Good class, easy stuff.

Schiff is a great guy, class will require that you read the material outside of class. Make sure you know your stuff when it comes to taking the tests, not enough time. Book is confusing as hell, just try to learn it

Professor Schiff is very thorough. Some students in my class found him painstakingly thorough. He wants everyone to get it. He will repeat the information as many times as necessary, which is good for the type of learner I am. The BEST!!!!

tries to make the class interesting by telling jokes eventhought the information is boring, hint dont take him for more than one class in the same semester, you'll hear the jokes twice

The class is mostly practical hands-on projects. We had a Midterm and a Final. They were worth 25% each, and the rest was projects. I saw the theory in practice and it was very helpful. Professor Schiff is the best at Towson.

Schiff is pretty good teacher. Class was mainly projects and two tests. pushed back test dates to make convenience for students.

He is a really great guy, and I enjoyed his class. His jokes are a little lame, but sometimes its nice to have a break between learning more tedious information, you know? Also, he kind of looks like the secretary's boyfriend in Ghostbusters.

Class is good, professor is funny (at times). I have him for Cost too, he's good for that too. Probably my favorite Accounting professor here so far.

Life is like a box of chalk...quirky guy. He knows his stuff, and you can't help to laugh at his digressions

A welcome change from the usually mundane teacher. Jokes (even though bad ones) help get you through an otherwise boring subject.

A very personable professor. Tests are fair. He take his time with the material to make sure that we learn it completely. I definitely recommend him for Cost. I am taking him next semester for AIS.

The dude is so funny. He has the most bizarre stories and gets sidetracked a lot, but it's funny. He gives good notes on exactly what the tests will be on. Two projects. Good class and really helpful for accoutants.

Where's my GRADE??!! Takes forever to post final grades....He snookers himself by assigning 2 big projects, all due on the day of the final. Oh well... he was a good guy but couldn't help but wonder if something else was on his mind.

This is the teacher you absolutely want for cost accounting. He will tell you what to do and know for the tests, and he is very clear and helpful. He does assign a project but it is relatively easy. This class would be a lot harder if it weren't for him

classes arent too bad.... he usually shows up late, but thats not always a bad thing. Classes can be boring but he throws in a bunch of dry humor jokes which catch your attention... gives a couple of projects, but the tests arent too bad... study and youll do fine

A good teacher. He'll get the material across, test and grade fairly. The downside about Professor Schiff is that he is fairly self-absorbed as a person. Once the class is over and the spotlights are off, he's not very accessible. Hopefully, you won't need to access him. Otherwise, take him.

Great professor. Knows what he is talking about, funny, and very helpful! No homework but a couple of very time-consuming projects.

Strange guy. Repeats same jokes from Cost and gets sidetracked easily. Nice guy though. Class is easy. basically 2 group projects and 2 exams. Easy B..A if you study.

3exams(25%, 30%, 30%), Attendance 5%, Writing assignment which is actually homework problems 10%. No curves. Little late to class everytime that didn't bother me! Easier than other cost acct professor. Take him!

lame attempts at humor but one still laughs. great teacher;got 100% on my first 2 tests. i wish he taught ALL acct classes;if only wishes were horses (thats one of his 'jokes') lol

Good teacher, my only complain is that he is very irresponsible, always late to class (he was 20 mins late on the day of the final), never had the exams graded on time and it's been over a week since the final and still he hasnt posted the grades. Come on already!!

He's a nice guy. For some reason he is ALWAYS late to class. Other than that its a pretty easy class. Work with a good partner and you'll be fine.

He is usually late to class. The class has lots of information, but the tests come from notes-take good ones. Half the grade is projects which you can have a partber for, but beware they are time consuming , especially systems understand aid! Great guy, easy class.

Excellent professor. Had him for ACCT 300 too. Tests aren't bad, study well and you'll get a good grade. He is a pretty leanient grader which comes in handy. Very laid-back and tries to make jokes for most of the class. Great guy! Take him!

Great class but boring. Partial credit on the test problems was very generous. Do the homework and the tests should be not problem. The multiple choice tended to be tricky.

Teaches only the relevant material and goes over all hw problems. Makes jokes throughout the class that helps the time go by a bit faster. He is always late to class by about 5-10 min. The tests are mostly problems similar to the HW and multiple choice. 2nd test is fairly difficult in 341 class. The Acct 300 class is impossible to fail. 2 multi. choice tests and 2 projects.

Schiff is a good prof, his 300 class is easy too. spend some time on the projects, (System understanding aid & great plants, they are 50% of your grade, his exam is not hard either. class was boring sometime, but he always threw a couple jokes to make it went faster! TAKE HIM!!!

I really liked this class, not because it was accounting, but because this professor was so funny. Every 5 seconds there was a joke and he made the information on the different systems including batch, OLRT, and others interesting. Great Job Dr. Schiff. Tests are easy as hell. Funny guy, which is necessary for a class that may otherwise be unbearably tedious. Good at teaching you the most practical material ~ don't expect to have to read through the entirety of that big textbook.

Taking him for the cost accounting, and I think he is the the best instructor at TU for ACCT 341. His exams are not easy, so make sure you study well. He will give you hint for long problem. However, multiple choice questions cover everything that he teaches. Therefore, Study hard, you'll be fine.

He is one of the best professors at Towson. Definitely, not a boring one. But he is little lazy. He is late to every class in average 7-9 minutes. It takes 2 weeks for him to grade the exams. If u do the homework and take notes in the class, you will be fine! His exams are not very different from homework problems! Take him)

One of the best accounting profs in Towson, along with Hammer. He makes the material, which is otherwise pretty lame bearable with his jokes, stories, etc. Grading-wise, he is easy as long as you attend all or most of class.

Good teacher, cost acct is not the most thrilling subject in the world but Schiff?s humor makes it definitely more interesting. Tests are easy if you pay attention and do the practice hw, he gives you a pretty good idea what will be on the test.3 exams, 1 excel project (which can be confusing) and attendance make up most of the grade.

the course is dry but professor Schiff make it interesting. he throw a joke everytime and sometime he is way offsubject. got 2 projects and 2 tests. the tests are easy mc/tf. but the projects is intense. spend at least 20+ hour on the first one and 10+ on the second. try to do it early and on your first week of class, try to find a good partner.

There is no text book required. He will copy the textbook for you. 2 projects, one is great plan the same as undergraduate one; and the other is crystal plan. One midterm and one final which he will give the questions before the exam. It is very similar with ACCT300 and highly related with AIT610. Easy A~!

subject is boring but schiff makes it bearable with his jokes. explains the material and tells you exactly what 2 expect on the exam. attendance not mandatory but his class notes are really helpful especially wen doing hw problems. doesnt collect hw and didnt assign a project for my class. i did the best on the second exam. not an ez class.

EASIEST CLASS EVER.

you can find almost everything he said on textbook, never collect HW and be late for everything(class,exams,grades). but tell u what to expected in exams. not a hard class, if you either focus in class or understand the textbook, u will surely get a good grade

Schiff is a corny &silly dude, not a serious environment which translates into not taking the class very seriously. He writes everything on the board & is clear as day, if you are confused-that's pretty bad. Tests are multiple choice and straight forward. Kind and very helpful-you can call his cellphone for help with the 2 projects. Get oldest book

Wacky sense of humor, but overall a good teacher. Presents the material very clearly and constantly checks with the class if there are questions. Attendance was a small part of your grade, but the exams were nothing to be afraid of.

I have taken Schiff for Accounting Information Systems and Cost Accounting and I thought he made both of these classes extremely easy and clear. His tests are very similar to the problems we do in class together. Basically if you pay attention and take good notes you should get at least a B+. I would definitely take him again!

Always did better on tests than expected. Schiff is a good professor but he goes off on these tangents and makes a 3 hour night class longer than it probably needs to be because he talks about random stuff and is always 15 minutes late to class. It's hard to tune back into him when he's always going off topic.

Professor Schiff is super nice guy and very easy grader. Three exams nothing to be afraid of. I did very nice than what I expected. Super easy, Take him.

He is a funny teacher and is distracted easily but makes night class more bearable. He wrote the text and uses it every class. The examples he gives in class are exactly like the ones on the exams. Very easy A, I wish I could take him again.

He is a good teacher willing to assist students. Attendance is necessary, and the information covered in class is important for tests. Take good notes and ask for help if needed. He lets you know what will be covered on exams, so pay attention to review sessions.

Very dry professor and only teaches out of the textbook, so you must go to class to get the content. Three exam grades and attendance. Pay attention to his review sessions as he normally states the problems that will be on the exam. Be careful with the multiple choice questions as they can be tricky. Pretty easy class.

Schiff is not a bad choice for a professor. He gives so much partial credit on exams its crazy. He really wants his students to do well and learn the material. Grade really just consists of exams and 5% attendance so go to class. He goes off topic multiple times every lecture but he means well

Professor Schiff was an awesome teacher! He was very funny in classes and made the boring material actually fun. There were 3 tests (90% of total grade) but he went over everything on them and told you which hw problem to focus on. Overall, schiff was great and would DEF recommend taking him!!

He was a really nice guy. Always made jokes to try and keep the class entertaining. He gives you as many points as he can when he grades tests, so if you know even a little bit, you'll get some credit.

Chill guy do the questions you go over in class and youl be fine

He relies on the book a lot, but the version doesn't matter so it's cheap. He gets information across & emphasizes what is on the test, so it's easy to prepare for. The only thing you are graded on are 3 tests. He is available in Stephen's & on weekends off campus if you need him, too.

3 exams make up most of your grade in this class. He tries to give you as many points as you can so you probably do better than you think on the exams. Has a lot of experience in accounting and you can tell, good lectures.

Tells you EXACTLY what'll be on the exam and gives you similar problems. Best accounting professor I've had so far and I'm definitely taking a class with him again. Tells corny jokes and stories in most classes because accounting is only but so interesting. Might take a little time getting exam grades back to you though.

He is funny! He comes with cough drops and cans of corn. Keeps the class entertaining. He is really helpful and quite nice. I definitely place him in my top 5 Accounting professors.

He is a great person but his teaching style did not work with me. The textbook is not the best, has a lot of mistakes.

I enjoyed class with this professor before online classes took place. He went over exactly what would be on the test. The tests were a little hard but I am not the best at accounting. When we moved online for the rest of the semester it was a bit more difficult since things weren't graded as much and we only had test grades count.

Class is very straight forward. He takes the textbook notes and then teaches off that and that is what is on the test. tries to involve the class and keep it interesting.

He's such a fun teacher to have! He acknowledges how boring accounting can be but tries to make class fun with his stories and comments. His tests are straight from the study guide, as long as you understand that you should be fine!! Don't be afraid to ask questions, he's there to help and is willing to explain. Also records lectures to post later

I really liked Dr. Schiff and im not the best at accounting. I got a D on the first exam and I was still able to pull a B in the class. He knows accounting is boring but he is hilarious and good at explaining concepts.

Schiff was such a nice jokester. He is very much a lecturer, but gives you options to meet with him outside of class or even online. Accounting is a tricky subject and he makes an effort to help if you let him! He does assign homework but its not due til the end of the semester. Hes chill

Great guy. I actually had him for a lower level accounting class and id take him again if I could. Hes really good at breaking down topics and making them seem very simple and is always willing to help his students in and outside of class.

He's a great professor to take for accounting as he tries to make an 8 am class funny and engaging. He has three exams with three hw assignments, which are all multiple-choice. He goes at the pace of the course, which is very surprising for an Accounting class. Do not take an 8 am if you cannot wake up routinely. I recommend taking him if you can.

He is an amazing teacher. He is always willing to go out of his way to make sure that you understand. His lectures can sometimes be long but he is always upbeat and loves accounting. He is a very funny character, and one of the best professors here on campus. The class is also slower so you will have plenty of time to learn the concepts. he curves

Professor Schiff was a blast for a topic which could easily be boring. His tests were easy to study for since he gives you both his notes (which he lectures off of) and a review homework assignment, and a study guide. The homework assignment covers what he thinks are the most difficult areas, so studying is a breeze, and he usually uses a curve.

Attendance is mandatory, but I just had someone write my name on the sheet he uses for attn. 3 exams and 3 graded hws. Cant look up the answers so you have to know the material. Tests based off lecture notes. Everything is multiple choice.He posts recordings of all his lectures. Kind of boring but he's really nice. Gives his phone # to reach him.

Prof. Schiff is overall a great professor. His lectures can be boring at times but makes up for it with the occasional jokes to lighten the mood. His exams are easy as it mostly comprises of questions that he taught during lectures. Do keep in mind that his exams are weighted for most of the grades in the course. He also curves each exam by 8%.

Professor Schiff was my FAV professor I took at Towson; He is so understanding and caring about his students. He makes accounting understandable in all aspects and tries to ensure you pass. If you have to take accounting, TAKE HIM! You have two exams plus the final, which is not cumulative. He gives you study guides. As well as three hw assignment

Professor Schiff reads his lecture notes, his lecture notes are based off the textbook but, the exams are based off of his lecture notes, so you won't need the textbook. He explains the concepts really well.

Professor Schiff is a very good professor. He knows how boring accounting can get and tries to make it so it's not. He publishes his own notes from the book and tells you not to buy the book anyway. You are graded on three graded homework's and three exams all of them are based on his lecture notes as well. He also records and uploads the classes.

Professor Schiff keeps ACCT201 engaging with his funny personality. The class has a manageable structure - 4 exams, 4 HW assignments, and recorded lectures that are super helpful. Definitely use Unstuck ai alongside the lecture notes to ace this class.

He is a very engaging professor. He tries to make the boring aspect of class fun. He is very understanding and only goes over what is needed for the exam. I would 100% recommend him.

I was not looking forward to commuting a hour for a 8am, but Schiff made an 8am feel like a 2pm class. Super chill guy, funny, knows what he's teaching, unlike Barry Buchoff (towson fire him). Schiff will call you if you reach him by phone to explain any confusions. Super clear on 3 exams, 3 hw assignments, and a data analytical assignment.TAKE HIM

Professor Schiff is really smart and teaches accounting in a way everyone will understand. he doesn't throw random words at you. He doesn't read from a slide. He goes slow and you can ask questions. This was my first accounting class and he made me really like it and I might switch my minor to accounting because of him. def recommend taking him.

Overall a good and caring teacher. Lectures can be slightly boring but he explains things multiple times and in different ways to ensure understanding. Study guides for exams are helpful.

Professor Schiff is honestly a great teacher, he provides great material during lectures to make concepts understandable. It was his first time teaching the course (ACCT-302) but he honestly did a great job, the course was a bit easier than 301 in my opinion

Professor Schiff is the BEST professor I have ever had. I took him for ACCT 201 and ACCT 302, both of which he made feel easy. He cares about his students, has a very visual teaching style, and revisits complicated topics. He has clear expectations for grades and what will be on all exams - and even offers a study guide. He also curves exams!
