He has to be one of the most laid back teachers around. He is a awesome teacher and makes you actually want to learn and go to class. Everything is interesting and he tries to get the class interested. I took him for both Psyc 1 and 2 and got A's both times.

Love this teacher! He is super cool, Super nice and he is really funny! I had fun in that class. He makes the class seem really easy the way he teaches. Just listen to the lectures and copy his notes, his tests will come from those. And have fun!

I took this class online. It was so easy. All you do is post your answers to the questions and take the 20 question tests, which have a time limit of 90 minutes. Its plenty of time. He tells you to use the book. Also study the study guide because it really helps. He also seems like a very laid back kind of person. Overall, the class is an easy "A".

He's a fun teacher. Good sense of humor. Class was easy. Mostly lecture in the beginning. Ends with group presentations. Tests are super easy multiple choice. Everything from notes, I didn't open the book once and actually resold it halfway through the semester. If you have perfect attendance you don't have to take the final.

Online class yet I learned a lot! Pretty laborious course but it may just be me because I tend to overwork things. Dude really knows how to teach. His exams are packed with humor too. His online class was really easy and he designs the class for students to take advantage and succeed. His in-person lecture class was great too. He is very informative and very helpful. If you see one tall guy in a black long sleeve shirt with glasses and diggable swag, that's gotta be Andrew. He's always happy to see you and he REALLY loves his job. He's the ideal prof - gives easy tests BUT you really learn, and yes he is chill and fun. You won't get out of this class without knowing that correlation is not = to causation!

Even though the class was almost three hours long, he definitely made the class enjoyable. His lectures were informative. The way he set up his exams made it seem as if he was giving the answers. However, that was the thing though, even without the obvious wrong choices, you would already know the answer.

I transferred from to Chabot to UC Davis. Prof Piersons Research and Methods class has probaly prepared me the most for upper division Psych classes here at Davis. GREAT PROFESSOR.

I took professor Pierson's online course for Psy 1 This is my first time for an online course. I highly recommend his class. He seems funny just by some of his questions he put on the exams. I wish I have taken his actual lecture classes. It seem like it would have been fun.

He takes everyone's feelings into consideration and creates a safe atmosphere in his classroom. Very easy, laid back class. Honestly if all teachers were like him, the world would be a much better places. Since he worked in Mental Health and really thoroughly studied Psychology (phD), he truly loves and understands the subject and wants his students to as well. Why? because he seems like an AWESOME teacher to take in person hes SO organize and clear!he really wants you to understand the concept.He breaks it down in Workshops, there's 6 exams and they're a bit challening but duable than again what test isn't?! I really loved him! wish i took this class on campus.

he is an amazing prof. he literally has you laughing through the entire semester . we had a signal we'd do if you didn't want to answer when called on, and he'd move to another student. you will learn correlation does not equal causation . you can tell that teaching is his calling, because it's effortless and you will learn more than you imagined !

He gives a study guide before every test. I wish he used blackboard so we would know our grade throughout the semester.

Andrews a great teacher to be honest he's very educated and teaches from experiences and heart. He's pretty funny always cracking corny jokes. easy grader and teacher. He lets the class choose how it wants to be ran at the beginning of the school year. test are easy but there is class group dicussions 247 so get use to it lol easy though

I took his class long ago but I still want to say how much I love this teacher! He is awesome, funny, helpful and he loves psychology that you can see it the way he teach. Made me want to go into Psychology myself. He makes class fun and yet you still learn a lot!

This teacher is very clear and organized. His tests are ridiculously easy. He has a very clear grading agenda. You are expected to post from time to time, but nothing too crazy. The only thing I don't like about him is that he is such a slow grader! He literally waits until the last minute to update grades, but you should expect an A regardless.

DONT BUY THE BOOK CAUSE YOULL PASS WITH OUT IT :) JUST PAY ATTENTION TO HIM AND YOULL BE GOOD

This class was honestly one of the easiest classes I've taken. For me it was just a lot of review from past psychology classes I have taken. Pierson is a great teacher and makes a lot of lame jokes. In my class attendance was not mandatory, but if you had perfect attendance you did not need to take a final. So keep that in mind. I highly reccommend

Very straightforward and easy course. Simply read the syllabus and the required readings and you will do just fine. 25 multiple choice questions on every quiz. Some of the questions were extremely obvious. It's clear he wants you to pass and is rooting for you. Assignments were pretty interesting, too and not at all challenging.

Straightforward, eccentric teacher who teaches the basics needed of PSY 1 to prepare you for any other PSY class. Attend class everyday and you will not have to take the final. Papers aren't overwhelming and quizzes aren't difficult, they do, however; prepare you for the final, if needed.

He is such an amazing professor. Everything he teaches in class is on the test, no more, no less. He does have a few group projects so pick your group wisely. PSY 2 is a really interesting class especially with Andrew. I would recommend taking him for any and all classes that you need and he teaches.

He is a great professor, but I think his method of teaching may be hard to grasp for some. He goes off on tangents unrelated to the material and will spend too much time on non material related subjects. Super easy going, just doesn't stick to the material so there's a lot of self teaching

Taking this class online allowed no room for his feedback on assignments and not knowing how your grade was doing. I kind of wish I took the class in person. Overall easy A, but easily can turn into a B- like me.

Dr. Pierson is an overall great professor. Keeps class engaged, and is willing to work with you. It is not worth skipping his lectures, you do not want to miss information given. Tests are literally what you learn/review in class.

I took his online class for Psy 1. Super easy A. The readings weren't too time consuming, the discussions and projects weren't hard at all and a few of them were actually fun. He tries to make the material interesting. He was very flexible with due dates, and allowed us to turn in late work for full credit up until the last day. Highly recommend!

one is the easiest teachers i have ever had and hes funny. i dont see why people would have failed with him, class is point based, tests are multiple choice, three 1-2 page pagers that are easy. everything is straightforward, tests only have stuff discussed in class and theres no surprises. would def take him again.

I've taken psy1 and psy2 with prof. Pierson (both online). He's an amazing teacher, and always support students. Since it's an online class, so it's important to get ahead and manage time. Do every work and you'll be fine, many critical thinking, and you will learn a lot!! If you want to take a psy, take his class, and you won't regret it!

Took his class during the pandemic. He is super chill and understanding. We had 6 exams and 6 discussion posts. We also had 6 projects but they weren't too crazy. Eazy stuff. He doesn't require a textbook as he provides all of the articles we need. He's always mentioning how he's "rooting for us", and he really is :..) Easy grader in my opinion.

He's a really good teacher he really wants you to get a good grade however he's lectures are a little heavy.

I don't think I have ever had a CC professor that has ever given a crap about their students, but doctor Pierson changed that. Genuinely super nice and constantly includes reminders that test scores don't define us and wants us actually to enjoy his class. I wish my professors at CSUS were more like doctor Pierson!

Professor Pierson gives great feedback, hes understanding, caring, but hes a little delayed when it comes to grading assignments. There wasnt that much work so I would say its an easy A if you study the study guide and watch the videos he provides. Theres a lot of writing also! 6 modules that includes an exam, project, and discussion.

He provides links to the readings needed for the assignments and exams. Theres 6 units, each unit has 2 DBs and 1 exam. Each unit is 3-4 weeks long, and thats it. Exams are open note, but you cant go back & forth between questions. Your DB posts cannot be edited or deleted. Easy A, but be careful with citing sources. Hes flexible with late work

We just need to read the materials provided in each module for learning, so it is a self learning class. It is easy to get good grade on homework (discussion boards) on exams if you learn. Even he had a over a hundred students in the class, he still could respond my email in one day. If you prefer online class, I recommend Dr. Pierson.

Dr. Pierson is such as kind and caring professor. I also had him for Psych 1 and he is very clear on homework assignments and modules. Since I came to Chabot in late 2020, I have not had the opportunity to experience a class with him in person. If you actually read the lecture materials, you will have no problem passing the class.

Dr. Piersons class was a pleasure to take this Fall. His class is slow paced and easy if you remember to stay on top of the work. There is a bit of reading and a total of 6 modules which consist of discussions and exams. He gives good feedback, is very caring, replies quickly, and flexible. I will miss his class.

He was a great teacher, and a easy grader, however, it did seem as though the assignments were rather "repetitive", but he made them fun so it made up for it. I would definitely take his class again, but personally, if you're going to study Psychology, I would rather study in-person than online.

Mr. Pierson was so cool! he was super engaging and hardly ever serious. he does partially grade on attendance but I recommend showing up to take notes because he bases his exams on the class slides. In my semester he gave out 3 exams online and gave you enough time to complete them. I strongly recommend his class! it fills up quickly.

He's such a great teacher. Really makes an effort to help everyone feel included in class. Even if you say something that misses the mark, he's understanding and corrects it in a kind manner to ensure you get the material. His class is perfect for blind/visually impaired students. The material is accessible and he explains things well.

Professor Pierson is the best. He lets you decide how to run the class inducing attendance, tests/quizzes, assignments, etc. Furthermore, he is very funny and doing so makes his lectures very intriguing and it makes you want to learn more. Lastly, his lectures are pretty fast so you should take a picture of it since he allows it, but ask first.

After taking this professor for PSY 1. I knew I had to take him again. He is very funny and makes the class something to look forward to. You have a presentation combining two projects at the end of the semester, 3-4 tests, and two writing assignments. Just show up and take notes and enjoy the class and you will have no problem.

It's not that he gives a lot of work, it's just that the work requires a lot of reading and studying to do. If you have any problems just reach out.

Really enjoyed this class. You can tell he genuinely care about his students. It is test heavy, but there's no homework. If you show up to class and pay attention, it's very do-able to get a good grade.
