Professor Halseth is one of the best math teachers on campus. He explains everything very clearly in a way that makes math understandable. Do your homework and the tests should be pretty easy. I recommend him to anyone who has struggled in math before.

Hes the best math teacher ive ever had. His tests arent difficut as long as you understand him in class and do homework. He tests you on the basics and warns you ahead of time if there will be a quiz. Explains very well. If you hve trouble learning math and need a good teacher. Hes great.

Genuinely nice and helpful. He teaches very clearly, and the few times people need help, he is very patient and willing. You get to retake a test, which helps a lot! What he teaches in lectures, he has on the tests. No weird surprises, very straight forward. Some extra credit. Neat handwriting also!

Andrew Halseth is DA BomB...the bestest math professor I have had in years...he breaks it down so you will be able to understand it...

If you don't have great math skills and need this prereq for teaching, this is the class for you. It is not the easiest, yet Andy explains it well and you really learn the concepts needed. He also works with you if needed so that you perform well. And he looks good in jeans.

Great for future teachers. He teaches concepts and methods that make sense and work. He helps students truly understand what math is all about, as opposed to rote learning procedures that have no value or meaning. I now actually have an appreciation for math! All teachers should teach the way he teaches. And he's hot and has good taste in jeans.

Halseth is a great teacher who explains concepts well and grades fairly. Daily quizzes are easy if you pay attention or read the book. Tests questions aren't hard. He allows a notecard for tests and a page of notes for the final. He answers questions well and is helpful during his office hours if you need him. I strongly recommend Halseth.

He's a solid teacher. Sounds like Mitch Hedberg, but he explains it pretty well. Typos on the whiteboard, but it's still easy to understand.

Halseth is very good at explaining and will answer all of your questions. You will have HW regularly but turn it in and you get full credit. You have quite a few Quizzes but they're open book/group work. 1 page notes are allowed on exams. Do the HW, pass quizzes and do ok on exams & you should have no problem getting a good grade. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

I hate doing homework but Halseth keeps it short and sweet. He assigns problems that will help you on the test; no extra stuff. I like the way he operates his class, and he makes math tolerable for those who hate it! His sense of humor is a plus also. I'm passing this class with a breeze.

I am not a math person, but I really enjoyed this class and I learned a lot. The class is very straight forward. He assigns useful assignments and is very fair. I had to miss class a few times due to unforeseen circumstances, but he was very understanding. Just like any math class, do not miss any days or you will fall behind. Highly recommended!

Great teacher; tons of examples, tons of problems on the board, and plenty of help if you need it. Gives you handouts for the stuff you need to know most for the exams and lets you use them DURING the exams! Also lets you use a page of notes for exams. Halseth is awesome. I was nervous about taking trig because I hadn't had math in a couple of years but he really made the subject easy to understand. I had to work hard for my grade (A), but Halseth made it as easy as possible considering the fact that trig is not the easiest subject. Also, his math humor is hilarious. Highly recommended.

This professor is awesome! he has take home quizes and his tests are based on the take home quiz questions and from notes. i recommend him to people who want an easy A in math whatever he teaches

First, the textbook doesn't do a great job at explaining concepts. This was a hard class. Teacher does a good job of explaining, but goes at a quick pace. Average student grades were in B to C range. Homework is graded. Teacher gives quizzes that are group work and open book & notes. Tests are hard, but he gives practice tests, which are helpful.

great teacher. nice guy. is very helpful. learned a lot. was able to be prepared for pre-calc. it was quite easy; just do the h.w., study, ask questions, and you'll be fine.

He's a great professor. Exams are a little bit hard. He gives you practice exams that are a little helpful. The book isn't very helpful, so attending class is a must if you want to pass with an A or B. Answers questions very well, and he's kinda funny at times.

wonderful teacher. He teaches as if you're not math geeks but normal people. he brings it down to a human level. you have to work for your grade. but he basically spoon feeds everything to you. 4 tests that are easy to study for and the final is cumulative but you can have 4 pages of notes outside of those he gives you. i recommend him to everyone.

Be prepared when taking class, LOTS of material to cover so quick pace. Teacher is great, but expect to study/do hmwrk 6-8 hrs/wk (min). Teacher assigns LOTS of homework, but good practice for quizzes & tests. This isn't an easy A teacher, but you'll learn the material. He does a great job of explaining the material, but covers 2-3 sections/night!

He has a lot of handouts. He's easy going - he GOES OVER EVERY SINGLE THING IN THE PACKETS WHICH YOU ARE GIVEN. Makes it easier for people like me to understand. He will take time to help you. I had to go to his office many times for help and he'd sit there with me and wouldn't mind my nit picking. He is very laid pack and easy on grades.

He is a great teacher but his tests are tough and you don't get to use any note cards. There are a lot of similar things in stats that are hard to remember. I got a D in his class and then took it again with a teacher who gives us a note card on tests and I got an A. If you aren't good at remembering things, don't take him. Take Sandy McKaig.

This instructor is incredible. You can count of him covering concepts in a way that makes sense, answering any question, and being very empathetic to any question asked. Class is comfortable and fun, and he actually teaches concepts instead of memorization. This Trig class benefitted me greatly. Would be an A if I did the homework and quizzes.

Professor Halseth is an amazing professor. All homework, quizzes, and test are done through MyStatLab and Stat Crunch. He really helps you understand Stats and teaches you shortcuts through Statcrunch instead of using formulas. Allows you to retake one test. Gives you plenty of time to do homework and will go over homework problems before class.

I've had so many math teachers throughout my life and Mr. H is the ONLY one who has gotten me over the wall. I can't recommend him enough, especially if you struggle. He helps you achieve confidence, which is so important. No matter what level your on, if you have the opportunity to be one of his students, take it. Life changing.

He will give you test exams for the midterm and final, and a packet of notes to use during the midterm and final. If you study and do the test exams repeatedly until you fully understand everything, you should pass the exams no problem! Homework and other assignments you can take repeatedly until you get 100%.

I took his online class, rofessor Andrew Halseth is amazing!! I wish all professors could be more like him, he is very good at responding to emails. Very helpful, great feed back. Tons of homework, the problems are very similar to what you will find on your exams, he does a great job preparing you.

I've never been good at Math and I was nervous to take an online stats course. I don't think you're ever going to find an "easy" stats class (unless you love math and it comes naturally for you). So I can't say this class was easy - but Mr. H made it doable and was always available to answer any questions, even on weekends. 10/10 highly recommend

The entire online semester I have not opened a book even once! He gives amazing mini video lectures! You have a week to do the hw. You can redo the hw and quizzes as many times as you want before the due date. He shows shortcuts for formulas. Has Midterm and Final, 30 question 180 minutes to do. VERY GREAT PROF. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!

Professor H. is amazing. One of the best and most organized professor I've ever taken at any college. HIs lectures are very thorough and easy to understand. You watch videos of his lecture and take quiz every week. Do your homework and you will pass. Exams and finals are exactly how it is in the homework, just worded differently.

One a week only and due at end of week couple short videos that explain really well step by step and short few homework questions that you can take as much you want and like once or twice a week a short quiz you can take as much you want and all even gets easier on a few last weeks of the semester. You ofc need to put in work but he makes it easy.

Great math teacher! I must admit I was terrified of taking an online math class and he made it fun and interesting. Text book included in MathLab purchase but rarely used. His lectures and example videos were all you need to understand the material. If I could take all math courses with Professor Halseth, I would!

Professor Halseth's course has been a good experience. I am not so great with math, but the setup of this course is great! Students use MyLab along with StatCrunch, with only a few assignments due every week on Sundays. Also, from what I remember, like 5 discussion posts all semester. Lecture videos are helpful, and many tools to get help on work!

As you can see from all the ratings, yes you should absolutely take Halseth. Dude makes stats a breeze compared to other teachers. He's very friendly and approachable and had my group busting out in laughter more than a few times. I'm just helping him get closer to the 5.0 he deserves.

He was a good professor. He answers all your questions that you may have. The homework was harder than the midterm and final! Very basic problems on midterm and final, no need to worry.

If you are looking for a STAT professor TAKE HIM! You will have weekly homework assignments, chapter quizzes, plus a midterm and final. His lectures are short, informative, and he also provides a note packet where you can follow along and take notes. You have unlimited attempts on homework questions and on chapter quizzes. Stressfree course!

Mr. H is a pretty cool dude. Super warm, very smart- his video lectures are very info packed, but in an understandable way. That being said, his grading system sucks. 60% of the grade is the Midterm and the Final, and another 15% is quizzes. If you want to stay sane and just need to pass, just take notes and don't worry about completing the HW.

He was my first college professor and oh my gawd he was amazing. I was able to watch his lectures at times 2 speed or 1.75 speed and his dictations in his lectures were super good so I was able to still understand the content. He makes the agenda very clear and teaches you really well how to use an online calculator for all problems.

Professor "H" is the best online teacher I have had. Personally recorded his own YouTube lectures and updates them. If you fear taking Stats, take this class, he is like the Bob Ross of statistics! He explains everything thoroughly and makes you feel confident with the material. He even goes out of his way and reaches out to students to check in.

Online class was smooth and clear. Uses MyLab for homework, quizzes, and tests. Unlimited attempts on all except for tests. Really wants you to pass and do your best to get the content down. Very understanding and caring.

Professor Halseth is amazing! I am someone who struggles with math, but I was able to do well in this class because of the format. This class does have lots of assignments, so its important to stay on top of deadlines. There are unlimited attempts on homework and quizzes which is very helpful. Midterm and final are very similar to practice exams.

Love Professor Halseth! He is so kind and genuine and is always available. His small videos are easy to follow. Hmwk can be done multiple times for highest grade till the cut off date, quizzes too. Uses MyLab for everything. At the end you can make up all your quizzes for highest grade possible. Very caring Professor and is the REAL MVP!!

I was terrified to take Statistics but Prof H made it easy to follow along and learn the subject matter. I am proud that I learned new skills and I could not have done it without him. His online videos are thorough and he is always available for questions. I am so glad I read his reviews here and decided to take him!

Coming from someone who is math illiterate. I do not by any means understand numbers. But this was by far the best math class I have ever taken and I think professor halseth is a huge part of that. The program he uses teaches you step by step how to do a problem, it gives you examples and you're able to redo the homework as many times as you want.

Don't get me wrong, this was a very difficult class for someone who struggles with math a lot. He made material easy to access and I understood it pretty quickly. Be prepared to spend 1+ hours on assignments but every is laid out already. Couple discussion posts and generally very straightforward class.

Look no further, TAKE HIS MATH COURSES!!! I sucked at math, thought I was not smart enough for it. He changed that. He cares, he's understanding, he wants you to succeed. I went from failing algebra to ACING trigonometry for calculus. All because of him. Take him, he will make a genius out of you without stressing you to a breaking point.

One of the BEST professors out there. I failed Stat 300 before but a friend recc'ed him after breezing through the class. Weekly tasks via MyLab, incl. a midterm and final. Weekly tasks also have 1-2 videos going over the notes for each chapter. Use these! His notes and videos are very easy to understand and he's very quick to respond to email.

I am STAT out!! Math is not my favor, so it may of taken longer to complete assignments. Get ready to commit 12+ hours per week to review the lecture videos, complete the chapter assignments and quiz. Besides tons of homework, Prof. Halseth is very responsive to emails and helps answer any questions and provides great feedback and clarification.

Trust me! you will not regret taking this professor. Professor Halseth teaches the material very clearly and goes over any questions the students might have. He teaches with funny examples and constantly cracks some corny probability jokes. HE ALSO GIVES US NOTES FOR MIDTERM AND FINAL

Professor Halseth is amazing! Beginning of the semester he provides with all the notes you'll need and he works through each problem in detail. He made STATS incredibly easy. Online quizzes have unlimited amount of tries available, also gives you a practice midterm and final. I wish him the best

Professor Halseth is the best math teacher I have ever had. He's extremely approachable, and his teaching style is so easy to understand and he encourages questions. Gives plenty of chances to redo quizzes and assignments to get better grades, and is always there to help. He gives extremely helpful note packets to use for the midterm and final.

Professor Halseth made Stats so fun. He is a great teacher! There was about on test every week or two. You could take the test as many time as you need to get 100%. There was a midterm and final one part is in person the other part was online. Overall he made stats very easy and not hard at all! 10/10 recommend this professor you will not regret it

I took this class in-person Fall 2023. Statistics is not typically an easy class but Professor Halseth did make the information understandable and prepared us for the quizzes, midterm, and final. Exams are in-person; but quizzes and homework are online and due each week on Sunday. Attendance is taken for this class.

Prof. Halseth is a great stats prof with a very intuitive, however very dense, course which you will likely pass if you don't fall behind. There is a fair amount of homework, but his course notes will help you immensely. As someone who struggles with math, he made statistics a fascinating and much more forgiving subject than expected.

Summer class, online. Well organized, great lectures, gives you notes, examples, practice midterm and final. Unlimited attempts at homework and quizzes, but very time consuming. Spent approx. 36 hrs a week on class. Midterm & final = 60% of overall grade. Stats is a VERY hard class, but this one seems like one of the best. No group projects!

The lectures are practical and relevant to what you learned. Lectures and examples are all straightforward. Quizzes and exams are accessible if you finish HW and practice exams. He responds quickly to student's questions. Great teacher!

I took this professor when I just started college at 15 (1 year ago), I can wholeheartedly say that this was one of the easier classes I took throughout my time at the community college. Unlimited attempts for homework, study guides for both exams and premade note packets to follow!

Super kind guy, he really wants his students to succeed its really helpful. His class is SO well organized, he gives you a manual at the beginning of the class that has everything you are going to do and its clear and perfect god I wish all my professors did that. He is thorough and responsible. Definitely take him if you can.

I passed with a 99. final is worth a good chunk of your grade. all hw and exams are on pearson. about 5 mandatory discussions with 2 required peer responses. responds to emails fast. his own lect. vids are set up in pearson. there is literally no reason not to take him. none at all.

As someone who isnt the best at math, his lectures were amazing! I took his Stats class online and I think he was the best professor I could have gotten. Yes, its hard not having a professor in person to teach you, but his lectures and textbook he uses are extremely helpful. Amazing professor.
