Of all the Classics TAs, Andy is the coolest by far. Incredibly smart. Has a lot of class... Lookin' good.
Very good lecturer, very clear in his explanations. Tests are tough but with some decent studying, you should be able to manage at least a B. Take Nichols, he knows what he's talking about if you want to learn Greek history. 10 quizzes and 2 tests in a semester is tough but a good class.
Very good lecturer, very clear in his explanations. Tests are tough but with some decent studying, you should be able to manage at least a B. Take Nichols, he knows what he's talking about if you want to learn Greek history. 10 quizzes and 2 tests in a semester is tough but a good class.
LOVE this guy. Hardcore lecturer, might want to bring a laptop to get it all down, but he knows his stuff, loves it, and it's hard to be bored. Tests require some serious studying but I loved the challenge. He grades fairly and is very willing to help out or just talk more about the subject. A very very welcome addition to the UF Classics faculty.
Really good teacher. Bring laptop. Keeps it interesting. Not too hard. Take this class if he's teaching it.
Excellent lecturer! Engages you in the topic. What he says is on the quizzes and tests, so pay attention to everything! Great professor!
Very good teacher, he is great in his lectures. Keeps the stories interesting and funny with his side comments. Take the greek class if he's teaching it, really interesting. Tests require a bit of studying.
Make sure to go to class and read the textbook. His lectures are easy to understand and he keeps it interesting. Overall a good professor. I enjoyed this class.
Greek/Roman Myth. All I have to say is Show Up For Class Do NOT miss a day He says too much important stuff in one lecture period. He's funny so the class isn't too bad to go to.
He's so hot...
Go to class. Study the day before tests. Read textbook, easy B if not an A. Really enjoyed the class. Best professor I've had so far.
Makes mythology interesting and is pretty funny, just go to class and read the textbook and you'll be fine.
He is so cute and makes silly little jokes all the time. He covers a lot of material each lecture, so definitely attend. The tests are very doable if you show up, take REALLY GOOD NOTES and study them. I always studied the day before. He also gives super easy quizzes. If you try you'll get an A. If you half try, you'll get a B. GREAT COURSE.
He is so fine,he makes cute jokes and is not monotone. i had him for classical greece and greek myth the class was easy just come to class and take notes and you will be golden
He's sooo funny loved the class. You show up you'll get a good grade if you don't you'll miss a lot but his lectures aren't bad to go to.
Professor Nichols was probably the best professor I've had at UF. He really loves the material he teaches which makes going to lecture fun--he always has funny jokes and anecdotes that relates to the topic. His class is easy if you attend, you do not even have to read.
This was a pretty interesting class and professor Nichols is really cool. The whole class is notes based SO DON'T MISS CLASS even though attendance is not mandatory. He's super charming and the material isn't dull, so it was a decently easy A
You can tell he doesn't really enjoy teaching this ridiculous class. It's so easy but a waste of time. Nichols is a good teacher but his lectures get boring and wordy. However, If you go to class you don't need to do any of the readings because he explains them all well enough for the exams and essays. his TAs are generally good too.
He's a nice guy but he talks way too much and his lectures are a drag. He goes too quickly through the slides so it's hard to copy down notes and listen to what he has to say. Easy class though.
Had him for What is the Good Life. This class mainly depends on your TA. I had an easy TA so the class was easy. Professor Nichols would summarize all the readings on his powerpoint in class. All you had to do was pay attention and take notes and you dont have to read the readings. Occasionally he made jokes. Overal a nice, chill professor.
He is very easy to understand and it is clear that he is very passionate about his field of work. It was a pleasure to attend this class with him as the professor.
The course material itself is not too interesting, but lectures were not painful because of Nichols. Tests and quizzes took some studying, but not too bad. He can get very specific on the exams. This class isn't the easiest international credit, but if you pull your weight, it'll pay off.
Though it is your TA that does most of the grading, Nichols always kept my interest during lectures. Never dreaded having to go to this class by any means. His notes are clear and along with Smokin' Notes make this class a relatively easy A.
Best professor ever. Nichols is da bomb. Took 5 classes with him. Look over your notes occasionally and you will be fine. He is hilarious and entertaining. If i had time in my schedule I would go watch his lectures just for fun. He is super cool and really enjoys what he teaches. Do not need your textbook if you go to class. I never used mine.
His lectures are very entertaining and going to them is like a win-win situation, especially due to the emphasis he places on various subjects as well as key events that are about to take place. A very fair and diligent professor....
NICHOLS IS MY HERO. HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE WHOLE WORLD! I TOOK LIKE 8 CLASSES WITH HIM. HE IS CUTE AND FUNNY AND SUPER DUPER ALL AROUND. I NEVER BOUGHT A TEXTBOOK. NEVER MISSED A LECTURE, NEVER WANTED TO. HE IS FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING.
Great class to learn about something other than math or science
he's great, I really enjoyed him for the What Is The Good Life class, he's really clear in his lectures and he knows what he's talking about. he's pretty funny
He's awesome and he makes Good Life not seem like such a pain in the ass. I would absolutely recommend him for that class. Keep in mind, he is only a lecturer. Your TA means everything in Good Life, Nichols does not grade anything.
Nichols is pretty good! His lectures help you a lot he goes in depth which means you don't have to you! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Dr. Nichols adds some personality to Good Life and made it more enjoyable to be there. His lectures are basically supplements of what you're supposed to read for homework with some review. As long as you go to lecture and read what's assigned, doing well should be no problem with him. He's very approachable and funny too.
Without Dr. Nichols, Good Life would have been much less interesting. His personality makes class a bit more fun, and he explains everything clearly and what you have to do to get an A. Going to class helps because he reinforces the stuff you're supposed to read-and it's mandatory. But just go and you'll probably enjoy it!
Lectures are pretty interesting. Very easygoing class.
Good Life is known as a genuinely boring class. Dr. Nichols makes it somewhat interesting. He is about the best you can get for the mandatory class.
One of the best professors I've had. Makes the material fun and interesting. Two exams, 5 quizzes with the lowest quiz grade dropped and one pop quiz. If you pay attention in class, take notes, and study in advance, you should be able to do well in the class!
Im going to make this succint. I took the unconventional route to completing this class. I made quizlets and found some previously posted quizlets. Studied them RELIGIOUSLY and got an A. NEVER once did a reading. However, I only succeeded because I crammed HARD and was able to thoroughly memorize. Nichols is so chill and a great teacher/dude. Take!
Nichols was a great professor and did an excellent job delving into the text. The workload was the norm for a translation course. Exams were fair in the selections chosen. Nichols is also funny and cares about his subject and students. Would definitely recommend to classics students
He only does the lectures, so the grade you receive is dependent on the TA you have. As long as you show up to lecture and listen, you really do not have to do the readings. An easy A, but the class is pretty boring.
Honestly this class pretty much depends on your TA, but mine was great so it was easy. It's a bit boring and it drags on after the midterm since theres no final anymore. It's an easy A though, only annoying thing is that attendance is mandatory and apart of your grade so you have to show up. His lectures are interesting though so it isn't too bad.
This class is pretty easy. Make sure you somewhat pay attention in class or read the assigned readings. It is all based on the readings. That being said, this class is all about your TA. The TA can make this class super easy or impossible. Get a good one, and this class is ridiculously easy.
Nichols is a cool dude. P casual. Consistent in his cargo pants and plaid button downs. Powerpoints are long and not esp interesting, listening to him lecture is entertaining tho. He is funny and enthusiastic for his subject matter which is probs the best part. 10/10 would visit his class again.
Read the textbook and go to class or get notes from someone who did. This man literally had a traveling bard come in and sing the Odyssey to us instead of lecturing.
Dr. Nichols makes class so fun. He gets so into the lectures, and it's clear that he really loves mythology. He's super funny and his class is really easy. There are a few quizzes and exams per semester but they're straight from the lectures and study guides, so they're easy to pass. I'm gonna try and take him for good life next semester.
Dr. Nichols is a great Professor, and I highly reccomend taking his class! He makes the subject really interesting and funny, and as long as you show up to lectures youll pass. His exams and quizzes are easy if you study, and he curves! One time he put two questions he hadnt taught yet on an exam, and gave everyone credit anyway. A real gem!
Amazing class, definitely recommend. He makes it fun
Dr. Nichols is an amazing lecturer. The class itself is fairly easy if you just go to lectures and take decent notes (his powerpoints are really just outlines so they won't be much help come test time). Lectures however are not difficult to sit through, the subject matter is interesting enough and he makes it very entertaining.
Nichols was a very good professor. He's funny and knows what he's talking about. He was always willing to answer questions and liked to provoke some internal questioning as well. Grading wise, it depends on your TA, but overall, the class was fairly easy and insightful.
Professor Nichols' lectures are interesting and have a plentiful amount of information. He always adds little anecdotes to make sure everything is understandable. The class really depends on the TA you get, but Professor Nichols is super nice, approachable, and informative!
TAKE THIS FOR YOUR INTERNATIONAL CREDIT!!! Nichols is the best. The class only consists of a couple quizzes and three exams but it was all very fair. I did not use the textbook, but I attended every lecture and took really good notes and the class was a breeze for me. Purely memorization.
If you go to class and take notes the tests/quizzes are easy. Lectures are pretty similar to the textbook. He makes the material really interesting and entertaining. If you memorize the information in the lectures it's an easy A.
dont take good life
Dr. Nichols is a great professor, one who makes you actually want to go to class. His lectures are intertwined with jokes that make it seem like you're spending less time than you actually are in the classroom. Reading is unnecessary as long as you go to lectures and take notes. He is great and doesn't overbear his students at all.
Super funny lecturer who makes the material enjoyable. Show up to class and take detailed notes, as the quizzes and exams are almost entirely based on memorization. If you study for an hour or two before exams, you should be fine. Easy A if you try, but be wary of kids who keep asking stupid questions to try and flex their Percy Jackson knowledge.
I really wish that I was able to take another class with him. While class is low-key not mandatory, I still wanted to show up because he always made the lectures interesting and funny. He does not try to trick you on the exams; if you study and read the textbook, you'll pass with a good grade. He posts study guides that are straight-forward.
Literally the best professor I've had yet. He's hilarious, easy-going, and the material is extremely easy to understand. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want to skip reading, GO. His lectures are entertaining and he doesn't put anything on the test that he doesn't bring up himself. Easy A and easy International credit!
Professor Nichols presents the material in an engaging way and is a really funny guy. You could probably get by without going to class and just reading the text, but Prof. Nichols is more interesting than a textbook. The topic can get super complicated, but he's very clear about what you need to know and won't try to trick you on anything.
Great teacher and great subject! He makes lectures funny and interesting but you need to go to class because powerpoints are very minimal. Textbook is optional but it helped me fill in the blanks when I missed something in class (he lectures pretty fast). As long as you pay attention and study notes, you will get an A
Andrew Nichols is the best professor I have had at UF, I highly recommend. If you pay attention to the lectures the exams wont be too hard. The class is graded on 3 exams and a few quizzes so they do matter. The textbook isnt necessary but it helps.
I took this class out of interest and it turned out to be one of the best. Nichols gives exams and quizzes based on his lectures but is very clear on what you need to know. Very easy to pass and actually convinced me to take up a classics minor.
This is my 2nd time with Dr. Nichols. I took this class because of him; he is easily one of UF's best professors. He does class discussions, and things talked about in discussions are on exams, so I'd go to class even though attendance isn't taken!!! The quizzes/exams are easy if you watch the movies and do the readings. The movies are great too :)
I had Dr. Nichols for honors What is the Good Life? He was comedic during his lectures and asked insightful questions, so I actually looked forward to going to his lectures. A decent bit of your grade is dependent on you showing up, but since he makes it fun, you won't mind going. Only reason why difficulty is not 1 is because grading is by your TA
Professor Nichols has been great. I had him online during the covid summer and he's been extremely helpful and understanding of our circumstances, and clearly knows a lot about and cares about the topics. The class was based only off of four quizzes and two exams, but they came straight from the lectures, and it was very easy to do well.
Hes pretty great. You can pass the class without the textbook, but it helps reiterate his lectures. Overall an easy A if you study.
Good life legit depends on your TA so I don't even know why they tell you that you have a professor. TA's grade like we are literature/ humanities majors when assignments should actually help you understand the aspects of a good life and diff. properties of such. Weekly DBP are so dumb. can't believe this stupid class is about to ruin my perf. GPA
I love Professor Nichols. CLT3370 is probably the most entertaining class I've ever taken and Professor Nichols is the best. He even rounds off your grades and all his quizzes and exams are straightforward and easy. If you're ever doubting whether or not you should take his class,, stop doubting, just do it! You won't regret it.
Professor Nichols was so enthusiastic about the course and it was quite evident that he loves what he does. Although the class is only graded by the quizzes and exams, he does drop the lowest quiz grade. Professor Nichols brought such a positive energy to the class and made his lectures easy to listen to. I would love to take him again.
One of the only classes I can truly say I am sad it's ending. Dr. Nichols is an amazing person overall. This class is very interesting and is relatively easy if you simply take lecture notes. The class only has a few quizzes and tests but the lowest is dropped.
Dr. Nichols does not teach the class. You only get to talk to and see your TA. The discussion board posts were easy to do, but were graded harshly. The papers are also graded harshly considering that this class is boring and required by the university.
Dr. Nichols is the GOAT and the best professor I've had at UF. His lectures are amazing and hilarious. His quizzes and exams are super easy as long as you take decent notes and go over them a couple of times. I urge anyone that wants a fun and easy class with a fantastic professor to take a course with Dr. Nichols because you will not regret it!
Dr. Nichols was absolutely amazing! Super fun class to take and he was very lenient with us due to the circumstances and being online.
Nichols is the best. He loves mythology. Hes really nice and organized especially during COVID-19. Just take good notes. Dont get the textbook unless you like to read. Study notes the day of quizzes and exams and youll be fine. Grade depends on a few quizzes and 3 exams and he drops the lowest quiz grade. Take it easy international credit.
Dr. Nichols is one of the best and easiest professors I've had during my time at UF. He would be extremely thorough in his lectures and as long as you paid attention and took some notes down, you were golden for his quizzes and tests. He cares deeply about all of his students and was a joy to have during such a bad year.
I absolutely loved this class. There are 4 quizzes and 3 exams that are not cumulative and are super easy if you go to class and read the textbook. He's really passionate about the topic and his lectures are entertaining and funny. I highly recommend taking this class if you can.
Good Life is a required class. The material is very easy but requires a significant amount of writing per week. Each week consists of a discussion post (1-3hrs) and short readings that you can skim. This class is entirely taught by a TA, not Nichols. The writings are graded harshly for an otherwise easy class. Only 50m of lecture a week.
He's clearly passionate & very accommodating w online exams/quizzes, which were fairly straightforward & based on lectures. His recorded lectures were rly heavy on information, though, so I spent a lot of time taking notes from them. I'd recommend taking this only if you REALLY love mythology and are fine memorizing story after story all semester.
Absolutely adored this prof and course. He cares so much and is so passionate. If you even have a slight interest in mythology, please take this class. Nichols is amazing and the material I learned was so interesting. You have to read the textbook and make sure you understand everything but the tests are super straightforward. Favorite class!!
This class was required and mostly taught by TAs. Ive never even spoken to or written an email to Professor Nichols, so he is pretty much uninvolved. The level of toughness on grading depends on your TA. Other than that, be ready write a lot every week.
Professor Nichols made a normally unenjoyable class actually enlightening. Discussions were engaging, but his cold-calling required attentiveness and preparedness. I took the Honors section, so Nichols was my sole instructor and grader. He was very lenient and responsive, but had high expectations (weekly discussion posts were often 600-800 words).
Dr. Nichols was my favorite teacher this past semester. He's extremely knowledgeable on this subject and makes all the lectures interesting. If you like Greek mythology even a little bit, I recommend this class. You are only graded on four quizzes and three exams. Attendance wasn't taken but I do recommend going to class or watching the lectures.
Prof. Nichols is a beast. Super knowledgeable on the subject and anything that is on the test is covered in lecture. I didn't open the textbook once. Just watch the lectures and follow the study guide. 4 quizzes and 3 exams is the entire class.
This class was the highlight of my semester and I cannot recommend it and professor Nichols more. The lectures are the only thing I used to study for this class and it is all based on quizzes and tests, but they are easy if you pay attention and study briefly. I did this class during covid but if you miss a lecture he uploads it, so no harm no foul
The lectures were always really interesting; I actually looked forward to attending his class. If you attend the lectures and take decent notes, you probably won't need to read the textbook or study ever. Quizzes and exams were super straightforward and basic. Nichols is the best. I look forward to taking more classes with him!
Do yourself a favor and take a class with Dr. Nichols. He is the absolute best lecturer I've ever seen and is truly passionate about the subject. Took it online because of COVID and it was probably the most fun I've ever had in college with the zoom chat and groupme. Go to class and take notes and you'll do well in the quizzes and exams.
Professor Nichol's class was amazing. It was online during the pandemic but the atmosphere amongst the students was great and the chat was always filled with hilarious jokes and Professor Nichols was always humorous. The class itself was easy as cake and all the quizzes came straight out of his lectures. Definitely recommend!
Professor Nichols is a solid choice for completing the Quest 1 requirement through IDS1161. The majority of students are assigned to a TA, but I was in a Nichols discussion section. He makes sure to get everyone involved in debating various topics related to the readings and discussion posts. Be sure to start the two essays early and attend class.
One of my favorite classes Ive taken at UF!! So much fun and no stress at all, lectures were like a hour of story-telling. Amazing experience, especially if youve ever had an interest in myth!!! Would take again and again if I could!
these reviews are crazy. This is one of the hardest elective classes (myths of greeks/romans) I've taken at UF thus far. You have to memorize at least 200 terms. Every single minute detail plus the books material. why does he not cut down what he puts on the study guide? Do not take this class unless you have a photographic memory. Not kidding.
Really great professor!!! I definitely recommend!! He is really passionate and really knows his material. He also makes class fun and its a really interesting class! Theres only four quizzes and three exams for the class but he drops one quiz! The tests and quizzes are on everything he has covered. Definitely a good class and professor (:
Nichols was an absolute gem to have as a professor. I walked into this class barely knowing any Greek myth other than the main gods and came out with so many interesting facts and knowledge. Dr. Nichols is extremely funny and makes every lecture memorable. I genuinely think this is the easiest yet most fun class in UF. DONT BUY/READ THE TEXTBOOK!!
Greek and Roman mythology is a fun class with a passionate professor. A great break from a stressful schedule for some real learning.
Honestly, the class was interesting since I already knew a bit about Greek Mythology, however, the lectures started to get boring near the end. It was very nice that he left the zoom option available for the whole semester so I didn't have to go to the class every day. The exams and quizzes were not hard, but you need to go to the lecture to pass.
Super nice professor who really cares about his field of study. Class is super interesting and its very hard to get bored during lectures. No homework or mandatory readings but grades are all quizzes or exams. If you are even remotely interested in greek or roman history take this class. Easy credit and so fun.
Professor Nichols is awesome. If you have a slight interest in mythology take this class. It is not difficult as long as you pay attention in class. No need to read the textbook unless you want to for fun. I highly highly recommend this class. He is an awesome teacher and lectures are always interesting.
Dr. Nichols is literally such a good professor and amazing lecturer. Just show up to class and listen to his lectures which are more like stories. As long as you take notes and study those notes before quizzes and exams you'll do fine. It's really not hard at all. He is so funny and really makes the stories come to life. I never read the book.
Prof. Nichols was the highlight of my semester! I actually looked forward to going to his lectures. He made the class so interesting, it felt more like storytelling. The class is super easy to pass- it's just 3 Tests, 4 quizzes (lowest quiz is dropped), and there is no final. Highly recommend this class!
What a great guy. Like his lectures are so interesting and he's really nice. Readily accessible for office hours. It's also a really fun class
All of these reviews are kind of deceiving. Professor Nichols is a really nice guy and is very understanding, and his lectures are pretty interesting and enjoyable, but if you dont watch the lectures and take notes on every thing he says and remember it all, you wont do good at all. It is a lot of info that you need to understand properly.
Had a class with him that had very little interaction, but his lectures were funny and engaging and the class is pretty simple to pass if you show up. I definitely could've done better I hadn't stopped going to class towards the middle of the semester. Just go to class and you'll be fine!
Take this class if you've always been interested in Greek mythology! Dr. Nichols is passionate about the topic and delivers/teaches information extremely well. Quizzes and exams are manageable as long as you attend lectures! Taking another class with him this semester :)
Took Myths of greeks and romans in Fall 2019. If you enroll in this class bc you liked Percy Jackson as a kid this is for you. 3 exams that are based off of lecture are your grade (not difficult). Every class was story time with Dr. Nichols, he is so passionate and I recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about Hellenic myths.
I am a classics Major, and taking his Myths of Greeks and Rome class was the best choice of my life, Dr. Nichols is hilarious with his lectures, tells a lot of stories, and his lectures are always a blast. The grades are simple, just quizzes on the lectures and 3 exams. Definitely the best class I've had, highly recommend taking it.
Super funny and interesting guy. Attendance isn't mandatory for lectures but go anyways just because he's so entertaining. Tests are super easy, no outside work.
Absolutely loved Professor Nichols. Lectures are amazing and he loves to chat after class. Work load is heavy but he grades fairly easy.
I don't understand why everyone is saying this class was easy. It took hours to study all of the different stories and names of all of the individuals involved. This is a very time consuming class, however I will say that it is the most entertaining. He is super funny and engaging, it just requires a lot of work if you actually want to study.
Dr Nichols is an awesome professor. His lectures are always fun to listen to, and I will definitely be taking another class taught by him in the future.
He's a good professor and his class is really fun. You really don't need to read the textbook as everything he puts on the tests are in the lectures. Take good notes though and study them because it's a lot of new info. I would say if you give an hour or two to study for the test you'll get an A.
Nichols is an absolute king. The textbook isn't necessary and if you only take notes on the subjects that are posted in the study guide you'll be good. The names of characters get confusing in the second half so put more effort into reviewing once he begins on the epics. He really enjoys explaining the myths in great detail.
Had him for What is the Good Life, which was a hybrid class. Had so much reading outside class, and assignments each week that were mostly discussion posts. Lots of writing, reading, and time wasted watching videos. The professor himself isn't bad, and is willing to look over essays before they are due.
Such an amazing lecturer, but it is a lot of material and memorization so be prepared to study Greek Myths. Quizzes/ tests are very straightforward & multiple choice (not made to trick you) and you don't need a textbook (just take notes in class). Attendance isn't mandatory and there is no homework! I loved this class and would 100% take it again!
The material was engaging and the professor was hilarious and a great choice to teach the class. Every class felt like going to story time with professor Nichols. The quizzes and tests can be a bit material heavy but just study and memorize notes that you take during lecture and its an easy A. GO TO LECTURES and DO NOT buy the textbook!
If you're interested in the content, the class is not bad. Unfortunately, I took it expecting it to be an introductory easy A and ended up with a C because the grade is fully based on a few quizzes and exams. The questions are very content specific and he doesn't post lectures so if you're not in class typing everything he says you're screwed.
LOVED this class! Nichols makes the content so entertaining and he's very passionate about the subject. The quizzes/tests are easy but beware because those are the only things he assigns for a grade.
Best class you will take at UF. Prof is super funny and makes the course material fun and engaging
This class is honestly easy if you just take an hour each week to do the assignment. There are a lot of assigned readings but you can mostly just skim them to answer the discussion post. Grading is not strict at all. There are probably more interesting quest classes to take though.
The class contains quite a bit of work, so do prepare yourself for that. But I enjoyed the material we were learning for the most part. There were just some weeks where I was just not interested, which was not most weeks. Dr. Nichols is fun and is very understanding. Just take your time in this class, and you'll be alright.
Dr. Nichols is a great professor and makes lectures super interesting! However, I found it very difficult to remember everything for the quizzes/exams, as the questions are very specific. He drops your lowest quiz grade though
Good Life with Nichols was not too bad. Easy to BS most of it but it was fine to manage each week. Grades fairly.
Love this class. Lectures were always super engaging and I loved everything I learned about. The quizzes and exams are the only grade and are multiple-choice. Super easy if you just re-read your notes a few times. He drops the lowest quiz grade. Funny guy and he brought a bard in to sing for us (I cried), would recommend this class to a friend.
Lectures were always enjoyable. Only graded on a handful of quizzes and exams, not too bad even if you don't study.
Dr. Nichols was an outstanding teacher for an advanced translation course. We translated at a reasonable pace (picking it up when possible, slowing it down when busy). He is incredibly knowledgeable about the ancient world, and was able to help us produce easy-to-read translations that stayed true to the intent of the Latin.
I took Ancient Greek 1 and loved it. With a background in Latin it wasn't hard for me to catch on to the material quickly, but you may struggle if you haven't studied languages much before. Mr. Nichols is super chill and funny. He's not very good at using canvas but it works out since you have a lot of time to finish homework you "forgot"
Professor Nichols makes this class super engaging. While the quizzes and exams can be content-heavy, going to lectures and reviewing your notes is key. For extra study prep, Unstuckstudy and ChatGPT were a big help. Overall, a fun and rewarding experience!
Dr. Nichols is amazing. He's always willing to help you out in class or after class and doesn't take his content too seriously. He's super laidback and has always been understanding if I miss class or need extra help on something. He's one of those professors who will make you want to take a class just because he's teaching it!
Dr. Nichols is the best! I would take any class with him pretty much.
He's the best. So enthusiastic, caring, and does not make your life difficult. Class is so easy; no homework, just 6 20q. quizzes (usually take 5 mins) and 3 50q. exams. Literally all you have to do is show up (please don't miss class), take notes, and look over your notes before tests. So hard to do bad in the class. Tip: make a GroupMe.
amazing professor! grades fairly easy and is so nice and enthusiastic. go to class (mandatory and missing one DROPS ur grade!). Discussion posts are graded practiaclly on praticipation, lots of readings (you dont really need to do) Would 1000% take this as a quest again
Dr. Nichols doesn't make it harder than he needs to, and he's very understanding and hilarious. You can tell he remembers what it was like to be a student, and he never punishes you for being young and untested.
I had a different quest class: "nothing left unsaid" that was hybrid and it was great! I love his "lectures" if that is really what you can call them that because it really just feels like an engaging conversation with the whole class. The work load is really light and the readings are necessary but short. He clearly has passion behind what he says
