Radler is great, always makes himself available for students and makes sure everyone understands the material. He is very intellegent and handles the class extremely well. Very helpful and gracious.
Great teacher! Uses lots of real-world examples to illustrate concepts. Go to class and do the reading. You learn a lot.
I took professor radler last year at Chico State for Microeconomics. It was the best class I had, period. I am going to take him this year at Butte in Macroecoomics because you learn the material in a great setting. He does an excellent job.
I had radler for my A.P. high school course and am taking him again at butte college this next semester. He is an awesome teacher. He acts as a friend and a teacher which makes the class more enjoyable. MAKE SURE YOU COPY ALL OF HIS NOTES.That is mainly what he tests on a few multiple choice questions from the reading. All in all a fun teacher.
very funny and engaging
He is simply the best teacher I have ever had. He teaches so much in such an easy and relaxed style. Take him!!!!!
Radler is awesome. Going to class is a must. You need to be ready to go, listen to anything he says. Take good notes. The tests are hard if you don't know what you're doing. I also rated him at Chico State where he also is a professor -- great guy
This teacher moves very fast and is really not very helpful. He says he will help but when you ask for it he explains it to you so fast it's no help at all. Tests are on lectures making the textbook worth little. If you miss classes you can read the book, but it won't help you on half the test. If you must take don't miss a single class.
Radler Rocks. Lectures are clear and he explains things in a manner that is easy to understand. You have to work hard in this class to do well. Not sure what the person before is complaining about - he gives you every opportunity to succeed but you have to be willing to do your work
Radler is one of the tightest teachers at Butte. He is fair and relates real life situtions to Micro Economics. I highly recomend him to anyone. Awesome guy highly recomend him to anyone!
Great economics teacher. Expects a lot from students. Hard tests... but he lectures well and presents the material in a fun way. Ask questions. Very approachable professor.
Professor Radler is engaging, enthusiastic, and super smart. You will work pretty hard but he will go the extra length to make sure you succeed. Every lecture was better than the next. He led great discussions. Best class you will take.
If you take this class make sure to do the readings because half of each test/quiz will have questions that focus on them. Radler is fun and very intelligent make sure you don't miss a class. He is very approachable.
This was one of the more challenging classes I have taken in college but I felt like I learned a lot. He is a good instructor who really cares about his students.
Radler is da bomb...this guy makes econ a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish more teachers were like him. You can tell that he cares about his students and he loves his job.
Funny, smart, engaging and one of the kindest teachers you will ever find. Hard tests but if you pay attention and read you will do fine.
What a great teacher! I haven't had a teacher that engages the class and each student like this for some time. I do recommend this teacher. Though some of the subject material can be difficult, just keep with it and he is more than willing to help.
I agree with the previous comments. Andy is a great teacher who is there for his students. He tells great story's that help you understand the mateial. You can't miss class and the material can be hard, but if you take him you can't go wrong.
Andy is a great teacher, he makes class exciting. He is very clear about the information and you rarely have homework. If you attend class theres no reason you shouldn't pass.
A great teacher and a very caring teacher. He is always ready and you learn so much about how the world works. You have to keep up with the reading. You have weekly home work quizzes on Blackboard that you need to keep up with. Take him.
I had his last year for Macro and am now taking Andy for Micro. He is the kindest man who goes the extra mile to make class fun. You will learn so much and enjoy the experience.
Everyone one on here is crazy! This class was horrible. Not only is he extremely hard but also extremely unhelpful. He don't go over anything of relevance in class. Just expects you to read the book and now all the graphs. When asked a question hes takes days to get back to you and you have to remind him. AWFUL!
A teacher that cares and knows his subject. He takes the hardest concepts and makes them applicable to everyday life. I love this class.
I was expecting that I would not like economics. Mr. Radler is making everything that is going on in the news understandable. The class is well organized. I highly recommend him.
Excellent Teacher
All 5's (you will work hard and learn)
I just got done registering for Econ 2. I had him for Econ 4 and it was actually a very fun class. Attendance is not mandatory but you will be lost if you don't attend.
I initially thought this would be my most uninteresting class, but Intro to Economics turned out to be my favorite class. I took this class online, and found Andy Radler to be very communicative and encouraging online! I would highly recommend this class to experience a greater understanding of the economic world around us.
he sets up his class on quizzes so if your bad at quizes or tests you will fail. He doesnt care that you tried or did all the work. he will fail you if you dont score high on the quizzes. He didnt want to help get my grade up. Just expected me to fail. I dont suggest him at all unless you love to take quizzes and tests.
I have never had a teacher spend so much time during class and also on Blackboard being there for me. If you failed it was because you did not put the effort in. The online quizzes were a small part of the class. Most points were earned on the tests and in class quizzes which were straight from our notes.
Class consisted of very few in class assignments worth any points. Most in class exercises are for your own benefit and the problems from those worksheets are on the tests. There are also online assignments and quizzed which will kill your grade if you forget to do them. Three essays which are EASY A's. Tests are short answer plus multiple choice.
An excellent teacher. You have to go to class and take good notes.
The excitment of the professor towards economics makes the class be fun and enhances curiosity.
Great class, and absolutely great teacher. Makes the class very fun, and makes sure all the information is available. All tests and quizes cover material learned in class, so its all in your notes. If you don't get the material, just see him after class, and he'll work with you until you do. If you take Econ, I can't recommend Radler enough.
well other than macro econ being really hard as it is. andy is a fun teacher, with a great personality. He explains and gives great examples for everything. the class is tough. the quizes and tests are hard. u must study and read.
A great choice.
A cool prof. Knows his stuff and does his best to make sure you get it.
The other Michael Jordan of Butte College!...worth your money....
He's a really cool guy. His class is pretty hard, but if you apply yourself its not bad. Radler is really helpful and enthusiastic for econ.
If you need to take an economics class, get one taught by him! Best teacher I had this year. Explains the material very clearly and makes sure everyone understands it. His office door is always open and he holds optional study sessions outside of class before tests.
This class was difficult and demanding. Be prepared to be kept on your toes! I wouldn't ever want to take a class like that again, but Andy is one hell of a teacher and made it worth while. He is confident and full of knowledge. Hell of a guy!!!
Mr. Radler's Introdution to Economics was a great online class. The quizes and tests are simple if you pay attention to the lecture very carefully and take many notes. Homework assignments was fun, the online class was like Myspace which was interesting. I highly recomend to take Radler's Intro to Economics class if you have trouble with Economics
This was my favorite teacher because he doesn't make people to struggle with his exams beside multiply questions. He tells you pretty much 70% about exams which is helpful I think........ Wonderful, and nice teacher!!!!!!
Radler is a good teacher, helps a lot, and most of the test is based on in class notes. He does make coming to class mandatory seeing as randomly you do group things in class and receive points by being there. 2 papers, 4 tests, and 4 quizes. The class is simple if you pay attention, i gave it no time and never read the book and received a B.
Radler made you work for your grade. He did an excellent job laying out not only why a concept was important but also gave you excellent ways in learning how to apply the concept. If you don?t study you will be in trouble. Be prepared to set aside time to get a good grade.
Radler is an awesome teacher. He makes everything really easy to understand and actually gets your attention in class and makes you think. He's extremely intelligent and helpful. You definitely have to work for your grade in this class but it is very worth it. I would definitely recommend Radler for Econ!!
Mr. Radler is a great teacher!! The online quizzes are kinda hard but if you watch the power points for each chapter you'll be fine. The tests aren't hard, if u take good notes. Pretty much if u take good notes during class its pretty easy stuff
This is a difficult class. Andy explains the material well and is entertaining too. In class tests are based solely off of lecture notes and he tells you everything that is going to be on the test in advance. Online multiple choice chapter quizes are based from the book. Two essays, extra credit options, no late work accepted, attendence mandatory
A rock star. Excellent professor
Radler is awesome. He's super-helpful and hands-on, and always excited about the topic.
Radler is a great teacher! He really helps you understand the subject and he's funny. His classes are challenging but not too hard and he's always willing to help you. He uses blackboard a lot for quizzes. I would definitely take his class again!
THE.BEST.BUTTE.TEACHER.PERIOD!!! Very interesting lectures with examples from the news and real life situations. I made it just fine without the book, but internet is a MUST for this class. Mr. Radler is crystal clear about what will be on the test and what you need to do to pass. Great teacher...highly recommended!
Radler can make class interesting but when it comes to asking questions in class he seems to want to move on very quickly.
Andy is very clear with instructions, what's expected of you, well prepared, always organized and uses class time very effectively and efficiently. A great story teller and a very nice man.
Andy is super cool!!! He is laid back yet knows his own goals for the class and is very intelligent. He definitely knows how to challenge the class, but it is good! I felt like it was ACTUALLY college level. definitely take him if you get the chance
Interesting lectures, fair grading.
A challenging class. Andy is, by far, one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is helpful, he makes it easy to grasp the concepts and the material by using real life situations, and by this, it's enjoyable to attend class.
By far the best educator I have ever had, and I attended a top 100 national public school. He has no business teaching at community college and not at a UC, but I'm so thankful that I've gotten to take macro and micro econ with him. He is the most interesting, unbiased, and most professional professor I could ever ask for from a community college.
Best teacher I have taken ever!!! Also, most interesting class ever as well and he is very helpful and clear take this class with him and only him
GREAT PROFESSOR! By far the best!
He is a GREAT economist, not so good instructor though. He says he will help but when you ask for it he explains it to you so fast it's no help at all. Tests are on lectures making the textbook worth little. If you miss classes you can read the book, but it won't help you on half the test. If you must take don't miss a single class
Radler makes economics fun because he uses real life examples. He has provided some of the most interesting and informative lectures I’ve ever had. The best teacher I’ve ever had.
A really good teacher just make sure you do good on the online quizzes since there isn't many other things you turn in.
Radler is a great teacher! I couldnt get into his econ 4 class so I literally waited a semeter to take it with him in fall, because he is that great of a teacher! I would absolutely recommend him!
He is a great teacher. I had him for micro, he can really keep class interesting. He is one of those teachers that has such a passion for economics that it starts to rub off on you. Also, he's really funny! I definitely recommend him.
Great professor.
Great teacher, always comes to class with a good attitude and always teaches us something new and interesting. Very clear on standards, clearly states contact times/info. Has class study sessions prior to exams and also shows up on Sunday nights prior to midterms and final for review. Answers questions and is always available.
Great professor! He is very funny but attendance is mandatory. The only reason I got a C in the class is because I forgot to submit one of the online tests.
He is very knowledgeable about econ but sometimes he goes through the material too quickly and then acts like we should completely understand everything, making it a little awkward at times. Keep on top of the online quizzes! A difficult subject but a decent instructor. I would recommend his class.
Not at all friendly or helpful!
Always comes to class with a good attitude and always teaches us something new and interesting. I really enjoy the class.
You are an awesome teacher! I really enjoy this class and I am learning a lot.
I've heard good things about Radler and his econ classes, which is why I'm so disappointed with his summer online course. The free eBook he provided did not correlate well with the course videos. Worse, the online quizzes were not very well constructed. I'm sure that he's great in person; however, I don't recommend his online curriculum.
I really enjoyed taking the online course this summer. The chapter writing prompts were very interesting and he was very responsive to questions. The videos made the concepts easy to understand.
He really wants you to leave this class being able to talk simple economics and challenges you to actually learn it. The class is very well structured although fast paced. Great teacher who is a little witty and cares about his students learning the material.
I tried this class online with Price and had to drop. Radler's in person class is like kindergarten in comparison. He gives you notes and lectures and just wants you to memorize the information. Attendance is mandatory, and he will embarrass you in front of the class if you're not paying attention. Super easy class and animated professor.
If you take econ take it with Andy. He will help you understand the material. Econ in general is tough, but he makes it entertaining. His main goal is that his students learn and understanding the information.
I enjoyed Andy's class. He can be a little uptight at times, especially about being late, and cell phonelaptop use, but is a quality teacher. He knows a lot about economics, and has a great way of communicating the info to his students. He gives all the tools to succeed in his class. I'd recommend taking him.
Andy really wants you to pass his class. If you show up to class and pay attention it is almost impossible to fail. His lectures are entertaining and he tries to make everything relatable to things currently going on with the economy. He is always there to help and responds quickly. The only real way to fail this class is if you don't show up.
I enjoyed Andy's class! I'm not a huge fan of economics but he made the class interesting and fun. I learned a lot about this subject as well. His tests are hard but if you pay attention and show up everyday you will do good!
Amazing instructor! He is so clear what the test is about and will work with you first 5-10 mins of class to review everything. I took Econ 02 with him. Just be on time and pay attention and there you got an A in his class! Very inspirational. love all the short video clips he shows that helps you understand course.
I really enjoy Prof Radler. I took his Macroeconomics class (ECON002) in-person for Fall 2014, and both that and this online course were very well executed. He communicates the content and his expectations very clearly and goes above and beyond to assure his students grasp the material prior to testing. I highly recommend him!
I took ECON 2 online and I have to say it wasn't bad. His assignments were easy to understand and if you need help he was there to help. Each chapter consisted of a chapter reading, videos to watch(which I thought we were getting graded on, but in the end I didn't see it counted in my grades), 20 question quiz, and homework that required 500 words.
His lectures tend to be a little sporadic and kind of hard to take notes on so write down what he says because he doesn't always write information on the board. He doesn't stop to explain things so you do have to ask in class or go to office hours. He ALWAYS goes over test questions in advance. Homework is mostly quizzes and this ar all easy points
Had Andy for Micro last year and am taking Macro this semester. He is the yard stick of what an instructor should be. His lessons really relate to the material and connects with the class.
Andy knows what he's talking about and teaches Econ so well, definitely worth taking! but you do have to come to every class, or you'll miss a lot.
Andy RADler is honestly the best teacher at Butte/Chico. He's hilarious, assigns EASY papers, and really goes over everything prior to exams to make sure everyone gets it.
Radler is an amazing teacher. I went into the class thinking I would be extremely bored with economics but he makes it super interesting! He really tries to engage the class with discussions. He is really helpful in his OH and his tests are fairly easy since he does an extensive review beforehand
GREAT GREAT GREAT! He is completely clear about what he wants you to learn and what you will be tested on. No surprises. Textbook is free. Go to class, take notes, study and you have an easy A (the way it should be). He believes that a professor should make material clear and simple instead of trying to make the class burdensome and difficult.
Easy class and you learn a lot. Tells you what will be on the exams and gives partial credit. Didn't have to put in too much effort to get A's on each test. Enjoyable class, never makes you stare at the clock. Very little homework and you don't have to pay for a textbook. Would take his class again for fun.
Had a great time in his class. Andy makes his lectures engaging and not boring whatsoever. I took both of his micro and macro classes and can definitely say he's one of my favorite teachers. He makes economics fun and understandable and the amount of work he gives is reasonable. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
His lectures are very animated and engaging, and you won't be bored during his classes. He goes over almost everything that will be on the tests. He wants his students to pass, and will work with you if you work with him. He uses a free text book too which is awesome. FYI: you have to make sure you keep up to date with the online assignments too!
Andy's lectures are awesome, generally about interesting things that are related to economics, but you aren't required to remember. He makes it clear when you need to write something down (that will be on the test). He also gives you points some days just for showing up (usually when you do an in class fun activity), so make sure to show up!
I didn't know how to take Mr. Radler at first, but he soon became a favorite. He makes you think critically about economic policy, he teaches real-world skills and responses to situations, and he always makes sure you understand the material he is presenting by asking, "Are we all comfortable with this?" very often. He is also SO stinking funny! :)
I was worried about taking a economics class but professor Radler made it an enjoyable experience. I would recommend him to anyone who is not a economics or business major because he doesn't overwhelm you with hard concepts. If you do all the assignments and quizzes you are destined for an A.
Great professor, especially his lectures. Almost all the grades are tests but he gives a great study guide. Go to his study sessions.
Andy is AMAZING. His lectures are always interesting (I am not one for lectures). Attendance matters, rarely gives homework, everything is online, he gives 3 exams based off of the lecture notes (he tells you what to write & what not to for the exam). extremely helpful and makes class fun, he does have small group discussions. TAKE HIM.
Andy is awesome! I look forward to his class every time we meet. His lectures are hilarious and relates topics to everyday life so it makes sense. He goes over EVERYthing that will be on the major tests and all the online quizzes are open note, so as long as you show up and take notes you'll get an easy A in the class. Would high recommend Andy!
Attendance mandatory, class is exciting and engaging so might as well go. He uses powerpoints, group activities, scenarios, and real life examples. All homework is online except for 4 exams throughout the year which he gives you the answers. (all the answers to the quizzes are on quizlet) so it's impossible to fail this class. Never used textbook
Andy is a good teacher but can have his bad days. He gets really mad about phones or sleeping in class and can be a jerk. The good side is, there is no homework, if you come to class he gives you credit for all the assignments. 2 essays that he doesn't read and gives you credit for if you type something. Tests are very easy.
One of the best teachers I have ever taken taken. He cares about the students and is upfront on what is important to know for the tests and quizzes. He makes each class relevant by bringing in real world examples.
Great and interesting teacher. His class is never boring and it makes econ enjoyable. He is constantly relating his lectures to real life examples. His tests all all straightforward and if you go to class you will be fine.
It's hard to believe that I just took this class with the same professor that everyone on here raves about. I don't know if it's because this class was taken online but he's horrible. He takes a long time to grade and reply to emails. He's unhelpful. There's mistakes on his quizzes. Maybe he's just better in person. The class is easy though.
He's a funny guy and isn't afraid to get people out of their comfort zone, so beware if you're a shy person (i'd still recommend even if you are)! lots of in class group activities and try not to miss the lectures because you will definitely need the notes for his tests.
I took Radler in SU18. His course was 1 exam & 1 500 words essay paper on a topic he chooses. His CUMULATIVE EXAMS reflected on past exams questions. His online class is definitely easier than his in person, but I don't know if that was just for the SU18 that I got lucky. Exams are based on his lectures or so he says, but It wasn't really.
I took his online course in the summer, didnt really like him. His tests and quizzes always had errors and the materials did not apply at all to what we were tested on.
Every lecture that Radler presents to us never disappoints. He always includes material that makes economics a fun learning experience, which in turn makes going to class something that I look forward to every time. He made the class enjoyable and also had a good attitude on how to engage the class.
Really like Andy! Taking him next semester for ECON4. He does well explaining things. I highly recommend him!! If you study for the test, pay attention in class you'll pass with an essay A.
He is interesting and doesn't overload his students. He knows what material needs to be taught and makes it fun for us. He really helped this previous class out after the camp fire.. we appreciated that a lot.
Great entertaining lectures. Attend class, take notes, read material &quizzes and exams will be a breeze. Easy to work with (student-athletes) and great with communication. Enjoyed in class participation projects, gave a chance for the students to voice their own opinions, thoughts, concerns or perspectives on the matter. Would recommend to anyone.
Andy is probably the best professor I ever have at Butte. He's hilarious and understanding. Just study a bit and show up to class, you'll pass. Best lectures ever, you will never want to miss his class, I can't wait to take him again next semester!
It's an online course and the quizzes/mid-terms/exams will be remotely proctored. This means that you will be recorded using your webcam and mic in which you cannot use your notes, textbooks, or comp for help. It is absurd considering he expects us to watch a total of 2 hour videos and read a whole chapter just for a quiz. You will not memorize it.
His online course is absurd, there is a ton of video lectures per chapter as well as quite a bit of reading, the quizzes are proctored so you are expected to memorize everything. I cannot recommend his online courses to anyone.
Andy is the best teacher I have had in college. He gives great lectures and makes econ a blast to go to. Maybe the people that are going to the online class were expecting an easy A which economics is not.
I love Andy! He's so funny and nice. The best professor ever in Butte, you have to take him in person. I took him for Econ2 and Econ4, best decision ever.
I would not recommend this online class due to the fact that the professor uses proctorio which uses your webcam and mic for quizzes/exams. You will not be able to use notes, textbooks, etc. In addition, he makes us read chapters and watch many videos just for a quiz. Also, some of his quizzes are from the wrong chapters. 500 words per week as well
He is the funniest professor Ive ever had. Hes style of teaching is very unique. His lectures were amazing.
Mr Radler's classes are never boring. He's really funny, and yet time in his classes aren't wasted because you are still learning. He does a lot of group activities in-class (not projects) that include games. I've taken him online and in-class. I recommend taking him in-class.
I would not recommend this teacher, at least not online. He takes a really long time to get back to emails, and doesn't seem to care about his students. There are many video lectures and lots of reading. Some of the questions on the quizes don't even have right answers and some of the 500 word assignments are irreverent to the material.
He makes it really easy to understand, and used real life examples to approach students. The lectures are really effective in helping us understand the material
This is the 2nd online econ class I've taken with Radler. I hate econ but his class is very straightforward. One 500 word essay and 20 point quiz every week. There is a free online book and video lectures but I never bought the video lectures and still passed... Could've done better if I studied more. Quizzes require proctorio.
every lecture was very entertaining that the time passed really fast. I actually enjoyed the class
I took Andy for an online class and a face to face class that was converted when covid happened. Andy did a great job looking after our well being. This is a professor that truly cares about his students. I am sad that I did not get to finish the semester in class with him.
Mr. Radler really made it easy to understand econ. His lectures are awesome, from the stance that he really knows how to incorporate real life scenarios. You really grasp what he is trying to get across. I dislike econ, but I understand it enough thanks to him. I would retake his class for sure.
Andy- you are my favorite professor and will remember the remarkable presence you have as a teacher. Even after graduating (more then two years ago) I still remember this prof. He provided funny and relatable content to help students learn in class. Take his class, you wont regret it!! Andy wishing you nothing but the best. Thank you!
I took this professor for both micro and macro economics and he is amazing! You will always know what to expect each week for homework and the grading criteria is very clear. I would 100% recommended taking him for Econ. Also make sure to attend the weekly zooms they will help your grade A LOT!
Andy is a really good teacher when it comes to taking an online class, he doesn't bother you with too much work and the assignments are pretty basic. He assigns 1 short writing assignment a week, a 10 question quiz, and a discussion every week. If you just somewhat follow along with the class and do everything you will receive a good grade.
Andy is an awesome professor. He mixes humor and in-class participation together to make concepts stick. He never failed to make concepts simple and easy to understand. Show up to every zoom meeting, do your assignments, and you will get an easy A. Andy is a qualified, respectful, and funny guy. I would highly recommend Andy for ECON2 and ECON4.
Andy was the best instructors I have ever taken in college. He provided thought provoking lectures and had us engaged with the major concepts going on in the world. Hands down the best class i have taken.
A professor that loves and has fun with his job. He is incredibly knowledgeable and is able to each very well. I remember a lot from his class and was very glad that I took it.
Radler's econ classes have a light work load. He's really passionate about econ and grades very fairly. 100% recommend as you should easily get an A.
I loved taking his classes and would take them again if I could. He is very knowledgeable about economics and teaches things very straightforwardly. He does weekly 500-word responses and quizzes every couple of weeks and doesn't accept any late work. Just make sure you show up and take notes, and you will do fine!
Radler's econ class is a breeze. He's passionate and fair, with a light workload. Use Unstuck study and the free textbook - you'll get an easy A.
Overall this class was fairly easy. Do the homework, quizzes, and tests and you'll most likely get a good grade. Some of the quizzes were a little tough, but not too bad for the most part.
He was just great overall
Very nice, seems passionate about economics. Very structured class.
