Shes an awesome Prof, and she's young so she can relate to us as students
she is a great prof. She is very helpful if you have any questions -- definately approachable. You will do fine on the tests as long as you go to class for the examples in your notes and do the suggested homework problems.
She is really helpful. If you ever need anything or have any questions she is there to help. As long as you go to class and take notes you should be fine.
She is awesome, I loved her class and her. She is the best professor so far at A&M, if you have to take this class, do take it with her, you won't regret it, she is so nice that makes everything easy for the whole class. You take quizzes, which are straight out of from the homework, and tests are not hard at all compared to other professors.
Mrs. Allen is the best math teacher you will ever have. Period. She's beautiful, friendly, extremely smart, and made this subject (which is basically a weed out course) one that I enjoyed going to. She will stop at nothing to help you. She learns everyone's names, and she explained the subject unbelievably clear. Take Mrs. Allen. Bottom Line.
Awesome Prof... really great
She is one of the greatest lecturer I have ever seen. Although the class is not easy, you can still get an A if you study and go to her office hour. She is really nice and hot. One thing I like about her is that she really cares about you. She will try the best to help you if you ask for help.
I would absolutely recommend Ms. Allen to anyone, and would take another class from her in a heartbeat!!! She really goes out of her way for students, and thoroughly enjoys teaching math. It's clear that she loves helping students, and loves her job. This class is incredibly rough, but I love Ms. Allen!
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Allen. I am by NO means a math person, but she made the class enjoyable and understandable. She's sweet as can be, and it's a joy being taught by her.
Ms. Allen is the best. So nice and so funny. Class is tough but definitely possible especially with such a great teacher!
Mrs. Allen is a great professor. It's refreshing to get a prof who really wants to see their students succeed and gives them every opportunity to do so. Even though attendance is not mandatory, you need to go for the notes and clicker quizzes.
She is a GREAT professor. Extremely nice, approachable, and is always willing to help. This class is very difficult, but she makes the material much more clear and easy to understand. Highly recommend her.
Allen is an awesome professor. She fills the notes in with you and takes questions and everything. Shes not foreign, jokes around, and her tests aren't impossible. Just go to her week-in reviews or at least look over the answer key for tests.
She is great. I am not a math person and I made an A. Go to the week in reviews and do all your homework. She makes everything make sense. She even dropped 4 hw grades and replaced the lowest test grade with the final if it helped.
Easily the best prof I've ever had. She's super helpful, and teaches well. I had dropped this class 2 times prior to taking it with her, and she was a lifesaver. Go to the week in review and an A isn't out of the question.
This woman is possibly the sweetest woman you will ever meet in your life. I can't help but feel she is so adorable, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her students. Her exams can be kind of rough, mainly because of conceptual stuff, but she's more than willing to help! Not to mention she's not bad to look at either.
Dr. Allen is wonderful. She is young, and very kind. She truly wants her students to succeed, and will do everything she can to help. She also curves the test (a lot). TAKE HER!
Extremely difficult class. Professor Allen is unclear and has very high expectations. Many students have to Q-Drop (she had a 60% Q-Drop rate Spring 2013). I got outside tutoring and spent over 14 hours a week on this class and still got a B. DON'T TAKE ANGELA ALLEN!!!
Allen was a great professor, however her exams are extremely difficult. She curved every exam and the final grade. Although despite that I ended up failing. Go to her WIR sessions and office hours and do all the homework assignments and you should be able to pass. The exams were multiple choice and the other profs are work out questions.
Professor Allen is by far the best professor I've had at A&M. She is SOOO willing to help you and takes time to remember names if you make an effort to go to her. The workload isn't bad at all & she really prepares you for the tests so that they're a walk through the park. She is BY FAR the best calculus professor here. & she's super nice!
Professor Allen is by far the best professor I've had at A&M. She is SOOO willing to help you and takes time to remember names if you make an effort to go to her. Best teacher I have ever had at A&M. If you have to take 131 or 142 take her class. She is super helpful and attentive. It is not an easy class though, so just be prepared to actually do work.
Prof Allen is amazing. You can ask her any question in class. She loves to clarify anything you have questions on. She is easy to talk to, very laid back, and she wants nothing more than for her students to succeed. Get to know her, go to her office hours, she will help you as much as you need. I would recommend her 110%!!
This class was super difficult. However, Angela Allen has been one of the most helpful math teacher I have ever had. You definitely have to study for the test but as long as you do the week in reviews over and over and go to her office hours she will be willing to help you as much as possible.
Allen has been my favorite professor this semester! The material isn't easy but she cares about her students and will do what she can to help you pass! Look at the week-in-reviews and you're golden for the tests!
She can go through the notes pretty quickly, but she'll stop and explain something if you ask. She's a really sweet person and keeps it interesting. Her tests are different from the homework and the quizzes though. Study!!
This is a tough course. However, professor is AMAZING and she helps you as much as she possibly can. It's a tough course but if you put in the work and she's sees that she is more than willing to help. I would recommend her any day. LOVE her! (oh yea sit at the front and talk to her in the beginning of class)
Allen was the best professor I've ever had by far! Uses web assign for homework (drops 4 lowest), weekly quizzes (drops one), 3 tests (usually curves), one cumulative final. I'll most likely fail calculus, but that's because I'm horrid at math. She has the most incredible passion for students DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO TAKE Allen!
Allen is a wonderful teacher who will stop to help if you do not understand something or have questions. The test are tough and I recommend you do every week in review to prepare for them. She does give a generous curve on the test when students don't do well. I bombed my final and 23 test and somehow managed to get a B in her class!! Take Allen!!
Prof Allen was a great professor! Although the class is very difficult and a majority of the students failed the first test, Prof Allen gave us extra credit on every test and final. I got a 52 on the first test and was able to finish with an A by the end of the semester. WORK HER WEEK-IN REVIEWS. Majority of test questions come straight from them.
She is awesome! By far the best math professor I've had at A&M! Go to her office hours, she is very helpful. She will help you with homework, and give you advice about the tests.
Dr. Allen is such a nice professor, but she is tough! Her tests are mostly "concepts" rather than math. She is always there to help you with any questions you may have. She gives extra information about what is on the test at office hours. Do the week in Reviews! She pulls some test questions straight from those. She offers some bonus on exams.
The material is difficult but she is an amazing prof who is always there for you if you need help! Her week-in-reviews are the best ways to prepare for the exams. There is a lot of homework but try to get good grades on them because they will help your grade in the class. She is probably the best professor to take Math 142 from at Texas A&M.
Most difficult thing about the class is that the tests don't include much math and are more focused around concepts. Homework is truly easy but nothing close to the level on the tests. Would not recommend this professor if you are expecting to legitimately do math. Going to lectures provides notes, but the notes won't help prepare you for tests.
Professor Allen, is probably the best person to take MATH 142 with. Her tests are at least 75% conceptual, so please know how to work everyone problem from start to answer, detailing how everything fits into that problem. Definitely not a blow off class, but if you like hands on respectful professors who actually help, take her. She is awesome.
Had I known what to study for the first test I would've been alright. We had a test the day after thanksgiving break and that hurt a lot of people. She said the final would be all "work-out" type problems but there was still a lot of concept so that sucked but she gives lot of extra credit and I honestly learned more from her than I did in hs calc.
Dr. Allen was honestly the best math teacher I've ever had. Shes such a nice woman, and genuinely cares about the success of her students. The subject is hard (I mean it is calculus), but if you do the homework, study, and actually work for it, you'll do well. She offers so many tutoring opportunities that really it would be your fault if you fail.
Professor Allen isn't your typical professor. She's younger and has a more entertaining less stuffy lecture style. She'll laugh at herself. I have two tips for anyone taking her. 1) When you take her 50 minute classes, she has to cram a lot into the time, so take her in the longer time slot. 2) Talk to her! she curved my 87 to an A at the end.
I would highly recommend Mrs. Allen. She is very kind, funny, and wants you to succeed. She gives exam reviews the class before a test which is nice. She also gives 2 bonus questions and 1 gimme question (ex: should you come to class?) per exam. I made a 105 on the first test. The only thing I didn't like is that she goes pretty fast.
I'm not good at math, and I knew that coming into the class, so it was pretty difficult for me, but definitely not impossible. I didn't totally bomb the tests, thanks to Professor Allen. She really does teach well and clearly. I had the 75 minute long classes, and normally I feel totally dead after those, but she actually kept me awake.
Allen is easily the best professor I've had at Texas A&M. She takes a difficult class and explains it well, is incredibly helpful, and truly cares about her students learning. She curves each test a significant amount and tells you the best way to study for each test beforehand. Overall, I probably would've failed MATH142 if I hadn't had her.
I didn't take calculus before and had to Q drop... tests were very conceptual... Not a lot of numbers
Professor Allen was probably the best math professor that I've ever had. That being said, the class itself is just pretty difficult. Three tests, each worth 20%, plus HW worth 15%, and a Final worth 25%. She does curve the tests and the class. Does a phenomenal job teaching the material, the material is just hard. Great prof!
Allen is a good teacher. Almost too good, she actually gets very annoying trying to force you to participate in everything she says, she will repeats everything ten million times. Then she actually doesn't even put those things on the test. Her test are more difficult than she leads on but overall she's a good teacher. I made an 89 without trying..
Dr. Allen is a great professor. The tests are very tricky and difficult, but its a very manageable class. She tries her best to prepare you in every way for each test, and is very fair. She genuinely cares about each students success and will help you figure out what you need to do to get through the class.
Prof Allen did a great job explaining concepts in class. She made calculus not so awful. It was clear she wanted her students to succeed and she was readily available if you needed help. If you want to be successful in this class, her Week in Review sessions were incredibly helpful. All around, great prof, great class. Highly recommend.
She's a very outgoing and bubbly person, and a fantastic professor. I'm not a math person and she made it to where even I could understand and not fall asleep. She's extremely nice and is willing to go above and beyond for her students. Tests aren't bad because she tells you exactly what to study and expect. Best math professor I've ever had.
Kindest prof I have ever had. Her lectures are perfectly clear, if you do everything she asks of you, you should do great. She gives extra credit but I wouldn't always count on it. Great prof if you are learning Calc for the first time.
I had never taken calculus before taking Prof Allen's class, but thanks to her specific and extremely helpful lectures, I got an A. She genuinely cares about her students, and while calculus isn't an easy class, she makes it so much more tolerable and doable. She also curves very generously. If you're taking MATH 142, take it with her!!
Angela is a wonderful woman! She is very nice and really cares for her students. This is a very difficult course, but she helps dumb it down for you. She gives exam reviews before each exam and they are extremely helpful! She doesn't take attendance but you definitely need to go to be able to pass.
Allen was a really great teacher for a sometimes confusing subject. She did a wonderful job of breaking down the material and making it understandable. She's also really approachable and helpful when you have questions. Just follow the examples in class and do a bit a practice at home and you've got it
Allen is the best math professor I've ever had. She is so nice and makes the lectures as fun as possible. She is so sweet and approachable. The tests are pretty difficult but she makes calculus as fun as possible.
Even though it was a hard class, I love Mrs. Allen so much. Somehow she knew my name out of 300 students even though I never introduced myself. She really cares about her students and loves math. She spent so much time with me in office hours helping me with weekly online homework. Tests were open ended, so she gave partial credit.
I loved Allen, and would recommend her to anyone taking Math 142. She's the best. The class material was difficult, but if you go to class and do the homework you should be able to figure everything out. The final was cumulative, but it replaced your lowest test grade. If you study the notes and work the week in reviews, you should do just fine!
This class is hard, but Dr. Allen is aware of that and tries her best to make students succeed. Just focus on what she tells you to study on and do the Week In Reviews and you will be fine.
Prof Allen is super sweet and really wants you to do well. She has office/TA hours every day for help and did Week-In-Reviews which honestly saved my grade. The tests are straightforward and the WIR help alot. Go to class, study the notes, practice the problems and you'll be fine.
It's calculus so it was hard, but she's a good lecturer. Her notes are well laid out and the homework is relevant. She does make it out like her exams will be easier than they are though! So study hard. She curves at the end, but we never found out exactly how much. She offers bonus on the exams depending on the class average but don't count on it.
Dr. Allen is very caring and is very good at explaining the material. It is a very tough class but she makes it bearable, probably the best prof for this course at A&M. Definitely take advantage of her week in reviews, practice homework, and help sessions.
Nicest teacher ever. She made this super hard class so much easier through her clarity of teaching. She also gives a lot of bonus points each test. Having her as a teacher made this class so much better. 10/10 would recommend. (the first month of class was difficult, but it gets easier)
Some people don't Allen - those are the ones on their phones or asleep in class and, you guessed, with bad grades. She really cares about her students and lectures from a perspective of the student so she's patient and goes slow on what she knows is hard for students to learn at first. No Math is easy so choose your prof wisely bros
She's a great professor and really understands the situations her students are in. Our tests were always curved to make the average a 75 and she would also give extra credit opportunity if scores were low. Overall I highly recommend.
The tests are crazy, but the homework isn't bad. You cannot skip class because she only sends blank notes without answers. You have to pay attention and put in work to pass. Her TA's are not helpful, but she is very kind and patient. If you can get ahold of her, she will help you with anything. She is very easy to follow while lecturing.
Professor Allen was by far one of the best math professors I have ever had. Her lectures were concise and she told you what you needed to know for exams. If you want to do well on her exams it is highly recommended you go to Week in review sessions, the problems she goes through are test level. All of my exams had some form of a curve.
Great teacher. Tough class but if you put the work in and do homework and work week in reviews before the tests you will do well. Ms. Allen is a great professor and I'm very glad I had her for calc.
Dr. Allen is a great teacher. She is very helpful and has lots of office hours and week-in-reviews for help. Tests are multiple choice and curved. Difficult material but she makes it easier.
Allen is a very caring professor and wants you to pass! She is very fair in grades and makes calculus as easy as possible!
Mrs. Allen is so great! I took this class in the Summer, so it was very fast paced. She really is a kind and caring person, and she does her best to help you in any way she can. All tests were curved slightly, and the final class grade was curved significantly! Don't bank on the curve though. Work hard and communicate; very approachable!!!!
I took Math 142 in the summer and LOVED her. I've never gotten an A in a math course until this one. She made math click for me and tried to make the material as easy as possible. I reccomend going to her office hours as she makes an effort to remember your name and who you are and how you learn. Really cares about the material and her students.
Professor Allen is amazing! She offers lots of tutoring at different hours if you need help with homework. Her exams are multiple choice and she offers extra credit! Even though math is not my best subject I really enjoyed coming to her class.
Professor Allen was awesome! I had a lot going on that semester so I didn't do too well, but I had PLENTY of opportunities. Between her office hours and tutoring sessions with the TAs, there was a lot of outside help.
This class is difficult don't get me wrong, but Allen is wonderful and super nicr and really does her best to help you understand. She works things out step by step which is very helpful. About 2-3 Web Assign home-works a week, a little difficult, but they help for the tests. Help sessions are great for W.A. Week in reviews are key in this class.
Prof Allen genuinely cares about her students, despite the class being hard. It is a lot of work, but she is a great teacher.
This is a very difficult class especially for people who did not take calculus in high school. With that being said, Professor Allen does an amazing job teaching this class, she does everything that she can to prepare her students in the best way possible. She is a very nice lady and clearly cares about her students.
She's a really good prof but the class itself is difficult. There are other easier profs. She goes too fast in explaining and you have to go to class to get the notes cause she doesn't post them. Exams are challenging but if you STUDY then you should be fine.
Very nice lady who seems to genuinely care about her students. Her passion and vivacity is clearly obvious and it translates to her teaching. The class isn't too hard, just do the week in reviews and stay on top of your work, go to every class. If you have taken cal AB from High School the class is essentially the same thing.
I didn't have Mrs. Allen as a professor, however she taught our "week-in-reviews" and she was SUPER helpful at explaining the material, best math professor I have ever learned from. I had a friend taker her 142 class and it was pretty tough, but show up to class and she will help so much! There were a few curves as well. Great Professor.
Math is by far my worst subject, and this professor did everything to help me pass the class. She really cares about her students and will help you tremendously if you take time to go to office hours and ask questions. One of the best professors on campus
She is the nicest and most caring professor I have had. She simplifies difficult concepts and answers all of your questions. Calculus is hard, so you have to work hard and go to office hours because they are there to help you. Go to class you will or you will struggle!
Prof Allen is a fantastic professor, She explains principles of calculus in a way that can be understood by someone on any level. Although her classes are large if you ask for help she is more than happy explain concepts. If you go to class and do the homework this class is an easy A.
Prof Allen is really nice, but her class is ridiculous. Theres no more week in review sessions, but exams are based off the old week in reviews not any homework or in class work you do- and they're way harder. She makes it seem like she's making it easier for u but she works problems out with the most complicated process & tests u on the process
I had already earned credit for Calculus in high school, but I found this class doable for anyone who shows up. Online homework is given every week and the tests have bonus questions and usually extra credit. Professor Allen is just an overall caring and funny person and she really works hard to make sure everyone understands and enjoys the class!
nicest prof I've had. very caring, very good at teaching, and give A LOT of extra credit. She gives LOTS of resources, so use them. There's a week in review thing, that is VERY helpful. And homework help sessions during the week that were at Blocker. take the class and the hw seriously! I could've gotten a better grade if I utilized my resources
if you could take business calculus somewhere else. do it. Math itself is easy and Allen knows it so she makes her harder by making you learn it her way. Her test are literally concepts and she finds ways to make you avoid shortcuts. DO NOT TAKE HER. She appears to be nice which she is but her tests are difficult.
Professor Allen is so sweet!! Her office hours are super helpful as well! She takes clicker quizzes, so you need to go to class, but she makes class interesting and as exciting as she can math be! Her and Kilmer are both incredible! Her tests are difficult, but she is willing to review them with you, so you can understand why you missed something.
Ms. Allen is a great professor who really wants her students to succeed. The class is hard but she offers extra credit on the tests and writes out notes for each section. There's two or three Webassings due per week.
Professor Allen clearly wants her students to succeed. She does everything she can to gives us resources for an A. This includes curves, easy extra credit, and very specific notes and study guides. If you haven't taken Calculus before, do yourself a favor and come to class. Also, DO THE HOMEWORK. it will save you
Super nice prof! I am awful at math and she made it easy to understand. She tells you exactly what to study and what to expect on the tests, & the tests are exactly like the class work. She curves & gives extra credit. There are clicker quizzes every class but they are often T/F & you get credit for just showing up
She cares & wants you to learn. 2nd test is way harder than the others. Im terrible at math & I hate it, but she made it tolerable. Clicker quizzes arent bad, get points just for doing them. HW doesnt really help w/test. SHES A GOOD PROF, I just wouldnt take this class again. Very little EC. if you arent good at math, try to take something else.
She is very passionate about her subject, this helped make her lectures enjoyable.
She is literally the best professor I have ever had at A&M. I have never taken calculus before and thought it would be hard. While the course material is difficult at times, she is an amazing teacher and supplies a lot of help. She also does many things to help boost your grade so don't get scared. 10/10 would recommend, she is great.
Honestly the best math professor I have ever had. It is not a particularly easy course, but she explains stuff very well. She tests very heavily on concepts which was hard to get used to. She began clicker quizzes this semester, so you kinda have to go.
Take Allen 100%. This is a hard class but she curves every test and provides extra credit opportunities. Final also replaces lowest test grade. You could have a C test avg (before the curve) and get an A in the class, she drops your lowest test. Only possible negatives are mandatory attendance and weekly homework that can sometimes take a while.
Professor Allen is amazing. She truly cares about her students. I unfortunately had to drop the class due to the fact that I couldn't absorb the material fast enough, but she did an amazing job at explaining it well. I will be taking an online class over the summer. She really did try to make sure that her students did well and was always positive.
If you're thinking about taking her class, do it! You won't regret it. She always has such a great attitude and she genuinely cares about her students. There is also a lot of curving, depending on the class average.
If you have to take a math class, take it with Allen! I'm a liberal arts major and was so worried about even passing MATH 142 but with Professor Allen and her TA's help I ended up making a B! The class is hard, but taking it with Allen makes it bearable.
She is a fantastic teacher!! She tries so hard to help every student and she is very personal and she really cares for her students. I love her so much! I wish I could have her as a prof again!
Professor Allen has been my favorite professor of college so far. If I could take her every semester I would. She is so kind and you can tell she really cares about her students and she does everything possible in order for you to succeed in her class. The material is challenging but she teaches it in such a simple way that is easy to understand.
Allen is the sweetest prof ever. I am typically good at math, however I really disliked her style of teaching - it worked for some, but it was not a traditional way of teaching math and I didnt understand often. This caused me to struggle, but she curves a lot and offers help. She is one of the better options for calculus Definitely go to class.
Easiest math class I've ever taken. Calculus can be a little tricky, but Allen teaches this class as if we were in middle school and breaks everything down. She is very generous when giving out extra credit. She does in class clicker questions, so go to class. Drops 4 lowest quiz grades and 4 lowest homeworks.
I typically do well in math classes. This class was harder than previous I've taken at A&M, but I assumed it would be since it's calculus. Allen's tests are concept heavy, but she tells you before the test what to be prepared for and is very, very generous with extra credit. If you have the option to take her, I recommend it.
Dr. Allen is a great professor. She seems to genuinely care about how the students do and is willing to offer a ton of help to improve grades. As long as you print out the lecture notes, show up, and do the homework, you'll walk away with at least a B. The final was very fair and replaced the lowest of the 3 exam grades.
I love Prof. Allen! She is so nice, but nice doesn't get you the grade. You will have to put in the work. I am pretty good at math but I didn't study like I should have, yikes. Tests were really not that bad you just really have to put in the work. I lived at TA tutoring and study hub tutoring. They help so much with homework and faster than alone.
I found this class to be extremely easy with no calculus background. She curves every test and the tests are honestly not that difficult, just concept heavy. Go to office hours if you need help. Allen is extremely helpful and caring. If you put in time to study, an A is not unheard of.
I took pre-calculus junior year of high school, so it had literally been 4 years since I'd been exposed to calculus. This class was difficult, but I was in her office hours twice a week which SAVED ME. After curves, I made a C, B, C in order of exam. The curves ranged from 6 to 12 points. Final replaced lowest exam and this saved me bc I made an A!
Prof. Allen is one of the best profs Ive taken at A&M! Super helpful if you have questions, and works through the material on a step by step basis to help everyone understand. More than willing to help struggling students outside of class. Truly sweet lady who cares deeply about her students. Her summer class can move fast but its very worth it!
Very sweet professor and makes an effort to get to know the students, yet during class no questions are really asked towards the students. Exams are highly difficult you must study study study study for them. Webassign homework helps, but she suggests reworking class questions as better practice for exams. Final replaces lowest test grade.
Hardest class ever. But, She's the best Prof. I've ever had. She's very nice and will be completely honest. She's more of a friend than a professor.
This lady is SO SWEET and really cares for students. I struggled through this class. I hired a tutor and begged her for help multiple times. This subject is hard in general so you should at least help yourself by taking her. Many people made easy A's, but the subject can be more difficult for non-math people. Tests were harder than the homework.
She is the best math teacher I have had in a LONG time. She is so sweet curves all of the tests and will even round your grade a bit at the end of the semester. The TA's are very helpful with the homework. This is a hard class but as long as you do what she tells you to study & get help when your confused you should be fine.
Hardest class I have ever taken. Even more so than anatomy. She was a great professor but she talks way too fast and uses difficult examples to teach us a new topic every time. Lots of weekly homework that does not relate to the exams. She curves 6-12 pts. Still does not help the fact that the class average was a 58% on the second exam. Q dropped!
Professor Allen is a great person on the fact that she cares about her students, but her tests are the worst thing you could think of. There is no correlation between her test and the homework. The test is basically concept questions with difficult test questions. She makes the class like a graduate course. DONT TAKE HER
Took her for the summer and thought she did an amazing job explaining a difficult subject. I had a bad prof for Math 141 and as a result I thought this math was much easier. She's very pleasant and if you do the homework and rework the problems from class, the tests aren't that bad
She's a really good teacher I just wish I could have more individual attention from her but her office hours are always booked and I can't make it to most of the TA's office hours. I need extra help because I suck at math but she is a good professor and gives extra credit! Make sure to go to class every time though because of the clicker quizzes.
I love Professor Allen. She actually cares about her students and how they do in the class, which you don't see often. If you go to class/office hours you will get a good grade. Don't fall behind because everything builds off of previous information.
This class was so hard. I understand that it is calculus and it is going to be hard, but I studied my butt off for all exams exactly the way she told us to and used week in reviews and A Plus and still failed the exams miserably. She does calculus "her way" and has her own rules for how you have to solve her problems.
Professor Allen is the best professor I've ever had. She truly cares about each one of her students and wants you to get the highest grade possible. I've never been good at math and this class is not the easiest, but she explains everything super clearly and makes calc seem simple. Go to the Week in review sessions and go to class always!
Angela Allen is a great math professor, but this is the hardest class I've ever taken. I've never cried so much over homework. This class took a small part of me with it that I will never get back. I pulled all-nighters for every single test, yet somehow managed to fail 2/3 tests. But with the help of some curving I think I ended up with a B.
Not sure why all these bad reviews are here. I'm not good at math but Dr. Allen is an honest gem, she's SO caring. This is a hard class but she helps you so much. DO THE WIR THEY ARE JUST LIKE THE TEST (difficulty wise, some problems are pulled from there too!!) Office hours saved my life with the class also! TAKE HER SHE'S SO HELPFUL AND KIND! :)
Allen is GREAT! Her class is really hard if you haven't taken any kind of calc before, but she cares so much about her students and is a really good teacher. Go to her week in reviews and office hours.
She is the best professor I have ever taken at TAMU! She teaches things in such an easy way and gives you a step by step on how to solve the problems, it's almost taught like an elementary school class. It is calculus you need to pay attention and go to class! DO NOT SKIP! Do the reviews she posts and you'll be fine. Plus she's nice and funny :)
Easily the best prof Ive had at A&M. Especially a math prof. The class can be difficult but she wants to help and make sure you do good. Her office hours can make you feel so much better about the material, so go! In class, she makes sure to explain everything as thoroughly as possible, and shes really good at preparing you for whats on the exam
Dr. Allen is awesome!! Best teacher I've ever had. Math can be hard to comprehend but she teaches very clearly and is willing to help anyone, and she holds a LOT of office hours. two HW assn. every week and 3 tests with a final. Would take this class again if I could, I wish she could teach every subject.
She curves like crazy so you just need to hit the average and you should end up with a C. Very nice and understanding. Really wants you to succeed even with the hard material. Solid choice.
UGHHHH I wish this woman taught every class at TAMU. I have never had a more caring professor. Obviously the class isn't going to be a walk in the park, it's calculus, but prof Allen does her best to make sure that everyone understands what she is teaching!
Amazing professor! Goes out of her way to make sure everyone understands what she's teaching and is always open to take questions. Very accessible outside of class. Clicker quizzes every day and two homework assignments every week. Really cared about her students. Tests can be tricky, but notes are great study tools
I loved her. The subject itself is challenging but she really does her best in order for you to succeed. She is awesome. Take her if you can!! I would definitely take her again!
Allen breaks everything down as much as she can so the class can understand it. She really does want her students to get good grades and understand the material. If you like math and/or took calculus in high school this class is fairly easy.
The GOAT of business calculus. If you don't study, you won't do well, but Prof Allen is the most accessible and caring prof I have ever met. She does weekly reviews ON SUNDAYS. After taking a different prof for 141 after, I realized that she is indeed the only professor that cares enough to take extra time out of her own personal life to help. GOAT
Calculus is HARD, but Prof Allen is the best math professor I've ever had. This class will be a lot of work, but she provides so many resources and office hours. She is so caring and will help you as long as you communicate with her. I am not a math person whatsoever, but her and the TAs helped so much. Take her for business calc for sure.
Angela Allen is so sweet and kind. Calculus is hard but she is such a great prof. Take her!!!!! Her exams are so similar to the Week In Reviews so just study those and lecture notes and you're set.
Allen is a super nice lady but she makes the course more difficult than it needs to be. She "changes" math if that is even possible, and her tests are concept based and designed to fool you. I would recommend taking this course at a community college.
Calculus is hard. The subject cant be eAsy if youre not mathematically gifted but Professor Allen makes it doable. Her lectures are clear and to the point she shows you how to do things without any extra fluff. Shes direct about whats on the exams so never any surprises. She CARES so much. She will do anything to help you understand. Take her!
Prof. Allen was such a sweet lady and truly did her best to help you understand the material, there was some kind of office hours available almost everyday. The test are difficult but if you put in the work you will succeed. Attending class is a must because she doesn't put lecture notes online. Easy quizzes almost every class.
I was really nervous about this class because I had never taken calculus before. Professor Allen explained concepts very clearly and really seemed to care about her students. If you study the way she recommends to, you will be well prepared for exams. She does give quizzes in every class, so attendance is a must. Overall, I really liked her course.
This class is so hard. I was constantly in office hours and getting tutoring outside of class and I didnt pass. Only take her as a last resort..
i had never taken calculus so i was a little worried, im not the best at math, but i went to all of her office hours, and she will really help you walk through things and make sure you understand a topic. you should take diligent notes, she will use examples from notes on test so make sure you know it.
I have never rated a professor before, but I feel the need to for Professor Allen. She makes calculus so easy to understand, and makes math fun. She is very willing to help and really wants to see her students succeed. Just be prepared for the weekly quizzes because they can either really help you or hurt you, but they are nothing hard. TAKE HER!
Never had problems with math before, but I have never enjoyed it like I have enjoyed her class. She is amazing and her tests are incredibly easy in comparison to other professors that I have taken. As long as you understand the basics of what she is teaching, you are guaranteed an A. Not to mention that she is the sweetest professor that I have had
Prof Allen is by far the best Math142 prof. She truly cares. Starting fall19 she is teaching a 90 person class instead of her usual 300 person class due to grant work. I highly recommend her, she knew most people's name and supported everyone. She has reviews for every exam and lays out each Q. EC on 3/4 exams. Partial credit on workout problems!
If you aren't good at math, but are willing to work for a good grade - take this class!!! Her office hours are one of the best resources offered and can even become a way to keep yourself accountable and on top of the material all semester. Literally rework your notes a few times and the tests are a breeze, there's honestly no need for tutoring.
I took her class fall 2019 and loved it. She gives good reviews to ensure that you are prepared for each exam. Quiz every week but some are dropped. Extra credit opportunities on almost every test. She was able to call on everyone by name in my 90 person class. She cares a lot about each student succeeding in her class.
Great prof! great at explaining the material!
Dr. Allen is a great professor. I took calc AB in high school but it had been a two years since I took so I was worried. She taught the topics super well and clear. Easily able to understand, homework due every week and quiz every week. She drops some homework and quizzes too. We moved online because of the ronie so the final was optional.
All I have to say: WOW. Dr. Allen is AMAZING!!! I am 100% not a math person at all. Not only is she so caring and kind, but she makes learning math simple!! Ive never met such a wonderful professor. She really cares about her students as people and makes sure everyone is succeeding in and out of the classroom. Best math professor EVER hands down.
Allen was easily one of my fav prof. She was always available during office hours & she really cares for her students. Calc is difficult, but she makes it easy to understand & even if you don't going to her office hours help. An A is very attainable. I would say that working on hw, notes, & WIR help when studying for the exams.
Professor Allen is one of the sweetest profs I've ever had! I had never taken a calc class before this one, but she made the material easy to understand and gave a lot of practice to work through. She does give a lot of homework and there are pop-quizzes in class, but they all prepare you for her tests and are easy if you understand the notes.
I have never been good at math, let alone calculus. Dr. Allen is such a sweet professor who is more than willing to help you with anything. She explains things so well it makes it easier for people who suck at math like me. Participation does matter bc she doesn't post the notes and study for the tests since they're the biggest part of your grade!
Great prof. Explained things extremely well and while tests are difficult, as long as you put in the effort you will do alright.
Im not the best at math but this class was extremely hard. I was constantly in office hours and going to study sessions and I still did not make good grades.
I previously took 142 with another prof and had to Q-drop, but ended up making an A with Dr. Allen. Materials can be challenging, but she gives lots of extra credits and wants you to succeed! Final is cumulative and replaces your lowest test. She also drops your lowest HW and quiz. Go to class, do HW, rework notes, and study! She's a gem! TAKE HER!
One of the best professors I've had here, especially for math. Explains difficult concepts very clearly, truly wants you to learn and succeed. Grade made up of 3 exams, a final, weekly-ish quizzes, and online homework. Gave lots of extra credit opportunities. Take her!!!
She's the best professor I've ever had. She genuinely wants you to do well and will do anything to help you.
Be sure to review notes and old hw assignments for tests. She is the best professor I have ever had and really cares about her students. I started off with an ok grade at the beginning of the semester. I started going to office hours regularly and my grade improved tremendously. If you are able to take a class taught by her do it!!!!
Best professor ever. She actually cares about her students. You will make an A if you attend class, take notes, and study for exams. There are no secrets to her class. Just take care of your work and she'll take care of you. 10/10 recommend professor Allen.
Professor Allen is one of, if not, the best professors I have had at TAMU. If you have the opportunity to take her class definitely take it! Attending office hours helped me tremendously.
She is an amazing and kind professor but her class was the hardest class I ever had to take. Granted, I am not very good at math, so if math is your strong suite, take her.
Professor Allen was my absolute FAVORITE professor! She is so kind, caring and really wants her students to succeed. She explains the topics very well, and uses steps to help guide each problem. She is very organized and knows what she's doing. Show up to class, take notes, ask questions, and do her week-in-reviews! And you will get an A!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE prof Allen!! She is super caring and knows almost all of her students by name. Go to her office hours every week! You can build a great relationship with her there (and other students too). She's super knowledgeable and organized. Do the week in reviews for the exams and you're golden.
Allen is a sweet understanding prof. HOWEVER she follows the Departments ruled VERBATIM. She isnt allowed to give much extra credit because the department etc etc. But in the bright side she truly is a good teacher so you need to rely on truly learning. 10/10 for Allen. .05/10 for the MaTh dEpArTmEnT. oh she takes aggie honor code serious
made an A somehow at the very end. Go to class, study, do week in review.
Prof Allen was amazing. I have never taken calculus before and she was so patient and great at explaining things. She was head of the Week In Reviews and those mimicked exams very closely. Homework also prepared you for exams. DEFINITELY take her.
Best professor on campus! The main issue with this course is the Math Department, not this gem of a professor. Study and attend all the help sessions you can, Dr. Allen cares about her students' success and will be there to happily help. Note the final unfortunately has heavy weight on your grade. Oh, def ask her about Ms. Rev barking in her class!
I really liked this professor. I think my problem is the course is just really difficult and you have 8-10+ differing assignments due each week. It makes it feel like your endless working on this class (math 142). having assignments due Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday;
Probably my favorite professor at A&M so far. She takes the time to go over things if students don't understand and doesn't make anyone feel rushed. She definitely cares about her students and is super sweet and funny. Lots of easy extra credit. Hard class but she makes it feel a lot more doable!! Lots of opportunities to raise/replace grades.
Office hours are super helpful but so many people go it's hard to get one on one attention. TA's were pretty helpful. Concept questions on the test always got me but they are directly from the notes so just study a lot. Tests are nothing like the homework. Tried to make lecture fun and gave breaks with iclicker so make sure you go to class!!!!!
If you need any math credits, I HIGHLY suggest you take Allen if possible! She is the most caring professor I have had here at TAMU and made calculus so much easier. She s funny and makes lectures very interesting and engaging. I had 0 exposure to calculus prior to taking this class, and Id say I got a really good grasp of it thanks to her!!
Prof Allen is definitely the way to go if you need to take 142 at A&M. She is so caring and wants everyone to succeed. Her TAs are awesome and office hours rlly help. You have to put in the work, though. She gives you everything you need to succeed and then some. Take her!!!
Professor Allen was super nice and really good at explaining topics. She gave lots of assignments throughout the semester so that she could drop as much as she could from the final grade. I highly recommend taking Professor Allen for Math 142!
Allen is the best professor I have had at A&M so far and the best math teacher. She is caring and accepts any question with a great attitude. She genuinely wants all students to succeed. THE BEST teacher for 142. Take her! 3 exams, a comprehensive final, and two sections of HW and a quiz every week. Clickers are participation only.
Best professor at A&M for math by far! She's caring, funny, and tries to make relationships with her students. She's very helpful, great at explaining content, and answers any questions you may have. However, she strictly follows the department guidelines. This is a challenging class, but she makes it bearable. Take her if you have the chance!
Allen is so fun and enthusiastic and she really wants you to learn. The class can be difficult so you have to study a lot before tests, it is not like math 140. Do the Homeworks and video quizzes because they give a lot of practice and she does not go over the videos in class.
Angela Allen seems like an amazing teacher right off the bat because her tone with the class and her interactions are super kind. However, she does the easiest examples in class and the homework is nothing like what is taught in class. Quizzes every week, 4 HARD tests, multiple hours of homework a week. I will say she is very helpful when you ask.
She seems very nice at the beginning due to her tone with the class. But she only does the easiest of examples in class, not to mention random clicker quizzes. Tons of homework every week with a quiz due as well. Tests are very complex and hard, nothing like lectures or homework. Requires a lot of studying to pass.
shes honestly awesome, class examples are too easy compared to homework, but not her fault. very accommodating and flexible, very kind and caring. the way shes required to grade things makes the class difficult, but again, not her fault, highly recommend.
Professor Allen is a SUPER nice and genuine lady. She made going to class enjoyable. If you have any questions about the homework GO TO OFFICE HOURS. They actually help a lot. The homework and tests are fairly easy. Also, note that Math 140 is a departmentalized course meaning that the department creates the grading criteria, not professor Allen.
Professor Allen is amazing and wants to help her students. The homework and weekly quizzes can be a lot, but that is a departmental requirement. Despite the department's rules, she tries to make her class as easy as possible. The tests are harder than in-class examples, but she provides a good foundation to approach more difficult questions.
Allen is an amazing professor who goes above and beyond for her students. Lectures are necessary to pass the class, and if you go to her office hours you may be able to gain points back on your quizzes. In general, office hours are amazing- extremely fun and helpful. She's very understanding as long as you put in work on your end.
Professor Allen is awesome! You can tell she cares a lot about her students and explains everything in a way that is super easy to understand. If you go to class you will do great. She gives clear outlines of what will be on exams and prepares you well. Weekly quizzes and homework that have similar questions to the exams. Take her!
She's an amazing teacher who tries to clear up any misunderstandings as she's teaching. She also takes time at the end of lectures to answer any questions you may have. There's a module that tells you what days the clicker questions will happen and summarize what needs to be done. There are plenty of office hours with the TAs too.
This class was super hard. I felt like I went above and beyond when it came to studying and doing work but I still failed. It was super hard to get good help from the school and she was never available. All the reviews are from other classes. This class gpa was one of the lowest with this prof. Most people goals was a D very hard. Many ppl dropped.
Very difficult class. I struggled to pass and the lectures felt very rushed.
This class is hard, but tutoring is what got me through studying and homework. Each lecture handles A LOT of material so it can be overwhelming. Every Thursday you have an open ended quiz and you have 2-3 assignments due a week. I think this class is hard for a lot of people, but it is doable. Definitely spent most my time on this class.
Dr. Allen was a wonderful prof, considering that it's a math class. She clearly explains all the material, but the homework is a bit harder than the lecture. You definitely need to study for quizzes and exams, but practice exams and week-in-reviews are super helpful! Overall, Dr. Allen was a good, friendly, and understanding professor.
Probably one of the best math profs/teachers I've ever had, definitely the best math 140 prof at A&M. She is so caring and so eager to help. She writes her own test that are very very accurate if not easier than how she teaches in class. Truly such a sweet lady, I was very lucky to have gotten into her class. Have not heard of a better 140 prof!
TAKE ANGELA ALLEN! She is the nicest and most caring teacher. The first 2 exams cover easy material, and the 3rd test is more pre-cal based. Overall, this class was pretty light, and there was almost no homework for the class. She is definitely the best math professor you could get at A&M. She made Math 140 easily digestible.
Best professor in the math department! I had professor Allen for Math 140 and 142 and she is the BEST! If you go to lecture and do the homework you will be set. 140 is a tough class but she always has great TAs and is super open to help at anytime. I could recommend her enough!
Math 140 is HARD period. Allen is about the best you're gonna get. Class structure: 2-3 online homeworks (5-15 questions) WEEKLY, 1 IN CLASS paper quiz WEEKLY, 2-3 quiz/videos on canvas WEEKLY, exams every 2-4 weeks. The most work I've had for a class at A&M yet. Allen did her best to explain and help prepare for exams. (More than other profs)
Don't regret taking Ms.Allen. Best professor I've had yet in A&M. She is very caring and understanding for the students. If you pay attention in every lecture and do every assignment on time, without a doubt you'll get a A+. She teaches AMAZING!!!
I am not a math person. Allen understands this and teaches in a way that makes sense. she cares for her students and advocates for them within her department, and even got approval to drop a second quiz grade
Be prepared for lots of work (5-8 assignments/week). Felt like I was always doing work for this class. Otherwise, she was a good prof. Dropped lots of grades at the end and boosted my grade 4 points. Go to WIR and study and you'll be fine. Final exam grade replaces your lowest test score. Participation iClicker sometimes. Take her.
I did not take this prof, but attended all the WIR she holds. I wish I would have taken her. She does a great job at explaining and breaking down the problems. I know a lot of people that were not in her class but would go to her class in addition to their because of how she teaches.
Prof Allen has my been favorite professor so far! For someone who's not great at math, the way she lectures was so helpful. Also, attending her week in reviews really helped with homework and studying for exams. She gives extra points with iclicker and drops the 2 lowest quiz and homework grades. She also quickly responds to emails. Take her!!
Amazing professor. She really knows how to teach the material. Material was very hard but her week in reviews are very helpful. Had her for math 142 also and she's the best prof i've had.
Best Professor I have ever had. Cares about your grade and lectures are fun. While I love math, she makes it even better. I hope everyone has the chance to take this course.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had, would definitely recommend.
I'm not a big fan of math, but she's one of the only professors whose lectures I enjoy. She genuinely cares about students' grades, and she's incredibly kind and funny. It may be a strict curriculum, but she makes the workload easier to understand and less overwhelming.
She was extremely accommodating and helpful at every step of the semester. I would gladly take her again and her attention to detail when teaching was great.
Professor Allen is such a sweet lady, but she is the head of the math department and wrote the textbook. Because of this, she tends to teach the concepts in her own way instead of the standard way. All of your quizzes will be in class and on your own. You need to go to class cause she hints about what's on the exam. Hard class, but she helps a lot!
Tests are hard but provides you with plenty of material to study. Units are hard only because you have to solve problems with specific notation regardless if you've previously taken calculus and learned a different way. She tells us exactly what to know for the exams by writing out a checklist. Rework your notes until you can do them first try.
A lot of the learning we had to do ourselves via videos but she covered the material properly as well as provide examples to help further understanding. Lots of homework and quizzes but nothing not manageable. Very fast paced class which was a bit of a problem, but she does have great feedback on quizzes and tests which helps review for future use.
Professor Allen is very knowledgable but she teaches really fast (there's a lot of material to cover). She has a lot of office hours and is always willing to help. She is a pretty good teacher the class is just time consuming.
Very good lecturer and explains the material very well. She is very nice and easily accessible outside of class. The class itself isn't the easiest but the amount of practice and explination she gives makes it ver difficult.
Prof. Allen is the best professor I have ever had at A&M. I had never taken calculus in my life and she made it easy to understand. Her notes are very straightforward and are filled with examples of the things we will see on the exams. The exams were difficult but very doable. If you attend office hours and get help you will succeed in this class.
I loved Prof Allen! She truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. I recommend going to office hours to work on homework. Prof Allen gives weekly in class quizzes where you have 15 mins to finish. The homeworks take a few hours, but she really wants to help so that her students do well on exams.
Professor Allen is the best math professor at Texas A&M University. Math 142 is a difficult class, but she teaches the material so that everyone can understand. She goes above and beyond to help her students succeed. I had some health issues during the semester, and she was super understanding. Could not recommend her enough. Amazing person.
Prof. Allen is one of the best professors at A&M!! She truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. She teaches hard topics very well! Attendance not mandatory, however, usually iclicker for most classes that are used for attendance, but not always. Weekly hw's that usually take some time but given plenty of time to do them.
This professor was the best math instructor I have ever had. She explains complicated concepts so well and makes her TAs go up and down the aisles during lecture to help answer questions. Very caring, approachable, and understanding. Structures her notes and Canvas page in an intuitive fashion that makes it easy to understand what's going on.
Prof. Allen is a dedicated instructor who truly wants her students to succeed. While the course can be challenging, her clear explanations and helpful office hours make it manageable. unstuckstudy was a great study aid alongside the textbook.
She was so funny and so caring! Calculus is hard to understand and she walked us through it incredibly well! She also dropped two of our lowest quiz and homework grades. The first exam was very hard but it seemingly has gotten better, tests weigh a lot but she really wanted us to do well in her class! Very easy to talk to!
She will probably be one of my favorite college professors. Her class was so hard, but she stuck with me the whole time and helped me learn how to learn better. I always knew that I could go to her after class or in office hours and she would help me figure out what I was doing wrong. This class is a lot of work but Prof Allen makes it worth it!
I feel so blessed to have had Prof Allen for Math 142. It is a difficult course, but she is very knowledgeable and was always there for me whenever I needed help. Definitely recommend going to her office hours as her TA's are also very helpful. Make sure to rework your notes and do her exam reviews and you will do well. You want to take her class!!
Best math teacher I have ever had. I wish I could take the rest of my classes with her. Material was difficult but she offered so much outside help that you should take advantage of.
Professor Allen was incredible at teaching MATH 142 and explained everything she wanted you to know and show in steps. Throughout the semester, she noted what to write down on flashcards for the final. For every exam, she created a concept guide and linked her week-in-reviews. Video quizzes and WebAssign every week, but she dropped two of each.
Mrs. Allen cares a lot for those who have never taken calculus before. She explains topics in depth and always waits for questions so she can answer them. Although if you have taken calc before, get ready to learn things a whole different way. Some methods she teaches are different than what you learned in AP calc. She wants her way on exams.
Professor Allen is such a sweetheart and it's not her fault that I hate calculus. She made it as easy for us as she possibly could- do the homework and the video quizzes. If I hadn't slept through her class I probably could've made an A.
I was so scared for math 140 BUT take it with prof allen!! She explains the concepts well. Not to mention she is so caring . I missed a week of classes and she was the most understanding prof I had come across. There is weekly homework and quizzes but honestly if you go to class and do your homework you will def pass the class.
Professor Allen is the kind of professor everyone hopes for in college. She truly cares that you understand the material and encourages questions. Her teaching style is fast-paced, but she'll gladly slow down if needed. Her explanations are clear, engaging, and incredibly helpful.
I LOVE PROF ALLEN! I would take all the math courses available at TAMU if Professor Allen taught all of them. She is awesome. Attendance was counted randomly through iClicker, but all Math 140 courses require that. She really wants you to succeed in the course and you can tell she loves to teach. She is funny, caring, and engaging.
(MATH365 is basically MATH135 which is what I had her for) Prof Allen is amazing! She gives very helpful reviews before exams/quizzes, not a lot of homework. She is very understanding and sweet. If you want an A go to at least 90% of the lectures (I skipped a few and still did well). Best prof I've had so far, she is really good at her job
The sweetest soul ever. I loved being in Dr. Allen's class so much. I am a professional math hater, but Dr. Allen kept me going. She tries really hard to set her students up for success and treats me like her own kid. If you happen to get her for Math 140, just know you are in good hands! I'd also recommend to go to office hours!
Angela Allen is a good, caring teacher. Overall, the class is easy. You should get 100s on the homework, and if you sufficiently study, you can do great on the quizzes and tests. I found the class a little boring since it's similar to what you learn in high school (e.g., algebra, basic statistics, etc.) Despite that, I recommend Allen for Math 140.
She's one of a kind. I've never had a better math teacher. The only thing I didn't like about her class was her policy on technology but it's understandable. She's very kind, sweet, and incredibly knowledgeable. Probably the only teacher I've ever felt comfortable going to help hours for.
Overall an easy class and a nice lady. The TA Andy would go around and ask people to put their phones away during lecture which made me feel like I was still in high school. Like buddy you're assisting one of the easiest classes in the university lil bro you aint tough. But other than that nothing but good things to say about her and the class.
Love her so much!! She truly desires to help her students in every way and genuinely wants everyone to understand the material. She's a great prof
TAKE HER!!!! I am so bad at math but she was so kind, never demeaning, and always was willing to take the time to help her students really understand. The course sucks- cumulative final, weekly homeworks, in class iclicker + individual/group quizzes, videos to watch before class. Drops 2 of each assignment and tells what concepts will be on tests.
As someone who is completely horrible at math, Allen is great. Yes, I still suck at math, but she is incredibly caring and patient when it comes to teaching. Homework are easy, you get 6 tries per question. There are weekly quizzes but they are occasionally taken with a group. Start studying early for tests if you dont understand. Lovely lady.
Dr. Allen is very good at teaching when it comes to math. She goes through all the problems and concepts in the notes during lectures step by step and answers all questions. Exams are a bit difficult but she explains how to study.
She is such a amazing professor and genuinely wants her students to pass. There are weekly in class quizzes (2 get dropped). She tells you gonna be on quizzes and exams. If you have taken calc in high school. you'll be fine just focus on the linear programming and finance chapters. I recommend HOGU and WIR if you need the extra practice.
This is the math professor you want. End of discussion. Dr. Allen is the sweetest professor and tries to make the concepts as easy and understandable for us as she can. She will stop lecture for any questions and fight the math department to get us easier tests and quizzes. You will not find a more reasonable and lovely human than Dr. Allen.
Dr. Allen was a great professor who really cared about her students!
This is the goat. Take her.
Professor Allen was a great professor! I'm definitely not a math person and was nervous coming in to take math 140, but she explains everything and does the best to make you succeed! I was able to get an A in the class and get A's on almost every test! 100% take Professor Allen!!
Professor Allen is wonderful. She is very easy to reach outside of class if you are struggling or just have questions. If you take MATH140 with prior calculus/pre-calculus knowledge you might find this class boring. There is homework every week and quizzes every other week, and she ends up dropping the lowest grades.
