I had to miss class several times and this was an intense course but the professor worked with me so I could make up the assignments even if not all of them were for full credit. She really helped me out and I was able to pass. I also like that she reviews a lot and gives PowerPoint presentations. I wish she could teach full time.

Im taking a summer class. Its a lot of work (5wks). The profesora does help a lot. Must do Vistas work to practice. Its worth 20% of your grade. La profesora cares that you learn and pass. Lots of practice in class. I highly recommend her. She shares powerpoints.

She gives good feedback and advice on how to study better. Sometime we get extra points for exams and quizzes. I will take this professor again for summer 2 for Spanish 2.

I really want to learn Spanish and I should have taken the long semester because it's a lot but this professor is helpful and practices with us a lot. We get all sorts of helpful handouts that we can use to study and Power Point presentations, etc. I am learning and I want to take this professor again but will probably wait for the regular semester

Lots of work in this class but then again this is a summer class. All the presentations and info. the professor gives helps a lot. There were extra pts for the 1st 2 exams and that was great because it gave us a boost. We do practice in class and do speaking exercises sometimes. I like this professor and hope to take all the other levels with her.

We practice in class a lot, which helps. I feel that I can write a little better in Spanish now. I took Spanish in high school so need to brush up.

There were times in which I felt like giving up because it is hard to have a full time job and go to school but the professor has inspired me to go on. She is always available if you need help. I highly recommend her. If you need help, all you have to do is ask.

I found this class easy. Sure, you have to do your part, but I enjoyed it and brushed up on the Spanish I had learned in high school. Head up, this professor is strict when it comes to deadlines. You can turn in stuff beforehand but not late. She won't take your work late, unless you have some documentation. She gives extra point opportunities.

One quiz per week but the lowest two are dropped. Tests are fairly easy because she reviews beforehand and lets you know what exactly will be on it. There are many opportunities for extra credit. Easygoing and very friendly professor overall, I'm glad i chose her this semester.

I love the way she teachs. She focuses on what is gonna be in the test, she has Spanish songs and movies, so you will feel you love the culture.

In my perspective i really enjoyed her class. She is really nice and comprehensive, she gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it. As long as you do your homework and study you should be fine. Easy A if you put your part in this class.

She's a pretty cool professor she gives 4 quizzes (and she drops your lowest quiz) which are in class. And you use a program called Vistas do all your homework. And they weigh alot on your grade and you have 5 exams and two presentations to give, and she gives alot of extra credit.

Ms Herrera made SPAN1411 a pleasant and easygoing experience. The textbook is no bargain, but it was more than adequately used. There are online homework assignments due every few weeks. Reviews are given for all exams and quizzes, and extra credit is given more than frequently. Above all, she is incredibly kind. I would highly recommend!

Professor Herrera is so amazing!!! She is very helpful and very flexible with her time. She wants you to understand the material and is willing to help. She gives extra credit. Class is not that hard. She has the reviews for the big exam online and does a small review before the quizzes in class.

Lenient on grading. Works with you. Coursework is not too difficult but fast paced(during the summer). She does a great job teaching the content and making sure everything expected of you is clearly stated

In this class, you have to do a lot of homework and online assignments. They do take up a bit of time but they help you learn and retain the information. With effort, you can easily make an A in the class. If you do not show up for class or do not do the online assignments then you will not get a good grade. BTW she does give a good amount of EC!!!

would definitely take this class again. fast paced but expected in a summer course but also not a bad thing because this helps you learn the language quickly so you can get a decent grade. very repetitive lessons which also helps you learn the material. the professor always sure everyone understands the lesson and welcomes questions.

If you want an A, you must participate and attend the class every time! The syllabus provides an organized course calendar, which helped me plan out the assignments tremendously. The online assignments provided with the textbook may be excessive, but they are 25% of your overall grade so don't wait until last minute to do them!

Great teacher, her method just wasn't the best approach for me to learn. I struggled when words were being introduced for the first time without prior being introduced to and practiced on, but sometimes still showed up on assignments that are graded.

Communicates material very well and make the class easy to do well in if you put in the effort.

Took her for the Wintermester and she is great! The wintermester class grades are composed of mainly movie reviews, presentations and tests. She goes over on what will be on each test. Presentations are simple and fast and not at all hard. I enjoyed taking her. Really recommend!!

Though attendance was not "mandatory", you do get graded on participation during class. So, it pays to be in class and participating. She also gives good feedback on presentations and written assignments. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and learned a lot in the process. If you put in the effort, you'll do fine.

The wintermester class had long and few class meets, but the professor helped time pass with movies and film reviews at the end of class.

The class is mostly presentations and tests. There are several one page essays, and the essays are based off of movies. Neither the essays nor the presentations are unusually hard. The tests are difficult but you can make up for them on the projects.

Mrs Herrera's class was not hard at all. As long as you do your work you should be fine. I took an 8 week online class and I did not feel over whelmed at all. I made a high B only because i didn't do the Supersites in there entirety, but that was because i over loaded my schedule with enrolling myself full-time in another school. I recommend her!!

I enjoyed taking her class. Majority of the course is on Visitas which I did not mind. You are given unlimited attempts on majority of the activities. Some assignments are on Canvas, but she will let you know and she also sends reminders weekly. She gives you plenty of time to finish each chapter that is due.

I highly recommend this class as there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. All of the assignments were extremely easy, the only things to watch out for are the proctored midterm and final exam. But there is enough extra credit that anyone could easily get an A.

This has been the most easily course I've ever taken! The assignments were hosted on VHL Central for me, and they turned out to be straightforward and uncomplicated. None of the assignments were posted on Canvas; there were only a few discussions and the final exam. All in all, this course practically guarantees an effortless A grade!
