He was very helpful and supportive even after I was no longer in his class. He was also very understanding about papers etc being late with good reason. His door was always open to students. And hey, sports fans, this guy used to be a boxer!

I think he is an awesome professor. He makes everything seem so interesting. I think it is the only class I've ever taken where I'm fully attentive the entire time. I'm seriously considering majoring in psych. now. His methods of teaching are excellent.

Great Prof...one of the Best!! I totally didn't want to take psych...but he made it so interesting and he made you think on your own about things around you. This is an awesome teacher. You learn out of a study packet that is due every week. It's extremely easy to fill out, just fill in the blanks of the vocab in that chapter. The first twenty five questions on the test are straight out of the packets. He uses great examples of the topics to make it crystal clear. Plus he has good humor. TAKE HIM!!

This teacher is one of the best!! He makes the info very clear. The tests are very straight forward and easy because the 1st 25 questions come straight from study sheets that you fill out every week, and the other 25 questions are applied questions with topics from the study sheets. I love this teacher, i highly recommend him!!!!

Very good teacher. Keeps you awake and interested in the subject matter. Highly recommend him! The book is only used for study sheets that are used for 3 question quizzes about twice a week in which you can use them. Very easy and fun class and a great teacher!

Mr. Schott is very helpful. He makes the subject matter fun and his teaching methods are very catchy. I highly suggest taking this professor for your Psycology 100 class, you are almost guaranteed at least a B.

Mr. Schott is a great professor! He is very clear and not boring at all. Class was fun and keeps you interested. You need the book in order to do the study guides, but they are not hard. If you study the study guide,tests are easy. Quizzes come from study guide, 3 questions word for word w/ study guide that you can use. I recommend him 100%

Good teacher, straight forward, def take psych with him. There are just a few quizes every 2 weeks and they are open book along with discussion board questions that are your opinion.

BEST professor ever, so nice helps you with everything. He explains what you need to do. we have quizzes but you need to do your work and you will pass them. Hands down one of the best professors I have had while attending college! He prints out study sheets that you answer word for word from the book which takes about 30 minutes once or twice a week, which he reviews in class. He then uses these exact questions for EASY quizzes, EASY tests, and the final. We only had to write one paper! TAKE HIS CLASS

This teacher helps you to focus on the mandatory parts of the subject. He teachers very well and allows you to have a good time while doing it. He hands you study sheets. These are the most helpful parts to the course. If you complete them and study them you'll know 95% of the test. Take the service learning project it'll relieve the stress.

Mr. Schott's was a GREAT PROFESSOR!! Take him if you can. His teaching method is so easy; of course if you put your time in doing the chalter homeworks which the answers come from the textbook. There was only 5 tests and a paper (which was only a brief summary) and then the Final. I wish he could teach other Pyschology courses as well on Campus.

use the textbooks to look up the key words/definitions. he gives study guides that tell you everything you need to know for the tests. Great guy and an awesome professor! the class was so interesting!

Prof Schott was the best professor I've ever had! His class is so easy to pass if you do the work and the work isn't hard! He gives you study sheets to do for hw every 2-3 days and quizzes come right from them. He made class sooo fun and I looked forward to it everyday! He's hilarious! DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!!!

I took this class just because I'm really interested in Psychology. Professor Schott posts assignments and gives 2 weeks to complete them. They're clear-cut and pretty simple. This was my 1st online class and it was a little boring towards the end. But I would take a class with Prof Schott again. The material was interesting.. An easy A :)

I took the class online and learned so much. He is very clear in presenting the material and gives review sheets and and is super helpful. Will work with you and always keeps things interesting. Not difficult at all if you keep up with the reading and do the review sheets. He is also a very fair grader.

Dr. Schott is one of the best professors I've ever known. He is so animated during his lectures and breaks things down using real-life examples to help you understand the material. Sometimes he has you do things that involve active participation for a demonstration. He helps you relate the material to YOU so you better understand it. Awesome!!!

Uses real life examples. Teaches towards reality and gives easy quizzes and test based on what is taught. Has you participate in activities. Knows how to teach to ALL TYPES of learners! He teaches in a fun way! He will act out examples and show relevant/cool videos. He will always respect his students as well. Little HW. Grades are spread.

Mr. Schott had to be one of my favorite teachers ever! He is super sweet and funny. He actually WANTS you to do well in his class. He is very easy to get along with. He makes you actually want to come to class everyday and makes it an enjoyable experience. You can tell me loves what he does. Excellent teacher and all around good guy.

I had professor Schott for both general psychology, and positive psychology and I have to say I am so glad I did. The class(es) was/were easy, entertaining and I feel like I got a lot out of them. Super helpful all around, especially for quizzes and tests. Gives amazing feedback on everything and wants to help you do well. Very highly recommended!

Specific with details in giving examples. He paints the perfect Picture when giving his lectures. You will never be bored in this class. Tons of group work. Offers "Study Packets" for exactly what's going to be on the Exams. This could not be better. Offers research Paper. The Best paper I ever got to do. I hope my kids get to take this course.

TAKE THIS COURSE WITH HIM! Schott is amazing:discussion board 1 week on the weekly chapters which includes a post and 2 replies and then the next week you have to take the quizzes for that module.. BUT he gives you review sheets that has everything on it! Schott makes you want to learn! Love his class I am crying that its going to be over.

He is very clear at the start of his class what is expected of you if you want to pass. If you show up and do his term sheets you will pass this class. When it comes to testing he drops lowest test grade and he gives you a term sheet before each test to use as guide for test. An amazing teacher who cares about his students.

Prof Schott keeps you engaged in the subject matter while making it funny, but not in the way some profs go where it seems like they're practicing a stand up comedy routine. Uses methods of teaching that helps the information stick and makes sure to highlight the important stuff that will be on the tests.

Nice teacher, good organization of the course. All quizzes and tests are multiple choice and rather easy. Teacher participates in discussions, providing a bit of feedback to individual responses. But, discussion was lackluster (reqs too low). Decent intro course, could do more to foster comprehension. But if you invest in it, you'll gain something.

He basically hands you the material you need to pass so if you don't pass it's honestly just you. When i say you'll learn in this class YOU"LL LEARN, he was made to do this for a living!

He gives out easy packets to fill out. All the answers are in the textbook. (I put them all on Quizlet, search it up). He gives out-of-packet quizzes. You must know everything from the packets for the test, but their easy. Remember the answers to the questions, don't need to memorize the questions. Essay is somewhat easy. Drops 3 lowest grades.

One if my favorite professors so far. Uses analogys and acts out some of the more confusing stuff to make it easily understandable. You need to buy the textbook to do the study sheets he assigns. If you do the work there's no reason you shouldn't get an A.

I remember signing up for my first psychology class. I was so nervous, didn't know what to expect. Mr. Schott is by far the best professor I have ever had. His grading criteria are very clear and understandable. His teaching techniques are outstanding. They are 5 exams and 15 quizzes. The exam and quizzes are extremely easy. I highly recommend him.

Really great, however no nonsense. Gives you one week to do the readings and questions, the 2nd week to do the summary sheets and quiz. His summary sheets outline the quiz. Do those and you pass. All there is to his class. Seems pretty laid back. Participation matters! Expects you to login (for online) nearly daily and comment on posts though.

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Schott and I don't think I could come up with even one bad thing to say! So funny - coming to class every day you knew you were going to laugh at least once. Lots of baseball references (that's points in my book) and he gave the most hilarious little skits. So caring too. An A+ Prof in every way!!! Take him!

I have Learning difficulties and he is clear, understandable and is always around if you need help in understanding anything.

Also had him for Intro to Psych. Both courses, while easy, did demand at least some level of engagement. The quizzes/tests in 235 required knowledge of the text but the reading load was very light so there's no excuse not to pass. He is actively engaged with the course,participates in discussions, & clearly cares about teaching effectively. Awesome

Professor Schott is one of the best professors Ive had at HVCC. His grading criteria is clear as day and he makes it damn near impossible to fail. He also offers additional help if you need it in regards to your tests. 10/10 would def take him again.

Professor Schott is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely helpful and kind. He an amazing professor and I feel like I actually learned and retained a ton of information from this course. He makes it very interesting, gives great examples, plenty of chances for easy credit, and answers all questions thoroughly no matter how dumb.

I absolutely loved his class! His instructions are as clear as day, and he makes psych very interesting to learn about. His tests are very straightforward, and as long as you do well on them, you don't have to do the research paper because he drops the lowest two grades. I'd definitely recommend taking him!

This class is super straight forward. If you are capable of following directions, you should have no issue passing this class. In my opinion, it was an easy "A". Expectations and assignments are clearly presented. Put in the effort, and you will be just fine.

Very straightforward and simple class, yet I learned so much. You read a chapter or two, fill out a summary sheet & take a quiz with questions directly from the sheets. Easy discussion boards, you just write your thoughts/opinions. Final wasnt bad. All quizzes (& the final) are timed, one min. per question which is always enough time. Great class!

He makes everything extremely straight forward. No surprise material on the tests. He literally gives you study guides and the readings for all of them. You don't even have to read the readings to complete the guides. Study right from the study guides and you'll know everything you need to.

I had previously had (child) psychology in high school, this was pretty much just a review. If in class (not virtual learning) he does give credit if you attend his classes on time, complete the easy worksheets, and very minimal studying. Loved his lectures and how he taught. It is impossible for you to fail, would highly recommend.

This class is my favorite this semester. Professor Schott provides the textbook online, so you don't have to buy it. He assigns about 25 pages a week, and the textbook is actually interesting and easy to read. He puts the important stuff in bold. Test questions come directly from the study sheets, so do them! Choose this guy!!!! You won't regret it

There is only one assignment in the semester and it's an easy one. 2 discussions (you're expected to participate regularly) 2. There are plenty of quizzes that are based directly on the (short) reading and he provides study sheets where you fill in the blanks with bolded information from the reading. Easy class and I felt like I learned something.

Best professor ever. Made me love psychology. I actually looked forward to lectures and he made it easy to learn. Only like one homework assignment a week. 5 tests throughout the semester and they are all 50 question multiple choice. Super easy and educational.

Classes are enjoyable and interesting, so show up and take a couple of notes, and study for 45 minutes the night before a test (there are 6 including the final). The HWs (there are 15) are fill in the blank, look for bolded words in the reading, it takes 20 minutes. He drops the 2 lowest grades out of 9 so skip the paper. Boom, easy and fun A.

Really cool guy, and very clear and caring professor. Made psychology even more interesting and the workload (for the online intro to psych) was small but very effective. I saved all the readings that he posted and look them over every now and then!
