Very helpful teacher yet inexperienced. often needed advice from older students in the class on how to explain something...etc. tests were much tougher than the dept. final and did not fully prepare me for them (i got a 101 on his final, a 76 on the dept. final) the web work is a nightmare- literally the entire semester every night for hours
He open to helping all of his students but his tests are much harder then the final. Harsh grader.
Extremly recommending him. He knows everything and has an dertalied exponation for everything. take him if you want clarity and learn math.
Amazing teacher!!! Explained everything in a very easy way. If you want to understand and be ready for the final take him! Do your homework, be prepeared for each test and you will pass the final with an excellent grade! In the future will take math only with this professor!
Greatest math professor of all time!!! I'm taking applied calc II and I WISH I had him this semester. Neither professor can match him. Difficult course but he makes it easy and enjoyable.
Best Math teacher! He teaches math how it was meant to be taught.
great teacher. Really helped me understand math. Hard work, but prepares you well for the final which is 50% of your grade.
Adrew is the best teacher ever, always there to help you anytime anywhere.
Incredibly helpful and communicates the material really well. The tests are not easy, but he gives quizzes that don't affect your grade too much prior to exams, so you'll know what you don't know. Highly recommend him.
Andrew is an excellent teacher. His class is well structured. There are pop quiz's every class, which count as attendance. There are also regular quiz's and tests. He is always willing to help you understand. This class prepares u well for the dept. final. Math is not an easy subject; follow his curriculum and it should be easy. Strongly Recommend
This is the MOST HELPFULLL PROFESSOR I'VE EVERRR HAD!! He stays after class till almost 10pm to go over material with you. He is helpful and patient. I wish is could take him for the rest of my math classes at baruch!
Simply the best and I meant the BEST math professor in Baruch College. Very friendly and always available for office hours, will help you until you get it. Exams are really fair. Crystal clear speeches.
Professor Gliber is the best math professor as far as I heard. I wish I could tale other math classes with him. I found the material super easy plus professor was very helpful and clear about what he was teaching. He would stay after class until 10pm to help you. He also has a great personality and he is very well mannered. Highly reccommend!
Prof Gliber is amazing. He really cares about his students. He makes math interesting. Not easy but he breaks it down so that everyone understands. I would highly recommend his class. Especially to those that are not strong in math. Each class we had a quiz, very helpful to see if you're doing good. Always attend class, take excellent notes.
I am taking Pre-Calc with him. He is the greatest professor in the history of professors. He will spend hours with you if you need additional help. I deff recommend taking his class.
He is a good math professor. Enjoy his lectures. He has different style of teachings but he is good. He knows what he is doing. If you are not sure about something, speak up!
Andrew is the best. Took 1030 and 2003 with him. He is a very professional and helpful professor. He explains the material very well. Encouraged me to learn and unlock my potentials. After taking 2 classes with him I became very strong in math and began loving it. He's available almost everyday and will spend hours with you if needed.
A Great teacher is willing to accommodate and work with students if they don't understand something, You can see he is passionate about Mathematics and is as a result kind of inspirational. His attitude make you want to learn. Very awesome Professor.
Prof Gliber is one of the nicest and most caring people ever. He really works to make sure everyone understands the material, and will spend hours with you if he has to. Gives a TON of homework, but none of it is mandatory and it's all to help you learn the material and can replace a test grade. HIGHLY recommend him, great person and prof.
WOW. I have never seen a math professor care so much about his students before. He will literally do whatever he can, whenever he can, to teach you the material and earn a good grade. Must take!
Andrew is an amazing professor. Definitely the best in the math department, maybe even the entire school
An absolutely amazing professor! Definitely take!
THE BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER! I took him for algebra and now I'm taking him for calc 2! You will actually learn by taking his classes and enjoy his lectures! I hated math but ever since I had him, Im starting to love math. He cares for his students and wants everyone to pass !
Want to learn cal? Take this course w this professor. Want to just satisfy core requirements? Take another course or get obliterated. That is basically everything in a nutshell. You will come out of this course with a great fundamental understanding of calculus other students simply do not glean at this level. Professor is A+++++++++++++++++++
I had Professor Gliber about 2 years ago for Math1030. Before him, I was a struggling math student and had failed 1030 the previous semester. This is a professor that I will NEVER forget! The night before the final, he reviewed with about 15 of us in his office till almost 11pm! He truly cares about his students and loves what he does. Amazing!!!
Baruch is famous for terrible departmental professors. As someone who had been "mathematically challenged," it all changed until I took his course. It was the hardest course I've ever taken, and I survived pretty hard courses. The professor is ALWAYS there. Just work for it. If you don't study and slack off, you're doomed to fail. Practice is key!
He is THE most caring professor and one of the most brilliant man I will ever meet in my life. Choosing him as my calc prof was the best decisions i've made in school. He will challenge you for midterms, so dep final will be joke(for 2205, 2003).There is a reason why he's one of the most popular math profs. USE HIS OFFICE HOURS AND ASK FOR HELP!!!
ANDREW GLIBER IS THE MAN! He teaches students to understand the reasoning behind math along with its applications THOROUGHLY and will help you A LOT during office hours. I always dreaded math (as most people) but somehow, Andrew Gliber indirectly showed me how it can make you a better person and today I'm a math major. Cheers Andrew!
This professor is hands down the best math professor at Baruch. He devotes a lot of time to his students and other students from different classes. His class is very challenging in a constructive way. His challenging test is a great preparation for the final and the final will be so much easier. You have to put in the effort and time, its worth it
Andrew U the man!!!!!... Best teacher at Baruch... Didn't receive a great grade , but also have a really poor mathematical background ... Awesome guy
One of the best professors I ever had. Always accessible after claass and willing to work with you to understand the material. Offers extra credit and is always willing to help
This professor is by far my favorite so far in this college. He not only cares for his students, but actually puts in the time to make sure his students not only learn what is in his class- but as well give you little hints and tricks for the math classes to come. Very very progressive way of teaching, highly helpful. Take him, end of story.
Fair grader, gave quizzes in every class, a free 8% on your average (only 8 counted towards something, total of 16, you choose which he grades). The quizzes helped you understand which concepts you needed to go over before the exam which if you did, the exams come easy (His exams are harder than the final). You have to try to fail his class.
If you are look for a professor who truly cares about the success of his students. Who is willing to help you to the greatest extent ( inside and outside of the classroom). Andrew is definitely who you are looking for. Very good professor.
Thanks to Professor Gliber i had an amazing first experience at Baruch. He makes math so much easier with detailed explanation. I definitely look forward his classes!
Professor Gliber is hands-down the best professor I've taken at Baruch. He breaks down mathematical concepts so that they're easy to understand. His gives quizzes at the beginning of each class so we know what we don't know from the previous class. His quizzes made the final seem extremely easy. MUST TAKE!!
One of the best Calc professor in CUNY! MUST TAKE AND YOU WONT REGRET IT. Andrew puts his heart to help students to pass the final. I am one of the few who struggles with math in general but Andrew made math look like light.
Amazing professor! No complaints, he is GREAT!
He teaches with passionate, enthusiasm! Feel so relax in his class
The best professor at Baruch. Is always happy to help during office hours and his tests are pretty easy as long as you study.
He is the BEST professor in Baruch. Would love to take him again. Each exam is similar to the daily Quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to pass the departmental final you should be in class.
Seriously an amazing professor. I failed remedial math at Baruch, but somehow, I understood the topics Professor Gliber taught. He's super clear when teaching and makes math enjoyable. Three tests and a final. Homework was optional, but replaced lowest test grade. Definitely take his class if you have the chance!
super brilliant guy. He makes the material very clear. The only bad thing is that he moves really fast and skips alot of minor steps in the problem. Slow students like me need to see those steps too. Offers test corrections on every test in addition on to multiple other extra credits. class is harder than sample finals and you are well prepared
tests are tough but test corrections give you back 40%-60% of points you lost. (My 60s became 80s). in addition he gives extra credit worth 10-15 points. (those 80s then became 90s). class did horrible on 3rd test so he gave a blank copy of the test and told us to do test corrections for whole test then added those onto our score (30s to 70s)
excellent professor that explains the material well. you have to work hard and dedicate hours of studying because baruch math is no joke what the people before me said about test corrections is true (even tho it may be hard to believe)! technically you could hand in a blank test, do test corrections and get a 60, so imagine ur grade if you study
only reason he gives all the extra credit and test corrections is cause he violates with the exams. all three exams are like the hardest questions from each topic and its all short answer not a single mc question on any exam
The 3 exams were difficult, but it really prepares you for the final.
just got my grade for the class. way higher than i expected or deserved tbh. andrew gliber sees his students struggling and does what he has to do to help us out. true inspiration and has a gigantic heart
Hands down, best math professor in CUNY. Very knowledgeable person in every aspect of life. He tells you how it is and you better be ready, because he's not wrong. Overall, he teaches math in a fun way and if you struggle, he will be there for you.
best math teacher ever, if you fail your test he lets you re do it for some points back he does not care if you come to class or not he explains everything so well and he stops if you have questions or concerns
Andrew is honestly the best professor at Baruch. Daily quiz on the last classes material but you only hand it in if you think you did good. By the end of the semester you only need to have handed in 4 quizzes. In addition he allows for test corrections on his exams and is always available. I would literally go to him before and after class for help
BEST!
Amazing math professor that truly cares about his students. Teaches very fast so you will need to do some outside work if math is not your best subject. His exams and extra credit assignments prepare you very well for final and he will make himself very available for you if you need help.
Great math teacher. You will learn a lot in his class. If youre looking for an easy A however, this is not the professor to take. He violates on exams but you can earn back a lot of points. Earning those points are not easy though. You need to make up every sample finals adding up to about 360 questions.
Dont take him if youre new to Calculus and not a math major. He teaches way too fast assuming all the students know the calculus concepts already and just have to pass the class because they scored low on proficiency test. He makes students from 2 year colleges and programs feel stupid and talks low of their ability. Nice guy but too fast.
Andrew Gliber is by far the greatest professor of math out there. He knows what he is teaching inside and out and will teach it to you in the most understandable and concise way possible. He will challenge but will also encourage you and make you feel like you are good at math. Also, his class is generally harder than the final which is a blessing.
Great professor. He teaches fast in the beginning but slows down towards the harder material. If you don't understand you can always stay after class to ask him questions. His exams are his quizzes put together with different numbers so review the material on his quizzes to do well. He lets you make up the exam points but it's a lot of work.
The wisest and funniest professor you'll ever meet. He looks very young and can be confused as a student. He cares about his students a lot and allows test correction. Always come to class, if you do not understand about anything, do not be hesitant to ask. If you don't come to class, you're guaranteed to do poorly on his tests and quizzes.
He is extremely kind, funny, and his confidence rubs off onto his students. He may cover material quickly so make sure to keep up with his online assignments. He always wants the best grade for his students and gives a lot of room for improvement. Wonderful professor!
A young energetic professor who does a phenomenal job at teaching naturally difficult material. Goes rather quickly but does his best to make everyone understand. The class is formatted so you can get the best grade possible. You have to purchase the online course for hw. Beware of daily quizzes, although if they hurt you the don't count.
Professor Gliber was such a great professor. You can tell he knew what he was doing. Teaches with such enthusiasm. His exams were extremely hard but prepared you so well for the finals. I had a 70 exam average but received over a 90 on the finals, and he gave me an A.
Andrew Gliber was the best math prof I have had & made complex material very doable & comprehensible. He is funny, young, energetic, & extremely knowledgeable. Lectures important to your success in the class - take good notes. I recommend 2207 only to students who have a strong background in pre-calc/calc or else you may think he teaches too fast.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR OUT THERE!!He is so smart and makes math understandable and easy!!
Professor Gliber is one of the best professors I took at Baruch. He explains hard topics in such an easy way and gives the reason as to why something is that way (doesn't just tell you 2+24.. actually explains why it's that way) and that truly helps. Gives out quizzes and you get to choose which 4 you want him to grade Gives lots of homework
Very funny in terms of jokes and stories however very easy to follow class would definitely take any class he teaches because he is amazing! We all got great test scores under his teaching!!
He really taught me well when I needed it.
Hands down, best professor at Baruch. I was not a strong math student yet placed into 2207 freshman year, and he is the only reason I passed. A true legend
This is the best math professor EVER! Makes even difficult concepts easy to understand. Great guy, very knowledgeable, and you can still get an A if you arent a strong math student if you put in the work. His class is designed for you to be able to get an A if you do exactly what he says and do extra credit sample finals for tests. Highly recommend
Andrew is truly an inspiration. He has opened up the world of math to me in several ways. I wish there were more people like him in this world. If you study and attend his office hours, you will definitely do amazing in his class. Probably the most intelligent person I have ever met. Thank you for an amazing semester. I will never forget it.
Prof. Gliber is fantastic. The class, Mth 2003, is a very challenging course yet Gliber does his best to make it manageable. He is always available during office hours and can often be found working closely with 10-15 students during these hours. His exams are hard but genuinely prepare students for the final. Very nice person as well.
Didnt like this man one bit. If you have no prior knowledge of calculus, do not take his class because he makes you feel stupid and inadequate. Hes always in his office but doesnt answer emails. Grades tests hard, but gives you extra credit options BUT they are entirely too long.
He is a very good teachers and might sometimes rush the topic and come late to class especially since it was very early in the morning but he cares about his students and what he teaches. He gives 3 dates for one exam and lets people take it all during his night class if preferred. When it comes to the final grade it all depends on the final.
He taught too fast for me. If we didn't convert to online, I would've dropped the course. Due to converting online, the recorded lectures he provided were extremely helpful (could replay at your leisure). I ignored the course up until a week before the final (which explains my grade). Class is only difficult if you don't/can't keep up.
Amazing, this man is truly amazing. This class can be daunting but if you complete the work he requires youre almost guaranteed to pass. Put in effort and he will do everything in his power to help. You will work hard but it will pay off. Ask questions he will break everything down. His quirkiness made math way more bearable. You wont regret him
supposed to b precalc, literally teaches you calc. too many stupid tests that are nothing like his practice quizzes. maybe its bc its a summer class but his grading system is the dumbest thing ever. he encourages you to leave answers blank instead of trying to make an educated guess. if you leave answer blank, no pts, wrong educated answer -15 pts
idk why he has such a high rating, the worst professor ever thatis going to mess up my perfect gpa. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID
Do not take this professor, he goes by topics too quick and expects you to know everything already. I gave him feedback that the exam was extremely hard and nothing like his Quiz he gave us before and he would giggle and say "yes I make my exams harder on purpose'' Idk why he would do that when EXAMs were 65% of your grade. Do not take AWFUL !
He really knows his math & how to teach. He explains well the "how" and "why". Though he goes FAST. His exams are almost like his quizzes & are harder than the final, so the final seemed "almost" like a breeze. He always says he makes it harder because he wants to set us up for success for MATH2205. Summer was tight. Overload of exams and HW.
YOU GOTTA WORK HARD FOR IT. I've no regret taking his class at all. He knows his materials very well and is able to make the lessons easy for his students, but be prepared for the crazy amount of MyMathLab though (no joke at all). As long as you study hard and pay attention to his pre-recorded lectures, the final exam should be relatively easy.
Math is not meant to be easy and you have to work for it but this professor simplifies things a lot. Always in good spirit and caring, he was happy to answer to every single question, sometimes repeatedly. Thumbs up to this guy. This was my third semester in Baruch, this professor is absolutely outstanding in comparison to the others.
This class is very hard. Theres exams almost every week. Lectures are heavy and a lot of information. Exams are 65 percent of the grade. He deduct extra points if you answer question wrong on the exam. I was very confused in this class.
Even though his summer class was asynchronous, his lectures were pretty easy to follow and easy to understand (despite his horrible handwriting lol). His tests are pretty hard (you had to be sure about ur answer or else you would get points deducted) but that only made the final a bit easier than expected.
I was very surprised with my final grade. His exams are hard but it made the final very easy. His grading is pretty simple. Allows you to make up some exam grades with sample finals.
Great class. Not being familiar with calculus and strong in algebra will be your downfall if you're not willing to put in the work. This class is setup to make you succeed. ASK QUESTIONS! If you're unsure, just ask; he is very willing to help you.
The hardest thing about this class was the tests because if you got a question wrong you would get negative points. I really hated this policy, but it makes sure that you understand the material. He was very fair. He drops two of the lowest grades on the test. Extra credit replaces test grade. I recommend doing them even if you are doing good.
You have a test every single week that are extremely hard and account for 65% of your grade. If you get a question wrong, it will deduct points putting you in the negatives. He moves very fast with teaching as if this is something you know. This is Baruch's math class which is VERY EXTRA. Avoid if you can.
10/10 , I took him for Math 2003 and 2205. Test are kind of hard, but he gives so much review , good quizzes , test corrections, office hours, and so much more. The. guy. really loves his job and cares for you to do well. He tells you what to know straight up, won't waste your time. KING
I left this school because of him :) Not everything is black and white always...
Professor Gliber is a really good professor. He teaches with joy and passion and he KNOWS what he's talking about. I may have gotten a C- but I worked for it. For his class, you will have sample quizzes to do in order to prepare for his three exams. If you fail the exams then you can make up the score by doing the sample tests.
Honestly, he's just an amazing professor. Reasonable, kind, and knows his stuff. His tests are hard but they're made that way so that the final is easy. Compared to his exams the final wasn't bad at all so if you're looking for someone who's actually going to teach you and help you pass the final take him.
THIS PROF IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PROFESSORS I'VE MET IN MY COLLEGE LIFE. HE IS CARING AND UNDERSTANDING. DO NOT WASTE HIS TIME, PRACTICE HIS QUIZZES AND WATCH HIS LECTURES. HIS EXAMS ARE VERY HARD, BUT THAT MAKES YOU PREPARE FOR THE DEPARTMENT FINAL. I STRUGGLED WITH MATH AND HE MAKES THINGS SO MUCH EASIER FOR YOU. CAN'T THANK HIM ENOUGH!!
Material is hard but prof is pretty solid. Extremely smart guy honestly too smart that it affects his teaching. the grading system is an equation so i cant even tell you how he grades. A lot of homework on mymathlab but unlimited attempts so thats an easy A. Exams are brutal but theyre departmental. Get ready to put in a lot of time and effort.
This man has ruined my life. He decided to give three exams and at THE LAST MINUTE, decided that our grade will be based only on the final exam and oral test. This class is simply atrocious. If you want to be a happy human being, dont take this class. Absolutely horrible. Im sorry to those who have to take it (Good luck tho!).
Sarcastic teacher but the material is very clear. DO NOT JOIN GROUP CHAT. He pretended to be student, let us help each other on exam one only to have his "BUSTED" moment on exam two and change entire grading criteria. He deducts points for wrong answers on exams but does allow some makeup, just not enough to make up for all exams' deductions.
Professor Gliber is pretty solid at teaching and knows his stuff but his tests are super hard. His class is no joke and you have to study hard in order to pass. Homework assignments on MyMathLab are long but there are examples to help you understand. Overall, just take this class seriously and utilize all the available resources and youll do great
Great guy, but an extremely hard professor , its not even worth it.
My experience with this professor went really well! Even though the exams are difficult its to make us extra prepared to pass the final. He gives many opportunities to help your grade in the class, like mathlab, homework quizzes, and doing sample finals to gain points back on past exams. He's very kind and easy to talk to behind his sarcasm.
I've never in my life had a better math professor. He's the real deal. Do yourself a favor and take him. Material is hard for most people but he makes it worthwhile by preparing you and his enthusiasm.
Very inspirational and fun to talk with, especially during office hours. I did well on my finals and was ready to take the next-level math course. You must give in your effort for this class because one missed class can hold you back the whole unit.
Prof. Gliber is very funny and often inspirational during his lectures. He is obviously very passionate about the math and wants to make sure his students understand it. However, the exams are extremely difficult (worse than hell if you're not properly prepared) but he does warn you and the extra credit is very tedious but generous.
If you can join his office hours, have some extra help or basically spend a lot of your time on practicing then you should be fine. Nobody will warn you that there is no absolute way to contact the Professor through his email address or phone number. This makes it extremely difficult.
He is good in some aspects but lacking in others, he is very accessible and helpful outside of class, however, he rushes through lectures and his exams are extremely hard, he is very sarcastic and demoralizing which doesn't help. He is very knowledgeable and insightful, but his teaching style is only really suited for people who are good at maths.
Professor Gliber is great at explaining topics, however his exams are hard. Quizzes do help for the exams. Extra credit are a plus. Nevertheless, your Final grade will depend a lot on final exam grade.
Professor Gliber is a math genius who is very good at teaching you complex concepts. He is also available outside of class to help you if you need. I would be lying if I say that the course was easy, but that is not his fault. Calculus is hard. Leverage his knowledge and kindness and you will do well. Also side note: he sounds like Peter Griffin :)
Professor is funny and passionate about math. I had a great time outside of the material which is hard in my opinion. He is very accessible outside of class and tries to prepare you as much as possible for exams.
The course itself is difficult so you have to put in effort. Exams are harder than the final so you're well prepped. He is super accessible & helpful outside of class. Go to his office hours! I took his class last semester & still showed up to office hours this semester. Very kind & respected both mathematically & personally. Best prof in Baruch!
He is an amazing professor, he is almost too smart sometimes. If math is a bit difficult for you already then it's gonna be tough because he can go very fast but if you just ask him to clarify or go over it again then he will. I never thought id pass MTH1023, but i ended up getting an A. Just be at the lectures and make sure to do the homework
Prof. Gliber can be tough, but he's passionate and helpful outside of class. Exams are challenging, but extra credit opportunities and resources like Unstuckstudy make it worthwhile. Attend class and put in the effort - it pays off.
Professor Gilber is deeply invested in his Calc 1 lectures and teaches the material well. The exams can be tough, so I highly recommend attending every class, going to review sessions/office hours. He also offers corrections to boost your exam grade by a lot. The class is challenging, but you'll leave with a solid understanding of calculus.
Prof. Gliber is kind and accessible, with flexible deadlines and extra credit. But his teaching is unclear, and the heavy WebAssign workload makes it hard to actually learn. The class felt more draining than motivating.
This professor is good; he teaches a bit fast, but he offers office hours for those struggling with homework, quizzes, and exams. I wish I had used them more in this no-calculator course. He also encourages students to stay for the 2nd session to get extra practice for the upcoming exams, which can be helpful.
