Nice lady, i gave up on her class towards the end and somehow still managed to pass.
Lab is easy. As long as you do the lab reports theres no reason you cannot make a B. Minimal effort to make an A. The best part is you dont have to stay the whole lab time if your finished with the experiment.
Had two confrontations with her one of which was my fault however after discussing the situations with her we realized that our differences could be resolved and she held no bias against my grade. Nice lady despite those two instances. An Easy A.
Very intelligent and nice. Gives lots of test and non-graded homework (good) but difficult to understand if you can't get past that every other word is "uh".
good!!!
Dr. Aneta Koynova is a good professor explains material well despite her accent which can make things more complicated than they actually seem at times. The other big thing that helps is that she gives about 6 exams. It helps for making up bombed exams!
She is a great teacher. She will help students out and makes sure that you understand the material. There is plenty of opportunity for extra points to help your final grade. She is very cool!
Great teacher, but it is very hard to focus in lecture because you are spending too much time trying to decipher each word that come out of her mouth. Tests are easy.
A VERY SMART AND HELPFUL TEACHER, STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE. WILL GO OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP.
Class is pointless. Can't understand anything she says.If you don't want to learn anything but get credit, then take her. If you need this class to prepare you for the GRE, MCAT, DCAT, whatever, then this is not the teacher to take b/c you won't learn anything from her! You have to teach yourself.
Dumb class. Didn't learn anything from her.Had to study on my own and teach myself everything (which i hate b/c i'm paying tuition to be taught) You can't understand a word she says. Wouldn't take her again
She has a thick accent. The labs are extremely easy and you should ace all of them because she pretty much tells you how to do them. However, beware of her final exam. It's pretty hard for a exam that's given in a lab.
One of the nicest teachers i've met. Extremely helpful. Explains how to do labs, study for final exam. No reason you shouldn't get higher than a B in her class.
Hard to understand, however she is the nicest teacher ever. She will help you along the way the whole time, she is a very very good teacher. Tests and quizzes are pretty easy. Definitely take her for the labs
so its true what they say, she is the nicest person ever, she is just very hard to understand and she moves really fast, tests aren't so bad you can pull and 80ish if you study the sample test and go to si
very very nice teacher, has a thick accent but it'd not too difficult to understand. the tests are relatively easy and she'll give extra quizzes if the class fails beyond miserably. really knows the material...i'd definitely reccomend her class :)
Great teacher, very approachable, and genuinely concerned for students. She uses a tablet PC to write her nots on and posts on WebCT. Tests are very fair and she drops the lowest one. By the way, HER ACCENT IS VERY EASY TO GET USED TO! Y'all whine to friek'n much...
She is extremly nice but she rushes through the lectures. I had to study on my own because I could not understand her. If you really need to learn the material don't take her.
I love Prof Koynova! She is so sweet, and really cares about her students. Like most classes, it requires outside studying, but I still had an A in her class, and I hate physics. Just keep up on the homework, and show up to class (it really helps!) She also drops the lowest test grade!
class isn't too hard if you don't really wanna learn...just do the sample test and go on review day..she is super nice but super hard to understand cuz of the russian accent...overall not a bad class just not too interesting...come on...its physics
Heavy accent, but not difficult to understand. Good at explaining concepts. Keeps great lecture notes online in case you miss a class. Can be absent minded (have gotten incorrect formulae on formula sheet for test before).
She is a VERY nice lady but I don't think she is a very great professor. If you are willing to study on your own, or go to her for help then you should get an A or B. Her class can get really boring and her tests are pretty hard. If I had to select another professor, I would.
I've never met a more dedicated teacher. She is truely a gem. I am a horrible Physics student and often missed class but somehow with her help, I pulled a out a strong C. So for anyone who wants an A or B it's simple: do all of the homework, go the reviews, and dont skip class. You should do fine.
This class is tough all on its on. I thought her accent was tough to understand most of the time all though I now understand that she is probably the best person to take this class with because she will try work with you and help you understand the material.
This class is exremely hard because she doesnt give the class enough time to take the tests. Shes an alright professor but I'd take it with someone else.
She is an awesome teacher. She is hard to understand, but just listen and pay attention and you will be fine. Take her if you want to learn. If you make friends with her she helps you throughout the semester! Awesome! Hard class, but came out with a B. Takes some work, but its not that bad
She is great, class can be tough, but do your homework and read up on your notes you can pass, she goes through her lectures kinda fast, and you only have like 45 mins to take the test so make sure you know what you are doing so u can do well.
The class will seem impossible at first but if you are willing to work hard and not miss class you will do well. Go to her with any questions, she is very eager to help!! Physics is just a HARD subject!!! I would recommend Dr. Koynoiva over any other teacher!
Prof Koynova is the best, I hated physics in high school, but she made it easy to understand and she is always eager to help. She explains things the best she can, and is reasonable with her expectations. I would recommend her to anyone!!
she's a sweet lady. doing homework was the best help. sucks that she doesnt curve tests b/c our class averages were in the 50's-60's/ Go to the TRC and make sure to talk to/get to know her so she knows you are trying. If there is an SI go to the sessions. they are a big help. All notes are posted on the web CT. Exams arent bad if u go to class.
SHE RUINED ME..i really DISLIKE HER.her accent is bad and she goes through the info fast.you spend HR 15mins in classand have to go home and READ ALL AGAIN. its waste of time going to class. She gets offended when students stop coming to class and makes the test harder! I want to know where my physics 1 teacher dissappeared to! COME BACK Mr. CHANG!
phy 1&2 She is a nice lady-very approachable. She does have some problems understanding the way things are said (sentence structure). It seems like the class wouldn't be difficult, but when it comes time to taking the tests-some questions are confusing, especially conceptual questions. Good luck if you take her. Some lover her, others hate her.
Dr. Koynova is VERY willing to help, esp. if you bring her specific questions. She goes out of her way to give you chanceS to earn enough pnts to get an A (giving online hw and tests allowing you to gain more than 100 pnts). She's also generous w/bonus points. If you do the sugg. problems at end of chapters, you will have an easy time on her test.
Her lab is so easy! You take a short quiz over the material that you will see that day, so study the lab before hand. Otherwise, just make sure to enclude ALL your units in your equations and answer ALL the questions in the lab, and you can make an A easily. If you're unsure about something, just ask, and she will tell you explicitly what to do.
She's the easiest teacher you could ever have for phy 2. For our exams, we get a total of 160pts (80 multiple choice, 80 calculations), and its out of a 100. Dats like 60pts extra credit. You cant go wrong with that..well, xcept your dumb. All you have to do, is go to lecture (helps alot), and do the assigned problems after each chapter. Easy A.
She's a horrible teacher & her on-line hw sucks a$$, she withholds all the f@cking answers so u end up w/ zeros on all the hw w/o accomplishing a damn thing. she's from Bulgaria so u can't understand anything she says in class. don't under any circumstances take her AT ALL FOR ANYTHING!
Good professor. It was easy to get used to her accent and speech pattern. She goes out of her way to help you. Had extra review classes, available anytime. Do the online HW for 25% of grade Review for the test and work problems and you will pass. Good class!!
Easy. Do all your labs downtown with her. It maybe a longer drive but you get done quicker because the equipment is better DT. She's not always easy to understand but she's a great teacher and shows you what you need to do. Love her!
Im reading on here that she is an easy teacher, but I dont see it. She only has 3 test that make up your whole grade. No Hw collected and no real option for ex. credit, and test are hard! She shows up to class late then, starts teachin, i think she is a hard teacher.
Do not take anyone else!!! She is the best and she is so helpful and nice. She explains very well and her tests are fair, there is no curving but you can get up to a 110 or 115 on exams, you can get an A but you need to study!! Physics is not easy, take anyone else and you will be doomed!
hard class overall. she knows her stuff but the si is better at teaching. she goes a lil too fast and expects a lot from you. but can be helpful during office hours. she said test ave is a 60, thats good to her. NO CURVES! just 3 tests and thats your grade. if you know the stuff good.. you can make over a 100. but for those who dont..good luck
I HIGHLY recommend this teacher! The course is difficult no matter who you take but she makes it MUCH easier. She gives bonus points for answering questions in class, doing presentations, and puts extra questions on the test so you can miss 2 or 3 and still make a 100. She is difficult to understand but is more than happy to help you if you need it
I loved her!! Attendence is mandantory although not taken and keeping up with hmwk is a must! If you expect to find a physics course that doesn't require you to keep up with the work you are out of your mind. She makes its real easy so long as you pay attention in class. Gives unlimited extra credit chances so if you fail its cause you're lazy.
Nice older lady. Her teaching approach could be worse(pretty boring though), but at least all notes taken in class are on webct daily and she has a good review for exams. Don't count on a curve or extra credit though. Unless you wanna do a powerpoint presentation in front of class for ten measly test points. Eh-
if you don't do the homework, and don't do the extra credit, and don't ask questions, you deserve to fail. She is the best, physics teacher. Yes, she has a thick accent, but she knows her stuff. I wouldn't take any one else!
great prof
Super great teacher. She is hard and expects a lot, but you WILL learn. Be prepared to spend at least 4 hours or so outside of class each week doing homework and reviewing the lecture. She posts lectures online too (very helpful)
Easy class. If you can make it through OrganicChem1&2 here at UTSA,then this class should be a breeze.I haven't read the book the entire semester and have an "A" so far.She gives 3exams,each worth 25%, and online homework is worth 25%.Final is not comprehensive, just covers last few chapters. All notes posted to WEBct.What more can you ask for?
She went out of her way to make sure everyone did well. Exams are straightforward (no tricks) and easy if you spend time learning the physics. Very organized and on top of things.
physics is hard, but koynova is the best. she offers endless extra credit and is a very sincere person in general. you must do the homework to do well on the tests. final is not comprehensive luckily!
She is awesome!! I took this class over the summer and she was always willing to help. The tests weren't that bad as long as you did the homework and practice problems. Even if you didn't do well she gave everyone an opportunity to do extra credit. Easiest phys prof
accent is thick but tests are super easy if you get the review... takes the average of all the homework assignments for the grade
She gives lots of extra credit, curves the tests grades. 25% of your grade is based on the homework. The tests are multiple choice and none are comprehensive.
I had her for my Phy I lab. I loved her. It was a little hard to understand her while she gave a quick lecture, but if you asked her to clarify she was more than happy to. She loves participation and she won't stop asking a question until someone tries to answer it. I felt prepared for the lab final. She is very nice and sweet
Dr. Koynova is a wonderful professor. She is willing to help all her students and encourages them to get help from her during office hours. She also gives alot of extra credit oppurtunities and extra points for class participation.
Cute lady, always had a smile on her face. She knows her stuff. Webassign homework is a must, stay on track with it. Pays off big time for tests if you don't slack on them and learn to solve them. Go to her office hrs if you have Q's. Offers extra credit opportunities. I'd recommend her.
Prof Koynova is a nice lady who does her best to teach what can be a confusing subject. Grades are HW 20%, Exams (25%*2), non-cumm Final (25%), Project (5%), +xtra credit for participation. If you do the HW, attend the review sessions, and do the practice exam then test aren't too hard. :)
Dr. koynova is a great professor. she is very patient and is willing to help her students. Exams are not to bad if you do the homework and attend her review sessions and her Final is not Cummulative.
She seems like a nice lady but boy will she have you fooled...lots of work in her class and her accent is hard to understand...dont take her unless its a must...because most likely half the class will be retaking her or physics 1 again...gives a small extra credit opportunity but doesnt nessasarily help your grade...not as understanding as i though
She is absolutely amazing! I was not good at physics at all, but all I did was attend class and do a lot of practice problems and I received a 95 on the final and an A in the class. She makes understanding physics possible. She is extremely helpful and a wonderful professor.
TAKE HER TAKE HER!!!!!! most amazing professor... Easy to understand gives extra credit, gives you all the equations, and her exams come straight from her notes. If you made anything lower than a B you should not be in college. She is there to help you... AAAAA+++++++
Dr. Koynova is a nice lady and a pretty good professor who was a little difficult to understand due to her accent. People claim she is an easy professor but her exams were difficult. She gives partial credit if you show your work on exams and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. In that sense I guess she can be considered somewhat easy.
I find physics interesting but difficult to learn in this class. 2nd time was a charm for me. Koynova really knows her stuff and it shows. At times I was so lost I just sat back and waited for the next problem. Accent and speed of the lecture was my limitation. Going to SI sessions, doing extra credit, and working with other students helped.
Dr. Koynova is a nice lady and she gives a couple of opportunities for extra credit. Although she knows the material very well, she doesn't know how to get through to her students. The lectures are boring, her accent is strong, and she goes through the examples very quickly. The exams are brutal & the homework requires a lot of your time.
Love this prof. Don't buy the hardcopy book because online HW comes with it. HW is difficult but you get a lot of tries & there's so much extra credit available to you. exams are only hard because of the time constraint (50 min). DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS! go to her review session, try to memorize formulas, Go to her office & she will give extra credit
Try your best not to take her! She races through her lectures and her accent is rough so you REALLY have to pay attention to understand her. Her hw is mandatory and hard. Her tests are fairly hard too even with review and almost cant take even in the 1hr 15min time frame
She is Such a nice and approachable person. Her class is not that difficult. Homework is 30% of your final grade so DO NOT BLOW IT OFF. She knows who does and does not come to class. Just do the homework and study her notes and the HOMEWORK and im sure you can make an A. DO NOT blow off the homework.
One of the best professors at UTSA. She helps you as much as possible. Lectures and notes are concise and easy to follow. If you do the homework problems, attend class, and spend time to understand the concepts, you will get an A.
I took Physics 2 with Koynova in Fall 2013. As long as you go to class, understand the homework, and do the test reviews you will get an A in the class. Make sure you go to her office hours if you have any questions, she is very helpful. You don't need to buy the textbook. She's a great professor!
Won't use book at all. Do the homework, she adds extra credit to it. Exams are straight from homework. Very helpful & will even help with homework problems if you ask. She gives out extra credit so answer her questions during class.
Professor Koynova is SO NICE. Tries her best to make the class as easy as possible. Tests are based off homework and review. Go to her office hour and she will give you extra credit on tests for attempting the problem. DO THE HOMEWORK IT MATTERS. DEF WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN.
Don't expect to pass by just showing up. Her passion for Physics is apparent and she does her best to explain the material. She is available during office hours and willing to stay after if you have questions. There is extra credit offered which definitely helped. Do the homework and pay attention in class (that's were the exam material is from)!
She's the best Physics professor at UTSA. She explains concepts really well. If you go to her office hours, she will answer any questions you have. The exams are based off of the online homework and the lecture notes. The final exam is not cumulative. And she gives extra credit as well.
This class is the definition of easy A. If you can plug numbers into a formula, you'll do well. The accent was hard to follow at first, but not after a few lectures. She's interesting and the content is easy enough. If you need Physics for biology majors, this one is for you!
Very helpful and gives a lot of extra credit
Dr. Koynova is amazing. She will plan for test prep the day before tests, spending an extra HOUR with you to practice. Literally, only understand the HW problems and you will get an A. Got a 101 in Physics 2.
If you are a decent student you're guaranteed an A in the course. She has a thick accent but you get used to it in 1 day. Shes so sweet and cares about her students. A lot of homework but all the homework she assigns is great practice for her exams since they are very similar. Do your part and you'll have an A. Wonderful professor
Test qs are very similar to the online hw (web assign). Spends too much time "breaking down" formulas when all you really have to do is just plug n' chug. Hw is not bad and is doable. Xtra credit via class participation, turning in online hw early, and giving 5-10 min presentations. No i clickers, no book, can use graphing calculators. Nice lady.
This teacher only has 3 tests in her class, and the material is all from the homework, do not focus on her practice tests, they are too easy for what the actual test ends up being. Her lectures go in circles and she takes a very long time to teach one problem to solve.
she is very nice. what i loved was that she gave extra points on tests if you went to her office hours. that saved my grade. hw is online which also helps with the grade. i personally hate physics, but i managed to get a B with her helpfulness. strong accent but once you get used to it, id recommend her.
If you want to pass physics, take her!! She is a little tough to understand, but the way she grades is essential to passing. There are 3 tests. She gives partial credit on exams, so work out the problems on the test!! HW grade is weighted the same as each test and those are easy A's. There is even more extra credit that can ass 12 points to a test!
Great professor! Has a Bulgarian accent so beware. She gives a lot of extra credit. Gives partial credit on exams. Only three exams. Posts he notes which are extremely helpful. Homework is hard, but if you finish before the due date you get extra credit. If you participate in class you get extra credit. Copies and pastes homework questions for exam
Awesome professor and sweetest person around. Physics is tough for me but she does a great job of making it understandable and I found her lectures very easy to follow - her notes are better than the textbook. Tests are similar to your homework so work hard there. She is very helpful in her office hours and holds study sessions before tests.
If you know basic physics definitely take her!! She offers a lot of extra credit if you participate in class and such. Tests are same problems from the homework or the reviews so you can just study those and make a good grade! Definitely, recommend her she helped with so many homework problems that I was stuck on, you just gotta go and talk to her!
Really good and caring professor. She works with you, and is very understanding. She does break down every formula, but she makes sure everyone gets Physics due to it being a tough course. She has a lot of extra credit which helps a lot. Tests are similar to the web assign homework, so if you do that and study you should be fine.
She's an absolute sweetheart. Very caring and wants you to do well. Can sometimes go through the material quickly but is always available outside of class if you need help. 3 MC exams, ExtraCred quizzes, and HW is critical bc its where she gets her exam Qs from AND it counts as a test grade. Her accent isn't too bad and she can be pretty funny.
I really like Koynova. You can tell she really cares and provides extra-credit and opportunities to do well. She presents all the information needed and her tests are almost verbatim from the HW and lectures. I did well all semester but bombed my final and ended up with a C. I get test anxiety but an A is completely possible if you try.
IDK how anyone can rate this woman badly. She's the cutest and really cares about her students. Any homework completed 24 hours before the due date is extra credit, and the test questions are straight off the homework. & if that is not enough, she also hosts study sessions & "pop" quizzes that only count as extra credit and won't count against you.
She's honestly such a sweet lady. I really did like her and her class. Pay attention to her lectures, do the homework, learn the techniques to solving the problems like she does and there's no way you can't make an A. She also offers extra credit in quizzes, and she does iclickers as well that help you. Would definitely take her again.
Professor Koynova is one of the nicest, sweetest professors ever. Physics is difficult within itself, but she posts the notes and makes it easier to understand. Do ALL of the homework, and use the homework + notes in class to study for exams. She also gives out a quiz for extra credit points towards your test score throughout the semester.
Physics was not easy for me by any means. Koynova helped me pass and was always available after class and even schedule 2-3 study sessions on her own time before tests. Only 3 exams including final and homework that counts as 25% of grade. Do homework! It will save your grade if you bomb a test like I did.
Dr. Koynova is the absolute sweetest. She really cares about her students, and is always available outside of class. She wants her students to do well and puts in a lot of effort, even organizing extra review lectures. Take her class if you're lucky enough to get a slot, since everyone wants to be in her class. You will love her!
Professor Koynova is one of the better physics teachers. She is really caring and offers ec with hw and iclicker. She takes her time and solves multiple problems during her lectures. She takes time to hold extra review classes. Her tests are mostly the hw and iclicker q's. Don't miss a chance to take her, you'll regret it.
She's a wonderful professor. Physics 2 is very complex and important for pre-med students. You take notes for every class. She takes attendance so you MUST come to class. It's still difficult but she's available for office hours.
Okay, look with Professor Koynova all of her Exams questions are based on the Chegg Hw assignments which are assigned via Web-Assign. If you review the homework every day you will make an A in her class. However, the key is to Review and actually know the material which is something a lot of students fail to do!
Professor Koynova is a really kinda woman but its hard to retain the material she teaches in class. I found myself having to teach myself physics on my own time. The tests are questions from the homework and from in class, but some formulas to be used on the test are kinda pulled out of nowhere.
Very personable but the tests are not like the reviews given in class. Only grades on 3 tests, homework, and class participation.
She has a very heavy Bulgarian accent which makes it hard to understand her lectures. I had to re teach myself the content after class. There is a lot of complex homework but she goes over it. The tests are exactly like the HW and I clicker questions. if you study and understand the HW you should be fine. go to class for extra credit
Koynova is very sweet and is awesome for giving EC. She thoroughly works out problems, but she keeps an iclicker question ready for the end of class, which, she will sometimes keep you waiting for after class time is up.
Make sure to do all the homework and study them for tests. As long as you do that, you should do well. Definitely not an easy A though. If you have perfect attendance, you have the opportunity to get up to 5 EC points on your overall average. She is a little hard to understand, she has a thick Bulgarian accent.
Do not take this class in 5.5 weeks (summer) unless you will dedicate to this class, sleep, eat and study. It is a lot, homework is heavy and it's due every weekend, total of 5 homeworks. Be ready to participate in class, it counts towards final grade. Professor Koynova is a great professor, I will take care again if I could.
Professor Koynova is wonderful! Physics is hard, especially as a 5 week course, but she very much cares both about her students passing and genuinely understanding the material! Very kind teacher and makes herself available for help during office hours! Gives lots of extra credit opportunities, but be sure to show up to class!
Don't take her!
