Dude sucks at his job. if you have 162 or plan to take it in the future just don’t go to lecture. just don’t. bad professor.
Worst lecturer I've ever had. Just rambles on and does practice problems without ever actually clearly explaining the lesson. The lecture hall is always almost empty because no one goes after the first week. Switch professors if possible or be prepared to seek out other resources because you're gonna need to learn the material somewhere else.
Switch sections if you can! His lectures have little to no structure and do not adequately explain the material so that anyone new to it can understand. When asked to slow down during lecture, he kept going at his regular pace. He does no math handwritten and rather just shows PowerPoint slides related to it.
This professor has incoherent lessons that are compromised of quickly clicking through slides and mumbling. I decided to stay in his lectures which only retained about 15% of the students by the third lecture. Most of my learning came from examples on the homework. I highly recommend switching lecturers.
Dr. Glubokov is incredibly kind and funny, however, he should not be allowed to teach students. He just reads off the slides and expects students to be able to tell what is going on.
I went to the first 3 lectures and could not understand him. He just reads off of a PowerPoint. You have to teach yourself the content. He seemed like a good guy but not a good teacher. During the final, they messed up a question and also was making an announcement that you couldn't understand during the final. Would not recommend.
MA 162 is a very challenging course and Professor Glubokov makes the course insanely more difficult. He is very difficult to understand and does not teach the course well. His lectures are slideshows and he doesn't do example problems in class, making it harder to grasp concepts. You would be better off going to another lecture or using Chenflix.
Awful professor. Doesn't help explain the lecture material, which explains why 90% of the class was gone after the first week. Tests are super tough and he fails to prepare us well for the exams. Get ready to consult other resources such as ChenFlix. This is already a very tough class and he just made it harder for us.
I liked the office hours and Zoom meetings every day.
To be honest the easiest lectures
I was attending all classes and it helped a lot. I would not pass if I missed some classes. Online quizzes were great.
I'm gonna give this guy his first actual review because I don't know what half of these comments are. He's a good guy, really smart, when he teaches material he knows the lecture is decent. Otherwise, get ready to read up on your own. The class was graded fairly but if you want to actually learn instead of just passing, then pick another prof.
Dude literally had no idea what was going on and was trying to teach us Calc 2 on a PowerPoint dated 4 years back and often didn't finish the slides leaving there any questions for everyone at the start of each recitation.
Get ready to teach yourself Calculus if you have Glubokov. The lectures are extremely unclear and not worth your time at all. They tried to teach math via PowerPoint slides, but sped through so fast that nobody could get any useful info out of them. Attendance on the first day was about 300 people, by the middle of the semester there were about 20.
Useless lectures and zero effort PowerPoint slides. TA CARRIED me so hard tho
The class was carefully crafted and I was prepared for exam.
The class was very effective we didn't lose any minute and ny notes helped me during exam preparation. It was additional help during the office hours.
Invest a lot of time in learning. Lectures help but not enough ..
This was the last Math class for me to get my Degree in May. I found a job in Data Science and the grade in Math was a decisive factor, so I hope you guys would take it very seriously. The TA was awful, but I used the prof office hours like 4 hours every day, I learned a lot.
We had a grader who took his job seriously and graded homework fairly. But if you weren't happy with your score you could submit it to Glubokov and he automatically gave you 100%. Both exams were very short and graded very leniently by Glubokov. Lectures were just him transcribing the textbook. I didn't learn much.
Enormously optimized instructions and effective delivery, outstanding performance and evaluation.

I am not lying. He is as awesome as the rest of these reviews say. The very bestestestestest Purdue math has to offer.
Andrey is this good. Over 200 reviews!!
Very long and difficult class it was indeed.Everyday classes and recitations. I am grateful for all the help I've got
Very entertaining class with a lot of Geogebra. Exam preparation is every day.
Such a nice guy with a good sense of humor. Lectures are really straightforward. Tends to assign a lot of homework, which sucked. But, as long as you attend class and do the homework, his classes should be a breeze.
The class has a very difficult final exam, but it can be done. Avoid if you can but it is required for the major. Teacher was ok
Professor Glubokov doesn't do a great job at teaching the material. Rather, he expects his students to read through the entire textbook and then come to lecture in order for him to "supplement" the readings. While this seems like an alright idea, he tends to get off track quickly and easily and is difficult to understand or follow at times.
Professor Glubokov had me prepared 100% for the tests. I was attending his office at least twice a week usually for several hours. He takes time to answer my questions about the previous exams Lectures also had most of the homework questions and some exam questions. I felt sorry for ones who skipped, they didn't know how to handle the tests
I did the bare minimum for this class. His lectures move slow and methodically through the content, it may feel slow at times but definitely appreciate it for the more difficult concepts. The homework is a lot but as long as examples are provided through Pearson, it's easy to get through. I spent very little time outside of class studying.
Professor Glubokov often had difficulty communicating class material. However, he's a very nice person who is always willing to help answer questions on assignments and the materials during class or in office hours. 72% of the class grade comes from a total of 44 problems, so beware of getting every single exam point you possibly can.
I had him for MA/STAT416 in Spring 2023. He was great at explaining the topics and graded very leniently on the exams. He gave practice exams that almost matched the real ones. On the final I attempted every questions and got an 80%.
Esteemed war hero, Father, and beacon of learning are what Andrey Glubokov encapsulates. A true american hero, he teaches students more than what's required in the classroom. He goes above and beyond as any proud boilermaker should. It is my pleasure to have absorbed Calculus 3 knowledge from none other than this man. Fantastic & highly recommend.
I am impressed with the time the professor spent in his office to help with students. He answer e mails everyday within ten minutes, and explain things completely. I am worried about the final, but he doesn't write it. It is multiple choice which is a real challenge for me.
He hosts long and frequent office hours, and genuinely cares about the learning of his students. He is very funny and keeps the class morale high. His teaching could be improved by better explaining the examples he solves. I did refer chenflix for the whole semester to get a good grade and understand the material.
Frankly, I don't like Prof. Glubokov's lectures. I feel they are a little bit unorganized. I attended the first two weeks of his lectures and just watched chenflix for the rest of the semester. But, he is always willing to help his students, he frequently held enlonged office hours and would email us in advance.
Very caring and empathetic to students. Always available for questions and office hours. Accent can be a bit difficult to understand at times, but otherwise a great professor.
Glubokov is a decent lecturer. His accent can sometimes be hard to understand, but he always makes sure to help students when they ask for it. His examples are sometimes helpful, sometimes not. I mainly used ChenFlix.
His lectures just were not helpful. I ended up using Chenflix to study. His accent is on the thicker side and it may be tough to understand. I have had my other bad reviews removed mysteriously.
Very Useful Office Hours and he gives a lot of extra credit.
This professor paid a bunch of bots to give him 5 star reviews. He doesn't teach, just goes through slides. Avoid him at all costs.
Attended every lecture. Got 200 on the final (25 questions) UFTA
Office Hours were amazing
The exams were much harder than in Calc
I was well prepared for exams. A lot of office hours. Some extra credits.
I was scared because many of my friends told me how hard the Probability was. Office hours helped a lot. Attend the class, a lot of insides.
It was a hard course
Great Professor.A first,we were worried about the required attendance. It worked actually fine.
I had this professor in Fall '22. It was not easy class, but I had a lot of help and support.
Very Funny First Lecture
Chill dude but does not teach well in lectures. Just read textbook or watch chenflix instead.
He is always energetic and happy to help students. I've never had a professor of such a large class who offered for students to email him directly with questions. Love Glubokov!
I took his online class and it was very difficult to keep up with. Very little explanation when I emailed him my concerns.
It was an Excellent in person class, very smooth.
The exam 1 was super fair.
I like his lectures very much, he uses Chenflix as a supplement and covers all tricky questions extensively. I signed for his Linear Algebra in Spring.
Thanks to Professor Andrey I chose my Grad School. The lectures were the best I had at Purdue, I didn't miss any. He made it very challenging during the lectures but exams were nice. Attendance was mandatory, which was reasonable. Good luck!
What a glamorous, cracking course!!! His fields are comfortably conservative, and his exams are easy.
The first exam was super stressful but went well. The second exam was very doable, the preparation was extremely well organized and I felt self confident. Everything went smoothly and I am waiting for my result.
There is a lot of help in this class.
This is an organized and well structured class.
What a funny man. Calc 3 was much easier than 1 and 2.
I feel like he is a good professor, however it does take a minute to get used to his dynamic. At the beginning of the semester, it was a bit hard to keep up with all his writing and notes, but by the middle of the semester I started to understand it more and more.
Glubokov changed my life! As a West Lafayette local (not a Purdue student), I can say that Glubokov taught me all I need to know about comparitive feminist literature! He inspires me to keep going every day.
Great guy, but his accent made it very hard to understand him during lectures which made calc 3 much harder than it had to be, but he chill
Easy class but lectures were very slow paced and sometimes hard to understand
Glubokov is not good at professing - the way that he explains the content is wildly confusing to me, as well as everyone else I have talked to in that class. I would recommend that you watch chenflix, or choose another professor like Toms, because he does not explain the content very well at all!
Good lectures, always available to help outside of class
His accent takes a second to get used to but is fine. His lectures aren't very good. You're way better off watching ChenFlix or reading the book. He gives good tips or hints about the midterms and finals in review lectures before tests, so go to those.
There's a reason so many people skip his lectures and watch Chenflix instead. I went to his lectures before exams and he really felt sluggish in solving problems, and it just wasn't great overall. Also don't be tricked by these botted reviews.
Glubokov is a really caring and great professor, but he makes the content more confusing than it needs to be. I've taken all three calculus courses at Purdue, and I can say with 100% certainty that Calc 3 was by far the hardest. There are only two midterms which are each worth 18% and a final which is worth 36% so the class is very test heavy.
The 100+ 5.0 ratings are very suspicious.... Glubokov is a nice guy and professor but not everyone agrees. He cracks jokes here and there in lectures, but sometimes his Russian accent makes understanding concepts a little more difficult. Watching Chenflix will get you through this class, and a lot of my friends stopped attending class after Exam 1.
While he was engaging and had his humourous moments, he is a poor lecturer, managing to make the rather simple concepts in Multivariate Calculus far more complicated and confusing then they needed to be. At times, his notes were incomprehensible and his explanations lacking. Anyone taking this class is better off using Chenflix.
I can tell this guy uses bots to farm 5-star ratings for him because he truly does NOT deserve a rating this high. I do appreciate the fact that he does work through example problems that are relevant to the exam material (unlike his twin bro Gabrielov). However, his heavy accent, sub-par handwriting, and overall dull lectures just dont work for me
These ratings are inflated. Glubokov is a nice guy who does seem to care, but he is an awful lecturer. He would never fully explain topics, and he would spend countless time on random ideas that weren't important. Used chenflix the second half of the semester.
Glubokov can be a bit tough to understand, but he's always happy to help during office hours. I found unstuck ai and ChenFlix super useful for study prep - definitely saved me some time.
Did better on second midterm and final when I stopped going to his lecture and started using chenflix.
Lectures are very useful. The book has much more info then needed for exam
I took his Mutivariate, nailed it because I 've got an excellent preparation during the reviews, and now I am going to tale the Linear Algebra.
he knows so much and explains clearly but the course is merely an intro I wish to take a combinatorics with him.
It was a very well organized course
I like the class very much
Awesome class
Great office hours
This is a great class
If I could give one piece of advice to future MA261 takers, it would be to not take Andrey Glubokov. The professor does not know how to teach, has given incorrect information and overall was not a pleasant teacher to have during my freshman year at Purdue. If you do have him, lock in on BoilerExams and Chenflix. Also he is botting his RMP reviews.
Good lecturer if you can get past the accent. He's always willing to help his students out if they come to him in office hours.

super super
Lots of stories to share, very experienced. Go to class for maximum benefit and understanding. Hard exams but not too hard to study for.
very easy everything
Lectures were extremely effective at explaining challenging content. Provided helpful example problems through lectures to reinforce concepts taught. Extremely approachable outside of class for help in office hours. Exams were straightforward with no surprises. Highly recommend.
Content wasn't even bad but the guy deserves a 1.0 rating for his horrible lectures and how he tries to hide his bad reviews by botting a bunch of 5.0s
Very clear lectures and pleasant learning experience during the summer
Incredibly smooth approach to the lectures leads to an atmosphere of learning and understanding, which results in solid test preparation.
He's like a happy grandpa and he explains things very well. Also he's pretty funny
a really good professor. His lectures are enjoyable and he responds to emails quickly. I enjoyed being in his class and he taught really well.
He is able to alleviate the pressure of the final exam.
Her lectures and exams more focused on statistical concepts understanding and real world application. I think most of her lectures explain the concepts pretty well and are align with her slides. I have to say she is teaching much much better than the other Stats class I took last semester. The format of homework is kind of tricky.
Some really like him. To me, he is OK. For independent learners I would not recommend this prof. Grading is arbitrary and can be (very) generous or harsh. Tests are based on in-class problems. Final was not the best. Supposedly cumulative but heavily lob-sided to last chapter. No curve. Difficult to reach for any appeals after grades are posted.
The office hours are very useful and final is pretty doable
Tests were hard
Pretty good class
It was a relatively well organized class. Professor acted optimally,no complains
Very easy class to take with this Professor.
Design of E is very useful class
Intense and brutal class but helpful professor, very optimistic. I do not know anyqone who ddn't succeed
Outstanding class performance!
Dr. G is one of my favorite professors. His class is very interest-based and open to further exploration. I contracted his class for honors credits, and he was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and easy to work with. If you like to be involved, you'll love his class!
Class was superpopular and very very crowded, big minus. It was also cold
Tough class, very lecture and exam heavy, but exam partial credit was pretty generous. Make sure to write down all that you can think of. Homework is participation, and a key will be provided, but no additional practice problems were given. Attendance is not required, but lectures are not recorded, and I would definitely show up to this class.
Class was superpopular and very very crowded, big minus. It was also cold+
This Dude is so popular, it took me two weeks to get in. I like his Chemistry, if you know what I mean
Amazing professor. One of the select few professors who know how to teach.
Amazing professor. One of the select few professors who know how to teach
So far so good
I adore this man. It's been years since I took his class and I still think of him often. One day I missed class due to a bit of a mental breakdown. The next class he called me out for missing last class, (I was scared) then he said in the sweetest way “I missed you.” Jesus that meant the world to me
Overall. great experiences during lectures. I felt very consistent. He organized his lectures to discuss topics from previous classes. While the exams are a bit challenging, it goes the same for most MA courses. Pro tip: consider use Boilerexams before your recitation quizzes and exams (it helps).
Very kind and considerate Professor

Great professor! Exams are tough but he is a reasonable grader.
Very easy and smooth class, time consuming because attendance is mandatory
They is the best professor/teacher I have ever had in my life. he truly cares about the students that he teaches; I have never met someone so passionate about bettering the lives of students. he was one of the first professors I had in college and I wouldn't change anything about class for the world. Also, GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!!!
Good class overall
Nice office hours
Easy pleasant class
Success all the way
Great class and lovely instructor
Professional and convenient
Very solid feedback
illustrious class
Botting RateMyProfessor reviews by a professor is a new low. Look up his name on reddit for actual opinions.
Helps students a lot
A person who did not attend the class and received mediocre grades blamed the instructor. I was on almost all lectures and it helped me very much to pass the course. It was a lot of work but it worth it. The instructor was awesome answering the questions during his office time. He has an accent, but it doesn't matter.
Very fair grader and a great personality. Lectures can be slightly hard to follow but overall very solid professor.
Thank our lord and savior Jesus amen that Andrey Glubokov entered my life. Prior to this experience, I was lost and depressed. However, when I finally understood the fundamentals of probability, I was saved. "They say getting an A is for the barbaric. Getting an F is where those with class lie." --Matthew 192 (The Quran)
Best professor ever. Made 67 joke during lecture.
Great guy, but not an amazing lecturer. The class was very slow (we didn't even get to a few things listed in the course description, like moments and CLT) but very easy. Kind of funny that he bots his rating.
Lectures are pretty slow-paced but he is very nice and cares a lot about students to the extent of knowing names and such. The final focuses a lot on content after the last homework covered in lecture so be prepared for that. Very lenient grading too. I highly recommend him if you want to have an easy probability experience.
