this teacher sure can talk things to confusion, he is very particular that you show every step even if it was obvious. his professionlism is grossly lacking
Very kindly with his students, likes to spend time in helping students.
He is awsome i was going to drop his class because i didnt know how to even do the review but i stuck it out and ended up getting an A. Mr.Mckintosh if you read this you know who i am!!! thank you for being awsome!
good understanding of teacher
Mr. Mckintosh was a great teacher. His teaching style is easy to comprehend the material. Overall he is a great teacher.
Well organized class... Very clear and well presented information
He is a very good teacher and I loved the way he figures the grades for the class. Its in the best intrest for the students!
Mr. Macintosh is an excellent teacher who presents the material with clarity, respects his students, always starts on time and is never absent, and grades fairly. He sets up his grading method so its possible to redeem yourself from previous tests on the final exam.
IF you want to learn precal, this is the professor to take. He always starts the class on time and presents the material very clear. Some advice if you are going take his class. DO THE HOMEWORK. It really does help. Also do the review for the test at least twice. If you do that, you will pass.
One of the best instructors GCC has. He can be intimidating to some because he has a tough exterior but he offers to help. You have to keep up with the homework otherwise he has no sympathy for you because he can sense your effort with questions you ask. I would take him for MAT 212 if he ever taught it.
I Would Highly Recommend Mr. McKintosh To Any Student That'll Be Taking MAT 150, He Simply Teaches In The Easiest Way For A Better Understanding!
Put in a little time and its an easy B or better
Doesn't allow use of calculator on tests, but problems are limited to those that can be done without a calculator. Tests are 10 problems in 40 minutes(4 minutes per problem) so you must be very proficient at each problem tested. Takes off points for even the most insignificant "mistakes", even technicalities. Nearly impossible to earn an A.
He is one of the worst math instructors that attempt to teach. Out of 23 students, 14 didn’t get a C or better. He has no mercy when grading. You make a small mistake in the beginning of a problem, he will take at least four out of five points off. He is also very rude and unenthusiastic. I would not recommend him for calculus!
He is an awesome instructer and presents math in a way that is easy to comprehend as long as you have time to do the work and study hard. This semester's calc class mostly did not pass due to lack of effort put forth, not because of his teaching style. I would definately take any of his other classes in the future if I needed them.
OK class. One person got an A I got a B. Final exam included questions from left field outta no where.
Excellent teacher! However, challenges class by not allowing calculators of any kind on test but keeps the numbers on the test easy to calculated without a calculator. Also the practice problems are not graded but are must in order to succeed in the class. Just do the homework and the spiral assignments and you'll do great in this class.
Very organized teaching style. Do the homework and spirals and study for the tests and you will do good. The test reviews are practically identical to the tests. Great teacher. Take him and you will learn a lot!
The only reason I passed this course was because another teacher taught me the material one-on-one. McKintosh is a very unreasonable grader and he is very arrogant. The irony is that he makes more mistakes on the board in class than all of his students combined. I was really looking forward to this course. I regret having had him as a teacher.
Was very clear and was able to get his message across w/o being confusing.
felt like i was discriminated becuase i would be one to two minutes late for class, and would be counted absent.sometimes, i was on time but he had takin role and still counted me absent!i think he used it as an excuse to slam me on simple mistakes!
Explains things very well and makes the material easy to understand.
When in a college course, an instructor should not treat his students like a group of 6th graders.
A great teacher who really knows his math and will take the time to explain things properly.
He is really a helpful teacher!
Never had a math teacher that was as prepared and organised as this guy. Most of you taking calc will be moving on to a higher level. This guy is just what you need to make sure you really understand the material. He takes no shortcuts. Best math teacher I have ever had.
Assigned homework daily but not collected, weekly quizzes given, calulator can be used on tests, it's hard to earn an A in his class but he's a great professor. one of the best Math professor that I've ever had.
He is very knowlegable about his stuff, His grading methods are the best so far that I have herd of. it is easy to get lost so have to pay attention! you get asinged homework,a quoz each weak, and a final that covers alot.but you do learn if you do your homework.now he is not easy but you can learn alot. Now i was failing, but with the final i passed
Very knowledgeable about calculus but moves very fast. If you do not do all the homework and final exam reviews throughout the semester, do not expect to get an A or even a B. I had a B prior to taking the final and I felt confident going into the test, but left almost in tears because of the level of difficulty. Study your butt off.
very knowledgeable but if you don't do the homework, its hard to keep up...but he can answer any question you throw at him...plus he sounds like chef Gordon ramsey from hell's kitchen and kitchen nightmares
Great teacher. He breaks everything down so you not only know how to do a problem but why it is done that way
A great Calculus teacher. I highly recommend him as he makes the material very easy to understand and is always ready to help students with questions in class, the math solution center, or in his office. His class is very structured and he follows his syllabus very well. If you go to all the classes and do the homework an A is easily acheivable.
GREAT CALCULUS TEACHER! Very willing to help students who want to succeed and makes things understandable. Must keep up with the class by doing homework and final review throughout semester. No question is a bad one for this teacher. I would definitely recommend this teacher to all!!!
Amazing Calculus teacher!! If you are having trouble he is there to help you in a second. Knows what he is talking about and very friendly!! Beware his final was hard, so make sure you study!! But other than that, weekly quizes are a great idea and everything he goes over, he gives great examples!!
he's a great teacher. it's hard to earn an A in his class, explains concepts and materials very well. FINAL EXAMS IS HARD! You definately need to Do the Final REVIEWS and homeworks assigned throughout the semester or you wont do well in his class!!!!
He is a great calculus teacher. I highly recommend him. You HAVE to do the homework in order to survive in his class. The weekly quizzes are fair but just make sure to study your homework problems. If you are having problems make sure that you ASK and he will help you!
VERY helpful! he has a great sense of humor also :)
Very good at expliaining material
he is really nice and he takes things slow. He explains things very well.
He's a great teacher but you absolutely HAVE to do the homework in order to do well in this class. All his quiz problems are exactly the same one's he assigns for homework. At least for his Calc class it was like that. Make sure you do the Final Exam Reviews as well. They will prove to be very beneficial when it comes to the end of the semester
Not an easy class, but Andrew McKintosh is a good teacher and can teach math well. I'd give him a 5/5 or 10/10.
Great calculus teacher, if you want an A you will have to put in tons of effort into this class.
The instructor's experience in teaching really showed. The material was presented very well, which made it easy to learn.
Great teacher, keep everything fresh in you mind with review after every chapter and weekly quizes....answer all your question and is available then you need him...not just during office hours
Professor enjoys what he does and is open for any help. Exams are easy as long as you do the homework and ask questions if needed.
He is a lot fun! very passion about what he does and his funny .hehe. extremely recommand him to anyone . his class is super easy. ( mat120)
There is no reason for an instructor to make a subject so painfully difficult or nearly impossible to pass. The stress level he creates is very high. The subject could be taught in a much friendlier environment, and still be accomplished.
Best math teacher I've ever had. I loved how organized he was. You can tell he definitely cares about the students who want to try. This class is way easy as long as you don't slack off. *And you got to love the austrailian accent!
Good layout of the material, things are just as he says, so if you take notes and listen to what he says about the quizes and put in the effort (home work)its not hard to get an A, if I can do it, so can you!
Best math teacher ever. Ever. Makes calculus seem as easy as spelling your own name.
He is a wonderful math teacher. He really explaines everything good and really tries hard so that everyone understands. I strongly recommend him as a teacher. Also, as long as you come to class, do your hw, reviews, and study you will A's the class.
he was an okay teacher, sometimes he was a bit hard, but overall i liked his teaching style
A+ teacher, you must do tones of homework problems in order to pass. He's so cool, if you're planning to take Calc 220, take it with him.
This instructor made learning the material easy. He used different colors on the white board to help the students follow along with the lesson. I would strongly recommend this instructor.
I would not recommend this teacher. He is abrasive and arrogant. I'm assuming the people that gave him high ratings never had an interaction with him outside of just sitting in the classroom. I've never had academic anxiety before, but had knots in my stomach just walking into his classroom.
Awesome teacher! He makes it easy to understand and is willing to help extra outside of class if you need it. He also proved almost every theorem he taught in class which helped me understand like you wouldn't believe. I would recommend him to anyone who is willing to learn math.
the best math teacher at GCC!!!! Explains everything in great detail. Calculus is hard but he makes it easy to understand. He's such a cool and awesome teacher. I highly recommend him for MAT220
Attendance is STRICT, if your not there before attendance is done your treated like the people who ditch. Showing up two minutes late = marked absent and no hw points. Even if he hasn't put the notes up yet. Other than the attendance thing he is a really good teacher. Somewhat long winded with explanation but it ends up helping.
Mat142: Teacher was good, & Im not a fan of math. You must be on time or else you get a 0 for for being there & cant turn homework in. If you miss a quiz/test you cant make it up. On tests you can use a 3by5 in. note card front & back & write anything you'd like. There are only 2 tests & no final! Overall it was a good class, not too difficult.
Very Strict, but fair.Kind of a military sort of personality with crew cut and all, all he's missing are the handcuffs however somehow I don't think I'd mind if he used them on me, hehe. He is smart and you get to learn stuff you'd use in the real world, suggestions for him would be to tone down the attitude just a tad, otherwise I recommend the hun
Professor McKintosh is a very good teacher. He is strict as far as attendance goes so if you don't like to attend class don't take it. If you are a responsible student and want your money's worth then take his class because i guarantee you will learn something. He is very helpful and answers any questions that you may have. Overall great class!
Mr. McKintosh's class is great, he is a very good teacher and knows his subject, he is very rigid on his attendance policy so be on time if not don't bother coming to class. Homework is assigned daily which i liked..overall good class and great teacher.
He was a great teacher! I am so not a math person, very right brained and he made this class very easy for me. He is very strict about his attendence policy, it counts for 20% of your grade, he requires homework to be done every night, 20% of your grade but overall i really enjoyed the class. I got an A in the class which is unthinkable for me lo
Need 2 be there EVERY day ON TIME & do HOMEWORK for POINTS. Tests are similar to notes. Willing to clarify for EVERYONE. Overall, GREAT teacher & easy on eyes. Slight South African accent but easy to understand. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone. Willing to work w/ you. Didn't have 2 buy expensive book/calc - use preprinted notes from web.
Professor McKintosh is a great teacher. He answers all questions in a simple way. His class was very interesting and easy to understand. You have to be there everyday on time in order to get full attendance points. homework is assigned every night and you get points for attempting the problems. this was a great class!
Mr.Mackintosh was very helpful in this calss. He explained everything very clearly and was very helpful in answering questions. I really liked how he let us use the note cards to help us on the test.
I learned alot from this teacher, he explains processes in great detail for everyone to understand. Do stick to his classroom rules, he only has YOUR best interest in mind...no disruptions so that people may focus and not lose concentration and the other rules are for your benefit as well to help your grade....TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR!
Great Instructor with great teaching techiniques that force the students to be responsible for the grade they recieve while being as helpful as possible in his part.
Good teacher, but not the friendliest person in the world. Very British and extremely anal about attendance, homework (turned in at exactly the right second or not at all). Overall I hated the class material itself because it was like a review of 5th grade math but he did a decent job of teaching it, explaining & answering questions.
His class was pretty hard, he goes really fast, I'm the type of person where you gotta explain to me over and over again until i get it. And his class he went fast but as long as you pass his tests you should be good.
He wasn't any help at all
Instructor knows the material to a tee. One just has to go every class period and do the homework and the passing grade is almost guaranteed
Mr.Mckintosh is a pretty decent teacher. Very strict, moves extremely fast through the material. I would not recommend it to anyone who doesnt know the basics of the class they are taking. He is sort of unapproachable and intimidating. Very very difficult teacher, but I guess if you survive, you do learn something.
BEST math teacher I have ever had
Good teachers! gets to the point and definitely knows what he is talking about!
very good teacher tough like a good British. if you whant to be an elite student go for him. other wise if you do not like tough difficult teachers go for some one else
OK so his class is hard. You have to have prior knowledge before taking his class. He goes extremely fast, Do your homework in order to pass. He gives 5 tests and a final thats all your grades are based of off. I didn't pass. Most students just dropped out. The class started with 33 students by the end there was only 15 left. don't take this class.
Easy class. I took 142 over the summer so it was fast paced but it's impossible to fall behind. Have to attend every day to keep up. Homework every night but he just wants to see that you attempted it. I am so not a math person and I got an A. He makes it difficult to fail, ha. Take 142 with McKintosh! He was insensitive when my gpa passed away tho
needs to care more about his students. AND not take attendance before the class BEGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. McKintosh is a great professor and gives out very clear notes. He goes through everything step by step and requires all the students to do homework. I got a lot out of this class. I can tell that he wants all of his students to succeed even if he seems strict.
Amazing teacher and hilarious! I wish I had more math classes to take and I have always HATED math.
This class is quite difficult due to the fact that your grade is only based on your chpt. test and final. However the clearity of his notes are great. He shows step by sstep solutions and stops for questions. Overall his class is great you just have to make sure that you are willing to dedicate a lot of time to studying for test.
Work hard, do what he says, and you will have success in his class. He is a great teacher and gives you all the tools needed to succeed.
McKintosh is awesome! Precalc is not.. DO THE HOMEWORK & REVIEWS WHEN HE TELLS YOU TO! There is NO way to make it through this class without spending the time to study. He's very helpful and able to actually teach you what you need to learn so you actually understand the math for once. He seems intimidating; don't let that fool you.
He is a great teacher!!! He explains every step in detail so the concept it understood.
He is a great teacher!!! He explains every step in detail so the concept is understood.
A little momotoned, but he is very easy to understand. He will help with any problems when needed
Very easy to understand, made math simple and clear.
Very clear as long as you do the homework and make sure to ask question when you don't understand you will do fine.
He is probably the best math teacher I have had. He is very very clear and thorough! He is willing to help, you just have to take the initiative to get it! Make sure you do the homework or you wont do well on tests and he can tell who does! I am definitely going to ask for him when I take other classes! Highly recommmended :)
He is a very good teacher. I have never had a professor that could explain trig or algebra so clearly. However, that doesn't mean his class is easy. It will take a lot of work to get a passing grade. You will have to do homework every single night and study hard for his tests. If you don't ask questions in class he will assume you understand it per
He is the BEST math teacher I have ever had. I have always considered myself to be terrible at math, but he made it so simple with such clear lectures and notes that there's no way you can fail unless you don't put the work into it. After failing several times I ended up with a B in his class! I HIGHLY recommend him.
great math teacher!! very helpful, ALWAYS willing to give you his time for some tutoring (just ask).i recommend any calc student to take his class. also, his website is EXTREMELY helpful. Mckintosh is one of the most recourse friendly math teachers is have met. But this class is not easy!! study, work hard and you will understand.
Do the homeowrk
He explained the processes clearly and precisely. He kept the material relevant by showing where formulas came from, and why they work. The material was way easier to understand because he presented it in a logical flowing order. I would recommend this teacher to anyone.
Great Prof! Teaches very clearly a and will anwser any questions. Alot of homework, but if you put in the effort you can get a good grade. Really stives for his students best intrest by providing one on one tutoring and multiple resources to take advantage of. Will be taking this prof. for calc! Highly recommend to anyone!Bravo!!
Very good teacher. DO THE HOMEWORK AND YOU WILL PASS FOR SURE.If you are not good at math his straight forward and wonderful teaching will get you through it with a C at the least. If you do the homework and Final exam reviews. You can get an A. You earn the grade in his class. He does what he needs to.
Very good teacher! Learned a lot in his class. Easy to understand alegbra if you pay attention. I reccomend him to anyone who needs to take a math class.
He was very helpful and Easy to understand! Answered Question's very well and was a very good teacher. Do the Homework and you will pass. He was an awesome and cool professor. Highly recommend!!
very clear and helpful instructor. attend class and you will understand the material
This Professor was awesome! One of the best I've had. He's very helpful and he makes everything easy to understand. I highly recommended him!
Excellent math teacher. He is very clear, concise, and organized. Precalculus was a hard subject but he made it seem a lot easier when he introduced new intimidating concepts. Very helpful too. Just do your share of work and you will get the grade you want. Highly recommended teacher for other students.
One of the BEST teachers out there! Clear and consise! Will help with ANY thing! Highest recomendatios!
Although the instructor clarifies what he teaches, his way of grading the students is horrible. 70% is based off our tests. He should also count points for the homework assignments. it's difficult to get our grades up when he only counts the test scores. Overall, he's not too shabby.
he is one of the best math Professor in the school
Great control of the class room. He is an awesome prof.
He's a great teacher! Grades are based on tests, but he gives a study guide with what each question consists of and has a review day before each test to ask about any problem. He is very clear when teaching his lessons. I would recommend him to anyone! I don't really like math and I got an A in his class, which was a miracle! Overall great teacher!
Big thumbs up to him for not buying a textbook for the class. He gave us the homework online through his webpage. But as for the overall quality, he is one of the best I had. Very clear on what he teaches.
Amazing Teacher. As long as you do the homework/studying he assigns you will get it. He doesn't even grade the home work it is all for you benefit! Crystal clear and is more than happy to help you with any problems you may have. Will go over home work problems with the class if you have anyone has any issues with it! Highly recommend this teacher!
Good teachder, the test are hard but he teaches with colors and different things that are very helpful.
He is very hard but is an excellent teacher who is very helpful! He uses colors so you can have a visual of what he is explaining and answers any questions you have. If you dont understand what he is explaining he will try to explain it in a different way. I highly recommend him!
awesome teacher one of the best at gcc
Great teacher! Some may say he is a hard teacher, but he gives you plenty tools to succeed. His lecture is clear and gives great notes. Gives study guides for each test so u know exactly what will be on the following test. I highly recommend this professor to anyone!
I was very impressed with this teacher and how he ran the class. He obviously knows what he is doing and was very organized in how he did EVERYTHING. I had to drive 30 minutes each way to attend this and only this class at GCC and it was definately worth it. i know what i was taught in the last few months i will be using throughout my career.thanks
Outstanding Instructor!!!!
He is very through with each material he is covering. He seems hard but that's exactly how each teacher should be. His standards helped improve me to set higher standards for myself. I highly recommend him to anyone.
I failed this class twice before this teacher is amazing and I would definitely take him again. I got a B and for me math is extremely difficult but this teacher made it easy to understand :)
really good teacher, makes everything clear and easy to understand =]
This teacher is by far the best math teacher I have had. I have taken math for the last three semesters and really liked the two before, but Mr. M. is so thorough and precise in what he teaches and he makes sure that everyone understands what he is explaining. He is a little pompous though, but not too bad.
I was very impressed with how detailed and organized the lessons were.
i love the way he teaches, i want him as my calculus teacher
BEST MATH TEACHER IVE EVER HAD
One of the best instructors I have ever come across. He is very clear, extremely organized and very helpful. Grades are based on exams and quizzes. Quizzes are similar to homework(at least it was in Fall 11)so do your homework and take good notes. Tough class, great teacher- highly recommended (taking calc 220 with him next semester).
Mr. McKintosh is a very helpful, albeit very demanding, teacher. He teaches with many examples and is willing to assist you with any problem you need help with. There is no 'official' homework he hands out, but if you don't practice then you WILL do badly on the tests, and this is coming from a 2-year Calculus student.
Professor McKintosh is awesome. He is very engaging in class, has a great sense of humor and knows how to keep your attention. He goes the extra mile in being modern and up to date. All course materials are online on his website. He requires no textbooks.Great teacher if your willing to work hard. Loved this teacher and the class!
I would not recommend this class. He grades based off of pop quizzes and test. No homework grades to help balance the quizzes/tests. Take home final that is extremely hard and not worth having the take home aspect. States in syllabubs that minimum of 10 hrs per week is expected outside of class for at least a C. Doesn't let you use a calculator
He was a good teacher, but if you dont have the time to study or do the homework, then this class is not for you, grades using pop quizes and tests.the take home test were not as easy as the inclass tests, it caused the students to really know the material if they did not they didn'tdo very well in class.some of my class mates found him intimdating
He is a great teacher is you attend class and take great notes.
OMG! this instructor is the worest one i have ever experienced at GCC main compus! attendence is mandetory if call roll for the attendence and the student was late like 2 min he consider him/her absent that day! exams are all 50min long and the exams's questions are long! NEVER TAKE HIS COURSES!
Although I didn't earn an A like I wanted to, I still feel this instructor is by far the best I have ever had! He doesn't like it if you walk into class late or text in class...I guess that's not too much to ask. I would highly recommend this instructor to any student who is not afraid of a challenge and is willing to work hard.
I was extremely intimidated upon entering this class. I do my homework and receive A's on test day because of it. This instructor is great at presenting the information. Overall by far and beyond best math instructor I have come across
I enjoyed the class very much! Definitely love the fact the all the homework was online and no textbook has to be purchased. Always gave us great notes, and overall he is a great professor!
Excellent instructor- explains difficult concepts really well, is extremely organized and very detail oriented. No text book required, homework doesn't count towards your grade but if you do your homework you'll do well. He posts step by step solutions to homework problems and has supplemental instruction material linked to his site.
Great Professor!!Does a great job of explaining the concepts, followed by showing many examples.Textbooks not required, which is awesome! He has homework assignments online which are not required but great practice for exams. As well as good reference math videos.Do your homework and pay attention and you'll be just fine!
His teaching is very clear and easy to understand, and he doesn't waste your time. If you pay attention and do the homework, you can easily get an A. However, homework does not count towards your grade, only test scores (so if you test poorly, this is not a good class for you). Overall, he is a great instructor.
Good teacher. Not too much time in class to ask questions on homework.
This is good class for someone that needs a teacher to go step by step and explain how things are done.
i enjoyed this proffesor and class
one of the best teachers ive had
Amazing teacher! Math is my most difficult subject and he really made everything easy to understand. The summer course is much more intense, so try not to miss any days. I missed 3 and had a hard time catching up. However the online help sites that were provided helped very much!
Prior to this class I thought I would struggle, especially because the summe course was so condensed. But McKintosh made difficult concepts very clear to understand. He had Kindof an odd personality, dry sense of humor. But stil enjoyable. Made a 3hr class go by with ease.Excellent teacher, and you will learn alot if you show up, and do the homework.
Before I took this class I was stressing about how hard it would be since it was a five week course, but it ended up being a fairly easy course because of the teacher. He was very helpful in explaining every concept and was very thorough. Because of him, this was my first A in math for 8 years!
I was very worried about taking precalc because it had been a few years since I had done any type of math. But he made it very easy! He explained everything so well and if someone in the class didn't understand then he would break it down. He doesn't require a book, but I did all of the homework he assigned and I got the grade I wanted. Take him!
The best Math professor I have ever had so far. If you need math credits you should pick one of his classes. He explains notes in excellent details until you understand the lesson.
Second time taking this class. The first time my professor was bad. But McKintosh is so much better!
No textbook required. No homework graded. No quizzes. Your grade is made of exams that are easy ONLY IF you study/practice the material. He is very willing to help if you need it, and explains everything very well in class but that alone is not enough to get you a good grade. Be prepared to study! Do not fall behind or you will regret it.
Don't take him. He doesn't use textbooks & is an awful lecturer, becomes rude whenever someone doesn't understand. Our class average was a 59% through the while semester until he curved the grades at the end. Ridiculous.
He is a great teacher, he doesnt make you buy a textbook, nor does he grade HW. You have multiple exams that YOU have to study for, and if you put in the time YOU will get a good grade. The only reason people complain about him is because they didnt study and need someone to blame other than themselves.
very cool guy. wish we had more homework to help my grades though
Good teacher, he saves you money by not having a text book but his website has plenty of helpful links. You need to be self motivated to be in his class though because he doesnt grade homework and only has a few tests. He doesnt give a hige final exam which is a plus because it made my finals week so much easier. I recommend him!
Taken calc before in high school and my teach was just plain awful, never understood a word she said, only did okay because I had help from friends. He makes it clear and teaches why and when this could be used. Hard class in general but easy if you study.
Great teacher. Explains well, and makes an effort to go into details. Treats everyone fair. Grades are fair. If you do your work, you will learn, and that's what I wanted.I will recommend him.
He gives easy work. And then test day comes and the problems are extremely hard compared to practice problems and notes. he only gives exam points so it is hard to do good in his class.
All the material was explained well. For all the tests students should be able to correct their mistakes for the test to at least get a few points back. Also possibly refer to a book (optional) if some do not understand the material. Lastly to not make the test difficult and be able to reason with some of the test questions.
Take him for Pr-calculus! Take him for Trigonometry! Take him for College Algebra! Take him for Calculus! He is an inspiring professor. Only motivated students will do good in his lecture class.
Well, I failed his class (my own fault there), but I do have a great respect for Mr. McKintosh. He's a great teacher, he knows what he's teaching and he teaches it very well. No homework grades to offset poor testing or study habits, though, so beware of this fact! Other than that, great teacher!
The avg. on the Final exam was 57%, only 4 out of 18 students passed (>69.5 %) the Final -- the final covered 3.8 to 6.10 which was included in tests #4, 5 & 6 -- the avg. for those tests was 75% and 80% of students passed -- Maybe the Final exam didn't truly represent the material covered or 80% that didn't pass Final just didn't get it -- why?
Wonderful teacher! He really knows how and what to explain. It is hard if you do not pay attention(being on your phone) or miss class. He goes through the subject materiel at a medium speed, so be prepared to having to think fast. I did however not like how he would say "I'll get to that later" The tests can be hard, unless you study least 3-4 hours
Professor was always professional and did his very best to make a difficult subject easy, however the content is hard. He had lots of online resources that helped tremendously.
Great teacher! You definitely receive the grade you work for. He knows his stuff and has tons of helpful links on his website. And a plus, he doesn't require a textbook!
Professor McKintosh made difficult concepts very clear and explained why things are done, not just how. He always welcomed questions. There is no textbook. Instead, all homework is posted on his website. It's not graded, although, it's the best practice for the tests which are the only grades you receive.
McKintosh teaches the subject very well, knowing the material like the back of his hand. The only thing I wished he would have done on the homework solutions, especially with some of the more complex problems, is show the algebra to get to the answer you need for the calculus. If you have the chance take him but be sure you know trig and algebra.
Professor McKintosh is willing to help students with any questions; his lectures are thorough which is good for notes. He does not use a book, but he provides many homework problems, as well as an abundance of extra help resources on his website. He can refer you to some inexpensive textbooks, if you like. I would take another class from him.
Mr. Mckintosh really pushes students to succeed through constant review and study. He trains you to become as successful as possible and to strive for success. I came from the bottom up and scored an A in his class. Most challenging Math teacher I've ever taken and also the best Math teacher I've ever taken. Highly recommended!!!
Mr. McKintosh is an excellent teacher. He does a great job explaining the material and answering any questions. If you keep up with the online homework, show up on time, and pay attention in class, you should do very well in his class.
Mr. McKintosh is a great teacher. Very committed to helping students. His syllabus is extremely accurate - if you take him in the future, read it thoroughly and take it all as truth. He gives good explanations, the homework is helpful, he uses no expensive textbooks, and doesn't try to purposely trick you on tests. Wish he was teaching Calc II.
Such a good teacher. I took calculus before and failed. Professor McKintosh made it really easy to follow and reviews a lot which is helpful. He doesn't enforce homework because he gives the answers and how to do it online. He's the best math teacher I've had in years.
Teaches way too fast, voice raises when you ask him to go over something and you don't understand right away, and has a "you're on your own" attitude (much more than usual, anyway).
He is an excellent professor, the kind you would expect to have in college. Love how he holds students accountable for their own success in the class, doesn't hold your hand. Syllabus is extremely accurate! Read it multiple times. The material in this class is difficult, but he is a very clear but thorough instructor. Loved taking Calc with him!
Does not give students enough assignments nor enough time to complete them
He is a great teacher! I would recommend this teach to anyone. He gives a lot of examples with multiple colors. His tests are reasonable and as long as you do the hw, you'll be fine.
Easy if you study.
Professor McKintosh is an excellent teacher. Very clear and thorough explanation of material. Does NOT baby you, so pay good attention to the syllabus and do all homework (even though it's mandatory). Miss the LEAST amount of class as possible. Best math class and teacher I've had in a long time, actually cares about your success.
In all honesty, he is a great professor. He is very tuff however. IF you read his syllabus and do the hw that does not even get turned in, you will pass with flying colors. He helps when you need it. He has office hours and tutoring. This is a real college course. You pay money to be there, and he expects you to be there on time ready to learn.
He is a very good instructor but do not expect any freebies in this course. Only exams count towards your grade.Very structured and clear about what he expects from you. I would recommend taking this course but be prepared to put most of your time into it. Tests are reasonable and somewhat easy if you DO THE HOMEWORK!
I had always received A's in all my math classes, however I really struggled in this class. I felt like I understood the material and really studied but then would do horrible on the exams. He is very unapproachable, would not recommend this professor.
He is very serious but is approachable if you show you care about learning the material. Extremely organized with his class, he lays everything out for you on his webpage to help you be successful. No textbook, no graded hw; only tests determine your grade. If you take good notes & do hw you should do well, but you must put in this time to learn it
Very specific guidelines but extremely helpful! Gives you study guides for the midterm and final that have ALL the questions on them. Can't be one minute late but would definitely recommend!
Calculus is very difficult, but if you apply yourself and go to class every day and pay attention when you're there, you can make it work. He is good at explaining things and is there for help when you need him to be. Doesn't use a textbook, which is nice. The links he provides you with for help are incredibly helpful also.
Very difficult class. Be prepared to study all the time. I would recommend another professor, since some of the things on the test we not talking about in class.
This class is very difficult but it IS possible to maintain a good grade. Prof. McKintosh expects you to go to him if you need help. He is a very good teacher, just tough concepts to learn. I recommend going over all tests once returned to you and fixing the mistakes you made to avoid making them again!
I loved taking McKintosh's class! He is tough but fair and he really cares about your understanding of the material. Anyone who says otherwise needs a reality check - college is NOT easy and he makes this quite clear. If you do ALL the homework and study your butt off, you will be successful. Overall, an excellent professor. :)
Did a great job at explaining the steps that are involved in math problems.
He gives you the tools to succeed, the rest is up to you. You do the same problems on a couple different occasions which helps learning by repetition. He always asks for questions and is usually available to help, even leaves links on his webpage in case you want help at home. Doesn't use a textbook, which allowed me to save $200 in books.
He's an awesome professor. The class is quite challenging, but that's math in general. He teaches pretty well, makes everything clear and understandable. Always there for extra help as well. I would recommend taking his class. As long as you do the homework and study the study guides which are identical to the tests than you should get a good grade
Math was never my strong suit, so I was very nervous and thought I'd fail my Calc class. Mr. McKintosh explains things very, very clearly and does a very good job of teaching. I had taken Calc AP in high school before, but didn't really understand the teacher. Mr. McKintosh moves at a comfortable pace and the tests are extremely easy if you study.
He will go over in detail any question you have. At first, his class was really boring because he covers everything so well. Almost too easy. Pay attention to his lectures, and take good notes. There is NO textbook.
Does a really good job on preparing students for next level calculus courses. He goes in depth on the material and answers questions really clear. Does not grade homework so only grades that count are from the tests. He has a solution guide for homework problems which are EXTREMELY helpful. Students who don't do homework will do poorly on tests
Excellent teaching style, clearly understands the material and teaches it in a way that is easy to understand. Really does seem to care about the success of each student in his classes, a rarity among teachers. And gives you more than enough material to understand the course, as there is no assigned book. Study, study, study.
McKintosh is the type of teacher who will show you things step by step and makes sure that things are clear for you before moving on. If you understand the homework then you will get through the class with a good grade. Do not be late either, be on time because he takes attendance on time! And every now and then he'll slip a little joke in.
Mr. McKintosh is a rare breed of professor. He is there to really teach you, so if you want a professor that will hand you a good grade, do not enroll in his course. However, if your looking for a professor that can relay math in a clear, understandable way, Enroll Now! He is worth the early mornings and strict attendance policy!
He explains each concept step by step and it's very clear. If you take notes in the class, and also do your homework, then it is not difficult to receive an A since the tests are very similar to the lectures and homework questions. I would definitely recommend him for MAT187 and other math courses!
Great teacher
Definitely recommend this guy if you've already taken calculus; his lectures are clear and concise and he picks all the right problems to work on in class. The only assignments are tests, so its up to you to ask questions, get tutoring, and do the optional homework assignments for practice.
Even tough some of the tests were really hard, Mr Mckintosh helps everyone most of the times. He expects you to do you best and he ll help you if you need. I totally recommend this teacher if you like math and want to improve in it.
An amazing teacher, I was able to understand everything and with practice and a little extra studying, you should be very successful in this class. However - DON'T. BE. LATE!
The best professor i have had by far. Everything is planned and organized well. His notes are easy to follow and he is helpful! His courses are challenging by default, but he actually explains how each topic works. I'm taking another class next semester and I cannot wait! Oh, and he acknowledges those who work hard!
He is a tough but fair grader. My learning style didn't mesh well with his teaching style, however, I still think he is a great teacher. He is very through with his lectures. The homework isn't for a grade but I would highly recommend doing it, its really helpful :)
Rude, hard, and patronizing. Skips steps, teaches faster than you can take notes, happy to help till he feels he's taught something too much or that you should know it. Take him if you are SUPER good at math, I've always considered myself exceptional but his teaching did not appeal to my learning style and I took Trig online and earned an A. Beware
Class is very hard, make sure to do all the homework even tho you don't have to. Tests are the only thing graded. If you have a 69% he won't bump you up to pass
He doesn't hand out a free grade by any means, but he absolutely makes the class passable. His lectures are clear and questions are encouraged. He is a good professor for motivated individuals.
Despite my two lower scores, this math class has prepared me more for my career than any other. From the beginning, he is crystal clear on what he expects from students and lateness is not tolerated. When grading, he will mark you off for any incorrect work, but awards partial credit. Any extra help you could need is provided on the class web page.
Professor Mckintosh is truly one of the best math teacher. Clear as crystal with his instructions and does a tremendous job of explaining the material. He does make you work for your grade but is also fair and willing to work with you if you talk to him. I highly recommend him.
He's a great teacher that goes step by step through problems and will give you the feedback you need to be successful in the class.
Great teaching style
Awesome teacher! He may be the best math teacher in the valley!
Prof. McKintosh was fantastic. His explanations of problems were very clear and step-to-step. He not only told you how to do a problem, but WHY it is done that way and it made it so much easier to understand. The grading policy was straightforward. He is a good teacher, I'd take another class with him as my instructor!
I really recommend him he explains each problem step by step, and he doesnt require the book for the class.
Professor McKintosh has a great understanding of calculus, but in my opinion is not a good teacher. He isn't approachable and fast pace in class. Most time in lecture was spent trying to catch up with his examples. He is not a conceptual teacher and does not engage his students to ensure their understanding. He is condescending and annoying.
Absolutely a better class because of McKintosh! Very specific, clear, and keeps a proper pace with teaching new (as well as old) material! I appreciate that he proves formulas to let you have a better understanding and goes about solutions in various ways.
Enthusiastic
Mr. McKintosh is a pretty good math teacher who explains the concepts well. He simplifies them and goes into great detail on how to do certain problems. You also don't need to buy a textbook which is a big plus. The only knock would be that if you are a few minutes late he marks you absent so be sure to get there on time.
For some reason this semester he wasn't very nice of helpful as before. I am disappointed in his class. It's tough and I accept my grade, but it's clear if he doesn't like you he is more likely not to help. Also he doesn't build any relationships with students. All I know about him is that he's good at math and he's British. Cool... I learned tho..
Gives off condescending attitude if you don't get something. If he runs low on time in class he rushes. Don't take pictures of the board or he will hate you and call you out in front of everyone. He doesn't get personal and sometimes I wish he did to engage us more in class. Hes brilliant but needs to lighten up. Not worth 5 credits. Take Birds 220
Mckintosh is a brilliant professor. He knows his math. He doesn't like wasting time & hates interruptions. Be on TIME! His lectures are clear, precise, encourages to ask questions, available before and after class and at the tutoring center. His exams for this class were tough and long but if you do his homework and take good notes, you'll be fine.
Great professor, every lecture is well thought out/organized down to the last second. Makes note taking easy and actually useful when test time comes around. Tests are just like the homework problems. Not the easiest class, but everything is clear-cut, and the rest is up to you. Don't expect to be babied!
No 'mandatory' work but the all the tools you need to succeed are there. Listen, take notes, and do the homework and you will be successful.
Great teacher, he makes everything so easy to understand. Just don't miss class or you'll be far behind!
Take notes and do homework. Repetition is key. Explains exactly why things are for a solid foundation of understanding. Brilliant teacher! Should have taken him years ago.
Take notes, and show up to every class you can. The homework's are not mandatory but they definitely help as a review for the test. I recieved one of the best grades I have ever had in a math class. Overall, an amazing teacher and plan to take him for MAT220
Show up to every class. Do the homework, study and participate in class. I would suggest you get multi-colored pens/pencils; red, blue, green, purple and black. Make yourself some good study sheets. There is no extra credit! Don't bother whining about it, he won't even hand you a tissue.
Enjoyed this class all semester. The tests are simple problems based off the notes.
Its a calculus class, the work load is to be expected.. but his grading police is extremely fair and he does a great job of explaining the concepts! He is right to the point and homework is not graded so there is a plus! :)
Don't show up to class or do the homework and you won't pass. No quizzes or homework count toward your grade, just tests. test problems are just like problems done in class. Mckintosh is incredibly knowledgeable and is not messin around.
Great lectures, never wasting time, one of the best teachers I've had.
I have a tight work schedule in order to pay for college. Every once in a while this results in sleeping through an alarm. I've never had a teacher that is so zero tolerance for missing class. Doesn't matter if you pass the midterm and final you might as well drop the class if you miss a test for any reason.
One of the very best teachers that I have ever taken. Explains the math really well and the tests are exactly as he described in the syllabus, just like the problems in class and in the homework. If you can find the time to do the work outside of class you will almost certainly earn a C or better.
Professor McKintosh is an amazing teacher, but his class is not a walk in the park, You earn the grade you receive! Homework is not mandatory but if you want to pass the class you have to do the homework. His teaching style is amazing and he is well prepared for lectures, and if you have a question he will try his best to help yo understand.
Wonderful professor! Calculus is a difficult subject to lecture students and improve their understanding. However, when it comes down to it, this professor is a diamond. Struggling and have questions? Don't worry, he explains EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. As long as you do your part as a student (put in effort, ask questions), he'll help you succeed.
Great teacher. It's hard to find good math teachers and if you come across this teacher make sure you re-arrange your schedule if you have to, so you can attend his math class.. you won't regret it He is Awesome and explain the materials in a real good way.
Mr. McKintosh was very good at describing what was being presented. He has a subtle sense of humor that I found to make class interesting. Method of grading was very well known and well explained. We knew what our grade was at any point of time. I found this a great class and would easily take this same instructor for other classes.
Mr. McKintosh is the best teacher I've ever had. Great lectures and he will answer every question that you have. Be on time and do your homework and should not be hard. I will definitely take him again.
CONS 1) doesnt care about you and wont treat you like an adult 2) only grades tests but expects you to do all his hw 3) makes you show work/do everything his way 4) if you are one minute late youll start to see a negative impact on your entire grade PROS: 1) midterm and final can replace low test scores 2) always available 3) hands back tests fast
Professor McKintosh is a great professor. He provides you with good notes, many tutoring options and his website is extremely useful. If you do the homework, the tests will be almost like a review. Great professor.
He is a good teacher. However I took his 7:00 am class and it was the worst decision ever. Hes very strict when it comes to attendance if youre one minute late he will count you as an absent and take points off which believe me you dont want that since the only things that count into your overall grade. This was a nightmare and I had to drop it.
Very lecture heavy; if he starts to run out of time, he rushes examples. Tests are a lot harder than anyone could imagine (especially multiple choice end final!!). STUDY YOUR BUTT OFF for midterm and final (they replace your lowest scores which is nice). Attendance is part of your grade so show up and be PUNCTUAL (10 seconds late absence)
Hard class but his lecture is great. Homework is not mandatory but is a good practice for the tests. Attendance is very important for your grade, you will be considered absent if you come or leave early, or even if you miss half a class with a good excuse . Overall he is the best math teacher I ever had. Will take him again!!!
This was by far the easiest class to actually follow, I have taken thus far. He is very good at explaining material and is very clear with the material he gives. He grades solely on tests so be sure to study, especially because he doesn't grade homework. By far one of my favorite teachers and would for sure take one of his classes in the future!
I have depression now because of his class.
He's friendly, but loud. He tries to explain as much as possible in the given time. You can tell he wants everyone to understand
He is one of the most amazing teachers I have had
a great professor who truly cares about helping. the class is very difficult so dont miss any lectures or else you probably will fall behind. Overall very good professor and very good at lecturing and explaining content
I took him this semester and he was great. He is helpful but he wants you to be on time. Overall he is the best math teacher.
Expect to study a lot over the weekends if you take his math class twice a week. I was constantly in the math tutoring building because the material was covered so quick. I do not recommend taking his class if you have more than 3 other classes. He was really cool though and genuinely wants people to learn.
If your looking for a teacher that is willing to explain the concepts of the subject then take this course. You are only graded on tests, so homework is optional, but also necessary since its an easy way to study for the test since sometimes the questions are the same. This teacher is very straightforward and is very passionate about his subject.
Professor McKintosh is a great professor. He is an instructor that makes very clear what needs to happen to get a good grade. And the thing that I personally loved is that there is no unnecessary work. There is homework that is optional, but the tests are the only thing that counts towards the final grade. Definitely will take again!
This is a fast paced class, but he has a very clear lecture which makes it easier to grasp the concepts. If you ask questions in class, do the homework and take detailed notes you should be fine. The exams have very similar problems to the notes and hw, so I highly suggest doing the hw even though its not graded. He's a great teacher!
McKintosh is an amazing teacher. He wants all of his students to succeed on his class. Gives great lectures that will actually stick in your brain. He does study guides for tests and grades super fast. Available for any questions and extraordinarily smart. I would take him again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM
Good teacher
He is honestly one of the best math teachers I have ever had! He explains everything very well and goes into a lot of detail in order to show how he got his answers.
This is the worst MATH teacher I have ever met in my life. He's smart to do the problems to himself but for sure does not know how to explain it and send it to students. if you want to understand " CALCULUS " DO NOT TAKE MAT220 with him. his tests consist of too many questions with a little amount of time given. terrible
teaching very detail, and if you make note of what he said and do the work, you will get a good grade
This instructor is very passionate about math and expects 110% from his students. All grades are from from exams, homework is not graded but absolutely necessary to comprehend the material. (allows a 3X5 note card on every test including midterm and final). Don't be late he will count you absent seconds after attendance. Prioritize this class.
If you take one of his classes and you have questions and office hours are available, GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He very helpful and wants to see you succeed!
He trully tested my brain and I really feel like I earned the grade I got it wasnt handed to me.
Lecture heavy, but they are really helpful. The course is fast paced, but if you don't skip class and do your homework you will succeed.
This class requires effort and is not one you can just simply ease through. I bombed the first couple of times but I managed to catch up and do well towards the end. Although Mr. Mckintosh doesn't count homework as a grade it is still super important to help you for the test. Make sure to pay attention to what the teacher says. Good class overall.
Mr. McKintosh conveys the material very clearly and tells you exactly what you need to do in order to succeed in his class. Overall, I had a great experience in this class and would recommend it to anyone.
Do the homework
Mr. McKintosh was a fantastic teacher, he made a difficult subject like calculus sooo much easier to understand and I appreciate him for that. He uses great, but simple, examples to convey difficult subjects. He is also an extremely fair grader, I absolutely stress that you do good on the midterm and final, they're hard but will save your grade. :)
He's the best math teacher I've had so far!!! Professor McKintosh is an amazing teacher, he made the class really easy to understand. He worries about his students and makes sure everyone understand the material. He doesn't grade homework but it definitely helps. His tests are hard so make sure to study. Overall great teacher!
I took him for both MAT 187 & 220, he's a great teacher! Make sure that you do the homework and review problems in notes, it'll really help you for the exams. If you have questions ask, he'll be happy to help you! I highly recommend taking him!
Lays out everything you need to pass, which is nice since calc is pretty difficult. Explains everything really well and made the class as easy to understand as possible.
Professor McKintosh is very thorough and knowledgeable in his lectures. He is willing to work with you, and answers questions very well. Homework isn't graded or due, but doing ALL of it will highly benefit you. If you are looking for an easy class, this one is not for you if you want a good grade; however, none of his expectations are unreasonable
You have to put in work to pass, but he lays out expectations and what he looks for on day one. Homework isn't collected or graded, but if you want to pass, you'll have to do it and review your notes. The class isn't too bad if you work for it. He's always willing to help clarify anything you don't understand. If you don't show up, you'll struggle.
There is a good amount of homework that he assigns from his website. While the homework isn't collected for a grade, the questions on the tests come from the homework. So if you want to do well you should do the homework.
Good at explaining things. Makes everything easier.
He lectures the entire class and if you don't understand something you have to do the homework or make sure you watch the videos to figure it out your self.
Very good instructor, makes it clear it us up to the student whether or not a passing grade is feasible. Doing the homework is optional but necessary for the course. Notecards allowed for tests and exams.
Honestly one of the best math professors Ive had. Hes super relaxed when it comes to attendance and gives out no homework. Im definitely going to try to take him again.
Lectures were easy to understand and he makes sure to answer questions clearly. A long as you took good notes during the lecture and did all the homework, the tests were easy to pass. He also uploaded a pdf with examples of what types of questions that would be on the tests that made it easy to study.
Amazing teacher, always ready to help student and answer questions. Always starts the class previous lectures problems, try to review things prior to exam and post the review guide before exam so you know how to prepare for the exam. Homework is not mandatory but if you dont do it you will struggle for the exam.
He's more than willing to help if you have any problems with the material, and his teaching style is great. He is really good at explaining new concepts and makes sure everyone understands it. Homework is optional, i didn't do homework much but did the study guides he provides before tests and they were extremely useful.
Mr. McKintosh is one of the best math instructors I have ever had. I had struggled previously with Calculus but his lectures made learning this subject really easy for me. I enjoyed not having to turn in homework and grades were based strictly on the exams. I would take him for future math classes if I could.
Excellent teaching style! Gives thorough explanations on everything so youre not lost!
By far the best math instructor that I have had. I took him for MAT220 but my friends who had him for MAT187 and MAT151 all had positive things to say about their classes too.
I could write a book about how amazing Mr. Mckintosh is. He's passionate about math. He does his part and the rest is up to you. YOU choose your grade in this class by never missing class, doing HW everyday, and following his instructions. Every second in class is planned. This class is for math heavy majors. it prepares you for higher math classes
He's one of the best calculus instructors I've had. His lectures are clear and he leaves time for questions. He outlines everything immaculately and has TONS of resources available.
Best math teacher I have ever had :)
By far, the BEST calculus teacher I've ever had. He is passionate and knowledgable, his approach to teaching and lecture are immaculate. He explains everything you need in order to succeed. He has so many resources available, and the only way you'll fail is if you do not try.
Explains lectures very well in detail and easy to understand.
He is the best math teacher I have ever had. I definitely recommend this teacher to anyone. If you are worried this class will be too challenging for you, take it anyways. You can do it because he is a really good teacher! You have to put in the work though. Take his class!
I thought it was cool that he was very knowledgeable of the subject. Also, even though the homework is not graded and we don't even have to turn them in, meaning we didn't have to do the homework, I feel like it's still important to practice on the math problems he was teaching us in class, which he does encourage us to do.
This class is overall really amazing ! I was expecting it to be a lot harder, but it was seamless. He provides homework, but doesn't grade it. The test system he has is really amazing ! Basically if you score really bad on the first three tests, you can bump all of those grades up if you score great on the midterm, and so on.. I would recommend !
He gives you the opportunity to ask questions, and explains in detail how get the answer. After you miss a certain amount of classes, you start to lose points from your overall grade. If you show up to class and try to understand the lesson, youll be fine.
Professor McKintosh takes a lot of time to lay out the class work, expectations and also help for students. He is clear with his teaching and what needs to be done to be successful. I actually enjoyed only being graded on tests, because it held me accountable to do my homework and put the work in for his class. I would recommend him completely.
McKintosh was easily the best math teacher/professor I've ever had in all of my educational career. The way he described everything, goes in-depth, and makes it all so easy is outstanding. Well done McKintosh, you're probably the best math teacher in the entire country.
These reviews all seem fake because my experience with this teacher was horrible. I would never recommend anyone to take him EVER. Im almost positive these good reviews are a product of him offering extra credit. Whenever i would ask him about a question he would degrade me and talk to me as if I was stupid.
I took three classes from this professor over a year ago, now I go to ASU. I am here to show appreciation for this amazing teacher who has the best lectures and teaching techniques. 3 years of college and 1 semester at ASU, and he is still my favorite professor ever. Take him if you WANT to learn and succeed. He changed my perspective on math
great teacher. i enjoyed taking his class and i am going to be applying for his classes next semester as well
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He describes math in a way I haven't been taught before, telling us why certain formulas work and smoothly leading into the next section.
He was more than accommodating for the switch to an online platform due to COVID-19. His videos and clear instructions, as well as feedback on tests, is what got me such a high grade. I've never been very successful in math, but now I can say with confidence that I understand the material.
Professor McKintosh explained all of his lessons throughly and well. I was able to be successful even when class was moved to an online format because of how much detail and time he put into his videos, website page, and note guides. He is one of my favorite math teachers and I would recommend him to anyone.
With the whole corona virus thing I believe I could of done a lot better when it's face-to-face. I've had him for 2 semesters and don't think I've ever been more satisfied with how his course is set up. Show up, Do the work, Ask questions and you'll definitely have a chance to get an A in his class.
He is overall a great professor and it will be easy to pay attention in his class. He truly works hard to make sure you guys actually understand the material, out of the two times Ive taken calc before this was my first time actually understanding it.
An excellent teacher whom I hope to take again for harder math classes. If you get the chance to take a class with Professor Mckintosh I urge you to do so.
Great explanations. Concepts are generally not understood in a intuitive fashion, but algebraic proofs are given for kids who are genuinely interested in the math. I have no doubt that if I did my HW I would have gotten an A.
I had the opportunity to take professor Mckintosh three times for calculus and with every semester I had him I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures and the quality of his instruction. He laid everything out to be successful and if I took the personal accountability I would have succeeded even more. He’s retired sadly but I had to show my appreciation.
