After being at UoG for 4 years, he is by far my fav prof. His lectures were energetic and interesting, he definately had a passion for what he was teaching, and it showed. He used realistic examples and definately was not hard to follow.

This professor is incredible! You will learn so much from him. The exams are moderately tough but his lectures are so interesting that you'll actually want to go to them all... (Which always improves your grade.) I got an 85!

Very humble and humourous, Winston kept my attention and increased my enthusiasm for psychology. It is nmot a very demanding course, but was fun nonetheless. He has tenure and isn't afraid of being critical of the University.

Prof. Winston is AWESOME! SO funny and full of energy, and he tells great stories in class. My favourite involves him breaking open a pop machine with a two by four 'cause it ate his last dime...Everyone should take his Psych class! You'll love it!!!

History of psych sounds like it is going to be boring, but Dr. Winston made it super interesting! He's an excellent professor, approachable, funny, witty!

I loved this course! Prof. Winston made it so interesting! Especially with the little videos he shows, very helpful. It was a very well-taught course, though if you don't come to lectures and don't read the textbook carefully you're screwed for exams. It was my favourite course this year.

I LOVE WINSTON!! Best teacher at Guelph. His exams are tricky, but if you do the readings and pay attention in lecture, you're good to go. GO WINSTON GO:D

Great Prof. THe lectures are interesting and fun to go to. The midterm was hard, but you can do really well if you study. The final was easier. He wants his students to ask him questions about anything. THis was a great course!

READ THE TEXT before the midterm and the exam! 80% of his questions are straight out of the textbook...can't get much easier than that.He's a good prof, but i thought he'd be boring at the beginning of the semester

This man is arrogant & a hypocrite. He makes little comments that put others down & then talks about the perils of national socialism & racism. If he realized that the fundamental problem w. racism is people thinking that they are above others, he might not sound like such an ass. otherwise, he's ok

Really interesting to listen to. Go to class cause the slides don't say it all. The subject matter is interesting and Winston makes it seem like there isn't such a big class. Ask questions. Generally great prof.

He's such an awesome prof! Granted that his exams are a bit tricky, however if you go to the lectures and do the readings, you'll be fine. I needed help with the essay in this class and he helped me out so much! So nice and friendly!He's really amazing.

He is honestly the best prof I have had so far. He's interesting, encourages us to ask questions on anything, his midterms aren't that bad if you skim through the text and GO TO CLASS. Whoever doesn't like him is bitter that they didn't do well in his class.

I thought he'd be a bore but Dr. Winston was a great prof and gave great lectures. I always looked forward to his class. The reading was dry, but a necessity.

i thought he would be a totally bad psyc prof like the the teacher i had in highschool. he isn't so bad. he's really friendly. he loves questions, even if they may be trivial ones. he's rather tricky sometimes, but generally you do fine if you do the readings and go to lectures.

he's ok......he's kind of full of himself. His lectures are relatively engaging, he gets really into them which is nice. He posts his notes too which is helpful.

Dr Winston is an incredibly engaging individual - definately an excellent intro-psyc teacher. and hes a very sweet man, my guess is he was attractivein his day;)

I'm amazed at how well he can lecture a class of 350. Very engaging and interesting. He gives a very good overview for this introductory psyc class.

He's just the best...made the course so clear and interesting

I took this class 4 years ago and still remember him teaching. His character and morality shine through with each lecture. He is a great man and Guelph Students are lucky to take his courses. (PLUS He's HOT)

His tests are hard, but he is just an AMAZING prof! Lectures are interesting, and clear.

SO INTERESTING. He turns very dry material into something you actually want to listen to. He'll even spontaneously jump on to a table to illustrate his points. Unfortunately his exams are tricky, and he doesnt cover alot of what you need to know in class.

Prof is excellent, he keeps your attention by being very dynamic and active in his teachings. He is fun to watch as he cannot stand in one place while he is teaching for more than 3 seconds. He also uses the table in his examples. However, exams can be difficult.

FABULOUS PROFESSOR!! MY favourite class. Tests/Exams were easy...you just have to read the text book!! His teaching was interesting, and very easy to listen to. He truly did JUMP onto the table at the front of the lecture hall to show us what he was talking about. If you have him, you're seriously lucky.

I was totally dreading Hist of Psych and Winston made my favourite psych class by far. He is a FASCINATING man and throws in so many great psych stories. Exams were a ton of work, but I worked my ass of and did well so they're fair. Favourite psych prof by far, this guy is so great.

I LOVED professor winston! He was by far my favourite professor that I have had so far. He made me want to learn more about psychology, and made class interesting. I loved his side notes about Rushton (take the class and you will know what I am talking about) He is the most enthusiastic professor I have had, and I loved his lecture style!

He's a great prof! You do need to know your stuff and pay attention. The text is very helpful and is used a lot in his lectures. Overall great guy! I would personally love to have another class with him later on.

Had Winston for intro psyc and he was an amazing prof, his teaching style really helps you to be interested, enjoy class, to learn and to do well. I then had him for History of Psyc (4th year) At first i thought it would be boring but his teaching made it AMAZING. My favourite class for the entire 4 years! His teaching was even better than in Intro

He made lectures so fun and interesting. Lots of energy. Lots of test material was from the textbook. Such a great teacher... I hope to have another class of his again!

Best professor ever. I love how he says, "ok, bye" at the end of his lectures, it's so cool. He is very handsome as well. Aging like a fine wine. Explains everything crystal clear. Definetly one of the most articulate people I've ever met.

My favourite prof so far. I took psych as an elective and i didn't even think I'd like it but Winston made it fun! He's so cool. He makes everything really interesting, and I love how he plays music before classes! Rock on Winston, rock on! :D

I enjoyed being in Winston's class from the first day I had it! You can really tell he loves to teach this course and he is full of energy. I like how he incorporates video clips and isn't afraid to make a joke here and there. As for the midterm, you are responsible for reading a fair bit of the text book on your own but he does make this clear bef

Winston is the most brilliant professor I've ever had. I actually love that he's not afraid to be a hard ass on papers. Lots of reading, definitely take this man's class before he retires.

What I respect most about this man (other than his absolute passion for the history of psychology) is that he is not afraid to blatantly criticize his colleagues (namely Prof. Rushton @ Western). Not afraid to stand up for what he believes in-- got to respect that. PLUS, he's super cute when he gets passionate about the lecture-- INCREDIBLE prof!

Best social science prof I ever had!!!!!

Winston is by far the greatest prof ill ever have. Im so sad he retired and none of the future freshman will get to be in a class of his. I emailed him for his playlist at the end of the semester and he sent it. Genuinely an awesome, respectable man. Diamond in the ruff.
