Best sleep you'll EVER have. He knows what he's talking about, you just wont care. Tests are easy cause you get index cards. Labs are pointless but easy too.

there are three tests, the lowest one is dropped. for each test you can bring a 4x6" (large) index card with notes scribbled all over it, and for the final you can bring three. if you go to class, you don't even need to get the text (saves you $75).

Andy Telescope is the man. Finally a 101 course that's actually easy. He's not as mean as people says, he knows and understands that everyone wants to do well.

I personally thought he wasn't that bad. As long as you take good notes and go to his lectures you'll do fairly well in his class. He can be pretty funny sometimes too. He lets you bring index cards and he expects you to understand the concept and apply it to the things he teaches on the test.

He is funny and a good teacher. Tests are based entirely on lecture, so take good notes and learn the information. He let us drop 1 out of our 3 tests, and count our best grade twice. Most people don't do that well in the class though.

Not a bad teacher, but the tests are not based on notes, they're based on previous tests from previous semesters. Find people who already took this class, and get their tests. He gives good curves. ie my 65 became a 90 something. take the class. He is boring though. I got an A- in the class.

This is the easiest class I have taken up to date. He gives you so many chances to get an A. 50 points to do an evaluations.

I didn't think this class was that bad, everyone else seemed to hate it though. If you make an effort the tests are very easy, expecially because he let's you bring an index card. And if you're interested in the subject, the class is fine.

I loved this class because those who did the work and paid attention got good grades, and the slackers didn't. I mean, come on, the guy DROPS the lowest test grade out of only 3 tests, and you get like half a test's bonus for filling out a simple evaluation of the course at the end. I personally loved the course matter too.

Very nice, humorous professor, but for someone with ADHD like me, his class is almost impossible to sit through. Not his fault as a person or a professor, he just has a very slow, meandering style of teaching that I cannot learn from. Still attended every class and received an A for the course.

He may come off as mean in the lectures, but if you meet him one on one he's really a nice guy. If you go to class and answer all those stupid questions you get a 100 test grade. The material is a bit difficult, just re-read it in the text. The tests are hard and tricky, but if you study hard enough you'll do well. Bring laptop to class!!

Telesca is a nice guy but the tests are really hard and the lectures are pretty boring. Only take it if you're into astronomy.

Awesome guy! I love him, yeah he's boring, but he's pretty easy and pretty cool. Take that extra credit part he talks about, that'll really boost your grade.

The first half of the class is easy, but the second half the material gets much harder...the clicker actually does reward you for going to class, so go to class! The tests aren't all based on the lecture like he says, so definitely read the textbook too. He's a nice guy, a little boring sometimes but fair and organized.

Telescas the man... class isnt hard at all all the tests are real easy .. u can bring cheat sheets 4x6note cards.. its an automatic A if you just go to class.. finals optional u can drop 1 of the other 3 tests real real easy.. do extra credit and u will get an A

I don't know if Telesca has changed recently but past comments seem to indicate that he shot down a lot of questions. Seemed to me like he was willing to answer any question anyone asked without providing sarcasm, and always extended to offer for extra help during his office hours. Easy tests if you go to lecture and take advantage of index cards.

His bark is bigger than his bite, even though he seems like a grumpy old man when you try to approach him. He teaches a great class though, and keeps it funny and interesting, especially with all the questions. Makes it really easy for anyone to get an A, but you MUST go to class though and pay attention. Really recommend if you need lab credit.

Easiest class ever. Just show up to class and complete the clicker questions and you'll grade will go up a whole letter grade. All you have are tests. And he drops the lowest one and you can skip the final. Great, easy class

He's really a nice guy, go talk to him during office hours, he's more than willing to help you out if you talk to him. He might be pretty mean in class sometimes but what do you expect with a class of 400 students taking it for a gen-ed?

Easiest "L" class. Some people say he is mean, but he is not. With such a large class and many students treating the class as a total joke, they will be disruptive at times. As long as you come to class and write down notes (tests can be based on what he says, not just the slides), you will do fine. It is an easy A or A-.

He is hysterical and always tries to relate things to his own personal funny stories. Bring the clicker and notes to class because he relies on it heavily, but he drops the lowest grade so it's pretty easy to do well

Can be very funny or boring, depending on the day. Easy subject if you keep up with the class, powerpoint notebook with all his slides key to the class. Rubric is incredibly easy. You study, you get an A.

Very nice person. Easy grading policies. Would make you buy a lot of stuff, including his own power point slides. If you have some interest in astronomy, take this class.

beware the man is crazy! ppl doooooo the AGO its very helpful!!!!! TRUST.... btw bring something to do in the class because its crazy boring. Maybe a magazine or preferably your playstation. and sit back and enjoy the ride. :-)

The class is not that difficult, especially if you have a strong science background. Attendance is mandatory. A lot of people make him out to be an ogre. I did not have much direct interaction with him, but he seemed reasonable to me. Maintaining control of a class of 400 is no easy task, so he has to lay down the law from time to time.

Not a hard class. Come to class do the clicker questions and the AGO online questions and you will do fine. Matireal can be tricky but when you start to study things will become clearer. Nice guy and very approachable.If you have questions go to office hours and he will help Do not talk in class or you can be kicked out.The lab is easy no worries

OK. I pretty much got 50-70 range on the 1st 3 tests. Thought I was gonna fail the course. But turns out if you get 100s on the AGOs and show up to class, you'll get nothing lower then a B-. LOL. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Clear and Easy to understand. Overall he is a nice guy but he will keep his class in order when necessary. You must go to class due to the clickers but since the course is lecture based, you won't do well if you don't go. He gives you a lot of opportunities to improve your grade and is very fair. Online quizzes replace an exam, optional final. GOOD

Great teacher! Gives you many chances to do well in his class. Between the AGO, clicker grade, 3 tests & optional final, you can't do bad. AGO is straight from the textbooks, the tests are straight from the lectures which are mandatory since he makes you use the clicker but the clicker is an easy 100 if you pay attention. Take this class its great!

I took the online version of this course, and it was really easy. You have one discussion question to answer at the end of every week, and mc quizzes every week. It is pretty easy to do tho, except theres a research paper due at the end. If you need help, you can always e-mail him and he is pretty helpful. I recommend this class!

This is the easiest class I took so far, all you have to do is attend 10/12 lab classes. Preus is never really there- the TA runs the class, but all you do is sit at the computer with your textbook and answer lab questions. It is really simple as long as you follow the directions, it is more of a self-run class. You need to stay the whole time.

Personally, I liked the class. For all the haters out there if you would not spend so much time texting, goofing around on laptops, etc. during the class and actually DO THE READING and PAY ATTENTION and not be so rude to the professor, perhaps he would not be so unwilling to help at times. If you want an intro to Astronomy, take the class.

For those who approach this class with an entitled attitude thinking of getting an "A", get off your high horse. This generally seems to be the mentality here. The work is demanding, however, if you utilize all of the resources, this class is certainly passable. Mr. Telesca is a very fair man. He gives ample opportunity for everyone to pass.

This class is perfect if ur looking for an easy elective or major requirement! Chapter quiz once a week, all answers online. 5 discussion questions over semester, and 4 tests. Tests aren't always a breeze but you have all the resources in front of you. Overall, not a time consuming class and lets you spend time on more challenging courses.
