Decent teacher, just don't talk in his class. He brings his moods to class with him and he's not afraid to single you out in front of 300 people for whispering to the person beside you even if you're not being disruptive.
tests are easy, and lab grade brings your grade up anyways...easy A
He's a really good teacher and you don't have to buy the book, the tests are really easy....plus he's really hot.

Great class. I already all the stuff and took it for one of my Gen. Ed. credits, but it was GREAT! He is really enthusiatic about Bio, which is what helped me through class. Lab was easy, all you had to do was show up and read the manual. Did I mention he's adorable? I will definitely have to take some more classes with him. He's hot. Way hot

He's very entertaining and makes class fun. The tests are easy, and he offers random extra credit opportunities. He brings his mood to class with him though, so don't be that person talking during lecture.
This class is great! especially as a freshamen... keth really helps you and is willing to do pretyt much anything for you if it will help you! i def recommend him if you have to take a bio class!!
This class was great! I dreaded lab,but Keth just made it fun. He's really easygoing. I hate science, but I didn't mind it w/ him. He was funny, and class wasn't too bad either.
Take this professor if you're not good at science! He makes it easy to understand and remember and he uses real life examples for the things he's teaching about. The labs are fun and easy. If nothing else, he keeps you wondering if he's going to fall down the steps in Peirce Aud 'cause he walks backwards. Also very very HOT. Recommended highly
Dr. Keth is awesome! He made labs fun and the class wasn't bad. He showed a few videos and if you were there to fill out the questions he passes out you can get bonus points. Tests you have to study for. I also took him for a summer forensics course. Take it if you can. It was so much fun and the easiest A ever. 2 credits and it's only a week long!

Horrible, No book, so tests are suppose to be based off his notes, but most of the questions on the test are entirely different so its hard to really do that well when your tested on entirely different stuff than u studied... its suppose to be BASIC BIOLOGY!!
Nice guy, interesting class. Did not care for all of the note taking and the book was optional. If I had to do it over, I would definitely get the book. If you don't get the book, take thorough notes to study for the tests. More than willing to clarify things. You can sense that he loves science. Overall, good experience.
I took notes thought I did good on the tests, but I didnt I failed. The test was different than the notes. You have to know alot about biology. I had to withdrawal. We didnt need a book but GET IT. You HAVE to attend class or else you'll be lost, the movie quizzes are way to stressful, and he is really scary when he yells! Be aware

He is a great teacher! Plus he is very good looking. Don't get caught talking in his class though, he will point you out. His notes are short, but leaves out infomation that you need to listen for. He shows videos and gives you a quiz to take during. It's like an automatic 5 points.
Bio111 is the only class that is worth taking with him... this man is a queer prick, who plays with snakes! screw you keth!
He doesn't require that you have a textbook which is nice but you have to go to class every day to get the material for the exams. He's very sexy and but you also learn a lot because you want to hear what he has to say. I recommend him for this class over other profs.
I really like professors that seem more like a family friend that youve known for a long time and can go to, and he was like that.

Didn't like him! He would make something sound like no big deal and then grade it crazy and if you confronted him about your grade he would get mad and not even explain his reasoning. Queer with an earring!
I hated this class. Keth took an interesting subject and made it boring, but if you didn't pay attention you were screwed because he took random things he mentioned once and put them on tests. His notes were basically useless too, so unless you know something about the class, you might be in trouble.

Keth is an amazing professor! Coming into college, I hated biology because I never understood it in high school. But then i had him first for basic bio, and I understood everything. Hes very good at teaching and seems to really care about his students. Pay attention in class and go every day cause you never know when hes going to have a video quiz!

He's a pretty nice teacher, just pay attention and take all the notes and pay attention to his side notes.....they are useful for tests and come to every class and you will pass

I have him for an online class and he is not much help even when you email him. Multiple students I have talked to also have a difficult time with his quizes. They are worded weird and even when you find the answers in your book you are wrong. Instead of actually grading a paper he gives either half credit if you were close or no credit.

I took this class as an 8am. If you want to do well, then you need to attend every class. He gives bonus on random days. His tests are not to hard. I got over 100% A by going to class everyday, taking notes from the powerpoint, and reading my notes about 1-3 times before the test. He is a fun teacher, he will keep you interested.
He is definitely very knowledgeable and he knows A LOT, plus he has done a lot of projects on his own. He is not very helpful when it comes to answering your questions. He expects you to know what you're talking about when you come into the class or he is going to make a fool out of you. Lastly, make sure you don't fall asleep in his class...
I'm taking this class online I was warned that he wasn't a good teacher but had no choice to take him, when asking for help don't expect much from him at all this is not an easy class and he doesn't make it easy his assignments aren't very well worded either it is difficult to understand. Seems like a nice guy but is no help when it comes to this.
doesn't teach out of the book, doesn't teach from power points. have to take notes from what he says. weren't a lot of points during the class so exams were important. hard to study for exams due to the fact that there wasn't any solid material to know. just have to keep up with him in class, make sure you go for surprise attendance
He is a very hard grader. All his test are short essays, which is fine but if you don't write what he wants he will not give you points.
His tests don't even partially relate to the notes he gives, which there aren't many of. A few words per slide, mostly you need to write anything that he says cause it can and will be on the test in some way. I also personally feel he is very disrespectful to many of the students, including myself.
Does not help in any way. The notes are very poorly drawn out on the slides, and he is often non responsive to questions. He does not require the text book, but the notes are so crappy I'm assuming it would help. If you can avoid taking his class, do it.
I really enjoyed his class, and found that if you actually ask for help, he gives it! He doesn't do review, per say, but always asks if there are any questions before class starts. His lectures are good and interesting and he's very fun to learn from. As long as you pay attention, participate, and study, you'll be fine. I thought he was great.
There is no power point to print and it is very vague. Write down pretty much what he says, gives video quizzes randomly so coming to class is a must. Takes some work but not impossible to pass. He is willing to help anyone that needs it. Over all a good teacher.
He trys to trick you on exams . Kinda hard
He did not teach us anything. We read the material and went into exams blindly, knowing the questions would have nothing to do with the text. Each week was a nightmare because you knew there was no way to learn what he would test on. Writing project was a joke; he said all 300 students failed. He did not reply to emails or help us learn at all.
Enjoyed the class, made a challenging subject easier to understand. Knows A LOT!
Spring 2015 was his first time using Mindtap online for his lessons. He assigned twice as many chapters as any other class I've ever taken, and each one had several required activities in addition to each 30 question quiz. He stated that he wanted feedback, but when given, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional in return. A lot of work.
Keth is by far the rudest professor at Clarion. Don't fall asleep, walk in late, text, etc. Take someone else if you can. He does NOT allow leeway with late assignments. Get it in on time or lose all points. Take him only if you like being embarrassed in front of your peers. Claims he will help during office hours but is condescending & rude to you

Dr. Keth was not understanding and did not respect students. I graduated college and was going back to clarion to take a more courses, so I have dealt with many professors, but I have not encountered a professor as unprofessional as Dr. Keth. He did not respond to emails if he felt they were "unworthy" of his response. Overall not a good prof!
Not impossible but have too take good notes. Don't miss class, he gives video quizzes which are easy but you have to be there. Test are based off what he lectures in class.
I took one of Dr. Keth's classes to get the feel of a college course (it was my first). Compared to other classes I have now taken, this one seems fairly easy. His class is mostly lectures and some videos that he later quizzes us on. Do be prepared to take a lot of notes, because they can really help you in the tests.
Dr. Keth seems like a really cool guy but when it comes down to it this class killed my GPA and it left me telling all my friends not to take but his online class is SUPER EASY! His online is easy so his average grade is a C or higher. Good luck if you have to take this course with him
Most arrogant professor i've ever met. Don't bother going to talk to him during his office hours. He's unhelpful, could care less about what you have to say, and will belittle you.
Dr. Keth has been a really good professor for Prin 2. He is super knowledgeable on all of the topics and is obviously passionate about it. He gets a bad rap from a lot of students, but his tests are super easy, the class content is super interesting, and he means really well. I would recommend him to anyone interested in Biology!
Doesn't ever respond to emails even when they're important. Condescending and very unaccessible outside of class. I wouldn't recommend his class, in class or online.
Down to Earth guy, can tell he enjoys teaching, wants you to have lasting knowledge and not just enough to pass tests

If you are not a science major or biology is not a strong suit of yours, do everything in your power to avoid this class. There is an absurd amount of work where most of your grades are based on topics that are not covered in the text or slides. This class seems to very much set you up to fail unless you somehow just know the material on your own.
Basic bio (BIO111) with Keth is super easy if you go to class and take solid notes. He doesn't give you his notes "word for word" on a powerpoint screen, so you have to be prepared to write down what he says in his lectures. His exams are all multiple choice and true/false questions. He is willing to answer any questions you have!
The class wasnt insanely difficult, but you're given a lot of materials to read through and complete. He doesn't do tests or finals, which is odd and makes it feel like what I'm learning is pointless. Hard to get interested in the lessons. I also really dislike the "Instagram discussions"; they were weirdly casual and difficult to use.
Lectures are hard to follow and the questions on the tests are confusing. The choices are usually A, B, C, A and C, or all of the above, so good luck if you second guess yourself. He will call you out in the middle of the class if you aren't paying attention or are on your phone.
The test questions on his exams are unbelievably hard to understand. Don't expect to get above an 80 on his exams. If you try to email him, he is not very helpful and kind of comes off rude.

Dr. Keth is definitely a professor you will either love or dislike. He has a very unique personality, but it made for a fun class. Very knowledgeable about what he teaches and attendance is crucial to passing the class. Be prepared to take GOOD notes during lecture, not just the bullet points he has on his PowerPoint.
Dr. Keth is VERY entertaining. I was constantly laughing in his class because he always had a story or joke to tell. He was a great professor, but if you want an easy A, it isn't the class for you. I cannot stress enough to take GOOD notes and make sure you understand the material. If not, then his tests will be challenging.
I took Prin Bio 2 back in 2015. Keth assigned volunteer work. I couldn't do it because I worked 2 jobs; told me he didn't care and that I had to take a zero. I also told him I would be in Jamaica for my sister's wedding, and that I might need to take the final exam on a different date. He said if I missed it I'd have to take a zero. Horrible prof.
Do not
3 exams. Lecture is entertaining and we often get let out of class early. Tests can be difficult but be sure to study and you will do fine. They are all opened ended. Bonus questions are given. Videos are watched pretty often in class. He is available for office hours and will clarify on lectures when needed.
Big classroom. He doesn't assign homework, therefore what you hear in lectures is fair game. The slides have few bullets so listen carefully. There are only four exams, including the final, and he assigns in-class work for videos. Just be careful of the legacy project, he is tough about it. Great jokes though!
Dr. Keth is very knowledgeable about the content. He highly encourages class participation but fails to realize students will not willingly participate in a class if they are put on the spot. Students that do participate are not allowed to answer questions. Truthfully, the class caused me great anxiety each day and there are very few grades.
Dr.Keth is disrespectful to his students, he calls them out and is rude when unnecessary. He is also very difficult to have a conversation with. He is stubborn and can not be wrong about anything. Unless it is a requirement and you have no other choice, do not take a class with Dr. Andrew Keth
If anyone told me they have to take bio classes at Clarion, I would tell them one thing. It would be to avoid Dr. Keth at all costs. He is slow at responding to emails and if he does it is very dismissive and rude. Im a straight A student and am not one to complain about teachers, but Dr. Keth is the worst educator I have had in my 21 years of life
Assigns lots of work each day and grades discussions based on how much you participated (he says you should participate multiple times per day, however, he doesn't give you an average amount to get a 100 on your discussion). Based on my experience try to respond 7-10 times a day. He seems to be a nice guy that has an easy grading scale.
