Awesome teacher, full of enthusiasm for the subject, not too hard at all and eager to give help. Subject matter is really interesting.
Very good teacher. Very clear, but you really need to do your studying. The class is interesting and he's very nice and willing to help. I like him a lot.

andy is the best teacher ive ever had. he knows his stuff and has an answer for every question you ask. he is funny, nice and very helpful. i wish he offered more classes. but the tests are hard. and the class is fast paced. but great teacher overall

Very interesting material. Very smart man, has had lots of experience, and very cool on the side. This class is a must for people even somewhat interested in anthro. As long as you pay attention and read, midterm/final is not bad. Papers(2 only) are interesting to work on.
pretty boring but good teacher if u pay attention. fairly easy, but u have to read material
don't listen to the bad comments. He's extremely helpful and the tests are not that hard. The study guide is word for word out of the notes. Weekly hw, but the answers are right out of the book and don't have that much weight on your grade. Wish I could take him over and over. . . funny guy.
Fantastic teacher. He not only has a lot of knowledge about the subject, but also a lot of experience which really enriches his lectures. He's really helpful and available, so anyone who wants to can get a decent grade. Funny, fair, and a geniunly nice person. Defnitely take one of his classes!
He is a really good teacher, and the class is hella easy and he is hella laid back. If your looking to learn and get a good grade take this class
one of the best profs I have ever had.
Professor Kindon, Is a great teacher he made the lecture make sense. Great technology incorporated in lectures. Tests are easy if you study and go to class. Most of the material in the book is gone over in class. So if you pay attenion and take notes in class, you don't have to do much reading.
Kindon rocks... period
This class is tough. There are a good amount of notes and the exams aren't easy at all. He is very helpful though, and wants everyone to do well.

Dr. Andy is an excellent teacher, a great guy, and he deserves all the chili peppers he's gotten.
Instructors don't come any better than Kindon. He makes anthropology easy to understand and takes the time to answer all questions. He doesn't rush and he simply rocks!!
He's the best professor I've had so far. He is very clear and helpful. Tests are not easy, but I came out with a B. He's organized and knowledgeable about the subjest. Also, I never read when I was supposed to, but I recommend that you do because he chooses interesting material. He's an awesome guy all around.
yeah...you dont see any blue or green faces on here for a reason. Dr. Kindon is AMAZINGLY great. Awesome, super, the best.....the list could go on forever. really though, hes a great teacher.
I love Kindon!!!!! he is such a great teacher and will always go out of the way to find the answer to a question he doesn't know the answer to (heh which happend w/ me alot....)
Great teacher and easy course if you're interested. Pay attention and take good notes and you'll do fine.
He is an awesome teacher. He is very clear and easy to understand. The class itself is really interesting so it is easy to want to pay attention. I would recconend this class to anyone who wants a cool class and a great teacher!
Kindon always made clas interesting, and he was VERY helpful when students had questions.
He is a really cool, smart guy who knows what he is talkig about. He does not teach in a bias way and does not bash on views. He just makes you see things from different perspectives.
He makes class really interesting and he makes things really clear. I always got the feeling that he just wants you to embrace Anthro. You can tell he really loves Anthro because he is so passionate when he teaches. He is totally chill and laid back too. Awesome teacher!!

really nice, cool guy. Knows his stuff, excited to teach about it
One of the best teachers I've had at West Valley. Lectures are always interesting and easy to undersstand. There is very little homework, just one big paper. Quizzes and tests are easy if you pay attention and do the reading. He obviously loves the subject and loves teaching.
supper fun class with a cool teacher highly recomend
he is an excellent teacher. he is very clear and helpful. it was my first time taking an anthro class and i got an "A" he is very interesting and good looking ; )
Best teacher at west valley- class is fun and topic is so interesting. He is also very good looking! I got an A in the class- zoo project is fun, too! Of all the classes at west valley, this 1 is the most like the classes i took at a university. He prepares you with the same layout as most academic classes.
Take this guy! He is wonderful and an excellent teacher. Besides, Chimps and evoultion may be boring but Andy compenstates for it by being handsome
Pretty cool guy and very helpful. He makes sure that you understand the material. Overall the class was alright. Very easy to get a "c", but a little hard to get an "A".
hes hellsa cool and the class is a lot of fun to take
Andy is a great guy, knows his stuff. However, too much vocabulary to learn, too many mutliple choice tests. I think if he focused more on writing instead of multiple choice vocab, everyone would find the class EVEN MORE interesting. Textbooks are great.
Cool teacher not a super hard class but definatly not an easy one. Fun project going to the zoo. Good lectures. 4 10 question quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final, and a 10 page research paper. Thats kinda long but overall good class.
This class was very interesting, but challenging. Expect to do all the reading and work hard. You'll get the A if u do the work. TAKE IT!
Interesting, clear, and easy. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK for ANTHRO 1. You will save 70 bucks. I did not open the book once. Go to class and listen to the lecture. Take notes. Easy A
well organized, copy down the powerpoint lectures and study them before the quizzes and midterms and you will come out with an A. Follow his format on the essay by hitting every question and you will get an A on that as well. Kindon rocks!
Dr. K gives the option to donate canned goods to "loan" out the text books (while supplies last) for the semester, which helped a lot! Very tree-hugging vegetarian kinda guy, super fun, has a punk rock band!!! cool, huh? :) Tests are not super easy, so you really need to study and pay attention in class. Group project was really fun to do!!
Great.
Professor Kindon (Andy) is great! He is very clear in his lectures, and is also a very passionate person in the field of physical anthropology. He is a very approachable person, and is understanding of students' situations. I went to every lecture, studied every topic from lecture, and got a high A.
GREAT teacher, fun, sexy as hell
Professor Kindon is amazing! I have taken 3 of his classes and highly recommend him to EVERY1! He gives concrete examples for every possible complex idea, so that everyone can understand it in their own terms. Great guy. Super interesting, down to earth and intelligent. If you go to class, read, and follow his helpful study guide, u will do great!
good looks keep your attendance up =)

I hear Professor Kindon used to be hardline.
the large amount of broad information makes it difficult to study for but he is a good teacher. very nice & funny
I took his class as an honors class and was so encouraged by his teaching style. He's an archaelogist too and has cool and funny stories. I really enjoyed taking his class -- DON'T LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE ON! The midterms are also really basic and allow for some creativity as well. OH Ask him about his band. And he's hot. So hot. It's glorious. Joy!
Classes are easy and lectures simply go over everything in the book - you can get away w/just one of them, although attendance is part of your grade. He makes everything clear. The only negative is he sometimes goes on and on as if lecturing to a group of incompentent folks, which prolongs class and necessitates speeding through certain material.
the class is super easy bc quizzes and tests come out of lectures. research paper is kind of a pain. his lectures are very interesting
I never missed a class. His lectures are so interesting and he always cracks jokes. We had a couple quizes and a midterm/final. As long as you take notes during his lecture you'll get a good grade. I would highly suggest taking his course.
Andy is one of the best teachers I've had in a long time. Attendance is neccessary, but I never thought about missing a class because they're so interesting! Always willing to help, but study hard for the tests!!! I would totally recommend him and take his class again.
Andrew is a very good teacher. a very nice guy all around. Can be a hard grader, almost impossible to get an A unless your as into the subject as he is. But again cool guy.
Great teacher, and he's not bad to look at either. Easy to pass with an A if you show up, take notes, and do the readings(there are a ton). Great guy, and he made me feel at his level with jokes and funny anecdotes.
Andrew is without a doubt one of the best teachers that i have had a west valley. He is soooo interesting....when i transfer he is one of the countless teachers that i will remember...thanks for actually making anthropolgy interesting.
Awesome teacher, easy to understand and keeps class engaged in discussion.
This guy is really awesome (and extremely hot!) He's helpful and makes the class interesting and understandable. Take good notes and pay attention and you should do well in this class. He's one of the best teachers at West Valley!
One of the best teachers at valley. He can talk about his subject for hours and still keep it interesting. Very intelligent. The readings are a must and intense. Also, he is so fine.
Andy is a great guy, very easy to learn form, very funny. Helps you understand the subject, he has tons of experience and he shows it. Very Very cool class, take it and you wont regret it
Well, I have to say that Andrew is an awesome instructor too. Go to class, take notes and you'll do great. Anthropology is cool now.
Mr. Kindon is extremely nice, funny, and not to mention handsome. His class isn't the easiest but he is more than willing to help! He is very nice and his class is quite intresting. Many oportunities for extra credit. There is a 10 page paper that is part of your grade, but he tells you exactly what needs to be on it! making it not so bad!
A very professional, intelligent and nice teacher presenting interesting material. Class was marred somewhat by a dozen or so drooling fangirls who flirted and asked stupid, "notice me" questions to Dr Kindon constantly, but that's not really his fault. He needs to pander to them a little less though; they really slowed up the class.
Great Teacher. Great class. has made me like anthropology. You have to show up to class and take notes. if you do that, youll do fine.
Kindon is a pretty good teacher, he explains exactly what he expects out of you. The class consist of one mindterm, one final, two essay questions quizzes, for his honors section, or 4 multipule choice quizzes for his non-honors class, and one ten page paper. Also dont buy the book for his class, he will rent them out to you for canned food!
This class is a lot of work. Andy is a great teacher, and excellent at lecturing and so so HOT. Ladies get a front row seat.
I really thought anthropology was a bore before taking this class with Kindon. Even though I'm still not in to it, he makes it at least some what interesting. Its a really good class, just show up for the lectures and there's almost no way you'll fail. Plenty of extra credit available as well.
I really enjoyed this class. I will say it was not easy and i was doubtful i'd pass at one point. Andy is so intelligent and more than willing to work with you if you approach him and talk to him. I recommend this class to anyone. Yes he's cute!
I wasn't excited to take this class because I heard it was really hard. After a few weeks in his class, I decided I really liked it. It wasn't an easy class, but it wasn't as difficult as some people say. If you show up to class and really listen to his lectures then you'll do fine.
The best part is he makes the class a friendly place where all students feel comfortable. It is a layed back environment and he is an accepting person willing to help with anything, a great mentor. The class is not an "easy A," you do need to make effort and take notes (lectures pp online) listen carefully, and read over the book, once is enough.
I was very intrested in learning Anthropology, untill I took his course. I think, he doesn' know what he is saying, for I read the books, and I knew, he did not know, what he was talking about. I think his class, was very distracting, for I thought he was such a confussing instructor, that I was not able to learn the information, and so I dropped h
It's been a year since I took anthro 3, and i still remember random facts he taught us, and I'm just an average student. He was very organized and friendly, and kept my attention by relating things to pop culture like Kathleen Hannah from Bikini Kill. Some textbook use is required, but I didn't crack them until finals. Definately recommend!
Very interesting lecturer. Uses lots of good examples and stops to answer questions. It's one of those classes where you can connect the dots by yourself and you end up having small revelations. "OH, so THAT'S why that happens!" It was a lot of fun!
Uses great examples that will stay with you and you get to learn a lot in his class. Great teacher.
Funny, humble, relatable and yet still gets the point across during his lectures. Great sense of style, too. What's not to like?
Amazing Professor! I was not interested in Anthro until I took his class. A must take!
Kindon kicks ass. He just isn't the easiest teacher I have ever had. He believes in grading the class like it is a U.C. class so no one who transfers will have trouble.
Cultural Anthro. One midterm, one final, 4 quizzes. Andy is a really good lecturer but his tests are super hard. His questions are very tricky. This class is not an easy A. Only one person got an A on the midterm. No homework or projects. Attendance is worth points!I personally thought it was boring because i wasn't interested in the subject.
Boring, and quizzes are too hard.
Andy is the best professor I've had.He is passionate about what he teaches and relates to students very well.He is always willing to help if you have questions. If you read the text and pay attention to his lectures you will do well. Don't take his classes if all you're interested in is an easy A, but do take it if you're looking for a great class.
Very hard teacher, but it is well worth it. The tests are crazy hard.
Kindon is the BEST teacher I've ever had. He makes the class interesting and he genuinely cares about all of his students. He's always willing to help and go the extra mile. His classes are not easy, but if you work hard you'll get an A.
A challenging class that definitely need to pay attention in. He assigns a lot of reading but it helps a lot for the final project. If you have any questions, ask. He's super helpful and easy to contact / get a hold of.
TAKE HIS CLASS! You will not regret it! He is extremely engaging and lecture was never boring! DON'T MISS CLASS because you will miss a lot if you do! Even though he posts powerpoint online, his lectures are extremely helpful in doing well!
Physical Anthro. He is an expert on the subject and makes it easy to understand and interesting. Attend EVERY class because his lectures are very very essential, and it isn't an easy class. He is laid-back, helpful, and sometimes funny, but I wouldn't say he is super approachable. He's a good teacher though, I'd definitely recommend him.
AMAZING TEACHER! I took him for Anthro 1,2,&3. Extremely helpful and willing to help whenever you need anything. One of the most enthusiastic and interesting teachers i have had. As long as you go to class, take notes, and do the study guides your set. If i had turned my essay in on time would have gotten an A without ever opening the textbook.
Great professor! Definitely learned a lot from this class. He makes it interesting and goes over things multiple times in different ways so you really absorb it. Paper was fun to do. I got the book but after the first week stopped using b/c his lectures go over everything. He really enjoys teaching and I enjoyed learning from him.
Took all three anthropology classes with him. Love this guy. He is awesome. Just attend class and you're good. Amazing teacher. :-)
Andy is the best! Very smart, clear, and a great guy. Highly recommended
Awesome professor. I only took this course as part of my GE's, and I ended up taking anthro 03 because I enjoyed his classes so much! Nice guy, passionate about his career.
One of the best teachers I've had at WVC! I've taken two classes with Kindon and he's SUCH a good teacher. Super passionate about what he's teaching, and if you just listen to his lectures you'll do fine on tests and quizzes. His tests are mostly based off of his lectures so make sure to come to class.
Super nice guy. Not much homework, but you need to study a ton for the quizzes and tests. This class really killed my GPA. There is a huge project, and he is impossible to please. Fun class, just really hard. It's more like a history class than an anthropology class.
Incredible Teacher. Very passionate about his work and works hard to make sure any questions are answered clearly with helpful information. Andy can ask a lot of you but if you rise to the challenge working with Dr. Kindon can be one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of undergraduate education.
Dr Kindon sets the standard for lecture/discussion based courses. He's passionate about anthro & teaches it in that vein. You MUST do the reading to do well on the exams, & attendece is graded. Do NOT take if you're looking for an easy A.
Andy is one of the best professors you will have in your college career and he has the award to prove it. Taking his class is an amazing opportunity that would not be wise to pass up. His class is not easy, but his passion for the subject will make you want to work hard. Andy is the type of professor that can change your life - if you let him.
The course guide prereqs for this class are basic ENG & READ. Had I known I needed an understanding of Genetics, I most certainly would not have signed up. Found that out during week 2, when too late to drop. Teacher nice, intelligent, but didn't seem to care that many had no idea what he was talking about. Felt like upper level course, not Intro.
Andy is the best teacher at west valley college hands down. He is one of the smartest, most intellectual individuals I have yet to encounter. The class is extremely interesting. The tests are hard so make sure you study. Andy is always willing to help you succeed. You need to take a class with Andrew Kindon!
Very hard, but interesting! He is no joke, but he is amazing to listen too. Be sure to take notes & a LOT of them! He gets off subject, but even make notes about that, because he might test you on it. It helps that he is really hot.
Probably one of the only competent professors West Valley College has to offer. Took both his Cultural and Physical Anthropology classes, and they were not easy. Attend lectures and do the assigned readings. Felt as though this was a college level class, and his knowledge and devotion to the subject matter is clearly evident.
This class requires a lot of listening and attention. Textbook reading is heavily encouraged; I did not do the reading and I took the quizzes and exams wishing I did. However, if you are interested in learning rather than obtaining a passing grade, this class is, in short, amazing.
I took Andy's Anthro 1 and 3H classes. He's the most intelligent professor I've had at West Valley, and he's made me question my own beliefs. I've learned a ton from both his classes, so I would most definitely recommend him. Be prepared for lots of reading and hard test, though, but take him!
Amazing instructor! Down to earth and relatable, but also a genius. Respect him and he'll respect you. Final paper is intense, but do-able. You have to work for the exams, but they're rewardable if you do well. Lectures are fascinating, and he is a great speaker.
Andy Kindon is the best professor I've ever had! He makes the courses very fun and interesting and if you LISTEN and attend you'll do fine. In ANTHRO001, I did not use the textbook once In ANTHRO003, you NEED to read! Are these classes easy A's? No. But, will you learn things about the world and yourself? Yes! Highly recommend any of his classes.
During one semester I had Kindon he was hit by a car and had to cancel some classes. We had to skip a chapter. Kindon did the best he can to come to class and on the quizzes and midterm he gave extra credit on the questions that were never covered in his lectures (with no penalty if you get them wrong). He is a great teacher who loves to help.
Taking Andy's class challenged me to change my worldview and acquire different perspectives. He's always there if you need help and will do anything to help you succeed. Everyone should take advantage of having such an amazing teacher like Andy on campus! His class in short, amazing.
Legitimately one of the BEST teachers I've ever had. (& I went to a decent public high school, did AP classes, etc) He's intelligent, entertaining, and you can tell he actually cares about what he's doing. He's super helpful in office hours and his class is easy--not stupidly easy, but not stupidly hard. Hate school in general but loved this class.
Words can not describe how much I love this human being. He is not just the best teacher ever, he's just a great person!! Hands down best teacher I have ever had here in west valley. Love him so much he's just great. If you're ever gonna take anthro, don't even doubt for a second to take it with him.
Intro to Physical Anthropology is not a bird course but it is very passable if you go and pay attention. There is one long paper, but it is designed to boost the grade and he is very specific with what he wants from it. If you are a decent student you will get a passing grade in his class. Very interesting guy as well.
Andy is a powerful and attractive professor. He expects and helps any time. I sent him the byme-prepared exam topics 2 days before exam and he corrected it to me. Take part on lecture as he mainly repeat the necessary infos that you do not find in the books. 2 tests, a project and lot of quizzez. Most interesting class ever, honest rural person...
He is a great teacher, but his class can be quite challenging because of the workload. Don't get me wrong, the class is very interesting, but by the end of the semester I felt a little overwhelmed, so if you're taking this class to fulfill a science pre-requisite be warned - it's hard work. On the whole though, a really interesting class!
Professor Andy is great. His lectures are interesting and I always learn something in his class. If you show up and really pay attention you'll do well.
Kindon is the best teacher I've had at West Valley! His lectures are long, but so interesting. If you miss his class just go to his office hours to get help. You don't need the text book to pass. He gives 4 short quizzes, midterm, final and one long paper. The paper is time consuming, but very easy. Study for the exams and go to the classes!
Professor Kindon is so nice and very passionate about what he is teaching! but he is a really tough grader. I have straight A's and I studied really hard, and I literally got one point over what I needed to get an A. His questions can be very subjective and confusing. If you want an A, be prepared for a lot of studying.
I dont even know how to express my love for this teacher. he's one of the most amazing people i have ever seen let alone definitely the best teacher hands down. I have taken 2 of his classes and I would gladly take both again. he is as helpful as a teacher can ever get and his lectures are amazing. you will learn a lot and he doesnt surprise you.
Amazing professor, would take again. Lectures are interesting and there is a lot of reading. 4 quizzes, a midterm, final, and term paper. Tough but interesting.
Great time in the classroom. Be punctual, be prepared, be good, or be gone. Tough class but it is not impossible to do well. I took advantage of office hours and tutorial center which I thank for helping me perform better than I can on my own. Excellent teacher and excellent class.
Great Professor. Best I've had to be honest. Lecture are extremely interesting, really changed my perspective/view of the world. Not an easy class but he presents the material in such a way that if you listen to his lectures, you will achieve an understanding of the subject. Make sure to turn in your paper on time!
Although the class is mainly lecture it is very interesting and he really engages his students. Attend class so you don't miss anything. 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final and 1 paper. Study and you will pass, though final is more challenging than midterm. Offers feedback on paper drafts. Lots of extra credit opportunities. He's pretty easy going.
Professor Kindon's cultural anthropology class challenged, shifted, and expanded my world view, so much that months later I'm still thinking about the concepts and applying them to what I encounter in real life. He is genuinely passionate about the material and will gladly answer any questions. I wasnt ever bored during a lecture. Would take again!
Andy is amazing on multiple levels. He changed my world perspective without pushing biases or being political which is challenging. 4 quizzes, mid and final, large paper at the end. Available outside of class. Always willing to help.I didn't read the book bc book was stolen, but i never missed a class he says all the answers in class.
Really enjoyed his lectures! It's clear that he is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject. He makes an effort to explain things clearly and tries to help you whenever you need it. An all around cool guy and great teacher. His class is lecture heavy and attendance is graded so if you plan on ditching class your grade will slip for sure.
A really funny and interesting guy. Shares life stories that illustrate lecture point. Lectures cover all the material you need to pass the tests, the textbooks are only for extra/the research paper. Lots and lots of quizzes, and really knows how to make a test that's not too easy but not evil. Clearly enjoys his subject and likes teaching it.
Mr. Kindon is an amazing lecturer. You don't need the textbook at all. His lectures are so informative and I would love to take more classes from him. If you are considering taking him, do it. He's great.
This instructor deserve an award for being the best teacher of the year. He's very helpful, he loves his job, he's flexible and he's very kind. His grading criteria are very clear, nothing changes. Do your daily reading just like he assigns in class, and you'll pass. Be in class, ask questions and for help if you need it.
Great teacher! Super funny and engaging as a lecturer. Classes are completely lecture based. Only a Midterm and Final plus 4 10 multiple choice question quizzes and a paper. Lectures sometimes go off track. I'm not a huge science person and this class made it definitely more interesting! Offers extra credit. Tests are somewhat hard
Mr. Kindon is one of the better professors at WVC. He really does well at making a subject matter that a lot of us just don't care about a little more interesting. But his best attribute would be that he really does look out for you. If you can keep up on your reading and do well on the quizzes I'd recommend this class.
His lecture was almost perfect. His lectures helped me to understand mankind.
Amazing Professor. One of the most caring and nicest professors that I have ever taken. I recommend him to anyone who wants to take him. He is very nice and informative. His lectures are great and give you a great structure for his midterms and final. He is seriously an amazing professor!! I wish more professors were like him!
Anthro 3H is my first honors and so far favorite class at WVC and it's the best start for the honors program! Andy was super caring and helpful even during the transition to the online format. Listening to lectures and taking notes will get you good grades on the quizzes and exams! You'll have a research paper at the end for honors.
Second class with Andy. Much of the same as last time. Very lecture-heavy, but he's a good lecturer and I found the material interesting. I'd suggest paying attention in class versus trying to study after. He always hints at what's important, though he's prone to spending too much time on a slide. In all, he's a solid teacher that I'd recommend.
Andy is one of the best professors I've had. I am studying to teach myself and his style is so engaging that I've learned much from him outside of the course material. Read your syllabus, he gives you as clear path for getting a good grade and there is ample opportunity for extra credit. Come to class and no due dates will ever sneak up on you.
SUCH A GREAT PROFESSOR. TAKE HIM. His lectures are fun and engaging. He explains topics so well that I would remember most of the content for tests and quizzes from his many examples and explanations. He is very nice and approachable if you need any help. He does not grade harshly and his study guides reflect his tests/quizzes PERFECTLY.
Andy is a gem of a professor. You can easily tell he cares about his students and job, and he makes lecture concepts memorable and quite simple to understand. There is a fair amount of reading, but he makes class engaging and fun! He doesnt give you busy work, but pay attention to his lectures and you will do well on exams. I HIGHLY recommend him.
He is such a great professor. He is very passionate about his field and it really shows and it excites his students too. He is also hilarious and his lectures are so interesting and he is so animated during them. He makes everything seem so interesting. His grading is very straight forward and he really sets you up to succeed and enjoy the course.
He has some really fun lectures and explains everything in detail so you know better for the quizzes. Most of the time you are just watching his lectures and taking notes and preparing for quizzes which are every few weeks and one research paper which is due end of the semester. Overall really fun and simple class highly recommend taking him
Professor Kindon has been a pleasure to learn from. Since this was an online class, it was mostly watching lectures, participating in discussion forums, taking tests, and writing a research paper. I bet this class would be even better in person. Professor Kindon is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and passionate. I'd absolutely recommend taking his class
Easily one of the best classes/professors I've ever taken! The lectures & material were fascinating, explained well, and contained relevant and important content. I enjoyed and learned so much from this class and it expanded my world view and thinking. The workload was light and the class was straightforward. It was a privilege to take this class.
Took him in spring of 2020. Science is at the opposite spectrum of my studies, but he made what was a GE class, an absolute blast! Easily one of the best Professors I've had here at WV. Super cool, very concise and informative lectures. Great sense of humor and made the switch from in-person to online as smooth as possible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Kindon is by far one of the best teachers in West Valley College. He gives good lectures that cover everything that will be in the quizzes and exams. I appreciate a teacher who is passionate about the subject they teach but is also able to share that information. I have learned so much from his class. Just be sure to take notes and pay attention.
Honestly one of the best professors Ive ever had and potentially the best classes Ive ever taken before. So open minded and makes each lecture so interesting and informative.
Andy is awesome! If you have the option to take this class, DO IT!!! The quizzes and exams are based on the lectures, so take good notes and pay close attention. The lectures are super interesting and he does a great job making it fun to learn. A lot more work than I expected to, but SO WORTH IT. Also, the research paper is fun and fairly graded:)
I took his online class and I believe it is now in person. He is pretty lecture heavy, so take good notes, but he's very engaging. There's a required text book, it can be found pretty cheap & the reading covers a lot of what is covered in the lecture. As a teacher he is very casual and respectful. Probably one of the best teachers at WV.
Dr. Kindon was one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures were very interesting and he's clear about instructions for papers and tests. Basically all of the information you need for tests and quizzes are from the lectures, so take good notes. The grades in the class are only made up of quizzes, tests, and essays, also extra credit.
Super chill professor, will show you the "real college experience" without being cold or rude towards students. Required textbook is covered in class, but I recommend reading the ethnographies. Extra credit opportunities are given, and if you are struggling he really emphasizes that he will do whatever he can to make this class less stressful.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Absolutely best proffessor I have ever had. Make sure to attend lecture and take good notes. Very chill honors course, fair grader. Midterm and Final are both 25% of your final grade. The end of year research paper is 30%. Send him your paper before you turn it in. He is super accessible and will help you in any way he can!
I attended community college and a 4 year college, and he is seriously the best professor/teacher I ever had. He is very knowledgable and understanding and although the classes were lecture heavy, they were never boring. I'd say his teaching style is very detailed, engaging, and inspirational. Highly recommend taking his classes!
Amazingly enthusiastic professor with a lot of personal experience in his field. Happily welcomes questions and makes class materials as accessible as possible. Exams are reasonably difficult to show where your weak points are for improvement. One of the most understanding and hilarious professors I've ever had. Absolutely outstanding.
As a humanities major, I must recommend Dr. Kindon as a must take if you go to West Valley. He takes every opportunity to make his classes more intuitive and attainable, and really genuinely cares for his students. I have taken intro to cultural and intro to physical anthropology with him and both were excellent classes.
Andy is easily the best professor I've ever had. I learned so much from taking his class and enjoyed all his lectures. I took this class for transfer/ GE credits, but I would recommend it to anyone. He will go out of his way to help his students succeed and I haven't had very many professors like that.
Excellent professor, difficult content. Professor Kindon truly cares for his students and makes lectures fun and interesting. However, beware of a LOT of quizzes/exams and few assignments other than a 10 page research paper. If you go the extra mile, you can easily achieve an A. I'm just not a fan of anthropology which wasn't the professor's fault.
I enjoyed Mr. Kindons lectures a lot, very thoughtful when it comes to asking about class. Excellent listener and you can genuinely tell he wants everyone in the class to pass. Always smiles and listens to students. Definitely take his classes but make sure you read and work on the midterm study guide from day 1.
Andy was a really good professor for my fall semester! He shows care throughout what he teaches you and is easy to understand. Go to his lectures as much as you can since they go through the main parts of what you need to know. Reading books in this class will guarantee a higher grade
Tests are worth a lot but if you come to every class and take thorough notes, getting an A is viable. The professor is very caring and willing to help out. The extra credit helps quite a bit and is very easy so definitely do that. If you put in the time and effort, you will succeed in the class.
Andy is the best teacher I've had! he makes the lectures fun and interesting, always willing to talk to you and explain things after class, very caring and understanding. I'm going to be adding an AA in Anthropology just to take more of his classes. Such a great teacher!
Andy is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He knows so much about archaeology and every conversation with him was amazing. Be sure to take good notes and prepare for quizzes and tests. There is also a paper! I HIGHLY recommend Andy!!!
I wish I could select more tags for this professor. Andy will support you in every way and deliver a remarkable education experience. I have learned so much through this cultural class and it teaches you many integral parts of being human in a social context. Very accommodating with grade and tests, and his tests/quizzes are the perfectly balanced.
Archaeology is Dr. Kindon's specialty, and it shows through his informative lectures. You will learn a lot in this class. Dr. Kindon (or Andy) is extremely accommodating and kind and will refer to you are your desired name even. He is also available for office hours and is easy to talk to. Make sure to study past quizzes for the final/midterm.
Dr. Kindon cares for his students, and his learning environment fosters deeper understanding of the bio-anthro material. His grading policies are the same for his other classes (drops lowest quiz grade etc.) Amazing at teaching, there is reading involved but not too much. Quizlet helps studying for midterms, as well as reviewing past quiz scores.
One of my favorite professors ever. He was so kind and accommodating to me when I was going through loss and a rough semester. I have reasonable extensions on assignments as an accommodation from the DESP and he gave me a lot of time and checked in with me throughout to see how I was doing. Super down to earth and kind. Would 100% recommend
Professor Kindon's lectures are interesting and fun. However, the class is not an easy A. It contains 1 test, 1 final, 4 quizzes, and a large paper. If you put work in the class, you will get a good grade! Overall, enjoyed this class and highly recommend! There were also 10 points of extra credit offered :)
!THE GOAT!!
Professor Kindon is amazing - he makes the material engaging and is super accommodating. Attendance is mandatory but worth it to learn a lot. Quizzes and exams are tough, but unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for prep.
Kindon is a wonderful professor. Class is made up of 4 quizzes, midterm, final, and a research paper. The tests are easy if you pay attention to the lectures. He even provides a study guide with exactly what will be on them. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE RESEARCH PAPER. He provides lots of extra credit opportunities. Would 100% recommend him.
Andie has never failed at being what you want from an Anthropology professor. He is deeply respectful of his student's different backgrounds. I have taken all of his classes and would take them again. Andie is an example of a middle-aged man who knew how he wanted to make the world a better place and did so, he is emotionally stable and kind.
Prof. Kindon is the best professor I have ever had (even after transferring to UCSB). His lectures were something I actually looked forward to because they were incredibly engaging. He displays a deep love for teaching and a sharp expertise in Anthropology that rubs off on the class. He is also just a cool guy who has done cool stuff in his field.
His classes are only lectures and quizzes, it just so happens that these will likely be the most entertaining, interesting, and informative lectures you will ever have. The large paper is the hardest part of the class, as they will be 8 - 11 pages long, though it actually is not that bad, just write, write, write. Overall sweet man.
I took all three of Andy's classes, and they were all well structured and very interesting. Physical Anthro, although his hardest class, taught and inspired me (As an Anthropology major) so much. My advice would be to attend every lecture, and listen carefully!
(Taken for Spring 2025, but you need to know) Class is all and only lectures, but there are some of the best ones you'll ever have. Makes you want to learn subject material yourself. Kind and charismatic. Guidelines are crystal clear, with multiple reminders, 8-10 pg paper about primates, but it's not bad, please take his classes if you can!
