This was my first time taking Professor Hidalgo and I'm so happy I did! He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities because he genuinely wants you so succeed in the class. He'll only help you out if you put in the effort and do your part. This was a great class and that's because Professor Hidalgo made it one.

If you put the work in and attend class, he will forgive mistakes related to your ability to actually speak the language, as long as you're making an effort to understand the rules he's explaining. Good opportunities for extra credit too, to soften the hard tests lol.

Super funny, he will explain anything to you if you need any help.

Great person, however he doesn't really teach he just reads from the book. So it is important for you to read the book outside of class to get a better understanding if you're not already a spanish speaker. He gives a lot of great extra credit. So if you do the lab and take advantage of the extra credit you should do great.

He was really fun and made the four hour class super interesting. He presents new material in a clear way and made Spanish go from being a class I really did not like(based on prior professors) to one I actually enjoyed! Would highly recommend!

I took this professor over wintermester and I don't regret doing so, at all. Overall, this class was a lot of fun. There was 3 group presentations but they were not hard to do. The class may seem long (4hrs) and the professor does take up all the time but the activities in class make the time fly. Again, great professor! Definitely take him.

One of the BEST profs Ive taken! He is so funny and really cares! I was extremely nervous to take Spanish since I did terrible in HS, but I made a 97! All hw is online but is super easy. We did activities from the book every day with a partner. Quiz/test questions come STRAIGHT from the book! 2 cultural reports and 2 oral presentations but SO EASY

Loved him, you gotta show up to class though he knows his students that try and dont try. I took spanish 3 so it is a little hard even for spanish being my native tongue but he gives extra credit. He says textbook is required butttt i just copied my the person next to me. He isnt too clear on guidelines but he is flexible with what you do.

Although he is a tough professor, hes great when it comes to his teaching. If his lectures run long then he makes sure to keep the students engaged. His exams are very easy if you study and pay attention in class. Attendance definitely matters since there is a lot of participation throughout the class. He only wants what is best for you.

This is my first time taking professor Hidalgo, didnt make a mistake by taking him for Spanish class. He clearly tells you what is expected in his class. Lots of participation, group projects, and study for his exams. He gives extra credit and works with you.

I was scared to take Spanish 4 but I'm glad I took his class. I had him for an 8-week class but it is enough time to focus on the important things. At times he might go really fast but he will answer any questions you have. He never makes you feel bad for not knowing how to say things correctly. I would highly recommend this professor.

I did a level 4 8 week course. Theres no hang outs. I kinda recommend the book; if you find Spanish a bit challenging and need that extra time to look over to study then yes buy it. Professor Hidalgo is very helpful with assisting his students understand the class materials, offers various opportunities for extra credit, reviews before exams and is FUNNY (which is always a good thing). I would recommend renting the book if possible. I personally was unable to purchase and it has been a bit difficult without it.

Professor Hidalgo was an absolute pleasure to have as a professor. He's very knowledgeable of the material and teaches it well, but he also cares a lot about your grade! He isn't your average "sink or swim" professor. I would definitely take him for future classes.

His lectures are usually interesting and they hold my attention throughout. He lets you know what to study before a quiz or test and gives extra credit. Although sometimes he moves really fast during lecture, so if you do't know some Spanish you can feel a little confused.

I attended Professor Hidalgo's Summer II Spanish 4 class at Tarrant County College in 2019. I was impressed by his charisma and teaching style. He explained the concepts quickly and effectively to my learning. He showed us interesting movies in class that we had to write papers on. I was excited to watch these movies.

Great teacher. Very understanding if you have things going on outside of class. You HAVE to do the lab to pass but he usually goes over things in the textbook to get you through the lab faster. Tests are easy peasy if you pay attention & go to class. He encourages questions. Most amazing teacher Ive had at this school.

I recommend buying the textbook as a paper copy and filling it out as he goes over everything. He gives out extra credit a lot. He makes you learn better by making you do the work and he'll call on every student to answer them. Sometimes the lab is due fast after it's assigned but I don't think he controls it. Lets you record your presentations !!

Mr. Hidalgo is a great professor. He is very chill and gives great lectures. You should attend classes and do the extra credit if you want to pass. Im non-Hispanic and barely know much but if you put effort, show up, participate and work then youll surely get an A. I took his 8 week class and I do not regret it.

Professor H is a great professor and gives positive feedback. Many chances for extra credit but you have to work for it, which is a good habit because it gives you the extra help you may need. Participation helps with comprehending the material and he also gives a good amount of extra credit for test. Before most of the test there are reviews for a bit more practice.

This class went better than I ever could have expected. Attendance is not mandatory but highly advisable to earn all participation grades. The group project is very importanté and fun so make sure you work on it and have fun when presenting. The textbook is not required but again highly advisable to keep up with the class. The class is interactive.

Hes a very good professor, very entertaining and funny. Being there is key because if you dont show up he wont work with you as much as students who actually show up and put the effort in to pass. Coming from a Spanish background the class is quite difficult but he will work with you just enough to help you pass! I recommend taking his course!

He is a pretty great professor nothing to complain about. Just be prepared for every test, he gives you extra credit on SOME but NOT ALL. He cares that you pass, but he also wants to make sure you understand the work. I would recommend him to everyone, but make sure you have your book at least by the second week because he teaches out of it a lot.

This professor is very easy going, and he is very clear about what he expects of you. There are no surprises, he's very straight forward about what is expected. He gives extra credit opportunities, so that helps. He likes when you participate in class. Most test are free response and he might remember your effort when grading!

I took two semesters of spanish with him because he was such a good teacher! He makes the class fun while learning at the same time. There are group projects so choose your partners wisely! And study for the tests and quizzes and you'll pass. Also do the lab!!!! It's a huge chunk of your grade!

Professor Hidalgo was great if youre looking to learn Spanish and have a easy passing grade take him. He does have labs you do and quizzes but you have all the time in the world to do them and sometimes even gives the whole class more time to complete assignments. Is a lot though so keep that in mind DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!

Prof. Hidalgo was awesome! I'm taking him for SPAN 1412 in the spring because I loved how he ran his class. The lab is a lot, but he opens all of them at the beginning of the semester. Once you complete the lab for the lesson your are doing you're free to leave lab. He really helps your grade if you showed up and at least participated. TAKE HIM!

His class is not hard at all but there is quite a bit of homework , he is willing to give extra credit . The quizzes are not hard at all. Attendance is mandatory for labs . I will be taking him in the spring again for an online class .

As soon as you meet Profesor Hidalgo he's very enthusiastic and ready to teach his class. His optimism and eagerness to teach makes you comfortable to always reach out to him for any help. I would definitely choose him as your professor, when you're ready to learn a new language!

Mr. Hidalgo is one of my favorite Spanish teachers I have ever had he loves what he does and that all I ask from a professor and on top of that hes willing to help if you need it and from the first day you know that you can ask him for help

He is a very passionate and fun teach, it is definitely a great class to have at 8 in the morning. He is very laid back and his lectures are super engaging. I would highly recommend. The only down side is lab is mandatory, even though it is something that is very capable of being completed at home.

Dr. Hidalgo's Spanish has been a really great experience. As a non-heritage speaker in a Level 3 spanish class can really be a challenge and feel intimidating. However, Dr. Hidalgo makes learning fun and takes the pressure off of perfection. Not to mention he is incredibly funny! He gives extra credit, which is necessary for this class level

He is a really good teacher. If you speak Spanish, it is a really easy class. If you don't that is ok, he is always happy to help where it is needed and is always happy to clarify. Make sure you pay attention in class, you never know when you will be called on to answer questions. Other than that, really awesome teacher!!!

If you don’t understand Spanish very well though, you might want to take an easier course because there is a lot of Spanish going on here. ;)

Professor Hidalgo throughout this summer semester has been a fun experience to have been a part of. Although the sheer amount of vhl central lab work is astonishing however due to the personality of Professor Hidalgo I do find this class to be an overall positive experience.

This class has a lot of homework but I still found out relatively easy to manage even during the summer semester. Dr. Hidalgo is great at simplifying certain Spanish rules, especially for people who did not take Spanish in high school. He wants everyone to participate in in-class activities, but it was very simple and great for reinforcing content.

Dr. Hidalgo is so energetic and hilarious, and he breaks everything down so simply. Even if you do not know any Spanish, you will surely be able to have basic conversations after this class. There is so much work in VHL, as well as daily quizzes and some tests. However, if you participate, he will boost your grade. You will not regret taking him!

I took Dr. Hidalgo for beginner spanish I in the summer and I absolutely loved him! I'm not a native spanish speaker but he made it so fun and easy to learn a new language! Professor Hidalgo cares! His class mainly consists of the online homework, with some quizzes that aren't weighted very heavy, but they are very specific. So if he witnessed that a lot of students struggled on the quizzes the next class he asks us questions and if we get them right he gives us extra credit on the quizzes. He wants us to do well!

I took Mr. Angel Hidalgo Spanish 1411 on summer one, on 2022 he is an amazing, funny, enthusiastic teacher. he makes you laugh, has good vibe, he has a lot of energy. Also he teaches from the book, participation is very important. lectures are very good, tests, quizzes are not that hard if you are in class everyday.

Dr. Hidalgo is a very fun professor: he is exuberant, candid, and carefree. He brings the energy to class, is full of anecdotes, and engages with his classroom. He wants all of his students to make an A, so if you come to class, participate, do your homework, and he sees that you are trying, he is going to work with you to get an A.

I took him for summer SPAN1412 and I preferred the easiness of my first spanish teacher. Most VHL assignments are unlimited attempts. Quizzes and tests are only one attempt. The midterm and final werent bad if you studied, but there was no review. He was an average good professor. Youll do great in this class if youre good at spanish.

There are a LOT of homework assignments but he really wants you to learn Spanish. He is always willing to help and answer questions! For an 8:00 a.m. class, he is fun, energetic, and engaging. He will definitely keep you awake...draws you into fun conversations w/ your classmates. I would definitely take another class w/ him!

I took Professor Hidalgo for Sp. 2 & 3. He was an amazing professor who gives you plenty of opportunities to bring your grade up and work through Spanish grammar. There is mandatory text book and quizzes linked to them. The tests are hard on grammar but the professor is understanding on that and provides extra credit.

I really like the professor he is very forgiving with grades and if you show interest in the class he takes note of that and tries to help you if you are struggling. He teaches right from the book. You should definitely do the practice and read the lesson before he lectures over it because you usually take a quiz over it right after he teaches it.

Beginning Spanish II with Mr.Hidalgo is great. I would recommend him for any class you take regarding Spanish, easily one of the best professors here at TCC. He gives a lot of extra credit and is very helpful, make sure you attend class and do your homework and you'll be successful.

Professor Hidalgo has clear grading criteria. The homework is tough if you are brand new to Spanish like I was. Notes will be your best friend. Other than that, He was very friendly and nice. He also gave our class extra credit on the midterm just because he felt like it. Overall He is a nice guy, the curriculum is just hard.

He's a super nice and funny professor and I honestly feel bad that I did not try in his class because he put a lot of care into every individual student. He will call you to participate when doing textbook questions in class so be ready and attentive for if he calls your name. He was always respectful and treated all equally with respect.

This class is pretty easy, you have to pay attention to what he's saying because he verbally tells the class what activities to do, you want to be prepared to participate since its part of a grade. Textbook Is necessary but the online version is better since you can do the activities on any device. Overall he's pretty chill, funny & not strict.

Very chill. All the assignments are on VHL Central. The tests are easy. There's 2 proctored exams on lockdown browser which are the midterm and the final exam. Responds to emails fairly quickly and gives feedback on discussion boards. There's like 100+ VHL assignments but he gives you about a month to do them and theyre easy.

All assignments are through VHL which have 100+ activities to do but you're able to do it at your own pace which is nice. The exams aren't hard, he gives back great feedback and answers emails quickly. Overall I enjoyed taking this class.

This class was great year round. As long as you pay attention and do the practice you'll pass. VERY nice and outgoing, you'll enjoy this class.
