This class was extremely boring, difficult and Mr.Tucker was very hard to understand. He did not enunciate his speech so it was hard to understand what he was saying, his lectures were filled with so much jargon that it was hard to understand as well.

DO NOT TAKE! It will be the hardest semester of your life and even if you are smart you will be lucky to get a C in his class. He is nice but extremely hard. I would go as far to say that he may possibly be the hardest teacher at TCC.
Yes this is a hard class, therefore you can't blow this class off without studying. I learned a lot from him. But he's heavy accent does take getting use to.

Despite his less than perfect english, I thought the class was extremely fair. He does like essays, but he gives handouts with all the information you need to write them. I recommend reading the book, as well as going to class on a regular basis. If you don't mind doing that, you'll be fine.
cant understand a word this man says. he's from some african country and doesnt speak english well. you need to read alot on your own to pass. there was an essay on every test, usually he gives you a choice of two or three to pick from.
Hard to understand, but very helpful. Take good notes and you don't have to read the book. He covers everthing you need to know in class, he gives a very indepth study guide about a week before the exam. Essay question on every exam, tells you two questions he might use for the essay.
Very demanding from his students. If you do not study, be prepared to fail the class.
I enjoyed this class. He does have a very strong accent, but if you pay attention, you'll understand him. If you study your notes, and prepare for the essay, the tests will be easy.
teacher has an accent but that just makes it more fun. i took his macro class and didn't study at all at home...got an A. just GO TO CLASS and PAY ATTENTION. very fair with grades and if you are close to the next letter grade and he sees that you try....you'll get it!
OK course. Cant really make economics interesting. Tests are not easy. Study all the notes he gives and you will get a C. He is a nice guy but has a foriegn accent that can confuse you. His writing sucks on the blackboard. everytime he walks in the class he says "Ladies and Gentlemen"

OK, this guy does have a strong accent and yes his class is a little demanding. However, the good thing about this guy is that he lays down exactly what you need to do and to know to get an A. He gives test reviews that are almost exactly like the test. If you go to class regularly, take good notes and read the book you will have no problem.
Not a gimme course, but Mr. Tucker is a good professor if you're looking for a 'straight shooter'. He tells you exactly what you have to do and what is going to be on the test. The tests are on the days he says they will be and if you complete the reviews you will have NO problem getting an 'A' in either of the economics courses.
4 multiple choice tests with 250 word essays on each one.. Very tough material if you haven't been exposed to it before. Randomly takes attendance and the book is totally optional. I recommend it tho unless you have GOOD notes . He's not as hard to understand as you might at first think. Tries his best to be as clear and helpful as possible.
Although Mr. Tucker knows his subject matter very well relaying it to the student is another matter entirely. Test questions are often very misleading and often seem to come from outerspace, or are incomplete in their train of thought. Does not spend much time promoting the student's success. He is of the belief that you either get it or you don't

This guy is a good teacher. if your a busniess major, and need this course then take this guy. He is fair with the grades that he gives out. If you come to class and take good notes, read text, and ask questions when needed then you've got yourself an A.
He is very hard to understand. It takes you awhile to finally understand what he wants for his tests. He is very hard if you don't study like crazy for the tests. If you are looking for a blow off class for econ don't take him. He's too difficult to understand.
Very hard tests. Every test has a 250 word essay. The multiple choice is very tough, trys to trick you with very close matching answers, and confussing wording of questions. Had a 3.6 going into this class and made my first C. I studied for all the test, made an A in macro with a different teacher. I believe only 2 people made A's in this class.
His tests are very hard and isnt very helpful when you ask him a question he makes you feel stupid. Epitome of a college professor no short cuts or exceptions. Strong accent (west Afica)

WORST teacher I have ever had in my life. This is actually the first teacher that I know that really doesn't want students to ask questions. I would ask a question and he would try to make me feel stupid while having a "smurk" on his face. Taking notes in the class isn't that bad but the test are really really hard. Took this class online...BIG MISTAKE. This is definitely a course you need to take in the classroom. Also, I have to take micro economics next semester and I won't be taking him again. His tests questions are modeled after the online book multiple choice questions. Also, he gives you more info than you need for his tests which makes it even harder.
Worst teacher i have ever had in my life. Ended up having to drop the class cause i wasnt there when he handed back the first test (theres only 3) and he wouldnt show me my grade the next class.His accent is very strong (Liberia or Kenya) and gets very mad when you dont understand him. Dont take him.
Please save your time and try your hardest to find another professor. I have all As and a B at TCC and this is the only class that I've dropped. Very hard to understand when he's talking and doesn't like it if you ask questions.
Do not take him the class covers two homeworks and two test and final with short answers, multiple choice, and essay. I wish I would have drop the first week of class enter at your caution Good luck
This is a very hard teacher, prepare to learn your self if you take this teacher, very hard to understand explains fast and not very clear, take your time to choose another teacher please!! tests are hard as hell questions dont came from your notes, he always will tell you to read the book even thought he dont used it. Mr. Tucker was not that bad to me. I took him for a Macro in the summer and recieved a B. I didnt not great on test but i did the homework and came to class and participated and ended up with B. He is pretty easy going and if you ask him questions after class he is pretty helpful.
PLEASE do not take this class. First he has a very strong accent that is hard to understand. He is from Sierra Lione. We only used the book one time. Asking questions is a no no. He makes you feel so stupid when you ask questions. He gets really mad when you cant understand him. His tests are rediculously hard een when you study.
Mr. Tucker is a good teacher. He helps those who work hard and are not lazy. With Mr. Tucker, if you're a hard worker and show that you care about your grade by showing lots of effort, he will be extremely helpful. He always helped me when I needed it and I took him online. If you're a slacker don't take Dr. Tucker's class.
I took this class online, which in itself is challenging. Economics is by no means an easy subject however, follow the syllabus, do the homework, and study the information he tells you to, you'll be fine. I found him to be very helpful and he was alway available during his office hours. Be prepared to work, as you should for any college course.
His accent isn't as bad as some claim, but he's awful at understanding why students are struggling with the material. He would be confused and therefore condescending if a student questioned on something he felt was obvious. It made asking questions difficult and embarrassing.
Mr. Tucker is not a hard teacher. His accent was hard to understand for the 1st day. If you go to class every day, he's easy to understand. His tests are not hard if you take good notes and read the book. He expects students to work, even outside the classroom. If you pay attention and ask questions, he is a very nice, caring teacher.

Taking a foreign language class is easier than taking him. Understanding this professor is as dificult as pullin teeth while whistling.
I wouldn't say he is a horrible teacher, but he just stands in front of the class and tells you what things are doesnt write them down or really explain them and if you do ask a question he looks at you like your stupid. his test are nothing like he teaches and the short answer part no one ever gets right. dont take him if youd like to pass
Useless lectures as you can read the chapters yourself, you're in college now. This teacher has no application to the lectures he teaches and gives you advice verbatim out of the book.He will shoot down your concepts and give you the books definition. His tests are impossible due to short answer section having weight and he denies every answer.F IT
This class is doable. He lectures, but he knows what he's talking about. The information is useful for the tests. There are only 2, not counting the final so studying for them will make or break you. If you read the textbook and go to every class taking notes, you'll be fine.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! He never puts grades up there is no homework, quizzes or classwork leaving you two exams and your final ONLY to make up your grade. Each test has about 5 short answers that always come out of nowhere. Do your self a favor and don't take this class. You will regret it.
Terrible Teacher, doesnt like to explain himself, and doesnt like questions. Very difficult to understand because he mumbles along with a strong accent. Take my advice and do not take him!
WORST TEACHER EVER!! I am a A/B student, and i took him during the summerand got a D. I went and talked to him mulitpile times wondering how im doing so bad, he told me i should be able to be ok, then i get a D. I regret taking him! Is not helpful in class, and does not really care.

Mr. Tucker is a great teacher. If you come to class, and take excellent notes you should have no problem in this class. The material is extremely difficult, and he expects you to know the stuff he teaches for the test. If you are having problems he is easily approachable in his office. He doesn't do blackboard.
I don't know why this guy is a teacher, he HATES students and he REALLY hates students that ask questions. Dismisses students as "stupid". He won't respond to phone messages or email. He is frequently missing during his posted office hours. Very hard to understand due to accent. Do not take him!

Mr.Tucker, is the worst person to take for a class like this. He lectures and uses chalk to do the lectures, and all of his sentences end with etc. etc. etc! I hate when he says that instead of finishing his explanation. It's very hard to understand him. He talks low,and his accent is very thick. Take someone else.
he is very hard to understand and refuses to answer questions. His lectures are barely helpful, and he only uses a chalkboard and scribbles all over it. You can barely read his handwriting and he never finishes writing sentences, he just stops halfway through and continues to his next point. But, the final is almost word for word from other tests.
Class is difficult and will force you to think about the topic. If you want to do well, you must be willing to read the textbook and attend all lectures. Nice guy, but tests were difficult and required lots of individual effort by student.
He a good teacher, on point, need you to be analytical,it is not a vocabulary class. He have written notes on the daily, take the notes, read the book. Gives you plenty of examples, do them and you will be okay.

The instructor was awful with helping the student. There were only 3 test (including final) which made passing the classes extremely difficult. I got a C and most of my classmates received D's or F's. I don't recommend taking him, but then again, I don't think TCC has a strong economics program.
This class is not a super hard class, but has a lot of detail to it. This paticular instructor is very hard to understand and he does not provide written notes.He also is a hard grader and not leniant at all with late/missed work/make-up tests.Overall, teach yourself.Don't ask questions because he will make you feel stupid in front of class.Average
Really cool outside of class, however in class he's rude and tries to make you look like an idiot. He contradicts himself and is only interested in saving his own ass. If you want a good grade, if you want to learn about economics and retain the info don't take this professors class. He's a bad professor. Simply put.

Mr. Tucker is a very nice lecturer.You need to attend class. Take good notes.If you did not understand then you need to see him after lecture or go to his office with your notes so he can explain.Read the book, there is a lot of information. Very difficult to understand b/c accent. If you dont have the book it makes it very hard to follow along during his lectures. He isnt helpful, tests are difficult & he only gives three test & that includes the final. Do not slack off, you will need to set aside a lot of time to study and prepare for his tests. Mr. Tucker is quite a character. He's very serious about economics, and very knowledgeable. But I had a really hard time with his class. You need to read the textbook, because there is material on the tests that he doesn't cover. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions, and definitely plays favorites. If you're a good student you'll do fine

Super serious about economics, but he doesn't use technology, so no power points, study guides, blackboard, ect. If you want to talk to him, you have to go to his office hours, & there is a 25% chance he will be really late or just not show up at all. Don't bother asking questions, you'll just tie up time and get nowhere; he's really sarcastic.

The first day you will want to run out of the door because of his heavy African accent, give it two or three classes and you will understand everything he says. Really good notes, he gives 3 tests, the last one of the three is the final and is CUMULATIVE. Gives you one extra credit and you have weekly worksheets GRADED FOR COMPLETION
He's not TERRIBLE. He was probably was one of two or three teachers I liked. His class is difficult, however, participate in class. Answer his quesitons, he will always tell you are wrong (even if youre right and he restates your answer) if you're not a preppy sorroity girl and dont act like a bump on a log youll be fine. I took him for both ECONs

Andrew Tucker must be misunderstood, he is a very good teacher. He knows his material and allows time for notes to be taken and understood. His accent is not that bad, but you must be paying attention as you should in every class that you wish to do well in. I really am enjoying his class this semester, and it starts at 9 am.
He may get a lot of flak, but he professes well. Tests are easy, papers are easier, and hardly any homework. Show up for in-class assignments or else you lose out on a good 10% of your grade. He has a tendency to chew people out for asking dumb questions and it's pretty funny. Class is an easy A just as long as you listen to what he says.
Very knowledgeable man. He takes Economics very seriously, but teaching is not his thing. He often looks like he is in the worst mood, and this makes his classes very boring. He uses very sarcastic jokes that make students uncomfortable. Be ready to feel dumb after asking him a question, which he wouldn't answer clearly.
DON'T TAKE HIM! He has such a bad attitude toward the students. Doesn't explain clearly. Doesn't use technology at all. He jumps from subject to subject in a very confusing way. If he doesn't like you he would let everybody know that through the way he talks to you or just by saying he is "disappointed" or "frustrated." I studied by myself.

Took a C in macro last semester and signed back up with him for micro this semester. Accent takes a few classes to get used to, but isn't that bad at all. Show up to class, pay attention, and he will cooperate with you; he values hard work. 2 Exams, second one is usually more difficult than the first. STUDY!
He is a very good teacher that will always go back and review the material if you are confused. The tests are hard but only because the subject matter is hard. He makes the subject matter real and personal so that you're actually interested in learning about it. Definitely recommend him for Economics Micro and Macro.
Everyone who complains about having Professor Tucker probably doesn't show up to class or care enough to put some work in. Not an easy course for most, but Mr. Tucker knows what he's talking about, and I know I could have came to him if I had any issues with the material. Just go to class and put your work in and you will be fine.
I took Professor Tucker for both Macro and Microeconomics. He is very intelligent and knows every inch of economics therefor he teaches it very well. If you are just looking for an easy A and dont care much about learning then do not take professor Tucker, but if you are serious and want to actually learn then I highly suggest you take him!!
He's a little strange but a very intelligent guy. He likes things done his way and if you don't do it his way well tough luck. His test are brutal!!! His tests are some of the hardest tests I've every taken! I advise you to wait to take economics after you transfer to an other school because none of the economic professors at TCC are good.
This class was not an easy A. You definitely have to work for your grade and make sure you know the stuff forwards and backwards. If you take macro economics with professor Tucker and need help, I have posted notes for his class on chapters 1-9 on Flashnotes.

He is a very good teacher, just don't skip class and pay attention. you work for your grade, he won't just give it to you. He knows his stuff and I took him for both Macro and Micro Economics. I would recommend taking him as long as you plan to actually go to class.
Took Tucker for both Micro and Macro, if you're looking for an easy A Tucker is not the prof for you! If you really want to learn the material, he is definitely the prof for you!
Listen carefully and don't miss class. it's a hard course and he wants you to do well but you have to take notes of everything so the final will make sense. Also fill out his study guides they help a lot
I attended his class every day and dreaded it. His thick African accent makes it too hard to understand. He never put your grades into blackboard, so you really had no idea what your grade really was. I am an usual low A high B student and struggled.
He is hard to understand at first but you get used to his African accent. Just sit in the front of the class. Take good notes. He was good at explaining the material. Few homework assignments, just graded for completion. I would take him again. Show up to class, pay attention, read chapters from the book and you WILL pass.
Does he get the point across and explain things well? Yes. HOWEVER, he is very impatient when you don't understand. When you ask questions, he cuts you off. He speaks in a very aggressive tone and personally he gives me anxiety. I don't mind the class itself but you have to be able to tolerate him as a professor. Gives study guides. TESTS ARE HARD.

This professor knows Macro Economics, this is true. He is not a good instructor. When he wrote on the board he stood in the way making it difficult to see. He is not technology literate. He is very argumentative. I am truly surprised that he has been teaching for 25 years... Worst professor ever!

Oh my goodness, this class on God stressed me tf out and gave me anxiety. this is the toughest class I ever taken in my life. the notes you take in class KINDA help you, & when it comes to the exams, may the good Lord be with you. literally is worded completely different. yes, he's nice but a tough grader & arrogant & moves at a very fast pace lol.
I do not recommend taking this professor. He does not post any grades into canvas or blackboard or whatever your portal may be. His thick accent makes it very difficult to understand. If you miss a class where tests are given back, you won't ever see yours again. The study guides contain way too much unnecessary information.

Just like everyone else has said, Mr. Tucker is not an easy teacher and his class is not a joke. He will give partial credit on tests, but not too much. The homework is easy and his tests are difficult. He truly knows his material but has a difficult time teaching it the same way he tests it. Overall, not terrible, but yes hard and not an easy A.
Honestly, I really enjoyed Mr. Tucker's class. I cant stand people who claim his accent is hard to understand. That's ignorance, he's completely articulate. He is brilliant but doesnt know how to teach at a novice level. He does get flustered if you dont grasp things immediately. Don't interrupt or argue. He expects you to behave like an adult.
Joke class. We got behind in the material and ended up taking the last exam 2 days before the final. Class is graded by points. 500 total, 450 is an A, there are 3 exams and a few homeworks. Some bonus points. Interesting material. Wish I had a different prof. Honestly you could skip all lectures, read the text & get an A if youre decently smart.
When I registered for this class, the instructor was "TBA." I always use this site and had I know it was this teacher, I would have elected to not take it with him. 1. On several occasions, he did not show up and sent a sub to give out worksheets. 2. Even if your answers are correct, no partial credit. 3. Very hard to understand. I dropped class!
Ive taken Mr. Tucker for both micro and macro despite all the negative review. Im glad I ignored the reviews because Mr. Tucker is actually a great teacher. I would not say that im an overachiever and I am definitely lazy but if you have half a brain you should be able to pass this class. Follow the material in class do your HW you should be fine.
It was extremely hard to understand him and our only grades were 5 point quizzes and the 100 point tests so if you don't do well on the tests your grade will reflect it
I highly recommend NO ONE to take this professor. I'm a very eager student to attain A's in all my courses. This was the only class I ended with a C in. This professor is hard to understand and impatient. Not easy to work with and gets irritated to answer questions. You basically teach yourself by reading the book. Tests are HARD. No extra credit.
Professor Tucker was great! Ignore the negative reviews. If you put in the work, it's the easiest A you could get. All you have to do is listen to his lectures and read. He was also super nice... he let me take 2 of my exams (incl. final) early. If you apply yourself, he really likes you and will help you out however he can.
Very skeptical about this teacher after reading reviews. I took him for macro and will be taking him again for micro not my 1st choice though Every class period is lecture and notes. He is impossible to understand. At first it seems like you might get used to it or that he would make an effort to be more clearer but it gets worse. He goes from whispering to suddenly shouting 1 or 2 words then back to whispering, as if the accent wasn't enough. Also never answers questions and if he does he makes you feel stupid for asking it.
Tucker knows the material well, but he does a bad job testing on what he teaches. The tests are based off the book, not his lectures, so you can take all the notes you want but unless you read the book your gonna be lost. My other critique is that he responds very harshly to questions. A lot of people say his accent is horrid, its not that bad.

I took Mr. Tucker for both Micro and Macro. He is very clear in his expectations and is willing to help you if he sees you are doing your best. His accent is easy to understand after the first couple classes. Don't skip if you can help it! And take good notes! You have to get used to him, but he's a great teacher. You'll learn a lot!
He is rude to students, and gets made for people preforming poorly even though he does not explain the material. I got a B in the class but his class sucked
Do not take this professor!!! He is very condescending and if you have a question dont even think about asking it. He doesnt like to help students out and makes you feel stupid if you dont understand something. Is not good about responding to emails and has no respect for his students.
I am not going to lie, Tucker was a pretty decent teacher. It's pretty straightforward. His lectures are entertaining especially when he goes off on a brief tangent. The lectures help you understand the math portion of economics, while the online assessments helped you with what is going to be on the tests. He's an interesting character. 3.5/5
I didnt understand him and also if he gives you work and its not the way he said he will not give you credit for the work
Literally going out of my way to take another professor for ECO2023. Tucker was rude, condescending, & extremely passive aggressive. Refused to answer questions in a professional manner. As a 30+ yo student, it was asinine to have a prof berate the entire class & basically tell us all we were going to fail. Not sure why TCC keeps him. HORRIBLE.
I took his ECO2013 (Macroeconomics) this fall and its the worst decision Ive made. I am a A student, I did the see the reviews for him and I thought it couldnt be THAT bad but it is. He lectures every day, yells at us for not taking notes (although we all do), puts you on the spot then shames you if you dont know the answer. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Great professor who cares about the course and student's success. He does his best in his lectures, even when students do not tend to pay attention. He could use a bit more of digital tools, such as power point, but even what he does is more than enough. I recommend!

I didn't look at the reviews before I signed up for this professor and I wish I did. He criticizes students for asking questions. He calls students out randomly and if you answer wrong he will make you feel stupid. Also, it is difficult to understand him at times. I would recommend taking a different professor for this class.

He lectures in class and explains stuff when you ask him to. If you read the book, attend class and do the work, you will understand the material and pass the tests.

DONT DO IT. i only took him because he had the "highest" reviews out of all the econ. prof i could choose from. Prof. Tucker doesnt answer emails, you cant understand him, and im not even 100% sure he put in my FINAL exam before grades were pulled
Mr. Tucker was the rudest instructor I've ever had. In one class he asked for an answer and called ona student, the student gave his best guess just for this instructor to tell him "you aren't very bright are you?" This is wildly inappropriate and unnecessary. He expect us to teach ourselves and come to class knowing all the material DONT TAKE
Tucker has a lot of bad reviews but I loved him. You definitely have to work for your grade. He is very passionate and interesting and usually ends class early. If you read the textbook, attend lectures, and STUDY you'll be fine.
