Talks quick, but very clear, organized notes, and funny. Would recommend for STATS 1000.
If you're taking stat1000 you need to get Morris. Great prof, doesn't make you buy a textbook, but instead has great notes you can print off and work perfectly. Actual math isn't hard but just make sure you READ QUESTIONS CAREFULLY. I know that's what everyone says but seriously. I got a D on the midterm and an A on the final so I ended with a B.
Amazing professor. Gives fantastic, easy to understand notes. The practice questions provided are extremely helpful in fully understanding the material covered in class. He's a really caring, funny guy and stresses that if you need help with any of the material to go see him directly instead of hiring a tutor. Would 100% recommend his course.
Very engaging. He obviously cares a lot about the success of his students. He can be grouchy and a bit impatient, but generally he's a funny guy. Sometimes he over complicates things and gets wordy but as long as you can pick out the necessary information you should be fine.
Phenomenal proffessor, the best stats prof at the U of M. Uses real world examples to illustrate his points and all of his quizzes are very fair. Didn't take a single note because his voice was imprinted in my head explaining everything.
Morris was awesome. He explained things slow and made so many dad jokes.
Andrew is an excellent prof! His explanations are clear, concise, and easy to understand. Easy A+ if you put in the effort, highly recommend. Also, his jokes are pretty funny.
Amazing at explaining stuff
Andrew is a fantastic professor, great examples, funny, engaging, really is the best stats prof at u of m
really tasking course, dont take it as an elective. the course requires a lot of studying and not really a great prof.
Great Prof! Lectures and notes are super clear. He takes the time to actually teach the class and doesn't just rush through the material. Also very nice if you go ask him a question and funny during class.
Very good at explaining statistical concepts, and you can tell he really cares about his students understanding the material and succeeding in his class. His teaching combined with the simplicity of the material makes stats 1000 the easiest class you'll ever take.
great prof! explains REALLY well and is funny too at times (gives free iclicker marks hahaa..) but the best prof i had in the whole semester!!
Andrew Morris is by far the best first year professor. He explains the material with many analogies to make the material easier to understand and he is even funny, though he might not seem like it. Would recommend for anyone taking Stats. Not an Easy A class, but he makes learning statistics (a seemingly dull subject) into something enjoyable.
Great lectures that are easy to follow! PowerPoint slides are super clear and available online. Even cracks a joke or two per class!
Andrew is the best prof ever!! I've never for once felt sleepy during his class because of his hilarious jokes. His exams just requires you to study all the practice assignment and sample midterms(and common sense :) ). I've not yet written my final exam but i'm sure of an A+ already. Best prof ever!!!
Andrew is for sure one of the best profs I have had in my two years at university so far. Very friendly guy, knows what he is doing and wants you to succeed and understand the material. Gives out lots of practice questions and even more during lectures to help you understand the material. Great notes, great teaching and funny!
Andrew Morris is one of the funniest and best profs at the u of m. His lectures are outstanding, he gives excellent examples of problems and is very good at explaining concepts! Definitely owe my grade in the course to him.
The legend, Andrew is an amazing prof. He is very funny, passionate, and brilliant when he teaches and he is also very approachable. He really wants his students to succeed. Hands down the GREATEST prof ive ever had!
Amazing
Wonderful prof, very easy A+, strongly recommended.
Andrew is a great prof, he's the head of the stats department. He goes through the material quickly but always presents concepts clearly and gives lots of examples. He wants his students to do well. He also is good at keeping things like and making jokes. If you pay attention and study enough you will do well.
Morris emphasizes over and over the concepts that are big marks on the exams, and makes sure the hardest stuff is drilled in. No surprises on exams, he knows exactly what to teach so you will succeed. If you are decent at math already statistics will be a breeze but even if not, studying and doing all the practice exams will get you an A+.
Very good notes and lectures. Does lots of practise questions in class. Reading ahead may seem confusing, but show up to class and he explains and it all makes perfect sense. He is the reason I'm taking the next STAT course next semester, as he is the instructor.
One of the best profs I've had. Really clear explanation of the content, and is very knowledgeable on the subject as well. Makes it really easy to understand and study for the midterm and final. Would recommend his sections greatly.
Stats 1000 was easily the hardest course i had ever taken. Its graded on so few things (only 3 quizzes and a midterm and final). Also if you dont pass the final, you wont pass the course. The prof is extremely good at explaining the material and posts everything online too. Very caring about students overall. Also very funny and makes lectures fun.
This is a very tough course for someone who isn't good at math, the teacher is an amazing explainer but is rarely there to help you outside of the classroom. Its easy to fall behind and get confused in this class, so always be in class, you get marks for showing up.
Explains all concepts in great detail. Excellent prof!
He did a very good job at teaching! He paced the course nicely. He also provides all the resources you need to succeed online of D2L, which is incredibly helpful.
Great prof. Very engaging and makes class interesting. He really knows what he is talking about and in both my opinion and what others have said hes the best stats prof. Highly recommend talking any of his classes
Wears the same hat everyday. Easy class, easy professors!
Explains all topics really well, and is a very knowledgeable prof!
I took the 3 hour once a week night lecture with him and he was fantastic. Kept you engaged for the full 3 hours without ever seeming like he was tired or didn't know his stuff. Posted tons of practice questions and the exams were fair with no tricking involved. Took this class years after stats 1000 and that didn't seem to affect me at all.
Awesome instructor and was very helpful. He wants the students to do well and succeed. Easy to listen to and was entertaining as well. I went to the stat lab every week and the folks there were super helpful too. It was such a good experience that I'm thinking of changing majors.
Enjoyed his class. Lots of people really struggled with stats as it is somewhat confusing, however, I thought it was quite straightforward. Worry more about whether or not you want to take stats before you worry about your prof. Personally tho, AM was an amazing prof and I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking the course.
Possibly the best prof Ive ever had, the uofm doesnt deserve him
One of the best profs at U of M!
He is straightforward in terms of materials that will be tested. His explanations help you understand statistics and its application beyond the scope of the classroom. Five star
He really cares if you understand or not. Be sure to sit in the front and self-studying is also important. This prof is awesome. If you fully understand everything in class, and practice only recommended questions, you'll find it's not hard to get A+. Good luck.
If you are a first-year,Andrew is your guy. He is caring, funny, and very knowledgeable. If you show up to class and pay attention, you will do fine. He also provides his students with plenty of practice questions, make sure to do them. Also, taking Applied 40s in high school is a bonus as a few things from it, like Venn diagrams are part of Unit 6.
BEST PROF. NO QUESTION. You take his lectures once and you'll love him. Besides his being extremely good at articulating complex problems, he really really cares about if you understands or not, and will always be there for you if you have the slightest confusion. You'll feel the course being much easier with his lectures and help.
Best prof I've had. His lectures/notes are so clear and organized, and makes you really understand the concepts. He really cares that his students thoroughly understand the material, and is easily accessible outside of class. Highly recommend going to every lecture. I chose a 3 hour night course for 2000 over a mwf so i could have him next sem.
Goes out of his way to give help sessions before exams, very willing to help during office hours, very clear explanations. super nice guy, great prof
Easily one of the best profs Ive had so far; he makes the material really easy to understand, and tells you exactly what to anticipate for the exams. His lectures are very clear, and I could tell that he genuinely wants everyone to get a good grade or at least pass. If you just show up to class and do the homework, you will definitely do great!
great person to be taught by. very clear about explanations and goes over things multiple times and explains multiple examples in very good detail. classes were never boring. pretty funny. highly recommend taking stats with him. always open to answering questions in class or outside of class.
This prof is amazing. He will never put trick questions on tests/exams. The practice assignments and exams are extremely helpful and if you study them will do very well in the course. He also provides great examples in class that are the same types of questions you get on the exam. He is also really funny and makes the lectures amazing! GREAT PROF!
THE BEST. Awesome lectures, very accessible office hours, fair exams and quizzes, provides plenty of practice (just make sure you do it!! You'll get an A if you do all of it) and funny. Do not skip class, HE makes the class easier. He can 100% teach you better than you can teach yourself, trust.
Andrew Morris is one of the best professors I've had. He is straight to the point and wants his students to succeed. Make sure to go to class as there are iclicker questions. His quizzes and exams are fair. As long as you understand his notes and go to class you'll get a good mark.
This guy is incredible! Felt like every time a question would begin to arise in my head he would answer it before I could fully formulate it. No surprise questions on tests. Was completely determined that students should understand material both during lecture and outside of class if needed. Need to take STATS 1000? Don't take it with anyone else!
If you ever need to take Statistics, do whatever you can to take it with him. This course gives you everything you need to do well, no need for a textbook, as ALL the necessary information is provided. The midterm and final are a breeze as long as you take the time to do the practice exams given, and attend the practice offered by Stats students.
He is the real deal. Take his class if there is room. One of the best profs i've ever had. Stats i'snt easy for everyone but he sure makes it seem that way. Read the notes and know your stuff, show up to class and you'll do fine. Highly recommend to everyone.
Morris is the best prof at the U of M. He makes note taking unnecessary as you can just listen to him intently and absorb absolutely everything. If you attend every class you'll barely need to study.
Very loud and clear in the lectures. Teaches at a quick pace, but sufficient if attended seriously. Avoid taking the 3-hour class, in which an insufficient break is given.
Probably my favourite prof so far. Extremely clear in his lectures and gives you absolutely everything you need to succeed in this class. Very knowledgeable on his subject and makes the class interesting.
Andrew is an amazing prof! If you are not strong in math but need STATS1000 as a requirement, definitely take Andrew!! He is so great at explaining difficult concepts and making things clear when they seem confusing at first glance. Can't recommend him enough!
Amazing! Best prof Ive ever had. Hes hilarious and a great lecturer. If you do all the assigned questions and go to class, so should get an A.
Pretty good teacher, explains his slides thoroughly and takes the time to make sure you understand. Lots of practice questions but do them and you'll pass
Andrew really gives you everything you need to succeed in statistics. The practice midterm /final questions are plenty, the tutorials are there for any additional help as well. In lectures, he goes through questions with you and might even give free iClicker marks. He is very clear on what you need to remember; very organized and professional.
Andrew is a great prof. He is really good at what he does and explains ideas very clearly. Really funny in class.
You can tell how much he cares about his students actually understanding the material. He is not just trying to get through the material, he really wants us to learn. He knows that the material can be dry, and tries to make up for it with sometimes funny jokes.
Andrew Morris is an amazing prof!! His lectures were clear and sometimes fun, and his use of dry humour lightened up the class. Im so glad he was my prof.
Probably one of the best profs I've had so far. Very clear, straight to the point, with the occasional joke. Conducts very fast paced lectures, but thoroughly explains everything. Very quick to email you back if you have questions. If you don't go to class you will fall behind very quickly. Do not push this class to the side or you will do badly.
I almost never leave prof reviewsbut Professor Morris is truly an incredible one, if you have the chance please take his course
Makes stats easy, go to class and pay attention and you will have no problems. Midterm and final are fair and not too hard. 100% recommend this prof if you want to get a good mark with minimal effort.
Easily could be top prof at the U of M overall. Made the course ridiculously easy, quizzes and exams were extremely fair, no trick questions, everything on them was taught multiple times in his lectures because he creates the exams so he knows what you need to know. 100% would take future course with Morris
Such a good prof, explains everything very well. If you go to the lectures and pay attention its an easy A. Labs aren't really helpful unless you have questions, but it depends on your TA. Multiple choice midterm and half the exam as well. DO the practice tests and you will be fine.
Best prof at u of m
Super helpful, genuinely invested in his students (even when they aren't invested in his class), definitely a solid prof. Explains things super well with an abundance of examples in his notes. Textbook optional.
For a guy that knew that no one in the room cared about that class, he did all he could to make it enjoyable for everyone. Fair exams and a gem of a guy. I cannot recommend him enough.
Absolutely one of the best. I've never enjoyed a class like his. Makes difficult subject easy to understand. For other courses I just wanted to stay at home and wonder if I really need education because they're that bad. But Andrew's class, I'd be upset if I didn't come.
a stats god. hands down the best stats prof at u of m i jumped at the chance to take 2000 with him after having him for 1000. the courses are easy on their own but he makes lectures interesting and engaging to attend since they are mandatory
HONESTLY AN EASY A CLASS. IF YOU TOOK STATS 1000 YOU WILL ACE STATS2000. I STUDIED 2 DAYS BEFORE THE FINAL AND STILL DID WELL. MAKE SURE TO DO THE PRACTICE FINALS AND MIDTERMS THEY ARE EXACTLY HOW THE MIDTERMS AND EXAMS WILL BE LIKE
he is the best prof i have ever had for any class so DEFINITELY take a class with him if you can
He is a great prof, sometimes funny, very accessible. He gives extra office hours if students need help. Lecture notes, practice assignments, practice exams are posted and highly recommend to do them. Best to practice the assignments, read slides before going to tutorials.
Best STATS prof at the U of M. He goes through problems 2 or 3 times with different examples and always does questions in class that will relate to the exam. He is slightly boring during lectures tho, and I found myself dosing off quite often. Make sure to sit beside someone who is listening so they can wake you when he moves on. All in all, 10/10
I had him for Stat1000 and Stat2000. The Best Professor I've had so far. His lectures are very clear and he explains concepts well.
Probability is a super tough class in general and theres no other professor Id rather of had for it than Andrew. I would ask him a lot of questions, but unlike some other professors where it didnt really feel worth the time asking, he really made sure every question I had trouble with made sense. Without a doubt the best professor Ive had!
I'm not a statistics major, but this class was brilliant. His lectures are very helpful, he always uses wonderful examples explained in an intuitive way, such that I understand why things work to a point that memorizing formulas is redundant, I can just intuit most of the problems using what I learnt.
really awesome
Just finished my second year and Morris is the best prof I've had. I took stats 2 with him because of how good he was at teaching stats 1. For both courses, he took the time to explain the material thoroughly and in a way that makes sense. He makes stats easy to understand. Stand up guy, amazing collection of baseball hats, 10/10 would recommend.
Great prof. Speaks fast and gets right to the point. always willing to help and if you go for extra help he will take as long as it takes until you fully understend the material. Highly recommend!
Andrew Morris is such a great professor, his notes are absolutely amazingly straightforward. I took STAT1000 with him, that I had to take 2000 with him. Though at times he can be monotone and a fast talker, but he'll randomly make jokes which brightens up the class again. Take advantage of the extra review class before the exam he provides!
I took this class with him for only STAT 2000 and he was great. You are provided with practice exams for both the midterm and final that is exactly the same format as the exam you will take. Lectures are entertaining as he jokes often but still extremely helpful. Does lectures of just practice questions closer to exam that are very helpful!
Definitely make Stat2000 10 times easier for students. His way of introducing a problem and explain course material is spot on. Talk a little fast sometimes but guarantee you cannot miss his explanation because he get straight to the point. Make sure to try the non-mandatory assignment with the provided answer because it do helps alot.
He is genuinely good at teaching. He makes it easy to grasp the concepts. He was also extremely caring and organized when we moved classes online because of covid19. You don't need any textbooks or outside resources. His notes are awesome. Print them out and write any extra details write on there.
Worst teacher dont take him at all you will regret it. Only teacher that uses lockdown browser in the maths deparment.
His way of teaching is exceptionally good. Would recommend this prof to everyone. I got an A+.
If you wanna fail your welcome to his class, to many strict rules and talks to fast that yo cant understand what he's saying
Good prof who gives an actual good lecture with just enough humor to keep you listening. His lectures are actually very important so although you might think you already know what he is talking about, just keep listening or you may miss the important part at any time. If you pay attention to his lecture and read his slides carefully, A to A+ EASY
One of the best professors at the university. Very clear with lecture material and he adequately goes through prerequisite content so you aren't lost entering the class. Class attendance is necessary (he does iClicker), but the posted notes are also sufficient if you miss class. Extremely fair exams - if you practice, you'll do well.
The best UOM Professor I've ever had.
The GOAT. Best professor I've had so far. Easily accessible by email. Cares about the wellbeing of his students. Syllabus and Schedule has everything you need to worry about. Lets everyone know about the important things & explains things when students are confused. Everything you need to know is the lectures and practices. 10/10 would take again.
I'm here to give this professor a 5/5. It's my second year at U of M and this professor is the best professor I have ever had. He speaks fast but logical, and he teaches so well that reminds me of the teachers back in high school where most teachers care about their students, good old days.
Absolutely amazing at explaining. Id read and take notes and not understand a single thing and as soon as Id watch his videos everything made sense. Explains in the best way possible and goes into details. 10/10. Amazing
By far, easily my favorite prof. especially during online learning, he has been hands down the most considerate and understanding of the situation giving lots of time to explanations and going out of his way to ensure that students have a good understanding of the content. Not to mention that his lectures are easy to understand and in-depth, 10/10
Great professor who is compassionate about difficulty in circumstances, especially during online learning during covid. From the beginning of class, all of his lectures for the year were available in-depth and easy to follow. His practice exams and assignments show you the exact layout of an exam with different numbers, so getting prepared is easy.
The professor was nice and caring but the grading is not too great, if there were assignments I would have passed and continued but the quizzes were 40% of the final grade and the midterm was 25% and the final was 35% which means if you failed 2 quizzes youre done for and the midterm was hard, the average for it was 60% for all of his classes.
Due to covid, Andrew's classes are not held synchronously and he posts videos onto UMLearn. You can tell he is very passionate about math and the way he explains things are broken down in a way that is step-by-step. He provides examples and practice questions in the vids you can do that are not in your notes. He makes stats1000 alot less boring.
Very clear and informative. Gives lots of examples and practice questions.
Andrew is definitely the best prof I've had so far. His lecture videos on UM learn were very clear and concise. He is the only prof I've had who is actually compassionate and showing empathy to his students during the pandemic. He is also easy to reach via email.
My best prof by far. Genuinely passionate about stats and wants the best for his students. Gives step by step explanations in pre-recorded lectures - easy to follow what he's doing. Gives tons of practice assignments and old tests for problems, responds quick to emails, even held extra review sessions before exams. Take from him if you can!
Andrew REALLY cares about his students, and would respond to emails fairly quickly. One of the best professors I've ever had. With a normal amount of effort, and as long as you understand + can apply simple concepts to your answers, this class is an easy A.
This prof is great, does a fantastic job at explaining concepts in depth and would definitley recommend.
An amazing professor that really cares about his students! He's a real gem from the University, will definitely be considered as one of my favourite professors forever.
Definitely one of my favourite professors. Posted all the lectures at once so you could watch them at your own pace and provided lots of practice questions and practice exams. Responded quickly to any email and is clearly passionate about the topic that he is teaching.
Andrew is the best professor I've ever had at the U of M. STAT 1000 is notoriously difficult, but this prof tailors all lectures to help ensure student success. 10/10
Took this course as an elective and it is fairly straightforward. The practice midterms/finals are more than enough to prepare you for each quiz and exam. As for the prof himself, this man truly goes above and beyond for his students.
Andrew provides very detailed videos, giving you with a clear understanding of topics. We were given many practice midterms practice exams and assignments. Its quite a bit of work but if you complete it all you'll do well. His quizzes don't copy example questions they expand on knowledge. We had 4 quizzes along with the midterm and exam.
Andrew Morris was my best prof for remote learning and super helpful. The class was run in a really logical manner. Lectures were pre recorded and easy to follow. Practice assignments came with detailed answer keys and were great prep for quizzes. If you understand the content in the practice assignments, you will do well on quizzes and exams.
I took his class with remote learning and he was amazing, he clearly explains concepts and goes through a ton of examples to make sure you understand. He's very compassionate and understanding, the course grade was curved down and that helped me to achieve my A+. I'm definitely taking STAT 2000 if he will be teaching it.
Andrew is one of the best professors I've ever had. Despite the circumstances, he adapted to online school effortlessly and went above and beyond to provide practice and help for students. If you do all the practice assignments and exams provided, you should be just fine but when you need help, he has office hours and review sessions before exams.
There are 4 quizzes and all of them worth 10% each of your final mark. mid-term is 25% of your final mark, there is no make up quiz or doesnt drop any low mark one. Only prof who uses lockdown browser with cam.
Andrew Morris is probably one of the greatest professors in the world. His lecture videos in remote learning were very extremely helpful and he explains the subjects very clearly. As long as you study, do the practice questions, and listen, you will do very well in his class. You can tell he really wants to see his students succeed.
Andrew was an absolute gem! He made sure to make his lecture videos as clear and noise-free as possible. He answered emails very quickly and explained how to do problems in great detail during his office hours. Despite the circumstance he made online learning much more tolerable and I would recommend him to anyone who's thinking of taking a stats c
If he is an option, take him you will be fat chilling for a great grade. So considerate and really makes all the material easy to grasp.
Morris was the greatest prof I've ever had. I have only positive things to say about him. He is very clear on what he wants and on what will happen. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat.
This year the course was done online. He was very accommodating to the situation people may be in due to the pandemic. Honestly if he wasn't so accommodating with the extra zoom hours and cheat sheets, I'm not sure if i would have passed
Fantastic prof. Entire course was pre-recorded lectures immediately available, not much content, and it isn't difficult. Even gives you a schedule to follow. Minimal time will get you an A. Tests are straightforward + relatively easy (4 of them), he does use Respondus but isn't a tyrant, nice genuine guy. Absolutely recommend.
He wants his students to get good grades so he puts in the effort to help them succeed.
10/10 Professor, take STAT1000 with him whenever possible. Lectures are clear and tests are very fair.
Best prof I have ever had. Lectures were clear and even during the pandemic still seems passionate about stats. Very easy to talk to as well.
This is the best class to take for your math requirement at U of M, and the best prof to take it with. There wasn't a lot to be graded on (only about 4 tests, a midterm, and exam) so you did have to make sure you were on top of things to get good marks. The content isn't hard so as long as you study you will do great!
Great prof, really caring. Online school made it somewhat tough though.
The BEST prof you will ever have He 100% understood the struggle of online pandemic school so he curved the grades mid semester, created multiple word docs/videos to condense the important stuff for units 5/6, gave us a freebie question on the final, all his videos were incredibly clear Nothing bad to say Recommend grants tutoring books they help
Andrew restored hope in me during this pandemic. His care for his students seeps through his teaching style. This is a professor who truly wants to see his students succeed and goes the extra mile so they can! Andrew goes above and beyond and will properly prepare you for tests and exams. If every professor was like him UofM would be a better place
THE best prof you could have for stats. He was incredibly understanding when most of the class struggled on certain units and would make reviews for the practice questions of the units we found most difficult. He has a tendency to over explain/go on tangents but honestly if you skip forward a couple seconds youre good. Great prof overall :)
I'm sure you've heard this a million times but if you're like me and look at the bad reviews first, this is your sign to take Andrew's class! I used to hate stats til I took his class, he's amazing at explaining, giving practice questions, and answering emails. He also goes the extra mile with midterm/exam review sessions, 11/10 recommend!
Andrew explains everything in the most complicated way. Watching Khan academy is much better than his lectures. I do not recommend it at all!!!
I loved this teacher so much because he was friendly and helpful throughout this tough time during covid (school was online). Class was easy, no homework but gave u tons of practice material that if u did them u would pass easily, quizzes after each unit, midterms and final was the same format as the practice exams, and responds quickly to emails.
Best prof out there at u of m. He sets his students up for success as long as you keep up with the lectures.
This is your sign to do whatever it takes to take stats with andrew. He is an amazing professor and cares so much about his students. Stats is a pretty easy course and he makes it even easier. One of the best profs at u of m by far. HIGHLY recommend.
Dropped the course with him. He seemed to be experienced in his job, but he is speaking so fast and rude over the emails and in the office hours. One of the worse experiences! The disadvantages are much more...
Extremely rude and unhelpful
Very clear with his explanations and really cares about his students. Especially during the strike, he took into consideration that students were stressed and full of anxiety. He kept us updated and informed. Great teacher
THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO TAKE STAT 1000 WITH ANDREW MORRIS. I have not taken any statistics before but this class alone made me seriously consider switching my major because of how well it's taught. Practice problems prepare you for quizzes and midterms well and because of the strike, he was very accommodating and made adjustments to the course.
Best prof. Cares a lot about students and is very accommodating. Very good explanations and is always open to answering questions.
Andrew is an absolutely fantastic prof, he makes the course so easy to understand and had been extremely accommodating throughout the term. great guy and great prof.
Super understanding and accommodating. Really thorough explanations and lots of practice questions for each unit. Hands down best prof Ive had at UoM, would highly recommend :) No textbook requirement either!! Provides notes & slides.
Very nice prof he wants students to do good, i would definitely recommend
He marks fairly and he makes exceptions in bad situations, like because of the strike this year he let us drop a quiz mark which saved a-lot of marks, and he lowered grade requirements when the midterm marks were low. He has recorded lectures but they teach you everything you need to know and has a-lot of extra practice for quizes and exams.
He speaks so fast and does not care if you pass the course or fail. He is also soooo rude over the emails. Absolutely a tough grader. I do not recommend it at all.
The course is not easy by itself. He seems to be an experienced prof but with unclear and fast explanations he made it more complicated. Thanks to Khan academy for helping me out to pass the course. Not recommend him.
It's an asynchronous class which I like, as it allows me to go in my own speed. He is definitely the best prof I ever had, he is very caring, he is the only prof that updated and made things easier during the strike. The course itself isn't difficult, but that could just be me (math has always been my strong suit). I would love to take him again.
Great teacher, accommodating and provides clear, direct responses to any question. Very rare to see at UofM.
A tough class, but he is very helpful and gives so much extra practice which is very helpful.
Definitely one of the best instructors I have ever had. Loved his style of teaching in the unit videos. If you have the chance to take a course with him, do it!
He actually cares about his students. He even rearranged the marks you need for each letter grade because he knew that everyone is going through hard times in pandemic. He is also great at explaining things. You just gotta practice as much as questions possible that he gives you for practice then you could get A+ too.
Super organized, great lectures, and provides lots of practice questions/exams. He even held review sessions before the exams. Overall great professor and made the course super enjoyable!
Best prof to have my first year omg! Obviously remote learning or the strike weren't t ideal but lectures were asynchronous (which was very nice as you can work at your own pace) and the notes made sense. He also held two live sessions throughout the term to completely go through the midterm review and final exam review with us. Overall 10/10 !!
He obviously cares about his students and wants them to do well. I found the lectures were clear and well-structured. There were many practice exams and midterms, some of which he went over himself. I greatly appreciated the detailed solutions for the practice assignments. My advice: you must do the assignments even if they arent for marks.
Hands down the best professor and I would strongly encourage taking his class. His lectures are clear and informative and his practice materials are everything you need to know to do well on the assessments. He's extremely caring for his students and takes the time to communicate and give us all the information we need to succeed in the course.
This class was delivered through prerecorded lectures. He explained everything really well and gives lots of practice material. The material itself is very easy, but having Andrew teach it enhanced the experience a lot. Very accommodating with the strike and transparent about all that was going on.
by far the best prof! very understanding and lectures were amazing. highly recommend him. this is your sign to take stat 1000 with dr Morris.
He was always available to help , lectures were readily available and even though classes were remote he was always available to offer help .I highly definitely recommend him !
Andrew has amazing lectures even if it was recorded and asynchronous during this pandemic. He's a real gem and is super accommodating. He sent frequent emails to everyone during test/exam time and especially during the strike and let us know he was with us, unlike other profs. Take stats with Andrew! You won't regret it
His lectures are extremely helpful and cover everything that is on his assessments. You just need to watch the lectures, do the practice assignments and the practice exams he provides to do well in the course. It's really hard to do badly in this course.
This class was chef's kiss.
My favourite prof. Lectures were easy to follow, lots of practice given, and the quizzes and exams were exactly like the practice. Literally just understand the practice problems and you are good to go.
Awesome prof! I took statistics with him and absolutely loved it! He is very caring and understanding. He also provides many sample exams and practice questions for every unit. He also holds review sessions before midterms & exams, which was very helpful. I enjoyed this class very much and I'm now hoping to take second year stats with him as well!
Loved his class, definitely would take him as a prof clear descriptive, and provides examples. Focus on unit 6 the hardest unit but otherwise just keep up with the schedule and you will succeed! No textbook, descriptive content.
Andrew is absolutely the best prof I have for now. I'd like to take more of his classes in the future!
very good and understanding prof!! will respond to emails immediately and assesments are similar to sample exams he gives us.
Professor Morris is a really awesome professor. Lectures were straightforward, there were lots of examples and practice questions, and you can always email him if you're confused about anything; he replies in a good amount of time. I enjoyed his humour and I wish I could have taken him in person Please take him if you get the chance /morris
Dr. Morris explains how to solve problems very clearly and sends weekly emails with reminders. It is a very organized course and he is clear with what he expects on quizzes and exams. He takes his time in lectures to explain everything well.
By far the best prof I've had. He'll go above and beyond to provide support, even if it hasn't been requested. On top of that, you can tell that Prof Morris really cares for his students and wants them to do well. As long as you study and do practice questions, his quality teaching will almost guarantee that you'll get a good mark.
explains things thoroughly but has really messy notes and lectures. grading isn't constructive at all and won't allow you to learn from your mistakes. it's supposed to be an intro course but its tests are far more complicated than the practice material.
I was required to take stat 1000 and Andrew was a great prof! He was always available for questions and gave tons of practice assignments (not for marks) to help. Some of the course material was difficult but he always went out of his way to make it as clear and easy as possible. If you have to take stats, take it with Andrew Morris!!!
I LOVED Dr. Morris. Please take this class with him if you have the chance. He is extremely caring to his students, and has a great sense of humor. His lectures are clear and thorough, and he emails frequently (this was online this year) to keep us updated on what we should be doing. He provides lots of practice material for this class. (/morris)
andrew is a great prof for a first year course, super easy to understand and very clearly explains course material. definitely would take a class with him again!!
Very hard to understand the material in class at the rate this guy teaches. Then lets us off class 30 minutes early.
Andrew Morris is the best prof I've had at this university, he takes the time to make sure we understand material, and provides plenty of practice for quizzes and exams
Professor Morris is one of the most caring teachers i've ever had both in high school and university. He is a bit intimidating and stern but will go above and beyond to make sure all of his students are on the right track and taken care of. 5/5 want him again in the future
One of the best Profs at the U of M
great professor! always prepared and provides lots of practice questions. My only critique is of the stats program not prof. morris - the assignments add little value to the in class material as they are purely based on rstudio. This means assignments can be quite time consuming but aren't adding practically any practice to course materials.
He really cares about his students. The lectures are very clear and interesting. Tests are not too difficult if you study well. Super accessible outside class, especially through emails. He replies basically until he is awake at night.
I took the course online in Winter202. Lecture videos online were very detailed and easy to follow. In general, this course is an easy A or A+ if you put time into it. Also posted lots of practice questions and exams before each quiz and exam. If you do all the questions, the exam and quiz would be VERY easy for you. Definitely recommend him!!
He's lecture heavy as in he goes through around 50 slides per class. He does a lot of examples during class and gives us key points whenever. Overall considerate as he reads our ratings and takes it into account to become a better professor.
I am not a math person at all but I have a lot of respect and admiration for Professor Morris. He was always so nice in class, very sympathetic, and very straightforward. He made the classes actually bearable even though I despise math. The lectures can be intense and sometimes tiring. Overall though great prof.
Professor Morris is an AWESOME professor! If you need to take any stat class try and take one that he is teaching. His lectures are fast paced but he does keep them interesting with his examples. He is super accessible by email and hangs around after class for questions. He is super friendly and actually cares about how his class does. 10/10 prof!!
Great Prof! Told a few jokes in class to lighten the mood, quizzes and assignments weren't too difficult. Show up to class and you'll do fine. Very caring, was absent first week due to having covid, still recapped everything the substitute covered while he was gone. 10/10 would take a course of his anytime.
He is just the biggest slay. He responds to emails within minutes and does everything he can do to help you do well in the course.
An outstanding professor that cares for his students, what else can you ask for?
Andrew is a wonderful and truly caring prof. Make sure to do multiple choice questions and practice problems for each unit as they are very similar to the questions on the quizzes/midterm/final exam. Attendance is not required but you should go to class as he works through extra practice problems that are not posted online.
his exams and tests are very hard and the software he used is what made the class so difficult, all of the assignments were r studios which were so complicated and hard to complete
He explains things thoroughly in a way that is easy to understand IF you're paying attention. I found it to be difficult because he talks really fast during lectures and I wasn't doing enough practice questions. MAKE SURE you keep up with assignments and DO practice questions throughout the course not just before exams.
If you stay up to date on his lectures and do the practice questions as the classes go on, you should do pretty well. I would suggest not underestimating the amount of content because there's a decent amount of information. Overall it is a doable class, and the practice that he provides is very useful.
He is an amazing professor. I recommend taking it with him as he is super caring about his students. He knows how to teach very well.
Andrew is the GOAT!!!!! Best professor I've ever had.
Amazing professor. Lectures and notes are easy to understand and grasp. Very passionate about what he does. Provides a lot of practice problems to help with midterms and finals. Gives good jokes.
A W prof but bro goes way too fast, turn ur head for one moment and he alr 5 slides ahead. If the flash was a prof
Amazing professor when it comes to teaching and providing examples for exams and assignments. However, when it comes to masks, he's the biggest stickler on campus. Be prepared to be reminded of mask policies every five minutes of his lectures, and if you favor comfortable breathing, don't take this class, sorry.
Overall a great prof. Uploads powerpoints used in lectures online and adds examples in lectures, not just reading off the slides. Made class very easy for math oriented people and not difficult for those who are not. If you do the multiple choice practice supplied, as well as the long answer problems, exams are easy.
Explains course material well, and notes are very detailed and easy to understand if you miss a class. He gives lots of resources for studying, so if you do the practice questions and practice exams the midterm and exam are a breeze.
He cares about the student learning a lot and explains everything very well. Whenever I asked a question, he was able to rephrase the answer in a way I could understand it. He's super down to earth and all in all a great prof.
Professor Morris was very enthusiastic about his teaching, he made lectures enjoyable considering the course is about statistics. If you do all of the practice questions and understand the theory, you will do well. If you have the motivation to succeed you will do just fine. 10/10 would 100% take it again!
I had him during Fall 2021 and he was very accommodating and preparing our class for the strike. His recorded lectures were really informative and the examples were pretty good. I think highly of him because of his teaching style and how he cares his students succeed. One of the best stats prof out there in my opinion.
Andrew was easily one of the best professor's that I've had to date. His notes are clear and helpful, he takes his time explaining important content and giving examples, and his tests are very fair. Highly recommend.
Love this guy, fr.
This guy is the best. Studying is so easy because he gives so many resources and his tests are very fair.
Andrew is very engaging, found his lectures easy to follow and this course fairly straightforward and simple. As long as you attend the lectures and put in the work, you'll pass.
There's a reason why Andrew has one of the highest Rate my Profs and it really is well deserved. He gives thoughtful and detailed explanations in class and genuinely wants students to learn. He is super caring and is always trying to improve his course to help students do better. Amazing prof!
He really cares about his students and he's always ready to answer questions. I really like the way he styled his hair everyday too. For the course itself, please don't underestimate this course and leave it till the last minute. I did that during my midterm and almost cried lol. DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS HE PROVIDES!!! They're super helpful
At first I didn't know what I was getting into with statistics, but as the course went on i really enjoyed it. Andrew was really funny and such a great prof. He really goes into detail with what we are learning and gives out PLENTY of practice material. So, the only way you can fail in this course is if you don't utilize the practice material.
Very nice professor. Designed the course to not require a textbook and provides plenty of practice which closely mimics the exam questions. He was very passionate about what he taught and made it as engaging as possible. Definitely recommend!!
all thumbs up from me
Amazing prof. Provided great explanations and ensured lectures were engaging. Supplied more than enough practice questions and additional resources to ensure student success.
Great Professor, he was very reachable for any question you had, either at the end of class, always promoted his office hours and would sit with people outside of class to explain further if they had any questions. Very funny super underrated. Almost made me want to do a career in stats. Better then Tessa had her for 2 classes much preferred Andrew
Professor Morris provided clear lectures, and would respond to emails very quickly if you had any concerns! I would definitely recommend him for anyone taking STAT 1000!!!
One of Andrew's favourite quotes that he told us several times throughout the semester is "to teach is to love, and to love is to teach". This perfectly describes Andrew as both a person and passionate educator.
Professor Morris is an engaging lecturer who really cares about student success. His clear explanations and plentiful practice materials made the course manageable. Unstuckstudy AI was a game-changer for my study prep - highly recommend giving it a try!
His lectures are very engaging. He is also very considerate of his students, and ensures that you have every possible piece of material to help you succeed. This class gives you a good idea as to how you're progressing. Labs were also flexible as you can attend any one. Only mandatory during quiz days.
Overall a very good professor
Terrible prof! Do not take the course with him. He is respectful in the class but rude in private!
Andrew Morris comes across as someone who cares very much for his students, as he never seems unprepared for his lectures. He makes sure we have plenty of extra resources to help us succeed in the course, (e.g. practice questions, practice problems, etc...), and always provides us with clear and concise info when something changes in the schedule.
Extremely entertaining lectures, I might listen to these even if I didn't have the class. He gave us no class the Friday after our exam just to give us a break which is very kind
for some reason he Kept saying to love is to teach and to teach is to love. other than that pretty good prof
Andrew is my best prof from my first year.f you are willing to go to class, Andrew will set you up to succeed. He explains topics very clearly and provides lots of practice material and information to have you ready for quizzes and tests. The best part, he puts things into perspective about life and school, definitely is a good PERSON
Very easy to understand. He has really good and clear notes, but his lectures are also extremely helpful to attend (also sort of needed for part of the grade). Has a good sense of humour and is very kind! 10/10 would recommend, makes statistics enjoyable.
Andrew Morris is such a great professor, he made learning statistics fun, interesting, and easy! I had a lot of nerves about taking this course, but ended up doing very well, it's important to go to lectures, as the notes may not make as much sense without explanation.
THE GOAT 🙌, trust me he is him. Andrew Morris such a cool dude. He was accessible, always came prepared with handwritten notes to go along with slides. Tons of practice questions with videos to explain. You can tell when someone cares about their students and I can tell he wanted us to succeed. For his first time teaching STAT1150, exceptional.
The GOAT 🐐. Andrew went out of his way to help students throughout the whole semester, since STAT 1150 has a lot of first years. He always came well prepared to class, slides were well made, and whenever an issue was found, he'd correct the mistake immediately. Didn't even know it was his first time teaching STAT 1150 until he told us lol
I can safely say I'm very grateful to have had Andrew as a professor in my first semester of university. He was an incredibly caring, smart, and worked hard to make sure he set up his students for success every step of the way. Not only a good prof that makes life easier for his students, but a great person who puts things into perspective as well.
Best prof I have ever had. Extremely helpful and clear in lectures, making it an easy pass if you put the work in. You can tell he really cares about how everyone does in his classes. Would 100% recommend!
man is a blessing from god, quizzes are easy final exam was hella easy if you study chapter 5-9. midterm was hard but not too hard, study chapter 4 mostly otherwise this men is a blessing, sweet, kind, caring, gave us free marks out of nowhere, stress free, GAVE US A FREE MARK IN THE FINAL EXAM. this man is truly inspirational. take him no matter
Andrew provides everything you need to succeed in this course. Lecture notes were detailed. Loads of practice questions & video solutions for every unit. ~3 iClicker questions per class, sometimes he gave free answers. Exams were really fair with no tricky questions, exactly what you'd expect if you did all practice q's. Best prof ever.
Andrew is by far the best prof I've ever had. This man is so nice, (he literally gave us a free mark on the final exam!) and you can just tell he cares so much for his students. He's funny, and his lectures are amazing. Explains even the most confusing concepts so clearly, and makes emphasis on concepts most students struggle with. 10/10 prof :)
I want to make it extremely clear that if you ATTEND the lectures, do the assignments, and do the practice questions provided. You will do well in the course. The practice questions and what Andrew explicitly emphasizes in his lectures is nearly identical to what's on the exams. Amazing prof, funny with extremely clear and concise explanations.
Truly an amazing professor. Always says and repeats what's important, so if you pay attention it's an easy grade, while you're still learning. Recommending him to all my friends 100%
I am surely taking course with Mr.Morris. He is really a great instructor and he knows really how he teaches. He is great . His course schedule and materials are more than helpful and looking eagerly taking higher and tougher courses with him.
I believe he doesn't want to hear people and when you ask questions in the class he doesn't respond to you. I can't believe how many times I asked the teacher to help me but he didn't help me . He always says he is unavailable. I would recommend to do your research though .
The best prof I have had. Very straightforward and easy to understand. Provides tons of practice questions that are the same as quiz's and exams. Explains everything very well, honestly the GOAT fr.
Andrew is an incredible teacher who obviously cares about his students and wants them to succeed. If you go to his lectures, the content will make sense because he explains it so well, and if it doesn't, he is more then happy to explain it in his office hours. He will go above and beyond if you ask for help! Take this professor if you can!
Dr. Morris is an amazing prof. The course is structured so you're not punished if you miss a few lectures. He gives amazing lectures and always wants to see students succeed. He is one of the small group of professors that truly cares about their students. Dr. Morris, if you're reading this, keep doing what you're doing!
Easy to understand lectures with all lecture notes being posted at the beginning of the term. Practise tests and solutions are all posted to help with all the quizzes, midterms, and even exams. All solution videos are easy to watch and explain all the solutions (1.5x or 2.0x speed to make for quick study sessions/review). IClicker for participation
Andrew is a great teacher, my second time taking STATs and it was 100% better with him, although he goes kinda fast through the material it was because we were a bit behind, but overall great prof and would definitely take his class again
He's one of the best profs at the UofM. Clear and detailed lectures. Could tell he truly wanted his students to pass the course. The practice questions and solution videos were extremely helpful as well. Do the practice questions and the tests will feel like a breeze. He's the goat
He is such a great prof! He makes learning so much more fun and as long as you're able to do the practices on each topic and pay attention in class, you'll do just fine and I definitely recommend taking him for any stats.
Genuinely such a great prof. He's very nice and explains things well in class. He does use iclicker in class but personally I found it to be helpful because he'd go through specific problem types in class that prepared me better for quizzes. Also the iclicker grade is only worth 5% overall and if you get 75% of questions right you get the full 5%.
hes a good prof and wants you to understand, also really helpful with questions and he keeps you engaged throughout the lecture
very funny
Andrew was a good prof. He taught material well but was a bit technical making it harder to understand in comparison to Tessa Reimer. Still, a good prof and was happy with my grade.
Kindest professor I have ever seen. Puts nothing above the well-being of his students and would do anything to help you to do well in his class. It is very obvious that he knows what he is talking about and always comes to lectures with extra preparation done. Would gladly take his class again!
just listen and you will be fine. great prof
He is literally the best prof ever. He has clear detailed notes and genuinely cares for his students and wants them to succeed. If you can take his class!!
Amazing Professor that Genuinely cares for his students and does everything he can as well as spending much of his personal time to help. Preparing notes, practice questions and solutions. If you see him while registering, register fast!
Explains concepts thoroughly in class and gives access to many (helpful) practice problems. Very easy to succeed in this course.
Very detailed but enjoyable lectures and did lots of iclicker questions and examples. He thoroughly explained the concepts and obviously cared about seeing his students succeed.
He is one of the few professors I find that truly care about his students. He makes sure that we have enough resources to succeed in his class, from in class iclicker questions to practice assignments to do on your own time. He made STATS enjoyable and very engaging!
The most dedicated prof I've every had. Lectures were excellent and always well prepared. He provided an abundance of resources for students, including hours of video solutions for practice MCQs, and sent detailed emails about exams, quizzes, assignments, etc.
Andrew is the best professor for this course, incredible lectures and he explains exactly what he expects from students. He is very kind and makes great jokes during class, would definitely take him again!
He is absolutely amazing. His lectures were engaging and he was very easily accessible outside of class. He also genuinely wanted us to succeed. #1 PROF EVER
Morris is the best prof you'll have in your university career. He checks every box and I would suggest taking any class you potentially can with him. Awesome guy and hope he knows he's great!
Andrew is an exceptional instructor and very caring. He gives you absolutely everything you need to succeed and explains concepts in an engaging, intuitive way. I would take him again for every class if I could!
Professor Morris explains the material very well and provides a TON of examples and practice problems. Exams are very similar to practice problems. Only complaint is that the lecture notes he provides are very long winded and I sometimes felt that topics were over explained.
Excellent professor. Organized, clear, straightforward. A competent grade 8 student could pass his class. Not that it wasn't difficult, but if you followed his instructions and did the things he recommended you WILL succeed. He cares deeply about his students and always willing to answer questions.
Makes learning easy. Very friendly and approachable. Show up to lectures and do practice problems and you'll do good.
Great course, I never go to class so I appreciated the clearly explained notes of class slides he posts online. When I did go to class I felt he was a fast paced, but clear and effective instructor. Genuinely one of the best classes I took winter semester :))
stats goat fr
He explains everything so well and clearly genuinely cares about teaching well.
Great course. This prof really knows and loves what he does. He posts clearly explained notes online and doesn't require the text book! He was a well paced, and at the same time clear and effective instructor. Genuinely one of the best classes I took so far!
He seems knowledgeable and organized, but the class moved a bit fast and the lecture were mostly slide-based. The teaching pace was little quick which makes hard to keep up.
Andrew Morris was a great professor. He was extremely concise, knowledgeable, and nice. I will be taking stats 2000 because of Mr. Morris
This guy loves his students and stats. I have never had someone explain things to me in a way that was so straight forward. He makes stats sound like english. I love being able to easily follow along with slides as well. This is a voluntary response btw.
Prof. A. Morris is easy to understand. (Also funny). He is well respected, and encouraging. Very open to questions during lecture and to helping students pass the course. Explains concepts and ideas well. Most clear and easy to follow along with professor. I would take another class with him.
the best teacher ever! yipee
Awesome slides!
Best Prof ever. Great pacing and slides and truly cares about his students success.
This prof knows what he's talking about and makes classes engaging through practice questions on i-clicker.
Prof. Morris is very knowledgeable, he provides lots of visuals (like graphs) when explaining topics which I find very helpful. He explains things very clearly, the quizzes & exams are very feasible if you come to the lectures, listen, and practice. iClicker questions are helpful as well, he explains how to solve questions step-by-step.
He provides enough time for clicker questions, allowing us to work independently and identify our mistakes before he explains the answers. His teaching style is engaging, like storytelling, showcasing his exceptional skills in the course and his classes are lively!! I'm truly impressed and happy I took Stats with this professor 100% recommend!!! :)
I brought my friends from other sections with other professors to his class, because he was so much better than other professors.
I was very worried about this course, since I tend to struggle with math a lot, but he is genuinely so amazing at teaching, his lectures are easy to follow, and his slides are very easy to comprehend. He is one of those professors who genuinely sets you up for success. He also provides a lot of practice questions for midterms and exams!!!
As someone who hasn't taken a math course in a very long time, I loved taking stats with professor Morris! His slides and explanations are always easy to understand and he provides helpful examples. There is a lot of available practice content that is great for studying!! He really seems to care about his students success!! One of the best profs!!!
I absolutely loved Andrew! He clearly cares about his students and out of all the profs I've had, he is the best at communicating outside of class. He makes the material super easy to understand and is very encouraging throughout the learning process. I recommend him to anyone that tells me they want to take this class.
I heard such good things about him but his teaching style is not it, be ready to read tons and go through a total of 700-800 slides of doom. If you have some type of disability, I would recommend against taking his class; his teaching style is not friendly towards neurodivergent folks or even those who struggle in math generally.
Andrew genuinely cares about his students and their success. He gives you many recourses (practice questions, solution videos) and communicates any changes very well. He has often moved quizzes or assignments around to reduce workload and help you get the best chance to succeed. He talks pretty fast so you have to make sure you are focused in class.
Best professor, Andrew cares a lot about his students and their success, obviously you need to do work and try in the class but he gives you every tool for success. His lectures are clear and he nails down super important topics. Fair grading system, drops a quiz/assignment, and drops a couple worksheets. If i could rate him higher than 5/5 i would
To the last bad review; just say your stupid bro. Dont expect him to teach kindergarten math in a university lecture hall. Professor Morris is the goat, and if you have issues with him, you might wanna consider it being more of a you problem.
His teaching style isnt for everyone, lectures are fast paced and heavy, however they contain everything you need and are always available, giving you time to take your own notes . He provides exceptional resources on umlearn, will answer any question, and is very up to date on emails. He wants students to succeed, but you need to put in the effort
Lectures are easy to understand, and concepts are explained in a simple way and use real life examples. He makes sure to point out common mistakes, which is super helpful for test prep. So many practice questions, that felt very similar to material on exams and quizzes.
Can't find a negative point to talk about
He covers a lot in class, but provides great UMLearn materials and very helpful updates with emails. I highly recommend this professor.
He really takes his time making sure we understand the concepts and going through many examples before introducing something new. If you attend the lectures and put in the bare minimum for studying, you should do well. To the reviewer who erroneously referred to the slides as "doom": do not mistake your lack of effort for anything but your problem.
Don't get his hype tbh lol don't blindly select him by looking at the ratings here, go to lectures and then decide for yourself if you want to stay in his class
WE LIVE ANDREW!! He's genuinely a prof that cares about your understanding and wants you to succeed in his course. He may go a little quickly but that isn't necessarily a negative with how well he explains things! He's hilarious and I always looked forward to attending his class.
Andrew was a lovely professor, always really nice. He kept the material engaging but simple, and breaks down big topics very effectively, the structure of the lectures was consistent with a good balance between new material and practice questions (though there are a lot of them, which I personally found to be helpful). Overall a great professor!
Aside from his lectures being very digestible and comprehensive, Andrew takes every opportunity he can to ensure that students can succeed in the course, whether it be through deadline adjustments or the practice material he offers. I truly believe that anyone can get an A in STAT 1150 with Andrew as long as they are willing to put in the effort.
Professor Andrew is genuinely the best professor I have had in my first year. He might speak quickly, but his words are totally comprehensible. He even explained where the lecture room and the exam room are located.
Lectures are super entertaining, he's great at explaining concepts and the questions tested are exactly like the practice problems given. He made me want to take more stats classes. You will not regret taking his class.
hilarious guy, just do the practice multiple choice questions and show up to lectures for the iclicker questions and you're chilling
Great guy. No textbooks is a huge dub. I give my highly valued opinion of reference.
His lectures are really good and it is clear that he cares about his students. But the class isn't necessarily easy if you don't study. His slides are really good when in class because they're so thorough, but they aren't perfect for individual reviewing because there are so many of them. Therefore, make sure to consider taking notes!
He is a really caring professor who made it clear from day one that he will not make us use a textbook. Something I appreciated about him is that he would tell annoying people to shut up if they were talking all the time
Funny guy, GREAT at explaining everything, gives lots of clarification. I wish he taught all the courses I took. Attendance isn't mandatory but iClickers are worth a portion of your grade.
He is one of the best prof I've ever had. Even though he speed through the materials quite quickly, but there are a lot of practices outside of class. Make sure to finish those and you'll ace the course easily.
Great prof, lectures were engaging, he's really funny without being one of those profs who's constantly making jokes at the expense of actual learning. Provides tons of practice questions with detailed solutions for both long answer and multiple choice questions. Just don't fall behind and you should be good.
Had an amazing term with this prof, he was funny in the lectures and answered questions well. He is very nice and wants to see you do well, he communicates often so you don't forget deadlines and quiz dates. PLEASE take this prof if you're taking stats!!!!
A someone who hates math in general, Just seeing Andrew teaching with so much intense and passion up there, just inspires me to want to re take STAT 1000 again and fall in love with the course.
he is just awesome
For somebody teaching the class for the first time with so many mistakes on his slides and practice solutions, you would think he would be more compassionate and lenient.
