This prof was (I suppose) "clear" and "helpful"... but he was also an actor. Don't fricken' cry in class... and don't try to ellict emotional response among your students at the expense of the actual FACTS!

Absolutely the best. In a class of over 100 he knows almost all if not every single student's name. Messed up a bit on first essay in 120, but he offered ways to improve and did much better in 216 and 220 classes with him. Taking History 220 (Vietnam War) with him is a must. You will not want to miss a lecture with him because he's so engaging.

Hunt is brilliant, engaging and fair. I looked forward to every class. He really approaches history from every perspective so his arguments are fair and well thought out. The readings are great, especially the textbook. This is an important class to take.

hist 409a/b.......HUNT IS BY FAR my favourite prof ever!! i had him on my very first day of univeristy, and switched to a history major, just because of him!!and now this year i have had him for both of my senior history honurs seminar class!!

He is dedicated and well worth the time and energy required to take the course and do well. His "Drill Sargeant" routine alone is worth the price of admission. Hot in a quirky, professorial way.

Andrew Hunt is an amazing prof., perhaps the best prof. at UW. He is a sound historian (his books are great reads), his lectures are well researched and very well delivered and he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I switched majors because of him. I truly recommend any of Andrew's classes, particularly his Vietnam War class (220).

Great guy. Actually makes history lectures fun. Definitely more of a social historian; enjoys music, art, culture. Not very demanding, but you still have to do decent work if you want a good mark. He is very absent minded and forgetful.

Hunt is an excellent professor, I highly recommend taking any of his American history courses. He's passionate and engaging in lectures, and is always available and helpful to students outside of class.

Most amazing class - he is the most eloquent prof I have ever had. Attendance isn't mandatory but you do not want to miss his lectures.

I highly recommend taking his class. He has a really cool blog that goes along with his lectures, but since his slides are not very detailed you do you have attend class. His lectures are very entertaining, and always willing to help and talk to you. Minimal assignments and a straight forward final.

Andrew is the best professor I have EVER had! He is hilarious, inspiring, respectable and caring. The only reason why his classes are easy are because they are so interesting. You must attend his lectures to get detailed notes, but that is seriously not a problem because his lectures are so much fun.

Prof Hunt is a true storyteller. His lectures are captivating and perfectly broken up by clips of the music. He gives a completely immersive view of rock and roll that anybody (even someone unfamiliar with rock and roll) can follow easily. Prof Hunt is a fantastic lecturer. He can make the class more fun by breaking it up by music videos that are easily accessible on the blog. He gives us two papers and an exam, which is fairly graded, although it might depend on the marker as he delegates the work to his TAs.

Definitely recommend taking a Professor Hunt course! Any course! He could make anything interesting! I took history of rock n roll with him and followed him to taking HIST 207 Beatles and loved both!
