What a great teacher. I would recommend him to everyone. Makes a hard class make sense, and will help you with anything. He also makes long lectures fun. I took him for Oceanography and it was my favorite class. Great!

Mr. Stanton is an excellent teacher. His papers are relatively easy to do, the homework for the class is simple, and his tests go really well. When you ask for more information on something, he always repeats the question you asked back again while he's thinking of an answer, this way you know he knows what you are asking. Good teacher!

Andy is awesome. I could have dropped the class as it isn't required for me, but I really enjoyed the labs. He does a wonderful job of teaching and is always willing to help you with your labs. He loves geology and it rubs off on the students. I hit a bump for a few weeks and he allowed me to make up the labs without penalty. Great teacher.

Andy is a great teacher. If you have any questions he repeats it for the class and then answers it in a different way than he explained it previously instead of just repeating himself. He also gives you a test study guide a couple days before the exams and even goes over them in class to make sure no one has any questions before starting the test.

Really easy class!! His tests are really easy too. He is kind of a boring teacher but unless you are really into geology it is kind of hard not to fall asleep in class. His tests are really easy and you watch lots of movies in his class.

Mr. Stanton is a very nice guy. His lectures are kind of hard to follow sometimes but his tests are extremely easy. He has a very small homework load and whenever he assigns it's very simple and quick. You'd have to try pretty hard to fail his class.

This was a summer class. He is not AS easy as everyone says, but he gives enough extra credit to do well. I got a D on the first test, but I'm up to an A- right now (as long as I get an A on the final, I'll finish with an A). Great guy though, extremely helpful. Don't take it from anyone else!

Very good lecture and easy to get A. I take this course in summer. There are 3 test and some small essay homework. If you work on your best you can get A. Text book is not as necessarily as the powerpoints, but if you want A, it will be helpful.

Class is interesting, homework is online, 4-5 questions, get two chances to do it, and it gives you the answers after the first time if you get my drift. Two one page reports due, easy! Also a few tests, really easy, plus you can write why you got that question wrong and he will give you half credit for it! HE ROCKS!

He is a good teacher. He is really easy when it comes to the stuff talked about in class. He uses Power Points for all of the classes and then if you miss he posts them all on Black Board. So it is over all easy!

This class was interesting and fairly easy. The professor knows the material well and you can tell he loves it. The power points are great and posted online and so the book is not necessary. The tests are easy to study for and he gives plenty of study material prior to testing. I would recommend this class!

Great Teacher- I know nothing about this and care nothing for it but I got an A- because he offers alot of Extra Credit and you can get partial credit on your missed test answers- GREAT TEACHER, TAKE HIM WHEN POSSIBLE!

Andy's class is very easy. Everything needed for the test will be covered in the test review. Don't miss the review. His lectures are Powerpoint; therefore, they are extremely boring. If you want an A take GEO from Andy.

not gonna lie, I HATED this class. Its not real hard, but this professor isn't my favorite. The guy really knows and loves his stuff, but I didn't like him. I was bored to DEATH . He didnt use the textbook at ALL so I was mad I even bought it. I took from him because of all the great ratings on here, but I would not reccomend him to anyone.

Stanton just uses slideshows for the entire class which can be a bit boring. His tests are easy if you show up on the review and study the homework. The class isn't hard if you study even just the slightest bit.

I had him for Geo 1010 and Oceanography 1010 both got A's in, and he is very understanding. Gives extra credit, and tests are easy as long as you go to class 50% and go to the test review day. Study an hour or two before the test and you will ace it and not need any extra credit.

Not sure how anyone could hate this teacher. Really easy to talk to, does in fact know his stuff. Cool teacher, easy class, would recommend to anyone.

Great class, I loved it. This teacher is one of my favorites for sure. He does field trips and such as well which were always really fun(and you could get extra credit!). He's a really funny guy too and the class was *almost* always interesting.

This class was super easy. there is no need to buy the book because he doesn't really use it. I didn't buy the book because I saw on here that people said not to. I didn't and I don't regret it because we didn't use it once. His lectures are on powerpoints that he puts online. study that and the reviews for the test and you will be fine. GREA

Stanton is the man! I actually learned a ton and enjoyed his class lectures a lot. Using powerpoint for everything creates a great visual learning environment. He's way helpful and really a cool guy.. I wouldn't buy the textbook, his power points are on blackboard and they are more than enough to learn from. DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT!

This is a great class for a physical science credit and an easy A. The homework is online and extremely easy because you get multiple attempts. The tests are easy for the most part and there is no need to buy the book. The only downside is that the lectures can be boring at times.

Highly recommended! He's a really laid back guy. The homework only takes a couple minutes and the tests are easy. He gives pop quizzes so go to class.

Excellent teacher. I wasn't too interested in Geology before the class but totally fell in love with it. He explains things really well and makes the lectures interesting and amusing. He's laid back and fun and very helpful. Go to class and pay attention, and you'll do well. I definitely recommend this teacher and would take him again.

He was a pretty good teacher overall. His GEO 1010 wasn't hard as long as you make sure to do your work and keep up in the class.

His assignments are really easy as long as you do them before the deadlines you'll get 100% on all of them, the tests are hard, but if you attend class and go over all the review stuff he provides you'll do ok. Learning about rocks was less boring than expected...

Great! I was not looking forward to geology and I was pleasantly surprised. Funny guy. Easy assignments. If you're there for the test reviews, tests are pretty easy.

Easy class all except the tests. However, he curves them so your grade ends up being way better than you thought. Homework is online and easy, you get 2 tries, gives you the answers after the first. Ony used the textbook to do test corrections, which he gives more points for. Assignments are easy as well. Good class overall.

I loved his class! It does take a while to get to dinosaurs but its still fun. Very understanding and cares about the class and makes it interesting. Not a lot of homework and easy to prepare for the test! Loved this class and would take it again.

I took geology and prehistoric life from Stanton. He is a great professor. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. I would recommend not buying the textbook, they are expensive and you can get by without them easily if you go to class and or just look at the power points, hw, and past quizzes posted online.

Really easy, realizes you have other classes and that this one may not be a priority. Super nice easygoing guy. Go to class-there are surprise quizzes at the end of some class periods. Gives great pre-test reviews. Really fun optional fieldtrip.

I loved Oceanography more than I thought I would. Be there for review days and when you can since there might be surprise (short) quizzes. and do the homework (you get 2 attempts). Really nice guy and you can tell he likes what he teaches. Let's hope the final goes well!

Great teacher. It may be be taken for the "physical science" general ed requirement but it's worth it and one of my favorite science classes that I've had for a while. Take his class!

Seriously the easiest class I have taken at UVU. He's legit, the homework is easy and you can do it twice, after the first time you see the answers. If you can take him for all of your science classes you will get an A and only go to class once a week. He gives you the questions to the test the day before and goes through the answers with you.

Andrew is great! He loves geology and is awesome! I found his tests a little hard, but I didn't put a lot into the class and was still able to pull an "A". He gives lots of extra credit and the homework is easy! I would recommend him to other students. I really enjoyed his class.

Stanton would quickly go through the slides on the lecture so it was kind of difficult to take really good notes. But he gives lots of extra credit opportunities and there aren't many tests or quizzes (and they are curved anyway). He does a good job helping you understand why this is actually useful in real life.

Mr. Stanton was awesome. This is an extremely passable class and you really learn some great knowledge. He is passionate and loves to teach. Lots of small assignments and 3-4 tests including final. Tons of opportunity for extra credit. Great teacher!

Really easy class. Gives you chances to get extra credit if you need it. Tests are really easy. Does give pop quizzes but those are open books so bring your book to every class or take a lot of notes. Attendance isn't required but quizzes and test reviews in class helps a lot. Good class choice for that 3rd Science requirement.

One of my favorite classes out of my entire school career. He made science interesting. It is quite hard to fail. Pop quizzes are given when he feels like it but are only worth 2 or 3 points. Very clear on what is due and when. Book is a good resource to go to when you are stuck but not used much at all. If I could retake this class, I would.

Solid choice for a geology lab. He lectures, then you do a worksheet. You can work in groups or alone. He's very helpful if you have a question. Also available outside of class. He drops your lowest grade, and bases your overall grade on a curve. No midterm or final. Easy A!

He was very clear while teaching and I feel like I learned a lot. The labs weren't all that hard, but when you had questions he would help you out. Plus he's the only Professor I've ever had to wear a suit and tie to class every time.

This was the ideal teacher to have for the lab course- in a super busy semester. He doesn't give homework as you do the work during class- It was a fun lab! I'd recommend this to anyone needing it. Clear expectations- Clear explanations- Great teacher overall!

This was a fun lab. Prof. Stanton did a great job engaging the students in his lectures so the class didn't seem so long. Never gave homework, the lab was just due the same day in class. The material was difficult but if you pay attention and participate in the lecture you will be fine. Drops lowest lab score and grades on a curve.

Great lab, it was easy and interesting. He goes off on tangents and my brain had a hard time sticking around for those but the labs, group work and hands on stuff was pretty interesting. Easy A if you show up.

I took the geology lab from him and his lectures were very clear and to the point. Not scatter brained or random at all. He helped on the lab assignments and graded them quick so you get them back the next week. Really made a seemingly boring subject pretty cool and easy.

No attendance, but random quizzes instead. I wouldn't say that it's an easy A, you would still have to focus and take a lot of notes, but it's maybe an easy B. He doesn't advertise this, but on canvas he has practice tests for each test that are almost identical so if you take those, and pay attention with some moderate notes, you'll do fine!

This was a really easy A and awesome class. He is interested in Geography and really makes it easy to pass his class. The info learned is also interesting and even if you have to miss class sometimes, you'll be fine. He does review sessions too and will give you tons of answers for tests and finals!

Especially if youre not interested in science, youll probably find the class boring, but definitely an easy A. If you go to the review sessions and study with the practice tests online, youll be fine. Theres a ton of extra credit too and the final is graded on a curve. You also definitely dont need the book. I looked at it once the entire time

One of the easiest classes you can take. Professor Stanton makes everything clear and his labs are simple and straightforward. He's more than willing to help out with the labs and he's a guaranteed A. He's a funny guy and he's the only professor I've met to wear a suit every single day.

Professor Stanton was so funny and I really enjoyed his class. I never felt overwhelmed and he always was understanding of students. Every class was a lecture, but overall if you come to class you will pass. Great professor and person!

Stanton is one of the only professors I've had that's funny and it's appreciated. Had him for lab. There's no homework outside of lab which was really nice, besides quizzes. I actually learned from his lectures. Just show up and listen. Final was also optional, meaning it could only raise your grade which was really nice.

I took this class in the summer as a block class. There was a lot cramped into the block, but the guidelines were clear and the workload was manageable. Overall, it was a pretty easy GE credit that I would take again.

from my experience you have to pay attention 24/7 and writing notes is highly recommended but if you just work hard he's not a scary strict teacher. He was a pretty nice dude.

Great prof. His class was actually pretty easy. I think the best way to pass his class with flying colors is to attend class. A lot of people didn't and can still get a decent grade, but Oceanography was actually really interesting. He also had attendance quizzes everyday. Attending most classes and doing extra credit got me an amazing grade.

Didn't know someone could be such a nerd about rocks! Great guy and a great professor. His lectures are simple and the homework is straightforward. Its easy to succeed in his class. Just come to class, take notes and you will do just fine on everything else.

This class was reading heavy, however, I learned a lot. I feel like most of the reading assignments and lecture videos helped me understand the subject better. There is opportunities for extra credit and doing test corrections. If you do the homework/readings on time and not get behind, you'll do great in this class!

Professor Stanton is a nice and easy going professor. It was a fairly simple geology class. Mostly lectures with slideshows every class. The homework and tests are all online and you can use your notes and there are opportunities to get a point bonus. There are daily attendance quizzes with a code but a few low ones get dropped at the end.

Super chill dude. Lectures can get a little dull, but he's fun, and obviously likes geology and teaching. And I swear to god, every lab he had a different tie on. He drops your lowest graded lab, and you're able to do them on your own if you're unable to make the class. Also, the final is optional. Overall, chill class that was easy to pass.

Andrew Stanton taught my first lab course and he turned my pre-semester anxiety into genuine excitement for every class period. Participation matters but the OPTIONAL final will cover 1-2 labs, and he's very willing to accommodate you. You'll fail if you skip every class, but otherwise easy A! My advice: make friends with your table!

he takes attendance with a quiz, and the code is given in class. but you can find it on the course media tab on canvas. so this class is super easy to pass without going. there are a few assignments throughout the semester and theyre super easy, final is online and pretty easy as well. he was a cool guy though i would take this class again for sure
