A great teacher. He will teach you a lot, but don't expect to get an easy grade.
Very hard. You can understand his English, although through a thick accent. Extremely difficult--expects you to have memorized and be able to instantly recall eight pages of integrals, derivatives, and other (albeit extremely important) information.
In my opinion he is an aweful teacher and gives you the run around as far as knowledgable and useful facts. He doesn't teach, rather has you guess the answer, but what does one learn from guessing? He is the worst professer I have ever had.
Take this class if you plan to fail or drop, because the way he teaches is terrible. The university should have fired him a long time ago. He is terrible at his lessons and is very hard to understand. Worst professor I've ever had.
I must agree w/the last post. Though you'll hear only bad from everone else, I thought his class to be smooth sailing really. I thought him lenient and extraordinarily helpful.
Very difficult class... Vectors is the easy part (first or last part of the course... depends on his mood, I guess). Brace yourself when you get to triple integrals!!! hehe EXCELLENT teacher! NOT an easy grade... Definitely a challenge!
In all honesty this is one of the best teachers I have had. His no-nonsense style of approaching calculus helped me in later classes. He will be one of the toughest you EVER encounter, do not expect an easy grade. (And I think he is tougher on females)
At first I thought he was awful. Towards the middle of the semester, everything made sense and was very helpful in other classes. Take him if you really want to learn.
only take if you like memorization and enjoy having to teach yourself
MULESHKOV is probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He will only teach the way he likes, so disregard the book's way of teaching, and his quizzes are impossible. He mocks the class for not understanding and is very egocentric.
Absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. There is no reason why he should still being teaching at the university. He is hard to understand, he mocks students who ask questions, and seeing him during office hours is a waste of your time.
Teacher is totally horrible. Hard to understand his accent, expects you to memorize tons of info, totally ridicules the students who don't "GUESS" the answers in 2 seconds, never uses the book to teach, it's HIS methods or ya fail. Totally hard class, I wish I'd dropped.
EXCELLENT TEACHER! I'D ADVISE THOSE LOOKING FOR AN EASY TIME TO FIND ANOTHER TEACHER. THIS CLASS IS VERY CHALLENGING, BUT HE IS ALSO VERY APPROACHABLE. IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE, JUST ASK... DON'T SIT BACK AND COMPLAIN LIKE MANY OF THE STUDENTS ON THIS SITE HAVE. YOU NEED TO WORK FOR YOUR GRADE!!!
Muleshkov is a joke and shouldn't be teaching at a university - level. He is tough to understand and apparently discriminates against girls who take his class. He should have been gone a long time ago. http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/1998/Aug-17-Mon-1998/news/8016117.html
He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Everyone I have talked also agrees with that. People who kmow him avoid his classes like the plauge. People left his class the first day to take different teacher. He is awful and I agree with all the negative posts about him. FIRE HIM!!!!!!
Insights insights insights! He's overflowing with them. The Physics chair even flaunts his math kungfu. Oh, he's good alright. He tends to adapt to the class and paces as such. Don't be afraid to ask questions even when he laughs at you, because he has a funny grizzly Bulgarian chuckle. Even dances!
IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN STICK WITH ANGEL
At first I wanted to pull my hair out because I didn't understand at all but in the middle of the semester I started understanding and learned a lot from him. He has an accent so pretty hard to understand at first but you get use to it. If you want to learn take his class but you have to work your BUTT off if you want to aim for a B or A.
Dr. Muleshkov is a good teacher. He teaches different methods from the book so it can be difficult to get help other than him, but he is very helpful. He is a Republican so he has a pretty skewed world view which does seep into his teaching philosophy. Overall he is an excellent teacher and you will learn. Visit him during office hours.
He is probably one of the best teachers i have ever had. He really knows the material and is very approachable. I'd advise anyone looking for an easy "A" not to take him.
Worst Teacher Ever in my life!! Too much egocentric!
If you want an applied learning experience from someone who is truley excited about the material take Muleshkov. If your someone who is looking for an easy A move along. Advice do exactly what he tells you to do. His methods are the best way to do this stu
do not take because his class is very hard, but he is nice guy
Don't even bother. Take Ding instead. You will be so handicapped if you depend on learning this material form him.
Be very prepared if you want to pass this class. I'm not a math major, and I failed. If you are a math major take Muleshkov, if your major is anything else drop him you'll fail. He's not easy and very egocentric. Prepare to feel like a real dumb-ass in this class. Cool to talk to out of class and away from anything math related.
Ask yourself this: Do you simply want a worthless degree without any practical knowledge, or do you want marketable skills that you can use to rise above the competition in the real world? Muleshkov provides the latter. Take him for a challenge and a learning experience. Work hard!
its not about challenging your intellect like someone had stated earlier... I honestly thought this guy was really disorganised, and thats what was pissin' off bout him... and yes he always thinks he's right and it gets a bit irritating every once in awhile... managed to pass but with a lot of effort!
Muleshkov is a very good prof. The unfavorable posts are probably from ppl who failed or dropped the class. Work hard, study, do what he says and you will do well in the class and in the future. I will say he grades very hard, if you want an easy A stay away!
I got a B+ in his class before but I still hate him. Because he is so egocentric. Never listen to other students' approaches. He just ingores every other people's alternatives and always stick to his solutions. Hate this guy so much!
If you're one of those overly sensitive types (like some of the people here), avoid him. He doesn't hold your hand. But, his methods are excellent and very practical. He cares, and his class is a blast. Beyond that, the math is superb.
If you are really obedient, take his class. Don't even trying to be creative. He will mock and humiliate you even though your method is right. Just be a minion and worship him like some guyz over here.
Great math professor. Best in the department. Don't listen to whiners and babies (unless you are one). Take Muleshkov and work hard - you will need to. You will be happy that you had him in the end.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS PERIOD!
If you're stupid, lazy, or hyper-sensitive - you'll probably dislike him. However, if you appreciate classical mathematics, this is the guy. Challenge yourself, take every class Prof. Muleshkov teaches. Be ready to work, and be ready to achieve your potential. Don't listen to the "Cs get Degrees" crowd.
I see a lot of complaints. But the truth is, Muleshkov is a good professor. Those complaining are probably mad because they finally took a class where more than attendance is required.
People talk here useing the "he'll help you sharpen your real world skills" which maybe true for those of you that know how to do the "super immposible calc. algeba" but for those of us in the REAL real world, were gonna go right to the calulator (which he does'nt let you use for some reason) and do this useless crap in 2 seconds. super UNclear...
I've him for three classes now, and not by choice. They don't tell you who's teaching what in the math department until the last second. This is because there would only be two complete idiots in this man's class. He teaches formulas and memorization, not math. If you like learning the theory behind the formulas, don't take him.
Everything he teaches in class is critical and he has an excelent way of making it stick. He tells us THE APPLICATIONS, WHAT IS IT USED FOR, HOW IS IT USED, WHAT CAN IT HELP US IN. If you are really interested in learning, and are willing to study, I would suggest taking him. He is very helpful, he will tell you to see him whenever U need help.
His expectations are high. Hits you with a quiz on the first day (not for pts) and has you print out 7 handouts from his website that go over the foundation EVERY student should have after completing calc II. Various times throughout the class he would go over basic topics from college alg, pre-calc, and calc just because of a lost look on most of
He may be an ok instructor for his Calc classes, but for complex analysis he is a joke. While he is knowledgeable on the subject he does not understand how to convey his knowledge to his students. If you ask questions he gives you an analogy of a hammer and a screwdriver and not using the correct one, but never answers your question.
His fan-club is a little annoying, but so are the haters. Overall, very nice man (once you get used to him), and very good instructor. It is true that his methods are much more powerful and easier than the book. Beware, he takes pride in being challenging. Tough professor, but will prepare you well for future classes.
He teaches at a much higher level than the normal calculus classes. I signed up for his class to "learn" what I missed. His handouts are like gold and he makes the calculus topics as easy as algebra. The only thing that is missing is HARD work by the students. Take the course seriously, otherwise you'll get a bad grade, even if 50% is a C...
he is a ridiculous professor. take someone else.my advice to avoid this professor is to call the math department so you'll know who is teaching a certain class that you taking.that way you can avoid the plague.i'm serious he is indeed terrible and the book is useless..even if 50 % is a C.a grade of C in his class is equivalent to a grade of A in ot
i don't understand why people says he's gud.he's the worst professor ever.people hate him and so do I.I change my major from BS Math to BS Biology and had return to Colombia because of him.I drop all my classes except with him but I still fail.About 5-10% of the students pass. But watever, I guess we all have likes and dislikes
He is only interested in teaching and being helpful only to cover himself. He is biased against women and is overall the worst teacher I have ever had. He spits while he is talking and points in your face. This is a violation of personal space and I hope that he is repremanded heavily for his lack of propriety.
If u wanna know if he's gud, 2-5 weeks after the begining of the semester, check the class/es that he is teaching by going to the math dept or the online registration and see how many students actually stay in the class. That says it all. He is not the professor that you will like.i took a class with him and 25% of the students were left in final
Not an easy 'A'. But, excellent professor. If you want to coast through college without learning anything, choose someone else. If you want to learn, choose Muleshkov. He's the best, hands down. LOL at the guy who changed his major. Wow. What a joke! Work hard, and enjoy this class.
Let me tell you: this guy is hard. But he cares. I had surgery and he gave me time to catch up and worked with me personally so that I could not only catch up, turn in my work late, make up quizzes, but also so I understood the material. If you cares, he cares, he was invaluable to me at this time. I am thankful I had him. But I studied my ass off.
He is extremely difficult & extremely helpful. You have to have a ton of time to study for this class & you have to want to seek out his help. He has his own techniques that aren't from the book. They are great but math tutors won't be able to help. His handouts are gold & when he says know them, you better have a perfect copy stored in your head.
BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS CLASS PLEASE GO TO MULESHKOV's SITE (on the math department site) & STUDY THE HANDOUTS! They really are like gold. Muleshkov is hard but if you follow his methods everyone will think you are a genius. Plus 50% is a C after the curve. He is always available outside of class. Also, very helpful if you form a study group! GoodLuck
He has a big heart for students that genuinely want help. He's very friendly, but EXTREMELY difficult. His summer class is ridiculous if you aren't retaking him from a previous semester. His handouts must be memorized completely or you don't have a chance. He has his own way of teaching calc 2 that doesn't involve trig sub & it's a blessing! 50%=C
This teacher, is nice in personality. however, he has somewhat of an accent, and worst of all, he mumbles so much that you can't really understand anything unless you concentrate 120%. say 50 people started in the class and in the end about 15 - 10 remains. Don't think that you can study from the book, it's impossible. quizzes tests are not even fr
This teacher is amazing. He won't go out of the book, does his own notes that are not examples but METHODS of solving. Cares so much about his students. Not for the faint of heart, if you want to learn there is no question where you should go. I still drop by to visit a year later. :) Tough, but thorough. Not an easy A.
His quizzes are awful if you don't study or go to class but they are exactly what he does on the board with different numbers. Google him and you will find his worksheets. MEMORIZE and you will get an A. He asks you to memorize 12 integrals, THAT'S IT. No Calculators but no calculations. Doesn't care if 2 + 2 =5 won't mark you off for that.
Professor Muleshkov is a distinguished mathematician in the world and is a great teacher for students who actually want to learn. He is very kind as a person in general if you get to know him. The reason students complain is because of the lack of knowledge from previous which were not taught by him or any good teacher. Lectures are very logical.
worst teacher! avoid!!!
TERRIBLE TEACHER. Avoid him. He does not listen to his students at all. If you don't get something on the board and try to ask, he yells at you. He has a bit of an accent. Not helpful at all. Can't even converse with him because he refuses to let you get a word in.
Difficult to get used to, but well worth it. He doesn't teach by the book and in a few chapters completely disagrees with it.
Great teacher. If you belong to the 'entitlement generation' you probably won't like him. If you appreciate a teacher who holds you to a high standard and you like coming out of a class feeling like you achieved something, take him. He is very fair and very helpful. Do the work and you will get through just fine. Best calc prof I have had out of 6.
Great but challenging professor. Take him if you want to learn the material, not just get a free A in math.
Got A on his class. But still hate him so much. Too much ego on solving problmes. He think that he is right and other approaches are all garbages. He is not that great!
Muleshkov is the best math professor I have ever had. He knows what he his talking about, and he has many useful strategies that textbooks and other professors ignore. His perceived roughness is actually passion for mathematics and a drive to teach. If you want to learn and be the best, you need to take a class from him.
He is a hard professor and does have a bit of an ego. I learned this the hard way by trying to fight him the first half of the semester. One I swallowed my pride and actually listened to what he was saying I learned a ton. I would recommend taking his class. Pay attention from day 1 and you will learn a lot.
Hard teacher, knows a lot and has a passion for Mathematics, but belittles students in front of the class for not having the answer he wants. His grading policy was completely arbitrary and confusing. Seemed like the Math majors loved him and hung on his every word, but if you're not a Math major, don't even bother taking his classes.
His accent is thick and he dominates the discussion. He will not help you unless in his office hours. No questions answered during class or he gets irritated. His teaching philosophy is very proprietary. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He takes no accountability for your learnig and feels that everyone learns on same level.
Amazing instructor. Hard class.
The ultimate math professor. I have never gained as much knowledge out of any other class I have ever taken.
If only UNLV were willing to pay for good professors, we wouldn't have professors like him.
Don't understand all the hate. Muleshkov is one of the best professors on campus. Extremely intelligent, teaches lessons based on logic and practicality, and always so funny, kind, and helpful. Very hard class, but set up for success. If you put the work in, you will gain extremely valuable insight into the beginnings of upper level mathematics.
Study the notes he gives out at the begining of semester. It will make life somewhat easier. If you are planning on going further take his class it provides a great foundation that turns you into a math jedi.
Though this was the hardest class I've ever taken in my life, I feel I truly understand the concepts. Muleshkov is a great teacher who tries his best to instill enthusiasm in his students. Learn the handouts he gives at the beginning of the semester. It helps immensely. Grading is fair, and he does give participation points which are easy to get.
He was fairly inaccessible. He would not meet outside of office hours right after class. If you went, he didn't help. He routinely calls the class stupid. The TA was ridiculously strict with grading (1/2 off for "bad writing"), the HW's go beyond what's covered in class and the midterm and final go beyond what's covered in the HW's and quizzes.
Professor Muleshkov is a brilliant mathematician & an outstanding instructor. His class is not for everyone - only those who are serious about their studies should select him. Some say he is arrogant - but let's see how modest you are when you have superior methods and have taught over half a century. Knowledge > gimme grades. He makes math a joy.
AM is from the old school. His courses are rigorous but he gives you everything you need to succeed. Learn to work hard & be successful. Slackers stay away. Here's a good quote potential students should consider: "We must remember that one man is much the same as another, and that he is best who is trained in the severest school." - Thucydides.
Muleshkov is not an easy teacher. He's also very degrading. Don't bother going to office hours. Your question will not be answered. Go to the tutoring center instead. He does give you the basic knowledge to succeed in his class, but do not be fooled. His class requires A LOT of outside work. Good luck. If possible, wait for another professor.
He is not easy. If you make a small mistake you "Killed the problem" and receive a zero. He is really hard but really fair. He really does love what he teaches. Plus you get listen to his laugh.
Avoid at all costs if you aren't a math/engineering major as it's geared towards that in mind. If you need this for another path, DO NOT take this guy. He teaches his own methods to solving things which is fine, but you need to be an expert in a lot of stuff going into his class. You need thick skin in his lectures. Avoid unless necessary!
This is a tough class for math majors. You will learn more in this class than any other class I have taken on campus but be ready to give up your social life. He truly is brilliant so don't kill yourself with "bad algebra" or by not memorizing his worksheets the first week for they will save your butt. I recommend taking his class
Muleshkov is brilliantly powerful and his course is very difficult to capture - just like a legendary Pokemon. Your feelings will be hurt because you are bad at math. Muleshkov will help you be good at math - that's his only goal. If you want an easy grade, don't take him. If you want to learn, take him and engage with a spirit of inquiry.
Anyone who wants to learn what real math looks like should take him. Genious of a man with superior methods to solve all sorts of problems. Be prepare to realize how bad you were at math before, you will laugh when you see what kind of problems other classes do. ONLY take if you're serious about learning!!!
I dropped his class mid semester in order to save my GPA from his wrath. His "homemade" methods are great but since he created them you can't find it in a textbook, thus if you miss something or misinterpret information your pretty much strewed. Brilliant guy, but he goes to fast, and has provides no notes making this class a living hell.
he is an amazing professor. Every his method DOES make a sense and you cannot even compare them with stupid calc txtbook. If you want to learn, I suggest his class; but if you want to get an easy grade, you should not. You HAVE to listen to him, memorize his handout and take rly good note, then you will be fine. (you need strong algebra skill tho)
Muleshkov is the easiest teacher ever. Handwriting is clear. He has no accent. Test are extremely easy just like the hw. And the hw takes only a few minutes to do. If you want an easy A take his class. But the only problem is that you don't learn much math. :')rofl lol jk. had him for 431 and 432. oh the memories. His class is your new life.Enjoy!
Extremely Difficult Class, definitely will take up all your time. Listen to Dr. Muleshkov! Take careful notes and you will get by, Best Math Professor I ever had, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You will learn real math.
No, i don't think his class is easy, and also it is not easy A. You don't need a textbook for his class, because he teaches you his own method. (well you need a book to do hw). He would be best or worst prof that you ever had. You "listen" to him and "study" his lecture. Make sure you study everyday, you will pass this class.
Best math teacher I've ever had the honor of taking. Very difficult but worth it, everyone who has completed one of his courses is stronger for it.
He is the best professor I've had. You will either love him or hate him. He teaches his own methods and does not use the book. He makes things much less complicated. After taking his classes I realized the book was ridiculous.
Muleshkov is hands-down one of the best math teachers in UNLV. He has a unique teaching method, but only effective if you're willing to learn. Fair grader. Strong on logic and algebra. I used to think I was great at algebra until I took this class. May sound condescending at times, but it's not on purpose. Easily approachable and very friendly.
To pass this class you must memorize the handout. Dedicate time into memorizing and understanding it. Took this class twice because he went too fast for me the first time. Take good notes, compare with other students, and study with others. Seek for help and dedicate time to learn. That's the key to passing this class. Overall great experience. (:
He is the best professor that I have ever taken. I regret not taking him for more classes. If you want to see how math should be taught take Muleshkov.
He's one of the best professors that I've ever had. You get to learn something in his class. The best teacher at UNLV that I've encountered. He's very nice and funny. Just make sure to follow his lectures and you will be fine!
Dr. Muleshkov's class is not easy. his classes are for a serious student who wants to learn Math, not just for getting credits and pass. It could be very difficult if you don't have good knowledge from trig and pre-calc. He is one of the toughest professor in UNLV. If you are math or engineering major, I recomend you to take his class and learn :)
You WILL scrub out if you don't pay attention in class. You can't just skim by; either you memorize the handouts and learn and understand integration or you don't. He is for the student that is serious about his math knowledge. If you apply yourself and study, you will be able to crush any other non-Muleshkov student in integration, guaranteed.
You must attend class to have any hope of passing the class. His methods are far better than anything the textbook teaches you. Probably the quirkiest, funniest, and best math teacher I've ever had. You have to pay attention and take notes on what Muleshkov teaches during lectures because he won't write them down on the board for you.
The worst professor at UNLV if you can take anyone else do it. He is a terrible teacher who will belittle you for asking a question. He will go on rants that do not relate to math what so ever and wast time. He thinks he is the smartest person in the world when it comes to math but makes countless mistakes on the bored and acts like its no big deal
He is notorious for being the toughest Calculus professor at UNLV. There is a reason to that. He is very knowledgeable and wants his students to learn. I felt his class to be easy because he explains materials well. His quizzes and tests are all based on the lecture, and tests are based on quizzes. If you are math major, take his classes!
NO NO NO NO NO..... DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS..... WORST PROFESSOR
He is a terrible teacher and if you actually want to learn math DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! He is very rude and condescending when you ask questions. He skips many steps on the board makes countless mistakes, but still acts like he knows everything and gives attitude to everyone. He brags about the number of students that drop his class as a accomplishment.
Dr. Muleshkov made me love math. His class is extremely difficult. Memorize his handouts, write down EVERYTHING he says, follow what he does, and you'll be golden. If you're struggling, ask Tan, and his students. Students who fail don't seek help. Not for easy A, but you will become amazing and destroy other students in calculus. 10/10
Calc 3 with Muleshkov is quite the marathon. It's definitely tough and you will have to study after every lecture. Tan is brilliant and will answer any question you may have. His Calc 2 class is a cakewalk compared to this, and even Muleshkov states that the Calc 3 final is the hardest of all his classes. Just study, do the hw, and youll pass.
Muleshkov is not a teacher you want to take if you have other options. He does a terrible job at explaining things and makes you remember 8 pages of formulas. He brags about the amount of students that drop his class so if you dont want to retake math DO NOT take him you will regret every second that you are in his class.
Dr. Muleshkov does a good job of explaining concepts and teaching simpler ways to do certain integrations. Although I do not agree with not graphing during chapter 7 but if you listen to how he explains his reasoning he makes perfect sense. If you want a great math professor take him.
Prof. Muleshkov's class is extremely difficult, but you learn a lot. He teaches a lot of practical methods for solving problems, and he assigns the hardest problems possible for homework and tests. This is not a bad thing in itself. However, he is not a very reasonable person, and he'll make you feel stupid for asking questions in class.
Take him if you want to learn calculus properly. Participate often for free points, study well for each discussion quiz, memorize the formula sheet, take GOOD notes (ask for notes from other students if you need to), take his homework seriously and do it in his steps, not the book's. Dr. Muleshkov and Tan are truly brilliant.
Dr. Muleshkov is a tough professor but he knows what he is talking about. If you want to actually learn math than take him but it requires a lot of effort to get a good grade. You must pay attention in class and take good notes because the way he does things differs from whats in the textbook.
I took this class because I needed the credit and heard he was a good professor, what I didn't know was how hot he was. He gives great lectures and knows what he's talking about while also being easy on the eyes. You'll want to go to every lecture and all his office hours just so you can look at him. You must work for him to get an A.
Dr. Muleshkov is hard but I've learned more in this Elementary Complex Analysis class than my peers have in there Math 432 class (The engineering version of this class). He is also a pretty cool dude and pretty accessible in his office hours.
Just want to add: my work ethic should've been better so it's not always the Prof's fault. Even at this level, material is just very hard. When we got to "polar coordinates" final part, I think everyone failed. He rushed through it to cover everything but did not really teach that part. Would rather have the original Prof (changed last second)
An extremely hard class. I dont know how people keep up in this class
It seems as though he does not care about students. It felt like he would make fun of students with wrong answers and with low grades. It felt like he doesn't want the students to succeed and learn. He tried to cover way too much material than we had time for, which meant we learned about some material solely through emails.
Half of the test materials were not even covered in class. We had to learn them on our own. His tests are so long and hard. However, 50% is a C in this class, which is doable. You must have a solid foundation in order to succeed in his class.
I took his calc 3 since I took his calc 2. It's not deniable that he grades hard, but you'll be a lot knowledgeable after you take his class. He is the one who truly cares about students. The environment of the class was awesome. 50% in his class is a C, which means that he is nice. If you don't go to Friday Discussions, be ready to messed up.
If you do not see yourself as that great at math, this class will be a huge struggle. It seems the people better at math learned a lot while those not-so-great at math were confused and were just trying to survive. So if you feel you need the math knowledge and can handle it, absolutely take him, you can learn a lot. Otherwise stay away. Too tough.
Take this class if you actually care to learn Calc II. It is very difficult but Muleshkov provides many additional resources outside of the classroom. Muleshkov keeps in close contact with his teaching assistant which is really helpful. He also offers supplemental instruction during the week. Muleshkov has a great spirit and teaching philosophy.
Hes an okay professor. He uses his own methods instead of book. Only two exams and weekly hw and quizzes. He told us to not study a couple hours before midterm but he was teaching stuff on MIDTERM DAY. attendance is mandatory. If you miss something from lectures welp too bad :/. I would recommend choosing a different professor. STAY AWAY FROM HIM
Muleshkov is so bad he has to have a TA and an SI. He doesn't care about students. Do not take him. He has his own ways of doing EVERYTHING. Admittedly SOME of his ways are easier, most are very non-traditional and is very hard to transition into and out of if you end up taking a different teacher later.
Dr. Muleshkov is a great professor with a lot of knowledge- a knowledge he is really proud of teaching his students. In his class you will learn a lot of many things you have not even imagined, but do not doubt his class is very hard. His class has pushed my math knowledge extensively-his class has made me a better student and a better engineer.
His instruction was not particularly clear nor was it linear. He would become frustrated when students did not participate, as well if they answered his questions incorrectly, and he would proceed to belittle the class in both instances. His class became significantly easier after the pandemic when everything switched online.
Dr. Muleshkov is an extremely intelligent man who is extremely bad at lecturing. He somehow made Calc 3(which was supposedly supposed to be easier than Calc 2) way harder than it should've been. I learned nearly nothing throughout the course. His TA's are actually what carries the class and the only reason I put 2/5 rather than 1/5. Choose another.
Dr. Muleshkov spends too much time being upset with students and going off topic that he runs out of time. His lectures can become so unorganized and hard to make sense of. Incredibly difficult material is crammed in up to the last minute before exams, making it nigh impossible to be prepared. This is an advanced course for advanced students only.
Muleshkov gives barely any partial credit, and he uses his own theorems when teaching. Honestly, this class is better for math majors. He is very difficult to understand and goes off on tangents a lot of the time. If you do not feel confident in your math skills avoid him at all costs, your grades will suffer. Professor Leonard can only do so much.
hardest course I have taken. More than half of what was on the final was given to us to memorize a week before finals on a scanned handwritten pdf. Always goes off topic in lecture to tell 'jokes' or just berate the class for not answering his trick questions. would be better if organized notes/lectures were given. requires max effort or stay away.
Muleshkov teaches in a way that is very hard to follow. He solves problems on the board and expects us to remember everything he says. His accent also makes it hard to understand what he is saying. The course is also unorganized, with all homeworks, quizzes, and exams not having set dates in the syllabus.
Muleshkov is very smart but bad at teaching. He yells at the class for not participating, rushes teaching topics, and overall its very hard to take notes and learn. The course is very unorganized, and its hard to catch up if you miss a class or something he says. He also argued with a student in my class who asked a simple question. Unprofessional.
Worst Professor I've ever encountered. Hard to understand. Holds the answers above his students head until someone blurts it out and you've forgotten 5 minutes later. He's 75 years old and senile. Explains what it means to be an engineer every class period even though he's only taught math for 50 years straight and has never been an engineer.
Dr Muleshkov can be hard to understand, but if you get used to him he's actually very knowledgeable and he will make you better at math. Definitely a hard course though. But if you show up to lecture and are diligent with studying you'll have no problem.
The class is tough, but Muleshkov provides good resources like TAs and supplemental instruction. While his teaching style can be unorganized, using Unstuck AI and the textbook helped me stay on top of the challenging material. Overall, a rewarding class if you put in the work.
Professor Muleshkov is clearly amazing at mathamatics. his methods are insightful, intersting, and overall can be easier than the common ones. I just wish he would teach them to you. It gets better after integrals, but overall he refuses to teach well. I had to rely on his GA most of the time to learn what the hell he was talking about. AVOID.
He was easier than expected despite the reviews. However, he doesn't follow the book, making it mostly unnecessary except for reading. Old notes helped with resources. Homework was few, quizzes were easy if prepared. Exams felt rushed—not hard but too long for two hours, testing speed over understanding. Overall, manageable and easy but fast-paced.
He is tough but fair. Work hard
He does not teach by the book and will often say how you wont find his strategies anywhere. He asks trick questions just for the fun of it. Often he will forget what he is doing, or go on rants about random things. The information is heavy and slow, you wont get through all of calc 3. On the plus side, when he gets excited he may do a little dance.
He likes to do his own thing. If you're ahh at algebra, take a different professor.
Muleshkov has a very strong, specific system for teaching Calc 2, but it's definitely not for everyone. Memorize his handouts and you'll be fine. He sometimes gets off task and goes on tangents in class and during exams, but his GA Julian makes up for it in his generous grading and thorough discussion
