She is a very good teacher, sometimes a little hard to understand. She teaches in a way that you can understand economics. As long as you go to class you will do fine. Just need to study the note packets she gives you in class for the tests. She will also answer all of your questions and explain something to you until you understand.
Enjoyed the class tho it was challenging !
Good at explaining and her quizzes are easy. A lot of them are open notes or group quizzes. Her midterm is take home so it's pretty easy to get an A. Would recommend her, you will actually learn something and she isn't a tough grader.
Excellent teacher makes the class interesting and fun to learn. Cares about the student's learning and goes the extra mile to help !
She wasn't very clear with her teaching and sometimes it seemed like she didn't know what she was talking about. She gives out packets with notes and problems though, and you can use those on quizzes. Also, quizzes usually have an extra credit question or two. Overall, the material isn't too tough. The only bad thing is that the book costs a ton.
Excellet teacher ! Enjoyed learning economics relating to current news articles! Good class and would recommend her !
Enjoyed leaning Economics as it was related to the real world. Exams were hard bu the homework and in class assignments helped me get a decent grade!Yes ! would recommend this teacher !
WORST TEACHER EVER SHE HAS A BAD ACCENT SHE ALWAYS MAKES MISTAKES SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT DON'T TAKE HER
She really isn't that bad of a teacher. She tries to make sure everybody gets it. She doesn't use the textbook all that much so i advise going through the chapters to get more out of it. Overall the class is pretty easy, i'd suggest taking her for it. P.s. quiz we just took ended up being open book because we complained :), she gives in sometimes.
The teacher was very clear, helpful and made the class interesting. I would highly rcommend this Mrs Dsilva
Enjoyed leaninig econ with this teacher as it was related to current economic news. Exams were hard but the hand outs and in class assigmnets and notes really helped me. The teacher is fair and impartial and seems to be really interested in the success of the students. Just follow the instructions you can walk out with a decent grade.
Got an A in the class. Easy class. Put effort, and make sure she sees ur effort, and you'll get an A. Yes, theres a quiz every week maybe exam too. But she doesn't really take these quizzes into consideration at the end. Its more of "How hard did they try throughout the semester?"
DSilva was a good teacher. Very helpful...as long as you try in her class shell make an effort to help you. Material was easy for the most part but did get confusing....However, the class was pretty easy. Got an A!
The class is hard but dsilva made it interesting and fun to learn all the hard graphs with hands on learning with real world examples. She really cares for the students learning and success. Makes absolutely sure everbody understands before moving on . As long as u do the homework and come to class u should get an A or a B. I recommend this teacher
Tough class, need to really work your !!!! The teacher does her best but your grade depends on self motivation and real hard work, other wise do not take this class.
SHE HAS A LANGUAGE BARRIER SO U WILL NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE IS SAYING HALF THE TIME THIS CLASS IS NOT A BLOW OFF CLASS U HAVE TO TRY REALLY HARD SHE IS WEIRD I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CLASS TO ANYONE
A good teacher.
EASY! SHE'S A LITTLE BORING, BUT DRINK RED BULL OR MONSTER BEFORE THE CLASS AND YOU'LL BE FINE. EARN AN EASY A. TAKE HER FOR EASY GRADE.
quizes alot but overall the class is easy if you attend
BE ATTENTIVE JUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK,STUDY FROM THE CLASS NOTES, REVIEW WORK SHEETS,DO YOUR GROUP WORK,QUIZZES AND WALK OUT OF THIS CLASS WITH A B. TEACHER IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL IF YOU ARE DOING BAD.
JUST STUDY FROM THE CLASS NOTES AND THE REVIEW BEFORE THE QUIZZES AND EXAMS. SHE MAKES A DIFFICULT SUBJECT TRULY EASY. I RECOMMEND HER CLASS. IGOT A HIGH B.
Took her last semester. She's a great teacher. Actually got me interested in Economics. Study for the tests/quizzes, pay attention in class, and do the homework. Easy A.
Super easy... Very boring and you dont get out early but its so easy that its worth it. I had a 102 percent the whole semester and I never did work outside the class
Easy class. But way too many speeches about life and about sleeping (you'll see what i mean). Lots of quizes. Don't expect to get out early. boring class!
i Loved her! shes a great teacher! her quizzes are the easiest thing ever just listen to her review before she gives them out. i had her for 3 weeks in the summer and she ALWAYS let us out 30 mins early and shes ALWAYS wanting to help you. shes great. if u want an easy A TAKE HER!
She is a good teacher, but is Indian, so is a little hard to understand. If you attend class and do the work, you should get an A or B. She understands this stuff and we as students should too!
D'SILVA IS THE BEST ECON. TEACHER EVER~!! VERY EASY AND HELPFULL. IF YOU WANT AN EASY A YOU SHOULD TAKE HER. LISTEN TO HER REVIEWS AFTER QUIZES AND YOU SHOULD GET 100% ON IT. SHE ALSO GIVES OUT EXTRA CREDIT POINTS.
Overall cool. Pay close attention to the pre-quiz lecture and you will do fine.
clarity for me was iffy
tough on attendance, else its easy if you study
Best Professor I ever had. Most quizes are easy w/ extra credit. Not too many tests. She's also very smart and nice.
Lectures, presentations, videos, group discussions are the format of this class.I really enjoyed the class. I took econ102 and got a B.The class is hard and you really need to work hard.Follow all the insturctions and you should be Ok.
i really need help i need to raise my gpa but i need this class i dont mind if the class is hard worrk i jst want to knw do u have presentations and how many test does she have?
Easy homework grading, decent test questions. She has an accent, but its not hard to understand. She is better the McWoodson, Davis or the other economics teachers.
She really isnt that bad, if you go to class, do all the assignments you are bound to get at least a B. I took her for macro and signed up for her micro, from what I hear she is the best of the bunch
her class is so boring, shes unclear a lot on the material and forgets assignment due dates. I would have to say she is fairly easy but you really have to show up because every day you are doing something worth points.
Very awesome teacher, the final isnt that hard as she claims it to be, i got a 89 on it and i didnt really work that hard.. ha
Not a very good teacher. Not helpful. Kicked me out of class for no reason and yelled at me. She knows her economics but is kind of an airhead about other subjects. Not organized. I dread going to her class every morning.
Class is interesting and not too much work assigned. Gives a lot of quizzes, but if you keep up with the reading, no reason why you can't get an A. Would recommend taking her course.
She is a nice lady.. but the class is so boring. Lots of chaper outlines that you have to fill out.. the quizzes and tests tend to be pretty difficult. either you know your stuff or you dont. shes not that clear either. but she is a sweet lady. never rude.
The class is hard you got to work hard do all the assignments. I got a B in this class. Only if you can work hard I recommend this class. But you do learn a lot. The teacher is very helpful gives extra credit. which helps.
The class is fairly easy. If you try, you should end up with an A or B. Quizzes arent too hard, just look over your notes. Not much out of class work is assigned. & you have to give a very easy presentation at the end of the semester. She is a nive lady & will try to help you. there are also some extra credit opportunities.
I would recommend this class only if you can work hard and do your homework. If you are aiming for an easy A forget this class.I learned lot and ended up with a B+.
Wonderful person and can be very patient with students that need it. And she is a much better teacher than the other two Econ teachers. Avoid McWilson.
One of the worst teachers I've had. I can tell that she is a sweet lady, but she is so unorganized and unclear about a lot. Messed up the tests and said that problems we got right but were graded as wrong were no big deal. She's mostly just frustrating.
One project relating to real life at the end of the semester. Kind lady. A bit of an Indian accent but understandable. And as for the person who thought she was an Arab...no wonder why you failed because you can't tell the difference between an Arab and a Desi. Try speaking up in class. Discussions keep you awake. I recommend D'Silva! I got an A!
There is real learning taking place in the class, those who want to take it easy please avoid this class find someone else.I got a B+ in both classes. Helped me prepare for the reality of the real world work! Keep it up!
Very easy teacher. Just do yuor work , read and you will get an A. no excuses..
As a person, you can tell she is nice. As a teacher, she doesn't meet up to my expectations. She's hard to understand, and does not explain things clearly. Notes are all over the place and unorganized. I'd recommend not taking her, unless you're up for a challenge.
She is a fair teacher and the quizes are pretty predictable. Not too much homework. Lectures cn sometimes be boring but definetly something will be earned. Not really hard to get a B or a C!!!
She is a fair teacher and the quizes are pretty predictable. Not too much homework. Lectures can sometimes be boring but definetly something will be earned. Not really hard to get a B or a C!!! I would recommend her if you like to apply yourself a little
If you are lazy stay from this class. Just do your homework and study from the notes.Learn a lot from the class discussions. The teacher is helpful if you are struggling.
Ms. D'silva isn't my favourite professor, but she is ok. She keeps you busy with quizes, tests, and homeworks, but as soon as you read the chapter and study the notes, you will get a B. However, sometimes you will get surprised by some questions on the quiz or test because they were not mentioned in the book or handout...
Take this class only if you want to learn Microeconomics. Lots of quizzes and closed book exams. You have to study to be able to pass this course. Handouts and worksheets really help you to do well in the quizzes and exams. Great Class!
Sometimes hard to understand. She gives a quiz on every chapter you discuss, and the questions seem confusing. You really need to learn the material she teaches. Exams aren't bad. If you do the work, you'll get a good grade. A few projects that sucked, and she singles people out a lot for answers, etc. ive had better teachers
I like her. I've learned the material in my home country, so the class was so essay for me. If I didn't learn it before, she may make me confused sometimes. She jumps so fast. Handouts are helpful! Quzies on every chapter, not much homework and few extra works. She always gives extra credit on quizes and tests. She may give you answer sometimes!
She is really nice teacher. I liked her. I don't like economics, but the class was fun. Be ready to study, cause that's what she wants from you. She really wants to see you working and understanding the material. Again, she is a great teacher:)
Mrs. D'Silva is a nice lady very helpful. tests are tricky because she doesnt write them but if you study hard you can pull an A. quizes are easy becuase she writes the questions. she kinda of sometimes repeat herself a little too much but you cant blame her its because she wants you to understand. overall highly recommend teacher the class easy A
Easy class but BORING. She's nice and wants you to learn the material but does not make it very interesting.
Well structured class and learned a lot about the economy and have a decent grade. Just go to class and do your work!!
Well structured class and learned a lot about the economy and have a decent grade. Just go to class and do your work!!
As long as you do your work, you'll get an A.
I took 101 with a very difficult teacher that was hard to understand. Mrs. DiSilva made economics easier to comprehend. she is very helpful and wants everyone to succeed. she gives out extra credit so you can boost your grade. if i would have know about her i would have taken both my econs with her! great teacher!
she is very helpfull teacher who is willing to help her students.quizzes and tests are little hard, but if you do your homework and study hard you would get A
Ms. D'silva was a good teacher. some classes were boring but she's very helpful. If you pay attention it souldn't be hard to get an A. I took her for 101 and 102 and got A's in both. I would say take her for econ it's pretty easy.
pay attention and it will be a breeze she explains things very well and will always help you
Not a very hard class got a B without buying a book or reading the chapters, but she was very annoying with her accent. Also usually gives a quiz ever other class.
You really need to work hard to get a good grade. I barely managed a B in this class. The final was tough, overall I learned a lot!!!
Took for summer school. EXTREMELY BORING. But did get a B bc she racks up points at the end of term. Became very frustrated because her lectures were boring and she got off topic easily and often but then the tests were extremely difficult. 2 tests the midterm was super hard and the final was a little bit easier.Quiz everyday
This wasn't such an easy class but I still got an A because she racks a lot of points. The exams are difficult but the quizzes are easy. She is EXTREMELY BORING and she doesn't answer questions at all. She is really nice though.
This class was a challenge and I got a B. Class was informative with lots of videos, WSJ article analysis and a Global econ presentation which really helped me learn econ.If you like Econ take this class!Instructor is helpful & wants you to learn!
I took both Econ 101 and 102 and really learned. The handouts and worksheets were very helpful. Breaks down dfficult concepts with real world situations. You have to study hard to get a good grade!!!
SHE CAN BE PRETTY BORING AT TIMES BUT SHE'S AN EASY-GOING TEACHER. THE WORK IS EASY, TESTS CAN BE HARD IF YOU DON'T STUDY. QUIZZES ARE ALL MULTIPLE CHOICE. I MADE IT THRU THE ENTIRE SEMESTER WITHOUT A BOOK AND GOT A B. JUST TAKE GOOD NOTES, PAY ATTENTION, IF YOU STAY AFTER CLASS OR A TEST SHE WILL HELP YOU AND GIVE YOU ANSWERS.
Her class is EXTREMELY boring. She just has one of those monotonous voices. However, she's very nice and willing to help if you need it. Her tests aren't that easy but the quizzes are. Just do your homework and go to class. She's more than willing to give extra credit, just ask!
Boring class, hard tests, hard to understand, easy quizzes.
The lecture outline for econ 102 and the fill in hand outs really makes it easy.Just take notes and study from the packets. Easy to get an A/B if you pay attention and do your homework!!!
If you are into Economy than this is a class for you. The class was not hard but it also wasn't an easy A. Some homework, 1 big presentation at the end and 2 exams that were not that hard at all. The teacher is nice but she is extremely slow and sometimes annoying. Used the book occasionally.
Not a really easy calls but not too hard. She explains things well but gives packets for every chapter which you have to complete and turn in at the end of the semester. Pretty boring class. Tests are kind of hard but sometimes lets you use notes. Took a lot of quizzes which were okay.
If you like economics take this class, you will really learn.Explains concepts very well. Class is a challenge, wants you to learn. Study from the packets, do the worksheets and you will end up with A/B.Instructor is very helpful!!! wants you to succeed.
I am getting an A in this class. Concepts are very well explained. Worksheets and handouts are just great. You need to work hard!!
Says text is mandatory, did not buy and got an A. Only used in class once or twice, but with partners. Is Indian and has very slight accent, but easy to understand and generally clear. Runs 6+ sections a semester, so may get confused with work. Show up at beginning, and towards the end. Small 5 minute presentation at end of semester. Easy stuff.
She is good. the day we started I thought Geez Ia m gonna fail this class! But I ended up with an A grade. just don't miss class, do your homework and don't dream in class. There s a lot of extra credit opportunity too.
I took her over the summer, and it was pretty easy. There are quizzes every day, but they're relatively straight forward. Her exams are a bit more difficult, but still not terrible. It's a boring class, not going to lie, but it's not her fault. Don't waste your money and buy the book because you do NOT need it. I wish i hadn't bought mine. Take her!
She is a good teacher, although she can tend to ramble off subject. She does care whether or not you pass, show up to class and take notes and you will pass. Packets are due at the end of the semester, but you fill them out in class.
Not an easy class, you really have to study/work hard and do all the worksheets, if you need an A. Really cares that students succeed and is helpful.Overall a good class!!!
She is awful. Most of the time she doesn't even remember what we learned the class before. She is very arrogant and implies that a student is dumb if they get an answer wrong.
Do not take her! She doesn't go over what's on the quizzes. She doesn't really keep track of what we do and she expects you to already know what she teaches before she says anything. She's a little hard to understand not only because of her heavy accent but she doesn't know how explain the terms in ways students can understand.
I really like the structure of the class. The fill in lecture outline and worksheets really helped to understand the concepts. Not an easy class you got to take notes and study to get a good grade!
I am currently taking the Econ 102 and really like the way the instructor explains the concepts. Take good notes and study well to earn a decent grade.
I took her my first semester for ECON 101, loved her! was my favorite class to go to. I took her for my second semester with ECON 102, Hated the class! It was like a totally different teacher. She changed drastically. She puts pressure on every student to participate and think with quick math (difficullt 2 do wen u hav no idea wats going on)
definitely not a fun class but the material is very easy. if you study a little, attend class, pay attention, and know what's going on, you will pass the class and it won't seem difficult. D'Silva is not a bad instructor, but sometimes difficult to understand.
Mrs. D'silva is a good instructor. I took her 3 week class which is probably a little bit harder than the 16 week class. You do gotta study before each quiz. Not a hard class, but not a walk through. Gotta pay attention during class to take notes. Does not use Power points that much. Ill recommend her
Straight forward, really informative, good woman. Loved her.
She keeps the class fairly easy. Took econ with both teachers, D'silva is definitely the best. I learned so much from her.
Took this class over summer for 4 weeks. Quizzes are easy while tests are hard. This class is not easy. You have to put in the time and study. Project is super easy! For 4 weeks course we used the book once. Professor is nice and laid back. I still recommend her.
She was a average college teacher. Took her Macro and Micro lectures. Micro is for sure harder than Macro. She is unorganized and never clear on her instructions on assignments, but were easily enough to figure out. Do not buy the book and just rent from library it when there is going to be group discussions. Her Micro-Economics is tough.
Sometimes we would have pop quizzes. She did not know what she assigned us or when were the due dates. We watched many videos and got easy points on those. She is a tough grader but will fix your grade if you have a valid reason. Class was boring. She would mumble words to herself and expect us all to hear her. Very weird class.
She has an accent, which makes it hard to know what she is saying. Her tests are kind of hard, and all her long assignments are for low points which sucks. i would not recommend her.
This class was decent. She can sometimes seem all over the place, but overall she was easy to follow. Don't get intimidated by the first day, the class is pretty easy. There are a lot of quizzes and a few tests. One project but it is very simple, you can pretty much do it in one day. I'd recommend her
102 with her is a LOT more difficult than Macro101 but I still have huge respect for her and she is a great teacher. Very clear with discussion and as long as you take good notes and study ahead of the weekly quizzes you will get at least a C. Put a little more effort and you will get a B. Don't miss class or you will be lost...
GREAT INSTRUCTOR! YOU REALLY NEED TO WORK HARD TO PASS THE CLASS. ATTEND CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. EXPLAINS IN A WAY THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND USING HANDOUTS/POWERPOINTS AS WELL. . HOWEVER, TESTS ARE HARD/QUIZZES EASY. YOU WILL LEARN MICROECONOMICS IN THIS COURSE FOR SURE!!!!
I loved this class!! Yes, she is a hard teacher but she says the first day if you read the book chapters she assigns you will do perfect. I received an A. The class really is not bad, she is clear cut on how she wants stuff done and is willing to go above and beyond for her students. You can tell she really cares about what she's teaching.
Would not recommend, she is confusing. Day one she repeat the same sentence 3 times in a row, I thought it was because she was nervous but as class continued she was more and more disorganized. She gave me a zero on a presentation I did because she forgot I went, said a quiz was worth 20 points and made it 10 online, and hard quizzes for low points
I loved Ms. D'Silva she was a great. She can be a unclear sometimes, but if you ask questions she tried her best to answer them. The tests were hard and confusing the way she worded them, but u can earn plenty point all semester. Also, quizzes after every chapter and she puts a bonus question so u can get extra credit.
I found her to be pretty rude at times, seems like whenever I'd ask her a question she'd slightly turn her back to me or mumble something under her breath. Overall, her class wasn't hard and she wants you to succeed. There's an average amount of homework and tests aren't too bad... mostly multiple choice. Just do the work and you should be fine
The instructor is very helpful and cares about the progress of the student. She wants you to really learn the concepts. Gives great handouts and real world applications that relates to the theory.I learned a lot. You have to work hard to get a good grade in this class. Does not tolerate slackers. Be prepared for every class just follow her instruct
The best Econ teacher must take her class!!!!!!
I enjoyed Professor D'Silva and her teaching style. She has an accent but I enjoyed listening to the different ways she pronounced her words. I took her for Econ 101 and then again for 102. You will only get out of this class what you put in.
I had her for an 8 week econ101 course over the summer and i really enjoyed the class. She is always willing to answer questions and explain things to students before or after class. There are plenty of opportunities to earn points and she was always a fair grader. I would definitely take her again because you really do learn a lot in the class.
I had her for econ 101 and am going to take her again for econ 102. She is a low point type grader but her one project and packets are not super hard. If you want a class with not extreme difficulty an the test besides one quiz are not terribly difficult take her. She even let us use notes on on a quiz.
Very nice teacher, but the class was kind of difficult; you have to work to get a B. Lots of little homework assignments and a few big projects, including a presentation on the macroeconomics of another country. You get to work with a partner on most quizzes and she takes the time to go over them and the tests, too.
Mrs. D'Silva was one of the funniest, nicest teachers I've had. She explains everything and will literally draw it out for you. She gets on funny tangents that are great. She really knows what the concepts are. Lots of paperwork but plenty of opportunities to get points and pass.
D'Silva really explains the topic well, lots of quizzes, and 4 tests. She is pretty monotoned, but its fun listening to her accent. She gives so much extra credit! Do not buy the book, waste of money & is never used in class. You need to study to do good in the class, she cares about her students and wants everyone to do well.
Maybe it was because I took her Honors Eco101 course, but she was very disorganized. I could say she honestly tried to make sure we understood the concepts but she managed to always get off the subject and lose class time. We were so behind that we had to skip an entire test. I was stressed taking her class because I wasn't sure what she wanted.
I took the 3 week Econ 101 and really learned macroeconomics, as the course was well structured. The instructor did a great job of explaining all of the concepts very well. The handouts and power points really helped.!!!! I will be taking the Econ 102 in the fall.
Follow her instructions, take notes , complete the handouts and the study guides, end up with an A. Overall a great teacher!!!
Gives lots of extra credit on quizzes and tests. Doesn't use book often, can find it online per chapter. clearly follows given packets when teaching, not hard to follow. gives real world examples, very easy to understand.
She gives out extra credit on every single quiz and test, but the subject is still hard. If you study and read the chapter before class, you'll get an A.
Prof. D. does a great job explaining the micro concepts by using great handouts with hands on learning activities. The power points also helps a lot in understanding the material especially graphs. The course is difficult so you really need to read and be prepared to get an A.. Gives extra credit on tests. Study guides are great as well.
I love her! You have to work for a good grade because this isn't the easiest of subjects but her organization and humor thru the semester helped a lot. Also gives a lot of extra credit and study guides that outline exactly whats on the test. Quizzes all the time but they help A LOT. You can tell she cares about her students success!
She has good intentions for student success but hard to understand. She does not explain what are on the quizzes and very unorganized. One time she handed out a quiz on material we did not learn yet! Overall genuine teacher just a tough class due to her teaching skills.
shes nice and explains well. class is hard and there arent many assignments so u need to study for the exams
She is probably the best teacher at Moraine. I took her 3 weekend Eco-101 and Eco-102 class and it was the easiest 3 weekends ever. She is pretty hard to understand, and she forgets a lot but she is really good. 95% of the quizzes are open notes, and both of the tests are open notes. This might only be for the weekend course though. BEST TEACHER!!!
Great class for business major. If you study from the handouts and power points it is an easy A.. Explains very well, lots of quizzes which forces you to study. Overall good class.......
She is a great teacher and really knows how her students learn best. There is a lot of work, but it is manageable and all helps you understand the material better to do well on the tests/quizzes. You have to stay on top of your work and study, but she offers extra credit on almost all the tests and quizzes and really makes sure you understand econ.
Professor DSilva is very understanding and willing to help her students. She teaches pretty boring subjects, but she does a good job at making class interactive so you dont get super bored. She always emphasizes the importance of participation, and she really wants you to learn.
She's a very kind teacher who tries to make lectures relate to her students. If you don't understand her, it was easy to get her to explain the concept again or in more detail. If you missed a class, she is quick to respond and get you caught up to the class. I really felt that she was a great teacher and friend, I would highly recommend her!
She offers extra credit on her quizzes and tests. The book is included in the course online. Honestly, her lectures are a little boring but as long as you pay attention and take notes the class will be a breeze. Her switch to online was terrible, her due dates were during our reg. class times, she could've been more understanding during COVID-19.
I took this class during the summer course. She is horrible, the worst teacher i have ever had. Feedback given on assignments were rude and unnecessary, The work load is ridiculous. I have never had less than a B in any class and i knew i would not be able to get a decent grade in her class. STAY AWAY
I loved having her as my professor! My class was online but she still managed to make me feel that person to person connection! As long as you complete the LearnSmarts/homework and look over her notes for each module you will do great on the quizzes and tests! She is always there if you need help, text, call, email shes always there! Shes great!!
I took this classes because of these rates. BIG MISTAKE. Worst teacher at Moraine. I took this summer 2020, I understand that it was a shorter time but the work load was ridiculous and she was rude. The comments she made made you feel less than. DO NOT TAKE
This online course for Fall 2020 was difficult as the student had to teach themselves most of the material. Because there are no lectures, it is hard to know what the information she presents is supposed to mean. You will need to take the extra step of interpreting your own work especially since much of the exam revolves around small details.
I took with her in winter break. Only one month with homework and quiz every two days, but you will be fine. Just pay attention on powerpoint and outline and some video. Her quiz and homework is easy in most of them. If you do well in quiz in each chapter, you could be fine in midterm and final exam because a lot of questions are exactly same!
She does provide a lot more resources for you to learn the concept. I liked the learn smart activities because they gave immediate feedback. She is also available more often to answer questions and review answers.
This Professor is great. She is very caring and teaches well. I took both online and in person and I can say confidently that she was able to maintain her excellence though the transition. She also is very responsive and understanding. She once let me take a quiz that I missed after I emailed her. Overall great professor would take her again.
One of my favorite professors I have taken! I have never taken an economics class, so I was fearful of how it would turn out. Since it was a summer class, it was condensed. We did 2 chapters every week with everything being due at the end of the week. She met with me through zoom and she explained everything and was very friendly! Take her class!!!
She is extremely unorganized she does not know how to work canvas with due dates also very hard to understand because of her heavy accent and when she explained something she makes it sound more complicated and confusing than what it really is with all that out of the way she does care about your grades and will except late work for full credit.
After failing a few online classes this professor does her job how it should be for online classes. She's a sweet lady. I just did her canvas assignments but with caution because you need to read the textbook a bit to understand. Sometimes (but not always) she accepts few late work by one day only. 1 short quiz and one HW assignment per week.
This was my second time taking a class with Professor D'Silva. She is a kind woman and a great teacher. If you are hoping to succeed in her class, it will take a bit of self studying; but that goes with all college courses. She grades in a timely manner and awarded extra credit points. I highly recommend taking her!
I took both Econ and Econ 102 with Professor D. I really liked the the way the online class was structured. Lots of homework especially the smartbook /Connect assignments are awesome. Get ready to learn and you should be fine.
I took this course over the summer. Prepare to teach yourself because everything she provides you is taken from Google. Her class is very disorganized, and the content is difficult to understand because it is random (quizzes & homework). Due dates are all over the place, and her grading is erratic. I don't recommend taking her.
Professor provides a lot of resources Videos, PowerPoints and McGraw- Hill Connect Assignments for you to learn the concept. The smart book/Role play activities are great as they give you immediate feedback. She is always available to answer questions and review the quizzes and tests. Highly recommend!!!!
The course itself is not very interesting but she does a good job. There are many opportunities for extra credit and as long as you complete your work you are guaranteed a good grade. The tests are slightly challenging but manageable if you study. She forces you to participate and has an attitude if you don't, but I liked this style of teaching.
Class is so awk that I would try not to laugh. She's a good teacher don't get me wrong. She WANTS you to get a good grade. every test extra credit. reopens assignments MANY times.but omg so awk. She wants the class to participate, if u don't she'll look YOU right in the eye and be like are u awake, do u like math. laughing so hard rn its so awk.
This class is an easy A but you will need to read the textbook and notes in order to understand to lesson and be able to do assignments and quizzes. She doesn't take more than a day to answer emails. Provides good feedback. Took her for both ECO 101 and 102.
She hid the fact that the exams are proctored until students are locked in to the course and have no way out some students have anxiety and will not take a class with proctoring it should have been mentioned in the syllabus especially since we are paying money, instead of saying that all exams are taken thru canvas be clear
Very helpful professor, pace of the class was good, instructions were very clear. I am currently in person class. I enjoy the connect role play assignments .Quizzes and Exams are pretty easy as long as you follow the study guide, questions are from the lecture discussion, so take good notes. Overall good class!
Even though I registered late for class, the lectures were awesome and I was able to catch up. She cares for her students to learn and is always willing to meet after class. Before exams, she reviews the questions that will appear. Homework is creative and fun. Overall, she is super understanding, and would highly recommend her for economics.
If you take notes and pay attention to the lectures then you will easily pass. And take advantage on getting a good grade on the homework because you can retake them and those points add up
Professor D's online course was well structured and easy to follow. You really need to thoroughly review all the materials posted in the modules to get an A. The role play and smart book assignments really helps in understanding the course concepts. This is not a easy class you got to do your work....!!!
I just finished her ECO-101 class and let me say how good she is she is a very good professor you should definitely take her SHE IS THE BEST but there is a lot of homework and mcgraw hill but they are creative and fun to do and her exams and quizzes are good I'm taking for ECO 102 in the summer that is for sure. TAKE HER
Professor D's class is well-structured with engaging activities like role-play and Connect assignments. The lectures are thorough, and she's happy to help outside class. Unstuckstudy and diligent note-taking make this manageable.
She was great! She was very clear on what topics from her lectures would appear on a quiz/exam, explained tough concepts with real-world examples, asked many time if anyone had any questions. It was obvious that she genuinely cared about students doing well in her class.
My favorite class that I've taken at MVCC!
honestly such a good professor and would for sure take her again. Assignments are easy and is very clear about what is on the quizzes. does like class participation and sometimes would cold call but it was simple answers. explains concepts well and always gave examples. I would definitely recommend taking
She is a great professor. Everything that appears on the quizzes will also be on the tests. During her lectures, she tells you whats on the quiz. Quizzes are usually worth 10 points, but she gives 12–13 problems and counts best of 10. As long as you do the homework and attend class, you'll do well. All Quizzes/Tests are Multiple Choice!
Took this as a hybrid course and it went very well. She lectures once a week and all the homework and quizzes are online. She is very caring and explains things as thoroughly as can be for the hour she has. There is a good amount of work but is kind and will reopen things if needed. She wants you to do good and gives lots of opportunities to do so.
The class was challenging but rewarding. As long as you study the lecture outline/in class notes and do the assigned connect homework, you will do well on the quizzes and the exams. Overall Prof D does a great job explaining the concepts using real world examples. Really cares and keeps track of the students progress!!
She's very clear and to the point. She lays out her expectations pretty clearly. She was also accommodating regarding class when I wasn't able to attend for some days. Her canvas page is such a joy because it's so organized and neat. I would take her again if I needed to, but the course material IS challenging. Her teaching makes it easier.
