Calculus for Business Analysis...he makes this seemingly boring and hard class a piece of cake. He is such a great teacher that I've taken all my math classes with him (Math 45-Math 120). Thanks Mr. Medin, for taking the time to help us out!

Mr. Medin homework problems are only the problems you need to know. You don't do extra work that never shows up on the tests! He also is great at preparing students for the tests by doing reviews in class. He is always willing to answer your questions. Excellent teacher. Best I've had for Math!

Math is scary-he makes it fun. Very gifted teacher who makes math easier to understand than any other instructor I have had. I actually really "got it" in his class. He had shortcut ways to do many difficult problems that really helped. This is the class for those who are not so good at math.

He uses great analogies (coke bottle, prom, nightclub) and using the "Big X" to do factoring problems is genius! Mr. Medin makes Algebra a "walk in the park"!!! Do not hesitate-enroll today!

"A walk in the park!" Best way to describe Mr. Medin and his teachings. He is awesome and explains the material so well and clearly. It made me like Math, and boost my Mathematical thinking. He'll go over the material step by step, and uses comphrendable techniques. If you fail his class, its either ur often absent or ddn't bother to try harder.

He is just as good as everyone is saying. It had been a while since I had taken a math class when I took his statistic's class. Made the material completly approachable and I work my way through it. In the end I got an A, completely worth trying to get him as a math teacher.

He is the best math teacher. I took him for math 45 and 65 and he help my understand so much. Everyone in the class loved him. It is math so it isn't easy but he helps you and explains in a way that actually gets through. You will not regret taking his class!!

He is the best Math Professor at SWC! I have never come across a professor who makes Intermediate Algebra fun, and easy to follow! As long as you attend class daily, complete the hw, study and ask him for help, you're guaranteed to earn an A! He encourages you to not limit yourself, if you want to major in Math :)

Math has always been my worst subject, never found a teacher I understood untill i took his class. The way he explains things is so easy and iI recomend him to anyone who hates math as much as me or has difficultys with it

Mr. Medin is quite possibly the best teacher I have ever had for any subject. He makes math 65 as easy as it can be, not by giving extra credit or easy tests rather by actually teaching the material. After taking Math 65 for the 3rd time with many other teachers and failing..I never thought I was going to pass the deam class...but a friend of mine recomended Mr.Medin for me to take and pass Math 65.He was right! I have to say that before this class, I could not factor or even understand half of the "crap" that is Algebra. Professor Medin's teaching style helps the "math airheads," such as myself, understand Algebra. He won't put you to sleep & is very helpful if you're having H.W trouble.

Very good math prof. Easy to understand. Just show up on his lectures and take notes and thats all you need to pass. I don't even read the book because his lecture note's is all you need to know the materials. Strict on cell phone in class. Doesn't give extra credit so try your best to score high on all exam if you want an A.

By far the best professor SWC has in the math department. Calculas was not easy, but with Medin it's understandable. Only problem is I think he only teaches this class every other semester, but if you can get him I recommend. Very strict on cell phones, but this man deserves respect!!

I took Math 65 twice at SWC and didnt do very well either times. Then i took it with Medin and passed with an A! he is an amazing teacher who teaches math in a way that is understandable for a lot of people who dont get math at all! There r not enough positive adjectives for Prof. Medin, best teacher I've ever had in my whole school history (3 different countries). I transferred to SDSU and I'm coming back to SWC to take Stats again, but now with him. Simply extraordinaire. If u r looking for solid bases in math, he is the one! Just amazing.

Great teacher! Gives you all the homework assignments in syllabus and each section (3-4 chapters) is due on the day of the test. Very clear and teaches you many little "trick." If he had been my teacher in high school, I would've never forgot all I learned. I can't recommend him enough.

This teacher might be a bit intimidating but one of the sweetest and caring teachers i have ever met. In the begining of the semmester you must come 15 minutes early to class or risk being seated on the floor. Great person and excellent teacher, very kind to all his students. This Prof. Rocks my Socks besides the fact that hes a huge Dallas fan, but absolutely the best teacher at teaching anything in Math. Granted he does give homework and too much at times but its an easy class. He gets you to interact by laughing even if your determined not to. By far the best. Holy Hell, if you think you can't do this math, I don't know what teacher in the world can help you because this teacher makes math like baking a cake. And I mean like good cake. Medin is a nice teacher and does his best to clarify things you don't understand. I did not pass this class I am terrible at math, but I sometimes felt he expected you to already understand concepts before hand.

If you have difficulties in Math, like I did, Medin's course is the one for you. He explained every step in detail. He was always available when I had questions, and I had a lot! Very strict on cell phones and attendance, but what professor isn't. He made this semester go by fast.

Prof. Medin is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I was dreading Business Calculus because math has always been my weak subject but he just makes everything seem so easy. Currently taking this class and o have the highest A in the class. I normally hate math and I usually suck at it but you're only as good as your teacher. Medin has been fantastic. He makes each concept clear, gives great examples, cracks funny jokes at the expense of the Chargers, and has shown great patience. He enjoys teaching and it shows. Before Mr.Medin I hated math! I got a D in 45,retook it & got a C. While taking his class I reached a potential that I didn't know I had. I got an A on every exam! I took in the summer for both Math 119 and 120. He is an amazing teacher, got an A in both his classes. Would recommend him to anyone. Be sure to do the mathxl homework, it counts for the test.

Mr. Medin is such a sweet guy. When i taking another math class (with another professor) and i needed help. He allowed me to stop by his office and ask him anything even though i wasn't taking his class! The homework is easy and it counts towards your grade. He goes over everything thoroughly. And its obvious that he LOVES his job.

The mathxl assignments are time consuming and don't go with his lecture and don't count for our grades, which is unfair and doesn't make sense. But this teacher is very nice and his lecture are very interesting.

Andrew Medin is a great math teacher. I was struggling in math 60 and I thought I wouldn't make it through the first week of math 70 but he explains all the steps very well and clearly. He also likes to joke around which makes the class fun.

BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER! he obviously loves his job, he is so clear and makes sure that you understand everything.

Prof. Medin is one of the best math professors out there. He his very clear and concise and if for some reason you don't understand do not be afraid to ask. He will give you plenty of examples and will not critize you if you are not comprehending the material. My favorite professor, I would take all math courses with him.

I can't express in words how amazing Prof. Medin is. In my entire life, I had never received above a C in any math course, and I even had to take a math class three semesters in a row! He is so helpful, kind and approachable and doesn't make you feel stupid or intimidated to ask a question. I would go out of my way to take another class with him.

If you take notes during the lecture and study Mr. Medin's practice problems you'll do just fine. He springs no surprises and actually tests on what he teaches...what a concept!

Amazing teacher. I had taken Math 60 twice in a row because the other teacher I had sucked. When I took Mr. Medin's class everything was crystal clear. I got a "B" in his class because he explains math in the most simplest and fastest way. No bs he absolutely great. Take his class you will love him too.

By Far the Best math teacher I have ever had, He make Business Calculus look like Elementary Algebra. He accepted crashers even though there were not enough chairs, and as the semester ended there were still people on the floor cause his class is just that good. Clear, helpful, funny, knows his stuff, take him if you can.

I never wanted to miss class. Had a great study group also. Uses MATHXL. Purchase his study guide at book store. AWESOME AWESOME TEACHER. I learned so much. Teaches great shortcuts also. If you need a math class u have to take him trust me he will make math really easy and explain till you understand.Do not buy the text book you only have to buy one book at otay books and a math xl. Teaches you how to solve stuff in a fast and simple way. you are allowed a page of notes on the exam, what more can you ask for. Great guy take him A++

Mr. Medin was the best math teacher/professor I've ever had! He makes the material so easy to understand, but his pace may be a little too slow for some. It is important to attend class every day or you'll be lost, there's a test almost every after chapter, and there is homework due every test day on mathxl. It's worth it to take him though

I endorse Medin 100%! He makes Algebra seem very straightforward, and never encourages the use of risky shortcuts that can derail you from the right answers. I've taken the same class 6 times, and this will be the first time I will ever pass the class, maybe with an A! He answers ALL questions, and keeps his cool. Just be sure to do your homework!

I would love to take his class again. His lecture is very understandable, and he is not hurry to go next chapter. If you worry about statistics, you don't need to worry, for sure, he will get you there.

Professor Medin is great! He's a great teacher and very funny. He let us use notecards on tests and even drops our lower test score. Make sure to attend each class cause he teaches something new everyday. He does cancel some days because of his migraines though.

I have never been confidant. About passing a math course before! I waited a year after math 60 in hopes to get him for math 70 and then take him for math 119! I so excited to take him this year he makes his own book full of work he puts on the board so you follow along with him and your work stays organized he also gives you practice quizzes HW pts

He is really a great teacher I took his Math 45 and Math 60 and both were very well explained. I am a weak math student but with his lectures throughout the semester I did great!

From day 1 Mr. Medin was cracking hilarious jokes, he made you want to pay attention not just for a grade but because you didn't want to miss one of his jokes. Professor Medin teaches really well, he tells jokes while he teaches and he teaches exactly what will be in the test. If you miss a day you will fall behind. Another cool thing is he only requires a folder with everything you need, mathxl for homework and grades and a TI 83 or 84 calculator.

Professor Medin the the sweetest, most caring professor at SWC. He is extremely helpful and really funny. All his homework is in math XL and you have to go to every class or else you will get lost. Overall he is awesome and taking him for all my future math classes. Also he accepts all his crashers !!

Professor Medin is good and tries to make explanations easy during his lectures but I did not like his test reviews because instead of helping you they confuse you more do to the fact that the answer keys where incorrect. It made the class seem a bit disorganized. Expect a lot of hw but that is actually beneficial not hard just take notes.

If you have a hard time with Math, I definitely recommend taking Mr. Andrew Medin. He teaches Math in a simple to understand way, takes the time to explain the why behind the Math so it makes more sense. He's a nice person with a great sense of humor, but don't allow that to fool you, he's strict with his class policies and homework. (MathXL only)

Prof Medin treats you like an adult. Some would say he posts a lot of hw on mathxl, however this prepares you for the material that is on his tests, and he prepares you for what it will take to succeed in pre-calc and above. He requires you to buy his very own lecture notes, which makes the lectures very organized. I highly recommend him.

If you're struggling in math courses, take this guy. Hands down. He doesn't attempt to do any method to try and get the student's attention. He is very straightforward and gives detailed, concise explanations on how to do math without making life harder for yourself. Others show you tricky shortcuts that don't always work. Not being good at math AT ALL, I managed to get an A in his class! How you may ask? Well, he makes learning the material easy and fun by making it relatable to you. He uses great examples, there are few tests (easy), and he gives you a chance to pass. You don't have to purchase the book and make sure you do the homework in a timely manner.

He's the funniest and coolest professor I had in math 119. He makes a lot of football jokes in the class which makes it very pleasant to go in the class. Also, he is an easy teacher and he will help you in every step if you did not understand how to find an answer in a calculator or the lecture.

Mr. Medin is a great math professor. His method of teaching makes the material easier to understand. The examples he uses are not complex and helps you grasp the content. Skipping class is a mistake since you can easily get lost if you aren't there. 4 tests, 1 final during summer. No crib sheets. Teaches you how to use the calculator!

Summer Class moves fast. So be prepared for his quick lectures. He does ask students if they need help or have questions on the subject. 5 test total including final, final was an easy one. No more than 10 question on each exam. Pay attention and study just like any other class. He makes sure that you understand the material. Buy his book.

He is a bery good teacher, I took this class 2 times but I dropped them after the first test, with Mr. Medin I got straight As and I like that he wont move forward until everybody understands the lecture.

Professor Medin is the best for Math teaching. There is a lot of good teachers at Southwestern. He explains the material clearly for you to understand. you must study his study guide's to pass his exams. do the homework it does help your grade go up even if is just a bit. Good Luck

Super helpful professor

Easy to understand, just bring a graphing calculator (preferably TI-84). His tests are fairly easy.

Took this class over summer. I knew nothing about stats prior. Ended with a high A bc he explains everything perfectly clearly despite the fast pace of summer. Can't imagine how much easier he could have made it if it was during regular sem. Have to buy the book but it's literally exactly whats on the test. You won't regret taking him. 10/10

I've had Mr. Medin for both Math119 and Math70. He makes you purchase his "textbook" which is really a workbook. It runs at about $50. He lectures while going through the problems in the workbook. He works through everything you need to know for his fill in the blank tests. He even reviews problems similar to ones on the tests a day beforehand!

Very straightforward with his lectures. He gets right into it and will answer any questions you may have, and never gets too sidetracked. Of course, nobody can make calculus easy to learn for everyone, but Mr. Medin at least makes it comprehensible.

Mr. Medin was a wonderful teacher. I never found myself looking at the time, hoping class to end. For a math class, Mr. Medin makes it interesting, and understandable. I would recommend him to anyone interested in taking Math. On a side note, Mr. Medin also has a Masters in History. So, if you love to travel he knows the places to visit.

He is a great professor ! Math is not my strongest but as long as you do the HW you will learn. He only gives 3 HWS but you will need to go to tutoring and at least spend 6 hours doing it. if you do so, its an easy A on the test even the final.

Hes a good teacher, only problem is that he goes kind of fast when he teaches you need to work for your grade and do the homework before hand he gives so much hw. The exam are hard study. This class was challenging because I didnt have much time to study I took hard classes with this but I think anyone can pass if you put in the work.

Textbook isnt required but he does use MathLab so you will eventually need to buy it so you can use the class. Mr. Medin is one of the best math professors here at SWC. He breaks down the material to an understandable level and teaches all these useful calculator techniques. A reasonable amount of mathXL hw is due on each exam day. And one more thing: DO THE STUDY GUIDES; they contain questions that are very similar to the exams.

IM taking him right now for summer classes in math 119 and his lessons are very easy to follow you are only graded for homework and test and he really knows how to teach! this is my first time rating a professor because i believe he earns this credit take him ! you wont regret it

Take Statistics with Professor Medin! He's great. Stats is fun, Professor Medin takes the time to help his students and has a lot of experience. It really shows that he wants his students to do well and understand the subject. 65% of your grades go towards weekly exams tho

Take stats with professor Medin. He is the best stats professor at Southwestern and is available outside of class. He is very straightforward with his work. I dropped stats my first time around but Professor Medin made this class a breeze.

Professor Medin is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. I actually took math stats the semester before with another professor and had to drop because it was so difficult and they actually recommended Professor Medin which is ironic. Professor Medin teaches you to step by step everything you need to know about stats. Best professor!!

I didn't interact much with this professor, but it seemed like he was available online. Personally, I don't think he's the best with technology, but he tries his best. Lectures are ok, but it's something. Do your best to get the most out of him as a resource and you might have a better time than I did. The "required" HW bundle was pretty bogus tho.

Professor's recorded lectures are great. I felt like I was understanding the material from his lectures. The only thing I wish is that his lectures used sample problems like the ones in the homework and exams. He didn't, so it was a challenge to do the homework and tests. But coming from someone who struggles with math, I'd still recommend.

Professor Medin was by far one of my favorite teachers despite failing his class twice. He is pretty funny and although it was long lectures, it went by pretty fast. I took his class around a year ago, but the way he taught made it memorable. We had a textbook that was more of a binder filled with worksheets we would do together in class.

Amazing professor, he teaches well and knows how to explain the process without confusing students. Math HW is a lot and more difficult than lectures so prepare yourself, learn how to do the problems (will help you greatly on tests). Gives reasonable deadlines and overall great experience.

Prof. Medin is so sweet and a really good teacher. He helps you really understand the material and makes calculus more approachable. His tests weren't that difficult in my opinion, as long as you go over his review questions and homework questions you'll do good.

Prof. Medin's class is challenging but manageable if you put in the work. Lectures move quickly, so staying on top of the homework and using resources like unstuckstudy ai are key. Tests are tough, but he's a clear, engaging teacher.

He is a nice guy that puts a lot of effort into breaking down the material step by step using different analogy situations with baseball and other examples. Coming from someone who is not great at math, it is not impossible to not pass if you put in the work in with homework and enough time with studying or tutoring to master the material.

I took stats1000 with professor Medin. Good amount of homework but reasonable amount of time to complete it, is worth 10% of your grade. Final exam is worth 25% of your grade. Gave lots of study guides for exams. Explained concepts thoroughly. Pay attention because professor does not repeat himself even if you ask questions. Write lots of notes.
