Easy, friendly, helpfull

Very clear & helpful in assignments given. She's enthusiastic about helping her students. The person who rated her as a bimbo obviously got a bad grade in an easy class...a classic slacker!

This wasn't an easy class, but it was worth it. I learned a lot about writing (duh, english). I would recommend Angela to anyone who actually wants to learn something in their english class!
she knows a lot about english but is not an understanding professor, I would recomend others even though the clss is not that difficult

She is a good prof. and is pretty straight forward. Do the assignment and show up for class. Its all good after that. The only bad is she insists on students reading aloud in class...lame, this isn't middle school!
Straight forward.
Interesting class. Not what I exptcted. We actually applied what we were learning to the real world. Really clear instructions. I would recommend this class.
Best Teacher In The World!!!!
Good class
If you already have decent writing skills, this is a good class to get a GER out of the way with--several assignments, but pretty easy. Otherwise, don't take it. Lectures are pointless and impossible to follow. Wants students to bring books to every single class to read from aloud--again, pointless. Helpful if you're having problems, though.
Good Class. Easy
Angie was a great professor- very open and available to students outside of class. Not a hard class, but not easy either. Writing assignments applied to real life (as in actually sent to city officials/organizations etc.). Would certainly recommend her, especially if you are really interested in learning how to write in the real world.
I really liked the focus of this class--persuasive writing in the workplace. I hadn't ever written a business plan, proposal, or designed a web page, etc., before. Worthwhile class.
Very good class. Prof. Andersen is excellent. I kept the text. It's great. The lectures and assignments really prepared me for what I am doing now --lots of technical writing. Take this class.
The class was fairly interesting. The assignments were good and applied to real life situations. Grading is only by A,C, of F, as this is what its like in the real world. Pretty decent teacher.

She tries to make her criteria clear but I think that with her jumping around in lectures confuses people. Myself included. She is very rigid in her grading standards A,C,F. The author of the textbook is her idol. As a bonus she doesnt test you.
Good class for learning to network with the community. I learned a lot about report and proposal writing.
Professor was helpful, but the projects required were the most ridiculous projects I have ever seen in my four years at UAA.
Really good class. I knew nothing about this stuff before. I'm using what I learned in my other classes. My writing has really improved.
Grades on an A,C,F scale, She places the author of the class text book on a pedastal. Unwilling to be flexible with subject matter, lectures are hard to follow as she jumps from tangent to tangent. If you want an easy grade and have trouble with english classes take her, if you want to actualy learn and be challenged find another professor.
Best professor I've had. She's knowledgable and emphasizes high achievement. I'm great at English, but I learned so much more with this class. Assignments are very helpful and applicable to real life.
Worst english class i have ever taken, was a complete waste of time, her lectures were all over the place, very hard to follow. always showed videos about un applicible items like potatoe farming.
This professor is hard to understand, lectures very little, and expects you to figure it out on your own. Her grading is VERY inconsistant. I would NOT reccomend this teacher.
My writting skills improved a lot with this class. It was very helpful. The teacher was good and i would recommend her she graded very fair Some of the projects are big but do able if you dont wait till the last min. good class to take!
Great class! Prof. Andersen makes technical writing really interesting. Great projects. I learned so much about technical writing and my career choice. Take this class.
She is a great professor. I took this course online, and it was easier than I thought it would be ? because she had everything laid out well. Her assignments were very interesting, there were NO tests, and the only downside was waiting for her to respond to emails. Other than that, it was a very useful class!
She's best professor I have taken a class from at UAA. There should be more professors like her.
Great class! I learned so much about my career and what tech writing is all about.
Fairly enjoyable class. 5 or so assignments throughout the semester. Reasonable professor although be prepared to spend a good 20+ hours on one assignment worth half the grade.
Very helpful teacher, explained assignments very well and went over them a couple of times before they were due to make sure everybody understood what the requirements were. In class Exercises also helped. Very friendly and a great teacher.
Excellent course. Took it while working in my field. Great class.
Great Professor, always available to go over anything you have questions about. She's very helpful, at first class was intimidating but after a few assignments, realized shes an easy grader. Important class and she teaches it well.
Great teacher, tons of handouts. Very clear and makes sure to take extra time to make sure students understand the assignment and that everything is crystal clear. If it's not she is more than helpful if there are any questions. Grades on A-C-F "real world" grading scale. Very helpful class and great teacher, one of the better in the CBPP.
This teacher is amazing. This department is so lucky to get someone like her. She has tons of real-life experience, she is so fair, kind, and she knows how to handle situations. The class has a lot of work, but if you put in the effort needed you will do fine. Would take her again!
One of the best professors in CBPP. Glad I had Andersen. She went back to English. Our loss.
Attendance isn't graded, but it is mandatory. Overall, she's real nice and I recommend her. There were like 5 assignments total, but they were like big projects. Here's a tip I had to learn the very hard way: when in a group with a partner, and the work load is divided but the grade isn't divided, don't rely on your partner. Have a plan B.
She is super nice, and want all of her students to suceed, she only grades A, C, or F. But she grades super easy on the first 3 projects, but make sure you listen when she says she's going to buckle down on grading for the last 2, because she does. Overall great teacher, and an easy class.
There were a lot of clarity issues on most of the projects. Didn't exactly make the course broad and general, specified the course specifically for engineering majors. Had a hard time with that. Grades very hard; just is a very specific and hard lined professor.
Excellent professor! I loved this class. Very clear instructions on exactly what she wanted us to do for our assignments. I enjoyed working on real projects for the community. Great class.
I learned so much in this class and it's helping me in my other classes. Professor Andersen is very clear and gave us outlines and examples for every assignment. Best class I've taken the 3 years I've been here. I totally recommend it.
Great professor!
Really organized. I liked the class and learned a lot. Good community projects.
Good projects. We wrote community proposals. Great professor. The most organized course I have taken and the best professor.
Prof is very disorganized and constantly flips between textbook, handouts and YouTube videos that never seem to have much to do with her assignments. The assignments are easy enough, but her instructions on how to complete them are vague and unhelpful. Prof is derisive and judgmental, and graded presentations based on students' personal appearance.
Professor Andersen is very professional and always knows what she is talking about. She hands out a lot of papers and she needs to be clear on assignments. She is very sweet and aproachable.
Highly recommended! I learned a lot from her class. We did 2 presentations and resumes at the end. Make sure you have a good partner, because it will have a big impact on your grade. She is always prepared. She give handouts and website links to class to help her students on their projects. You can always ask her when u need help :)
This professor is a great teacher. I really enjoyed her teaching. I will recommend her to everyone.
Professor Andersen is amazing! I liked the community projects. The wevsite I designed is actually beimg used by a business in town and our team park project is getting funded. I learned so much in this class!
Very straightforward course. I learned a lot! I'm taking another class from Prof. Andersen because I liked how organized everything was.
I'm glad I took this course from Prof. Andersen. She is very clear. The course is easy to ow, and the assignments were awesome! I loved the course!
This was such a great class! I learned so much about technical writing and learned how to brand myself in order to get a good job and it worked! Best class in 4 years at UAA!
I LOVE this English professor. She is super easy, nice and wants her students to succeed. Do the work and she will give you the credit. If you have questions or need clarification, just ask and she will be more than happy to help you.
Professional and insightful. You will learn from her class, although it will be a bit boring. Manageable workload centered around a few papers and presentations some group work required.
This was my favorite professor by far at UAA. Professor Andersen is awesome! We did some hands-on work for community partners which made the class really interesting. I learned so much about technical writing and professional presentations in this class!
Fantastic course. Fantastic instructor. I would recommend everyone to take this course with Professor Andersen not at the end of their term, but rather early on because the information and skills I have learned in this course were so hugely beneficial. I wish Professor Andersen taught more classes so I could take them.
She is a nice person and willing to go above and beyond to help you, but she is not the best lecturer and can sometimes be unclear. Don't be afraid to ask questions - and ask again if she doesn't answer well. Lots of group projects, but they are graded very fairly. She breaks it down into categories where you can get 100%, 50%, or 0% - be careful.
Great personality, however technical writing class shouldn't be morphed into "do group presentations of business plans to a professional." This is a GER, the course is labeled technical writing. Let's keep it at that. Great personality though!!
She is SUPER passionate about technical writing. She's there for you whenever you need it and is very nice. The papers you have to do seem pretty unnecessary considering its just a GER (business plans, safety manuals), but as long as you do everything you should pass. She refers to the text A LOT, but its definitely not a necessity.
Good course to take to get good experience and a grade that reflects effort. I'm likely to take courses with her again. She applies real work experience to her homework and what you learn will be used in future careers.
So far, this has been my my favorite class and professor at UAA.
Professor Andersen was always willing to schedule a meeting to go over a paper and literally 'grade it' before you turned it in. She has a passion for teaching technical writing! She doesn't just teach you how to write technical documents, she also teaches you how to present yourself and your writing professionally. I would take this course again!
She's a very nice lady and the class was a breeze.
Took her technical writing class during the summer. Easiest class ever. She was super clear in what she expected from you for each assignment. Nothing too drastic. No tests. Left halfway through the class at the break because she went over everything in the first half. Very nice. She cares more about the formatting than of the content.
Very clear about expectations and assignments. She is very helpful. Gives plenty of extra credit. Overall she a good professor and does a great job teaching the class. She wasn't my favorite only because I found her to be irrationally strict on minor details, however I would recommend taking this class with her.
Professor Anderson was a pretty good professor. But she went a little too far for a GER. It becomes less about learning to technical write and more about how to get a job. Not to mention, her projects are a tad too much. One of them she didn't even know much about because it's through a company. Huge syllabus that she refers to all the time too.
Fantastic course. Fantastic instructor. I would recommend everyone to take this course with Professor Andersen not at the end of their term, but rather early on because the information and skills I have learned in this course were so hugely beneficial. I wish Professor Andersen taught more classes so I could take them.
Good course to learn how to do things "on the job", but she takes it a little too far. 50 page syllabus, required to bring it everyday, and presenting projects to actual companies.
Excellent at what she does. Good teacher. Do you work ahead of time and you will have 0 problems. There are 3 major projects, each with about a month to prepare. Don't be late handing in assignments, because she give's 0's!!!! Great warm-up for presentation based courses later on, and general professional conduct.
She's pretty unclear about what she expects from the assignments, especially with formatting. Attendance is a must as she follows UAA policy. There were multiple presentations, but she does offer a lot of extra credit. Overall she's a good teacher, but I don't feel I learned much from the class.
This course is one of the best English class that I had taken. Prof. Andersen is one of the greatest and most helpful professor in this university. She care very much about her students and she always do her best to help anyone who need help. In this course I had learned many things that Im sure will be very beneficial in my career.
Professor Andersen is good at engaging her students. She explains things clearly and will answer any questions you have. I enjoyed this class more than most of my other classes because it felt like I was learning a skill that is useful regardless of my major.
demonstrates professionalism, ethics, and fun this semester.
Professor Andersen did an amazing job teaching us and having handson experience with Technical Writing. This was by far one of my favorite classes that I actually looked forward to attending everyday. The knowledge and skills I have gained in this course will allow me to exceed greatly in my career objectives and goals.
Ms. Andersen creates a professional relationship with students. ENGL 212 is basically "writing in the workplace" and "how to prepare for your job search". Her grading criteria is clear and she has a huge syllabus she refers to a lot. As long as you do whats on the syllabus, you'll pass. Easy A for me. Learned a lot and overall enjoyed the class.
Teacher drones on forever on how to be a Cookie Cutter Blue Collar Business Worker. Required to dress up for presenting, have zero errors (or get half off) on assignments and rely solely on google because Her syllabus does not contain specific enough or relevant enough examples to deliver what She requires. Req'd book was anecdotal at best. B+
By far the best class I have taken at UAA. Professor Andersen is awesome.
Professor Andersen is a rough teacher. She is kind hearted but is tough. There is four papers but, they are a lot of work. You have to work for your grade in Technical Writing. Overall a good class and I learned a lot!
Very dense syllabus is helpful and to the point; follow it and you'll be fine. Papers are mostly research based (APA format and citations are crucial). 1 group project is required and is worth the most in points. A. Andersen taught me a lot about tech writing and even the campus. Very informative and keeps office hours. Go to all classes!
I leaned so much in this class! Professor Andersen is a great teacher. The course was great. Take it.
Pros: You will learn everything you need to know about writing in the workplace. Gives plenty of time to complete assignments, each paper w/ a detailed rubric attached. Cons: Assignments are complex & lengthy. Quadruple-check the rubric: 1 minor error & there goes 25 pts. Teaching is fast & messages can sometimes get muddled. Do any & all ex-cred!
you'll learn things that will be useful to you in the work force. she likes to call on random students during class. so if you have anxiety about public speaking, prepare for that. her rubrics are specific but clear. she is strict and lacks sympathy. if a circumstance comes up dont expect her to let you turn something in late.
Lots of group projects towards the end of the semester, but it can really be fun if you are good with other people. Helpful when it comes to reading, checking for grammar, and what to do to improve your writing. To pass her class, you need to make friends with other people when it comes to group projects.
Professor Anderson is a solid choice. The work in the class is fairly easy with 3-4 papers. Beaware that there is tons of reading sometimes reading over 100 pages in 1 week! The class is not hard, just a lot of work. If you have a lot of spare time, I would defintly recommend her!
This was my secone class I have taken with Professor Andersen and I would recommend Professor Andersen above everybody else. This was a straight forward class with clear instructions for each assignment. I learned a lot and got an A.
This is the best professor I have taken at UAA. The course outline and textbook are easy to follow. Not a lot of reading and good assignments. I liked the class a lot.
Taking her course was so easy! Her course was so much easier than my WRTG A111 and there was NO DISCUSSION BOARDS and NO TESTS! There are 5 Assignments that is student-paced and she gives plenty of weeks to finish the assignments. I took her online course during the summer 10 wk session and it was so easy. I highly recommend professor Andersen!
Professor Andersen is the best! I would definitely take this class again if I could. Such an easy A.
Very little interaction with professor. Each assignment has detailed requirements listed in the syllabus (5 total assignments for the semester) and the class is self-paced with multiple weeks to finish each assignment. Her timeline allows you to make your own schedule (which i love) just don't procrastinate too much. Overall, a pretty easy class.
She is a great writing professor, but she not a kind and caring person. Time is time for her. If you are late for the turning in paper for 3 minutes, then you're gonna lose some points. Be careful with you papers. Even single period, comma, and space could ruin your grade. Otherwise, her extra credit tasks are very helpful.
You need to work hard and don't procrastinate if you want an A in this class. Not a really nice professor. When I asked her to meet outside of office hours for help on an assignment because I had another class during her office hours, she was not willing to meet with me. Really strict about assignments. Total of 8 assignments plus 3 extra credit.
Professor Andersen is awesome! She genuinely cares and is very kind. This was the best class I have taken so far at UAA.
This was a great class. Wish I would have taken it earlier. I definitely use what I learned in the class.
There is one big assignment (like a midterm) out of five but each assignment is explain very clearly on how the professor would like them and you just have to follow them to get 100%. There was also e.c. offered at the end. Easy class with plenty of time but so structured that there's little creativity. The final is 2 easy assign. out of the 5.
she's a great fair grader and super straightforward! do the assignments as listed and you will get 100% and there are examples she provides with. super easy class
Five assignments all semester that were relatively easy with plenty of time to do them. She's clear with what she wants and gives examples for a couple assignments. I liked the topics. Easy extra credit. Graded quickly. Would definitely take another class by her again.
I really enjoyed this course! The assignments were very clear and very interesting as well. I would definitely take this professor again.
I really enjoyed this class. Every assignment is detailed in the syllabus in advance, and the grading system is very fair. The assignments were really interesting. I would take this class again and highly recommend Professor Andersen.
The textbooks were all online, so you don't have to buy one. I liked this class, and I recommend you take Andersen if you can get a seat. She is super nice and helpful. I took the class online. There is no busywork, and the assignment instructions are very clear. It's a good class.
I really liked Professor Andersen's class. The course is really clear, and the assignment instructions and examples are great. I would definitely take this class again. Register early because her classes fill up fast.
The syllabus has a clear schedule on when things are due, she does not accept late work. Mostly independent busy work. 2-4 readings per week, but they are pretty easy. Only 5 assignments and 2 extra credit opportunities before class began. The assignments were very easy as long as you put in the effort and do not procrastinate.
I loved this class. Professor Andersen's class is really easy to follow with straight forward assignments. It was really nice to do an assignment about my career. And the paper examples were really helpful. I would take another class from her if I needed one. She is great.
Easiest class Ive ever taken. Gives two 50 point extra credit options. Have always earned perfect scores on assignments. Not very time consuming and decently interesting. Great filler class for a busy schedule.
I really can't complain, her class was easyyyyy. Complete the assignments on-time and you'll probably get full points. She definitely grades off completion. The first assignment is like 20 pages so be ready, the rest is smooth sailing.
I liked that there weren't too many assignments
Solid course. The assignments are spelled out and easy to follow. The student examples really helped. I started with an A and kept it. I liked this class a lot.
This was a good course. Take Professor Andersen if you can.
This was a good course, and she gives feedback on each assignment. She offers extra credit at the beginning of the semester, and this is a great course to take if you have a busy schedule.
Professor Andersen's class is structured and fair. The assignments are clearly outlined with examples to follow. I found the topics engaging and the workload manageable. For study prep, I used unstuckstudy alongside the course materials - a helpful combo.
This class was very easy with only 5 assignments. You could realistically finish this class in 1-2 weeks if you really focus on it. If you follow the rubric and what is in the readings, you should ace this class. There are two extra credit opportunities 50 pts each. Each assignment is 200 pts. I recommend this class!
