He's great!! Gives very easy quizes, eases u up for exam with helpful clarifications, hints.
HE IS THE BEST T.A YOU COULD EVER FIND....HE MAKES THE SUBJECT SO CLEAR AND EASY T0 UNDERSTAND......EVN IF U DNT GO TO LECTURE AND JUST ATTEND HIS DISCUSSION YOU WOULD CLEARLY UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING......HE IS THE BEST T.A. EVER...!!!!!1
He's a great T.A. I got more out of his class than from the professor. He gives extremely easy quizes, gives helpful hints for exam. His explainations are crystal clear. Very easy class!
Absolutely excellent. He's very smart, he teaches very well and doesn't have that whole high and mighty university mentality; he was a highschool teacher before. He knows the material and he's will to admit when he's not sure of something, he won't BS you. Highly recommended.
Patient, down-to-earth, & very clear. Often anticipates questions & confusion before they arise. Prepares you for common pitfalls & explains what to focus on. Energetic, friendly, & hilarious. Undoubtedly the best college math professor I've ever had. If homework is due after the quiz, finish it early to prepare yourself. Ask him lots of questions.
Very enthusiastic and helpful. Made concepts crystal clear - seemed like the class was a breeze. You will have to study a bit, but he will be a good resource if you have any questions.
One of the best professors at UIC. He explains clearly, has good handwriting (IMP!) and answers questions. He's a loud guy, so you wont be falling asleep that much. Exams are the same for all math classes, and quizzes are all done by the TAs. Late homework is not accepted which did suck, so if you want an A, make sure to do everything assigned!
he definitely is a good teacher. But in all honesty, his policies suck. No late homework? No make up quizzes? why? That shows that he doesnt care much about the grade and cares more about us just doing it. things come up and you cant always ways get everything done or make it to class.Try getting kobotis or cabrera much better and are understanding
Calc I was one of my most challenging classes I've ever took. Shulman tries to make the experience as easy as possible. Even though his policies suck, it's all worth getting this prof. He clarifies anything that the students don't understand. No mymathlab, all quizzes and textbook homeworks. He can crack a few jokes too. TAKE HIM!!
Calculus has never been an easy class until you take his class. Explains everything crystal clear and if you don't understand something he will gladly go back through it until everybody understands it. Very thorough and helpful. Take him by all means possible!
Clear as pure water. But don't get fooled, Differential Equations has a limit as to how easy it is to understand it, regardless of the instructor. However, this guy was excellent in making the subject easy to understand, and since he's the guy who writes the exams, he won't teach the unnecessary topics.
excellent class! although he is a pure mathematician meaning he shows zero applications in the real world, he teaches and explains differential eqns perfectly. easy exams and easy quizzes, but must study a couple hours each week to earn an A
Best professor ever. Make full use of the textbook and make concepts easy to understand. He allows to drop five quizzes if you can not make the class. And bonus points!! He wrote the exam which is totally related to what he taught in the class. Quiz is easy to take too.
Can't say that his class is easy.I think a sine curve is used for diff eq, so not many people get good grade as people who are taking Cal III. I got A-,C+,B- for the three exams and still got a C.
This guy will clearly explain everything and will go about on helping EVERYONE understand. He's lectures are understandable and sometimes interesting (can be comical). Test wise, you gotta study for that A (it's Calc so come on now). But most of all, he's helpful in many ways and hits the point on each lecture. HIGHLY recommend this guy!
If you want crystal clear lectures, I recommend taking him. His website is very useful for exams. You should solve ALL problems in his course outline. That helps alot for exams.
Took his class this summer as a visiting student from the University of Michigan and I can honestly say he is the best math professor i've had. Very clear, nice, and good and explaining material. Gives good lectures and outlines exactly what you need to know for exams. Very good class.
Shulman is a great professor. His class gets a little challenging, especially with the math curriculum changing at UIC, but he explains everything so clearly. Plus, he's funny and sarcastic! Wish I could take him again.
Professor Shulman is very clear in his lectures. Going to lectures and discussion will help a lot. Although mymathlab questions seem easy quiz and exam questions require you to know the material in depth. I would recommend taking taking this class. Professor Shulman is sarcastic and funny, making class a lot less boring!
He is a VERRYYYY good professor. If you attend his lectures and study the information on your own, you should do fine. 2/3 of his exams were curved and there is a massive curve for the course. I would say it is very hard to fail this class, if you try.
Professor Shulman is fantastic. One of the best professors I have ever had. He speaks loudly, slowly and clearly, he explains theorems thoroughly, plus he has very good handwriting, which makes note-taking much easier, even from the back of the classroom. He has a great sense of humor, and is a genuinely personable guy. Highly recommended!
Great professor. Very helpful and always willing to help. He makes the class fun and interesting.
Excellent Professor. Very personable and helpful. He makes class fun and has a good teaching technique where he leads you to the correct answer instead giving it to you. He has a genuine willingness to help outside of class and is very encouraging.
Great teacher. Introduces the topic, and then does many examples about that specific topic. He can also have a sense of humor sometimes. His exams are very fair and manageable. Make sure you understand the concepts and know how to solve different type of problems.
The subject is hard, but Professor Shulman is great. If you ever feel lost go to his office hours - he's very VERY helpful. Trust me, it helped me learn a lot.
Simply amazing. I was a visiting student for the summer. Shulman was the best math teacher I have had in my college career. DiffEQ is hard on its own, but he goes the extra effort to make it understandable for everyone. Tests are fair, but did have some slight curveballs in them which shows who really knows the material. Without a doubt, take him.
Math 180 is hard with any prof, but he's is a safe bet if you can't get Cabrera. Helpful and friendly in class@ office hours. TA's can makebreak homework. Math tests are department tests, so study hard and long on past exams. Pop quizzes in class for attendance, so shoe up and PAY ATTENTION! This class and ALL 180's WILL make you work for the A
Incredible professor, by far one of the best math professors at UIC. Calc is a hard subject on it's own, but Prof. Shulman teaches it in such a way that anyone can understand the concepts clearly. Exams are obviously going to be hard and he gives random quizzes in class, but he will more than prepare you for them. 1010, would take again.
Didn't teach anything on his own. Expected students to learn everything in groups. Don't take him.
Great teacher, tests basically make up the entire grade and there are only a few questions on each test, so any individual question could make or brake you. Just make sure you do problems from a textbook also, because the homework he assigns is nowhere near enough to get you to understand all the concepts. He's also very helpful.
By far THE HARDEST MATH CLASS ever. I can't entirely blame the professor because the entire department is messed up. Math in UIC is like learning how to ride a bike and being expected to drive a car, VERY CHALLENGING.
Great Professor who breaks Calc down for you. But he only teaches you the low end of the spectrum, so you gotta work to understand the harder concepts and problems later on. But he's more than happy to help you with problems you have. Exams are hard if you don't study. If you do well in keeping up with the class and studying, you'll be fine.
Professor Shulman made Calculus bearable. The class itself was difficult, but his lectures were great. He was really clear and you could always go to his office hours for help. There are pop quizzes in lecture, which are easy so go to class. Do well on the homework and do a lot of practice problems for the difficult departmental midterms & final.
Calculus can be hard, but he was really helpful with everything. He's constantly asking during his lectures if everyone understand what he just did. He's very enthusiastic, so it's very easy to pay attention in his class.
Shulman is an amazing professor. Calculus is a hard subject and he does a fantastic job at teaching it. He is crystal clear and really helps you learn. Take notes on everything he writes on the board, it's always useful . I highly recommend him.
I took him for Spring 2015. He is an interesting guy, a friend recommended him. An advice is that use his office hours to understand the material you don't understand. Funny guy, enjoyed his lectures. You need 80% attendance to pass (lectures and discussions).
If it were not for the tough grading, I would have liked this class a lot more. I learned a fair share about proofs, did all of the problems that were assigned, but still did poorly on the exams (60-70%). We worked in groups throughout the semester. Problems became challenging. All in all, Professor Shulman could have been more lenient.
Great professor! Definitely my favorite math class of the semester. Some tough material, but he's always able to meet during office hours or to set up a meeting time. Very helpful and presents material clearly during class. Be prepared for group work every day, and homework most nights. Nice guy and fair grader.
Professor Shulman is the most helpful professor I have had at UIC. If you are not sure about a problem GO SEE HIM! He is always trying to help his students succeed! Math 180 is a hard class, but it is possible to do well if you put in the time. It takes up a lot of your free time, but the more time you spend on Math 180 the better!
Professor Shulman is extremely helpful and clear on his expectations. Most of the class is group work, which can be very helpful when several brains are trying to break down a proof. The material is not easy, especially if you've never seen proofs before but Professor S. clearly explains how to properly construct a proof and gives useful feedback!
Shulman is one of my favorite professors so far. He's fast paced but he explains the material so well, and his teaching style is really good. His quizzes are fair and he always reminds you of what's due and takes the time to email you about how you're doing in class. He made the material pretty easy to understand.
Great teacher, it's calc2 so it isn't going to be easy. However, he is definatly your best bet at UIC. I wish he taught calc 3
The class is not easy and he is barely on campus and available to help students. When I went to his office . Its usually a line and you dont get the necessary help needed. . We worked in groups throughout the semester. Problems became challenging. All in all, Professor Shulman could have been more lenient on grading the exams. DONT TAKE HIM!
God damn Kobe Bryant of Professors. If you are taking Calc 2, do everything in your power to take him. This guy is clear and dedicated to help you however he can. Obviously Calc 2 is hard, so I have no idea why some people complaining about test. He doesn't write them, but he sure as hell prepares you for them. Definitely best math professor in UiC
Shulman really cares about his students. I took him for 180 and 181 and he always made going to class fun. He has a good sense of humor and his way of teaching is really visual which helped me alot. He prepares you well for the exams and gives pop quizzes which are not that bad. Take him if you can
Shulman is seriously the best calc professor. His teaching methods are very clear and easy to understand, and lectures were never boring. If you show up to class, pay attention and take notes, it will be very easy. I never had to use the textbook. Take him if you can. Calc 2 with him was my favorite class.
Bad. Do not take for math 215.
This man made calc 2 enjoyable.
Good lecturer but the class was ridiculously hard. I wish the grading was more lenient because I feel like I actually learned a lot.
He truly knows how to explain concepts to students. And when you need additional help and go to his office hours, he explains things in different ways until you understand. The course content though is very vigorous and hard. It's not the professors fault, blame the person that invented math.
If you go to every class he explains everything very thoroughly and goes over the hw. 2-3 assignments per week but they're easy.
Dr Shulman is the best math instructor at UIC in my opinion. I would take him for every class if I could. For this class you need to have some mathematical maturity. Anyone who says he's a difficult instructor for this class probably just wasn't ready to take this class.
Honestly enjoyed learning from him. He made Calc 1 so easy and I'm glad I had him as my professor. He makes everything clear and he'll sometimes make funny jokes in class.
Take it from someone who desperately struggles with/ had to repeat calc 3 times: he is the absolute best calc professor. He makes things easy to follow and understand & really cares about his students learning. It was a privilege to take his class.
Professor Shulman was probably one of the best math teacher that I've had to date and i still keep in contact with him. He doesn't take things too seriously and he will always give you the right advice. Professor Shulman teaches you the math but also shows you the tricks that can help you not get stuck on an exam!
If you want to actually learn math (and pass) take him. I hate math, it's not my thing, but I loved his class, probably the first math class where I feel confident that I understood the material. HW three times a week, but it's not a lot and if you don't get it he will explain it till you do, it's worth it. Thanks Professor Schuman!
I love this professor and I will definitely make sure I am in his class when I take Calculus II. He explains everything very clearly and goes over it again if anybody actually raises their hand. The only problem with him is that he has quite a lot of homework and you have to go to class for attendance. Don't try to work around it. It won't work.
You need to put in tons of work to pass this class, but it's so worth it. Shulman makes math enjoyable. He explains everything in plain English - no mathy language. Best math class I've ever had!
I took Shulman for Math 215. I saw he had a 4.6 on this website, unfortunately his rating on this website doesn't reflect on how he teaches Math 215. He has this score because of his Calculus class. For Math 215 I would give him a 2.0. He gives a lot of homework, if the homework doesn't meet his standards you get a 0. Same applies to the midterm.
There's mymathlab homework in a addition to Crowdmark (it's usually 2 questions/assignment and he emails an assignment every 2 days). He randomly takes attendance (which strongly counts towards your grade) throughout the course. Lectures are uploaded on Blackboard. He's very personable and has great lectures.
His teachings come in handy. Budum tiss. (you'll understand the joke when you take him)
Dr. Shulman is an outstanding and an amazing professor! He makes Calc so easy to understand that you can actually pass the course. For the exams given in this class, I only went over the lecture captures like 2-3 days before the exam and get As on them. If you have a chance to take Shulman, take that chance! You will not regret it.
Great math teacher, knows how to teach so that you understand and can follow easily. Notes are essential. Allows 8 X11 cheat sheets on midterm and final. Takes personal time to tutor if you ask for help. I wish he taught all my math classes! Gives numerous examples daily on the board to grasp the material. Shows respect to students, very helpful
He explains the concepts well. Students are allowed to skip his lecture 9 times. Over 9 times he is gonna drop you a letter grade. TAKE HIM!!! He is one of the best professors for math 180!!
He is there to help and usually explain material in class well enough to do the homework.
Professor Shulman is my favorite math teacher at UIC. He has made me laugh many times this semster. His lecture is clear and to the point. He takes it in small steps so you can follow along.
Honestly, a lot of people like his teaching style. I don't. He goes way too fast. Does not enough provide examples in class that would help you on exam. He mostly provides theories which is not helpful. He is kinda rude at office hours. Somewhat conceited. I recommended Diep. She gives solid notes and a lot of examples.
Best math teacher!!!!
On top of being my 3-times weekly stand up comedian, Dr Shulman is one amazing man who brings Calculus to LIFE! I thoroughly enjoyed my semester in his MATH210 class. He is clear, concise, gives challenging yet doable examples and covers multiple scenarios a question in the exam might hold. Do your best (and all you can) to fit him in your schedule
Dr. Shulman is a gift to calculus. He gives solid lectures and answers student questions, all while managing to be funny. The class itself is hard, at least it was for me. His Learning Assistants are really easy to contact, and very helpful during office hours. Be prepared to have a lot of homework throughout the semester.
Shulman gives some of the most concise explanations a student could hope for. He's arguably one of the best professors at this school--he's truly earned his recognition. For a competent studnet, the homework should be enough practice exams. But, if you're like me, give yourself at least a week to review past exams.
I have taken lots of courses at 2 different schools and have found Professor Shulman. For my learning style, which consisted of just listening to lecture not note taking and studying, I found his explanation of differential equations simple and approachable.
The class itself is extremely difficult and hard to pass but Shulman is definitely the best professor to take it with. His lecture always had a higher exam average than the other professors'. The class is automatically curved so if you try you will pass. Above a 55 is a C.
He is a great Professor. He cares about teaching and his students and doesn't care for student who don't take his class seriously (obviously). His content is hard so you need to put in the work. But he will answer any questions you have and do whatever he can to help you understand the content. Work hard and practice and you will do fine.
Very knowledgeable of the material. Class was engaging and he tied all of the concepts together quite well. The class is difficult but it will be that way with any instructor. He has a sense of humor but is very firm (but fair) in his policies and grading.
Is very good professor, friendly and helpful.
Took Dr. Shulman for Calc 3 before and decided to take him for linear algebra but he's more solid with calc. His approach for this class is pretty theoretical so it's definitely something to consider especially if you are not so hot with memorizing definitions (20% of his exams are defining terms). Very fair with grading too. Still a great man tho!
Explains everything step by step so you don't miss a single thing. Really really loud so you can hear him yelling in your dreams but thats a good thing, you also remember him yelling on tests and then the answer comes to you and you praise the lord of calc 2, andrew shulman do mathlab, ask him questions, have a good TA pass calc 2
pretty chill guy. great professor, just makes you put in the work for the grade you want. show up to class, do the practice he tells you to do in class, ask questions you'll be fine! attendance is taken from an app.
Mediocre not that great.
Weekly hw, pop quizzes for attendance, 2 midterms & final. No study guides. But study the notes and past exams, u'll get an A. Class is online now bc of covid19 so attendance doesn't count anymore. The exams reflected what we learned. He explains material so well and makes it easy for students. Take him for DFQ you won't regret it! He's the BEST!
He is one of the best professors. You know what, scratch that. He is the GOAT. I took calc 2 and diff equ, and got As in both. I did not work that hard tho. Make sure to take him. Got a great sense of humor. He is knowledgable asf. He knows every guy ever existed in math history. He is ranked at the top with Euler and other guys.
Professor Shulman is an amazing professor. First time I took him, and I would have loved to have taken him for all the Calc classes. As someone who goes on youtube a lot because of the professor not being clear/ making the topic more complicated than it is, his notes and past exams prepare you for the exam 100%. He's also very understanding & kind.
He is so clear and just make the hardest concepts so easy to comprehend. The way he organizes the material is top notch. The quality of his lectures remained superior, even during a global pandemic. Honestly, take him if you can he is the best prof for 220.
Utterly useless when it comes to teaching. Extremely unreasonable in person and has a lack of empathy and basic understand students situations. It is embarrassing that UIC allows a man of this low stature to teach to developing minds.
Decided that because class was online that he would assign a lot of homework to compensate but what was the worst was that he never had proper lectures. He would just solve easy problems and leave the rest to us and made some of the quizes pretty hard with questions that we were never exposed to so he is a pretty bad professor who teaches online.
Worst math professor I've ever had. The lectures were short and they only solved easy problems. For the worksheets, he would do some problems and let us figure out the rest. Don't take him if you want to understand calc really well!
Really nice professor
His lectures are very clear and easy to understand and follow. I appreciate that he brought energy and humor to class everyday despite my class being a 9am. If youre able to, definitely take any calculus course with him.
Prof. Shulman is great! Gives clear explanations and spoon feeds you with them until you understand. Once a week you need to submit weekly problems (2-3 problems), online homework (book comes in handy; 1-3 sets of problems), and lecture notes (1-3 lectures). Quickly responds to emails. Ready to work? -> class is a breeze and a pure enjoyment.
I see a lot of good reviews here but be warned! His lectures and the review materials he provides are not enough to get you a good grade in this class. The exams are way more difficult than anything he teaches in class. He also does not go through all the problems in class and expects you to still complete anything he has not taught.
The notes of the class are not all written, we also need to spend time offline to write, and the notes are even more difficult than weekly problem, notes to complete their own online, my lab and weekly problem, so many assignments every week, the test is completely different from the topics he teaches, on his class is a waste of time
i don't get all the good ratings that he has he holds short class times and doesn't teach during his class i had to buy a online math course to teach myself to get a good grade in class. i tursted the rating before hand and that is the worst choise i ever had. DON'T HAVE HIM
Horrible the assignments don't resemble what he teaches
His lectures were nothing like the exams that he gave out. Shulman expects you to complete 2-3 homework assignements a week, weekly problem (2-5 problems that are way harder than what he teaches and Mylab which is honest;y a complete waste of time. Very disappointed.
Professor Shulman is a wonderful lecturer and a lot of the ratings which tell otherwise are less about the teacher and more about the fact that the course is difficult. You have got to put in the effort because the class is fast paced. However, doing the assignments on time and reaching out for help is key to getting a good grade.
...don't know what to say...
Calc 2 is gonna hard either way, but Shulman makes it a bit easier with his lectures as he really spends time to answer questions. The only thing I can say that could be bad is he does move a bit fast but lectures are recorded. Overall he is really good at making ridiculous concepts understandable lol, very solid professor.
He is jesus reincarnated
Took him online for the summer and it was the worst decision. He goes over the easy questions from the pre-recorded videos and expects you to know the difficulty questions that he never went over. If you want to take this course over the summer I'll suggest waiting for the fall with another instructor that knows how to teach properly.
HE IS AMAZING. I SUCK at math and he made it so fun and easy to understand. Hes also super funny and engaging, so thankful for an amazing professor. TAKE HIM!
Utterly useless in every way. He would refuse to help on his projects, which were a waste of time and were hard. Exam avg was always a D or an F, but didn't care at all and made the next exam harder. It seemed like he wanted to fail as many students as he could, since most of the grade comes from pop quizzes and exams. DO NOT TAKE U will regret
Very easy to understand his teaching. Very easy to approach for doubts.
Avoid this instructor at all costs. Their teaching style is incredibly confusing, and they lack the patience to explain concepts clearly. They seem disinterested and rush through explanations, leaving students more bewildered than when they started. Their attitude towards students asking questions is dismissive.
BAD BAD BAD!!!!
If u miss the lectures he provides videos of each class on bb, i used those to study for each exam. If you like math then this is a great course! it just moves a bit fast at the end because he wants to fit all the material in.
Lots of homework online, doesn't go over all the questions on the lecture sheets, very open to answering any questions students ask him and sometimes tells jokes, post course schedule via google sheet and follows it most of the time, attendance on arkhaive, lectures recorded and accessed via blackboard.
Horrible professor who is not very organized when it comes to teaching and helping. For the sake of your well-being, do not take this course under this professor. P.S. projects were not very helpful to prepare for the real world !
This was my first math class that I had taken in 2 years. I knew I was screwed because I always hated math and off the bat, I knew I wasn't going to do well. Dr. Shulman changed that bias. He made learning fun; sneaking jokes into math concepts, having tricks to remember formulas, and way more. He also listens and explains thoroughly; very helpful.
Prof. Shulman did very well teaching this course! Majority of the time it was easy to understand, he just speaks and writes his notes really quickly so you might have a hand cramp after his lecture. However, I would take a math course from him again because I think he explains complicated subjects in a simplistic way.
I assumed this class would be difficult since I had never took Calc before, but it was one of my easiest classes. His lectures are very clear and he prepares everyone very well for the exams. There wasn't a point where I was really confused on the topics. Rewatch the lecture videos and do a ton of practice and you'll get an A.
As someone who sucks, and I mean SUCKS, at math, I was sure that my grade and GPA would be doomed because I had never taken a pre-calc class or anything related to knowing the background knowledge of calculus. That being said Schulman made Calcus easy. Everything he taught would be exacty like on the test. This class may be easier than MTH 125
Super good lectures and the study guides prepare you for the exams pretty well. I learned a lot and Shulman made it easy to understand. I would 100% recommend him
Professor Schulman is one of THE, and I mean THE best, professors I have had at UIC. As someone who has always struggled with math - and was really scared for calculus his teaching style and lectures made it easy. First week of class I almst withdrew becuase I knew nothing. He takes you from knowing nothing to intermediate. Amazing professor!
I struggled with math and I thought I would never be able to understand this subject, but the way Shulman teaches math is enough to make a grown man cry. I was able to understand all lectures he taught me and got an A. If you get confused, rewatch the lecture vids. 3rd test is the hardest FYI so be well prepared. He is the GOAT! he made math fun:)
Great professor. Definitely recommend
He is a very nice professor, and he explains concepts well. He's also pretty funny and passionate about the material he's teaching.
If you guys need to take math 165, take it with him. He's very nice enjoyed his lectures.
Shulman's lectures are super clear and engaging - he makes even the toughest calc concepts easy to grasp. Rewatching the videos and using Unstuck ai for extra practice really helped me nail the exams. Highly recommend this class!
Very friendly with a witty sense of humor. His lectures are wonderful and you're able to walk out knowing how to work through a unit with little extra practice needed. Don't let that distract you though, the course is still very difficult and you'll need to heavily prepare yourself for exams. Apart from that he's awesome
I gave him a 5 because he got my caught me cheating on the exam and reported me to the dean. I still passed with a C, so I gave him a 5
The most common complaint for Shulman's 215 section is that his grading criteria is strict, but this should be expected for a class based on proofs and logic. I enjoyed this aspect, as I learned how to communicate my logic process more effectively. Shulman's teaching style made the content fairly easily understandable.
Prof. Shulman is by far one of the best math professors at UIC. MATH 220 was already intimidating due to the horror stories that my friends had, but he proved them wrong. He's a very accessible guy, and always willing to help. He's witty, and can explain complex math in simple terms that are easy to understand. Definitely take him for any course!
I respect him as a Lecture, however I personally doubt his quality as I don't think he knows what is going on in ODE courses such like order of teaching mathematically for students. Because I can just type 350 letters here, to make short, he doesn't know how to test math questions in both written Hws and in exams and answer them rigorously.
This professor has very engaging lectures and was funny at times. You will definitely not be bored in the class. He is also quite an easy instructor as the exam is very similar to the lecture problems. On top of all this, he assigns little homework and is lenient with late work.
Take Math 220 with Shulman. The course content in itself is going to be challenging, but Shulman explains solving ODE's in great detail. There are plenty of example problems covered in the lecture, and I found that by actively engaging in the lecture and solving the homework on my own, I did not even need to study for the exams.
Shulman is a fun, humorous professor who makes class enjoyable. Pay attention and follow along to do well on homework. For exams, study the review guide THOROUGHLY. Quizzes vary by TA but usually come from the previous week's homework, so review those worksheets.
His lectures are easy to understand, and he helps whenever needed, although the study guide they give is not related to the exams we have. But he explains what type of questions are going to be on an exam, and during his free time or office hours, he is willing to go over the exam and answer any questions .
Professor is great, explains well, and is easy to understand. I personally found the class extremely easy but the average was usually a low C(I accredit this to people not studying at all or paying attention). There are 3 exams, final (cumulative, weekly homework (written and on pearson). Does require book purchase ($50). Take Shulman if you can!
One of the funniest professors I've ever had. Since hes bald it makes him extra funny. Also his class is quite easy with the way he explains things and hes quite strict on attendance. Overall id suggest to take his classes because hes one of the best youll get.
If you're taking MATH 165, This is the professor to take. His lectures make things that sound difficult and turn them into easy and simple steps. He provides amazing feedback if you're struggling or just stuck on something. He's overall a caring and amazing professor. Definitely take him if you can :)
Great professor, class is really well structured.
