely ambiguous questions...

BEWARE!!...Hard exams, no clarity, failure to communicate, dreading class (mandatory attendance)... The typical person would be miserable in this class. Ask anyone who has taken DO for any class. You will learn almost nothing from him but will end up teaching yourself everything and will hate going to his class..any good ratings are by him!!!!!

Worst Professor at SDSU! He really ruins the Real Estate Dept. I can't believe this guy still has a job, i heard they've been trying to fire him for years. He flat out CAN'T communicate with anyone. Listening to his lectures will actually make you more confused on the subject then if you read out of the textbook. SDSU, please get rid of him!!!

Welcome to "Teach it Yourself" Finance. Test questions are from the book and says what will be on the test, but come test time there is always a surprise. Very impatient. If you don't know the answer, he humiliates you in front of the whole class. In class exercises are useless b/c he just gives the answer with no explanation of the process.

In my entire college career, this has been by far the worst teacher I have ever had. He yells at students for asking questions despite the fact that it is very hard to understand him. He supplies incomplete notes (the ones he shows in class are not the same as he posts on BB) and then says all answers are in notes. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Reading the book is a MUST, given you will not understand anything in class.(due to his accent but mainly because he does not TEACH well.) Just rambles. If you dont have the same calculator as him, he will not offer help. (you will use financial calc for 75% of his class) Does not like to help. He gets angry when you ask questions or for clarity.

He only talks about the nitty gritty of finance but does not do problems with you in class. He assumes everyone knows the material. You do not see your grade until the end of the semester. He wanted to make this class more intense then the semester before so he quadrupled the work load with many papers and hw. He is very general when he lectures.

Get the book, because it will be the only thing that you're learning from. The professor doesn't teach and his notes in lecture are different from notes he posts on BB. He always say you need to learn these important things in Finance, but never teaches them. He expects an intro class to know the materials already and looks down upon the students.

TAKE HIM He is the worst teacher, doesn't speak English well and is very rude to students who ask questions BUT he curved the entire class so much it's impossible to get a low grade Make sure to attend EVERY class for an easy 100 participation points and learn alllllll math and calculator work from YouTube (he doesn't teach it at all)

Very rude aged man, I was receiving A grade till the end of the semester but with Attendance and participation he lowered me to B+.

Was rude, unhelpful and unclear with what he wanted on tests. Big curve at the end will help your grade but tests were still tricky. Try to avoid.

He is Kind but not clear. I had to study and understand the concepts on my own before class lecture, he makes the materials very hard to understand while it's very simple. Don't take his class if you want to learn the materials. He tells you what will be on the exam. there will be one extra credit. Attending is 25% of your grade.

First ever review of a professor and it is to warn of taking his class. He has a very strong Vietnamese accent and even though I'm Vietnamese myself, I cannot understand him at all. I don't know what is expected and he expects us to just know. If we ask a question, he belittles us in front of everyone. Don't take unless you have only 9 units.

Early on he had a mistake in the syllabus, where he allowed the purchase of the e-text but forbid the use of electronics in his class, while requiring you to have the text every class. Knowledgeable, frequently off topic tangents (about stock market granted, but usually off the chapter topic, SOMETIME would relate) gets frustrated with any question

3 tests are 75% of grade & 25% is showing up and doing the quizzes which he pretty much gives you the answers to. He is knowledgeable but isn't a very good teacher. He's pretty rude & will call you out & make you look stupid in front of the whole class. His tests have huge curves but are a little difficult from the way he worded them. Easy to pass.

God, where do you start with Do. He is the most discouraging professor to ever have. I question whether he has any actual qualifications to lecture on the topic of real estate. His data is from over a decade ago. He rambles about theoretical frameworks that have no place in the world of real estate. Really a poor reflection of the program. Shame.

English is not very good. Its difficult to understand what he is saying when trying to explain mathematical concepts. Lecture bounces all over the place, you will hear about his gambling problem and his ventures in real estate. Will use every minute of lecture time in the process as well. Overall, a poor learning experience.

Is rude, tells people who failed the tests that they should "get ready to flip burgers at McDonald's." Gets angry without reason, and will embaress anyone when he has the chance. His lectures make no sense, no structure and he does not show us how to use formulas etc.

This class had a lot of potential: Only 3 tests, xtra credit offered, pop quizzes can be done in groups, decent curve on tests. HOWEVER, he doesn't teach! Lectures are long and hard to follow. You'll end up teaching yourself the material, and it's not an easy subject. Felt lost all semester. Finance calc a must. Don't take him.

Teaching style is very confusing. You will most likely have to teach yourself the material. Textbook really helps. 3 Exams and In-class quizzes. 3 Exams aren't too bad due to the curve. In-class quizzes so you have to come to class if you want the extra points. Take him if you HAVE to.

Avoid this teacher. He is not clear on grading, quizzes, and exams. Also, if you really want to learn about Finance avoid this class. You won't learn much.

Finance majors should not take Do. Go to class and ride the big curve and you will pass but you will not learn anything. He tells you what is on the exam and still there is a big curve. He is bad at explaining. When he is asked a question he says go read the book.

I knew that Do was a terrible professor and likely the worst I have ever had, but it hasn't really hit me until now. I am currently taking a BA 405 quiz (a capstone course) which is testing me on my finance knowledge. I am realizing that I know absolutely nothing about finance. I hope he retires or he gets fired. Rude man, bad professor

Never once during my 3 years at SDSU have I experienced someone as disorganized as Do. He is the only professor I've ever had that doesn't even have his syllabus on Blackboard. He is very difficult to understand and provides no clear guidelines on what he is looking for on assignments. By far the worst professor I've ever had.

Do has a good heart, but he is not a good teacher. gets mad when you can't calculate things in your head. You will always be confused on everything. 3 Exams (15 ? each) are straight forward if you go to class. If you don't go to class you will be so lost. 2 ECs but its a ridiculous amount of problems. Doesn't post grades so no clue what grade is.

If finance is not your major, then Do is the best one. You wont understand anything, but there is no home only whatever its done in class. He give three test, and he provides a study guide, he literally tells what the exam questions will be.

He puts up slides on how to do the work, but doesn't explain how he did it. You have to look at the slides at home and figure it out yourself. Two exams 15 questions each and the final. Quizzes can be done alone or in group. He doesn't have a syllabus so you can't study ahead. If you ask a question in class he will embarrass you for asking.

Unfortunately Prof. Do is the probably the worst teacher I have had throughout all of my education. He starts off being funny and like-able but three months of not learning a single thing he starts to drive you crazy. He doesn't teach anything in his classes, just goes on tangents about politics and how his students disappoint him. Do not take him!

By far the worst teacher I've ever had in my entire academic career. He asks the class confusing questions about things he's mentioned ONCE and will embarrass you for not knowing the answer or if you ask a question for clarity. Spends his time telling the class how disappointed he is in us, but never fully explains concepts. Horrible.

The worst teacher I've ever had. Makes students feel terrible for not knowing an answer that he did not teach. Kept saying he was "profoundly disappointed" in us when we are not finance majors. Would also single out students and make them feel bad even if they tried to answer a question. Terrible environment to learn. Don't do it.

Goes on random tangents about his life. Very difficult to understand what he's saying let alone teaching. Midterms and final are 14 questions. My only recommendations are to do the extra credit (10% boost on the test), show up to class, try not to get called on (yelled at), and try to find a study group to suffer with through the semester.

Heavy accent & very rude. Encourages students to ask questions but at the same time is extremely condescending and might not even answer your questions. Loves to lecture and talk about finance but refuses to explain/break down equations. Expects you to know the material from previous classes. Take someone else if possible!

The class itself is already very difficult. He makes it harder by not actually lecturing in class (he goes off on political tangents), and his tests are extremely difficult. If you want at least a B, you HAVE to go to Aplus Review. They really teach you the material . You have to go to every class for the 25% participation. He just sucks.

I thought taking him would be fine because all these reviews said if you go to A+ you will be fine. It was not fine. A+ did not help at all. I guess Do changed his tests once we went all online? Because A+ had no idea what the hell was on his tests. DO NOT TAKE HIM, HE IS NOT HELPFUL, A PLUS IS NOT HELPFUL.

This professor does not care about his students at all. You will learn absolutely nothing and get no help from the professor. I'm not afraid to work hard to do well in a class but this class is absolutely terrible and you'll be better served taking it with someone else

if you wanna pass, DO NOT take this class. Prof Do is very smart but you cannot understand a word he says. he does not explain things well and re-uses zoom recordings from past classes. on top of that, exams are incredibly hard and he is rarely available for help. unhelpful, unprofessional, and A+ does not work for his class anymore.

This guy is no doubt very smart, but whatever you do, do NOT take him whatsoever. All he does this semester is dump 10 pre-recorded lectures on us (old ones too) and then gives us an exam that is so unnecessarily hard, complicated, and unclear. rinse and repeat 3 times and then that's it. He doesn't care at all. Do NOT take him. A-plus doesn't help

Professor Do is the epitome of a tenured professor. The entire class grade is determined by 3 tests and nothing else. His lectures are word docs that he narrates over. His exams mix up content from his other finance classes. For our class, he also changed the day the course was to be taken!

His pre-recorded lectures are terrible due to the fact that he's difficult to understand and fails to emphasize important topics for the test. I feel very unprepared despite watching all of his recycled lectures. Also, the entire grade is based on 3 tests. Lastly, he has not made any effort to be friendly or make himself available. He's a joke.

This might have been the worst class I have ever taken in my life. Avoid this professor at all costs. Whole grade is based off of only three exams that are impossible. Does not make himself available to students. No live lectures. All pre recorded that are extremely hard to understand and learn from.

You are only graded on 3 things. There are no live lectures. I taught myself everything because his outdated recorded lectures are useless (hard to understand + no clear material is communicated for tests). This is the worst class I have ever taken. He s getting paid by the university to answer an occasional email, it's completely wrong. STAY AWAY.

Used to be an easy professor but made the class unreasonably hard for virtual learning. He is a poor test writer and sometimes forgets to put the correct solution as an answer. Go to A+ and bet on the curve cause you'll need it. Lecture videos are worthless and good luck deciphering his Word Document "lectures".

He is the WORST professor I have ever had and should not be allowed to teach. His lectures do not prepare you for exams, they are difficult to understand and the transcripts come out as gibberish due to his thick accent. Furthermore, he often gets answers wrong on his OWN EXAMS but will belittle you if you dare reach out. A PLUS ReviewOnly hope.

You will learn nothing from the professor. You are graded on 3 exams. His syllabus says he "might" curve the class. His recorded lectures are long and worthless. Do yourself a favor and try a different professor.

As a straight A student, this class was by far the worst class I have ever taken. Tests are unreasonable, not enough time, and disappointing. Lectures are useless. Had to learn the concepts entirely on my own. Professor's been absent all semester. The only people doing decent cheat. So SDSU, unless you promote cheating, you need to do better.

I sarcastically chose "participation matters" because professor Do did not once participate this entire semester. As you can read from the other reviews, he didn't have live lectures. His notes are useless, they don't matter because the test questions are different. He gives practice problems, but they're easy, and good luck finding them. DONT TAKE

God Awful professor, he didn't teach anything this semester. Thank God for A+ review. They're the only reason that I ended up passing with a B.

The worst professor! You are graded on 3 exams. You fail one exam, the highest grade you can get is a low B. You get 60 minutes to do 30 Questions. Each question takes about 2.5 to 3 min to complete. So you basically have to guess on 5-8 questions each exam. His lectures suck and you cant understand him. I have a 3.8 GPA and struggled with this.

Do does not care about his students or their success. He purposefully tanked the grade average with the second test by making all of the answers "None of the above". If you have to take Do, don't watch or read any lectures. Save yourself some time and sanity and go to A+. He also pulls material from his other classes and dumps it on his students.

The worst, tenured professor I've ever taken. You basically teach yourself since his lectures aren't helpful. I literally didn't learn anything. No homework, so your entire grade is based on just 3 exams (30 questions for one hour). There's no proctoring but the exams were so confusing. Take someone else. I'm usually an A student but not this time

Trust the ratings. The only way to succeed in this class is either by cheating (great job SDSU!) or pray to baby Jesus that he curves. Do not take his class under any circumstance!

Don't take this professor. He sets the class up to fail. It's such a disappointment because the material is interesting and useful but you have to teach it to yourself. Emailed Professor for help and was told that he has too many students to help me. This class has definitely made me re-think my path with SDSU. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!

Terrible Professor. Came into this online class with a 4.0, watched his lectures, read the book, and even went to A+review, I really do know this material but currently I have a C. Don't think it is possible to get an A in this class, his tests are poorly worded and he doesn't show you what you get wrong (how can you learn to get better?)

Yeah so Mr. Do here is doesnt do anything doesnt teach you the lectures are all from 6 years ago. Dont even bother looking at them. I had to be on an airplane during the time period of one of the test dude wouldnt let me take it two days early cause I didnt let him know in August how am I supposed to know what Im doing in December.

Professor does nothing but send rude emails. Lectures are prerecorded from years ago and are no help. Tests are impossible. Whole grade is based off of 3 exams. This class is a prereq for most FIN classes, yet I'm ending the semester knowing absolutely nothing and will be behind in my next finance classes. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU'RE A FINANCE MAJOR

Worst professor I've ever had, and the only class I've ever had to go to tutoring for. Incoherent, and uses broken English on test problems, which causes confusion. Grade is determined entirely by 3 tests. He recommends using an HP12C, don't buy this. Any other calculator ever made is a better choice.

No disrespect, but I cannot understand him given his heavy accent. You MUST attend A+ review, but even with that, everyone fails his exams. This speaks volumes for his teaching abilities and the poor learning his students are getting. It is a shame because this course is so important for finance majors.

He has a very hard to understand accent. He said that attendance wasn't mandatory then got mad when no one was showing up and took down his lecture videos which were the only actually informative thing in this class. He'll randomly go on political rants instead of teaching. I am a straight A student and found this class impossible without tutoring.

DO NOT TAKE Prof. Do's BA323 Lectures are hard to follow and hardly helpful, gives you all the course material and basically tells you to teach yourself. Had a difficult time matching lecture notes to the sample problems he provides. Entire grade based on 3 difficult exams. Highly recommend tutor to pass, makes a lot of inappropriate comments.

Do is nuts, grade is based on 3 tests. You might think that's fair, but his lectures make no sense. Tests don't align with lectures, nor do they make sense. Class averages on tests are usually a D at absolute best. Only way to pass is with the curve...not even sure how this guy can call himself a "professor"

DO NOT TAKE HIS LECTURE. There is nothing we can learn from his lectures. Waste of tuition. I really don't understand why he has a class for international students. Terrible professor ever and forever. If you want to take FIN327, you should take regular one.

Horrible teacher, 3 tests worth the entire grade. Half way through the semester decided he was going to do in class quizzes for extra credit. Curves, but does not teach a single thing in class.

I understand taking on challenging courses willingly, but yooooo! Professor Do is unreal. It was such a traumatic experience taking his course that I nearly thought I was the problem. Is there, like, a post-Do emotional support group out there? lol

Do is so terrible at teaching that new/repeat students would rather remain hopeful to get through the waitlist of the same course with other professors. Could SDSU please provide a Realistic Residency Preview! It would have been great to know ahead of time that the only professor ever without a waitlist is Do. Worst thing ever for finance majors!

Textbook + Do's Lectures = Confusion. Probably better without the lectures. If you like being in the clouds all the time, this class is the perfect match for you. You can get stuck, lost up there with Do all you want. Taking a chance at his course is the biggest regret I have ever made in the entirety of my academic life!

I understand valuing more inclusiveness at SDSU, but professor Do is an exception. His confusing lectures and handouts are detrimental to student success, learning outcomes... students have already dropped out of his summer class

He's extremely difficult to understand and his recorded lectures didn't help when studying for the exams. All the exams for the summer class were generated by the textbook company.

Worst professor at SDSU. 3 exams and thats it. No HW. No extra Credit. Nothing. Also the exams have typos and errors. Do not take this professor if you actually want to learn this material. 0/10

The online class consisted of 3 exams. That's it. It's tough to understand the concepts since you basically have to teach yourself. If you miss any of the exams you're in trouble, as you can't retake them. He was pretty rude in his first zoom meeting too. Find someone else if you can.

As an incoming transfer student, Professor Do was the last available option for the course. I took his asynchronous class. From the beginning of the course, you have access to his readings and lectures, which were hard to understand. The grade is based on 3 exams. I would not have passed without tutoring and review workshops.

There's nothing to learn as his lecture videos were from past semesters he wants u to use an old and outdated calculator from the 1970s. To get thru this go to a+ review to learn how to pass his exams. The first 2 exams are hard but DO NOT RELY ON Chegg for the 3rd exam as he heavily edited to be more difficult. A+ will help u on the 3rd exam.

Beware transfer students - If you have to take Andrew Do because it's your only option I suggest that you take another class that fits your graduation requirements. Everything you hear about him is true, and I honestly wish I was given the advice I am providing. SKIP AT ALL COSTS!

wish i had enrolled in something else and waited for different professor. Attitude and teaching wise this man is the worst. disregards student concerns and blames the entire class failing on us "not trying" instead of his inadequate teaching. 3 exams, no cheat sheet, gives no equations on exam or study guide, 15 questions and each test is worth 30%

worst professor at SDSU. doesnt care about students performance, wants students to fail so he makes more money off of them re taking courses. grade based on 3 exams, and he doesnt let you look over them or know your grades. Refused to add me to his course before the add/drop deadline after I explained to him there were registration issues out of my control and I needed the course to graduate. There were 7 open seats. Probably should learn to stop ruining other people's lives just because he is upset with his.

Worst professor ever at SDSU. Made up everyone's final grades based on his opinion. He can't speak English properly and spends his classes talking about how much everyone hates him, how many degrees he has, and about his experience as a Vietnamese refugee in the US. Do not take him no matter what. Exams don't relate to material. Knows he has tenure

Avoid Do at all costs. Exams are extremely difficult to read & understand & are not based off of the material covered in class. He made up the end of semester grades. Spends most of his time ranting about his experience as a refugee and all his degrees but he doesn't know how to teach. Material is much harder than it should be for an intro class.

Worst professor at SDSU hands down. You get to listen to him rant throughout all his lectures but be prepared to also struggle trying to interpret what he's even saying.

Probably one of the worst professors ever! His class consists of 3 exams that are weighted equally. So if you mess up on one exam it will drag you grade down drastically. The exam are unnecessarly hard and his questions are made to trick you!! I barely passed his class and would definetly not take his class again!!!!

Professor barely speaks English. There's no homework and lectures are based off disorganized text documents which are irrelevant to exams. Grade based on 3 exams given from WRONG classes. Our final was based on real estate finance, all questions were on inflation based mortgages which had nothing to do with 323. Everyone failed then he dropped it

Will rant for sometimes entire lectures about the most off the wall things, then berate students during exams for asking questions that "even a kindergartener can do." For how many "credentials" this man has, I'm amazed at how he can barely teach. If you like having to go through other sources just to pass the exams, you'll love him.

This teacher is the worst I've ever had. He regularly berates students for asking questions and gets very angry when you answer wrong in class. He's mean and rude, with a thick accent that makes him hard to understand. His tests are difficult, with poor grammar, and intentionally confusing wording.

Only choose this professor if you have no other options, even then i'd consider waiting another semester to get any other professor at all. While taking the class online he told us on the very first day to buzz off and go learn the material ourselves and only attend zoom meetings if we had "questions" only to belittle students for doing just that.
