He is so funny and very understanding... It was only the first day but the class is two hrs long and he says he will cut it short most days bc he doesnt want to be there lol

This has been and probably will be the easiest teacher you will ever have. If you get the chance- take his class. It has been smooth sailing all the way. He tells you what's going to be on the test- all you have to do is review what he tells you and you'll pass!

If you want a teacher that gives you all the questions to the test then take him. He doesnt really care about any material that is not on the test. This class is the easiest A. If you dont get an A in this class then you can't handle college, cause this is as easy as it gets

Mr. Eisler is the funniest professor EVER. Take his lecture class. He gives you all of the power point slides and page numbers you need to know for the tests and he makes funny jokes. This class could be boring, but he actually makes it fun. Take it!

Funny professor but there is a lot to study for the tests, especially the final exam. Unfortunately, he teaches a boring subject so this class is boring despite his best efforts to make jokes about the material.

cool teacher. he takes the class before the test to talk about EVERYTHING thats gonna be on the test, so just go 2 class on the day of the test and the day before and study what he tells you...easy B, study and get an A on the lecture section.

Easy class!!! I sat through the class and didn't take notes and made A's on all my tests! Make sure that you attend every class, because he will give answers to the test that you would not be able to answer otherwise i.e. "His Wife's Name"! Don't buy book - I never used it and saved $150.00!

this guy is so flippin funny! the way he talks reminds me of Ben Stein. He is so clear in what will be on the test. but you have to go to class, otherwise you miss out on the freebies.

Great professor, really helpful and makes a boring long class entertaining. He will review all the material that will be on the tests prior so you don't have to worry too much about missing some classes of his. Should be an easy A if you attend all the labs and do all the work there.

Prof. Eisler is a kick a$$ teacher! He is monotone but his sarcasim will have you laughing thru class. Tests are easy just becuz he tells you exactly whats on them, if you go to class. He doesnt take attendence but he gives answers to q's on the tests to see who does come to class, and they are stupid q's bout vids he took that he shows in class.

Easy class. He is hilarious and he knows the class is boring so he stops in the middle of slides to show funny pictures or videos. At the end of class he'll give away answers to questions on the quiz. Tests are easy because he gives a review along with the pages needed to know.

Lectures are not boring at all as he adds in funny pictures, jokes and anecdotes of his own. Tests are pretty difficult even though he says they will be easy. Make sure you do all of the lab work on time, it is what helps you grade. Funny guy.

To sum it up in one word...EASY. Mr. Eisler is a really nice guy with a sarcastic sense of humor. Even though his lectures are long and boring, you always get out of class early and he puts funny videos in between his PowerPoint slides. Between the two teachers for this class you can pick, pick Eisler.

Very cynical; funny; articulate; educated; well-organized; won't put up with whiners and excuse-makers. Very fair; what you see is what you get. Be honest and upfront with him; come to class, read your text, take notes; be the grown-up he wants you to be.

At first I thought man this guy is dry but he turned out to be hilarious. EASIEST CLASS ive taken ever, besides it being simple material he makes it interesting takes little breaks to show weird things from online and we always got out at least 30 mins early from lecture. I never used the book, dont buy it.

Very amusing professor, always plays clips from ebaumsworld.com before during and in the middle of his lectures. All lecture AND Lab notes are online as well as lecture notes are presented in powerpoint format and come STRAIGHT from the book. It's easier to sit in class and follow along in the book during lectures than to take notes. Easy!

The class is ridiculously easy as long as you attend class and do all your SAM assignments. The lectures are rather boring, but he always ends class early.

He reads directly off PowerPoints & does tricky multiple choice exams. Will do super easy pop quizzes if attendance is low.

very easy straightforward class. go to lecture, there are attendance quizzes, go to lab, do your SAM assignments which are soooo easy and you will do good. tests are a little challenging, but with the other work being so easy you'll at least get a B or an A

The guy is pretty funny and makes lecture not so miserable with silly videos. He almost always lets you out early. The lab is simple too but just make sure you do all the Sam trash. This class is an easy A.

Pretty easy class, he's so picky about attendance though, and will count the class each day and give pop quizzes based on how many people he thinks are skipping. Do the online quizzes and the tests become a lot easier.

skipping class will hurt your grade, but a lot of lectures get canceled and when you do have it you get out early. he has a monotone voice but he is funny and lets you know what will be on the tests. easy A if you go to class.

Andrew Eisler is the man. He is so easy, no assignments really, and the ones you have take no more than 30 minutes. The assignments are a joke, but helpful on the "skills tests." The tests are easy as long as you study (and by study i mean skim over the notes before the test). Go to class to get free test questions and answers, EASY EASY A.

This is a great class and he is a great professor. Take this class with this professor you will love it!

Ok teaching about computers is hard because you're bound to lose your audience's attention. But this teacher does a good job of giving notes and giving you breaks between notes with something or other funny he pulled offline. Really cool class overall just pay attention to lecture and do the training for the lab part!

If you go to class and get anything other than an A, you're incredibly stupid. :)

One of the best teachers I've had. We did a lot of work, but it was fair. He told us exactly what to study for the tests and they were multiple choice. Labs were easy, most were done in 30 mins. He made good use of class time. I would take this professor again.

absolutely hysterical guy. he is definitely one of the coolest teachers i've had. class is definitely not mandantory but it helps if you're not great with computers. i would say go to class just to get a good laugh because he always has funy stories and videos. any problems at all and he's willing to help. great guy for sure.

Although this class is considered an easy gen-ed you need to attend lectures, and not slack off in txt book reading to do well. You also need to utilize the online txtbook component. I think everyone hated the SAM tests. in 2008 attendance was not longer mandatory and there was no service learning project : )

actually lecture tests are 50% of your grade and come from txt so I would buy a book, just not a new 120$ from bookstore

Take the online class. Dont buy the package- biggest waste of $. didnt even open it for the tests. easy assignments. get them done early!

Dr. Eisler is a witty man. The class is as laid back as he is. He is a good teacher and really does want the student to learn the stuff. His grading is not typical and there isn't room here to explain it. He will help you if you come to him. The tests are OK but not impossible. I'd take Dr. Eisler again if I could.

Unexciting material (not the professor's fault), but elementary. Two research papers, but they are simple. All other assignments are easy and straightforward. Take the online course. Can't really comment on Eisler as I never met him, but from his announcements and instructional videos, he seems like a nice enough dude. ;)

I had him for many classes. He really tries to help students and prepares them for real life scenarios. If you try at his class he will help you and he does understand that we are college students. But though he teaches this class well it is obvious that he would rather teach something more useful than basic computing knowledge.

Probably the best professor I've ever had at UCF. Very clear as to what's on the test, lectures were as interesting as the material was. Summer semester wasn't his strong suit, had a bit of an issue with his time management, but he went along with how the class was doing. I would take him for this class.

Great professor, very laid back and willing to work with students. His primary concern is that you leave class every day knowing something new. Highly recommended.

Eisler is a great TEACHER, but I think he's starting to lose his reputation as a great INSTRUCTOR. His class, while full of the most useful material I've yet to learn in this curriculum, was hindered by his numerous sick leaves and degrading ability to keep everything organized. Still, he's very helpful 1-on-1 and will go out of his way for you.

Goes at the students pace so everyone would be able to learn something every class. Make sure to check the discussion board before every class because that's where he posts about class cancellations. Look up the concepts in the book from what he tells you to study on the powerpoints since there will be multiple questions on that subject.

I took his video streaming class. The tests are all multiple choice and come from the powerpoints and the book. His assignments are moderately hard though. This is a good class for an IT student, but for a CS student, You might want to consider another professor because when you get to CS2 you wont have an idea whats going on.

Well, if you're looking for an easy A, take this guy. He's also nice, friendly, and funny. The problem is: you won't learn much java. You learn programming by doing assignments, and the assignments we got were pretty easy. Just from CS1 I knew how to do everything. So if you really wanna learn java, then you should consider a different professor.

I took him for intro to java, but I did not learn much java at all. The tests are all multiple choice, but they focused on rote memorization and syntax that was never discussed in class, basically the stuff that most programmers Google or remember after they use it for a while. The assignments were easy, but don't put them off.

stop whining! it is like this. The first two projects are strait forward syntax then the third project was a poker game, the fourth project a cell phone using GUI. Now we are doing super classes in the last week of march 2014. If you are not learning Java that is your fault. If you want to learn Java enough, watch you tube please do not whine.

Class is easy but you dont learn a whole lot. His video lecture are boring and from the book. If you read something in the book and dont understand his video wont help you because its basically from the book. No detail on what the book is trying to say. Test are hard but curves it. If you need an A hes the class to take.

I stopped watching the video lectures about a month in and elected to read the book and teach myself java via the HW. The HW is generally very easy but it teaches you important OOP concepts. I found his tests to be very easy (they were multi-choice) too, long as you read the sections he told you to and memorized the syntax of all the commands.
