This guy is smart, funny, and all about the student. Never seen a prof try so hard to get people through a class, hes nice to a fault, needs to be more of a jerk.

Excellent teacher. you NEED to particiapte his class,& read the chapters. can be boring, he tries to make it interesting. really goes out of his way to help students. just gives a midterm, 1 paper and a final. he gives a complete review for both. very easy A.

Monahan is an A+ teacher, and that's damn well what you should get if you take his class. Lectures are all very clear. He is interested in and interactive with the students, which helps make paying attention and learning the material much easier. Takes a lot of time preparing helping students understand the material for each exam.

AWSOME TEACHER! extreamly easy A in this class. Gives two test the whole year midterm and final and reviews them question by question the class before! Only one homework assignment (4 page paper very easy though) Class time might get a bit boring he reads right from the text but other than that he's a nice funny guy who likes to make class time fun

Monahan makes whatever he's teaching that semester interesting. 4 Page paper on 'your own business' is due around the middle of the semester. Pretty straightforward. He'll give you all the tools you need to get an A+, you just have to be smart enough to use those tools. Highly recommended.

There are few people in this world who have both the charisma and intelligence to capture your attention completely, and Andrew Monahan is one of these people. The hour and 15 minutes goes by like nothing and you will learn an incredible amount. Take notes in your textbook and the midterm and final will be a breeze. Cares about all of his students.

Best part when he went around the room and asked us our opinion which made us learn from one another.Tests are straight from notes, no curveballs. Each day he had big smile and lots of energy. I highly recommend this professor. The class was low key, interesting, and the fellow teaching it is willing to do anything to help his students. Two tests, one paper, and do the reading. The class is really straight forward and as long as you put some effort into it, an easy A.

"Prof G's" class was my favorite class in all of college hands down. I looked forward to going to every class and he's the sole reason why. His classes are informative but not boring because he uses real life applications and always keeps the students engaged. J. Andrew Monahan is the only reason to go to college. The man has a great teaching style; he likes to get opinions from every person in the class. This does mean you will have to talk, however he makes the lectures entertaining, and interesting. He has a sense of humor, and is extremely understanding. Just get on his good side, you'll be fine.

Monahan is the type of professor that you only thought was possible in your dreams. He does it because he loves it, not because hes required to. The very first class I ever took at SCCC, was a J Andrew Monahan class. The moment he introduced himself to the class I was amazed how warm and inviting he was. He truly cares about his students well being and loves to keep everyone engaged and excited during the class. My goal is to take every class offered with him as a professor.

This was my first class with Professor Monahan and I am still currently taking his course but so far his lectures are entertaining and informative. He usually gives a pretty thorough review of his exams, which is really helpful. As a warning, he does enjoy "getting to know people" so don't be frightened by his eccentric but awesome nature. ;)

He is caring when it comes to his students, and has a rare trait of understanding that life happens. He's enjoyable to listen to and makes all his points clear when requiring information from you. Professor Monahan is truly the crown jewel of Suffolk. His lectures are well known through out the Honor's college. I have taken 2 of his courses at Suffolk and I wish I could take a 3rd. There are too few words in the English dictionary to describe Andrew Monahan. Taking this class is invigorating and inspiring. One will leave this class focused and optimistic on the future. When I arrived at Suffolk, I was lost and in need of direction. I did not take Professor Monahans Management and Principles class until the third semester of my sophomore year. All I can say is this: if your life requires some direction, then professor Monahan will not disappoint. He has profoundly and positively changed my life. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Monahan is a pretty decent prof. The class consists of lectures and textbook readings w/ m.c. questions, as well as two tests, and a paper. He talks A LOT (often off-topic), so if you are looking to hear about a lot of real-life experiences, you might like his class. Make sure to read the PowerPoints because odds are you won't get to it in class.

This class was great. I also took 2 other courses from him, seminar and marketing 101. Participation really matters, but his lectures are very involving, and he never overcomplicates things. He is also very knowledgeable about Brightspace and has the best course page I have noticed so far. You also get to learn what the J stands for.
