Angel's psych class is super easy if you put in a little effort. The class is test heavy, so just make sure you study for the tests. Even then, the tests are pretty easy. He is great with helping if you don't understand a topic, I was never afraid to ask dumb questions in class. Overall, this class is pretty easy and Angel is a great professor.

I loved professor Houts when I took him for psychology. If you dont understand anything on the material then he will 100% explain it to you so you can get a better understanding. Most of your grade will come from test exams, so he does not assign homework, if he does its rare and very easy to accomplish.

Professor Houts is a great professor, he is easily accessible through email and always responds to me within 10 minutes. Tests are heavy in this class, however he provides ample extra credit opportunities and creates reviews and holds review sessions for us students. He also gives out candy which is great.

I had Houts this past semester and he was be far my favorite professor, you could tell he was truly passionate about what he taught. He was a very awesome teacher, he's a young and funny guy that will encourage lots of participation. He liked to mix class up a few times with fun activities and more interesting strategy to teach the material. He does lots of lectures but if you take enough notes and attempt to be in class most of the time, you will do amazing!

This class was very enjoyable. Though attendance is not required, Professor Houts makes the lectures entertaining and easy to follow, so there's no reason not to show up. The hardest part of this class is the required research, but if you get started early it's not that bad.

The whole class is lectures with a few interactive activities, however I enjoyed the topics and felt as if the exams were very easy. I genuinely learned the topics and did not dread going to class. He is a very chill professor and is easygoing. Only "hard" thing about this class was the psych study requirements, which is in every uark psych class.

Makes gen psych easy and fun. Simultaneously good for psych majors and for people who just need the credit. I was super busy with Organic Chem and Diff Eq that sem, so I didn't come to many lectures, but the ones I did go to were dope. If you go to lecture it's impossible to fail the exams, but the PPts are great too if you can't make it.

I had him for cognitive psych- Angel makes his lectures so fun and engaging, and he really cares about his student's success. If a test is going to be hard, he'll offer extra credit or the opportunity to use a cheat sheet. As long as you go to class and pay attention you'll do just fine and have fun.

I took Angel Houts for cognitive psychology(3103)at the University of Arkansas, and it was honestly an amazing class. At the beginning of the year I did not do too well on the first test and Angel talked through the test with me and allowed me to argue for points back. I have seriously enjoyed this class over all my others, so I highly recommend.

I took Cognitive Psychology (PSYC 3103) with Prof. Houts and I really enjoyed it. The grade for the class is VERY test heavy, but if you show up and ask questions when you need to, you'll be good. He's engaging, he cares, and he let us have a cheat sheet/note card for the exams. The class activities are engaging and helped me to conceptualize info.

His class is super easy. Gives out extra credit with no homework. Easy to talk to. You should come to class because he sometimes gives information that is not on the lecture and he won't give you the lecture unless you show up or have genuine reason for missing class. He has fun activities and rewards for participating. No book is needed.

Angel is absolutely one of the most laid back and articulate professors in the Psychology department. His summer class covered everything you need to know about Psychology and the tests are usually open note. Extra credit opportunities made my grade a 102. Even if you take Angel another semester, you are guaranteed an A as long as you take notes.

He makes the class really interesting and makes an effort to make the class interactive with activities, videos, and games, etc. He applies the topics to students and the current culture making concepts easy to learn and relatable. Houts makes the lectures interactive and amusing, filling every slide with pop culture references and in-class activities that make the material easy to understand. It's obvious how much he cares about what he does and how much he cares about his students. He's a great guy and I would 100% take another class with him.

Psych of Diversity with Angel Houts was awesome! He is extremely engaging and cares about the views of his class, while leaving the floor open for all views, judgment free! The homework is doable, and the exams were online and based off of the lectures he provides online and in class! Would totally recommend taking this class with him.

Easily one of the best professors at UARK! Only has like 5 papers but they are super easy and they are about your own experiences, each one only took like 30-45 minutes. Super easy exams, if you take notes in class. Attendance is not required but I recommend going because his lectures were a lot of fun!

We had these awesome activities throughout the class where we had to talk to our classmates and engage in group discussions about the material which was satisfying and helped me earn the material better

Attendance isn't required until the end of the semester where your final is a group project and attendance is taken for a grade. Open-note assignments!

This was the easiest class I have ever taken. Your grade is made up if three open note online exams, Six one page essays, and a super simple group project at the end of the semester. I barely attended class and I received an A on every assignment all semester.

Professor Houts makes lectures engaging and easy to understand. With no textbook required, he provides great study resources like slides and practice guides. I'd recommend using unstuckstudy along with the class materials for effective prep.
